Got Net
Pros: Works right out of the box on Windows XP. No problem with the install at all.
Cons: HCL says this will not run on VISTA 64. IF you Google Linksys wmp54GS IEEE 802.11g you can find articles to help you Get-Er-Done.
Other Thoughts: As stated by the vendor it will only work with the print function of all-in-one printers. Windows 7 was not tested.

Linksys Wireless adapter
Pros: An affordable Wireless B + G adapter. Even if there are wireless N products available, there is still no real wireless "N" speeds that are achieved over the internet. B/G it is! :)
Cons: none

Um..?
Pros: It works
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: It's hard to say what's good and bad on products like this. It's either it works or not. It works just fine.

ehhhh
Pros: cheap
Cons: can linksys and xp play nice?
Other Thoughts: i never know whether to use the setup disc or not. in this case their FAQs show not to. wish i knew that before i needed to reformat for quirkiness.

Great Product
Pros: 1. Fixed PC gaming; was having horrible issues with games. I would freeze in place for a few seconds and then end up 10 spaces back and be dead...My connection has not frozen yet! 2. 5 bars signal all the time 3. good download speeds from servers
Cons: 1. CD it came with is useless. Do not even use the CD, just install the card and let Microsoft do the rest. If that does not work, right click on My Computer and click properties, then Device Manager, and choose your Network Adapter. Right click and find drivers if needed. 2. Speedboost is a joke
Other Thoughts: Great product with a great antenna, just let Microsoft install the proper drivers for you. The ones packaged with the product are useless.

Quite Nice
Pros: It went in, it worked with Windows 7 64bit no problem before installing the Linksys software.
Cons: Wish I would of read to NOT put the PCI card in. Tried deleting the drivers then loading up the software. It seems that the Linksys software does not work from the CD.
Its a xmas gift, so I will have to update this later to see if there are downloadable versions from the site that will work.
Other Thoughts: Antentanna a nice size

Works good
Pros: Installs smooth. Easy to add a better aftermarket antenna kit such as Hawking Outdoor Directional Antenna and 30ft cable extension. Seems stable. Previous Linksys Wireless Cards seem to have good signal inside avg size houses and I'm sure this SpeedBoost model should do well in most application with the antenna provided. Probably not ideal for HD 1080 video streaming.
Cons: Nothing yet
Other Thoughts: Make sure to follow the instructions. Running the driver disc first before installing the card. I've installed dozens of Linksys cards and corrected other peoples mistakes, its the only way!

A bit disappointed.
Pros: If you're running Windows, it works just fine right out of the box.
Cons: Good luck if you're running anything else. Imagine my disdain when I found, despite my deliberate efforts to do the opposite, that I wasted money on another piece of hardware with a Broadcom chipset. I can't use this hardware with my primary operating system because of this... at least, not without a lot of extra effort, and a decent spot of luck.
Other Thoughts: Everything wifi-related that comes with a Broadcom chipset should say so in giant, bold red letters. It'd save a lot of people money.

Dreadful, A pock mark on Linksys's reputation
Pros: Seems just fine and dandy during early ownership.
Cons: Not only is it expensive, it's not very sturdy at all. I've had two of these cards, and in both of them, the antennae broke. Not to mention, if you look up the information on the chip, Linksys technically didn't even make this card. It's actually a card by broadcom that's been re-branded and given a poor excuse for an antennae. Not to mention they charge an arm and a leg for the card.
Other Thoughts: Never buy this product. You'd be wasting your money.

Wireless
Pros: It works, although the requirement is based on only 20' on an old PC.
Cons: Software. Provide the driver and forget the convulted half way automated setup.
Other Thoughts: Setup was on XP, bit of a pain trying to seperate just the driver, off setup CD. MS worked better.
Newegg still delivers super fast service.

