Rating + 3 Some strong flaws

Pros: -Great microphone
-Okay bass but overall nice sound

Cons: -The headphones lose their grip over time and fall off your head
-Easy to break

Other Thoughts: If you can still find them there are a halo 2 version of these headphones that usually sell for about $5, same parts inside but they are always real cheap for some reason.

Rating + 5 Good but not great

Pros: Works, fairly comfortable, decent sound, durable if handled with any care at all, friends say mic is good over ts

Cons: not great sound and not the most comfortable, several hours can get sore, headband adjustment got loose fast and slips making me constantly readjust it

Other Thoughts: All in all its been a great headset, though I am looking to upgrade. It has served its purpose well.

Rating + 2 Not even okay...

Pros: It has sound if you don't have speakers.

Cons: I am surprised at the horrible quality of this product. After owning several Plantronics headsets, including the GameCom Pro 1 (the old silver one) and also cheap ones, I thought this was going to be at least decent. After 30 minutes of wearing these my ears ached in pain (I use low sound). The construction is bad, including the head band, and I'm sure these could break easy enough.

Other Thoughts: Gave it to my half nephew, mediocre at best.

Rating + 4 Works good

Pros: These work well for vent. The mic is really clear and sensitive. The sound is really good for music, videos, and online chat. My husband and I both have a pair. They are quite sturdy, which is great because my 8 and 5 year old daughters try to use them. They are very cushy and well made.

Cons: They aren't the most comfortable. They make my ears hurt and I end up doing this one ear on/ one ear off type positioning. My husband also has this problem.

Other Thoughts: Even though they aren't the MOST comfortable, I do love these head phones. They are a great price and great quality.

Pros: High Quality sound!

Cons: The mic only on the left side. I don't know if anyone noticed that this headset it's kinda' crooked. If you put it right with the mic on the left the back side of the speaker stays a little distanced from the head, but if you turn it around it stays perfect and it covers the ears the way it supposed to be. The only thing then, is that you are not able to use the mic.
And the worse thing is the vinyl (or whatever material) that covers those round cushions that covers the ears. Those things are getting so hot that i wasn't able to keep this headset more then 10-15 minutes. Such a pity!

Pros: The sound is amazing and I'm using it mostly for headphones to listen to music and watch videos.

Cons: The mic is so low for some reason after around one time use, not what I expected but the sound is good enough.

Rating + 5 Amazing headset!

Pros: Amazing headset! It has excellent sound and voice quality, and is very comfortable. It is very sturdy and nice looking.

Cons: The cord it 2 wires fused together, not the single wire that I would prefer. Very minor con.

Other Thoughts: This blows the Plantronics GameCom out of the water! Best headset I have ever owned by far.

Rating + 3 Inexpensive, and somewhat cheap

Pros: My particular headset has sensational sound with a rich low end and a crisp high end. I find them more comfortable than *any* other headset I have worn in my lifetime. Guild mates all complimented the great sound from the mic. Very competitive price.

Cons: Somewhere I'm sure I read about the mic boom becoming loose after about a month of use before I purchased this headset. It is only a minor nuisance, but just from using it lightly every day, the mic slowly began to sag on its own, and now it just falls limply onto my shoulder. Even though it picks up my voice fine in that position, I simply cut and folded a tiny piece of paper and used it to shim the boom in place.

Other Thoughts: Construction of the mic boom seems below what quality I have observed in Plantronics products so far. Overall I am content with this headset and may one of these days try to permanantly fix the mic boom.

Rating + 5 Great Economical Headset

Pros: The price is EXCELLENT for the product you get. Great bass, great sound distinction. I can hear any footsteps in game. Friends say they can hear the mic loud and clear.

Cons: After about 4 hours of gameplay, my ears would start hurting as if i had a clothes pin on the top of them. But this is also a pro because it tells me when to get of the dang computer. Cord could be a little more durable, though has not failed yet!

Other Thoughts: I have used this headset for about 2 years, and the padding is starting to crack in both ears, but I cant feel it yet.

Rating + 5 Excellent for Gaming

Pros: I use this for gaming on a daily basis. The audio quality is great, I don't get any static sound. The volume, as well, is great. The microphone boom never gets in the way, and if it does, you can just adjust it using the flexible microphone. They are comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time.

