Great Printer
Pros: Easy to troubleshoot because screen on printer tells you whats wrong and how to fix it.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I bought this printer for my grandmother who is very tech illiterate. After I installed it, I haven't heard from her about it! She usually calls me twice a week for anything computer, none for this! She loves that the printer will tell her how to fix whats wrong!

Works good
Pros: Worked right out of the box. Before even installing on the computer which did not take any effort, I printed a photo from an SD card. Very nice quality.
Cons: None yet.

Pros: Takes up so much less space than my printer and scanner did independently. The scanner is much faster and quieter (almost no sound) than my circa 2000 once. The printer does not shake the desk when working as my HP Deskjet 5550 did.
Cons: When printing the paper comes back out on top of the pile and you have to pull out this extension to keep if from making a mess. The extension arm feels flimsy and gets in the way, but is a hassle to open it and put it back each time. However, I think they did the best they could in order to keep this a spacesaver.

Great Printer
Pros: This printer is Great! it makes nice prints and the ink is cheap $20.00 for both color & black (from Newegg)
Easy setup only took 15 minuets (thats includeing the time to find a open power outlet)
it has a built in card reader.
small LCD screen for selecting pictures to print from the card reader
Cons: Ok now for the cons.
no USB port would have been nice to have a usb port and the built in card reader like other Photosmart printers
the software is a little hungry for memory
Other Thoughts: over all this is a Great Printer and i would buy another without a second thought

HP Photosmart C4280
Pros: So far, I really like this printer. I was amazed how fast it prints. You can also choose print quality and prints look great. The top screen is also very handy to have.
Cons: I liked the software for Lexmark better but the Lexmark All-in-one didn't even compare to the HP All-in-one.
Other Thoughts: Newegg is awesome as always! Very easy and hassle free. Also shipped very fast. I have never had any issued with Newegg and will continue to order their great products!

DOA
Pros: NewEgg's customer service is the best around!!!
Cons: Printer was DOA. The LCD and most of the buttons did NOT work at all right out of the box!!!
Other Thoughts: HP customer service said that this happens from time to time just send it back for a New one. Newegg's customer service was GREAT they had no problem giving me an RMA number and helped me with the return shipping label and thats why I gave it 2 stars for now. I will write another review once I receive the replacement printer.

Great for the Money
Pros: For the money you spend for this printer you cant beat it It cost just as much money to buy this printer as buying new ink for my old printer.I needed a 3 in 1 printer for a while now this is the ticket ink is cheeper than my old H/P printer my old printer was just a printer so for me this is a better deal
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I wish it had a fax built in, I hope it last for the price my last HP printer I had for 6 years it still works great I hope this upgraded HP 3 in 1 printer last just as long or longer.

Refurb Purchase
Pros: I bought a refurbished open box HP C4280, and it works awesome. Came with everything except a USB cable. Had trouble installing the software from CD on to windows Vista. Downloaded the drivers from HP and it worked Fine. My my Eee PC 900 running Linux recognized it instantly, and worked perfectly. Bought it for 30 bucks since it was open box, but it was obviously never used do to all the packaging around the printer looked untouched.
Cons: Lacks a tilt LCD which would be helpful.

Very nice ... I like!
Pros: Major pro is cheap price. Also, I bought some extra toners for cheap from BJs, just in case, and I have not use the ones that came with the printer yet. Not too bad for this price. Easy to install, even without the bloated HP software, and it works greaton day-to-day b/w and color printing. It actually prints very nice on photo paper. It is very lightweight.
Cons: Paper tray (or lack of it) is designed weird. It is fairly loud unfortunately, and not very fast. But for day-to-day home printing I have no problem with that.
Other Thoughts: I wish it would come in black shell :)

Great Printer!
Pros: Great workhorse of a printer. I use it constantly at work with NO problems! This is such a good printer, I bought two for other departments and one for home. The ink cartridges are pretty inexpensive for HP too.
Cons: Ink cartridges don't seem to last as long. Maybe that is why they are a bit cheaper.

Cheap & good
Pros: Cheap and easy to install. Great for everyday home printing.
Goes on standby when it's idle which makes it great for connecting to a print server, without being a power hog.
Cons: Does not include include it's own USB cable

I'm buying another one now
Pros: What I like about Hp products is that they make one for every budget. My budget is really low so I bought this one. It works great, you can readily buy the knock-off ink cartridges that are cheaper at the big box office supply stores. I gave a perfectly good Hp 1315 all-in-one to my mother but she done broke it so I'm buying her a 4280 from New Egg after I finish this review. Hope she doesnt pull out the cartridges while its moving again, that foolish old witch. Anyways, this is a good basic copier-scanner-printer and it does a terrific job.
Cons: I agree with one other reviewer about paper getting rough treatment soon after it comes out of the chute. Its sounds like the 4280 had a bad day at the office. But as long as it doesnt start ruining the documents its OK. My 4280 hasn't wrinkled a paper yet.
Other Thoughts: Never printed a photo from this unit because I doubt it will look as good as a 29c drug store print, but it may look better than I think. However it prints well from the internet and it scans photos very clearly. Also it comes in handy when you need to copy something.

