Pros: doesn't take that long to setup the quality is ok, the price is pretty good. I set it up to upload 2 frames per second to my ftp server but it updates to slow still can figure out the reason why.
Cons: camera stand/hanger is way to short so if you want to hang the camera on a wall and not the ceiling then you'll have to get an add-on like I did. power cable is too short. I set it up to upload 2 frames per second to my ftp server but it updates to slow still can figure out the reason why.
Other Thoughts: I guess for the price its ok.

Inexpensive, flexible, worth it
Pros: For the price, you probably can't beat it. A big plus is that the web-based viewer works with java as well as ActiveX and for those of us who use linux, that's a big plus
Cons: Doesn't see well in low light - but than considering the cost, who's really complaining. Modifying the ip address can be a pain unless you have a router that is in the same range or a range filter like 255.255.0.0
Other Thoughts: For a cheap, flexible method of watching your home/personal space from remote, this little camera serves the purpose well.

Very Reliable
Pros: I've had 7 of these up and running for over a year. Three of them are mounted in enclosures outdoors and four are indoors. They continue to work flawlessly. I have them FTPing pictures to my website every 5 minutes during daylight hours.
Cons: I have to manually reset the time if the cameras have a power outage and don't retain the correct time. This is to keep them on my daylight schedule.
Other Thoughts: They draw little power, and work in the cold winter and the hot summer. I keep them mounted to avoid direct sunlight. None have failed so far.

Pros: It does what it does. Setup wasn't bad, (the IP address juggle was a pain, but not formidable), and it's been on and accessible via it's web server for me for almost 2 months.
Cons: Wish it had a winder angle lens. Low light performance leaves something to be desired.
Other Thoughts: It does exactly what it is advertised to do. Works good in my application. Decent value for the price.

Average
Pros: For a $100, it's average. The picture quality is ok, and most of the time you can make out what's going on in the video feed. The motion recording works well.
Cons: - The web interface is very slow: The header and navigation images take a long time to download considering the fact that it's on my LAN and not going out to the web to download the images. My wireless network works great so I know that's not the problem. - The IPView Pro (which allows you to view multiple cameras) interface is pretty annoying - you actually have to click on the "Power" button in the interface to minimize the window. You can't resize the window, or move it somewhere else on the screen: This is obvious stuff that the programmers at TrendNet should have thought of. - Visibility at night isn't good. - It runs hot. - If you upgrade to the latest version of IPView Pro, you will lose your settings. Make sure you save a copy of them before upgrading.
Other Thoughts: TrendNet could make this product a lot better if they went back to the basics and fixed the interfaces.

For under $100.00 bucks...
Pros: Inexpensive price, body style similar to CCTV cameras so it fits in those enclosures, easy to configure, small form factor, decent picture in medium light
Cons: Low video dynamic range, blooms in bright sunlight, fuzzy with artifact in dim light, focus is limited to a narrow distance of about 30 feet from target range (plus or minus about 15 feet) goes offline requiring a manual power reset about once every week or two. However, it was not designed for outside use, but I have it in a weatherproof heat/cooled enclosure. The DLink DCS-9xx series wireless do better job, more reliable, less disconnects, less resets, but form factor of DLink round body WIFI cam isn't conducive to most standard outdoor enclosures of limited size.
Other Thoughts: Currently have installed 6 systems for friends/self, using NETCAM Watcher Pro software and though this camera isn't listed, it works because it follows standard protocols. Would like to see it be more stable. It's only 50 feet from the wifi access point but still has issues. Could be just this one camera as I only have one example. Plugged into RJ45 though, it never failed once, and would be a great camera for an indoor pet cam.

You Get What You Pay For
Pros: Once I discovered the camera's IP address, it was easy to setup up in wireless mode using WEP. (The instructions said the IP was 192.168.0.20, but my Router's DHCP table showed a new IP, so I used that one and got connected). It was a simple matter of 'view source', and 'copy-paste' to get the java applet viewer integrated into my website. This was a big plus over the active-x-only Linksys cameras. The stand/mounting bracket is a nice feature.
Cons: The video adjustments are on a separate page from the video itself. So you can't see to effects of your adjustments immediately. Maybe if you had two windows open - one for controls and one for video. But I didn't try that - I don't consider it a reasonable solution. The video is grainy and in wireless mode there was considerable digital interference. I returned it for a refund.
Other Thoughts: Due to the long footprint of this camera, you can't set it on a windowsill - at least not perpendicular to the glass. For me there were lots of pros for this camera, but the bottom line was the video quality and video adjustments just didn't cut it.