Works well with vista
Pros: works with wpa2 encryption. The linksys software is no good but luckily with vista you just use the windows configuration utility anyways. Installation was pretty easy, just pop it in a PCI slot and you're good to go.
Cons: Doesn't always get 5 bars, but it doesn't seem to affect the internet speed.
Made in China?
Other Thoughts: No complaints so far, works great with vista and hopefully will work with 7 when i get it

The card itself has been great, the drivers blow
Pros: - Easy to install - small card so will fit in crowded cases - picks up networks from all over my condo complex
Cons: - the driver disc sucks balls, I was getting BSoDs with the included driver disc, uninstalled it and everything is better.
Other Thoughts: I picked it up on sale for $24.99, and I couldn't be happier. I had just bought a condo and the router was in the living room with the TV and cable box and my computer desk in the guest bedroom. Got this installed and after the initial problems with the drivers off the disc, I uninstalled those and just ran w/ standard windows wireless setup. It works like a charm. I see about 10 networks around me ( 1/2 of which are unsecured...silly neighbors ) and I can connect to all the ones not password protected, even with a low signal on some of them. Many of those don't show up on my iPhone so I know this card has a better reach. Overall, I'm quite pleased so far.

Cheap and Good Quality
Pros: (1) Cheap; (2) Very small footprint on PCI slot; (3) Works on Vista machine - HP-8100N media center; (4) Clear setup instructions; (5) Good quality; (6) Wireless reception good - wireless router in kitchen, PC behind wall on 2nd floor bedroom;
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Setup suggestion - read the manual first!!! also try to do installation near to an existing wired network environment; in case your wireless setup fails, you may find it handy to just plug the network cable in so that you can get on the internet to google tips & solutions;
Initially WMP54GS could not start properly, then reboot PC a 2nd time, tried magic command ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew to resolve problem; now worked great;

Use WZC
Pros: Have had this installed for over a year now, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Use Windows to install the drivers and handle the wireless, otherwise you're going to have problems. Picks up wireless networks up to a block away and can connect without any issues. Would recommend to anyone needing a wireless adapter for their desktop
Cons: While installing the drivers via install disc, Windows would intermittently crash while re-connecting to the wireless network.
Other Thoughts: Use Windows' built-in Wireless Zero Configuration service to let Windows handle the wireless connections. Install drivers from the disc using the "Found New Hardware" wizard, not the Linksys Program. The Linksys utility is a hassle and sucks up resources

Don't install their program
Pros: Decent wireless card, been working for 2+ years without incident.
Cons: I just reinstalled my OS, and forgot that the program they send you is total junk. Just use install wizard to pull the drivers from the disk ... DON'T INSTALL THEIR SILLY GREEN PROGRAM. It eats memory, doesn't integrate well with Windows, and actually makes the thing a whole lot harder to use.

Great adapter
Pros: Just picked up my second one for another computer. Works much better than the USB style. with USB I would get 65% connection. With WMP54GS I get 94%. Nice and small, so it doesn't take up much room. Fits PCI, is low profile, and gets a strong signal.
Cons: none really
Other Thoughts: Thanks NewEgg!

Excellent Wireless Card
Pros: Installed without a hitch. Windows loads the drivers right away and then Windows Update loads the most recent drivers. Great Reception.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Great little card. I had no need for N since our router is only G. Thought about upgrading, but at the price I decided not to. I'll make the jump when we get a N router since that will work with my wife's laptop anyway.

Kinda good for about a year
Pros: -Worked OK when it was alive.
Cons: -Lasted about 10 months. It just died for no reason. -~56% connection when wireless router is just upstairs of me (~24ft away and through a wall) -Kept dropping connection when I pick up the phone in my room. My laptop's connection doesn't do that.

Get what you pay for...
Pros: Price (I got it for $29.99.) Quick shipping. Easy install. When they work you get a fast reliable connection. Picked up a gang of my neighbors networks so there will be no slack there.
Cons: Don't use the driver. Use XP configuration because the driver can easily clash with others. Actually the problem that I had was that the driver stopped working with the card and I did go to the XP configuration eventually. Do that and save yourself a lot of frustration.
Other Thoughts: I bought this in July 2008 and it is no longer working. I have tried everything including installing it to another computer. It's simply dead. It's a 30 day limited warranty replacement, so that could be an indication of the overall quality and confidence that newegg may have with the product. This is the 2nd card I've had in less than 2 years so I won't be coming back for more. Linksys is clearly taking a nose dive on their products so don't go for the brand name here.

