Very nice!
Pros: Duplexing, has a cassette tray, prints very fast, cheap ink, separate ink cartridges, separate blacks (one for text one for photos), prints very nice photos, feels very durable, was simple to setup.
Cons: Doesn't print on CD/DVDs out of box, but that isn't entirely Canon's fault as there is some licensing problem. Also there is a way to make it work, just search google for "Canon Pixma iP4300 CD Printing Instructions" (yes iP4300)... You'll have to buy an extra piece on a auction site but it'll work.
Other Thoughts: I had a old HP (worked fine, but it was old), it printed really slow so I needed a upgrade. I wanted a printer that could print photos but had low ink costs and separate cartridges. I've always liked Canon so I started searching and found this printer. After researching a bit more it seemed like it would be a good fit.
Overall I have loved this printer. The duplexing was a surprise, I didn't know it did that when I bought it, so that was very nice. Some may complain about ink costs but that is bull. $30 for all three color cartridges is a great deal considering they last a pretty long time. If you figure a good quality 4x6 costs .20 to be printed somewhere it is around .05 for ink costs and around .1 for paper. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

What was I waiting for?
Pros: This was an upgrade from an old hp720 that was over 6 years old.
DANG! My wife was about to choke me out for making her suffer with our old slow HP. (I still LOVE HP btw)
I like the dual tray feed option. It prints very fast.
I've not used photo paper yet but what I've printed on stock paper looks amazing.
Included software is acutally quite useful, I was surprised.
Cons: Setup takes a bit longer than I would like. It seems to think..and think...and think when first getting installed and auto-calibration takes some time. But I'm just picking nits at this point.
Other Thoughts: My HP was still working when I got this. I hope I get the same lifespan. But sheesh, for the price of 2 sets of ink you can buy a brandnew printer so I guess I can't complain if it bites the dust after a couple years.

Disappointed by Canon Pixma iP4500
Pros: Slick in appearance and shoots out copies quickly, but only once it starts to print them.
Cons: This item is needlessly oversized. It cleans itself after every printing job, which slows down production of subsequent print requests. The self-cleaning sounds like I have, under my desk, a cat who is constantly liking her paws, CONSTANTLY. The blank paper bed is far too small.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this because Newegg, C-net, and Consumer Reports all gave it a high rating. I am scratching my head over this one.

Works great!
Pros: Does everything it claims to do. Prints fast. Duplex printing is fantastic! Great photos.
Cons: Ink is too expensive and fades quickly in indirect sunlight.

Satisfied, Great Photo Quality
Pros: Nice Looking. Multiple color cartridges. Exceptional speed, especially considering I upgraded from an old HP Deskjet 812. Fantastic photo printing (on proper paper of course). Nice software/driver user interface
Cons: Somewhat flimsy plastic doors and paper holder. Doesn't give the feeling of robust construction. Does not affect print quality, merely a minor tick against overall warm fuzzy feeling.
Other Thoughts: I was looking for an inexpensive quality all around printer for photo printing, documents, etc. I may have actually succeeded (yeah!). So far, this printer has met my requirements and I am satisfied.

Pros: This is the best printer I've had to date. I have printed well over 100 pictures since I got this. It uses very little Ink. Matter of fact my wife used it to print out several announcements and thank you cards for our new sons christening, and i just had to change 2 ink cartridges. After owning several printers in the past and going through ink like water, it was a pleasant surprise that I could print as many pictures and do all the projects my wife has done and only had to recently change 2 of the 5 cartridges. The quality of pictures it prints out is amazing.
Cons: None so far, and I dont anticipate any in the future as well as it has worked out so far.
Other Thoughts: The program that comes with this printer to print different sizes of pictures is great. This program is very user friendly and straight forward, something I'm not used to with these types of programs.

Crystal Clear
Pros: The quality of the print is outstanding. I have only seen output like this on larger machines. Should have moved to something like this a long time ago.
Cons: none that I have found.
Other Thoughts: follow the installation instructions exactly

Very good printer at very good price!
Pros: Size: This is a very attractive, compact unit. Setup: Very straight forward, well documented. Features: REFILLABLE INKWELLS! Yay! No more running out of ink and waiting for delivery! Functionality: Absolutely gorgeous photo and document printing. 100's of printing templates can be downloaded for free from Canon. Print your own photo cards, calendars, envelopes, etc. FREE SHIPPING!
Cons: I will miss the scanning feature of my old **** printer. But this one runs circles around it in terms of print qualty
Other Thoughts: It's become a cliche I know, but Newegg service was spectacular, gave a discount on shipping, even though I said it was insignificant. Multiple item order arrived in 3 days. Perfect!

