Great router works well with Macintosh computers
Pros: Good range, very reliable, good speed, and great performance
Works well with Macintosh and windows computer operating systems that have a wireless interface (network card, adapter ect.) Macintosh OS 10.0-10.6. Windows OS, seven, vista, and xp
Setup is rather quick (without using setup cd)
Cons: Setup Cd is a joke really, but if you are some what knowledgeable with wireless networking then setup is breeze
Other Thoughts: works well as a wireless adapter for xbox 360 with some modification to the product. However, not recommend as it will/can void the warranty on the product.

Works Great
Pros: Sleek profile, fast to configure.
Cons: No antenna.
Other Thoughts: I've always been a fan of linksys and this one doesn't disappoint. I think the lack of antenna reduces the range, but it works in the small office we are using it for.

Terrible performance
Pros: looks nice. easy to install.
Cons: After about a week of owning this, I began experiencing slowdowns to as little as 1 mbps for hours per day. I've been putting up with this for nearly 6 months because I haven't had time to deal with Linksys's awful tech support.
I updated firmware, I optimized my settings, I unplugged and replugged the power as often as I blinked, nothing worked. Total, inexcusable hardware failure.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy this, go for the WRT54GL. This is the worst router that I have ever owned.

Frequent restarts
Pros: Setup was relatively easy
Cons: This router requires a restart (unplug, then plug back in) to restore an internet connection for all pc's, including the primary connection. This is the perfect router to buy if you enjoy doing this very often.
Other Thoughts: If plugging and unplugging your router every day doesn't sound like something you want to do, then pick another router.

Perfetto!
Pros: Love the sleek, small, jet black design. So far, it has boosted my speeds on everything 5 fold! Of course this is what I expected from, Cisco, and I love them for it. Newegg is perfect with shipping because I live on IL and their warehouse is in NJ, so 1 day shipping. PERFECT OVERALL! A+++
Cons: Not a thing I can come up with.

Pros: small, easy install
Cons: doesn't work, poor customer service
Other Thoughts: I bought this router about 6 months ago. It was very easy to install and setup. I haven't had any problems getting anything connected to it, but what makes it horrible:
1) after only 6 months I lose all connectivity (wired and wireless) on average twice per day. I have to power-cycle to fix it. I upgraded to latest firmware 1.0.4 and still does the same. 2) customer service is terrible. I did online chat which worked well, but all they did was have me switch mtu from 1500 to 1492 and said to call back if the problem didn't go away and request an RMA. I called today, but there was no RMA option so I picked support. I told the tech I needed an RMA only to have to give all of my information again just so she could tell me I selected the wrong option on the phone menu and I needed to call back. I'm now on hold waiting for customer support and the message is saying "you can't get an RMA without an RMA code from Tech Support" (and no they didn't give me one). Now that is bad service!

Great for starters!
Pros: Easy setup software and instructions that pretty much anyone (even someone with no computer knowledge) could follow.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Doesn't have all of the fancy features that some of the more expensive models have...

30ft range.
Pros: Flat form factor. Simple connections.
Cons: No range whatsoever. Installation disc never worked. Overall, very frustrating experience to setup.
Other Thoughts: I bought this for my inlaws to help them have a laptop, desktop, and wireless digital frame working alongside their new DSL. Spent roughly 5 hours trying to get this thing setup - and I've completed several wireless installations similar to this in the past without as much difficulty. Discovered the cons I listed above. Did a firmware upgrade, tuned the settings. Was only able to get about 30 ft. range out of it on the same floor with line-of-sight. This is probably the worst product linksys has produced IMHO. This may be a brand-breaker for me. You'd be better off getting the older WRT54GL if you can still find one.

Worst router money can buy
Pros: Name brand makes you feel fuzzy inside. Surprising number of extra useful settings.
Cons: Disconnects constantly even after new firmware.
Other Thoughts: Piece of garbage.

Not a fan
Pros: Didn't run across one.
Cons: I worked on setting this up for fam member. Wireless connection was not constant. Spotty dropping for up to 5 seconds before reconnecting. Connected wired Windows would recognize connected to a LAN but the router, windows, or maybe the anti-virus(something...who knows) was preventing the router from playin nice therefore I could not WIRED get working.
Other Thoughts: I have worked through my share of wired/wireless network troubleshooting and all I have been able to logically troubleshoot(no big deal). I shouldn't have to call the hotline number to resolve an issue that shouldn't be an issue in the first place!! Maybe these are issues with newer routers/OS and I am a bit out of touch either way I am not a fan of this router.

Easy to Setup. Easy to use.
Pros: Setup is easy. I didn't use any of the setup discs. Logged in through the browser and went on my way.
Cons: None really. Just need connectivity throughout the house.

Wireless G
Pros: Easy setup have had other routers but this one I know I have secure connection
Cons: The Trend Micro security suite caused too many problems and I had TM with my laptop at purchase with no problems
Other Thoughts: My current virus and adware programs work great. Never fix what isn't broken.

Pretty terrible for wireless
Pros: It looks cool. No problems with wired connections.
Cons: Poor signal strength and connectivity for wireless. Using a Linksys Wireless Adapter for my PC, I am roughly 20 feet from the actual router in another room. The router itself is on the top of a computer desk. My signal strength constantly flickers between 3 bars (Good) and 2 bars (Low). Connection speed constantly changes between 14 MBPS to 54 MBPS. Works okay for basic internet browsing and functionality, but very poor performance for gaming. I've tried flipflopping the channel it broadcasts on, changing security settings to WPA2, moving the router's position and resetting to factory settings to start all over again. I have not tried updating the firmware upgrade or DD-WRT but based on many reviews that I have read on this site, even that route is iffy and a royal pain. For over 100 bucks spent total (router and USB adapter) I feel that this product (and the adapter) are a failure for wireless internet. As a first time buyer I'm real iffy about any other products from Linksys
Other Thoughts: Not worth the hassle unless you like to challenge yourself. Wired connections are king; I don't care what anyone says.