Mac / Hackintosh / OSX - Works!
Pros: This card works perfectly in OSX 10.5.5 (hackintosh). It is recognized as Airport in Network setup -- no additional drivers need. Plug it in and use. This is the one and only one to get for your OSX hack box.
Cons: Price is too high, and the remanufactured version (at half-price) is now out of stock.
Other Thoughts: Finding a wireless PCI card that will work flawlessly with OSX 10.5 in a hackintosh is difficult. This one does it. There was a remanufactured version selling $20. It is now out of stock. Search again, it may be back in stock. Model is given as WMP54GS-RM. I got it, and it looked new, worked fine, and was labeled as version 1.1 (current new version).
NOTE: ONLY this model, 54GS, model works with OSX -- the 54G model uses a different chip set and will not work in OSX.

2nd one hopefully a charm!
Pros: Speedbooster does improve speed if you have the speedbooster router. Always choose Linksys for your networking needs. The fist one I purchased didnt work and this will be a replacement. Newegg is more than customer friendly they go all out to take care of you. Keep buying your parts here and support a great supplier of PC parts>Thanks alot Newegg!!
Cons: Got lucky with one that didnt work right and had to return for replacement. Glad to have purchased here from Newegg!
Other Thoughts: Sometimes PC parts can jsut simply be bad, calm down and ger er replaced!!

Good
Pros: Simple and easy install of hardware and software. Good connectivity. Software is intuitive enough for my wife to figure it out.
Cons: If the antenna is touching anything signal strength goes downhill fast.
Other Thoughts: Don't let anything touch the antenna. I have a 3 story house and my router (Belkin 802.11g) is currently setup in the basement. I had to get a connection to the top story and this did it for me. Signal strength is good but not great. I did try an older b/g card from another manufacturer that did not work in my application. I have two of these card in different applications running great.

WMP54GS to the point
Pros: It works. It is cheap. Easy to find in retail stores.
Cons: The software that comes with it. It eats up memory. (Sometimes it locked up my machine. I couldn't uninstall it even in safe mode.)
If you buy this card DO NOT INSTALL the software. Use your OS generic service and use the drivers on the installation CD if you need to.
Other Thoughts: DO NOT INSTALL the software that comes with this card. Use your OS generic service (Microsoft 'Wireless Zero Configuration' service.) And use ONLY the drivers on the installation CD if you need to.

Horrible Product
Pros: Has a nice box and packaging. Newegg supplied another product with great service.
Cons: This adapter is terrible. I have tried for 4 days now to connect to my LINKSYS router. At a 1.0Mbps connection speed I believe this product is terrible. Technical support is a joke and unhelpful. Stay away from this product at all costs.
Other Thoughts: 1 egg is probably to high, but 0 eggs was not an option.

good for 9 months
Pros: easy setup, good connections, never lost signal, good for online games, such as: wow
Cons: only work for 9 months, couldn't catch any signals after that, i though it was my pci slot problems, then find out it's not. hope they make the card at least last for more then a year when you pay <$50 for it.
Other Thoughts: bought the rosewill one from newegg, work great but keep lost signals every 3-5 minutes, very anoying. but i will return it to newegg.

Cons: After 5 months, intermittent connection problems developed. One month later, it stopped working completely. Kept getting the message: “you are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found.”
Other Thoughts: There are about 10,000 solutions to the problem posted through out the world. Don’t waste your time. Just buy a new card.
I bought this card without researching it at newegg. I needed something quick, and I didn’t have time to fuss around. Big mistake. From now on, I’m not buying so much as a package of wire ties without scanning newegg’s customer reviews.

Nothing should be this hard ...
Pros: Finally after many days of toil I have it working, hence the two egg rating and not one.
Cons: Why on earth does setting up this card have to be so hard? It took days of trial and error and scouring the Internet for various solutions to my problem.
Other Thoughts: Do not use the software provided with XP. You get a memory error and the software locks up your computer. Only install the drivers for the card like others have stated.

