Rating + 5 Great print server

Pros: This print server is great! The setup was very easy, and it found both of my printers (Brother laser and even an HP Photoprinter)! I haven't tried to print to the photoprinter, but the print server found it!

I made sure it had the latest firmware, and then had to download the drivers from the printer mfg's manually and voila.

I actually set up the printers on my Windows 2003 server and using that as the 'print server' so that everybody can print to the printer but not have to set it up manually on my families pc's.

Cons: None that i can see.

Other Thoughts: You can either mount it or stand it up vertically. That's a nice feature so that you can mount it on the side of a desk where it wont be seen.

Rating + 4 Good little Server

Pros: Easy to setup, 4 usb ports, wirless connectivity and bridging to ethernet port a nice plus.

Cons: limited all in one printer support, nothing like having a usb cable hooked directly to your all in 1 printer.

Other Thoughts: Watch out, connecting to this device with jumbo frames enabled over a gigabit network will cause it to lock up, even if your wired gigabit pc is connecting to it through a router wirelessly.

Rating + 3 Not for 64 bit systems

Pros: If you're not using a 64 bit operating system, it works okay.

Cons: Software that comes with it isn't compatible with either Vista or Seven 64 bit operating system.

Other Thoughts: I bought this before I upgraded (?) to Vista 64 bit. It worked fine with my Epson R380 & Canon i9900. After installing Vista 64 bit, no such luck, and the workaround suggested in their FAQ's hasn't worked for me. Windows Seven 64 bit hasn't fixed the problem, either, & the last time I looked on their website, the driver software was unchanged.

Pros: Easy setup for printing.

Cons: Per Dlink, limited list as to the compatible scanners that will work with it.

Other Thoughts: This should really be posted prior to purchase to reframe from wasting our time.

Rating + 5 Works For Me

Pros: Quick and easy setup, nice features for the price.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on the wireless end since mine is hardwired. Works great with my WinXP Home, Pro, and Win7 Pro 64-bit PC's. Everyone can print fine. With my Epson R1900, the status monitor is useless (but that's to be expected with a print server and not a con, just a fact).

Rating + 5 Diggin' it!

Pros: 2 usb ports supporting 2 devices
Web interface is rather straight forward

Cons: Doesn't make coffee in the morning

Other Thoughts: Only hiccup seems to be the setup process not always seeing that a driver had been installed previously on the pc. Also, if I point the setup to a local folder containing the proper driver, (I had copied over earlier) It doesn't actually find the driver...either throw in the orig CD or d/l the drivers from the manuf website and install them..then install via dlink.

Got this so I didn't have to leave my pc on all nite, sharing these printers. (daughter in college, pulling all niters studying...well...so she says.)

Anyway, works with;
Cannon i9900
Brother MFC 7420 (no scanning on this one tho, as I expected)

Previous reviewers tips are very helpful...Thanks guys!

Rating + 4 Good choice so far

Pros: UPnP discovery, wireless G with support for WPA2, scanning support (check the compatibility list on D-Link's web site)

Cons: Initial set-up marred by constant network drops - solution below.

Other Thoughts: So far my only complaint is how this thing apparently deals with having a wired and wireless network connection. Mine came out of the box with firmware revision 1.21.

Using a wired connection to configure the radio to connect wirelessly went fine. However, once it rebooted, the print server couldn't hold a network connection of any sort. I figured it should fall back on the wired connection if the wireless dropped, but that's apparently not how it works.

So, in my experience, if you want to connect this to your wireless network, you have to connect it to your wired network, configure it to connect wirelessly, and finally, when you reboot it, you must disconnect the wire.

It appears to be able to hold either a WPA or WPA2 connection to my Linksys WRT-54G without issue now.

For those who care, I'm running DD-WRT v23 sp2 micro on the router. It's running both AES and TKIP algorithms, so I'm not sure which the print server is using.

Rating + 1 Terrible product

Pros: None

Cons: I have several D Link products, including a previous version of their print server which I was very happy with. This print server is one of the of the weakest products I have ever used. Documentation was terrible, tech support was worse. The web interface to acess the print server was tempermental and had the attempt to acess a dozen times before it loaded. Sending files takes forever - no buffer to speak of - and then larger documents hang. A total waste of money.

Rating + 4 Wireless, use WPA2-PSK(AES)

Pros: This unit works great with firmware 1.24 and either wired or wireless with WPA2-PSK(AES). I have HP Photosmart C5550 (scanning supported by DPR-1260) and Canon imageCLASS MF3240 (scanning not supported by DPR-1260). Quite happy with the unit once it is working properly.

Cons: Do not use WPA-PSK as DPR-1260 will keep on dropping the wireless connections.

Rating + 4 Works with unsupported

Pros: Works with stuff not explicitly supported: Vista Business SP2, Epson R260, Samsung ML-2010. IMPORTANT to upgrade DPR-1260 to latest firmware, install latest printer drivers before configuring. Despite others' experience, no problems with XP Pro SP3, WPA2 TPIK, DHCP.

Cons: Can't get status return: Low Ink, out of paper, etc

Other Thoughts: Didn't call D-Link tech spt or Epson tech spt.

Rating + 4 I'm a happy camper now

Pros: 4 USB ports. Small footprint. Reasonable price on NewEgg. NewEgg delivery. Very easy setup on other PCs once you get it working -- but see Cons. Works with my older Epson Stylus Photo R200.

Cons: Initial setup over ethernet was okay, but wireless setup was a major PITA! The Quick Install Guide and the User Manual, while coherent, skip some basic info. Don't assume as I did that the device will autonegotiate to plain old 802.11G from Dlink's Rangebooster G.

Other Thoughts: Here are the steps that it took to get mine working (thanx 2 'artdecko' in Dlink's DPR-1260 forum):
1. Flash the device with latest firmware (v1.24).
2. Reset to factory defaults; should retain firmware update.
3. Disconnect device power, ethernet. Reconnect power. Reattach direct ethernet.
4. Configure Networking Settings under Setup tab. Select static address, enter fixed IP to which assigned (in router), configure gateway IP (from router), save.
5. Configure Wireless Settings under Setup tab. Wireless on, manually enter SSID; select encryption type & add key, select Infrastructure (for my network, maybe not yours) & SuperG mode DISABLED.
6. Reboot. Disconnect direct ethernet. Recycle router, then recycle the DPR-1260. DLink should now be wireless & recognized on network.
7. Print drivers were already configured from previous install attempt; your's may not be. Time to install, configure now.
8. Wireless printing should work thru File/Print menu or Print icon.