Cons: The wire is a little thin and often gets caught in my chair's wheels. If you don't have any wire-chewing animals (or children) you should be fine.

Other Thoughts: I had a pair similar to these before they broke--I bought these, and found them to be much better.

Rating + 4 Comfy, Functional, Weak Cord

Pros: Comfortable, sound is great for gaming and/or music. The microphone is clear and easy to adjust and use.

Cons: On two pairs I owned, both cords broke within 6-8 months of use.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price, but I question the durability of the cord. Used this mainly for playing WoW and listening to music. After hours of play I'd need to take it off for a few moments to rest my ears, but otherwise, the headset was comfortable and did its job. If you need an economical solution with good sound all around, this is a good pick.

Rating + 5 Great Headset!

Pros: -The sound on these headphones are great! I did a few test songs and I can hear every vocal and every instrument clearly. When running some of my favorite games footsteps are very clear and easy to pick out.

-Very comfortable. After wearing these for hours I can say that they do not cause any irritation at all. That's right folks, no uncomfortable itchy ears.

The wiring is all fine, no broken wires or bad craftsmanship.

Cons: -The sliders for adjusting the length are a little loose. Not so bad that they slip and fall whenever they want, but not as tight as I would like them.

Other Thoughts: For just under $20 these headphones are a bargain you can't refuse!

Rating + 2 Don't waste your money

Pros: Nice physical design. Comfortable. Connections are nice and long.

Cons: Did NOT sound good at all. I had to basically turn the bass frequencies off to keep the sound from distorting horribly. I have had this headset for about two months and the left channel died last night. I take very good care of my things, and this headset just died on it's own with NO rough handling or damage.

Other Thoughts: I am going to return this item to the retailer I bought it from. (not purchased from newegg) I doubt I can get a refund, but if the replacement turns out better than this particular headset, I will let everyone know that this was probably just a bad unit.

Pros: Microphone sounds great! the last heaset i had i had to take the mic to my mouth for it to hear it, but with this one it works like a charm. The audio is good and they are verry comfortable.

Cons: hard getting out of its plastic case, be carefull with getting it out. It doesn't block backround audio like it say's it does, but its not that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: great headphones for its price and i'd reccomend theese to everyone who needs a headset

Pros: Good bass response, overall good quality of sound. Inline volume/mic mute switch is always handy. 3.5" connectors instead of USB.

Cons: Uncomfortable for long periods of use. Right headphone spins 360° (not supposed to but happened after a year of use).

Other Thoughts: Overall a good buy for a casual user. These headphones used to hurt after about 3 hours of prolonged use, but I think I got used to it. Mic is very good quality and the sound is fantastic.

Rating + 4 Great headphones

Pros: the sound I found was great. I wanted headphones that could pick up bass and these did just that. Great quality for the price.

Cons: After a few hours of wearing my left ear started to hurt but humans wern't meant to sit in front of a computer for hours or have head sets on for that matter.

Other Thoughts: They ended up breaking because one of my friends stepped on them and killed them... the left ear piece broke off. Just don't step on them and kick them.

Rating + 2 Made for people who like bass

Pros: They create sound

Cons: I read all the reviews of these and thought I knew what I was getting into. I expected a fairly straight forward set of headphones and a decent mic. Maybe I got a bad set. First, the comfort. I expected these to be the old style surround my ear type headphones, they're not. They have the big padding like they should but apparently my ears are too big. Be aware that the inner dimension of the cups is about 1.5" width by 1.75" tall. Measure your ears. Next complaint, audio quality. They are overly bassy (sp?). I had to crank treble to 100% and lower bass to 35% to get what I consider a proper balance. Otherwise, cover yours ears and talk, that's what they sound like. I think it was made to impress the crowd that runs around with huge subs but forgets to upgrade the rest of the system.

Other Thoughts: I listen to a lot of music, dabble in audio recording, play guitar, and lots of video games. I know good sound when I hear it. I rolled the dice and lost this time. I've found some great cheap sets before, but they don't make them any more. I spent a lot of time looking over 10 - 70 sets on Newegg, knowing that I didn't want to spend that much cause I would just end up rolling over the cord with my chair and busting it anyway. Hope this review helps you out.

