Perfect
Pros: Great photo-quality prints, cheaper than other equivalent printers, doesn't hog ink (which is cheaper than other brands, also). High quality prints don't bleed or smear.
Cons: Duplex printing would be nice on this model, but I certainly don't need it.
Other Thoughts: I purchased the open box version with the express purpose of printing my own wedding invitations, and not only did it not have a problem with the non-standard paper size, but they look BEAUTIFUL. Printed over 130, and the ink isn't even at half on any tank. Almost makes me sad for buying the extra ink ahead of time! :D If you need a printer that will do great prints without slinging ink all over, this is it.

Fast, Economical
Pros: Fast at this price. Works well shared on a network. Really nice print quality. Copies are simple and not much effort. Terrific printer for high school student and family. And quite a deal from Newegg
Cons: No duplex printing, but not a deal breaker.
Other Thoughts: I own an MP830, MP610 (my fav), and now this MP520. Each has varied feature sets. All share CLI-8 & PGI-5 individual ink catridges. This is very important; saves money and a lot of hassles trying to keep enough of the right cartridge in stock at home.

Pros: Its a printer that works and works fairly fast, all you really need in printer.
Cons: Software install takes up a good chunk of room, it doesn't have network capabilities.

Pros: Great quality/ eazy to use and scan.
Cons: Hard to replace the ink cartridge with a generic refill. There is a chip in the cartridge that comes with it that you have to remove and place in the generic cartridge. Then you get lots of warning messages. I guess they want you to buy the Cannon refills at 3 times the price

Nice Printer
Pros: Nice quality prints/scans for not much of a price. What more can I say. Comes with photo paper, mostly use it to print documents for school.
Cons: Bit slow printing, but most printers are, this isn't a big con. Couldn't find the printer/computer usb cable in huge box it came in, bought one of Newegg for ~$15. Bulky software, good for beginners.
Other Thoughts: Three times now I randomly walk past it, and it makes a random noise. Scares me half to death.

Very satisfied
Pros: We've only used the printer for a couple of days, but we're very satisfied. The photos are the same quality as from a photo store and text printing quality is also great. We don't know yet how much ink it uses, so I may update this review later on. It's easy to install, following the clear instructions. If you are not a complete beginner with computers and printers, it will be easy to start using it immediately, without even reading the Quick Start Guide. The two trays are very convenient. In short, we love it so far.
Cons: Not really a cons, just a note on the printer size, for those who are interested. This is definitely not a small printer, but you can't expect something smaller with two trays and all the functions. If you have problems with space, you should go to a store to get an idea of how much space it takes.
Other Thoughts: We were very satisfied with shipping, we chose free ground shipping (3-5 days) and the printer arrived in two days. Everything in the box was intact, the USB cable is not included, as you probably know by now. Thank you Newegg!

Very satisfied
Pros: Great price! All features works great. Pictures better than average quality
Cons: Size, time to warm up
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great printer. Canon always deliver. Installation and setup was a breeze. The refills are way cheaper than your average budget printer. I tend to print in grey scale a lot and the blk cartridge uses the pigment coloring system vs the dye. (Dyes are better for photos). So far so good. I paid 89.99 with free shipping!!! This price could not be beat. Thanks Newegg.com

Decent printer, great deal
Pros: Decent print quality; not the best printer for photos (still acceptable however) but a pretty good all-around multifunction. Scan quality is pretty good. Consumer Reports did pretty well to recommend this printer.
Cons: The tiny ink tanks will run out fast.
The main problem for me with this printer is the ridiculous firmware design of the printer. One of the major selling points to me was the memory card reader. However, this printer will not allow you write access to the card by default. To write or delete from a memory card, you must use the printer menus to select read/write mode. This would be acceptable if this setting could be saved, but Canon's poor firmware design causes this setting to be reset every time the printer is turned off & on. The result of this is that you have to go into the tiny LCD menu every time, which is infuriating.
"Well, I'll just leave the printer on all the time," you might think. Be forewarned that this printer does not have a low-power standby mode, or a power-saving auto-off for that matter.
Other Thoughts: Without the memory card settings issue I would have rated this printer a 5/5 due to being pretty good for its bargain price of $94.99 (plus free shipping; I love you Newegg!). For average novice users (such as my parents) who simply want to print pictures directly from the memory card, this settings issue is OK, just be forewarned if you thought you could use it as a standard card reader.

Newegg is the best!
Pros: I did a decent amount of research before buying this combo printer so I knew it would meet my needs. The price on new egg was significantly cheaper than anywhere else. So far it is working great and is very nice. The ability to copy documents without a pc is a nice plus if you just need a quick copy of something.
Cons: I was not very happy to see that a printer cartridge had been damaged during shipment- they put them on the upper corner of the box, so if a corner gets bumped you may get a busted cartridge.
Other Thoughts: My wife called new egg to ask what to do about the cartridge. We didn't really want to send the whole thing back if it worked, and Newegg was nice enough to just credit us the price of a new cartridge so we could just quickly replace it. The price and ship time from Newegg are, as usual, nearly unmatchable. I love Newegg!

Pixma MP520
Pros: Very pleased with the ease of set up. Instructions clearly written. So far I am happy with the quality of printing, scanning, and copying. This does everything I need it to do, but it's early in the relationship. I will write another review if things change.
Cons: None so far.

Consumer Report Best B**
Pros: Just a note to say that Consumer Reports recently, (April 08), made the PIXMA MP520 their "Best B**"
It beat a lot of good competition.
Cons: n/a
Other Thoughts: Of course NewEgg's price is much less than the advertised price in the article. :)

Excellent for Home Use!
Pros: High quality printing and scanning with or without color. Very well designed product with acute attention to detail. Intuitive design makes this printer/scanner very easy to use. Canon's support web site has updates and technical information readily available.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I use this product strictly for home use. The lack of a Fax capability is good for two reasons: 1) never have to worry about a conflict with an answering machine and, 2) smaller size (as compared to the Fax All-in-One) allows for better desktop placement.