Rating + 5 How to make an HP 1018 work with a DPR-1260

Pros: - Really easy to install compatible printers. Installing a 10 year old Deskjet 895cxe was completely effortless.
- User interface is quite good.

Cons: - Installing the HP 1018 printer proved rather challenging and I was unable to find any procedures for making it work. I figured out how to make it all work and have posted the installation procedure below. The results were confirmed by successful installation on 3 current Lenovo laptops.
- Save yourself a headache and just access your print server by typing "dlink-XXXXXX" into the url bar of your browser, where "XXXXXX" is the last 6 characters of the MAC address of the DPR-1260 print server (as noted in the instructions for a Windows 2000 install).
- I don't have an all-in-one printer, so I couldn't try that part out :(

Other Thoughts: Here's how I got the HP 1018 printer to work with the DPR-1260 in Windows XP.
0 - Disconnect the HP 1018 from your computer, if it is attached.
1 - Remove all HP 1018 installations in "Printers and Faxes" in the control panel.
2 - Download and install the latest firmware for the DPR-1260.
3 - Downloadl the " HP LaserJet Host Based Print Driver Package" for the HP 1018 from the HP website. Extract the file and allow the *.exe file to install the new drivers.
4 - Plug the USB cable for the HP 1018 directly into the USB port of your computer and allow Windows to install it automatically. When this is done, print a test page (for good measure). After a successful test page, disconnect the printer's USB cable from your computer and remove the newly installed HP 1018 from "Printers and Faxes".
5 - Install the HP 1018 by the directions supplied with the DPR-1260. Print a test page to make sure it all worked.
6 - Repeat procedure for each computer that uses the HP 1018 printer.

Rating + 1 Severely dissapointed

Pros: I am unable to list any...could never get this product to work as intended.

Cons: I bought this print server for two features: First, it had my printer (an older HP Photosmart 7350) listed as compatible. Second, it also has a range booster feature, which would definitely be handy in my new home. Sadly, I wasn't able to get either feature working.

The print server kept getting hung up on the installation. After adjusting the uPNP feature on my desktop (which D-Link's instructions were quite thorough on), I was ready to install the printer drivers to the DPR-1260. Unfortunately, it kept insiting it could not locate the drivers on my install CD. I also downloaded a new set of drivers from HP, unpacked them, and again wasn't able to install them. After this, I tried contacting D-Link's foreign-based tech support and referred back to HP for driver problems. I don't believe the problem is on HP's end - the 7350 is several years old and the printer works fine with either the new or old drivers

The server also kept dropping offline when used as a range booster

Other Thoughts: I admit, I had reservations about buying another D-Link product after I had a D-Link wireless router fail after approximately 7 months back in '06 or so. But I chalked it up to a fluke and decided to give them another try since this print server seemed to have everythng I needed. Between lazy tech support and a product that cannot recognize printer drivers that it specifically lists as supporting, I am finished with wasting my money on D-Link products.

If I could rate this product any lower than 1 egg, I would. This has been my first and only RMA request to Newegg after years of buying computer accessories from them. I am hoping the RMA experience goes smoothly and I will gladly continue shopping at Newegg.

Rating + 4 Update on 8/18/2009 review

Pros: It prints fine with the HP 1320 LJ.
It does recognize the Epson RX500 All-in-One as a scanner in the HTML interface, but...

Cons: It is buggy scanning from the PC with the Epson RX500 and will not work when trying to do a scan with Java Applet inside I.E. 8 (i.e. trying to scan things to online banking).
(Even with their recommended driver download)
Otherwise this would be perfection...

Other Thoughts: Before I bought this for use with an HP 1320LJ and an Epson RX500, I mistakingly interpreted from D-Links "approved listing" that it worked with Epson RX500's.

Rating + 5 Great Product, Perfect for my small business

Pros: Small and compact design. Product comes with a vertical plastic stand and wall mounting hardware. Installation was tricky at first, but overall easy. Great wireless signal, all computers in the office have perfect wireless communication with the unit. Even the computers located in the floor above can communicate perfectly. The unit is placed by several other wireless devices and yet the signal strength of the DPR-1260 is unaffected. Wireless printing is pretty fast as well...even when multiple computers are printing. You can attach a total of 4 printer to the print server. Currently the office only uses 2. Overall, this is a great product, it does the job well. All 16 computers in the office can now print effortlessly over the wireless connection.

Cons: Not really any cons to this product. The only thing I can complain about is that the users' manual is not very clear and sometimes confusing. Its not over the top terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Other Thoughts: I have read a few complaints about this product and I think I can give some advise for those having difficulty.

First I recommend that you read through installation part of the users' manual (found on supplied CD) before you attempt installation. Please keep in mind that an ethernet connection is REQUIRED before you can use the wireless feature.

1.) Connect printer and ethernet cable to DPR-1260 before powering on unit. After hardware is connected, power on DPR-1260.
2.) Open a web browser and type in http://dlink-xxxxxx where the X's is the last 6 digits of the MAC ID, more details in users' manual.
3.) Follow users' Manual to setup DPR-1260 for the first time, do not install printer yet!
4.) Install printer drivers on all computers that will be using the print server.
5.) Follow the printer install wizard on the http://dlink-xxxxxx user interface.
6.) Download and install executable, click "Run." make sure you have administrator privileges! Or else you might encounter pr

Pros: NONE. Defective out of BOX

Cons: Sat on phone with D-Link tech support for 2 + hours and got no where.
Had to set up static IP on PC and connect directly to Print server.
Could NOT ping print server even with static IP.
DLINK print server does not work properly. Does not pull DHCP nor does the built in web server come up.

Pros: Wireless with a Verizon Westell multiport DSL modem actually works w/ an HP 1320 and an Epson RX500 as per the setup instructions. It worked the first time thru setup.

Cons: So far none with this one.

Other Thoughts: Instructions booklet reads to imply that you need to disable UPnP in WinXP, but you actually need to ENABLE UPnP while in "My Network Places" to see the device in My Network Places.

Rating + 5 Does exactly what it advertises.

Pros: Easy to set up, large range increase, FOUR USB printer support (seriously, where are you going to find this for this kind of price?)

Cons: Since the automated installer requires that some sort of preexisting printer driver be installed, it can be a bit tricky to actually install the printer at times, depending on your printer manufacturer.

