Linksys WPC600N
Pros: Great card! It solved a consent problem I had with the internal wireless LAN I had on my old Dell Latiitude C640. All fixed now. Has great range and is completely plug and play as long as you follow the directions.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: When setting up wireless networks it is imperative that you follow the directions completely.

Just About Perfect!
Pros: It's the perfect solution for older laptops. The problem is that they use mini-PCI cards (not mini-PCIe like today's), and it's pretty hard to find a reliable internal card to work with them. So this ends up being the easiest solution by a long shot.
Cons: It only connects at 270Mbps max, not the full 300Mbps.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried the 5GHz band so I can't comment on that. I'm using 2.4GHz w/ 40Mhz bandwidth.

Pros: Dual Band
Cons: This is an udate to my "Works Great" review of 7/13. I based that on the Linksys software signal strength readout of 65%. Better than my old card I thought. Well I had some difficlty getting connected later and switch to the Windows Zero Config utility. It told me I was only getting 1 bar. Worse than my old card. Also, it takes much longer than any other card I have used to initially find a signal (possibly because of searching 2 bands). So its now a 3 star rating. It works, but not worth the full retail price.
Other Thoughts: When I moved close to my router to get a 2 bar signal, The linksys software reported 75%. Still slow to finish it scan for available networks.

Works great
Pros: Easy install on XP Home. Replaced an old USB b/g adapter in a 5 year old Compaq 2800 laptop. I am getting better range to my existing b/g/n router.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Got this in "recertified" form on a "Shell Shocker" deal. Excellent investment.

Great on Windows
Pros: Great card when installed on a Microsoft Operating System.
Cons: If you want to run it on a non Microsoft/Apple OS it will not work because Linksys has not made the drivers open source so I could not install it on my Ubuntu OS Laptop (Hardy Heron). So beware if you are planning on running Linux

no problems
Pros: followed directions, software first then install the card. Worked on first try. Running XP Pro on an old Dell Inspiron that would not work with the newer encription. Instantly found my Linksys G two floors down in the corner of the basement.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I usually avoid the Linksys software but this time everything was smooth. Have had no trouble with the system remembering wireless settings.

linksys wireless card
Pros: I got this card on sale for tweenty four dollars. Can't really complain for that price.
Cons: Make sure you cheek the specs on your laptop before you buy. I bought this and it was the wrong type I needed exspress. I couldn't return it because the store I bought it at is going out of bussiness.
Other Thoughts: Go to the website and cheek the specs before you buy. The makers site should say wheather or not it is exspress.

Fast & Solid with a twist
Pros: Blazing fast N-speed. I'm streaming high-def 1080p content with no hiccups. connected to an old Dell 9100 without issues. Drivers are solid.
Cons: Runs a tad warm. not so much that i'm worried about it. for whatever reason, it runs better using the linksys software.
Other Thoughts: I was seeing some poor performance when I installed the driver only and allowed XP to manage the connection. I installed the Linksys connection software (which is usually horrible) and I'm seeing a big increase in transfer speeds. I can't really explain why. The software isn't too bad, so if that's what it takes to get a good connection, so be it. It still gets my 5 eggs.

Great Card, Great Price
Pros: There's great range on this thing. Using a built-in wireless g receiver in my laptop, i couldn't even get the net across the house. I popped this card in (after the install CD) and immediately had at least 3 bars from the other end of the house. Linksys also has good tech support! Oh, and it's got a shiny underside; it gets a gold star.
Cons: The installation can be a bit tricky. Don't just pop in the card! Do as the instructions tell you and put in the install cd first. Unfortunately, i skipped the instructions and just popped in the card. This put me on the path to Linksys's tech support, which quickly identified the problem and walked me through fixing it. They weren't outsourced; they get a gold star.
Other Thoughts: It sticks out a tad bit much for my liking. It's only about an inch, but i definitely take it out when i put the laptop in its case. Also, if using windows, if you put the computer in standby and pop out the card, make sure that you put it in before waking it up. Things will run more smoothly that way.

Check Your Card Slot
Pros: This is the new dual band Notebook adapter. It can receive both the low 2.4 and high 5 ghz bands from 802.11B, G or N type routers or from the dual band linksys WRT600N router.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Positively check your notebook for the proper "cardbus" slot before ordering. My new notebook has an "express card" slot which will NOT take a wireless adapter. Need to get the "USB" type wireless adapter.

Not Ready for Prime Time
Pros: Very fast (when it worked) paired with the WRT600N Wireless Router
Cons: It's picky about what laptop computer its installed in. Some users had an excellent out-of-the box experience. I did not - system consistantly froze between 1 min to 2 hours after boot on a Toshiba Satellite laptop running XP. Linksys Tech support is great, but they had to admit (after five calls and much tinkering) that they could not help.
Other Thoughts: The firmware & driver needs much in the way of improvement. I'll be running on just the a/b/g mode off the router until the WPC600N Version 2.0 is released. I do intend to try again.

Works great
Pros: Dual band gives the best chances of being able to connect to ANY wireless access point.
Cons: I'm not a big fan of having to use the Linksys utility, but I had another problem causing it to not be able to connect to my WRT600N
Other Thoughts: I'm about to buy another one for my GF, if I'm able to get the card to work without the linksys software.

Great card
Pros: Great range, easy to install. Software for Windows is really excellent. Works well under Linux with ndiswrapper. There is a howto in the Ubuntu forums, but should work as well with other distros. Great design, works well with B/G and N networks.
Cons: None that I found.
Other Thoughts: Native support under linux would be nice!

Good overall, quirky software
Pros: Good throughput, and stable connection. Easy setup (luckily since tech support is difficut to get through to).
Cons: Like the previous review, the Linksys Wi-fi software does not retain the profiles and connection settings. Each time I boot up i need to redo all of the connection info (SSID, security setting, and passphrase).
Other Thoughts: I have this card installed in an older 1.6GHz XP machine. My wireless router is the Apple airport Xtreame and my wife's computer is an Apple Macbook Pro and everything works fine with no issues.

Needs a Little Work
Pros: When connected works very well. Stable, high throughput rates.
Cons: I have this adapter installed in a Dell Inspiron 6000. I've disabled the onboard wireless adapter. The Wireless Network Monitor will not save a profile. I have to enter all the appropriate information ie ssid, wpa2 settings etc and it connects and works wondefully throughout the session. Once I shut down and reboot, the profile is gone. I have to re-enter all the info. Bug needs fixing.
Other Thoughts: The hardware works very well. I'm connected to the corresponding WRT600N wireless router and it works extremely well. (See my review on the WRT600N). Once they get this "save profile" bug ironed out. I'll be very happy.

Good strong connection
Pros: very stable drivers for Vista 32-bit; very strong connection with Linksys WRT350N
Cons: none that I am aware of
Other Thoughts: I'm using mine on my desktop computer with a PCMCIA to PCI adapter card. I'm getting very strong connections through 2 floors and 3 walls. The release drivers are not giving any problems with Vista Ultimate 32-bit

Pros: Use a wireless stereo speaker system in office along with wireless tablet. With this card, no interefence between the two and excellent 100-270 mbs transmission rate.
Cons: have to manually connect to the router