Canon PIXMA iP4500 photo printer
Pros: I've had this printer for three weeks now and I am impressed...Very impressed. A great printer for the price. Color photos come out clean, crisp and vibrant. Faster then my old printer, which by the way was a Canon. Simple to set up and use. I like the idea of two paper ports. Now I don't have to physically change papers between photos and texts. Clean and good looking design without the image viewer(small anyway) or card slots. Don't need them as the work is done in the computer and I use my multi card reader.
Cons: Can't think of any except, maybe, I should have bought this printer sooner. Don't understand why Canon didn't include the try that allows you to print on CD/DVDs like the model sold in the European countries.
Other Thoughts: Bought this printer on sale from Newegg.com plus tax(where else but CA?) and free shipping. Like the way Newegg kept me up to date on the processing of the order. Odered it 9/3 and received it on 9/4. Now that's fast. My first experience with Newegg and it couldn't have been better.

Blown Away!
Pros: FAST full edge to edge printing with photo lab quality! Incredibly easy on ink. I printed six 8.5x11 photos at highest resolution and the ink tanks still looked full. Much better than the competition! Elegant stye.
Cons: While mostly quiet.. sometimes emits a scraping sound. I wish the U.S. version had included a tray to print on CD/DVD.
Other Thoughts: Well worth the money! The output is better than my older Epson 1200 and probably five times faster!

No USB cord
Pros: Hmmmmm. It has a great look to it, and I'm sure it has a fast speed...
Cons: The USB cord is not included, meaning you can't connect it to your computer to print anything.
Other Thoughts: If your going to buy it, buy the USB first so you don't have to wait.

DOA
Pros: None
Cons: Unit arrived DOA. Print head holder does not slide and it gives alternating flashing lights. Followed troubleshooting tips and no change. Canon support is also closed for the day... Paying to ship back a DOA purchase is like adding injury to insult.
Other Thoughts: I have purchase many other Canon products in the past and love them. This is my first personal printer that I have purchased and I am honestly not too happy. Unless Canon really makes up for this somehow, I may not order Canon printers in the future.

This is the one to get
Pros: Killer printer for the price! Photos look great and it prints about twice the speed of my old printer (which was super slow so maybe that's not saying much). One of my favorite things about this printer is that it prints both sides without me having to flip the paper. Can't beat the price. I did the research and checked this myself. This is THE printer to get for around $100.
Cons: Ink price?... Where is this NOT going to be the case. Don't really like the shape, but the footprint is smaller than expected considering it holds TWO types of paper at the same time.
Other Thoughts: I did a lot of research and have always been happy with my Ep***, but I am super impressed with this Canon.

Brutally Powerful!
Pros: The photos come out excellently and the printing couldn't be faster! The Cassette hold all sorts of paper - even note cards [or credit card size, which is very close.]! The software works well with Vista and the software is very easy to use. There are two loading paper ports so you can have twice the paper capacity. It comes with free ink too, and matte photo paper which is quite nice. The free shipping saved me too. Also the printer has about 35 options from making the picture better to making the printer sleep. All in all this printer is the best.
Cons: EXPENSIVE INK [$39.99+]; NO USB TYPE-A [MALE] so buy the USB cable with this or else you're in for a annoyance. The paper load times kind-of take a while.
Other Thoughts: Loud, but the software can adjust that.

The BEST printer I ever bought!
Pros: I've just recieved my Canon Pixma IP4500 today and let me tell you, it friggin ROCKS! This printer blows my IP1500 away in terms of photo printing quality! I never thought my photo prints would come out so good on the 8.5"x11" matte paper thats supplied...WOW! Software is simple, very user friendly, five individual ink tanks, fast printing, and best of all CHEAP, less than 100 clams!!! FREE SHIPPING!! I LOVE Newegg!
Cons: Nada!
Other Thoughts: The Set up process can be a bit challenging for entry level users, so just take your time and READ the User's Manual. Thanks and happy printing!

Good Printer
Pros: Great printer for the price. I have been a Canon user for many years. I like their separate ink wells, print quality, and with this printer the two paper sources.
Cons: None at this time.
Other Thoughts: I did some research on this printer and found out that it can print CD/DVD labels, (beats Lightscribe). In Europe this is standard for the IP4500. A little searching for a Canon CD tray on the net for instructions and a purchase for a type F tray and I was in buisness. I have already produced a few CD labels and they look great.

Bought 2 and Buying 2 more!
Pros: For the price, it's hard to beat! Looks and prerforms very well. Prints documents quickly and pitures are excellent. It has 5 ink cartridges which are very easy to change. My 6 and 7 year old will be receiving their iP4500 for Xmas. I was a die hard HP fan but this printer has opened my eyes.
Cons: Don't have any.
Other Thoughts: I have a long history with NewEgg. I have never dealt with a better vender any where. Very quick shipping and excellent products. It's like they say, "NewEgg Rocks!"