Good card
Pros: Picked this up from the wal because I was in a hurry(and it was cheaper..). Worked fine on my P5Q Pro. Didn't use the linksys software(because I never do). Grabbed the drivers off the disk, and it worked, with a great signal from a few rooms away.
Cons: Had to download a windows hotfix to get it working, but I can't really blame linksys for that.
Other Thoughts: I live in downtown Milwaukee, and there's alot of other wireless networks, and I have no issues playing online games with this card. Someone else noted that you'll have issues if this card is too close to another wireless device: not true. I use my work laptop wireless RIGHT next to my tower all the time, and have yet to have an issue. Good card, bad software(didn't try it, but linksys software/firmware has always been horrible for me). Use the windows tool.

Very Pleased
Pros: Installed without a hitch, XP service pack2. Excellent connection, even picks up my neighbors network over 200 feet away!
Cons: After installing using included software, pc would occasionally lock up. Removed software and used drivers from disc and the problem went away.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great product, excellent range, just don't use the speedboost software and you will be fine.

Awesome for price!
Pros: This card is a bit more but when you factor in that I got the shipping for free it was only about $1-3 more than the off-brands. It worked on my XP SP2 installation after installing the drivers with no issue. I did get it on sale, though.
Cons: It takes about 10-30 seconds depending on what I have running for the network to connect when resuming from standby, but that's Windows' fault.
Other Thoughts: I would go with this card if you want a great PCI wireless G card!

Good Hardware, Bas Software
Pros: Good Price. small size. Extra Antenna will help a lot.
Cons: Software is not good enough. It always conflict something in your computer or your router. You have to disable the software, and use Windows to control. sometime you also need turn Antenna a little bit for getting signal when signal can't be detected.
Other Thoughts: Good for people with small distance from computer to router. It may be a problem when two wireless cards become too close.

Pretty good
Pros: Seems to be pretty solid, I'm 1 living room and 2 walls away from the router and I was able to download at 10 MBps, the max my verizon service gives me. During a speed test my ping was 13ms so in my situation anyway, it performed about the same as being wired to the router directly.
Cons: Sometimes the linksys software blue-screens when trying to establish a connection, but that only happens when I'm messing with it. Might just be conflicting with the windows XP wireless software.
Other Thoughts: I don't really think you need to install the linksys software itself to make it work - just install the card normally and pull the drivers off the cd.

Does what is says
Pros: Just follow the instructions run the disk then pop in the card and its good to go.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: You will need to run the install disk before you install the card. But don’t need to install any off the silly linksys software let windows manage your wireless connection.

It gets detected but XP will hang
Pros: Is easy to install in computer case....but
Cons: Will not work with older Intel Chipsets (i.e. 440BX/ZX) made in 1998 and below. Windows XP Pro SP3 will detect the card, but it will hang up on a Code 10 in the system devices. Also trying to start up the system with the sound card installed will make XP hang and it will not go farther than the welcome screen.
Other Thoughts: My Current system has a 950 MHz Celeron, 512 MB RAM, with a 440BX chipset and Windows XP Pro SP3. It seems this card is not compatible with this particular chipset. Many forums I've looked at said that there was a conflict between this card and older chipsets. I'm going to keep this card and install it in a new rig I plan on building in the future.

Doesn't support 64bit OS naturally
Pros: Pretty much plug-n-play pci card. Pop it in and install the drivers and you're good to go. Don't bother with any of the linksys installs.
Cons: Failed to realize that Linksys doesn't support 64bit OS's before I bought this. After going through Linksys forums, found a post of a guy posting drivers to support 64bit XP/Vista on majority of their products. Wonder why Linksys themselves don't support the drivers.
Still a bit pricey. Found the same card elsewhere for ~$35.
Other Thoughts: Wish Linksys had provided an antenna that was on a cable instead of mounting it on the pci card itself. Would have preferred putting the antenna on top of my desk for a better reception.

Works great just as advertised
Pros: I don't understand why so many people have problems with Linksys products. This adapter works great paired with a WRT54GS. I get "very good" to "excellent" signal strength in the upstairs room where my PC is located. The router is in the room below so the signal stays strong even through the ceiling. I also have a Linksys USB adapter that I use on another desktop in the house.
Cons: It's not as good as wireless N but it gets the job done. I plan on upgrading to wireless N in the future.
Other Thoughts: It works great and I have no complaints. Don't listen to the negative reviews some people don't know what they are doing and try to blame problems on the product. Just make sure you let windows install the driver and don't install the Linksys software as it tries to take control of the connection and causes all sorts of problems.

