Great webcam for most any OS...
Pros: Where do I start? First off, this camera doesn't even need a driver or software to operate correctly. This works not only with Mac OS X, but it also works with XP and Vista, though I've only tested it with the 32-bit versions. The "plug n' play" on this is purely amazing.
Literally, you just plug it in, and use your favorite video chat program. I've been using it successfully with iChat, Skype, ooVoo, Windows Live, etc. I have yet to test this with iMovie or Photo Booth, but I highly doubt I'll run into any problems.
This looks fairly sleek, and it runs like a beast.
Cons: Didn't come with a coupon for half off a 1-topping slice and medium soda.
Other Thoughts: I have a Mac mini, and an Acer monitor, so no iSight. This was a perfect substitute, couldn't have asked for more. Before I bought this camera, I had a Communicate STX before I bought this. I tried using macam with iChatUSB, and it kept freezing up my iChat, not sure why. Either way I'm happy with the switch. I'm selling my STX to a less fortunate soul.
Don't worry about those giving a lower rating. You really do get what you paid for with the camera.

Does not work as advertised
Pros: Works extremely good in low light levels; no drivers required.
Cons: Logitech claims this is a Mac compatible 2MP camera, however the most you can pull off off it is 640x480 in iChat, Photobooth, Quicktime player and a couple other tested programs; if you use it in any other program (like Evocam) the most it can do is a pathetic 320x240.
When my computer goes to sleep it also completely loses the camera, only option after its waked up is to disconnect and reconnect the camera, making it useless for my needs.
Other Thoughts: Tested on a Nehalem 2.6 Quad Mac Pro

Works great, very satisfied.
Pros: Works great in Linux. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit version on an i7 platform and it detected and worked fine after plugging it in a couple times and relogging. Skype detects it for video chat and the microphone picks up well. The autofocus works pretty well. It's nice not having to worry about drivers since the camera does all the work. I also like the monitor mount. It can work for any monitor and it just feels really stable.
Cons: The cord could be a little longer. I think it's 5 or 6 feet so maybe I'm just picky.

Solid (but expensive) Linux webcam
Pros: It's a UVC (USB video class) device, which means it doesn't require any custom drivers. In fact, it doesn't even come with a software/driver CD. Runs flawlessly on gentoo linux kernel 2.6.25 (shows up as a V4L2 device). The built-in mic requires USB audio in the kernel and is great quality.
Solid build and looks great. The indicator light is a subtle classy white circle around the Logitech logo.
What really convinced me, however, to drop the extra cash and buy this webcam is the following: it has *hardware* (i.e. firmware) controlled autozoom and auto light level adjustment (Logitech calls it RightLight2). Both of these features work great.
This is absolutely how a peripheral should work. No silly custom drivers, no software controls required to utilize the advanced features. It complies with a standard and is truly cross platform.
Cons: - extremely expensive for a webcam - even under bright lighting, the frame rate takes a massive hit when recording on high resolutions. This could also be a UVC driver issue on my end, I'm not sure.
Other Thoughts: Such a high resolution device is really not needed for video conferencing. If you just want a simple linux webcam and you don't care about autofocus, etc look for a cheaper UVC webcam.

Exactly What I Wanted
Pros: Plug-and-play: no software required; nice looks and build quality; adjustable stand; terrific video quality; works flawlessly with Skype and iChat, USB connectivity
Cons: Can't use it with iMovie (microphone works, but not camera), but that's not Logitech's fault. It doesn't zoom, but I don't care about that.
Other Thoughts: My wife and I wanted a camera so relatives around the country can see our 2-month old son. This camera connects via USB, and there is no software to install. There is no third-party software required to use the camera. Once connected, it was working in Skype within 2 minutes.
My computer is an 8-core (Intel) Mac Pro with stock video card and 2GB RAM. I don't know if that matters.
Just to clarify, in another review someone mentioned the camera shown atop an iMac, blocking the built-in iSight camera. If that person is talking about the Newegg photo, that is not an iMac -- it's a Cinema Display, which does not have an integrated camera.
Mac Pros have neither a camera nor a built-in microphone, so this camera fits the bill for me. I don't have an Apple display, so I managed to find a black one (matches my NEC monitor).
Full disclosure: I ordered this from a competitor for $25 less. I've ordered plenty from Newegg, but $25 is nothing to sneeze at.

Must have for 2 Apple systems
Pros: If you have a Mac Mini or a Mac Pro with just a plain monitor this is the one thing you need to enjoy what all other Apple user's take for granted. iChat and video conferencing work great on 10.5 and you don't know what your missing. This also comes with a mic.
Cons: Pricey but you don't have to install any software. It uses what is already in OS X.
Other Thoughts: So simple to setup your grandmother could do it. If you own a Mac Mini or Mac Pro this is a must. Just make sure you have a USB port free. ;-)

works great
Pros: Plug it in and it works with Skype and iChat - no software to install. Works with my Powerbook and Mac Pro fine. Excellent quality.
Bought one for an older (non-tech) family member to keep in touch. F
ortunately I was smart enough to make sure she has a Mac - NO HEADACHES or long distance support needed.
Cons: Can only have one application running at a time.
Occasionally the auto contrasts gets messed up but that may have been related to trying o run two applications that are fighting for control of the camera
Other Thoughts: *If* you have a newer Macbook or one of the brand new 24" monitor then - yes - you have iSight built in and don't need it. For everybody else this works great - no maccam drivers needed.

Umm, am I missing something
Pros: Logitech makes a great looking, high quality product. The Lens and materials are high quality throughout.
Cons: Did someone forget that virtually ALL MAC'S have a built in camera? 150 bucks is pricy.
Other Thoughts: The ad has the camera, on top on an Imac, in the exact location the BUILT IN camera is. I mean, to me, if you need something THAT high quality, that you're willing to ruin the sleek looks of your Imac, then this would be a great choice, with the high quality lens, etc. Just a tad overkill for those of us who like to occasionally scare off people by turning on our webcam.