Works Great
Pros: Very fast printer, very easy to set up, documentation with unit makes it very simple to understand and get it setup, small foot print, ink cartridges have fluid instead of filled 100% with foam very nice, exceeds all my expectations.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Doesn't make my coffee lol.

great printer
Pros: 8.5 X 11 boarder less is very nice it prints crazy fast. best thing i think is there are 2 paper feeding trays, i use the bottom one, because you can close the top and it is completely flat, what printer is ever flat on top, so i just stack it under my 360 and other electronics.
very good printer
Cons: if you are looking for something compact this isn't it, however the flat top could make up for it as a surface to put things on

Great Printer!
Pros: I did some research before I bought this and was pleasantly surprised at the good reviews and low price. I have not been disappointed. The high quality pictures this printer puts out are just not to be believed. Everything else--such as documents in both B&W and color--are also anywhere from good to excellent quality, even on the lowest (ink-saving) settings. I highly, highly recommend this printer.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Other Thoughts: Patient assembly required. I'm used to the basic 3-in-1's and inkjets that you can get up and running in 30 seconds with your eyes closed. This isn't hard, just a bit more involved.

Pros: Fast, quiet, good output and nice options. Doesn't drink the ink like Epsons I had.
Cons: A little on the big side, looks nice but black finnish shows fingerprints
Other Thoughts: Reading reviews and then buying this printer, I don't see what others have negative comments about it's speed and noise level. I have always been an Epson user. Epson is still a decent printer but they charge way too much for their ink and I have read horror stories about their customer service. So I decided to give Canon a whirl after reading many of the reviews. So far, I am glad I switched to a Canon. Newegg is nice to do bussiness with also, fair pricing if not some of the lowest prices on the net. Shipping is great, what they promised, they delivered.

Pros: Print quality and speed is excellent. 8x10 picture quality is top notch on Canon's Photo Paper Plus Glossy II (I haven't tried it on other paper).
Cons: None as of yet!
Other Thoughts: I have just gotten into amateur photography and decided it was time to retire my old Canon s520 in favor of a photo printer. When I printed my first 8x10 on Canon's Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, I was a bit nervous about how the quality would be b/c it was printing very fast, but I was amazed at how great the quality was. It looks like it was developed at a lab. I quickly framed it and hung it up on the wall! Oh yeah, ordered it on Monday and UPS delivered it on Tuesday. Newegg is the best!

Pros: Text is crisp and clean, even for small font sizes. Color printing is also very good. Printing is exceptionally quick once the printer is warmed up. If you use your printer infrequently, expect to wait. Two paper trays is such a handy feature; no more switching out normal paper for photo. Drivers offer a ton of options and are fairly easy to understand. I researched the majority of other printers at this price point, and the iP4500 offers better performance for less money.
Cons: Take note of the pictures, as this printer does not come with a USB cable. Since this printer only has one connection (USB), it seems pretty lame for Canon to not include this essential accessory. Good thing they aren't expensive!
Other Thoughts: I haven't had the printer long enough to know anything about its ink consumption. Ink cartridges are no more or less expensive than other printers at this price point.

FANTASTIC!
Pros: AWESOME. It does grayscale, and the pics i print on HP HQ paper look like they are from the studio. I love it.
Cons: HQ pics really do eat up the ink cartridge kind of quickly.
Other Thoughts: for 100$ its a steal. Mine is actually the MP470, but they are in the same vein. Mine has a cell phone like control area. It was similarly priced @ around 100$ @ BJ's 09-07

Pixma ip4500
Pros: What a great buying experience! I placed my order on a Sunday night; Newegg shipped on Monday and UPS delivered on Tuesday. In my opinion you can't go wrong with a Canon product. Newegg beats the competition hands down with price, and this is a Consumer's Report "Best Buy". Set up was really easy too! Text and graphics look great.
Cons: None so far!

Great Printer
Pros: Beautiful photo prints. Very fast.
Cons: Difficult to understand the many menu options.
Other Thoughts: There are so many options in the menu of this printer with limited explination of some of the fine tuning. I now use the printer on the default setting and I am very happy.

A lot of printer for a little money
Pros: I was about to replace the printer cartridges on my HP 882 when I noticed the great deal on this Canon printer from Newegg. Free shipping, a free 100 sheet pack of Canon photo paper, and a pack of matte photo paper that's included with the printer. What an excellent deal!
I like the design of this printer. When you're finished printing, all you have to do is close the front cover of the unit and everything is protected from the environment. I've only done basic printing so far but it handles very well.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Newegg's price on the printer was over $30 less than Walmart (and Walmart's price didn't include any freebies).

Superb no bells and whistles picture printer.
Pros: Prints high quality picture at higher resolution than competing printers. It can't be beat for the price.
Prints text quickly.
Sleek looking.
Cons: Does not have high capacity ink cartridges. I would like to be able to buy a more ink at a time; however, since I am using it for pictures only the ink relatively lasts a long time for printing pictures, which I do a lot.
Other Thoughts: I was looking for a photo printer that didn't come with a bunch of nonsense (card readers, touch screen, wireless, camera hookup) while still relatively inexpensive but of high quality grade that could to both 4x6 and 8x10. NOTHING comes close to this printer. It's as professional as you can get at the price. Prints look like what you would get from and convenience store.

