Works Great
Pros: Great Prints If you understand color space and set it up so that photoshop manages color while printing.
PS. Remember that this printer is really only for printing photos. Do not buy it to use for text and sometimes photos. Text printing is not what it is optimized for.
Cons: The ink is expensive.
Other Thoughts: I would buy it again. I am very pleased with the quality of the prints this printer is able to produce.

Epson Stylus Photo 1400
Pros: Excellent photo results*, especially on the Luster paper. long lasting inks, very resistant to fading.
Cons: * = when it works. Problems: for me - 10% of genuine Epson carts (even ones that came WITH the printer!) are rejected by the printer. Therefore you lose $$ on the cart unless you want to waste time on constant RMA's to Epson and explaining that yes, you did try reinserting the cart for the 90th time.
This printer (I've had THREE) spits blobs of ink during printing, usually magenta but sometimes yellow and cyan. On average, 2 blobs per 8 x 10. Meaning you may have to print 2 or 3 8x10's to get a good one; a waste of time and $.
All three copies of this printer have had banding issues. Seems to come and go, often between prints. 2 good ones. 1 bad one. then 3 good, 1 bad, etc. Unpredictable. 2 head cleanings in a row helps, but then you waste a TON of ink.
I've spent $1000+ on this model (mainly because I keep a large stock of carts and lots of different types of paper, I gambled that the 'next' copy of the printer would be fine. Not.) Could not rely on this printer!
Other Thoughts: I hope other Espon printers fare better than this model but I am hesitant to try them. Poto enthusiasts typically have a stock of expensive paper and possibly carts on hand: I would recommend anyone with this printer keep the absolute minimum stock of papers and carts on hand - because you may find that it is a 'high maintenance' printer, and if you do quick turnaround work, it could hinder your delivery process - and/or get VERY expensive to deal with, and may wish to switch to another printer over time. When it works though, the luster paper prints are very nice.
If you print *every day*, the banding and blobbing seem to be minimized. but if its left for 1+ weeks w/o printing (powered on or off)- the problems appear again. No inkjet is free from long-term "parking" problems re: print head issues - but this model seems very very touchy in regards to this.

All the good things you hear are true
Pros: Prints awesome matte prints, borderless printing looks great, cheap (got it for 200), my wife is really happy
Cons: burns through ink relatively quick (have already spent more on ink than the printer.
I hear that glossy prints can leave somewhat to be desired, but we don't really want to print on glossy paper so I really don't care.
Doesn't wash my car
Other Thoughts: just buy it already.
some people have trouble with the color matching up. just do some reading about how to properly set these things up (drivers/settings) and you will be happy

great printer
Pros: Very nice prints. Ink cartridges don't dry out if unused for a few months. I like how you can close up all the doors on it to keep out the dust. 4x6 print speed is quick.
Cons: Ink cost but this is expected. All inkjets have expensive ink. It's a big printer make sure you have the room for it.
Other Thoughts: If you are getting streaking check your print speed/quality settings. The default set when I started using the printer was for highest speed. This may have changed since but produced horrible prints. It's still fairly quick even on highest quality settings.
When newegg and epson had some rebates going on at the same time I was able to get this printer for about $120 + shipping.

Price was eveythung
Pros: I take a lot of sports photos and, sometimes, the image needs a larger print format to convey the power of the moment. However, I resisted buying the 13x9 ink jet because the times I would use it never seemed to justify the price. I could always send photos out to get large format prints. When Newegg lowered the price on the EPSON 1400 and then added a $30.00 off promotion code, I couldn't resist. So far, I've only made two prints through Photoshop (turning off color management at the printer) and using the EPSON photo glossy paper. I am very pleased with the results.
Cons: As stated freqently in the reviews, ink is the money pit with the 1400. I haven't used third party inks through replacement cartridges or Continuos Ink Systems, but I've been doing some research on the subject.
Other Thoughts: There are better large format photo printers with a wider range of inks. The 1400 does a great job for my casual printing. If I need more "professional" results, I can send the files out to any number of good print services.