Pros: Linksys/Cisco hardware is pretty decent. Got this on sale for half of what it is now, so it was a great deal.
Cons: Linksys software is trash
Other Thoughts: (For XP) Install card, use xp setup wizard and use cd for drivers only! Don't install linksys utility. If your router is using WPA2 encryption, download Windows XP update: KB893357 so it will support WPA2, otherwise it won't connect unless you change your router to WPA/WEP encryption instead.

LINKSYS WMP54GS IEEE 802.11b/g 32-bit PCI Interface Wireless-G Adapter with SpeedBooster
Pros: Using vista 64bit , I installed first the CD software and then installed the adapter . Vista 64 detected hardware and completed the setup and detected network . Entire setup was straight foward and took about 20 min . Have not lost a connection yet and usually connects at 54mbps .
Cons: Wish there was an extension cable for the antenna . My case is inside a desk with the antenna mounted in back of the case near wall . Signal is still usually rated "good " to "very good " , even with my setup .
Other Thoughts: I am using gigabyte DS3R - P35 board with intel E6600 and 4gig ram and vista home premium 64bit . Does what it should for me .

Pros: Works right out of the box, just make sure to use windows to set it up.
Cons: DON'T USE LINKSYS'S SOFTWARE!!!! Pain in the *** to deal with.
Other Thoughts: Card=Great Software=Junk
Got it on sale. Still a good buy.

was skeptical at first
Pros: Excellent signal. I'm always getting five out five bars. Consistent speed.
Cons: A hassle to install. I had to move my mobo about a cm because it wouldn't align with the pci slot. The packaged software and drivers are horrible. Antenna doesn't stay up.
Other Thoughts: At first, I was only getting speeds of 1mbps and couldn't figure out why. I then changed the channel on my router and it has been running smoothly at 54mbps. Don't use the software included and let Windows configure the settings itself.

Linksys WMP54GS
Pros: Good value for money; good connectivity- no lost/dropped connections; easy to install and use
Cons: Speed with SpeedBooster enabled is much slower- started at 48Mbps, but it went down to 1 Mbps at one point, so I use it with SpeedBooster disabled- 54 Mbps is fast enough for most users- Internet connection is only 3Mbps, so 54Mbps is only used for internal file transfer between 2 PC's that have the same GS card; in my case- I did not need this utility, since I don't really need to transfer large files via the wireless link
Other Thoughts: Got mine in one day- installation took all of 5 minutes- up and running

nice card
Pros: worked out of the box. excellent signal.
Cons: maybe it's winxp and dhcp but had to enter a static ip address then it was as easy as entering the password for a connection.
Other Thoughts: didn't use the linksys network connection software. used winxp wireless software.

2.4GHz Cordless phones will mess with your signal!
Pros: Easy to install and set up.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I had some "weak signal" issues for the first week I owned this, then a friend of mine pointed out that my 2.4GHz cordless phone was what was messing up my signal. I needed a new home phone anyways so I got a 6.0 cordless phone and have had no signal issues since!

Poor card
Pros: nice package, good program interface
Cons: connection problem: tried on 2 machines, both failed. One could not find the card at all, driver installed but "connect" button is greyed out; the other installed driver successfully, found router but stayed in connecting forever.
Searched Linksys support forum, a lot of people had the same problem. Also, people complained that even it connects to internet, connection speed drops dramatically from time to time.
If it works at the first try, congratulations!!! If it does not, forget it. I've spent 10 hours on it and it still refuses to work. It is time to give up.

Mediocre card with less than mediocre Support
Pros: Universal card, works in 3.3V/5V PCI and PCI-X slots. Little better performance than the D-link card on a 3MB file download test, nothing extra ordinary.
Cons: This is a low profile card but does not come with a low profile bracket. If you are planning on using it with a 2U system or in your HTPC, look somewhere else as the company does not supply a low profile bracket. I contacted Linksys, and the support person does not even know what a low profile bracket is (?)_(!)

