Works just like it should.
Pros: Cheap POE enabled switch. Does the job.
Cons: Only 12 Ports are POE, but I knew that when ordering it.
Other Thoughts: Running IP phones over this switch. Works just fine.

Only 12 POE Ports, Watch Out!
Pros: Cheap for a 24 port POE switch.
Cons: Only 12 of the 24 ports actually provide POE (see the link to the manufacturer's site).
Other Thoughts: It would be helpful for New Egg to explain this on either the product or spec page, or both!

Performs as expected
Pros: Plugged in and it worked, as expected. There has been no need to install software. It provides the POE to the phone system with no problem.
Cons: Is a little noisy.

Needs fine-tuning in large environment
Pros: Cheap, has 15W per port PoE. It has QoS management that helps in VOIP environment.
Cons: Default firmware is not good. You have to upgrade to 32 version. The fan is very loud. Default settings doesn't work for me, I had disconnect issues and strange network latency.
Other Thoughts: I had it working for couple of month without any problem...until I moved company to VOIP. Having 10 Aastra 480i phones I had network problems every day. I had to reboot it once per hour. It needs fine-tuning, default settings like QoS, VLAN did not work for me. You have to disable most features to have it working in large environment with active VOIP traffic, espesially if you have two MAC addresses per port, like PoE phones with dual ethernet ports. Would recommend to add $100 and buy Linksys.

Missing feature for the price
Pros: Power over ethernet (if you use it). Rack moutable. Easy setup.
Cons: For an extra $60 you could buy a 48 port switch with 2 extra gig ports AND comes with 802.1X for port security.
Other Thoughts: Not a very secure interface. I ran Nessus against it and found a few vulnerabilities. I notified Netgear about the issues, but they have yet to release a new firmware.

Pros: Rock solid. Does exactly what it is supposed to do.
Cons: not gigabit
Other Thoughts: I run this to power my phones. Never a problem. The Ipod touch rebate was the icing on the cake. I would fill my whole rack with these.

Great Value on PoE
Pros: Excellent price for capabilities and PoE. Best value I could find on a product with 24 ports and PoE (12 are PoE). Runs like a champ, never a shut-down or problem. Very capable web based GUI allows you to control PoE and everything with ease and virtually no technical knowledge.
Cons: Only has one cooling fan (but does not overheat). Would be nice to have a second fan.
Other Thoughts: I'm using these for small to medium office networks with VoIP phones where all phones run on PoE and no problems. Highly recommended and great value for SMB or SOHO.

Great Product, awesome price
Pros: Great price, great features (QoS,PoE)
Cons: only 12 ports are PoE
Other Thoughts: in response to EEMAN, the swtich also supports DSCP and ToS so you do NOT need to use VLANS. I know Polycom IP phones support TOS/DSCP and CoS.

Good price and performance
Pros: The most economical switch with POE on the market. Set and leave, I never have to worry about rebooting it or it burning out. I use them for access points in hotels and never had a problem yet, i more than 12 of them. I needed I could standardize too and grow it if need be. The unit can turn off POE to individual ports which is great for shutting down a section. The 12 non-POE port are great for me as well to integrate non-POE items.
Cons: I would like to have more information in the menus, but it does the most critical information. I would like a dual fan setup instead of a single fan.
Other Thoughts: Netgear should make a management software that can control multiple switch setups as one.

Good for the price
Pros: good price for PoE switch. Adheres to 802.1Q VLAN which is great for VoIP phones. Supports 802.1p CoS priority.
Cons: only 12 of the 24 ports are PoE. Switch does not recognize layer3 DSCP values set by most VoIP phones.
Other Thoughts: In order to get adequate VoIP QoS using this switch you must put your phones in a seperate VLAN and have them utilize 802.1p tags. These CoS tags are the priority 0-7 settings and only exist in the first 3 bits of the vlan packet headers.