Rating + 3 Good While They Last

Pros: They are comfortable and sound very good. The microphone picks up very well.

Cons: Well, I've gone through three pairs in one year. One pair snapped in half when I tripped on the cord. The second bit the dust when the wire got kinked. The third I have right now. The microphone bit the dust first, then the earpieces starting coming apart. Gotta buy a new headset before Quakecon.

Other Thoughts: The microphone is always the first thing that breaks.

Pros: been using these for 3 months now, and they seem to be doing very well at the moment. i play first person shooters and i also use these in a ventrillo server and i dont have a problem with them...Mic is crisp and clear... if ur looking to buy something in this price range, get these... although if u wanna spend a little more go for the Creative FATAL1TY headset.

Cons: construction is a bit dodgy...

Other Thoughts: they look flimsy although they can take a beating from chair yanks and stretching and twisting, etc...

10-25 dollars- get these!

35-60 dollars- Creative FATAL1TY

70- 100 dollars- Sennheiser HD555 with a Logitech desktop mic

hope this helps :)

Rating + 5 Great headset

Pros: I've been really impressed with the quality of this headset. They sound great, they are very comfortable, their cord is long enough that you don't need to worry about it comfortably reaching from the back of your PC to your head and overall its just an amazing product. I use this for gaming, music and teamspeak/ventrilo and they work really great for all of the uses.

Cons: About the only thing I can think of as a con is that they arn't really travel friendly. I originally ordered them becuause I travel alot for work and my headphones for that have seen better days. They are kinda big and bulky to travel with thou. I use these at home and am very happy with them thou.

Rating + 2 Not very durable

Pros: Sound quality isn't too bad for the money. Not too uncomfortable to wear

Cons: This is the second Plantronics headset that failed the same way, an intermittent connection where the cable joins the headset. Last I checked the mic still worked though. There is no strain relief here. I did not use these long before they began to fail. First one side and now the other. Except for the most expensive models, none have a strain relief. A design goof IMHO.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace a lower priced Plantronics, on which the microphone cable failed first. Now the headphones failed too. Maybe try the $4.99 Rosewill. At least those have a strain relief or maybe the SENNHEISER PC151. Probably invest in a communications grade headset instead.

Pros: Excellent sound quality, people have no trouble hearing me through ventrilo.

Cons: They're a bit uncomfortable at times due to the weight, however they're much more comfortable for me than the behind the ear style head phones.

Pros: Good sound for the price, bought this to replace my logitech headset. Has bass hits and the mic is good and clear in ventrillo, have to set my sensitivity really low, but it only picks up my voice and no ambiant sound. This headset drowns out alot of sound and I wear them for hours at a time with no pain or discomfort.

Cons: makes you ur ears sweat lol not USB but i have a converter :-) over all a great buy for the price though.

Other Thoughts: Would recomend these to anyone who is looking for a replacement for a headset.

Pros: I've had this headset for over a year and 6 months now, it looks like its brand new! I've used this headset at least 4 times a week, 6+ hours a day and they function like new! Quality headsets from Plantronics. They are very comfortable when i'm not wearing glasses but when I have glasses on, they hurts after 3+ hours of wearing them. Don't spend $50+ on a headset, just get these Plantronics.

Cons: bought from a retail store instead of newegg because of the shipping charges =D.

Other Thoughts: BUY THEM!

Rating + 5 Just what I wanted

Pros: I wanted a headset with good volume, spatial sound, and a clear microphone that wouldn't keep me chained to the PC chair. I used this with Skype and various team speak programs, most notably Ventrillo. The general consensus was that my headset had the best mic around. The volume is enough to lay them on your shoulders around your neck and listen if you're alone.

Doesn't grab my hair and pull it out by the roots. I hate that.

Cons: while these are some of the most comfortable headphones I've ever had, they still hurt after >6-8 hours of constant wear, but ONLY because I wear glasses and it pinches the ear around the arm of the glasses.