Indifferant
Pros: Good camera. Wireless just not all wireless.
Cons: Wish it could operate off batteries... That and this thing runs hot for being so small. Make sure to put it in a cool area or place with ventilation otherwise this thing may slow to a halt or stop functioning.
Other Thoughts: Wish quality was better but you get what you pay for.

Pros: Works great, easy to setup, mounts easy, just requires power! Software is pretty good: you can have multiple cameras on one screen - just specify the IP addresses of the cameras!
Cons: Cameras has to restart every time a setting is changed - no biggie, but a little annoying because it goes off for about a minute. Quality is average.
Other Thoughts: Works great just about anywhere. I built a program using the included software's OCX control and now can easily view who is at my door with a click of a button! Another idea - you can setup port forwarding in your router and view cameras at another location.

Hope my next one works
Pros: Nice list of features printed on the box. Looks nice. Comes with a metal mounting hardware of impressive quality. Detachable antenna.
Cons: DOA. I found it impossible to connect to it via wired Ethernet, through hub or via direct connection. Makes you wonder if these things get ever tested before they leave the factory. It is very poor design if a product cannot be reset to some minimalist but working condition that can be easily verified in the factory.
Other Thoughts: Reading other reviewer's DOA experiences I realized that we are living in a new age where technology just may or may not work due to virtual lack of quality control. And unfortunately this is not always reflected in lower prices. Finally I am compelled to make a note here of Newegg's excellent web design and shopping experience, except for lack of free return shipping of DOA items.

Pros: Great camera for the price. I have one set up in a family cabin looking out through the window so we can monitor conditions and keep an eye on our boat tied up to a dock. I have it connected to a Linksys WRT54G router over a WPA wireless connection, and it has been very stable once I got it configured correctly. It has been connected continuously for six months, with the exception of one unexplained crash about a month ago, which required me to reload the settings. I have it configured to upload a photo to a web site via ftp every minute, email a photo to an archive every five minutes, and connect live video remotely to a remote computer running Evocam (for Max OS X) on demand - all without a host computer on site - just the router and a cable modem.
Cons: As others have stated, don't expect the video quality of a professional camera, but for the price, it is quite good. I had to mount it to another bracket I got from a hardware store to be able to get it to mount where I wanted it. There is somewhat of a learning curve to figure out the IP configuration settings, definitely not plug & play, but it works great once you get it right.
Other Thoughts: As some others have said, beware of the rebate if one is offered. I experienced the same problem - they claimed I did not send in the UPC code, which I did. The problem was fixed with one phone call, but I am very skeptical of such rebate scams.

Most camera for the money
Pros: Very easy setup with very easy to use software. Excellent picture on default settings with zero noticeable lag. Decent field of view.
Cons: Mounting base could be made a little better. Would only thread in a thread or two. I just used an extra base i had laying around instead.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great camera. Highly recommended for home or store security.

Indoors Only
Pros: Excellent resolution during my setup - which can be tricky at first (address conflicts). Once I got through the address assignment It was easy to use, and that 640x480 is nice.
Cons: You can pretty much only use this indoors. In daylight the image is completely washed out. I dropped the gain as low as I could - even put dark glasses in front of it: useless image. In the dark, there's not much to see, except for static and any lights that happen to be in the image.
Other Thoughts: If you're monitoring a store, kids, pets, etc., indoors, this could be a good bet - otherwise try something else

get what you paid for
Pros: Inexpensive solution for monitoring staff and customers from my office. Software works fine for viewing multiple cameras at once.
Cons: 2 out of 4 cameras did not work. First one doa and replaced no problem. 2nd died after warranty. Cameras lag 3-10 seconds some times. Narrow viewing angle. Does mount on walls but range is limited as the back hits the wall.
Other Thoughts: I've looked around quite a bit and for the headache these camera have caused me I still think they are worth the cost.