Not great
Pros: Seems to work OK for average use and web browsing, both for wired and wireless connections.
Cons: Using P2P applications, connections are severely limited. I got this to replace my old WRT54G, and the speed decreased dramatically. I have a 30Mbps/2Mbps connection at home, and I am not able to utilize even a quarter of that using P2P apps. It seems to limit eMule connections to around 150 or 200, and does not seem to achieve a speed much over 8Mbps, even with a wired connection. Would not recommend using for any P2P applications.
Other Thoughts: Good for general browsing, bad for P2P (or anything else using a lot of connections).

I must have a bad router.
Pros: When it works, its pretty fast. Normally it connects to all 4 computers and two cell phones without hassle. The Blackberry can easily make UMA calls over the router.
Cons: Drops connections frequently. Doesnt normally reestablish them without some fiddling. For some unknown reason this router gives me issues when trying to file-share between our computers. Never had these problems with Netgear. The software is not designed for power users and its a little too complicated for normal users. Luckily most folks will only have to use it once and then forget about it. Cute little stylistic box is very inconvenient. You have to lay it right side up which means heat gets trapped underneath and the big blue lights are annoying if you put it in your bedroom. I miss the old Linksys design. But I guess cute sells more units than quality does.
Other Thoughts: I am one of those few who think Linksys was better before Cisco bought them. Now they are far from the best and a poor desicion unless you dont know anything about the product, OR you need a high WAF, (much like buying Bose audio products).

Solid, stable 54G
Pros: Simple sleek design. Decent performance. Range is solid in my house (70'x26' long rambler with the router in the middle). It has been fire and forget since I installed it 2 months ago.
Cons: None specific to me, although this is a secondary wireless net on my house.
Other Thoughts: I added this to my 802.11N and CAT5e networks, because I bought an iPod Touch and bought my wife an iPhone. THANKS STEVE JOBS FOR NOT ACTIVATING THE 802.11n EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE 802.11n CAPABLE!
For those of you adding this to an existing router (or 2 in my case), do not use the wizard for setup. You must manually configure the router, otherwise you will have an IP conflict.

It's okay, but...
Pros: It's an okay router if you can get it cheap and you don't have a really large house. I wouldn't pay full price for it.
Cons: The model that is being sold now is most likely revision 1.5 and as such cannot run DD-WRT because it has only a 2MB flash unit.
The stock firmware, I have heard, has an IP connection cap of 512 connections, which is not hard to reach depending on what you're doing.
Also, the range of these is not that great compared to other models with the normal antenna arrangement.

Device failure after 6 months
Pros: Worked fine when it did work.
Cons: unit failed after 6 months, often dropped all settings, the unit would often drop the internet connection while still broadcasting the signal, the fastest download speed I could get from this unit was about 512kbps
Other Thoughts: This is the second linksys router I've owned. The first one was an old 802.11b router that was often times faster than this unit and was definitely more reliable until it started having the same problems I've had with the wrt54g2. It took about 4 years for the 802.11b router to go bad though.

Linksys WRT54G
Pros: Solid, easy to cofigure device that provides firewall, router and wireless capability to residental customers. Some advance features like QOS, basic URL and keyword blocking, DDNS support etc.
Cons: Removed capability to reveiw per port statistics New design of device eliminates optimal wireless coverage flexibility. Wireless pattern is lateral which can cause issues for wall moutning. Since Cisco purchased linksys, Cisco has successfully made it extremely difficult to get simple firmware updates. Linksys process was much simpler.
Other Thoughts: Great residentail unit for homes 600-1200 SQ ft, single level.

Perfect
Pros: -Works well with ICS and dial-up (Something my old Belkin couldn't) -Setup Program was very easy to use -Lots of security options -Stylish
Cons: My only gripe is that the setup software doesn't work at all under Win7. I set it up with Vista, so I didn't have a problem.
Other Thoughts: Word of wisdom: Download Windows XP mode from the microsoft website or set it up on another computer.

Power cycle nightmare
Pros: The easy setup lulled me into thinking this was going to be a quality product.
Cons: This unit will not operate for more then 30 minutes without it power cycling itself. At first I thought the wireless connection was dropping due to the unit's poor coverage (see most of the other reviews for more on that) but then I watched the WRT54g2 repeatedly reset itself. The power light starts flashing, all the wireless and wired connections stop working, the power light goes back to steady state for a few seconds and then the unit power cycles again. This series of events lasts about 30 seconds before it starts working properly.

Wireless Beware
Pros: Very easy to set up, works great if your computers are directly connected through internet.
Cons: Very short signal range, loss of connection with wireless.
Other Thoughts: If you just need a router for basic use, connecting computers with ethernet then this router works great. I was 1 room away from the router and I kept getting connection loss. Avoid this if your wireless device is in a separate room.

Rubbish!!!
Pros: It works fine wired up. I have my PC, PS3, PC#2 and TV hooked up. They work fine.
Cons: I'm currently sitting about 15ft from the router, nothing between us, and have lost connection several times. I loose connection throughout my house and find myself reconnecting several times no matter what I'm doing. I've had trouble connecting my friends' laptops to it. One friend was staying with me over the summer and we NEVER got his connected. We couldn't figure out how to connect a Mac successfully (I don't know if it's compatible honestly). The range is a joke. My house is a loft, with my bedroom about 25 ft from the router with no doors or walls separating my room and I get "low" reception.
Other Thoughts: I loved my Lynksis wireless G router. 10x the reception anywhere in my old house with all kids of stuff between me and the router.
Don't waste your money on this thing

linksys failed
Pros: Cosmetically it is nice?.....
Cons: This is a very hit and miss router. sometimes it works fine... other times it does not.... I get a more stable connection to my neighbor's wireless than I do to my own with this router. It's garbage, the range is a joke, I am constantly battling with this thing.
Other Thoughts: The only reason I'm giving it 2 eggs instead of 1 is because it does work properly sometimes... But sometimes isn't enough, it should work all the time, consistently.