Traumatic, sudden, and very high tension on the cord (i.e. yanking the cord as hard as possible and in such a way that it can't just come out of the hole) is the only way I think you could destroy these. They've been dropped, kicked, jostled, and packed with hard, heavy gear. They hold up great. Just don't rip at the cord.

Other Thoughts: My mom visited and tripped on the cord (the cord is really long, but she caught it on the floor anyways) and snapped the cord where the I/O fork. I went directly to Best Buy the same day to get another pair of these because I would want nothing else.

Pros: Does what it is sopose to. Has pretty good sound for 20 bucks includeing bass. The mic is nice & clear sounding.Useing with xfire, Ventrilo & yahoo messanger. The mic is also a little bendible so u can customize a little more on the angle you want it.

Cons: Telescoping part of the mic does'nt move very far at all, but not an issue as the mic can swing up or down out of the way.

Other Thoughts: For 20 bucks your not gonna get anything better. Also cord is just under 10 feet long & has nice volume & mice mute control.

Pros: They worked.

Cons: Cheap plastic, bad build quality, uncomfortable ear pieces that promote sweating, poor microphone.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a replacement headset for my plantronics audio 90s, and these were the closest thing I could find. Big mistake.

Please consider the Plantronics Gamecons instead of these, they are the new version of the Audio 90s.

Rating + 5 Excellent headset.

Pros: This is my 3rd headset this year and probably the last new one for a few years. Quality build, comfortable, and quality sound, excellent mic. Providing it lasts I'll be using it for a while. Best of all, has the exact right amount of room on the side to place a trackclip pro (track IR accessory) so that it rests flush with your head, not digging in. This, by itself, makes this headset gold.

Cons: Cord is way too thin, and I'm always afraid of rolling over it with my office chair and cutting it.

Other Thoughts: Excellent quality headset. Cheap price makes it even more attractive.

Rating + 5 Great sound

Pros: I can get pretty picky when it comes to audio headwear, but I think that the sound from this headphone is really great; it's replaced my monitor headphones for casual listening since I'm too lazy to keep switching headphones. All ranges come through clear -- the highs aren't tinny, and the bass gives a good thump.

The mic picks up cleanly, as one would expect from the brand. The boom is stiff and holds its shape well, and it folds back without a fuss when you don't need it.

It's pretty comfortable to wear a length. Adjust it just so that it rests on your head and you're good to go for hours.

Constructed pretty well, too. It won't feel like it's about the break in your hands, and I've snagged and abused it a few times and it's come through okay.

Cons: If you have large ears, your ears might get pinched since the foam cups are a slight small.

Other than that, the lack of included cable management might be a bit of a pain if you use audio ports on the front of your box, but it's nothing a piece of velcro cable organizer can't fix.

Pros: Extremely comfortable, and covers my whole ear. The mic is a bit retractable and it has a foam cover to block out background noise. The cable is nice and long, so I can wire it around and not have such a birds nest of cables under my desk.

Cons: The sound quality isn't really great compared to my Logitech headset I used to have.

Other Thoughts: I give it a 5 because it arrived fast and I can use it for more than just gaming.

Rating + 2 Ehhh, not what I expected

Pros: Not very many. Only thing I can think of is the comfortableness of the top of the headset's leather padding.

Cons: Square-shaped earphones? I've never in my life seen this before. The thing hurts my ears within an hour of having them on. The mic feels very stiff when you try to move it. For serious gamers (I play competitive Counter-Strike 1.6), look elsewhere. My cheaper set of Alt*c L*nsings sounded clearer than this. This 350 sounds more bassy, I had to mess with my sound controls in windows, but never had the treble clarity I needed.

Other Thoughts: Go spend a little more money and it will be well worth the investment.

Pros: Great headphones, I bought these from worstebuy about 9 months ago. They are still in great condition. I have dropped them numerous times. Unlike previous headphones I have had the mic hasn't died out, and the inline volume control hasn't made the headset die out prematurely like the last 3 headsets I have owned over the past couple of years.

Cons: Mic input quality is sub-par. The ear pieces are square.

Other Thoughts: If I had to buy another set of headphones again I would not hesitate, however I would definitely check out the Supra-aural if I knew they were around.