Great camera, good price
Pros: Easy setup on Mac OS X 10.4.10 using Evocam. Took a while for me to figure out how to get it connected to my existing wireless network but once I was there it worked flawlessly.
My wife and I took a trip to Australia recently and I was looking for a cheap way to keep track of our three cats. I used software called Evocam ($25) to detect motion and email a photo (during a set time) and for the next three weeks I got thousands of pix!
Cons: 4 out of 5 due to the resolution, which could be better and the focus ring which is fairly sensitive and difficult to tune easily.
Other Thoughts: setup was a bit difficult at first but once I got this connected to my Airport it worked flawlessly.

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Product was DOA. Dealing with Trendnets techs and their system was probably the worst experience I have has short of a root canal.

Don't waste you money, or time
Pros: Low cost, easy to install
Cons: poor light resolution, can not take changes of light or motion well, worked for 2 months, have been fighting with tech support. They are busy, will call back in a "few" hours, every time has been 24 to 48 hrs later, when I'm no where near it to troubleshoot. Reached them this morning, and proceeded to lsiten to someone "read" the support off of her screen. After an hour, admitted she couldn't help me, and would move me up a tier, expect a call back in a "few" to 48 hrs.
Other Thoughts: Wish I'd have sent it back in the first 30 days.

Difficult setup
Pros: Great picture, neat little camera from a looks point of view, very compact considering the very good picture it delivers. Performs very well once it was connected.
Cons: I am not a computer professional at all but I am also not afraid to push the reset button. I found the connection via ethernet easy but the wireless was another story. In the end, after setting a static IP address, creating a hole in my firewall, I learned that the device does not like WPA-PSK encryption greated than 8 characters even though the device appears to allow us to use up to 63 characters as my wireless router also allows. It would not connect wirelessly until I changed my settings.
Other Thoughts: As some of the other reviews have said, it works well once correctly configured but for a non professional I struggled with it for a while before I got it connected wirelessly which is the reason I bought a wireless cam. I guess for the price, which was very good at the EGG, one could not expect a primer in computer accessory setup.

Fair for the price
Pros: This is a good value and it is working as expected for my application. I have it monitoring an outdoor area and it is mounted under the eave. So far the Southern California climate hasn’t harmed it but it has only been up for one week. The ability to for the camera’s internal web server to listen on two TCP ports was very helpful for my application.
Cons: The camera image quality is just as the other reviewers describe it as being but I don’t think that this is really a con for this price. The mounting bracket is too short to give good clearance. I had to modify it to get the clearance I required. The setup was a little tricky because it seems that wired NIC goes offline once the wireless is configured. This was confusing at first and I had to factory reset the camera a few times before I configured it properly.
Other Thoughts: I did not bother installing any of the software because I just need it as a web cam and do not need to record video.

Easy Setup
Pros: It took me only five minutes to configure this camera. All I had to do is enter the key for my WPA security and enter the static IP address I wanted to use while the camera was connected to my router via the supplied ethernet cable.
Cons: The stand it comes with does not support a wall mount.

A reliable camera
Pros: I now own 4 of these cameras and I have just purchased my 5th one. This camera is dependable and fairly easy to set up. Trendnet honors their rebates and responds in a timely manner as far as rebates go. The wireless range is good. A distance of 100 feet, through multiple walls, is the setup for my 4 cameras and they always communicate without error. My first camera has been working for about 6 months without problem. The newest one has been working for 3 months without problem. These cameras only need an internet connection to work. There is no need for a computer other than for setup or motion detection.
Cons: The picture is grainy in low light.
Other Thoughts: I wish these cameras had email notification of motion detection without the need for a computer. They can send emails without a computer, but they cannot detect motion without a computer.

does what it's supposed to do
Pros: It is easy to setup. It has features for FTP'ing and emailing videos and images.
Cons: I couldn't get the video to stream through the corporate firewall, so I can't watch video as I was hoping. The images however do work, so I made a simple html page to keep showing image after image to get around the fact that video can't be streamed, it actually looks decent, this should have been a built-in feature :)
Other Thoughts: The camera has a very narrow field of view. Considering the fact that this is meant for watching your house, they could have made the lens a wide angle. It makes me wish I had gotten the one with tilt/pan feature. Why can't they just put a wide angle lens on this thing?
Also, the manual focus has a focal range from infinite to less than quarter of an inch (if you keep unscrewing the lens). You can get a nice closeup of every follicle on your face.