Still, everything is working perfectly so I've no complaints about that!

Pros: Works fine if you dont use WPA2

Cons: Had to reset immediatley during set up, must have had a static IP??? Doesn't work properly with WPA2 security - print Qs just hang. I use it also as a switch for my desktop and it drops max size packets. I had to lower MTU down to 1450 to get it to work.

Rating + 2 Doesn't work with jumbo frames & poor support

Pros: Can print or scan with any computer on your network as long as you are not using jumbo frames.

Cons: *The DPR-1260 does not work with jumbo frames. If you have a network storage device, this becomes an issue. I have a D-Link DNS323 network storage device that I use jumbo frames for faster transfers but with that enabled I cannot get to the DPR-1260 to scan or print. Called tech support and they did not have a clue.

* Emailed tech support five days ago with no response.

* Tech support must be in another country as it was very hard to understand who I was speaking with.

Other Thoughts: A company should be able to support their products and keep customers happy with good customer service. Every company can offer the same products these days, it's how they treat customers that should set them apart.

Rating + 4 Good price, quick/easy install

Pros: Everything you need to know to install this product on Win2K or WinXP is in the book and/or in the software loaded on the device. No mention of Vista or Win7 - though setup through Win7 was brain-dead simple.

Accessing the device very easy. The booklet says that you need to use a CAT5 connection during initial install - that is, to configure the wireless (that makes sense). What they don't tell you is that once you have it talking wirelessly, you really need to disconnect the CAT5 - the communication between the device and your computer get's really bogged down.

Wireless set up was simple and direct. Printer setup was easy ... once I disconnected the CAT5.

Device administration is through a browser - pick one. I tried both Firefox 3.0.11 and IE 8 - both worked easily.

Once plugged into the USB port, printer recognition was automatic.

Cons: Changing any of the administration and/or device configuration items requires a device reboot. The reboot process flashes a 30 second timer on your browser window. BUT, you don't have to do the reboot process for every change. Make all your changes, then reboot once.

Other Thoughts: I bought this on the basis of my experience with other D-Link products. I have a 10/100 switch that is something like 5 or 8 years old. It's like Ol' Faithful - never fails and is, in fact, still in service today. I hope this device performs as well.

Pros: I rate this print server with 5 stars, however I rate Newegg's customer service a 1. Not being able to drop ship an item is utter and complete garbage. - And the customer service rep wasn't exactly helpful, all I got was a bunch of policy information, and I wasn't even directed to My Account to add the drop address to one of my Newegg addresses.

Rating + 1 Last D-Link Product I'll Ever Purchase

Pros: Small footprint, easy to setup.

Cons: Doesn't actually work with all the printers they claim work. Technical Support is a JOKE. Getting an e-mail reply is difficult (5 e-mails in), calling them on the phone is pointless. It would help if SOMEONE in the tech support department understood the English language. It would be REALLY nice if they had some understanding of the product. "Reinstalling the WindowsXP drivers" won't help the "Status" the unit is reporting. Yet that is the only answer I can get. Trying to use any sort of technical term with these ignorant fools is just a joke. What my router has to do with this product reporting the printer as offline is beyond me. I have already removed the few D-Link products on our network, and will NEVER touch this company again.

Other Thoughts: I am A++ certified and know what I'm doing. If I can't get this pile of junk to correctly work, nobody will. It makes me SOO happy to have to dumb myself down to work with "technical support".

Rating + 3 unfinished business?

Pros: * great reception.
* displays all nearby networks and their channels
* smallish
* four USB ports, various options for connecting to printers (TCP/IP, LPD).
* works great with WPA2
* firmware upgrades

Cons: * can't do WPA (see other thoughts) although it's documented as capable
* Web interface works but is really slow at times. When loading the "setup" page, for example, if you're using a Mac, the page loads for about 5 minutes (while apparently querying G o d about the reason for its existence) before stating plainly that your operating system is not supported, at which point, you can actually begin configuring it. Same goes for Linux. Also, once it's scanned for nearby wifi networks, it sometimes wants to rescan (for a few minutes) when you change pages.

Other Thoughts: Upgraded to newest firmware (1.24) easily.
It took a while to figure out why I was having issues after switching the router from WPA2 into WPA mode -- this printer server can't use WPA, only WPA2. I tested WPA + AES and did not test TKIP (router & dlink) as that was cracked a long time ago. I ended up flashing the Linksys WRT54g2 router with dd-wrt and putting it in WPA2 Personal Mixed mode, which prefers wpa2 but will drop devices to WPA if they can't handle it (like the Xbox 360 -- gg MS).

Three stars because this product is 2-3 years old and still isn't polished.

I ended up returning this because the Canon MF4150 that we bought it for cannot do anything but USB with Macs.

Pros: Working great with an Epson CX5000, 3 desktops, and a laptop.

Cons: The Quick Install Guide doesn't tell you everything.

Other Thoughts: The quick install guide was great for getting the print server onto the network (using the wired connection) and partially working with the printer. I has to experiment with the setup to get it working wirelessly. The printer wasn't working correctly, so I tried disabling the SNMP Status in the printer port properties. That didn't work, so I unchecked the "Enable Advanced Printing Features" box in the Epson properties/Advanced tab. Bingo! It's working like a charm.

Other Thoughts: I read a bunch of reviews and questioned if I should buy this product or not. I heard it wasn't compatible with vista and it just plain didn't work for some people. I had no problems what so ever. I set it up and it works with no problems on vista and xp. Don't let these reviews scare you if you know what you are doing. Pros: Good set of features, though we don't use many of them. Seems to print faster than our previous (802.11b) wireless print server.

Cons: Seems to lose all wireless access once every few weeks, though it recovers in a few seconds when a power cycled.

Scanner feature doesn't work on our Samsung (though I expected that going in).

Other Thoughts: Used to replace an even flakier TrendNET wireless print server, which seemed to have a mind of its own about when it would and would not work.

Cons: Poor support and misleading information on the web site about compatibility.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you check with customer support about compatibility before you purchase. The web site led me to believe that the my HP Photosmart 1215 printer was compatible, however when I checked the manual on the included CD my printer was not listed. I called support for assistance and they seemed annoyed that I was bothering them. I will avoid D-Link products in the future.

Rating + 4 Quick N Easy

Pros: Easy to install and configure...Printer setup was a breeze. I have two printers, HP all in one and a HP laser jet. Both work perfect with the server.