Rating + 4 Not a bad deal

Pros: Very good bass response with music/dvd's. Bought these for my laptop so I could listen to music and the like.

Cons: Wire where the cable meets the plug is weak. If you plug/unplug this alot or there's a bunch of movement, you will have issues. A good fix for these would be spring bend limiters where the cable meets the plug...but sadly plantronics didn't do this. So be careful.

Other Thoughts: I've used these to talk in Ventrilo/skype and they work great for that! I'm actually going to get another pair for the desktop and a replacement pair for the laptop. I'm very happy with this product, despite the one con above. I'll just have to manually reinforce that issue.

Rating + 4 One of the better headsets I've found for the price

Pros: I have purchased several sets of these over the last few years, and I found that they are surprisingly good quality for such an affordable price.

There are several things about them I found:

They have very good microphone quality, compared to other headsets.

They are also, contrary to other reviews, very comfortable, they fit around my ears very nicely and rarely cause any pain. Although there is some discomfort after ~5-9 hours of continuous usage.

Cons: Several things could be improved upon:

The sound quality is not the greatest, but is still very good. There are some aspects of it that could be improved however.

The construction is somewhat flimsy! Be careful with these headphones, I have broken 2 pairs of them in the last 3 years. Although mostly due to my dropping them, or the cord getting tugged on, they are certainly not designed to take a beating!

Other Thoughts: Very nice headphones. It's hard to find headphones that have a good microphone and are comfortable for this low of a price. Will diffidently be buying more pairs of these in the future should my current pair ever die! :D

Rating + 4 Good headphones

Pros: Very good sound quality and microphone performance(I have a Creative x-Fi Extreme Gamer SC). Long cord.

Cons: As some others have mentioned they can be a bit uncomfortable if used for extended periods.

Other Thoughts: I cut pieces out of a thin, cotton t-shirt and stretched them over the headphone cups using small double-sided tape to attach them. Now the headphones are extremely comfortable for extended use, and it doesn't seem to have effected sound quality at all. Kind of ghetto I know, but it works great, and is easily reversible, replaceable.

Pros: The sound quality is quite good. No background hissing, clicks or pops. The mic is good. Folks on the other end have no problems understanding me.

Cons: Pain! They are poorly designed the ear cups aren't quite circum-aural and they are angled so that the front of the ear cups are bent inwards. Maybe there are folks whose heads are markedly narrower at their face and wider at the back. Mine isn't.

Other Thoughts: The head adjustments are weak which causes them to slip and are easily dis-adjusted.

Pros: Decent sound great for gaming, microphone is flexible and sound is clear. Comfortable enough for long-term gaming.
Especially long cord, inline volume control (though I do not use it).

Cons: Bass could be a bit more defined, but these are tuned for gaming, so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Used playing many hours of WoW - they work great.

Rating + 5 Much better than expected

Pros: I primarily bought this for Vent/TS only. So I had just put it in my Realtek intergrated. First thing people said was, "Did you get a new mic?". So after talking for a bit i decide to listen to a song. The sound quality was OK. So I decided to plug it into my audigy 2, and there was a night and day difference between the highs and lows of sound.

Cons: Headset can take about a week for your ears to start feeling comfortable in it. And the others complaining about the bass should possibly get a sound card.

Other Thoughts: Way better than expected + Newegg shipped a day late, but compensated for it by giving me 2nd day airmail ;D

Pros: Its cheap, does the job, microphone is not too bad on it, fairly durable.

Cons: When the volume is low, you get a decent balance between low mid and high end. Once you start turning up the volume, the low and mid stay the same and you just get an uncomfortably large amount of of high end. Not fun sounding...

Other Thoughts: working a minimum wage job and want to have decent sound, get it, other then that, get a raise or a new job, but until then this will get you by.

Rating + 3 My Ears hurt!

Pros: Sound quality decent, you pay for what you get, these aren't meant to be high end music headphones. Mic boom is flexibile enough to stay out of your face.

Cons: I mostly use these for playing BF2 and anytime I play for less more than about an hour they start to hurt. A couple of hours of playing and my ears are ready to come off!

Other Thoughts: Not bad for the price but since my son chewed on the mic and it no longer works I am going to try some others around the same price point.