Great product from Cisco
Pros: Excellent setup program for those with minor tech knowledge. Solid performance. I connected 6 Wi-Fi devices with no issues. All devices are scattered around the house and receive "very good" to "excellent" connections. WPA2 security. Beautiful design. Included (limited trial) "Network Magic" software excellent for network monitoring.
Cons: $40+ extra after trial ends for "Network Magic" software.

Got Lucky
Pros: Luckily, I received a v1 model! Flashed with DD-WRT within minutes. Looks solid. External antenna mods are floating around the web. Just google search.
Cons: No external antennas. 2MB
Other Thoughts: Have had a wrt54G for many years. It has been rock solid. Bought this one on a whim to set it up as an AP.

Best Bargain IMO
Pros: Plug and play with Vista x64. 4 outputs + wifi is sufficient for most. Wifi speed and reliability are great. Unit is sleek and easy to install, reset, read. Linksys is high-quality networking equipment. Price is right. A wifi router should be <$50 IMO.
Cons: No N with this model, but G is all I need anyway. Besides that is why price is lower. So not really a con...
Other Thoughts: I had a pretty old Belkin Wireless G Router (version 2000) for the longest time and it worked fine until I built two new rigs with Vista x64. Basically, when downloading a lot at once, like say streaming HD video on computer 1 and downloading Nvidia drivers on computer 2, the connection would occasionally get broken and I would have to power-cycle the Belkin unit to get it back. I tried updating firmware, but no help. I think the extra-high bandwidth from two fast machines was too much for it. I figured I would try Linksys this time around and get this new stealthy one (remember the old blue giant? lol). So far it works great with my new setup, as it should. I set up a couple scenarios like the one mentioned above and no breaks in connection. This was well worth the price for me.

Doesn't work with Apple Airport Express
Pros: cheep, easy to setup, nice design.
Cons: basic functionality, does not work with Apple Airport Express
Other Thoughts: I bought this router to replace an older D-Link that was resetting wireless connections every hour. It was easy to install using my MacBook Pro and all the Macs and PCs connected and I was happy.
That was until I tried to print this morning. I found that my computer could not see the printer which was connected to my Airport Express. I checked out the Airport Express (which had been working flawlessly with the D-Link router) and saw that the light on the back was flashing orange. I tried several thing but could not get it to work.
I finally gave in and called Linksys tech support. They told me that since all the other devices were connecting correctly there was nothing further that they could do to help me and advised me to call Apple. I called Apple and they said that they have a record of incompatibility between the Airport Express and the Linksys WRT54G2 but had no solution. Their suggestion was to return the WRT54G2 and get another Airport Express. Not sure what to do now.

Never worked
Pros: Linksys name, price
Cons: Never worked. Constantly dropped wired/wireless signal.
Other Thoughts: I am a long time user of Linksys products. Up until this purchase I wold always buy and use the older style Linksys WRT54g; the one with 2 antennas. This one never worked correctly. Wired or wireless signal would drop constantly.

SLOW!!
Pros: Sleek looking, easy setup
Cons: Degrades internet performance significantly.
Other Thoughts: I've had the router for over a month now, and have spent countless hours on the phone with Linksys technicians trying to tweak the settings to make the router work as well as my old Netgear but to no avail. Even an replacement unit wouldn't work with my network. The download speed just drops dramatically with this router. I wish I could return it to Newegg, but I'm outside the 1 month period. I'll probably sell it on and hope someone else has better luck, and buy a Netgear

Pros: Put DD-WRT on it, works amazingly. Looks good, much more incognito than 'classic' wrt54g Has a reset button, which given my router position is easier than power cycling.
Cons: No external antenna seems to degrade range a bit - I can't give specifics, but compared to an old 'classic' wrt54g this seems inferior, thus the loss of an egg. Also directional placement is much more of an issue now. Also seems a bit pricey now that it's been a year and the price hasn't changed a bit...
Other Thoughts: Can't speak for the stock firmware - if it supports DD-WRT why would I? Does it's job well enough in two <1,000 sq ft apartments, but seems like it may be too weak for a house.

Newer version is lacking
Pros: It is a decent enough router that does all the basic things you would expect out of any router, as long as you plan to use it like it comes.
Cons: If you plan on using custom firmware (as I did), the most recent version of this hardware (v1.5) only has 2MB of flash memory, down from the 4MB found in 1.1 and 1.3. Only 1.1 is currently supported by DD-WRT, and 1.5 might never be because of the lacking RAM (1.3 is being worked on). Buying one now will more than likely be version 1.5 (as of Sept 2009). I bought mine expecting DD-WRT compatibility just to take it back. It would be nice if specs listed the amount of flash RAM.
Other Thoughts: It is a router, and does what routers do, but not great for enthusiasts that like custom firmware due to the decreased amount of RAM.

