Great Little Switch
Pros: Cheap and small, no complaints.
Cons: Not the fastest device in the universe, but for the price and size, you can't compare.
Other Thoughts: Fantastic if this is what you need. If it's your main switch, you might want to look into a gigabit switch instead, but just to connect something like your game consoles or to be used for guests, it's perfect.

Pros: - Plug and Play (it just works!) - Wall mount option - Small - Quiet
Cons: - Flashing Green LEDs are fairly bright, nothing some electrical tape can't fix. It would be nice to have an over-ride switch for these lights. - Plug-in is a little on the bulky side so it didn't fit with adjacent plugs on my power bar.
Other Thoughts: Plug it in and it works great. No config!

Great price with the MIR
Pros: Works great for splitting my ethernet line between my PS3 and my computer in my room
Has worked flawlessly for about 4 months
Cons: It's only 10/100, but you can't expect gigabit speed for this price.
Other Thoughts: We have Verizon FiOS, and this switch does not slow down the upload/download speed one bit (no pun intended). My mobo has a 10/100/1000 NIC, and I get the exact same speeds whether I connect to the router through the switch, or directly.

Great little switch
Pros: Fast and dead simple to set up. We have them all over the place. Cheapest way to get extra ports when you need them. Since they are just switches they don't even need to be configured; turn on the power and plug in until you run out of ports!
Cons: None. Other than the price for switches in general.
Other Thoughts: Be careful, these things can get addicting :)

Great
Pros: Wonderful component for a great price, plugged it in and it works.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Netgear delivers as always and newegg was quick in delivery.
Used this to get the needed ports to connect all the devices in my soho to my WNDR 3700.

perfect solution
Pros: This unit is very small (needed a small unit to mount under table)but very well built. Ran 70ft of cat5 cable to converted garage/play room and use this to split between gaming comp, XBox & ps3. All can operate at the same time with no proplems!
Cons: None after 1 year of use!

Up and running in 2 minutes.
Pros: Easy to set up. Great performance. Durable construction.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The most difficult part was getting it out of the box. I got this up and running in 2 minutes and has been quietly and efficiently doing its job since. Highly recommened.

remember to open nat setting
Pros: works perfectly out of the box.
Cons: need to open Nat in Motorola modem to attach xbox 360 and pc to work. if your nat is set to private you cannot attach more than one device at a time.
i couldn't attach the cable into the 5th port, just wouldn't fit, but with some persuasion got it to go in
Other Thoughts: after realizing the nat setting was set to private and opened it up i got it to work perfectly but not sure if it came with a defect in the 5th port or it was my cable that messed it up, still works works though.

Worked immediately and it's fast
Pros: Step 1. Remove from box. Step 2. Plug in cables Step 3. Use internet. There are few things that I buy that work EXACTLY as they say. This is one of them.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The rebates are stupid and are a hassle. Technically this thing is $9.47 or something with a $15 rebate, but it's a Visa gift card rebate and it'll take 90+ days to process, and probably won't even come through.

Very Good Switch
Pros: Endures the beatings of countless LAN parties and multiple computers running downloads and uploads for weeks on end with out resetting the box. Unlike the Linksuks that I have.
Cons: Easy to trip on cables when stretched across the floor?
Other Thoughts: Had one get messed up. (It was my LAN party and get thrown in the duffle bag switch.) Three out of the five ports work on it so all is good. The other still works good. Good stuff right here, tell you what.

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Feels very well made.
Cons: When I first got it, after a few days it started making a really high pitch whine sound. I'm not sure what caused it or what made it stop, but it did eventually go away. I marked it down one egg because of that whining sound.

does what i need it to do
Pros: Connects 4 Ethernet devices into 1 port of my router, Cheap, Small, and Well built
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Bought this for my entertainment Center to connect my 360 and HTPC together so i wouldn't have to run more than one wire to my router. Gets the job done and gives me 2 extra ports for a PS3 if i ever decide to buy one.

Reliable
Pros: Plugged in the day I received it and left on with nary a problem since. It works exactly as advertised with no fuss.
Cons: None really
Other Thoughts: I think its work paying a few dollars extra to go with netgear's professional line of network switches since they work well and don't introduce problems into a lan.

Pros: Works right out of the box. Unpacked it, plugged it in, plugged my router into it and I connected it to the computer I have my Magic Jack plugged into and my network Lexmark printer. Replaced the 4 port hub I had with no fuss and no software or configuring of any kind. I also like the metal housing, it shows quality and durability.
Cons: None

Simple & Solid
Pros: Unpacked it, plugged it in, plugged my router into it, got 4 more ports. Couldn't be easier.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: We had scads of these Netgear switches (and hubs) in the I.T. environment where I worked before retirement March 2007. They were tough as tanks and no one ever read a user guide; they just worked, day and night. I bought this one when, despite following all directions and unsuccessful customer support, I couldn't chain two Linksys routers. And NewEgg service has made me a addictive NewEgg customer!