Rating + 5 Great for Gaming

Pros: Comfortable. Those people that complain about the comfort of these phones must have larger than normal heads. They fit nicely over a pair of glasses. The mice folds up and away. The sound in CoD4 is crisp and clear with the right amount of boom in the gunfire and explosions. The mic is very clear.

Cons: I don't use the inline volume/mute control, but the unit itself feels cheap, and switches are small and not very convenient.

Other Thoughts: I have read many of the reviews here stating that the mids are distant, and whatever. I really don't believe these are for listening to music. They really sound like they were optimized for gaming. What does that word mean?? Well, who knows exactly, but they sound right on when playing a FPS. Audible, they put you right there in the warzone, and that's what THIS gamer wanted.

Rating + 5 Buy These Now, You WON'T Regret

Pros: Where do I start? They were only $20! They sound excellent, the mic is crystal clear online in games, voice chat, etc. Everyone compliments me on the clarity! The noise cancellation works very well, and the mic is very adjustable. It's extendable and flexible, so you can put it in any position that suits you, or even stow it when not in use.

Cons: I was going to give these 4 stars, because after wearing for a couple hours they start to hurt my ears. But considering the price and value, I went ahead and gave 'em 5. The padding is sufficient, I just tend to wear them for extended periods.

Other Thoughts: To restate what I said: music and gaming sound great on these. The mic is perfect and crystal clear. You WILL NOT be dissapointed with this headset, especially for the price. I was very surprised at the very high quality. Everyone thinks I paid $100 for these!

Rating + 5 Great all purpose headset...

Pros: Sound is super clear, mic works great, ear cups are darn comfortable, cord is nice and long, connectors are small and it has a shirt clip. I used these for Team Fortress 2 (replaced the one that came with Guild Wars) and they are fantastic! I decided to bring 'em into work (I work at a call center) and they are still fantastic!

Cons: Great all around, not excellent at any... But, for the price, you can't beat it!

Other Thoughts: People have been talking that they break over a short period of time. I would gladly buy another set if mine broke after only 6 months (or even four)

Rating + 2 Great Mic, Awful Earphones

Pros: The mic is very good. People on vent tell me its very clear.

Cons: Where to start. Well, the sound. Its awful. Mids are very distant. Highs dont exist. Bass lacks punch. Music will sound atrocious, and if you use vent/teamspeak, it can be hard to hear at times because there is poor separation of sound with these cans.

Also, the earphones require constant adjusting, as they are pretty loose on the adjustable part of the band and will slide up and down all the time.

Other Thoughts: I have been really disappointed with these headset. They replaced a set of Plantronics that I had, and loved, for years, and Im about to replace these with a different brand.

Im not an audiophile, but the sound quality on these is just too poor for me to tolerate. I'll put it this way -- Apples iPod buds sounds a lot crisper than these do.

Don't waste your money on this headset.

Pros: Excellent ear coverage and 3.5mm jack means fast sound delivery in games.

Cons: Not as good as $100 Sennheisers or the Plantronics Audio 360 model

Other Thoughts: If I had to choose between spending about $7 more and getting the newer/better 360s I would do it. I have both and the 360s are much better. I closeted my 350s in case I need them for backup.

Pros: Good mic and good sound.

Cons: They HURT within 30 mins of gaming. You see, these are circum-aural, which means they go AROUND the ear. Normally around-the ear headphones are big and round, these are small and square, and my ears are in pain after about 1/2 hour of gaming (see others reviews below too).

Other Thoughts: getting the plantronics GAMECOM 1 supra-aural next....

Pros: Pretty comfortable, adjustable, I like the fact you can move the mic around. The mic and headphones are pretty good.

Cons: Took me awhile to set up and configure, not the products fault though. You had to run the new hardware wizard that came with audio drivers on mobo. After that worked great!

Other Thoughts: Probably cheapest, best option for casual gamers.

Pros: Lightweight, the inline volume is better than a lot of headsets. Doesn't weigh a lot.

Cons: Sound quality is not good at all. Bass is barely passable, highs are mediocre, mids sound distant. Distorts sound extremely bad when turned up loud. Doesn't get very loud. Band at the top is an illusion...it doesn't automatically adjust to your head size like it looks like, you have to slide it. Very uncomfortable.