Slow connection with Vista
Pros: Reasonable price. Worked for me on my shoestring "last semester of college budget."
Cons: Incompatible with Vista. Certain routers (this one) have a feature called "SPI Firewalls" built into the router. Sparing all the technical jargon suffice to say it is another kind of firewall on the router that provides protection. However, it is grossly incompatible with the way windows Vista handles data. "When you try to use a Windows Vista-based computer behind a firewall device, and you try to make a non-HTTP network connection, the network connection fails." The result for me was a severe drop in connection speed, 12-14mb/s Upload speed dropped to .5-3mb/s. The fix lies in disabling the router's SPI firewall, which cannot be done with the current firmware, so you are stuck with it. The only band-aid fix at the moment is to disable the "Recieve Window Auto-tuning feature" in Vista. This means that overall your networking efficiency takes a hit just to make it work at all. Currently there is no word on a fix from linksys and just the band-aid fix from Microsoft.
Other Thoughts: Good price, all around could be a good router, if the SPI firewall could be shut off. If new firmware comes out that allows it, I'd change this review to a better score, until then. This router is something I would advise against if you are running a Vista system.

WRT54G2
Pros: Inexpensive, but not if you factor in the poor performance / doesn't work. Small footprint
Cons: Poor overall router performance. "Automated" setup using the Linksys CD was more difficult than others. The Network Magic software is IMO worthless and a resource hog for a small home LAN. Linksys should recall this product before they totally tarnish their reputation.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time and money on the WWRT54G2. I returned mine and replaced it with the WRT54GL which was the router I had originally planned to buy. I simply connected the WRT54GL, cloned my PC IP address, and all is back to normal, i.e., speedy performance with no disconnects.

Outstanding wifi performance!
Pros: Easy to log into and configure from the web browser. Easy to config IP addresses . Works great, good solid performance. Solid construction. Connects well on all 3 computers in my house AND my iphone wifi.
Cons: NONE, thus far.
Other Thoughts: Run a computer business and set up home and office networks for my clients. Will definitely be using this device for more installs.

Works fine but there is still minor problem
Pros: -
Cons: -
Other Thoughts: Everything works fine for me except the fact that my connestion speed went down to 54mbps. instead of 100 and I have no idea what is wrong with it. Plus, the installer CD that comes with it somewhat help me a liltle but after that, just uninstall'd be nice. If anyone could help me with this connection speed problem please kindly do since I am looking forward to get this thing works!

WARNING: DROPPED SIGNAL
Pros: It's black, and i like black, it goes well with my computer. It routed the connection...most of the time.
Cons: (bought this at a nameless faceless corportation that has best and the word buy in its name for 60$)Let me just say, i may be 1 out of 1 million people that have a problem with this router, but i had a problem i could not solve. It was a dropped signal. It would drop signal and the only way to get it back was to unplug and plug the router back in. So i spent a month talking to technical support and other users, each one runs through the exact same bull the last one did and i tried a month earlier, update firmware (which in itself was a pain in the rear). Nothing worked and i couldn't take it back cause i voided the warranty hardcore with custom Firmware and opening it up. In the end, i threw it in the trashcan after only a month and bought a Netgear. Something i know works and i never had a major problem with.
I eventually found out that many many other people are having this problem, but like with most problems its a minority, not the majority.
Other Thoughts: I dont want to discourage anyone from buying this, just to warn them. You may not have this problem and you may love it. I didn't I was a long time linksys lover and now i refuse to touch any of their products after messing with this one and dealing with the "technical support" they had. I hated this product so much and it caused such a headache that not even buying it on newegg, but loving newegg, i figured i should warn people that their MAY be a problem with dropped signal, and in all honesty, if i was reading this as a consumer, i probably wouldn't take the chance. Thank you newegg for your great service, I been a loyal buyer from you for many many years, i apologize and i promise to always come here first, i learned my lesson going to best buy, i truly did.

Decent but could be better
Pros: Trusted name in routers. Good looking compact sleek design with internal antennas. Comes with software that gives a few features for monitoring your network. Works well for non-demanding home use. Some of the pros could also be considered cons (see below).
Cons: - Bad design putting the heat vents are on the bottom. I put mine on the floor and the carpeting blocks the air flow so I turned it upside down. I prefer vertical layouts.
- Internal antennas probably decreases range but I don’t have a Linksys antenna model to test it against.
-The software could be considered bloat ware, I’m not sure if the router will work without it but I think it should but I don’t mind it and it doesn’t slow my computer.
Other Thoughts: Value wise, G routers have been out so long with no improvements and their price haven’t gone down much. I ended up going with this model to save money and because my roommate has G wife. Only a 1 year warranty, these devices tend to fail after 3-5 yrs. I bought this because my Netgear quit on me, but who’s going wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement without the internet? In summary, it works but the design more about looks and less about function. Dressed up old technology that gets the job done.
In regards to complaints about dropping connections all wireless routers do it. For anything demanding that you need working all the time wired is the only way to avoid those problems.

decent
Pros: nice design
Cons: weak signal. no option for external antennas.
Other Thoughts: I ran to pick this up locally when my WRT54GL died. That was running DD-WRT. But I'm not even going to flash this one. Just going to get another GL instead or maybe a dualband with better range out of the box. if you have a decnet sized house and can't place this in a central location you will not have a good signal.

Droping signal
Pros: This product worked great for about the first 2-3 weeks.
Cons: After the 3rd week it started dropping the signal a couple times a day. it would drop the signal while i was using the internet or even using the computer, i would come back to use it and the computer had no signal and it takes like 5-10 mins to get it back because u have to unplug the routers power plug, then click next, then unplug the modem power and then it searches for a signal for a bout 5 mins.
Other Thoughts: other than it losing the wirless signal more than once a day over all it is a pretty good router for home use. But for some reason i cant connect to the router using my PSP.

LINKSYS WRT54G2 IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless-G Broadband Router - Retail
Pros: Order arrived in record time. Placed order early am Monday, paid for push at order desk, product arrived Tuesday pm free postage, installed with ease and is up and running.
Cons: Sorry some reviewers had trouble installing or failure in product use. Hope mine lasts 3-5 years like the last one.
Other Thoughts: Would recommend to a friend.

unimpressed
Pros: The thing works...most of the time.
Cons: I bought this drive to replace my WRT54G which died for some unexplainable reason. This router's range is pathetic. It wont give me a signal in a room that is 30 feet down the hall. I constantly have to powercycle the router to get it to work. Im very unimpressed and wish I had gone with a different one.