Nice Camera - Poor Documentation
Pros: After 20 minutes of installation/settings the unit worked first try. For a $100 camera internet camera, it is hard to beat.
Cons: Make sure before the installation process that you READ ALL the above and below posts for this device. The documentation is so bad that you need everyone's collective experiences.
Other Thoughts: Installation technique is very important. 1st plug your camera into a single computer, laptop, or desktop. Dont try and connect wirelessly at first. GEt IT WORKING ON THE BENCH. Once you can talk to it with your laptop directly, now plug it into your hub, see if it will send you an email, now turn on wireless, next connect to trendnet software, ONE STEP AT A TIME. Now encrypt your wireless. If you install this to your final configuration at first, it will never work. There are too many gotchas in the documentation to go to a final congiguration at first. Once the camera is working both wirelessly and wired on your network, now tie in the Trendnet software, then poke a hole in your router and see if you can reach it over th internet. One STEP AT A TIME. The product works, the problem with all the other posts is that most people try and install this puppy all in one step ..... NOT

TRENDnet TV-IP100W rocks!
Pros: Easy setup, adequate software, good resolution, well built. This is a great wireless camera for the price!
Cons: Short power cord made it hard to mount over a window. Poor image quality under low light conditions - but I didn't expect this for a low end wireless camera.
Other Thoughts: The TRENDnet TV-IP100W was easy to set up and was up and running for me in just a few minutes!

Know what you are doing first!
Pros: Inexpensive, small, easy to mount. Color image. Zoom feature. Trendnet IPView Pro software is cool for multiple cameras.
Cons: Zero tech support from Trendnet! They told me the wireless function would not work with a wep encrypted network. This is crazy. I have 4 units up and running wireless but needed help from an IT person at work. Open ports, add mac address, change default ip address, reboot server, none of these did Trendnet support know about.
Other Thoughts: If you are comfortable inside your wireless router then you will get this up and running. If not, there will be no help from Trendnet.

Pros: super easy wired and wireless setup , had it up and running in less than 1 minute. also bought wired d link camera, same software and resolution, work well together, just need to change the ip address, very simple.
Cons: range of wireless, but is used with concrete walls
Other Thoughts: like the software that allows multiple cameras to be seen on one screen with one click recording ability

Pros: good for the price if the company would honor the rebate. You send them the form and original UPC and they send you a post card that says they did not receive the original UPC
Cons: This company is a bunch os scammers. They will not process your rebate. If you expect a rebate- forget it!!

Good, Inexpensive Network Camera
Pros: Works with Macs (I use EvoCam) Fairly Easy Setup - even for wireless Reliable - have it in my detached garage Good Mounting Options
Cons: Grainy in Low Light Case seems flimsy - but once you mount it, it will stay out of the way.
Other Thoughts: Excellent choice for a network camera - I have two.

Great Camera
Pros: Once you know how to set it up, it's easy to set up. The camera has good video in daylight. In lower light levels the picture is grainy. The built-in server can send pictures to your website or to your email without a computer. The time can be set automatically by having the camera query an NTP server.
Cons: Low light photos are grainy. I had to have TrendNet support show me how to set the camera server up for the first time.
Other Thoughts: I like this camera. I have two of them and I just ordered two more. They are great for monitoring remote places.

TrendNet tech support is worthless.
Pros: Camera seems to now be a good, inexpensive choice.
Cons: Camera would not accept my password. Had tech support on the phone about eight times and they could never figure out why my password would not stick, this is when they called me back. Thanks to one of Neweggs' customers who said it could be no longer than eight characters it now works. They better not play games with me on my rebate. "Homie don't play that! "
Other Thoughts: As usual Newegg is the best.....

Warning - Rebate Scam
Pros: This would be an excellent camera for the money, but I didn't get it for the price advertised due to an obvious rebate scam.
Cons: I received a notice from Trendnet today informing me that my rebate was invalid because I didn't include the original UPC. I, along with another reviewer here who was scammed out of two rebates, did include the UPC, however, unlike the other reviewer, I wasn't smart enough to make a copy first so I'm stuck. If you buy this camera and send for the rebate, be sure to keep a copy of the UPC. I used to, but I've never been scammed before so I got lazy.
Other Thoughts: I will also send a note to Newegg and Trendnet, but I don't think it will do much good. I will, however, avoid Trendnet products in the future.