Get something else
Pros: It seems to be made well.
Cons: The signal is garbage. The only time I got a good signal was when the wireless router was in the same room or an adjacent room. I had constant weak signals and connectivity issues. Then I tried a cheap generic USB wireless adapter (like a thumb drive) with no antenna and my signal immediately went from "very poor" and "poor" with the linksys to "good" and "very good."
Other Thoughts: I bought this when I was in a fix so I don't blame myself, but do yourself a favor and get something else.

Solid Product
Pros: Solid connectivity when used with a Linksys router. I've never tried with any other router, so I don't know whether or not it's good to use then. In theory it should be, but I prefer to be consistent with brands because configurations then remain less cumbersome.
Cons: none

meh...
Pros: Works well MOST of the time. Installation is easy (if you don't use the included software). Worked in XP and Vista for me.
Cons: It takes pleasure in driving me crazy. The 1st few months i used the included software and kept losing my connections. i found out later that going through windows is MUCH BETTER. But even after all that, the connection speed isn't consistent. i usually can get 54mbps but sometimes it goes anywhere from 24-48mbps and it keeps changing. also, it dies under heavy burdens, and it doesn't seem to like multi-tasking (i can't download files and stream video to my 360 at the same time). and when it dies i have to restart my computer for it to work again. oh and the antenna is in the way of my video card ports.
Other Thoughts: Don't use the included wireless monitor software, it's terrible. Your connection will drop CONSTANTLY. even in the LINKSYS support page it tells you NOT to use THEIR software. So if you get this or ANY linksys wireless pci card, set it up through windows and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble.

Great!
Pros: Its great, works perfectly fine with my WRT54G Linksys Router.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Everyone Who rated this product a 1 or 2 star your not installing it right. You can either use linksys software which WILL connect you to a wireless router if YOU configure it right, Or you can use the one integrated with windows XP all you need to do is go to C:/windows/system32/services.mcc open it go to the bottom of the list look for "Wireless Zero Configuration" right click then start and if that dosent work its not the wireless adapter its your computer!

Your standard wireless NIC.
Pros: Really easy setup... run the cd first, it tells you it will turn off your computer. Install card. Turn on computer. Done. 54mbps.
Cons: I dont understand all the fuss about installation. The instructions say in big red letters [RUN CD FIRST!]. I dont think they could have made that any more blunt.
Picks up a 75% signal from my router which is in the other room.
Other Thoughts: I wish i bought it from Newegg instead. Its much cheaper on this site than the store i purchased it from.

Read the Manual
Pros: People, read the instructions. You don't need Linksys software for Windows XP (just drivers). If you don't recognize the name of the network, you're probably connected to someone else's network (ie outside of your home). I've been using this adapter for about 2 years and it works well. I had a pc on the 2nd floor with the router in the basement and I usually got 48 to 54Mbps connections. I used it in another pc on the 1st floor and it was only slower because it was right next to a refrigerator. Read the directions!!! I'm buying my 2nd adapter after using the 1st one for over a year.
Cons: None I can think of. It works as advertised.
Other Thoughts: The speed boost devise and this adapter both advertise 54k connections. I've found that 54Mbps is plenty fast. Most people don't have internet connections faster than 5 or 10mbps. So why would you need anything faster than 54Mbps?

Speedboost Great
Pros: Works awesomely. Got vers 1.1. No driver problems, no spontaneous disconnects, gets data as fast as a wired 100mbps network. Nice antenna, gets good range
Cons: None, didnt come with 802.11A
Other Thoughts: Using a WRT54GL router with Thibor 15c Speedbooster enhanced. Dont really see why so many problems. Driver and config utility immaculate. Using a Intel G33 Mobo Core2 E4400. WinXP MCE 2005. Remember 802.11g has shorter range than 802.22b. If u max out the range of the g radio, ur router will switch to B and ur only gonna get 11Mbps

Pros: Good speeds (1 mb/s) on my residences wireless.

