So much in so little for so little... A budget camera on steroids
Pros: Wow!!! So many features bundled into what looks like and is priced like a budget point and shoot camera. From image stabilisation to AF assist for darker subjects, to excellent video recording frame rates and quality, this camera offers all that is requred for the casual photogragher, while keeping the more serious amateur asking why should they pay more. ISO selection, a respectable Ev compensation range, aperture and shutter priority modes, full manual mode as well as program and auto modes make this camera suitable for most photographic apetites. I truly cannot find any fault with this camera to date.
Cons: I do not like the combined SD/battery slot. Off centered tripod mount tricky with mini/micro tripods.
There are really not much cons with the camera. Coming from a high usage amateur 35mm backgound, there were a number of things that I would have liked to see, but I do not believe that one could reasonably expect to get more than what was already packed into this 'budget' camera.
Given the common criticism over battery life, I will add that I believe that it is the camera itself that appears to underestimate battery life. I too was alarmed the first time the low battery indicator came on so quickly. After arming myself with spares, I decided to test it. I counted WELL OVER 200 shots before having to recharge the batteries, and I was still achieving 1.5 fps in continuous mode!!
Other Thoughts: One comment on this camera is the battery type. Please realise it's about choice. DON'T buy a AA camera and then complain that it's too bulky and not envir. friendly. I too found the 570 to be big, but WANTED the convenience of AA's. I use 2500 mAh rechargeables and get around 500+ shots per charge.
The challenge with the 570is is that once the bar was raised with all the features outside of the typical budget range, you now start comparing it to others above it and this is never going to be fair. This is a budget camera, albeit on steroids.
Having said this, I would have also liked to get AE Lock together with the AF Lock. I know some cams in this range and maybe other Powershot cams have it as well. One cam I saw automatically brackets shots within user defined settings. Again I must say that I would not have expected this in a camera in this range, but it is Canon who raised the bar and keeps you wanting more.
All round GREAT buy and Newegg compliments the deal!!

Don't drop it or it will cost ya!
Pros: First off this camera does a pretty decent job of capturing the photos you want. There is noise on the higher iso settings but it's not a pro camera. Use the flash when indoors to assure you get the shots you want. The camera tends to take dark pics if the flsh doesn't go off even in well lit rooms. Ability to zoom in and out if using the movie capture mode. Uses alkalines just like the other dig cameras, actually this one is better on them than my last camera!! Size is good even for someone who has larger hands. Now see the cons please....
Cons: This camera worked great for six monthes. It has been well taken care of to say the least BUT BE SURE NOT TO DROP IT!!!!!!!! One two foot fall has given the dreaded lens error. And no it didn't land on the lens! The lens is now stuck in the open postion. After wasting money to send it in (no online estimate on repair cost from mfg.) for a repair it was not worth it as I could add another Grant to it and have a new camera. My only gripe would be is this camrea could be made a little tougher. One small shock should not render it useless after only 6 monthes of use. I have had several different mfg of digital cameras and this one has been less than stellar when it comes to my experiences in durability. With that said please read other thoughts....
Other Thoughts: While I am dissappointed in the durability the camera is a good buy for the money. In fact I purchased another as it was my wife's and she uses it often. However if another accident occurs and the same issue arises I won't be buying this camera again. As always take what you have read with a grain of salt and do your own research. Oh and Newegg is the best as usual, their motto ought to be why buy anywhere else!

Great little camera
Pros: Takes great photos and the anti shake is awesome. The ability to manually control exposure, aperature and/or focus is not something you find very often in these little cameras in this price range. AA batteries were a plus for me. Sony eneloop batteries last about as long as the original lithium for my old Nikon Coolpix. The video is better than I ever expected from a still camera. At 640x480 30fps mjpg it is easily editable or converted to other formats. I would have given this camera a 5 if I hadn't had to take the first two back for flash/lens issues.
Cons: I am on my third A570is. The first two had the same problem. After taking a flash photo the shutter would lock closed and would not reopen until the unit was turned off then back on. A long conversation with Canon tech support verified that it wasn't a setting in the unit but two bad cameras. I thought about going to a differen't camera but I knew what the A570is was capable and stuck with it and am glad I did. One other minor complaint is that the battery door is somewhat hard to get open at times.
Other Thoughts: As I said, it took me three to find a working camera but I'd do it again.

Silver Sensation
Pros: This is my first digital camera and I love it.The camera is so easy to use and has so many features you would think it was a 500 dollar camera or more. I started taking pictures as soon as I got it out of the box it was that easy, and the quality of the pictures are great plus all the features that this little camera has can't be beat.
Cons: Only drawback to this camera is the batteries die quick,I recommend the lithiam ion batteries for longer life.
Other Thoughts: Newegg has never disappointed me in anything I have ever purchased from them, they have fast delivery and great service.I will get all my electronics from newegg.