Linksys is Definetly Worth It!
Pros: Great features. WPA/WPA2 is awesome for encrypting your wireless signal along with the firewall and Mac Address filtering. Great signal, SO much better then Belkin!
Sleek slimmer design then most routers too!
Cons: None so far, just some minor troubleshooting. Nothing the average computer person couldn't do themselves.
Other Thoughts: Linksys is king of routers!

BLOAT
Pros: Router works fine so far. Haven't fine tuned it yet, but secure wireless up no problems.
Cons: Bloatware. The installation disks slowed my laptop to a crawl. No options to decline stupid unneeded software. Uninstalled programs instantly, but something is still hiding in there because there's still a noticeable slowdown.
Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure if I could set up the router on my own without the install disc, so I used it. I figured I'd just uninstall any garbage they put on there. Apparently, they didn't just install their own garbage. They hid it. Why do they do that???

It's a router. It works. End of story.
Pros: Router came up just fine and I have had very few problems with it. It's a great router for what I use it for: surfing the internet and sharing my internet connection with my fellow co-workers. The included LELA application adds some extra management and monitoring functions.
Cons: None that I can think of. I had a problem with it once that I could not for the life of me figure out so I restored it to factory settings and now it works fine again.

Not too bad
Pros: Small design and no external antennas help to take up less space. Great signal for having no external antennas I might add. Features a web interface for those who wish to dive deeper into the configuration to tweak it to their liking. Comes with a setup CD and instructions to help people who are not technologically savvy get up and running quickly. Finally, the major pro of this router in my opinion is that it actually does NAT for multiple LAN subnets on it's own (lets you use router mode on all the other routers connected after it after setting up static or dynamic routing), unlike my WRT54G which refused to do this. Might have been to make the setup more secure.
Cons: The VPN pass through on the V1.0 hardware is broken. I contacted Linksys and all I got was a runaround and no resolution. If you need to connect to a VPN server behind this router, you're in for a major headache. Would be nice if I could get it replace with a V1.3 A friend of mine has the same router but it's V1.3 and it doesn't have this problem. What makes it worse is that I bought two of these, one for work and one for home use and both of them were V1.0! How bad is that? :(
Other Thoughts: Do research before buying a V1.0 release of a product. It appears there's always bugs in first releases of anything these days. Also, if you're going to be putting DD-WRT on it, makes sure that you won't ever want to revert back to Linksys stock firmware because as of right now there is no revert.

Better then WRT54GS
Pros: Worked better then the WRT54GS it replaced. Sleek Design. It works.
Cons: People who say they have a high tech knowledge and trash a product without tweaking the router.
Other Thoughts: At first the router did give me some problems but so does every router till your go and set it up properly. Once you do that you'll have little to no problem with the router. Dont expect to plug it in, and it works.
2 things i found to get this router to work good is. 1) Change the channel. Every router around me had the same channel so i can see some fighting going on with that. Changed it and removed some of the problem. 2) Take the "speedburt" off if you dont have a linksys adapter that will work. Once i did both of them the connections are stable and fast.
Another suggestion. Google is your friend. Do some research about wireless connections and what options to change to get better reception.

Easy setup, poor range
Pros: Setup this router for my dad. Easy setup.
Cons: Very poor range. 40 ft away in another room gets poor signal. The old linksys had much better range.
Other Thoughts: New sleek style, poor performance

pretty good
Pros: I have one computer direct connected and two connected wirelessly through this router. Once initially established, no problems connecting or staying connected. No drops, no glitches. No problem with torrents, games, or other media that requires high download rate.
Cons: Security Keys are difficult when trying to be backwards compatable. Streaming upload rate is limited to around 50mbps per connection, including hardwire connection, even if you test ping at over 300mbps up.
Other Thoughts: Advisor/Administrator interface is slow, no tool/option for disabling the tray icon which slows everything down until you exit out of it. Only a minor annoyance.

New Egg rocks, Linksys charge me $10!!
Pros: Love newegg, best shipping and best prices, love you guys. The device is nice, but the costumer support charge me ten dollars to install the device remotely!!! this is stealing, but the device itself is awesome, get this if you want something reliable, and the speed is not bad too.
Cons: The costumer service ten dollars Dollars, other than that, nothing
Other Thoughts: I think (or I was thinking) that if you are selling something, the CS is to help the costumers, not to rob them!!

linksys fail
Pros: It came with a power cable?... grasping at straws here.
Cons: pretty much a complete failure of a router, wireless signal drops constantly, and when it is connected it isn't a full signal from only 50 feet away. I get better connection to my neighbor's router across the street. Does battle with my DSL modem and disconnects randomly throughout the day. updated firmware with no improvement.
Other Thoughts: Complete garbage, but at least shipping was hasty as usual. Newegg is awesome as usual.