Speedbooster should be called SpeedReducer
Pros: It works on Windows Vista, but not with driver I found on its product page.
Cons: They meant to say SpeedBooster REDUCES performance by 35%. VERY slow and poor connectivity compared to tiny dell wireless card on laptop. I was never able to get it to work on XP. I upgraded to Vista, and was still not able to get it to work. I talked to the tech support, and they told me to get the driver from somewhere else on the website. I don't know why they would have the wrong drivers up, but they did.
Other Thoughts: Very slow. I have the Linksys WRT54GS wireless router with SpeedBooster (which is very good) so I thought this would be a great match. WRONG. The big stupid antenna is just for looks. The tiny wireless card built into my dell laptop is faster by more than 10x faster download times. Still mad it never worked on XP (terrible software driver). Do not buy it.

good NIC
Pros: Installation is as easy as falling off a log. PUT THE CD IN FIRST. Follow the prompts. If you can read, it will work.
Cons: none (okay, the box was hard to open. Are you happy?)
Other Thoughts: Upon install, this card saw my linksys wireless router, and 4 other unsecured ones in my condo building. Cool.

Better
Pros: Easy installation. Just put in the cd, install, reboot, and bam. Pretty good range, and good speed. (Currently 36MBps... a huge improvement from the regular wireless G adapter)
Cons: Could be faster.
Other Thoughts: Overall a pretty good card.

Pros: easy to install
Cons: driver is old! no updates on the web. when i come back from STANDBY linksys driver is corrupted EVERY TIME. I cant roll them back or update from the net. I have to uninstall driver then re-install from cd. EVERY FREAKIN TIME.
Other Thoughts: i get moderate 36-48 Mbps in the room directly above the wirless point with this card, while my laptop gets 54mbps continuously without ANY breaks or dips...

Choose another, Atheros-based card
Pros: None
Cons: The company who makes the chipset that powers this device, Broadcom, is notorious for releasing bad drivers/firmware and refusing to work with the open source community. This card cannot connect to my WRT54GS in the room next door while my girlfriends PowerBook (encased in aluminum I might add) CAN.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time, buy a better supported card based on the Atheros chipset like one listed here:

Good card
Pros: The signal is very constant, never have issues with it. The software is easy to set up if you know what to input. Works on my already existing network. High speeds when in range.
Cons: Range isn't all I'd hope it to be. Also, the software doesn't always boot up right.
Other Thoughts: Good if you don't plan on moving very far.

Useless Card
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: This card cannot even connect to my Linksys router. The router is a WRT54G. The range is 54% even only from two rooms away.
I've tried this card in different networks too and it's just horrible. The software is useless too.

Absolutely Horrible Experience
Pros: I was able to use the internet a couple of times with this.
Cons: Unreliable Software makes no sense Everything else
Other Thoughts: While every other computer in my house enjoyed internet access, my computer was just wishing it had another wireless card so that it too could connect. The software would say that it had a good signal, but then when I told it to connect it would say that the network was out of range. That was just the most recent problem with it, I don't even remember all of the others. I found myself constantly having to use my old Buffalo access point instead of this, but still would hook this up every now and then. It never did work for more than a day. Instead of being a "speedbooster", it proved to be a "stressbooster". After having numerous other Linksys products that don't work, I will NEVER purchase Linksys again.

only works for me?
Pros: installs easy. works through 2 plaster walls and hardwood floors. im getting pings of 13ms on BF2, which is unheard of. hasnt dropped signal yet.
Cons: antenna is mounted in a spot that conflicts with video card outputs, so have to point antenna to the side a bit.
Other Thoughts: why is everyone having such a hard time with this? must be all their bad karma.

Constantly Drops Connection
Pros: None.
Cons: Under heavy loads, such as copying large files from one computer to another on my network, the card will stop responding. I cannot do anything to the card (re-connect to wireless network, enable/disable device, etc.) without restarting the computer. I have downloaded the latest drivers from the Linksys website.
Other Thoughts: I have had similar problems with other Linksys wireless products in the past, so I will probably never purchase Linksys again. Newegg still rocks, though!

It Doesn't Play Well with Others
Pros: Small and easy to install.
Cons: First of all, I only have Linksys parts in my small network. WMP54GS wireless adaptor messes up the router WRT54GS and two other wireless adaptors, WUSB54GS and WMP54G. It somehow causes an erratic internet connection to all the computers. The problem has finally stopped when I removed the WMP54GS adaptor, reset my router and restart all the computers. It is a non-player.
Other Thoughts: Another thing is the location of the antenna. It is located at the same place as the video card connector. The antenna therefore has to point to the side on the back of the computer.