Top Quality-Great price
Pros: The over all quality of this printer is great. Printing documents is very fast and high quality but where this machine really shines is printing photos. I have had photos processed at a PRO lab (no drug stores) and then printed the same files on the ip 4500 and the quality was as good and in most of cases better than the lab. I have had mine for about a year an just purchased one from Newegg for my wife. It arrived on time and in good shape.
Cons: Ink prices could be lower
Other Thoughts: The software that comes with the printer works better than I expected. For every day photos you can make all your adjustments without going to Photoshop. It will take some practice to get all the benefits from the software but it's worth it.

Even better than I hoped
Pros: Got this to replace my i560, which finally started acting up after 46,000+ pages. Great photo quality, and FAST. I print plain paper, duplex text by the carton, was using draft mode on the i560. "Fast" print mode on this is too light, but "Standard" is good. Auto duplexing rocks!
Cons: Still playing with it... need to find a mode faster than Standard, but darker than Fast for text. Like most printers, takes FOREVER to start printing some times. Ink prices are shameless robbery (all manufacturers) but aftermarket ink is available (still 3x the cost of the aftermarket ink for my i560). Aside from that, it's flippin' fantastic for under $100 delivered!
Other Thoughts: Will print CDs with the right tray and a little skullduggery. I'm waiting on my tray. I paid more for my i560 nearly 10 years ago; if this lasts as long and performs as flawlessly for 45K+ pages I'll be a happy guy. It will take some adjustment to paying more than $1.89 for an ink cartridge, but life goes on.

Not quite a "workhorse", but ...
Pros: I owned an iP4000 for four years. It recently gave up the (print head) ghost, and I'm coming back for another one (iP4500). my iP4000 printed great photos, large or small, border or borderless. I made lots of transparencies that equaled the glossy photos in quality. Black text was always sharp. Reasonably quick printing in black & color modes.
Cons: Takes its time powering up, and makes some clacking sounds whenever it feeds paper. (Don't use it in the bedroom, if someone else is sleeping!)
Other Thoughts: The print head (not part of the cartridge) clogged after 4 years. I think the black ink I was using was too old. Otherwise I'd still be using my ol' iP4000! I preferred another brand till I got the iP4000, and now I'll stick with the PIXMA series.

Cannon Pixma iP4500 Printer
Pros: This printer is great. I'm not really experienced with a lot of technical equipment, but I was able to set it up with just a little help from my son-in-law. Prints beautifully and so quiet. I'm very pleased.
Cons: There are no negative features.
Other Thoughts: The service from Newegg was outstanding. I ordered on 7/1, the order was processed on 7/2, and it was delivered on 7/3. What a wonderful online shopping experience.

Very good printer
Pros: I replaced an HP photo printer with this purchase. This printer does an excellent job from black & white to color photos. The service was excellent and I received this item in three days as promised. The site is very easy to used and I would certainly buy from here again.
Cons: None- I read other reviews here but for the price and quality you can beat this printer.
Other Thoughts: NewEgg gets my vote for being prompt and making this purchase easier than going in to a store. I bought it at $99.99 and this was the best price I could find. Even at their old price it stills beats Staples.

Probably the best for the price!
Pros: Prints EXCELLENT quality prints on photo paper, letter-sized paper, and every size in between. Price per sheet is very low compared to other printers I have used, and the individual ink tanks are nice. Have not yet tried this so-acclaimed duplex printing they say this is capable of, but it sounds cool!
Cons: Ink is expensive, but doesn't need to be replaced often.
Other Thoughts: I am coming from the previous mode, the iP4000, also a great printer. Many bugs and caveats have been fixed, although it would have been nice if my older ink tanks worked in this new printer.

Great printer, no real ink choices
Pros: Prints beautiful pictures, good clear text and does it quickly and relatively quietly. Two paper feeds are a plus. Small footprint as it is usuallly shown in ads but with paper discharge tray open it takes up a pretty good piece of desk and how can you print with that not open?
Cons: Canon (and I suspect others) are putting a chip on the ink tank itself to make it harder to use after-market inks. This is a real PITA and really makes it hard to use anything but Canon ink cartridges which are expensive. I know, they have to make their money somewhere, they sure aren't making much selling this thing for a hundred bucks, but it should still be a choice you make based on the quality of the ink, not some little trick they dreamed up to make the printer balk at using any other ink tanks.

Great Printer!
Pros: Print quality is excellent! a photogrophers printer and duplex printing is really nice the multiple ink tanks help save money on it too + new egg 80$ price is killer!
Cons: No Memory Card Slot, No included USB, no LCD, and no scanner for copying photos
Other Thoughts: I didnt care about the cons actually beside the scanner, a scanner would been nice but memory card slot i already have on my computer and the lcd is not necessarily needed. the only fault i found was the scanner... totally forgot about that so gotta head out and find a scanner!

Still Waiting on Replacement
Pros: None.
Cons: Right now the first one was received DOA and now is being returned to NewEgg at my expense for a replacement.
Other Thoughts: So getting free shipping and a great price is crushed by having to pay for return shipping and no printer for two weeks. I will update if this changes.