Cons: Not sure why, had to reboot once because it lost connection to my printers. Remember to update the firmware.

Rating + 1 Horrible Product

Pros: Good Concept

Cons: Where to start... I would not recommend this product to anyone. It was flakey at best, when plugged into my D-link 624 router I could not even ping the box, let alone get to the web page for configuration. i constantly had to reboot the box, couldn't get it to reset to factory defaults, wouldn't recognize that there was a printer plugged into it... I work as a network engineer and have configured many home / business networks and this product reminds me of one that would have been released in 2001, not 2008 or 2009. If you choose to purchase this product all i can say is good luck.

Other Thoughts: I have always been a dlink fan, but after this experience i will not purchase their products again. If i could give this product negative eggs i would.

Rating + 4 Installation OK

Pros: Installed into exsiting wireless network very easily. Web-based management page was found by all browsers on network. Installed latter-generation printer from the one listed in the compatilibity list (see Other thoughts).

Cons: Contrary to documentation, the print server is not visible in Network Neighborhood on XP. Print driver installation worked on 2 of 3 XP workstations, but may have been XP configuration issue on third workstation.

Other Thoughts: The third XP installation failed during installation of the printer driver through the DPR-1260 setup wizard. I was able to attach the print server to the third w/s by resetting the Printer Name or IP Address of an existing printer installation (same printer previously attached through networked workstation) to the address of the print server (dlink-xxxxxx_yyyy; xxxxxx is MAC address, yyyy is raw TCP/IP port id (9100-9103)). The printer driver was installed on w/s before trying to install the print server. The fact that the driver installation worked on two of three workstations indicates there may have been something "different" about the configuration of the third workstation. I haven't been able to determine what was "different" about that configuration.

Rating + 5 Nice Router!!

Pros: This router is awesome. My ping rates dropped by around 35%. Very robust menu and options. I love the dual wireless SSID. The 802.11n connection is very fast and the range of the wireless is excellent! I have not had to restart this unit other than to make changes to it. VPN passthrough is great. Very pleased.

Cons: None that I can think of atm.

Pros: Great print server. Works with my Dell 1100 Laser and HP DeskJet 9800 on XP, Vista 32 and 64. Using a couple WD My Books through USB as a NAS. Nice device!

Cons: Have had to restart a couple time in the last 4 months, but not a big thing.

Rating + 4 Works Pretty good

Pros: Works as advertised with most USB Printers.

I have an HP Business Inkjet 2800DT (Duplex printer) and an Epson RX680 photo printer with scanner hooked to it.

A bonus feature was that it also works with my HP 1 Terrabyte Media Vault NAS Storage device. This device is connected via Ethernet, and I just happened to stumble on the fact that plugging it into the RJ45 jack on the unit also let me connect to the device wirelessly to my network. Of course this was after I used the ethernet port to configure the unit.

Cons: The limited choices with scanning. There is MUCH room for improvement here.

I also have a Primera Bravo II CD Publisher (which is also a USB device), which I had attached to it, and the device picked up the printer part of the device, but could not communicate with the robotics... what a shame... that would have been too cool!

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am NOT dissappointed with the device, and the price is reasonable.

Under most circumstances this device will do what it was designed to do.

Pros: It works. Running vista and didn't have to do any special tweaking.

Cons: Had a lot of difficulty setting up. Spent way too long trying to discover it on the network. Router wouldn't see it in the arp table. Finally I just hit the reset button on it and then it came online. Did it come with a default static IP? Common.
It also didn't like WPA2 security and would not see the AP until I changed my router to WPA.

Other Thoughts: I'm just stoked about having a wireless print server.

Rating + 1 Does not work with Mac OS X 10.5

Pros: works GREAT from Windows XP machines. Multifunction support is great and is very easy to work with.

Cons: Does not work with Mac OS X 10.5. Manufacturer said that supported. Receive Unsupported OS when trying to add printer. When I called D-Link tech support they said that they had several issues with all Mac OS X. Best they could tell me was to call Mac and work the issue through them.

No thank you. When I am told that the product will work with my OS, I expect it to work. I will not go through the hassle of contacting Mac to find out that the D-Link product will just simply not work with this OS.

Other Thoughts: When I am told something from a manufacturer, I take them for their word. I now understand that sometimes, they're just trying to push product out the door and will tell you whatever they need to tell you to get a sale.

This is unfortunate because I really liked the ease of use of the interface and the fact that it supported my printer. Now I'll have to find another print server that supports Mac OS X 10.5, but I doubt I'll find one as easy to use as this one.

Rating + 3 Ok so far , has some issues

Pros: Easy setup, UPnP made it easy between my router, OS and print server, had it configured and working in about 15 minutes.Wireless connected to all my pcs

Cons: D-Link tried to jack me for my $20 rebate. saying the sales invoice was not a purchase receipt.

Other Thoughts: Have a HP officejet j5780 connected to it. My XP pcs print every thing to it but for some reason I cant print any adobe PDF files under Win Vista 64 bit to it. will print other things but not PDF's looked everywhere for a solution , cant find it , dont know if its adobe or vista. DLINK was no help. Tech support is basic at best. Keep Supporting XP Pro.

Rating + 3 Be Warned!

Pros: Fast delivery from NewEgg, and good return for the poorly designed product. Thanks NewEgg!

Cons: I bought a wireless PS to eliminate running wires up to my new office. I spend more time & frustration with D-link "tech" support; on hold, disconnects, stupid suggestion, than I would have just running the cable. Every support person starts over, then when they hit a dead end... Hello, hello? disconnected again!

The unit does NOT work with any of the security options listed, and the manual does NOT match the firmware in the device. (BTW, Tech support reads from the same outdated manual as provided).

D-link will never see a penny of my hard earned money again, ever!

Other Thoughts: D-link support could provide good material for standup comics for years!

Rating + 5 So Far So Good!

Pros: Piece of cake to set up in Vista. Plug print server into router with network cable then power on . Open Network and Sharing Center and then view computers and devices. Click on DPR1260:dlink-xxxxxx and the device web page will appear with a list of printers plugged into it. Click on setup and install the printer driver for each printer you want to use. You will need to do this for every computer on the network. Under setup click network settings (DHCP) the default should be fine for most users. Click on wireless settings, choose or enter the wireless SSID name of the network, wireless mode (Infrastructure should be fine for most networks), select Super G without Turbo unless you understand the other modes, and select the security mode and enter the PSK pass phrase which MUST match the mode and phrase of all the other devices on the network. Click save to reboot print server, unplug network cable to go wireless and you're done.

