Great Camera
Pros: Quality seems to be great. Settings are very straight forward.
Cons: Becomes unreliable when it comes to poor lighting. Not seen a light anywhere on the camera. Night vision mode is ok, but who works like that? :-)
Other Thoughts: Fairly expensive when I got it - about $100.00 more than it is currently.

Excellent Camcorder
Pros: Pretty good still-shots. Video is very nice and clear.
Cons: I required a different firewire head than the one provided, so I had to go out and buy one since it was incompatible with my card.
Other Thoughts: You need a pretty good computer in order to import your videos in High Definition. If your computer is lacking, then the import will drop frames.

Great Choice!
Pros: Let's be honest, the reason why we buy an HD camcorder is for the picture. The picture on this camera is fantastic. I zoom in on flowers and am able to clearly see the aphids sitting on the pedals. The touch screen LCD is a nice touch. Using features like the spot focus allow the user to touch the spot on the screen that you would like to focus on. For example, if you want to focus on a subject standing in front of another simply touch their image on the LCD. This camera is full of features like this.
Cons: The only downside to the touch screen LCD is that sometimes you mistakingly touch the wrong button. It is definitely not designed for those with large fingers.

A very solid HD camcorder at a great price
Pros: Small and light. Image quality is stunning, assuming you have enough light. Controls are relatively straightforward. Flip-out screen is a touch screen, and changing options/etc. is simple.
Cons: Battery life could be better -- watch yourself on this, because when it starts dropping, it goes fast. Only HD resolution available is 1080i - no progressive 24p or 720/60p or anything like that. Like all touch screens, the flip-out screen gets dirty from being touched. :)
Other Thoughts: Unless you're using "night shot" mode, be sure you have adequate light. If not, image quality quickly drops off to be comparable to standard camcorders. (This probably is an issue with any HD camcorder.) I recorded my grandson running from our dim family room to the brightly-lit kitchen, and you'd almost swear it goes from 480i to 1080i. Be sure you have software that can handle capturing/etc. HDV video. Overall, an awesome camera and Newegg's price is a lot better than the one I paid.
