Good at close range
Pros: For about the last nine months it has served me well. At close range, the router performs fairly well. Many secuirity features.
Cons: Everytime you change a setting in the default firmware, it takes forever to load. Doesn't have much range(barely even gets through 3 walls over a 40ft distance. takes a while to realize something is plugged in.
Other Thoughts: Decent buy, was happy with it at $25 shipped

Don't waste your time
Pros: Low price wireless N
Cons: connections are dropped randomly. Some connected PCs will loose wifi connectivity while others will remain connected at the same time. Reconnecting will fix it until it reconnects.
Other Thoughts: Have owned several routers but this has been the worst and it is not even refurbished. Don't waste your money and your time.

Waste of money
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Everything but the price
Other Thoughts: Don't be like me and get tempted to buy this because of the low price. It'll just end up in the trash or cost you more effort to return it. The UI is painfully slow, and the hardware would require a restart every 24 hours minimum. All of my computers would lose the connection at once and the only way to bring it back would be to reboot the thing. Have not had this problem with any other wireless routers. I traded routers with my neighbor as a test to see if I had some interference or if it was due to the location of the router, and he has the same issue while I had no issues using his.

Have to reboot often
Pros: none.
Cons: I have to restart router several times per day. The wireless stops working frequently. The computer says that its connected, but it doesn't work. After power reset it works again for a few hours.
Other Thoughts: Lousy product.

Works with the perfect settings
Pros: Nice size and look, works after tweeking
Cons: Very annoying when it stops working randomly, could be due to my ISP...
Other Thoughts: For this router to work best, you need the perfect settings. My n speeds were only clocking in at 130mbps, not great, then it stopped working totally. I reset and it came back with limited connectivity, it wasn't pulling in a dhcp info...so I had to reset everything as per the customer service guy and it worked fine but only at g speeds, 54 mbps. I called back and he walked me through my encryption and security settings (my weakness)...we set it up for optimal n performance...i didn't know encryption and security had anything to do with n performance...now i'm running at 270 mbps. So moral of the story, call customer service cause a lot of the times, its a specific issue with the settings thats causing only g speeds.

Works Sporadically
Pros: When it works it's fine
Cons: It only works occassionally and requires a reset every other day...if you're lucky
Other Thoughts: Tech support said there is a known issue with the wireless connectivity that the updated firmware corrects. We updated the firmware, and the problem got worse. Now instead of resetting every other day it shuts off every 30 minutes. Second level support couldn't figure it out either. Go with a better brand.

Sucks
Pros: Hmmm, it's a glossy black and that looks nice.
Cons: I have two computer both have wireless N adapters from different manufactures, but neither can connect to router if I put it in wireless N only, so I have to do mixed mode then they will both only connect at 54G. I've updated firmware, same problem as well as when I connect my netbook, so a total of 3 computers on at the same time it craps out and I have to power cycle it usually every few mins so I can get back on the internet. Only paid around $30 for it and don't want to waste more time and money to RMA it, so I am just buying a new wireless N router that is higher end. Most of the reviews seemed good on this which is why I bought it, but wishing I ponied up the extra money and got something good.
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money on this router unless you want a wireless N that only operates at a wireless G speed and disconnects you a lot. I would look for something else instead of buying this router.

nice router for the price
Pros: works just as fast as a wired connection to me. Strong connection throughout my house. Was able to use a netbook, a laptop, a desktop, an ipod touch, and a PS3 all at the same time with this thing.
Cons: Kept getting frustrated when I was dropping connections with certain devices. I finally figured out that I needed to upgrade my firmware...so....update your firmware. But, I'm happy to upgrade from a G router!
Other Thoughts: I don't really see a need to buy a $80 router for what this thing can do.

Works great
Pros: Works great so far. Very easy to set up. Two laptops and one wireless printer work with no glitches. No dropped wireless so far and does not run hot. Great price
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: This replaced my TEW432brp wireless G router which also worked great and it has not let me down. I have it running with 2 older Dells(one with an Trendnet wireless N pc express card) and so far no problems.

Piece of Junk!!!!!
Pros: Works great when it works.
Cons: That being said I am constently having to reset the router as it stops brodcasting. It seems the more I try and do at once the more it I have to reset it. I had a cheap router before but it was a loaner and I NEVER had to reset it. This one probably 10 times or more a week!! Don't BUY!!!
Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money go with a brand that actually works!!!

If you love to drink, this is the router for you!!
Pros: You will drink more every time you use it !! Vodka, wine, beer.. it all works to help calm down after consistently rebooting this router... sick of getting disconnected from your home network? Take another shot and stop the worries!
Cons: I updated the firmware with the latest from the manufacture website. This router gives me issues every single day. About once an hour I get disconnected and have to log back into my Network. I'll reboot several times and will be good for a few hours... then it will happen again. My unit stays cool so it's not a heat issue. I think it's just poor design.
Anyway I honestly think no company makes a decent wireless router.. they all are bad.. but this model is by far the worst one sold.
I emailed Support (found the email address in these reviews) and no response so far.. it's been 2 days now.
Dont think you're getting a good deal.. better take the money and have a great meal at McDonalds with 10 of your best friends !