Cons: Instructions in the box were only for Win2K and XP and for someone who does not have a firm grasp of networking I can see how some of the instructions might be somewhat confusing.

Other Thoughts: Usually get all my stuff from Newegg but this was too good of a deal to pass up at Circuit City's going out of business sale.

Rating + 4 Very Good Print Server

Pros: Very easy to setup. No problems connecting my Pixma MP160 for printing. Have had no real connection/printing issues with it thus far.

Cons: Prints a little slow. This is to be expected over a slower connection though (wireless vs. USB). MFD compatibility is EXTREMELY limited. Cannot scan with my Canon. My fault - should have verified MFD compatibility.

Other Thoughts: I run a all RangeBooster G network so I can't vouch for how well it works outside of the D-Link product line. I am also searching for a scanning solution for my Canon at the moment. Will add review with any additional information that I find.

Also, with 4 USB Ports I a feature I would like to see would be NAS support. I realize it is a little bit much, but I would rather have NAS support over the ability to set up an ethernet bridge.

Overall I would recommend this device to anyone who needs/wants to use their Wired printer across a wireless network.

Also be sure to READ THE MANUAL. When I first tried to set it up I kinda did my own thing and it wasn't working. Manual is on the CD and will make your install go 10 times easier.

Pros: None

Cons: Tried for a week to get the thing to "hook up" and never succeeded. Got to be too much trouble new, never mind used, for my taste. Returned to NewEgg and got the Netgear and started right up and ran. This is not the first problems I've had with D-Link but it will be the last.

Other Thoughts: I could go into detail about the problems encountered but I feel I've already devoted too much effort to the machine. Maybe another "techie" can figure it out, not this old schooler.

Rating + 4 Worked great

Pros: Worked right out of the box with two printers that are not on the printer list at the D-Link web site - a Samsung ML-2150 laser and a HP DeskJet F335.

Cons: As stated by others, the only issue is the lack of flash memory in the device for the drivers of connected printers. It would be nice if you could store the drivers on the print server itself, rather than having to supply them each time you install a printer. But, that's a small nit, as you only install each printer once per computer.

Other Thoughts: This is a great device - no more dedicating an entire computer to printer sharing (and having the computer running all the time).

Rating + 2 Kinda Works

Pros: Makes the printers wireless. The "Setup" page lets you download an installer to automatically install the printer (if you have the drivers already installed) for Windows. The server also has a page that will scan an image so you don't have to open any of the printers software or try to get that working.

Cons: Not sure if I got a bad one, but mine consistantly stops working after a few prints. It seems like the pages are sent because the printer acts like it is going to print, then it stops. The printer has worked fine with it and it works fine from a straight hookup. If I do a factory reset it works for a while.

Occasionally, the "Setup" page loads really slow, then it will show every error message that window could possibly have. I've tried it with multiple browsers. Not sure what the problem is.

Other Thoughts: Make sure the printer you're hooking it up to will actually support a print server before you buy it! This was originally bought for a Kodak ESP-3 (may have been an ESP-5). After a couple of hours of it not working together, I finally read somewhere that it just does not support any print servers.

Pros: I bought this device after getting fed up with trying to figure out why fiance's XP Home computer was totally unable to connect to my XP Pro computer (I'm a coder, and not much of a network person). Installation was very simple, and excellent instructions are provided for the less-technically inclined. It fully recognized my Epson R300 and My Brother HL-2040 and both computers can now print to both printers without a hitch.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Rating + 1 Awful Tech Support, Poor Quality!

Pros: None, the thing doesn't even work.

Cons: I called D-Link Tech Support because I couldn't see the print server on my laptop no matter what I did. The foreign guy I talked to was awful, very rude and no help at all. I was actually asking him about things I could try because he had no idea, like firewalls, etc. and he would just cut me off and tell me no that doesn't work. I finally stopped him and asked "what do you want me to do with this since you obviously can't seem to figure out how to make it work?" His response, "it's broken, send it back to where you got it." No problem buddy, it's on it's way!

Other Thoughts: I had no idea D-Link was this bad. I'll never buy another one of their products again. When you outsource your tech support and customer service to people who can barely speak English, you have to figure this will be the result eventually.

Rating + 1 Very low quality product

Pros: I do not know.

Cons: This is the first time I am so angry with a product. The manual claims that it supports WPA-AES wireless security. but whatever I do I cannot make it work. I have wasted numerous time on it. Calling their STUPID tech support, they claim it will work ALSO. but still not working.

How can a company sells a product that the manual does not match the real product? Does this company have a little quality control?

So be aware if you buy this product you have to set your wireless security to a weaker level: TKIP, otherwise, if won't work!!

Tws later I got a letter from DLINK like this:

Dear xx,

Unfortunately from what we have tested we have as well came to the conclusion that for the time being the DPR-1260 print server will only work with WPA-TKIP security. Unfortunately, at this time there are no updates nor an ETA as to if or when an update will be released sorry about the inconvenience.

Rating + 5 All Electronics Should Be This Good

Pros: Setup quick and easy. Plug it in, Hardwire the internet, Update the Firmware (automagically), Load Printer Drivers and you are pretty much ready to go! Redirecting your computer to the DPR-1260 takes just seconds.

Cons: I think that the Scanning Tab should be more robust, maybe use the TWAIN driver on the local machine...

Other Thoughts: If you have an All-In-One, the Scanning portion is not as elegant as it would be if still hardwired and using the OEM software -but it works well. For large scanning chores you could still plug the printer into the PC and use the OEM software, etc. No biggy.

Rating + 3 if you like tinkering, it's great

Pros: Looks pretty when the lights in the room are out. I have three HP prints conected to it and all are on the aproved list of printers. My D-Link Router picked it up as soon as I conected it. Instaltion was easy up to that point. Conecting the printers wasn't all that bad, but took several tries at conecting and rebooting to get all three going. Even with the problems I'm having, it still has good potiential, and I'm going to keep working with it.

Cons: Forget your printer software, at least if you own HP printers. Constent rebooting of the server to keep it up. You might try giving one of those little blue pill, it might help. I am running Vista Ult. on three of my computers, and XP on my laptop, I can not use it on the XP, but that just might be a conflict in the software that I am unable to resolve. I did try contacting tech, about 10 days ago, haven't heard back on that yet. D-Link support has been fairly good in the past. May not have an answer for that one.