Great Printer
Pros: I just received this printer from newegg as a replacement to my old 560 canon inkjet. Overall this is a fantastic printer. Its print speed is very quick. Also, it does a wonderful job on text, business graphics, and photo printing. Highly Recommended!!!
Cons: The black high gloss shows fingerprints easily. Only a problem if you have kids...
Other Thoughts: I'm very interested to see how this holds up. If it holds up as well as my previous canon printers, this should not be a concern.

Canon maintenance tab not correcting
Pros: Fast, worked for a while
Cons: When I put machine in maintence mode, the manual maintence will not allow me to correct alignment. Now, after wasting a 3rd of my ink trying to fix the alignment, I have to go buy another machine because the warranty is good for only a year. Also, paper sometimes misfeeds.

Pros: excellent photographic print quality. Prints large photos. Can replace just a single color cartridge versus all at once. Can replace the ink cartridge head assembly if it becomes clogged. Can disable some portions of the software so that it does not update automatically (at inconvenient times) or annoy you constantly with update or free-offer pop-ups. Paper feed from the top does not bend photos (and does not get stuck). Oh, and the price is outrageously low for such great photos.
Cons: Rather a larger footprint. Can vibrate quite a bit when printing so ensure that it is on a good stable base or stand or use the Quiet Mode (found in the utilities). Lacks an integrated card reader.
Other Thoughts: Photo enthusiasts - this is your printer unless you have a ton of cash to spend on the $$$ models.

Best All-Around Printer
Pros: Need to get a printer to replace my superb Canon i850 when it die after 5 long years of service. The iP4500 is faster, quieter and look nicer than my old printer. Print beautiful pics and text. Loved the auto power on/off, i think this feature is unique to Canon. Another reason i want to get the Canon is the ability to print on CD/DVD although i have an Epson for that.
Cons: There are no cons to this printer although i wish Canon ship it with the cd/dvd tray like they did in Europe. Another thing is that the design look nice but the black attract too much dust and shows finger prints.
Other Thoughts: Canon disable the ability to print on cd/dvd but if you search the net you'll find what you need. Canon makes the best printers and Newegg rocks too --free shipping---yeah !!!!!!

Cannon PIXMA ip4500
Pros: Photo quality is as good, or better than, photo lab prints. First print I made was so vivid and clear it was framed and hung ASAP. Inspired me to dig and print more family events. Very quick too. Word documents zip out perfectly. Paper feed is very good, old printer jamed often. Keep photo paper in bottom load , plain in back load. Best printer made...
Cons: If there is a "con" I can live with it. The "pros" are blinding me.

Pros: Fast, duplex printing, separate black cartridge, great quality
Cons: No USB cable. I don't understand why they don't include one.
Other Thoughts: This printer would still be worth it at double the price. I haven't beaten it up much yet but so far it has surpassed what one can expect from a 90 dollar printer.

Canon PIXMA iP4500
Pros: Excellent in every respect. Bought it to replace my Canon i850 which gave 6 years of service. Ordered it late on a Friday and received it on Tuesday. Promt delivery is one of the reasons I prefer to shop NEWEGG.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Some of the reviews say that it only prints up to letter size pages. It prints legal size just fine. Haven't tried anything larger.

Pros: Very fast(1 min. 15 sec. for 8x10). Very accurate color. Very clear, crisp and smooth prints. Canon software is easy to use and installed with no problems(Win XP). Great price. Ordered Monday arrived Tuesday.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I only use this printer for photos so i can't comment on text printing. I printed 200 4x6 bordered pics on matte photo paper before needing to replace the magenta cartridge. I left settings on auto color but did check both boxes on photo optimizer pro. Canon red eye remover worked great. The smaller droplet size and 1000 more nozzles lets this printer surpass my old canon 1-960, 6 ink tank printer.

Good Printer, Great Deal
Pros: FAST. I can't believe how fast this thing prints a 4x6. Quality is as good as the kiosk at your local drugstore. I love the bottom paper feed.
Cons: It's big, but not huge.
Other Thoughts: Just try to find a better printer for this price. The glossy black finsh is a good match for my hp laptop. Ordered on Sunday, and it was on my doorstep on Tuesday. Thanks Newegg!!!

Another great Canon product
Pros: Too many to list! The style and size fit perfectly on the small separate table I'm using. It looks sharp. When not in use you can close it up to keep dust out, which can mess up prints. A cassette tray where I keep letter size paper and feed photo paper in the top. Separate large black pigment cartridge for text printing. Text printing which matches the quality of my 600 DPI laser printer to the naked eye. Under magnification the laser output would probably look better. Automatic duplex printing which works great (a real paper saver). Outstanding photo prints which easily match most photo labs. Do I like this printer? Yes, very much. In the price range I doubt if you can find a better printer.
Cons: The default setting in the driver uses too much yellow for skin tones. Easy to remedy in the manual settings. No USB cable to connect printer. Not real impressed with the included Easy PhotoPrint EX software. But this is really nit picking. There are no serious cons.
Other Thoughts: For 90 bucks and free shipping (at the time) this was a great deal for a terrific printer. I can highly recommend it. The price for the 3 color ink cartridge replacements is reasonable. Really great print quality which is what matters the most. Compared it to my Epson R200 and this printer is clearly superior. I can't imagine that anyone could be disappointed with this printer. As usual Newegg provided near perfection in the order handling. Ordered around 2 PM Eastern (PA) and received it next day from their NJ warehouse. About 24 hr turnaround! And this is typical for most of my orders.