Perfect
Pros: This printer is what I've waited for since about the mid 80s when the various image printers first began appearing. It does exactly what I tell it, and some of the colors, particularly the blues, are simply incredible compared to what I had even with my previous Epson 1280 (which bit the dust when my cat barfed into it).
Cons: Ink is pricey still, even here at NewEgg (and I know it's not their fault!)
Other Thoughts: I keep looking for NewEgg somewhere at the end of my driveway or maybe down the street. If I place an order before noon, as with this printer, it's here the next day. If they get any faster, they can start competing with the Chinese food delivery guy.

ummm... woah.....
Pros: Amazing quality when it works
Cons: Goes through ink cartridges that dont get used just as fast as the ones that are used.
Other Thoughts: I have to replace ink cartridges atleast once a month and it doesnt even get used very much. HP makes a more dependable printer but I must say when it works it works good for output fils for silk screening.

Absolulely fantastic printer for a low-budget graphic designer
Pros: At the time of the purchase and value in the market. . .
It prints extremely well for its own price and capacity. It prints slow and do take lot of ink, but you must be fully aware and set all the bells and toots before actually printing to print it correctly. I enjoyed the quality it gives me for on the photo papers.
Cons: Few of my friends and fellow classmates told me that the border-less mode may have smudge or odd printing area around the edges, but it is not noticeable unless you look at up close.
Other Thoughts: I went and bought a CIS (Continuous Ink System) for the printer which is not highly recommended. It is not sold here at Newegg.com. It can void the warranty, but you can SAVE LOT of money on ink up to 60%-80% cheaper than the geninue ones. The only con is that the color settings need to be tweaked in order to be accurate, but it does pay off in the long run.

Works great. Plays nice with Linux.
Pros: Compatible with Linux. See linuxprinting.org. Large prints (11x17 easy). 6 cartridges. USB port on front so you don't loose a usb port. Prints directly on CD's (tho I haven't tried it yet). Nice quality. Prints fast. I thought it didn't have an output tray, but you just pull the tray out. Hidden so nicely that I didn't even know it was there for almost a month! :)
Cons: HUGE! I didn't realize how big this thing is. You can't really blame the thing. I was the one that wanted large prints...
Other Thoughts: Wish it wasn't so darn big. I'm going to have to get a new desk.

Big slow hog, but awesome.
Pros: Produces incredible visuals. This printer outputs a better image than I normally got from running files down to Kinko's. It prints up to 13x19, so it can handle just about any format you could use it for.
Cons: Big, slow, and sucks down the ink. It takes up a whopping 24" wide by 28" deep with the trays out, so you need a large area set aside just for it. It takes quite a while per page, (not a laser jet) and goes through ink faster than any Inkjet I've used.
Other Thoughts: It's still way cheaper, more convenient, and higher quality than running to your local print shop. Find a paper store and order ink in advance and save a ton. We bought this for printing artwork and it does a fantastic job.

didnt buy from newegg, but have had nothing problems.
Pros: good quality when you can a print.
Cons: The printer makes a clicking noise and inks just drops all over paper. Tech support has no idea what the problem is. That had me return it and get another of the same printer. I bought from staples and second printer is now doing the same thing. When it doesn't leave ink on page it causes lines in print which means I have to perform head cleans and waste more ink.
Other Thoughts: I would stay away. Previous photo printer was hp and work amazingly!

Good value if you need large prints
Pros: Ink lasted longer than I expected it to last. I won't call any inkjets cheap to operate to, but if you are buying this printer, you are likely printing photos, not a college thesis. For this purpose, it is quite good, I find the detail to be better than the Canon.
Cons: It's big, due to tabloid printing capabilities. Ink costs, but they are all probably not cheap. Not as good as the R2400, but half the price.
Other Thoughts: Newegg is good place to buy the ink. I use matte 13x19 paper and get great results - you have to adjust your thinking though - everyone likes the glossy stuff, but the matte paper is more accurate (less artificially vivid) IMO. Matte is also cheaper paper, 50 sheets of 8x10 is under $20, cheap enough to try out. I like Epson, as they have a large selection of paper stock, lots more than canon, so you get add'l flexibility. wilhelm-researco dot com has info on ink permanance, if you are interested in keeping the prints for a long time, useful reference.