Durable and compact
Pros: Metal encased, compact, no bright activity lights, power supply is high quality, can be used as a mobile switch.
Cons: Does not effect function...rubber feet eventually fall off if handled frequently.
Other Thoughts: Better constructed and same results as a c**co.

Great, solid, little box!!!
Pros: Works with my TIVO. Solid, well built. Didn't have to go out and buy a router. My upload and download speeds remain at what they should be.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Wanted to use my TIVO to access the web through the ethernet port. 1. Plug the modem's ethernet cable into port 1. 2. Plug the computer's ethernet cable into port 2. 3. Plug the Tivo's ethernet cable into port 3. I can search the web, TIVO updates itself, and I have access to TIVO's web extras, all without having to buy a router. Great little box!!!

Audible Power Adapter
Pros: Solid switch for the short time I had it
Cons: The power adapter made an awful whine - so much so that - with a splitting headache - I had to disconnect the unit and arrange for a replacement after only 15 minutes. Hopefully replacement will be better. Tech support was not thrilling - I wanted to just replace the power adapter but they continuously directed me to "return the entire unit to the vendor."
Other Thoughts: Did not purchase from Newegg

Great!
Pros: This switch is working great so far. Able to play L4D with two computers with no packet loss. Using the switch to bypass the Uverse router to speed things up and network three computers and two hd boxes. Used to get bad compression on HD now not so much.
Cons: just the usual power inlet in the back and the ethernet ports in front. Hard to mount with this setup.
Other Thoughts: It is a nice blue color with white lettering. green indicators are bright and has a metal shroud.

Outstanding
Pros: It works as it supposes to. I use it for the XBOX 360, PC, and a TV and all working just fine. Placed the order on a Friday morning, received tracking# Saturday, and the actually switch Tuesday morning. Great price, fast delivery !!
Cons: The manual is for another switch, but you really don't need a manual to hook 3 cables

Great little switch
Pros: I've owned a number of these and they're all still in the field and working hard. Even though NetGear's LIFETIME warranty is great, the bottom line is - you shouldn't have to use it. They're small, compact, solid, and look good... something about the blue color, the green LEDs, and the overall look of the switch. I love the fact that it looks just like they're professional 24 and 48 port switches (same metallic built; same color; same layout of ports and LEDs).
Cons: None that I can think of... maybe a bigger rebate :o)
Other Thoughts: Works great for the intended purposes... I guess this one will be discontinued in a year or two and taken over by the Gigabit version... GS105, I believe.

packet losses
Pros: it works out of the box, no real setup needed
Cons: lots of unexplained packet losses. plugged in a linksys switch and packet loss was gone. logical conclusion, this switch is defective.
Other Thoughts: my first bad review on newegg...

Pros: had the same one years ago. this one works just as well. convenient auto-switching and auto-sensing made splitting a connection to router easy

Good product
Pros: good product, good price, it's real plug 'n' play and forget about it.
Cons: not free, not wireless :)
Other Thoughts: I bought this from another on-line vendor (as a filler to get free shipping) and it was about 6 bucks after $10MIR. I also got the rebate in less than 2 mo. Doing what it is supposed to do with no human intervention.

Good
Pros: Very sturdy, heavy metal package design with a small footprint. Has higher operating temps than the plastic encased models.
Cons: Need status lights on the front (non cable) side
Other Thoughts: Worth the ten dollar price AR

Awesome product
Pros: Great product, does exactly what I needed it to do. Works straight out of the box, no problems.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Using it to connect my PS3 to the net. Didn't want to run another 40 feet of cable from my router to my room where the PS3 is so I just used the switch to split the LAN to my PC and PS3.

A solid little switch
Pros: Steel chassis, very small, and the power plug is the type which doesn't have a big footprint like the old AC to DC transformers. Metal-chassis switches seem to be a lot more reliable than plastic chassis ones; maybe because of ESD issues.
Cons: Ports are on the front like a rack-mounted switch. With a tiny SOHO switch like this, that usually translates to a bit of a cable mess, without any added convenience.
Other Thoughts: Bought this to provide connectivity for all the little devices in my entertainment center, so I only had to run one drop and not 4.

Just works ...
Pros: I got this switch as part of a network upgrade I was doing for my home office. Of all the changes I made, this is the only one that has not given me any trouble. (Apple Airport Express and Extreme seem to be 1/2 cooked!)
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Would buy again if I needed a small 10/100 switch.

NETGEAR ROCKS!
Pros: I've dealt with a lot of switches and routers at my company. After years of use, the LINKSYS junk and others failed in one form or another, and every NETGEAR switch is still alive. Does that tell us something?
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: Bulletproof, not literally.

Tough
Pros: Grounding tabs, metal case.
Cons: Power cable could be longer.
Other Thoughts: We had a 100ft cable run between two switches that would begin dropping packets at a certain time every day just like clockwork. We replaced the cable and installed this switch on both ends but the problem remained. Due to the timing of the problem I figured it was interference. I was about to replace the cable again with shielded twisted pair when I noticed the grounding tabs on the switch. I grounded the switches and have had no further problems. A cheaper plastic switch wouldn't have given me that option.