Other Thoughts: Thought i'd try a different brand and was dissapoited. Should have sprung for the icemats :P. My old Altec Lansing headphones cost less sound better.

Pros: Overall, I'm pleased. Sound quality seems great for the most part. Durable. Comfortable. Mic works well. Does a good job of muffling noise around you (ie, if you're trying to listen to music while the TV is on).

Cons: Sounds do sometimes seem "hollow" as someone else put it. Other than that, it can get slightly uncomfortable after a long while with it on, but a short break should fix that.

Other Thoughts: The low price more than makes up for the cons.

Rating + 4 They sound great but...

Pros: they fit well around the ear, unlike other headsets that I have used these are some of the most comfortable things that have ever been on my head, the bass is clear I really can feel it. the cord is long enough for me and the sound is very clear. the microphone works well in games, people in teamspeak/games can understand me well.

Cons: They are pretty sturdy headphones, going to lan party's every other week I stuff them into a bag and throw every other accessory on them. however the cords wiring is starting to go bad, I replaced these things half a year ago with a new pair of the same thing and half a year later, the wiring is starting to go bad again. the sound still sounds good but the little volume scroll on the cord is almost dead, the microphone mute is worn and slides back and fourth unless I hold it down.

Other Thoughts: This is a great pair of headphones, I recommend getting a two year warranty plan with them.

Pros: great sound, pretty good durability, mic works good, very comfortable.

Cons: well, just a little bit after i got these (july 8th 2006) the cord started shorting (about 30-35 days after, so no best buy return for me >.<) so i was living with it and just putting the cable i na kinked position to make it work
it eventually pretty much stopped working at all.

Other Thoughts: i found this on newegg looking for a new replacement. well, i was going to return this to plantronics, so i had it in its packaging for the last like 10 months, and i kept putting it off, and i eventually forgot, and i remembered 3 days after my 1 year warranty expired >.< it was shorting by the plug, so i think im going to put a new end on it.

Pros: For the price this headphone is a marvelous piece of equipment. The headphone is excellent with plenty of bass and treble to be heard. Head phones not on too tight so ears were pretty comfortable even though I wear glasses. Microphone is extremely responsive in a good way. The cord is thicker then most head cords adding much needed strength.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: Even though the cord is thick, all headsets of mine and others seem to wear and tear where the cord meets the volume adjustment piece. I hope this headset wont suffer the same fate 6 months in.

Pros: Really great sound, powerful drivers. The mic is crystal clear, and incredibly adjustable with a 1/2" telescope and bendable arm. Very comfortable.

Cons: Ears hurt a bit after a couple hours of use, taking 5 minute breaks every couple hours makes it fine (really a 5 min break every couple hours shouldn't be a problem). The mic can be a bit quiet but if you enable mic boost it sounds great since it does such a great job of preventing noise.

Other Thoughts: Best headset for the price.

Pros: Awesome bass response. Makes my trance and house sound like I'm there! The mic is very responsive. The construction is very sturdy, tho I don't think I'm gonna be throwing them around like the guy before me.

Cons: Mic isn't uni-directional. I picks up everything around you, so beware of this. Not a major problem for me since I live alone in a quiet neighborhood.

Other Thoughts: I've had many headsets in my day, and if you take care of them, they will last a long time, just like everything else in life. I've rarely had a negative issue with many products I've bought, so with this in mind, the review posted before mine shouldn't cause too much alarm. Just take all criticism and make your own valued judgement.

Rating + 2 Lacking as an headset

Pros: The construction of the headphone is good enough to not worry about it snapping it in half if you were to accidentally sit on or throw it. The actual microphone works as advertised and comes out reasonably clear enough.

Cons: For the money you couldn't possibly expect to much out of this headset, but I found the sound quality to be extremely lacking. The bass effect in these headphones is really quite comparable to raising all of your equalizer bars on the left side (low frequencies) completely up; while leaving the middle/right side (middle/high frequencies) completely flat. I've never heard a headphone turn any of my songs, voices, or even games into something as bad as this headphone outputs. It outputs a very bass boosted sound at the expense of very shallow sound stage (distant and hollow sound).
The ergonomics of the headphones are also quite bad, but bearable.