Great camera, awesome pictures!
Pros: This is the best digital camera I've owned...exactly what I was looking for. With all the different settings, you can take all types of pictures with great quality. It is also easy to use, from beginner to pro. I'd recommend this to anyone who asked, and make sure thy bought it from newegg.com. Price, quality & fast delivery, you just can't beat newegg.
Cons: It eats alkaline batteries, like all digital cameras. Buy the battery charger & batteries.
Other Thoughts: Definately get extra SD cards from newegg, you can't beat the prices and if you take pictures & video like me, you'll need them.

Excellent Camera
Pros: Great Price, Great Camera, Like the fact that I can record live video with this up to a half hour at standard high quality using the 4 GB memory chip I bought for cheap as well.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I bought this camera with a AA Energizer recharger, NewEgg sent me the wrong charger, I called back and they told me it would cost too much for me to send it back to them, so they just refunded my money!! I got to keep the charger!! (who does that? :-D) People who want return customers!! I was a first time buyer and I think I'll be a buyer for life just for the good customer service!!

Impressive
Pros: For the price you are not going to find a better camera. The feature list for this camera is outstanding, and it has very few negative points.
One of the major factors in my decision to buy this camera was the fact that it is capable of taking RAW format images using the CHDK firmware (does not permanently alter the camera).
I have taken hundreds of pictures with this camera testing it out, and I am very happy with it.
One of its most attractive features is the accessory ring that allows you to use additional lenses and filters with it (you do not remove the existing lens, you use an adapter to put other lenses over it). This is something you don't find in cameras in this price range.
Image quality is good, but you may need to play with the manual settings to get truly GREAT pictures from this camera . Not that it doesn't take good pictures, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist.
The camera is VERY quick from startup to taking pictures, so it is great for catching impromptu s
Cons: Please note I am more of a "Prosumer" so some of these things will not be an issue for most people.
Battery life is horrible if you use the LCD all the time. If you are one that does, make sure to get some good 2500ma NiMH rechargeable batteries (the Energizer ones work great). I get about 175 photos using the LCD with standard Energizer alkaline batteries, and about 500 with good NiMH's. Without the LCD on I can get close to 900 pics with the NiMH's.
Pictures taken at speeds over ISO400 will have noticeable noise, but that is to be expected with a camera in this class. Most pictures can be taken at ISO200-400 so it's not a huge issue.
The flash can take up to 10 seconds to charge with low batteries, which can be kind of frustrating if you're taking action pics. Carry spares.
The camera does not have native support for a lossless format, it only supports JPEG out of the box. With the CHDK firmware you can take RAW images, so no big deal.
Other Thoughts: I've listed all of the cons I could think of, and I would still choose this camera over anything available sub $250.

Great Multipurpose Camera
Pros: Fast Processor, High Quality, AA Batteries, SD Card, Image Stabilizing
Cons: A little bulky
Other Thoughts: This camera run circles around my Olympus Stylus 720. The picture quality is much better (less JPEG artifact). Low Light picture are usefull. I take a lot of pictures off roading that is done while driving or with moving targets. This camera do a very good job for such a small and cheap camera.

You've got to be kidding me...
Pros: I bought this camera for my wife for shooting family photos and such. I wanted to surprise her, so I ordered it online at around 2:30pm. I figured that she could wait the 3 to 5 days for shipping. The next morning at 11:00am the delivery truck pulls up with the camera. Wow! Way to go Newegg! This camera is awesome for the price. My wife likes the point & shoot features and I've started playing with the long exposure times. The face detection feature is amazing. The camera is a good size and weight. Big display with info and the ability to turn it off and use the viewfinder. This camera is quick. I hate waiting on a digital camera to take a picture.
Cons: The battery door is my only gripe about the camera. Its functional, but it feels a little cheap.
Other Thoughts: Newegg gets the brownie point for this purchase. Great job!

Good Overall Digicam
Pros: This is my 3rd A series Canon and like the others it takes very good photos. Nice features for the price and the ability to take 30FPS videos at 640x480 made this the deal for me. The IS puts it a step up from the 550 but otherwise the photos are indistinguishable.
Cons: The camera was NIB and would not hold the setup in memory. I had to make a run to RS and fork over another $5 for a CR1220 battery so it would retain the settings in memory. The extra $5 didn't bother me but it was disappointing to discover that my new camera was not fully functional out of the box. I should not have to go out right away and buy a new battery to replace the one it came with.
Canon must be aware that this is a problem because the manual hints that the battery may need replacing upon arrival.
I also don't care for the plastic cover that snaps over the ports. The design has changed a bit from the 530 and 550 models but it feels like it may break if I am not super careful with it - more so than with the 530\550.
Other Thoughts: It's a very good camera but not awesome. The performance and features are nice at this price point.
I'm using a Kingston SDHC 4 gig card with it and have had no problems.