HORRRRRIBLE Router
Pros: Cheap, small in size, decent if internet is used only for minor, light browsing....
Cons: HORRIBLE ROUTER when it comes to gaming or anything which requires a long-term steady connection.
Times out every 20 minutes or so. Not good for downloading bittorrent or anything of the sort. I also can't get one solid game going without being disconnected. This is BOTH wired and wireless.
Also, if anyone connects to the router it will disconnect everyone else whose on it momentarily.
The nature of the problem is this... it doesn't say disconnected or anything like that. The connection appears fine, however the internet disappears for about a minute or two and then comes back. I have done tests and have watched graphs of my bandwidth drop, I MEAN PLUMMET down to zero, EVERY TIME. Blatant CRIMINALS, Linksys. Clumsy, lousy, unfair, low quality, garbage. You should recall your stinking garbage and give everybody their money back.
After troubleshooting for days and testing my modem direct to pc and testing other routers I have CONFIRMED that this router absolutely stinks.
Other Thoughts: If you buy this router, I think you deserve what you get, because this is your warning right here.
Linksys had a looong time good reputation with me- but they decided, "Hey, let's stop making good reliable products and let's release these half-baked, scrawny little pieces of trash and no one will know the difference." Guess what, we do.
Also, range and speed of this router is nowhere near the previous generation of wrt54g routers. Seriously, what's the big idea here? Who wants to sit 15 ft away from their router? Unbelievable.
Upgraded firmware, etc. Still terrible. After all the headache I decided to install dd-wrt firmware which is solid. Guess what? Correct. Still a worthless excuse for a device.
This is the worst travesty I have ever witnessed as a consumer and as a 15 year experienced IT professional. LINSYS, ewwwww! Shame on you.
This is foul and wreaks of dishonest low level, low class work. Someone at Linksys needs to be fired. I hope you're reading this.

easy, solid but lacking range
Pros: In 6 months, never had to reboot. Easy to configure. Works fine with devices in close proximity.
Cons: Limit range. In my house, connections were weak around 1 corner and 25+ feet away. Replaced with WRT54GL (stock, no DD-WRT). With WRT54GL, I can make a strong connection anywhere in a two story house. Maybe its the different between internal and external antennae.
Other Thoughts: both routers purchased from Newegg, of course

I would buy again
Pros: This router is an average sized router. The cool part is the internal antenna which is sweet for a slicker looking office. All around aesthetically pleasing. I have noticed no difference in the range with internal as opposed to external antenna. The best thing of all is that the device has an extremely low power consumption. If you need to leave your router running 24/7 i suggest this piece of equipment. Go Green and help us all out.
Cons: A little time consuming attempting to get set up with multiple operating systems but that's about it.

office heater
Pros: good when connected to ethernet
Cons: constantly overheating even in a cool room, design pushes all heat through the bottom at it just sits getting hotter and hotter, wireless worked well for a couple of weeks, now works sporadically and for short times, constantly having to unplug, cooldown, and restart
Other Thoughts: dont buy this design, go with the original model, I have been running a WRT54GS for over 5 years on my own network and never had any of these problems with that form

Drops Internet connectivity
Pros: Good price and good list of features
Cons: Router drops Internet connectivity at least once a day and it has to be restarted. I called Linksys support and they advised to upload latest firmware. I told them that it was the latest one, but they insisted to re-upload it anyway. Obviously this didn't help.
Other Thoughts: I get more and more frustrated from Linksys products.

Always disconnecting
Pros: It worked fine the first few days, and that's it.
Cons: My internet connection always get lost. Most of the time my connection would be from 54Mbps then will go down to 1Mbps after a few minutes. Have to restart the wireless router again and again and again, and it is soooooooo annoying!!

Would be great if...
Pros: Good price, good wireless coverage, easy setup
Cons: Constantly losses internet connectivity
Other Thoughts: I've tried everything to fix the problem but to no avail, so I have to write my first bad review on newegg. This is problem apparently with a small amount of this router judging by the internet. Every 20-30 minutes the router just stops responding, no internet, no going into the router, no network at all. Then after about 2 minutes, or after a manual reset, it works, until the next time it drops. I love linksys, always owned their routers, but I can not recommend this and would highly recommend you avoid it.

Pros: decent price. Use it as a hub mostly, a lot of ethernet ports. Wireless only works for one of my computers.

EXCELLENT!!
Pros: EASY to configure. I didn't install their software, just did the manual install. Worked great.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Other Thoughts: I bought this router to replace my WRT54G that is dying. I had notes from the dying router so the setup on this one went very smooth. All I had to do was configure it and reset my modem and I am up and running. It probably took 10 mins.

Very disappointed......
Pros: Revolutionary Design. Easy to install, Light weight
Cons: Too hard to setup again when losing communication between router and cable modem due to blackout. Must have high network knowledge to reestablish communication between two devices. Charging-oriented tech support regardless of validity of one year factory warranty.
Other Thoughts: I have been using this over 10 months and had no problem. Recently, it lost communication with cable modem and it does very often. I did basic trouble shooting by unpluggin power of two devices and plug them again. It did not work at all, so I called tech support to get help. I followed their instruction but still did not get it done. They said they could connect my computer by remote access but would be charged. I was upset but did not have any choises so I said, "Go adead.". The first tech representative spent four hours but did not make it work and she hung up the phone and never called me back. What a service! I called the Linksys again and a male representative made it work eventually. Right next day, the router lost connection again and I called the company to reguest warranty service. They said you have download a software program to be approved for warranty and also it would be charged seperatedly. It was completely non sense to me. If you can, consider your purchase seriously

Disappointed...and...unsatisfied
Pros: Good Appreance, Light weight, Revolutionary design
Cons: Too hard to setup router once you lose communication between modem and router due to blackout. Restoring default factory setup does not fix router comunication issue. Required high network knowledge to solve router issues, Charging-oriented technical support regardless of one year factory warranty.
Other Thoughts: I bought this router about 10 months ago. I have been using this without any problem. Recently, it started not to communicate with cable modem. I tried to reset modem and router with unplugging two devices and I did this procesure over and over but it never worked. Therefore, I called tech support to get warranty service. A first representative made me spend over 3 hours and hung up the phone. She never called me back. I called Linksys tech support again and got help from a male representative and the machine started communicating with the cable modem. I was glad but he charged $9.99 for the help. Regardless of validity of one year warranty, he said they have to charge that. If you can, buy older model the sky blue and black color with two antennas at the back. I should have bought the older model, but the new one just came out at the moment of purchase. I hope my experience help you to choose your next router.