Other Thoughts: A few people have had their mini-jack connections for their headphone and/or microphone come loose internally within a month, and that really shouldn't happen so quickly.

Cons: After a while the headset could hurt your ears, this happened to me, but I set the speakers lower on my ears and now I can use them for a longer time period.

Pros: low cost - went to CC and got the same deal as the previous reviewer - they matched the web price in store. Certainly the best sounding and most comfortable things I've seen under $40, l0gitech precision's are a little more comfortable, IMO, but these sound better (and cost less, at least in retail stores). Bass is great, sometimes too great - highs are good overall but sometimes a little weak, but for the price you cant go wrong.

Cons: They don't really seem made for the long haul, but then again, you're not exactly going to be moving around with these.

Pros: This thing has amazing sound quality. I got it at Circuit City for 19.99, they have them on sale on their website now. You cannot beat the quality for the price. Not only do they look sleek, but they perform very well.

Cons: The cord is way too long, but this is a personal gripe.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why people complain about the ergonomics of the square ear pieces. If you look at them they are actually shaped like an ear. A round earpiece is much less ergonomic, as ears or not round. Anyways, the ear piece is shaped to be comfortable to a wide variety of ear shapes. This is an excellent set of headphones, you can't beat it.

Rating + 5 Music to my ears....

Pros: I have big ears... Dumbo would even agree... finding a headset that does not hurt them is hard to do, but these are the best so far. I have tried a lot of "wrap style" headsets, but they where garbage. I tried the Logitech 350, USB is nice, but they hurt after awhile, the HUGE Altec Lansing AHS602I.. the sound from these are amazing, but the in-line control stick is junk and they weighed alot... but the Plantronics is sweeeeet, sound nice and weigh little. The head-strap tension is light and does not "squeeze" my head into oblvion... my head is on the large size as well... man I am goofy look'n... anyhow, one of the best headsets for me yet.

Cons: The MIC orientation is only on the left side; not universal like most others.... but that is all I have some across.

Other Thoughts: I used the Plantronics switch "thingy" (PLANTRONICS P/N 67526-01 a.k.a. P/N 62085-01) (lets me switch between my regular PC speakers and the headphones at, well, at a switch of a button... nice config and been looking for something like this for a looooong time.

It is almost not a con that they sit on my ear but I am kind of old school and it is hard to change my ways :) It is very hard to find a COMFORTABLE nice quality headset that your ears sit inside of :(

Other Thoughts: I tried three sets: Logitech 980369-0403, Altec Lansing AHS515, and These Plantronics. Although the Altec Lansing had the best sound quality by a small margin the comfort issue is huge to me. The Logitechs killed my head. These Plantronics had the best all around package between sound quality and comfort. I purhased all 3 sets at BB because I wanted them now and knew I would be returning a couple sets. I did not want to deal with RMAing 3 sets and paying a restock fee. Newegg is great for almost everything else though :)

Pros: Nice feel on your head, comfterable. good sound quality, speakers.

Cons: poor mic, cable ends seem weak.

Other Thoughts: seems nice so far, especially with BF2142. I only worry that the end connectors are weak and may break off eventualy, like others have said. very nice for games for 20 bucks.

Pros: Sounds great, mic works great picks up alot (Even the speakers if its up all the way, even when on your head!)
Very comfortable, after you get used to it.

Cons: The volume on the mic is very cheap, doesnt turn off all the way... The worst part about this mic was the jacks, after about 2 months the microphone jack suddenly messed up, had to jiggle it. Cut it off, bought a new jack and soldered it... Worked for 2 weeks, broke again. Out of cable now so I need a new headset!

Other Thoughts: Not going to buy another one of this model, maybe the USB version. I didnt really treat it that well, packing it in my backpack twice a week to college, which is why its still 5

Pros: My friend wanted a good headset without breaking the bank so I got him this one. Sleek looking headset with large speakers and an expandable microphone. Great for the price.

Cons: He's not complaining.

Other Thoughts: Would buy another one if I needed another headset.