Cons: Both my brother and I purchased one of these cameras from the egg. Great service. However, the rebate folks...both mine and my brothers stated "no valid original UPC" received. Sorry, but they WERE received, this outfit does not wanna pay. I have re-submitted all documentation (I keep copies) and if it doesnt come..its Postal Fraud filing time. I GET my rebates, trust me.
Other Thoughts: Other than the rebate scammer company trying to make up for their inability to get a good contract with trend net, good service. I have written Trend Net, New Egg, and a mail fraud complaint is pending with the postal inspector when I see how this pans out. I am one guy you DONT wanna play scam games with.

These are great for Surveillance !
Pros: These things work great with WebcamXP 2007 as surveillance cameras. I have two of them oeprating wireless with a linksys WRT54GS router using WPA. The WPA encryption was no problem to set up, I had them both operational within minutes. Picture is MUCH better than my logitech quickcam 4000, but not as good as my JVC DV camcorder (of course).
Cons: The higher resolution mode has a slower framerate.
Other Thoughts: Configure them using wired first, then switch them to wireless mode as the last step in the configuration. I prefer to use static IP addresses for all my network devices.

Not Bad Really
Pros: Excellent tech support. Responds via e-mail promptly. Decent price with rebate for a functional wireless camera. Good daytime or inside picture with lighting, low light picture is poor, but what do you expect for this price. Pro software from website is a must to download, good software...camera easy setup connects wirelessly to my 350n every time...good reception and transmission. Get it you will like it.
Cons: Buy six, and you don't get eggroll major disappointment. Would give it 5 eggs except the camera could not resolve my SMTP mail server when entered in text form. I had to convert it to its IP address, then everything worked perfectly. Notified their tech support and they are supposed to look into it.
Other Thoughts: Better low light capability would be nice...possibly a different lens would do it. I am going to check on that when I get time. I have two of them set up with dns and they are viewable over the web. The egg should put up some of these so that they are viewable over the web and let their customers check out the video, I mean, what else is the web for other than unique marketing eh? For a slight fee, egg ole boy, I will set it up for ya!!!

Very Reliable
Pros: Very Very Reliable, Able to allow multiple simultaneously connections, 5 of these cameras been running about a month so far, no problems.
Cons: I wish the lenses had a wider view angle, but for the price, this is the most reliable IP camera you can get.
Other Thoughts: I wrote my own mjpg capture software, which has far better video compression. And automatic reconnect features. It also allows an unlimited number of cameras to be added. The Cameras use a common Server-Push method for their java viewer, so it was very easy to implement my own capture software.

Pros: Great little IP cam for the price!! It take a little fiddling to find the "sweet spot" for the configs, focusing and my own firewall setting but it's worth the time. I can monitor my yard from work and the motion detection recording is great! I plan on getting 3 or 4 more to complete my surveillance system.
Cons: WIFI was a little tricky at first. It wouldn't let me into the camera settings. I left it sitting on the network for a few days and when I came back to it everything was working good. The software is a little sub-par but considering the high price of other monitoring software out there it's more than adequate. There is a better version available on TRENDnet's website that is better suited for functionality.
Other Thoughts: Keep in mind this is not a web cam and won't work with web cam software.

Pros: None
Cons: I never could even connect to the camera. Was on the phone with Trendnet support for an hour and they said the camera was most likely a lemon.

Trendnet support could not get a working picture
Pros: After two attempts by Trendnet online support personell, the camera failed to produce a picture. Followed technical support on line support people instructions and after an hour of their troublershooting camera would not produce a picture.
Cons: I think this product is built by cons.
Other Thoughts: Camera just would not work. No matter hw many times I slammed it to the floor in disgust. The preverbial 'waste of time' product to buy. I'm sure the camera works fine for some, but not for me. I will try some other company's product. The camera looks cheap if that helps in your decision making process if you are considering purchasing this camera. The product has no replaceable parts. Like a disposable camera, except looks cheaper.

Works fine, but software sucks
Pros: Cheaper than the D-Link, wireless works easily, easy setup. Can be used with IR illuminator for night vision with minor modifications.
Cons: Supplied software is poor at best. Third party products that are better work well with this camera.
Other Thoughts: Incredibly stable. It's been running for over a month without attention.