Other Thoughts: It might be a pretty good little device, if you have newer printers that are specifically made to run on print servers, but my are all 3 to 5 years old, but still work as good as when they were new. D-Link has never before let me done on their products, and maybe I do need to get newer printers. I'll rewrite this review if and when I get these bugs worked out.

Pros: This Item is excellent. My wife and I each have our own computers and printers and I have a laptop. I received the item yesterday morning. When I got home from work I installed it and within the hour I had all my computer working off the server. It is really great to be able to print from the laptop and not have to unhook the printer from my desktop or e-mail to file to myself and open it on the desktop to print it.

Cons: Nothing. At first I could not install. The directions are a little confusing. As soon as I opened the Web Browser installation the directions said to us MAC address I had no problems, I just had to find the CD for the printer.

Rating + 5 Recent Firmware Adds New Printers Not Listed on QVL

Pros: 4 USB Printer ports!
Very easy to configure.
Supports Super G (108Mbps) Connections
Supports WEP, WPA & WPA 2

*After upgrading to Frimware Version 1.24, this DPR-1260 Print Server detected both the Printer & the Scanner in my All-In-One Epson Stylus RX680 which is NOT listed on the compatible device list on the manufacturer's website.

Cons: It didn't come preconfigured to my network. Where would the fun be in that anyway?!

The security key did not auto-convert to hexidecimal. Not really a con; just an inconvenience.

Other Thoughts: For those of you who get stuck on entering your WEP key, do a search for "ASCI to Hex Converter" and you will be able to enter the Hexidecimal key equivalent to your security key.

I would recommend D-Link wireless devices to newbies for ease of navigation/use as well as advanced users for guaranteed reliability, compatibility and performance. You can count on D-Link to constantly be working on new Firmwares and updates. This is yet another example of why I will ONLY buy D-Link wireless devices.

Rating + 1 Recent problems make it unuseable

Pros: Low price, supports both wired and wireless network connections.

Cons: After a year or more of service, my first DPR-1260 recently began dropping off my home network, then wouldn't appear at all. I replaced it, having had over a year of success with it on my HP 2550 LaserJet printer. The new unit had the same problem, appearing for only about 30 seconds, then dropping off the network again. I took my router's security settings to None, disabled all firewalls, connected with only one computer on the network and hard-wire ethernet connections, but still couldn't get it to appear. D-Link tech support said they couldn't help, because my printer was not supported. I suspect their recent firmware upgrades are causing problems with a lot of these units, and they're looking for reasons not to support them, as the unit won't appear on my home network even without a printer plugged in, and I had over a year of success with the printer/server combo in the past.

Other Thoughts: This model may also have this same problem frequently, and I simply got a second bad unit. Other web posts (at Fixya and other places) complain of the DPR-1260 going "inactive" and having to be powered off and back on to work, which was exactly what mine was doing before its connect time became so short as to be unuseable.

Pros: this thing is VERSATILE 4 usb ports ethernet, 54 b/g and simple interface..from print to output is a few seconds(depending on signal if wireless) not minutes. from an ml2010 to an hp 2415 without a single issue goes trough double security (wpa2-psk AND mac. filtering) without a single issue. wired just as well. updating is easy as pie. list is of supported printer is growing . scans from net with good clarity.
BUT most important it frees up wasted USB ports..

Cons: CHECK THE LIST on mfg. web site NOT ALL printers and scanners are supported some multi functions will not support scanning but printing only..updating firmware is only possible hard wired these are minor quirks

Other Thoughts: YES i own this device purchased a few years ago before i found out about the EGG. some say this does not work with vista YES IT DOES search "dpr1260 vista setup" its a little lenghty but it will work if you folow the directions instructions are also available from d-link i dont know how well the support is never had to call d-link yet HINT HINT..am considering buying another for a friend.

Rating + 4 Great printer server

Pros: Easy to setup, adding printers really easy as long as you have the drivers available, or pre-installed the drivers prior to connecting the print server. And like others have noted before, printers that are not listed may work, just have to give it a try and see.

Cons: Response time to changes in settings or adding a printer could be faster. Every time it had to reboot to change a setting, it took longer to reconnect, and when accessing the menu via IP, it took more time to access the menu than my accessing the menu on my router!

Other Thoughts: It would be recommended to have a little basic knowledge of IP addressing, and it did make it easier to have the drivers pre-installed prioe to connecting to the server. Just my opinion on the whole thing.

Pros: I'm using this box to connct my DirecTV HD/DVR receiver (for OnDemand access) via wireless and it's solid as a rock from first to second floor in the house. Very easy setup via browser. You need to setup by cabling to a PC first, but once you do that you are done. If you've setup a PC on your wireless network before you will have no trouble. A 6' ethernet cable is included.

Cons: None that I've found, works great.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you use WEP with this device or you'll be opening your network to the world. Not difficult to setup.

Rating + 3 Print Server OK?

Pros: I am now connected to both of my printers so the wife's happy for now.

Cons: When I first seen this I thought it would be an easy answer to my remote printer problems. Well it did take care of the problem but not after a lot of time behind the computer and a few notes to Tech support. Definitely not a plug and play deal. Still haven't figured out how to activate my security stuff without losing everything and having to start over.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself a lot of time. First turn off all your security on your router and do not activate the security on the printer server during setup. Also, do a firmware update. Don't use the auto update that is on the Server website because it will tell you your good. Go to D-Link website and retrieve the lastest version. You will find that the update will repair quite a few of the odd problems you might encounter. Still trying to figure out why I have to cycle power on the server every couple of days to get it back on line??? Other than that, have fun...

Rating + 5 Great product

Pros: Great device, saved my HP All-in-One that had a faulty network card. I was able to plug it into this print server and it was up and running in no time. Set-up was relatively painless too as long as you follow the instructions closely.

Rating + 3 Won't buy a DLINK anything again

Pros: Price is reasonable, but never did understand why a print server would cost more than an access point or router.

Works reasonably well. Setup is a straight-forward

Cons: Recognized my Canon MP530 multi-functional as a FAX.

Was shipped by NEWEGG with rev 1.21 firmware. After a good deal of "googling", found that earlier firmware revisions correctly recognized the MP530, but rev 1.21 doesn't. Many people seem to have had this problem, with both Canon and DLINK being less than helpful to their customers.