Excellent All Around Printer
Pros: This was a night and day upgrade compared to my aging HP Deskjet 722C. The printer offers the ability to perform borderless photo prints on my 4x6 and 8.5x11 glossy paper. The color is fantastic, very vivid. I've printed up a mural of 8.5x11 photos for my wall. Each was 1920x1200 300dpi. The quality was flawless as far as I can tell. Also able to print my reports in a flash, AND with duplex (automatic) if I'm in the mood.
Cons: Print preferences are amazing, but it can be confusing to setup duplexing. It's not always clear how the back page turns out (right side up, upside down) depending on the staple point you choose. Especially a problem when Adobe Acrobat likes to automatically rotate pages despite the printer settings. But if you pay attention, think for a second and focus, it's no problem. Update the photo software as well. The version on the install CD would crash from time to time. A couple of times I've tried to print after firing up the computer and the printer delays for 30-40 seconds while it initializes. Never noticed this after computer's been on for awhile.
Other Thoughts: Very happy with this printer. Ink isn't that expensive for it, and it lasts a reasonable amount of time. I'm still on my first set (low on 1 color, getting low on the rest). Keep in mind this is after 20 8.5x11 color photos and 40 some 4x6's. I've also already slammed through 3/4's of a ream using black ink only.

Canon Pixma iP4500
Pros: I have been a HP buyer for most of life, so when my newest HP took a dump I decided to try out a new brand. I found Canon to be the highest in customer satisfactions so i tried the iP4500. I have been very pleased with it thus far. Very nice quality pics and quite fast.
Cons: None so far

Another Fine Canon Printer
Pros: Bought this printer for my wife in March '08 to replace a 5-year old Canon inkjet that went south. So far it meets or exceeds her expectations. Setup was easy, and printer recognised without problem on my networked computer.

Great inexpensive printer
Pros: Square form factor is very convenient for a smaller desk. Bottom cassette for paper is nice feature too. The fact that you can close up the paper insert areas makes it nice so you can minimize any dust getting into it when not in use. Double sided printing is a huge plus too!
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: Who ever uses the direct print feature? My opine: it's a unused feature.

Bang for the buck
Pros: It comes with full ink cartridges! The black is 27mL which is twice as big as my old HP56, for less cost. The price per print is exceptional! And no wasted ink- it is true to the screen and fast, esp. 4 x 6 (about 18 seconds at full dpi). They are photo lab quality or better. I was going to spend $55 on cartridges for my old printer and got this one (consumer report's #1 rated photo printer) for $92 through Newegg. Couldn't be happier!
Cons: Buy this printer. If you don't like it for its photos, efficiency, value and speed, I'll eat my shorts. Con for you- I won't be eating my shorts because you'll love it.
Other Thoughts: I had to keep the old printer for its copier/scanner, but I tend to think "multifunction" devices are prone to "multifailures" and are not great at any one thing like this one is at photos.

Speedy Quality Printer
Pros: Nice quality fast prints. The ink wells actually had some weight to them which leads me to believe they'll last longer than some of the HP ink jet cartridges that weigh less than a feather. The extra large black cartridge for text is also reassuring that I won't be buying ink so often.
Cons: If there was a built in network port on this printer I would have given it a 5 instead of a 4, but I have a USB printer port on my DLink DL-724GU wireless router so I'll just share it to the network using that.
Other Thoughts: The printer isn't a baheamoth but it's not tiny either so make sure you have enough space to fit it on your desk. I'm still trying to find a permanent home for mine.

You'll like it.
Pros: Replaced a dead Canon i9900 which was an excellent printer. Died of old age after several years of faithful service. No longer needed wide format capacity. Was quite skeptical that a printer costing so little could replace the quality of the i9900. When seeing the quality-very high-of the photos printed after receiving the unit I became a believer. Wonderful printer in every respect. Pictures equal to or greater than the i9900. Very pleased.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: We've sure come a long way since the sproket printers or yesteryear. Good stuff.

Works great
Pros: Actually works, unlike the Epson RX595 I foolishly bought first. Easy to set up. Very easy to install ink cartridges. Print quality excellent.
Cons: Read that it doesn't support paper larger than A4, but that's not a problem for me. Apparently doesn't support Bluetooth, but again, not a problem for me.
Other Thoughts: US customers can modify this printer to print to CDs and DVDs (we can thank an unnamed company for forcing Canon to turn this off for printers sold in the USA). A web search will turn up the necessary info. You'll need to buy a CD tray elsewhere though.