Affordable for professional
Pros: It's Epson. Individual ink save money. Print up to 13x19" or 13" x whatever if you have roll paper.
Cons: Cost of ink and how little it is. 13x19 glossy paper cost alot and it's hard to find a 2 sided glossy paper anywhere above the size of 11x17. A little overkill for my school project, but then again, I wanted to show professionalism with every pieces that I've made. Beat having to go to a shop late at night or early in the morning to get your project done. Ink and paper isn't free?
Other Thoughts: If your a graphic designer like me. Your print-out help to show your professionalism and show people you really care about your work. If you had anything over 8.5x11 then you must have a bigger printer, but not nessary top of the line printer. This printer fit the bill and the quality. One of the reviewer mention "Taiyo Yuden printable disc," is very helpful since I didn't notice it after all these years. I would of bought that instead of the regular printable disc. But print from a silver disc isn't bad either.

Love this printer!
Pros: Excellent print quality - quiet - prints 13 x 19 - individual ink cartridges.
Cons: Perhaps too big? Black & whites not spectacular.
Other Thoughts: This is the first Epson printer I have purchased, after 12 years of a loyal HP person. But I wanted a printer that had individual ink cartridges, as well as the wide-format printer, without spending a fortune. I love the output from this printer, photos are gorgeous on matte paper. It's not the faster printer in the world, but I like quality much better than speed. It's pretty reasonable on it's ink usage, I have had this printer for about a month and have yet to get low on ink and I have printer 15 - 20 scrapbook 12 x 12 pages, lots of smaller prints too. It is very sturdy and should last for years.

Nothing but a bad experience
Pros: No idea since it doesn't print.
Cons: What an awful experience so far. Printer arrived nonfunctioning. It seems to have come with a bad magenta cartridge, so even getting a test print isn't possible. From what I could understand it sounded as though tech support is guessing that it has a bad cartridge so they are replacing it. The cartridge is brand new. That was almost nine days ago that the cartridge was going to be shipped.
Other Thoughts: Awful tech support. Truly the worst I have ever encountered. I emailed them first on a Thursday and got a reply to my email the FOLLOWING TUESDAY. When I eventually phoned the Epson tech support I had serious problems communicating with the gentleman since he spoke English as a second or maybe third language. My wife checked our only local suppliers of ink cartridges and they do not have the Magenta on style 79 in stock. So the printer just sits here. Useless.

Highly recommended
Pros: Phenominal photo-quality printing, the likes of which I have never seen before from a consumer-level printer. This 6-color ink configuration (light Cyan/Magenta) yields much smoother gradations than other models using Red and Blue configs. Ink droplets are so small, one literally has to use a microscope to see the dots on a printed page. Have used a half-dozen types of Epson photo papers, as well as some fine-art paper, all with superb results.
Cons: Shipped with a faulty Cyan cartridge. Tech support phone call to Epson was <10 minutes long, and they were eager to send a replacement cartridge.
Leave printer powered ON if you anticipate using it frequently. Off/on cycles cause the printer to purge the print heads, using almost 10% of inks. Very wasteful.
Other Thoughts: Using this printer primarily for DVD/CD printing. Paired with Taiyo Yuden "Watershield" media, you can achieve results far superior to thermal/silkscreen printing, and the printed face is truly water-proof (trust me, I've tried). Epson CD print utility leaves much to be desired--cannot import CMYK files, and color matching is poor. Nearly impossible to print to CD/DVD from Photoshop or otherwise.

Photo-i Review of Photo 1400
Pros: I have not purchased this printer and noticed that there were no reviews from people who HAD purchased one from Newegg. I will probably be the first to post a review after I make a purchase from Newegg. I am attaching a link to one of the best sites for printer and scanner reviews. This is the review of the Epson Stylus Photo 1400.
Cons: None