Great Bang for Buck
Pros: *Highly configurable, you can setup a very secure home wireless network with this router (considering this is a LOW END router for HOME USE).
*Very strong wireless signal; I Thought it'd be meh because of the built in antennas but i was wrong! I haven't had any signal losses that caused disconnects. I use a Linksys Wireless-G PCI card in my computer, and the two connect almost instantaneously.
*Easy to setup even for the average computer user, although if you know a bit more about computers you can do more with this router.
Cons: *The "Wi-Fi Protected Setup" or whatever was rather annoying, but really wasn't a big deal.
Other Thoughts: *Make sure you change the default admin password on this router, as well as enable WPA2 in wireless security! Otherwise the kid across the street can get your router model and find out the default password on the internet and mess with your network :>

Great for the price
Pros: Cheap, Easy setup, good range.
Cons: The only small con is once every ~6 hours you lose wireless for about a minute, nothing too big.
Other Thoughts: Great router, will look at Linksys for any future products.

Good wireless router
Pros: After 10 days it's still working fine. I never need a power switch because I leave it on 24/7. Compare to my friend's WRT54GS (the one with 2 antennas), this one is not only cheaper but also better in connection (no connection drop so far, while my friend's one drops frequently). Although both models are from Linksys, I believe this model is better in various aspects.
Cons: The setup guide only shows one scenario for setup a new wireless router. It misses one scenario that user is using one router and now wants to replace that with the new one.

Works Great
Pros: I own two of these. One at my apartment, one at my parent's place. The router works great. Easy to set up, fast, and has an intuitive GUI.
Cons: Well..It's not a Gigabit...
Other Thoughts: I am not a huge fan of the WPS, but you can choose not to use it

Was skeptical
Pros: EASY. does the job NO PROBLEM
Cons: none...well MAYBE the lack of an on/off switch, but it takes the same effort to unplug
Other Thoughts: I purchased this router before reading all the reviews. After reading them i was nervous. Dropped this and low range that. Forget all that. this thing works great! easy set up, good range, nothing wrong! If you are looking for a decent router that is slim and sleek and does the job...this is it.

Great Product!
Pros: Great Price! MAC Filtering is a plus. Upgraded from the old WRT54G (also had MAC Filtering) and didn't notice a difference. I thought I might encounter signal degradation because of the built-in antennas, but none at all.
Cons: None.

Works great with DD-WRT
Pros: I bought this to use as a wireless extender/bridge. Using DD-WRT, I now have it set in my room where it is hardwired to my PC, 360, and Dish HD receiver. It gets the signal from my main WRT54GS and works as an extender/bridge. I am also able to connect wifi devices as well, so it boosts the range for my PSP and iPod.
Cons: DD-WRT set up will *NOT* work under Windows 7 or Windows Vista. If you use either of these operating systems and do not have another computer with XP, do not buy this and intend to run DD-WRT. Buy the WRT54GL in that case.
Other Thoughts: I had another computer to setup with XP, and I noticed I could only flash with XP after purchase. I decided to save the $20 over the WRT54GL, because I only need DD-WRT micro for my purposes and not full DD-WRT standard. Overall, purchasing this instead of a Microsoft 360 wireless adapter and a PC wireless adapter saves me about $80 upwards.

Another Great Product by Linksys
Pros: I worked with Cisco Equipment on a daily basis. I think that they design their product very well including the Linksys equipment. I understand if people have issues with installation. If you have problems simply call the neighbor kid that knows a little bit about computers to help. I'm replacing my 6-year old Linksys router because I needed a new toy. I get great signal strength and it was very easy to configure if you have done one before.
Cons: Don't use the software that comes with Router. Configure it yourself. The software is terrible. I tried the LELA software that comes with it and that is a piece of junk too. Nice GUI, but it's slow and isn't worth installing.
I upgraded to the latest firmware version. It was a little tricky. Make sure if you do this that no wirless clients are connect. When upgrading the page times out when the upgrade is complete. It's not until you power cycle the router when the new version is on it. I never I this problem before with firmware.
Other Thoughts: Yeah the product had some minor issues but that's technology for you. It runs great and I haven't had any disconnects like I had with my old router.

Finally got it working..some issues
Pros: Was fast to set up the first time. My wireless XP devices all connected quick and nice.
Cons: Problems started later...my wireless or wired Vista 64 bit computer connection was very flaky. Most of the times it would just not work or get an IP address from the router. Very frustrating. I spent time with Linksys support staff and nothing worked. What this did help with was understanding my new Linksys router a little better. Initially I also thought the problem might be with Comcast. There were a lot of postings talking about them registering MACs and not letting more than one MAC register to. Finally I concluded that this was not the case. I think there might be specific issues with Vista 64 bit (mabye 32 also??) OR something that may have been causing this problem. Finally, I assigned a static IP address 192.168.1.110 (a few numbers offset from where the router starts assigning IPs which is 192.168.1.100) and this helped fix the problem. But it took me a whole day to get this working. My XP computers worked just fine and I didn't have to assign static IPs for them
Other Thoughts: Initially I gave this a rating of 1 egg yesterday since I was so frustrated. However, now that I have it going I decided to raise the eggs to 3. The connection strength itself is strong and hasn't dropped now for a few hours. Knock on Wood...:)

This product does not work
Pros: Was easy to set up the first time and worked flawlessly for about an hour
Cons: After an hour my wired connection would no longer work. The wireless still worked fine. Customer Support at Linksys was unable to help me. I am fed up and have wasted my money. Do not buy this product. This has been a nightmare and a really bad experience.