Now I can watch my pets rip it up in realtime from work!
Pros: Good quality image and with my free dynamic IP account via dyndns, I can easily view the cameras from work over the web.
Cons: Ran into some trouble setting them up for web viewing initially and also setting up wireless.
The first camera setup was smooth, but the second wouldnt connect to router properly. On the second camera, had to reset to factory settings and then the wireless settings went smooth the second time around.
Other Thoughts: Called tech support and they told me that the cameras work better over the web when they are set to a 4 digit port, then it worked accross my router/firewall with no problems.
There is a newer version of the IP View software that came inside the box on Trendnet's website for download.

Not bad, not great
Pros: Cheap, works well with Linux (motion), straight forward setup, no crashes/lockups, decent mounting hardware included, good wireless range
Cons: Video quality is mediocre in good light and useless in low light. Gave up getting WPA to work after several tries. Manual focus lens has fairly short focal length and narrow field of view.
Other Thoughts: Decent value. I bought two thinking NewEgg's return policy might come in handy, but I'll be keeping them. This site has details on getting the cameras to work under Linux with the Motion webcam package:

Works for me!
Pros: Works.
Cons: Might be tricky to set up.
Other Thoughts: I set this up to check on the pet while I was away for two weeks. It worked the whole time, without any outside interference. I think it's been up for a month now, just fine. Overall a good buy.

Does not do what it says it can do.
Pros: Affordable.
Cons: Does not live up to what the box says it can do. WPA works, but FTP upload / email notification fails. Even updated with latest firmware. Tech support never replied after one week. Software lets you watch the camera, and take manual snapshots, but nothing automated. Software cant run the ftp / upload as an alternative. Even brightness at minimum lvl will still be all white outside on an overcast day.
Other Thoughts: Do Not Buy! Spend a little more and get something that can actually do what it says it can do as this device does not live up to TrendNets claims on the box. Was a waste of time and money.

Great cheap IP Cam
Pros: This seems to be about as good as the cheap IP Cams get and it is great that it supports WPA instead of just WEP. I have had this cam for several months now and I don't think I have ever even had to reset the device. I connected up pretty easily and WPA worked right away but I am a network engineer so it might be a little difficult for non-techies.
Cons: Nothing major that I can think of.

A couple of quirks, but generally good
Pros: Cheap, compact, gets the job done.
Cons: WPA support is finicky. I bought two of these and had a hard time getting WPA to connect to either of my Linksys wireless routers. I finally got one configured by configuring it with no encryption first, then WEP, then WPA and it just started working. The other camera still didn't work, so it's definately not a router problem. Backup config and restore on second camera, now they both work just dandy. Another quirk is that the config restore does not set the IP address - it goes back to 192.168.0.20 regardless of what it was when you backed the config up.

Same as the D-Link DCS-G900 640 x 480
Pros: Dependable. It's been running 24/7 for 2 weeks so far. Never had to reboot.
Cons: Slightly less range than the D-Link DCS-G900 640 x 480 but other than that it's the same camera with a different case for $xx less. The install software was even the same (but with Trend logo instead of dlink)
Other Thoughts: If you want a low price internet server camera, this is a good buy. Avoid the DLINK if you can't understand support from I n d i a.

TV-IP100W CAMERA
Pros: I find this camera to be an excellent price to value purchase. Easy installation. No cable needed for this model to be up and running. Took me about 1-3 mins including unpacking to have these two cameras up and running.
Cons: Two cons: no remote access to the 4X Zoom function, you have to be logged on to the camera on its IP address to control the Zoom. The other is that the stand is too short from base to camera for a really "any angle" mounting.

So-so - returned it
Pros: Reasonably priced, fair to good image quality (but see cons). Nicely packaged - looks good and is fairly sturdy.
Cons: The user's manual is sketchy at best, and not included as hard copy. When I discovered the admin password only accepted 8 characters I finally go it working. The downside to image quality was an intermittant slow flicker in the brightness, which triggered the motion detection software. The motion detection software is missing a required driver (they call it a Codec) for WinXP SP I or later. You must purchase it from a third party or scavange one from an earlier WinXP or Win2000. Trendnet support was unresponsive to my query. The focus is manual, and because of the long (1-2 second) time lag in the picture is very touchy to adjust. Patience will win out, though.
Other Thoughts: If you don't need motion detection and can tolerate the flicker, it's probably a reasonable purchase.