The firmware upgrade to 1.24 supports the printer, but not for scanning or FAX functions. Will likely not buy another DLINK product again. Had one of their wireless routers not that long ago that was very troublesome.

Other Thoughts: Can't believe there aren't better and less expensive network print servers available for small business and homeowners.

Seems like a market that's not being served very well.

Cons: It now its cheaper

Other Thoughts: This is connected to a DLink 655, 2 computers wired, and one laptop.

Rating + 5 Plug 'n Play

Pros: Plug 'n play, right out of the box. I guess it makes it easier if you have a printer that's on the approved list.

Cons: Some functionality of the printer software is lost due to the fact that it looks like you go through a proprietary D-Link driver. I've only had the unit for a few hours so I still have to play around with it some more.

Other Thoughts: Scanning is a little awkward in that you have to go through the Setup page to get to the Scan page. I'm just glad I could print from anywhere in the house now!

Pros: Simple to setup and use. Recognized my printer Epson Stylus w scanner and Brother 2040 laser printer - though not on the compatibility list. Very easy to use the scan functions.

Cons: Had to update the firmware to scan and save larger pictures at high resolution.

Other Thoughts: Don't use the wireless - though I know it is working

Rating + 4 Nice and easay

Pros: Picked this up at a big box store on sale during the holiday. Setup was straightforward and simple for my 3 XP devices - 2 wired and 1 wireless all thru a Cisco WRT-54G router. Only had one hitch where Zone Alarm nuked the install but that was my fault not DLINK's. And even though my printer is not supported on VISTA, the workaround mentioned in reviews below work just fine. :-)

Cons: Wish DLINK would publish workarounds in the supplied manual. Internet search engines to the rescue.

Other Thoughts: This was my first DLINK product and I would definitely buy DLINK products again. I looked at CISCO/LINKSYS printer servers but for the price you couldn't beat this DLINK one.

Pros: Easy setup, works with my oldish Canon S9000.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I first hooked it up using a cat5 cable to my router and input the wireless & WPA settings. I next removed the cable and was able to access it wirelessly with my D-Link DGL-4300 router. I connected the USB cable from my printer to the print server. I then did the setup for my printer and that's it. I now have access to the printer on my two computers.

Rating + 5 It works!

Pros: Makes any supported printer not only work in a network by itself, but also via wireless network.
My HP Officejet 4355 works well printing and perfectly scanning documents.

Cons: A couple of times the device stop recognizing the printer, but disconnecting it from the wall outlet fixed the problem. This hasn't happen again so far.
Some documents in MS Excel fail to print, but adjusting the paper size even if it was correctly in Letter fixed the problem.

Other Thoughts: I recommend this device, if your printer is listed as supported. If not I would suggest first to call/email D-Link support and ask them if your printer will work, so it's not going to be a waste of money, or time and peace of mind which is worse.

Pros: Epson R800.

1 - XP Pro Laptop

1 - Vista 32 Desktop

1 - Vista 64 Desktop

All wireless, all able to print.

Cons: Had a small glitch when printing from the laptop. Re-booted and it cleared up.

Other Thoughts: For the R800, you need to download the drivers from Epson, DO NOT USE THE INSTALL DISK.

Rating + 5 Great for Small Business

Pros: I have set up a Windows 2003 Server AD network and am sharing this print server via the A/D server. I was able to provision this in the network very simply; get the MAC address, assign it a permanent IP, connected it to the network (!! wireless isn't mandatory !!), connected the printers, and turned it on. Boom.

Cons: Web manager requires IE :(. Tried to configure the box via OSX (FFox) and couldn't get to the secure administration sections. Booo!!!

Other Thoughts: I read about the other servers here at NewEgg and this was the only one that was rated well that offered more than 2 USB connections. This is a great little box.

Pros: Works well with Vista OS. Both 32 and 64 bit versions identify and connecct with miinimal issues. Test page prints without error(s).

Cons: Windows XP Pro SP3 is not supported! After three seperate conversations with D-Link technical support(not) a technician informed me that SP3 is not supported in the D-Link software. When I asked when there would be a SP3 release I was informed that I needed to check the D-Link website for that information. There is not a word about the SP3 issue on the D-Link site that I was able to find.

Other Thoughts: I really wish that manufacturers would stop off-shoring their technical support. In general, the people I spoke with knew less about this product than I did after reading the manual and attempting to get it running on XP. Further, the command of the English language by D-Link technicians is abysmal.
In addition, I posted an email request to verify the lack of SP3 support more than a week in the past - still have not received a response. I stopped purchasing a competitors networking gear because of the poor support - is there a real live network gear manufacturer out there that supports it's product?

Rating + 2 Non-experts beware!

Pros: Nicely packaged, everything required is included. Web-based configuration was easy.

Cons: Unit did NOT work with my Dell 964 printer. The DPR recognized the printer immediately, and the configuraton completed successfully, so I thought I was home free--not so. Tech support offered all the normal inconveniences--long wait, technician with limited English skills--but with an added frustration: for a fee, they offered to help me configure my Dell--no promises, and I'd owe the money whether they were successful or not. I was prepared to accept that, but then it got worse: neither the technician nor the automated system would tell what the fee would be BEFORE I entered my credit card number!

Other Thoughts: Despite what other reviewers have said, if your printer is not on the DPR's list of tested printers--beware! At least Newegg was gratious in allowing me to return the unit. I'll buy again from Newegg, but only after more thorough research on the manufacturers' sites.

Rating + 5 works with pc and mac

Pros: easy to use, detects usb devices automatically, web interface is very easy to use for pc setup. currently have this working with a pc using xp and a mac running 10.5

Cons: the instructions suggest setting up with upnp instead of other options, not hard but just weird if you aren't familiar with upnp devices. no instructions for mac setup, although a quick google search will get you going.

Other Thoughts: bought this for use with a samsung ml-2010 and a kodak 5300 aio. samsung works fine, the kodak does not work. this is a kodak problem, not an issue with the product. i should have done more research to see that kodak does not support network printing at all.

Rating + 3 Review 3 Month Update

Pros: It works. Had it installed on a Lexmark X8350 all in one and an HP Photosmart P1000 and they both worked great except no scanning on the Lexmark but it's not on the tested list anyway.