Jury is still out
Pros: Fast printing. I mean fast! Also ... simply beautiful prints. I also own a large Epson printer (one of those 19" wide numbers with 8 cartridges) - I tested the same photo on the Epson and the 4500 ... the 4500 is noticeably better. Noticeably! And the Epson costs $2000! More pros - very easy to set up, appears to have a near jam-free design, no trouble taking even thick paper. Also has a pretty neat optional 'power off/on' feature - printer shuts itself off after a pre-determined time, and will turn itself on (quickly) when you send a print job to it.
Cons: Inks get pricey of course (c. $75 for a full set). Cartridges have chips in them, so I can't use knock-offs like my now dead Canon i950 (5 years of great service). Also - printer simply up and dropped dead after 31 days! So can't return it to Newegg (they date 30 days from invoice date, not received-by-me date)- waiting to deal with Canon tomorrow. I mean DEAD dead - power light won't even go on. Other than this (a fluke I trust!? But one never knows when they start dropping the prices on a model like crazy ...)I would have rated it a '5' all around.

Great Printer
Pros: Separate ink cartridges. Great looking photos and documents. Nozzles measure ink flow down to Pico Liter. High resolution prints for photos taken with a high resolution camera and for cropping. Dual paper feed sources. Just an all around great printer for not an arm and a leg price.
Cons: Output tray looks a little delicate but I've bumped into it a few times and it hasn't fallen apart or broke.
Other Thoughts: Second Cannon printer that I have owned. BJ8200 worked well also but the print head went bad after running tons of ink through it so I decided to replace the printer with a new updated one instead of replacing the print head which costs as much as my new printer.

WAITING
Pros: My Canon S750 print head died, so this Canon with individual inks, built in duplexer was right up my alley. The quality is there. My son commented that the draft paper printout looked just like the screen.
Cons: Not as fast as other reviewers have built it up to be, especially the wait time for the duplexer to engage for each page. I would recommend not enabling the duplexer and print the odd/even pages if you're in a hurry.

Nice "local" (ie. not networked) printer
Pros: Individual ink tanks, dual paper feeds, duplex printing
Cons: According to Canon tech support, "will only work with Silex Print Server". I know it will not work with my TrendNet TE100-p21 print server.

Nice LED light feature that indicates you have installed each ink cart. properly, Drivers are very user friendly Mac and XP and you have the option to just install driver without the software or both. Best of all the price just went down 30 bucks from last week ugh!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: after doing some online research I had cheaper options on other printers but when looking at the price for ink for these printers the Canon was a better choice. I only need it for school papers but it's nice to know its photo capabilities are good to go as well.

Great pics
Pros: Fantastic photos using Lightroom (300dpi, Med Sharpening), Ilford Smooth Glossy Pearl and Smooth Glossy, ip5300 profile (as recommended by Ilford)and printer ICM set to 'None'. Prints an 8.5x11 at High Quality in about one minute. Rear tray option allows photo paper to go straight thru (no curling around a roller, etc). I have the lower tray loaded with plain paper and text with graphics prints at near laser quality and speed. Easy set up with provided quick sheet.
Cons: What can I say, other than it won't do 11x17. :D
Other Thoughts: Make sure to get a USB cable with your purchase. Easily replaces my PSC500 (other than scanner and copy functions so I still keep it hooked up).

Techno-Bloat
Pros: Shiney.
Cons: Printer failed during installation showing error related to the inner door. Cannot proceed forward, cannot back up, cannot fix printer without breaking it. RMA'ed STRAIGHT back to Newegg...
Other Thoughts: Dug my old beloved 6 year old Epson out of the trash bin to print the UPS Return label. I will not ever again attempt to replace such a SIMPLE and IDIOT proof printer with such a techno-bloat as this printer turned out to be...

Great Printer
Pros: Very nice printer, I like this brand, they seem to last way longer than the competition. They are basically selling you a printer to get your ink business
Cons: Are you kidding, works like a champ. Shipping charges on cartridges ought to be heavily discounted or given a bulk rate if you order cartridges in bulk or in big lots.
Other Thoughts: Buy this printer, if this is what you are looking for I wouldn't look any further unless you need a large format printer for larger projects

Great printer for the price
Pros: Fast printing for 4 x 6 photos and letter size pages. Color is excellent and drying times are extremely fast.
Cons: Didn't come with the CD printing option that used to be listed with this item.
Other Thoughts: I use the bottom cassete to keep my letter size pages and use the top loader for my 4x6 prints and it works out really well.

Canon Pixma iP4500
Pros: looks great, very fast, clear text and accurate color reproduction. Two paper trays.
Cons: high ink cartridge cost. it's a trade off. The better the text and color reproduction the higher the ink cost.
Other Thoughts: it's worth it. exellent product and the fastest shipping on the planet from Newegg.