Bombproof switch
Pros: Small, armored, decent mounting tabs, rugged construction. Fast!
Cons: Occasionally gets a little gimpy when we experience brownouts but that could probably be solved by putting it on a UPS
Other Thoughts: Hard to beat Netgear quality ever since Linksys went completely into the toilet. I install these things for several doctors offices that I do work for and have had no failures thus far, while existing Linksys equipment has crashed and burned. They can take a beating too, nurses tend to kick hard under desks and these things can take it.

Love this little machine
Pros: Very inexpesive with rebate. Solid construction. Very small and good looking. Super easy to use right out of the box.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Both my HP2015dn printer and Itunes Airport Express would not communicate with my finickky Verizon router using factory settngs. So I used this little guy to do the configuring and, once they were set up correctly, I was able to move them back over to the wireless router. This will remain in my computer toolbox for years to come.

Pros: works like it's supposed to for a very reasonable price
Cons: no cons for product.
Other Thoughts: Netgear reneged on advertised $10 rebate even though Newegg purposely (and thoughtfully) held order processing to meet reqmts. Two emails to Netgear, no joy. One email to Newegg for help and Newegg made good on the rebate. Shouldn't have had to, but they did. Awesome customer service! Thank you.

Still going after 2 years!
Pros: Still running after 2 years! The metal case was very nice. Very simple operation at high speed. Very cheap.
Cons: Gets warm, no power switch.
Other Thoughts: It would probably be fine as is, but since I was worried about the heat shortening it's lifespan, I cut a hole in the case and added an old CPU cooling fan -which ran very quietly at the lower voltage from the switch's power supply. My unit has been through some sever beatings as well, falling down stairs and getting stepped on, that a plastic switch would not have survived!

Simply amazing
Pros: Plug and play, no hassle. Connected to upstream switch that is 10Mbps without autonegotiation and the FS105 detected the speed correctly. Robust metal case, heavy weight so it won't slide.
Cons: Constantly blinking bright green lights.
Other Thoughts: Would buy again, but probably the gigabit version.

Netgear Rocks
Pros: I own two of these switches, and use them for multiple computers and game consoles, and daisy chain them with various other switches and they work excellent. I have been buying Netgear products for 15 years, and have never had a problem with any of their products. Top notch brand!
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Whether you're hooking up multiple computers for file/printer sharing, or you just need more ports from your router, this is an excellent product and works flawlessly! It doesn't have enough ports for me really, but for the price you pay, you could buy 3 of them for the price of a decent 16 port. My next step however, is a 16-24 port managed switch.

Terrible Service!
Pros: If it works, it is rock solid in my experience.
Cons: If you ever need to RMA it, don't bother. Consider it disposable.
The AC adapter was broken on one of the few I've bought recently. Painfully, got through to support. No, they said, need to ship entire thing back. How wasteful, but ok. That was in 11/07. They got it, but still have not send me anything back. In fact, their RMA Dept voicemail is full, no more messages!
Other Thoughts: All told, there are too many other options to put up with this poor level of service. I will not be buying a Netgear anything again. This, after dozens of units bought, many of which are still in service. Too bad.

rock solid
Pros: i use these FS series switches all the time. they are rock solid and seem to last forever. I have some that have been in use more than five years. excellent product with a great price.
Cons: I prefer that the cables plug in back and have link/status lights on front. These always have everything on front, ports and lights. no big deal for me though.
Other Thoughts: these switches always seem to have rebates for them also, making g good buy even better. Unlike some companies, Netgear has always honored the rebates I sent in.

Pros: Ease of Use. Auto sensing ports eliminates the need for crossover cables when connecting other hubs/switches
Cons: None

Pros: Simply put, this product is compact, great in quality (since its metal and not made of plastic), ease of use, and achieves great performance for a simple network hub to connect additional peripherals to your LAN.
Cons: none

FS105
Pros: Worked right out of the box. Just hooked the cords from my router into it and connected right up.
Cons: Input plugs into one of the ports so if you have 5 devices you need to connect you will be short one but this is probably true for all switches.

Provided what was promised.
Pros: Just as advertised. Plug it in to a power outlet and connect your devices. As expected I see no loss of bandwidth through the switch.

Worked perfectly
Pros: I had a 100ft ethernet cable going to my bedroom to my computer, got a xbox 360 and did not wanna switch to wireless for either, bought this switch, plugged it in and it worked flawlessly with no install. Both boxes go online with no problem.
Cons: none that im aware of at this time.
Other Thoughts: Once again newegg has amazing shipping speeds, i consistantly get products less than 24 hours after ordering them. ive never dealt with a another company which i could say that about.

Excellent Value
Pros: -Small Size -Durable Housing -Auto Uplink -Small AC Adapter
Cons: -About and inch bigger than my old switch