Cons: Stopped working 3 months later, just disappeard off my network. Called D-Link tech support and they were great except for...... We determined that the product had become defective and I was given a case number. The retailer that it was purchased from (not the Egg, got it with a gift cert.) will not exchange it since it is over their exchange time limit. But the rep at D-Link said they would..... NOT.

Other Thoughts: D-Link's RMA procedure is the world's worst! If you call you need to leave a voice mail with your case number, phone number, etc.. I did it, waited two weeks for a call back with an RMA approval and nothing. Did it again a week ago, still nothing. Sent an email to tech support three days ago, nothing. Last D-Link product I will ever purchase and will recommend Linksys mostly to all of my customers.

Pros: The PS setup was simple and thew wireless works well even with a secure connection. works well with my simple laser jet printer

Cons: Did not work well with my canon multi-function printer so I kept that directly connected.

Other Thoughts: I know that using a multi function printer with a print server can be difficult so I was not surprised it did not work. I would suggest buying a milti function printer that supports a wireless or Ethernet connection and skip the hassle.

Rating + 5 Best print server

Pros: I used other networking print servers in the past. I always had some difficulties in setup as there are no perfect tools in existence. This time was the easiest. Even though on Vista 64 computer Samsung printer driver was not automatically setup by DLink utility, but I setup this printer manually. The problem was caused by Samsung driver difficulty with Vista - nothing to do with D-Link utility.

Cons: No problems

Other Thoughts: Many people often blame the product after they had difficulty installing it or using it, although in computers the result depends on many other ingredients which fail - in most of my failures OS (Vista) is to blame.
D-Link is the best print server in it's hardware and software.

Rating + 2 DO NOT BUY!

Pros: Wireless Print Server, 4 Printer Connections (like you will ever use them), Supposed To Be Compatible With HP All In One Photosmarts, SCANS!!!-That is almost impossible to find. The best features for the best price!

Cons: Whenever i print a document, pdf, or website, the printer stalls in the middle or almost done with the document. Called Customer Service after i could not even take it more, and well, i spent 3 days on the phone for nothing. I have use DLINK for more than 5 years, with no problems, this was the first. Their tech. support is the worst i think i have ever talked to in my life. I am going to have to really go off of the reviews from now on buying DLINK products, if i ever do again.

Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks, fast shipping, even with the gas prices, they figure a way to make shipping somewhat affordable. GO NEWEGG!!!
BTW: HP Tech Support Is One Of The Best I Have Ever Delt With.

Rating + 5 Awesome!

Pros: Works with Vista Ultimate (32bit) out of the box. Quick Start guide instructs setup via ethernet, ethernet cable is supplied. Super easy setup with my HP OfficeJet 5610xi (although it's on the compatibility list which is why I choose this product). Wireless setup was easy - I use a Linksys wrt350n

Cons: Nothing that would prevent me from buying this again. I did find that Internet Explorer works best with setup and download of printer setup file. Sometimes DLink would loose internet connection.

Other Thoughts: The quickstart guide for setup says to go to http://dlink-xxxxxx where the (x) is the last 6 digit of the mac address. I could not connect that way. It's actually easier (in Vista) if you go to your Network (double-click), see your new uPNP device (DPR1260:dlink-xxxxxx), right-click and select "go to web page" - then it goes to the device's IP address it obtained from your network. From there on you can hit it by IP.

Pros: Allowed for all the printers to print wirelessly.

Cons: End user had an airport express which did not allow this thing to be configured. We had to run to our office, configure it on a DHCP network, then go back to the end user and set it up. The unit locks up every 30 days or so and must be rebooted.

Rating + 4 Good device, Easy XP setup, Harder in Vista

Pros: Works with both new and old printers, including an HP OfficeJet 6110 (will scan and print) and Samsung 1210 laser. Very easy web-browser based setup (you must connect to network with a cable at first) in XP. Printer installation in XP also easy on client computers (but you need drivers pre-installed, or a driver disc on hand). Scan application from web-browser based utility works as advertised.

Cons: Vista OS client computers require manual installation of printers which could confuse less technical users. Uses only hexadecimal (0-9, A-F) WEP security keys, so users with WEP security may be forced to change router/AP and client computer keys (or use WPA).

Other Thoughts: Useful for home and small business wireless networks where you want to share 1-4 USB printers that are close together. May work well when you have a MFC, with basic scan functionality. If you have one or more Vista machines you want to use with this device, look at the FAQs on DLink's website for setup instructions before you start.

Rating + 3 Doesn't support WPA/WPA2 properly

Pros: If you are running no encryption (BAD) or WEP (just as BAD) you can get this to work with a lot of printers and the LAN will bridge across the wireless just like they tell you.

Cons: Contrary to what D-Link publicly states, support for WPA and WPA2 is not there. Well, the fields are there, and it will connect to a WPA(2) AP...for about 6 seconds, then it dumps for 10 seconds, then connects for 6 seconds, then dumps and on and on it goes. You can never get it to connect properly for long enough to get to the config screens if it's not plugged into your router via ethernet. EVER.

Other Thoughts: D-Link will admit they have problems with this if you sit on their horrendous 3rd world provided tech support line for about 2.5 hours and 3 dropped calls. I know people who have done it. I feel sorry for them and bring them candy. Anyhooo...D-link will ultimately tell you to run no wireless security on your AP (LOL) or drop down to WEP (even more LOL). Silly gooses (sic).

Rating + 1 Poor Performer

Pros: When it works, printers are easy to install.

Cons: I had trouble with this unit right out of the box. Constantly dropped off my network of XP computers after several minutes of up time. Updated firmware, still didn't work. Contacted D-Link customer support 3 times to resolve issue. They focused on everything but the printer server. Updated firmware on my network D-Link router still did not resolve issue. Changed all settings on my router and computers. No change. Finally convinced D-Link the server was defective.

Other Thoughts: Received replacement unit from D-Link. No change. Server sees printers for a minute then drops off network. Network router works great. I'm surprised there is a compatibility issue with the two D-link products. I'm looking elsewhere for a printer server.

Pros: wireless support for AES-TKIP WAS2 OR wired good range 4 ports can scan through wireless or wired

Cons: none really other than wireless is touchy as far as security goes

Other Thoughts: bought this locally was tired of rewiring printers. folks the list of supported primters is a bit short and mostly older printers (within the last 1-2 years. BEFORE YOU BUY goto the d-link website and check if your machine is on the list if it isnt it probly WILL NOT WORK. other wise my samsung 2010 prints like its wired to my usb port almost instant.
