Avoid This Product
Pros: This is a nice-looking device that uses the standard C13 computer power cable.
Cons: This switch WILL fail on you, it is just a matter of time. We purchased 4 of these for use in our office and every single one of them has failed. The first one failed about 2 weeks, two others after about 4-6 weeks, and the final one failed today, about 4 months after we purchased it. They died in various ways: two quit working at all and the other two had random banks of ports die.
Other Thoughts: For somebody who previously recommended Linksys products to friends and family, I won't be any longer. My original hopes that Cisco would improve the Linksys brand have been dashed and I now realize they've done nothing but make them junk.
Interestingly, this switch (the SR2016) was originally branded as a Linksys switch, but now has the Cisco name on it. It doesn't matter though -- avoid this switch at all costs.

Another one bites the dust!!- just like the rest!
Pros: Worked well in the beginning....Looks ok.
Cons: Unit is FAILING as I write this! I thought it was one of the computers - Nope, it's the switch. Network is SLOW and ports are dropping like flies!! Never seen this happen quite like this. As stable as a hot plate on a mound of ice.
Other Thoughts: Some of the worst failures are the ones when a unit fails intermittantly... This switch is dying a slow death. (But why think it's the switch??) I wasted time until I figured out it IS the switch. Just like the other posts, this unit starts "dropping" ports. That's VERY annoying. So, after hearing all the other user's problems (you are all right! btw), I decided I'm not even going to apply for RMA - WHY? so I can get the 2nd piece of cr*p? Nope. I just will not buy or recommend linksys switches until they improve their quality and consistency. Sorry Cisco, you should have owned up to this one! Shame on you.

Very bad product
Pros: Works fine when you first use it. Easy setup.
Cons: Dies after a few months - we had a couple of these switches - 2 of 3 have died within a couple of months. We immediately look for this switch if there is a network problem.
Other Thoughts: Very surprised Cisco would want there name on this thing.

4 egg and here's why
Pros: 16 ports of unmanaged gigabit for approx $200 and Cisco quality and customer service. Can't beat it. Cisco means lifetime warranty.
Cons: Lost a week of time and shipping cost to send back the defective switch.
Other Thoughts: $200 for a switch that is replaced as many times a necessary? You really can't go wrong with it. Don't believe the 1-3 eggers. This is a good company and product.

Good looking, unreliable, waste of time
Pros: Looks great.
Cons: The first one died within one year. Linksys replaced it. The second one also died within one year. Not sure if I want the hassle of trying to get a third replacement or go with something that is better made. What if this stuff dies again, when I am away from home on vacation?
Other Thoughts: They should demote the engineer who designed this piece and the penny pinching manager who approved it.

Replacement Died
Pros: Has the Cisco name on it.
Cons: Doesn't work up to the expectations I had due to the Cisco name.
Other Thoughts: The original and an RMA replacement from Linksys/Cisco have both failed. First the first 12 ports fail, followed quickly by the failure of the remaining ports. The RMA process wasn't difficult, and I am willing to give a company a second chance. The person I spoke with indicated that this was a known problem and gave me no hassles in replacing the first unit after failure. However, now that the second one has failed in the same manner I am moving on and will not purchase further networking products from Linksys/Cisco and will recommend no one else does either.

Two bad units - they do not last
Pros: Good price, fast, easy setup, they were fairly fast to ship a replacement unit, uses large/standard power cable.
Cons: Unreliable, loud. I have had both units I owned die on me. 1st unit lasted almost a year, 2nd just a few months. The fan is the loudest I've heard in such a small unit! (and does not seem to help with reliability :) )

Don't Buy
Pros: Easy to set up, works right out of the box
Cons: Lasted only 6 months. Each Linksys product I got, it had to be replaced within year. Will never buy a Linksys product again.

12 out 16 ain't bad
Pros: No wall wart required. Rack mount or wall mount (it has screw slots)
Cons: Died in 7 months. The last four ports work, but the first 12 died dead. No lights, nada.
Other Thoughts: Linksys RMA process is a pain. 1) Go to the website, start to fill out a form, but you need a "case number" 2) Look around for a CS number, call it, and they tell you to go to the website. 3) Call again, and the CS in Mumbai takes 15 minutes to type in your name, email, and phone number. Gives you a case number, but no, that one can't be used for the RMA 4) Call a different Tech number, wait 15 minutes, talk to a tech, and finally get a case number 5) Go back to the web site, fill out the online form, and get the RMA.

Good while it was working
Pros: No compatibility issues, great speed, rackmount kit included, Newegg's great price! and the limited lifetime warranty (you'll need it!)
Cons: Like others here mine died at 15 months
Other Thoughts: I was going to rate this product a 1 or 2 but Linksys made good on the warranty and the RMA process was almost painless. Like reviewer DFles, I will be using the replacement Linksys as a spare but I'm looking at the HP Procurve J9078A or J9028B as a replacement.