A Fine Printer
Pros: Print time is AMAZING. It's very fast; whether feeding from the top or from the cartridge [also a big pro]. Great color. I had gotten into the habit with my Epson R300 of tweaking pics A LOT using PhotoSuite before printing. I tell the iP4500 what type of paper I'm using and set the print quality to "high" [or just leave it on the default setting] and tell it to print. Pictures [up to 8x10], mailing labels, shopping lists, etc. have been printed with only superior results. I've had four Epson printers over the last eight years; and was perfectly happy. I don't think I'll be buying another Epson. This truly is a fine printer for the money. Can't beat the combo deal.
Cons: None that I've found.
Other Thoughts: Newegg's customer service was prompt as always [ordered Saturday afternoon, received Wednesday]. I think that I'll use FedEx next time for shipping. UPS managed to misdeliver my extra ink tanks [combo deal rocks] to LL BEAN on a trailer of 12,000 other packages. I should have them in 7-10 days I'm told. Brown should have done better by this customer.

Great Printer
Pros: Prints great borderless photos and it's fast. Of course my last printer was an 8 year old HP 970cxi so it's not hard to surpass it. I've never owned a printer with seperate print cartridges either, while it still only has 3 colors, it does have 2 seperate blacks. Price is great too. And I got a great deal as Newegg was selling them for $89 and so I grabbed one at that price which is just amazing compare to everywhere else. Looks like the price went back up again though, but it's still better than most places.
Cons: No wired/wireless networking built-in. Not even blue-tooth.
Other Thoughts: I almost bought another HP because of that but I always had problems with paper jamming and it became really bad lately which prompted me to buy a new printer. I read from other reviews that the HPs still have problems with paper jamming so I figured I'd give Canon a try. So far I'm very pleased (though having built-in networking would have been even better).

don't Buy it
Pros: It is fast.
Cons: Within the first month I had the IP4300, the print head went out. Cannon replaced it. Now, I have had it over a year, and it stopped working.
It says:Document printing cannot be executed because the paper output tray is closed.
But the paper output tray is not closed, it is open.
Other Thoughts: I bought the IP4300 which is very similar to this one.

great printer
Pros: replaced my seven year old HP inkjet. man, has printer technology come far. This baby will print a full-color page 10 times the speed of my old printer, and twice as sharp! a big plus is that the cartridges do not have electronics as the HP did, so the cartridges are much cheaper. Setup was no problem and the instructions were clear.
Cons: using the front feed is not intuitive but then I haven't read the manual yet :P I have to keep the front door closed when I'm not using it, lest my cats break it. It is all black and shows up dust, but it looks really nice anyways.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried full duplex printing or picture printing or envelope printing...

Pros: For the price, this printer is amazing. The color quality is excellent and it is fairly fast. The software included to do direct printing is great. I've been a canon fan for years and this exceeded my expectations.
Cons: none yet!

Pros: The print quality on full page pictures rivals that of more expensive photo printers. I love the fact that you can keep your photo paper in the cassette so it won't get dusty. Ink lasts a long time as well, more than 30 8x10 pictures before I ran out of magenta.
Cons: Only handles up to 8.5x11 paper, but I don't need to print anything larger at this time.

Pretty good...others may be better
Pros: Prints clarity is very nice. B&W printing is quick...color takes a bit longer. Duplex printing is a great feature. Works great with Vista 64. Drivers loaded no problem. Networked on Vista 64 with 2 other XP systems.
Cons: It is a little bigger than I thought it would be. If you use the top paper tray, the paper extends vertically 10". Not very attractive. Lower paper tray doesn't hold a lot of paper. Black gloss finish shows dust very quickly. You have to open the front door for printing then close it back to make it 'look nice' on your desk.
Other Thoughts: Unless you really need the photo features, I'd recommend looking at a different model.

GREAT & FAST PRINTER
Pros: I was planning on investing in two printers...one for text documents and the other for photos. However, this printer does both...extremely well.
Print Speed - compared to other photo printers...this printer is FAST!. The iP4500 has a seperate black ink cartridge that is used for text printing...and prints text at a lower resolution(but still laser quality) in order to increase speed. I can get a full letter size page in 2+ seconds. 4x6 photos in about 40 seconds when set to "Best" quality. Photo Quality - I printed 36 photos at my nearest Walgreens the day before I purchased this printer. The next day I printed the same pics on the Canon iP4500. The print quality is the same. The only way I could tell which was which, was by the watermark on the back of the photo paper. Duplex Printing - this feature was a must for me. I print a lot of text and I get tired of wasting paper. The printer can print on two sided photo paper without swearing the print. PRICE - < $150.00!!!
Cons: None really...but I will make these comments: Paper size limited to letter. But it does print full 8x10 photos. If I need to print larger photos, I will send it out and have it done at a photo lab. No cute buttons...no flash card slots...no image viewer. But who needs these features when all your work is done from the PC. I prefer the simple and clean look and I never used these features on my last photo printer (HP).
Other Thoughts: If you need fast duplex printing, GREAT photos, and you don't need prints larger than 8.5 x 11...then this is the printer for you!!!