Don't Buy This!!!
Pros: It is easy to set up and running.
Cons: After putting together with the wireless PCI card with the speed booster, it puts out about the same speed as the regular LINKSYS WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband Router. Very often it is actually slower than the regular wireless router. A few days later the power supply went, so I replace it with a new power supply. This work for another two weeks, and now I have an erratic internet connection. I have Optimum Online, therefore I don’t think is my internet company. I can’t even return it, because I bought it as an OEM. Right now all I want is a properly working router. So let the buyers beware.
Other Thoughts: My last Linksys router (WRT54G) lasted 14 months, then it was fried for no reason.

Perfect wireless network card.
Pros: This is a great network card, unless you know nothing about networks, then you might hate it. But it's worked great for us for over a year now, and all Linksys products have always worked great, because Cisco is the best company around for networking in my opinion. I've always used them, and always will.
Cons: I think they could of put a longer antenna on this card, for those persons, that hide their computers. Other than that, nothing else wrong.
Other Thoughts: The only thing I can say bad about it is, I am getting rid of it now, to upgrade all our networks to the new N stage. Can't wait to test it! If you want a reliable. affordable, networking system, go with Linksys! If you know nothing about networks, have someone else set it up. In the past, I would say it was impossible for the majority of users to setup a real network, today that difficulty has decreased about 50%. So there still is some knowledge needed when setting up your network, "The right way". Just read, until you can't read no more about networking. There are so many tricks, and options to turn your connection to super speeds, even faster than what the broadband company has you are able to get!

For the ones having problems with the Linksys Drivers
Pros: First off, I didn't buy from the egg but from someone else. However I was price matching when I saw that a lot of people seem to be having problems with the linksys drivers.
Here is what has helped me out a lot. Down in the lower right of your screen by the clock right click on the Linksys Monitor Icon. Then choose to use "Windows XP Zero Configurations Utility". This will allow Windows XP to take over the task of the running the wireless adaptor.
Personally this has helped out a lot and is one of the few things Windows does right. Currently I get on average around 36Mbps. Sometimes in the lower teens and sometimes up around 54Mbps. But usually sticks around 36.
Cons: Took me a format of drive C, lots of hair pulling and help from a friend to get this figured out.
Other Thoughts: Seems to be working fine now. I've only been using the Windows Configurations Utility for about a week now so I'll see how it holds up down the road.

seriously doubting linksys
Pros: Pros? What Pros? This is XXXX!. Now work as good paper weight.
Cons: 1-Linksys software is absolutly horrible(with this and all their other stuff) 2-This has never worked for me. 3-Tried on Linux k2.6, Vista beta, win XP 32 and 64 - failed all! 4-When it does work(XP 32):only for a few hrs and constantly drops connection. 5-I'm even using this rubbish with the Linksys high gain antenna HGA7S
Other Thoughts: recommendation:forget brand names, try to find out the actual chips on the cards, and pass on the fancy labels and gimmicks. Shame on linksys, all the units they sell, they should invest in developing better software & drivers. Their Tech support was clueless 2 (I work as a Net Admin, schooled as Software Dev.)

Cons: NoNe!

Very poor
Pros: Setting it up wasn't too hard.
Cons: I have been using this card for a year but it has done nothing but make me angry. I finally have saved the money to buy a replacement card, and I'm sure anything will be better than this.
It will constantly drop my signal, and it has poor connection speeds. I've tried to install a friend's card into the same PCI slot as this, and I got perfect connection speeds. This linksys will sometimes drop my signal and refuse to reconnect, but if I reboot my machine (running XP) it will work again. Most of the time my connection speed is 1Mbps. Horrible card.

Buggy network adaptor
Pros: The good news is it has a decent range and will give a strong signal strength at fairly long distances.
Cons: This card is buggy. I've had the driver crash on me several times. And worse still, periodically it will decide to simply not work and will not find any networks around it. Then after a reboot it will work again.
Other Thoughts: The card is version 1.1