Wireless Network (And How)
Pros: I consider my knowledge of computers and software to be a better than average (I work with them everyday, and I've been inside a PC or two). When it came to setting up and administering my very own Wireless Network, I was a little nervous. I'd never tried anything like this before.
I read several reviews, and this seemed to be a pretty good litle product for what I needed (Internet Access Point for 2 PCs and an occasional laptop). Against several recommendations, (I didn't upgrade the fimware, nor did I download the DD-WRT that many people have talked about) I used the CD.
!!BAMM!! 5 Minutes, and my Network was alive and well. My niece could get a wireless signal on her IPOD nearly 100' away. My daughter, (40'+ away, with 5 walls in between) and I were both surfing the internet without interruption.
I must admit though, I live on 6 Acres with no other wireless signals about, so I'm sure this is a benefit some may not enjoy.
Cons: I only have one complaint here. The Unit has no Power Switch. I like to turn my equipment off at night when I go to bed.
Other Thoughts: I wish I would have set up my network earlier.
LELA looks pretty cool, but I haven't had to use her yet, but the Graphical Representation of my network is pretty awesome.
I really do Love this Router. Setup was painless, and any reservations I had, from the many reviews I read, are gone. If this thing flops on me, or I find issues in the future, I will be back with an update. But no issues so far.

great buy
Pros: i had a belkin before i bought this one and i used to drop connection like crazy! i was not able to play online (ps3) for more than 10 minutes at a time without getting dropped. at first i thought it was my service provider, but i saw this deal and decided to go for it due to the fact that it was less expensive than anywhere else so i went for it. got it up in running in less than 10 minutes, turns out it was not my service provider. no dropped coonections, pings reply consistently (not the case with the belkin, timed out), and have been loving it since. highly recommend it.
Cons: no thus far

Great Router
Pros: Great router for the price. Picked this router up since DD-WRT now supports this router. Flashed it as soon as I got it with the micro-plus version of DD-WRT. Works great now. I can boost my tw-power to give better signal for my wireless devices, setup QOS, and so much more. Be sure to follow the instructions on the page exact. For me to get tftp to connect to the router I had to power cycle it and start a endless ping. Once I saw the first ping reply, I would hit start to begin flashing the firmware. Definitely a great router if you want to load DD-WRT. Just be aware since this only has 2mb VRAM, you can only load the micro version of DD-WRT. Which for me has everything I could ever ask for.
Cons: None at all. Great price, great item, fast shipping as always. Love Newegg!!!

So far, so good - good cheap router
Pros: Very easy setup, energy star, sleek design, inexpensive
Cons: No switch for wireless - I plan to set up both wired and wireless connections; would've liked to turn off wireless when not needed; perhaps there's a software option to do this, but I haven't found it yet.
Other Thoughts: Prompt, free shipping from NewEgg! But an awful lot of padding material was used - perhaps there wasn't a good fit for the dimensions of the router's box.

Lynksys tech support is horrible
Pros: I came home one day to my router not working. I tried connecting to it with 2 laptops (a brand new HP pavilion , and a 4 year old Toshiba) and a 3 year old HP pavilion desktop. All of them solid machines. 3 wired connections and 2 wireless connections all failed while all the nic cards could connect to the Internet via the cable modem
It took me 2 hours to get an RMA from them.
Cons: Here are some of the requests I got from tech support
Linksys rep. (19652): Okay. Have you tried assigning a static IP address on the computer connected to the router and forcing the card to 10 half duplex? [04:40:27 PM]
Yeah... I do that ALL the time.
Linksys rep. (19652): What are the LED lights that lit up on the router now/ [04:53:45 PM] Me: far left and far right [04:53:51 PM] Linksys rep. (19652): Can you tell me the exact LED? [04:55:10 PM]
The ones on the far right and the far left?
Linksys rep. (19652): Do you have an extra LAN card to connect the router? [04:52:48 PM]
Right! Testing three nic cards that can connect to the internet but not to the router is not enough. Testing one more will do the trick!!! Geek please.
Other Thoughts: In my opinion...if my brother, father and any other non tech savvy person for that matter would not be able to meet the requirements place on me to get a replacement. It is extended warranties from here on out.
In my opinion... AVOID Linksys at all costs if you need to will need a replacement. They work great when the work. IF it breaks, don't bother calling tech support unless you are broke. Buy a new one. It is my opinion that Linksys tech support is worthless.

Excellent Router!
Pros: Finally, I don't have to reboot my router 3 times a day. Setup is a breeze. I have it setup in the basement of my home by my pc. My wife get's great signal strength from her laptop in the our 2nd story master bedroom.
Cons: Linksys Advisor is always in my top 5 of memory usage. Ended up disabling. It is a good tool for novices, though.
Other Thoughts: Newegg is awesome

Affordable and Practical
Pros: I purchased the WRT54G2 to use at a friend’s house that did not have WiFi. The size is great, the black color does not shout “I’m over here” like my 5 other Linksys blue WiFi devices. Easy conversion to a small copy or DD-WRT (dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic). I am surprised at the range without the external antennas. Overall I would suggest this item for use by non-tech savvy households or for a travel router, a backup, or even someone that just wanted to run the basic router functions. I would purchase another one if I needed a multiple port wireless client or bridge. I also like the fact that it has 16MB of ram.
Cons: The only thing I would like to see is more Flash memory, with 2MB it limits the firmware options that I have with the 4MB Flash of my WRT54GL.
Other Thoughts: I would purchase another one for my use or for my clients with confidence.

Great beginner Wi-Router
Pros: Very easy to setup, just like all linksys products. Would recommend to first timers.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: Comes with software to step you through each process, but if you know what your doing, you can ignore the install cd first stuff and hook it right up and get going.