You get what you pay for
Pros: Has memory card reader and LCD panel, works fine for everyday use. For included funtionality you can't beat the it at the price range.
Cons: No USB cable ($3.00 on the web so what could it cost HP) Chain Stores try to gouge $30.00 plus so buy it on the web. Software is limited and slow to load initially, but what do you want for a sun $100 all-in-one? Paying the price when you need new cartridges..
Other Thoughts: I feel this a good buy for the money compared to it's competition. Installed nicely under Vista and scans are clear.

Bad Design
Pros: Never got to find out.
Cons: The ink cartridges are snapped into place by a flimsy wire. The black cartridge never stayed latched in, and the color one got loose after i pulled it out twice. This is a badly designed product, I cannot see how it would stand up to repeated ink changes.
Other Thoughts: I never had problems with HP printers, but this design was very poor. Don't buy this printer.

Not too shabby
Pros: Loaded with features. Does passable photos and is pretty quick for a budget AIO.
Cons: Not the fastest. Paper pickup is grabby toward the bottom of the stack. Keep it loaded with at least 10 sheets.
Other Thoughts: A previous reviewer stated that you can use HP96 and HP97 cartridges. That's NOT true at least for the latest version. If you buy them, the printer will reject them and you will have wasted $80. Get the HP 74XL and 75XL cartridges instead as they are genuine HP and approved for this printer.

Fairly Dissapointed
Pros: It does work with vista, as apposed to our old printer (PSC 2110). Pretty fast.
Cons: Terrible photo printing, you can see all of the different colors it uses layered on to of eachother. Nothing like seeing a red dot where you have water. Our 5 year old PSC 2110 works way better.
Other Thoughts: We wouldn't have bought it, but Apple had a full rebate of the price for when you buy a new computer.

HP is now on my banned list
Pros: I liked the fact that the cartridges align by scanning them. Near borderless printing on 8.5"x 11"
Cons: HP set up the installer to NOT install on any server OS (2000, 2003, Home Server). Not because of compatibility issues but because then they could steer a person to a much more expensive printer. I will never buy a HP printer again.
Other Thoughts: Although I bought this printer directly from HP I had to share my thoughts. Thanks to Jeff for mentioning the work around to get the software to install on a server OS. It worked like a charm!

I'd buy another one
Pros: It does everything it is supposed to do, and it does it well. I do somewhat high volume printing I need rather fast (from time to time) and I'm a cheapskate. This combo fits the bill.
Cons: The included software took a long time (duration not tedium)to install, but even with all components installed it uses minimal resources.
Other Thoughts: I'd buy another one.

HP drivers suck!
Pros: I wish review editing/appending was available.
Cons: I ran the driver on my machine and I only had the option to Exit, no Install button was there.
In order to install the driver on Windows Home Server (Server 2003) you need to do the following steps:
1. run the installer 2. copy the "c:\temp\" it creates to the desktop - this is the uncompressed driver and support apps 3. Right-click the setup.exe, choose properties, and set it to XP Compatibility under the Compatibility tab. 4. Click OK and then double-click the setup.exe app 5. Now you can install as usual. If you encounter a problem during install where it states the product type does not match, Ctrl-Shift-Left Mouse Button on Cancel to bypass it.
Other Thoughts: I can't believe that HP would specifically engineer their driver installer to avoid certain OS's. I'm sure their enterprise equipment would install on Server 2003 without needing to be tricked into doing so.

Not bad... not amazing either.
Pros: This is a decent little AIO and the price is reasonable. My initial reaction was that I had wasted my money after reading reviews elsewhere but that isn't the case, yet.
It's not super fast but it'll do a full page of color in the highest rez mode in a few minutes. The scanner (at least doing a B&W copy) looks like it's pretty decent. It takes HP 96 and 97 cartridges instead of the anemic 74 and 75. It seems to be built well and isn't as loud as I have read elsewhere. Photo printouts on photo (epson matte) paper examined under a 10x loupe show very precise and well formed dots.
Cons: The driver CD has PC and Mac drivers, or at least it ought to. The CD I received had no PC readable volume and the drivers don't install under OSX 10.5 (Leopard). Software Update will download a print-only driver but scanning software is being worked on.
I downloaded the PC drivers but my PC was having a problem running the driver package. That's probably my fault since the computer in question has been needing a reformat for a year now.
Nowhere does anyone mention that you can use #96 and #97 inks instead of 74 and 75.
Stand-alone copying seems to only print B&W.
Other Thoughts: I'm getting back into HP after owning an Epson R200 for a while. A couple nozzles have been permanently blocked and no amount of cleaning cycles could fix them. Last week, the black printhead burnt up when it ran out of ink and I've been trying to find a cheap and decent AIO for occasional photo printing and scanning.
This seems to fill the bill. It's tiny, fairly quiet, and if a nozzle gets stuck, I can remove it to try and unstick it or throw it out for a new one.
I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to even invoke the driver installer program on my XP machine and that my 10.5 machine had a "barely there" print-only driver available. Plus the fact that the CD arrived with no PC drivers (I heard one other report mention that) gives a pretty sour initial experience.
Overall, this is a good printer for the money. The photos, even with out the #99 photo cartridge are very good. The printing speed isn't amazing but it gets the job done.

Not what I expected!
Pros: Nice look, HP Solution software works great. Scans perfect, copies are great.
Cons: Very loud when printing. Printed Text looks good until the end of the line then the text starts going up and down like hills. Very crooked. Alignment did not correct this.
Other Thoughts: I will RMA this and get a replacement. I would suggest spending a little more for a better printer!