IP100W
Pros: Price Wifi b/g WPA-SPK encryption, Works with Firefox. Range in wifi is great. Picture is good for a CMOS network based cam. Camera software supports 4 cams at once.
Cons: Not CCD, Motion Detection is on the client installed software not the camera, and its windows based :-(, not linux.
Other Thoughts: I use it thru my linux server via a Windows xp vmware guest vm.

Very good for the price
Pros: Very simple setup (if you actually read and follow the instructions), the physical set up was a breeze. The video quality is good as well. No issues with connectivity.
Cons: The motion detection feature is so sensitive that it is unusable in my particular environment. I'm still playing around with it, and any thoughts on this would be welcome.
Other Thoughts: Turn off the UPnP feature, and use a static IP address.

Considering Returning it
Pros: works with Firefox and IE
Cons: Manual? Totally worthless. Tech support - I called a few times, avg wait much over an hour! Quality of help not good.
Other Thoughts: no sound, only way to mount is by screwing it into something, needs to be focused manually from camera and that is not that easy, and if you change distance a little then you need to set focus again. Seems to me that something like this should cost about $xx not $xxx.

Can't beat it for the $$$
Pros: I own three other brands of these cameras and for the $$$ you can't beat this camera. If your not good at opening ports, or setting static IP addresses, etc, then look for something that will hold your hand better...but if your comfortable with all that, then this thing can't be beat for the $$$. Since I can't mention other brands, let's just say I made the big mistake of paying 5X's this amount for another brand type of these (although they were PTZ and this one is not) and they are now in the land fill.
Cons: If your not good at networking setups etc., the software will leave you a little bewildered...otherwise you won't have any problems. If you do not need to record images, you can scrap the software all together and just use a web browser or FTP or Email images to you.
Other Thoughts: The password for admin can only be 8 characters. I was trying to use 9 and I was locked out out of the camera and had to reset a few times until I figured that out. Also the UpNP is turned on by default, so if your setting a static IP, and your router has DHCP enabled, you can end up with 2 ip addresses for this puppy. YuK, but easily solved by turing off UpNP. Also, if you don't want to use port 81 (default) the wording is little wierd as it says alternate port, leaving you to think 81 is still being used, but it's not. FUN TOY nonetheless.

Good enuff
Pros: Good price, especially with the rebate and free shipping
Picture quality is good enough, considering the price.
Cons: 1. Manual focusing is a pain and it would be nice to a motion detector built in. 2. The manual leaves a lot to be desired when it come to setting up the camera to be viewed outside the local network. 3. The company web site is very little help.
Other Thoughts: It took me awhile to view images outside the local network, but after I did, I ordered another one.

Powerful and inexpensive
Pros: Great value; does a lot for the money. Better than average picture quality for a camera in this class. Supports dynamic DNS (so you can see video over the internet even if your IP changes). Will email or FTP still images continuously or on a set schedule. Live video view over the internet works with either IE or Firefox/others (it uses either ActiveX or Java, selectable each time you log in). Supports both WEP and WPA security in the latest version.
Cons: Does require a good understanding of home networking in order to fully utilize its more advanced features, although you can have a basic live view up and running in just a few minutes. Requires opening at least two ports (and potentially three) in your firewall to view over the internet. Lens is not quite as wide of an angle as I'd like. Included software is kind of lame but is not strictly necessary unless you want to save video to your PC. (I mainly just use the live web viewing and image emailing features so far.) Supposedly, other software will work with this camera.
Other Thoughts: Some people wonder what the difference is between a camera like this and a regular webcam - the main thing is security cams have their own CPU's and embedded OS's, so you don't need a PC to be on to use them. For me, this has been a great buy so far overall - no stability problems and good image/video quality. I've got it emailing me images every five minutes and I can watch live video of my home from work. It did take some time to get everything set up, but that's a one-time process and there were no real hiccups along the way - just a lot of steps. I would definitely recommend this camera.

good bang for the buck
Pros: great functions for the money -picture quality is fine in daylight, not terrible using evening artificial lighting
Cons: once in awhile the wireless link goes down (probably interference from cordless phone), but easily solved with power reboot.
included software is a bit buggy, crashes every few days -main reason for only 4 stars instead of 5. Unfortunately, the SW is Windows-only. the camera works fine with other surveillance software; so this was not a show-stopper in my case.
Other Thoughts: the software has been updated by Trendnet now, perhaps the problems were solved. I haven't tried it; I'm using other (similar) software.