Got it working!
Pros: cheap... easy to set up... not a lot of options but not really a con considering the price.. Wireless N for 35 bucks... tech support... (not sure how helpful because I ended up solving the problem on my own over night, but they responded within 24 hrs with basic advise to start with... which says A LOT about the company... they at least seem to care, and try to help)
Cons: for about a week I suffered with constant drops in connection etc... Couldn't figure out the problem... Updating firmware helped speed up wireless, but could not for the life of me get a stable connection, especially with my macbook! (see other thoughts for resolution)
Con not related to product: I bought a rosewill before this, ended up spending 12 dollars for return shipping as arrived busted...Should have bought this to begin with!!!
Other Thoughts: I had my router set to WPA2/PSIK encryption. Thinking it would make no difference, I turned security off to try it... IT WORKED!! with no security my wifi speeds were awesome, and router was rock solid!!
sooo, I then set it to WEP.. router still worked great... I then set it to WPA2/AES encryption... router still works fantastic!!!
bottom line is, for some reason WPA2/PSIK does not work for me, but WPA2/AES is plenty secure enough (avoid using WEP)...
I have various OS's installed so maybe that's the problem (XP, Vista 64, windows 7 ultimate 64, and OSX)
(on a side note, I think since this router is working so great, I might actually return it and upgrade to the more expensive dual band gigabit version...) I was scared of buying this because of the mixed reviews, but for the price it is a phenomenal router if it fits your needs.

pretty nice
Pros: If you look below and grab the link for the newer BIOS than you'll be able get on the web sirte it may prove much better.
I replaced the wireless router we had with this one and after a BIOS update and quick configuration it was ready. Since I usd the same SSID and pass phrase the laptop was connected on a reboot and giving good N performance.
Cons: Seems a little bit small and light. Since I have not owned it long I'll withhold and only give it a 4 for now.

Good performance BUT .....
Pros: Cheap, good performance
Cons: Like the other reviewers, changing almost any setting will result in the router reboot, which takes 10-15 secs. Really annoying. But the worst part is you cannot specify a range of ports for virtual server settings. As a result, you can't use this if you're using VoIP phone like Vonage, viatalk. This is the main reason why I give it one star.

Fail Fail Fail
Pros: Setup was nice, a lot of features to play around with, remote management is easy.
Cons: Worked for about 3 months then suddenly would drop all clients wired/wireless. Constantly reset the router several times. After it completely would not assign dhcp or static clients I flashed/updated the firmware and got it to work decent. Still having very low signal and dropping wireless to a wireless n adapter every 10 minutes.
Other Thoughts: Buy a linksys/dlink problem solved.

Yep, upgrade the firmware.
Pros: Works great but enable the n networking... Go into setting to do so.
Cons: No big deal but upgrade the firmware. This is a dealbreaker for some but it's easy.
Other Thoughts: 2 versions of this router. How you can tell is explained on trend nets web site when you go to do firmware.
Mine worked for a few days before wireless went out spuradically but now its up again.

Good Router
Pros: - Easy to Install. - Small which makes it fit in tight spaces. - Reliable - Great Speed on wired or wireless connections.
Cons: - Relatively short WiFi range for a dual-antenna router.
- Will not work with a printer. (Or maybe its says somewhere that it won't support a printer and i'm blind.)
Other Thoughts: When I first hooked it up, the router didn't properly configure the MAC address or so I was told. I called customer service and they knew exactly the problem(too bad it took me 5 minutes to understand the person that was helping me...). Other than thatm the router has worked flawless. Great speed through a wired or wireless connection even with multiple people on the internet.

beware of combos deals
Pros: don"t know, have not hooked it up
Cons: none about the router, just the combo, i got the one with the rosewill 13 dbi intena, the router has no spot fro the intena, and the intenas on the router are not removeable,
Other Thoughts: in there own words, probucts are not garenteed to be combatable in a combo deal!

Kind if a hassle to begin with, but works great now.
Pros: Inexpensive, small, works well nearly all the time. When I first got this router it would stop loading web pages over the wireless link every hour or two. I fiddled with it endlessly, including the tips from the manufacturer in answer to an earlier review. It gradually started going longer and longer between restarts. I contacted tech support at Trendnet by email. They were very nice to deal with, but the only suggestion they had was to upgrade the firmware. I did that and the router has been running for over a week with no problems.
Cons: May need frequent restarts at first. This can be very frustrating, but it worked out. I'm running with default settings. I only changed the name of the net (the SSID) and turned on WPA-AUTO security.
Other Thoughts: The reviews for competitors seemed to show a lot of problems. Despite what happened I think this was a good choice. For this price I think it's quite good. I wanted to wait a while to do a review since I think a review after you've been using something for a period of time is more valuable.

Good, cheap router after one modification
Pros: -Wireless-N speeds -Reliable -Easily configurable as a wired-to-wireless bridge.
Cons: -Not dual-band (knew that when buying it, though) -Does get very warm -Does take a bit of technical knowledge to configure.
Other Thoughts: Bought this router to replace a cheap, $20 Wireless-G router that was starting to have trouble maintaining signal strength. In my opinion it was very easy to set up. Now I have a very fast and secure Wireless-N network that's more reliable than the old wireless router.

Good enough for me
Pros: I had an old Linksys 11/b/g That was adequate for then, but after many reboots and resets for the PC and Router I decided to buy this one. No more problems now and the wireless speed is great. I can't wait to see the speed at the marinas this summer via my external antenna.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Wish I had bought the 10/100/1000 as I could use the faster wire for the network, short on cash.

Good enough G router.
Pros: Easy enough for this average guy to figure out. Haven't noticed any heat issues as a few others have mentioned.
Cons: Will not connect to my new "N" capable laptop when "N only" option is selected in the router options. Connects when " b/g/n " option is selected but as only a "G" router.
Other Thoughts: If I had to do it again, I'd just get a 19.95 "G" router.

Can't use them for our purpose.
Pros: Easy to set up and put into operation. We bought and installed three units to extend our wireless service to other parts of the facility.
Cons: They didn't work! Sent our network into a tail spin creating problems with attaching to the server and printing to the network printer. Had to have a tech look at the system to see what the issue was and discovered the router was fighting the internet service modem for IP addresses and could not be rectified. Had to return all three units and ordered stickily Access Points.
Other Thoughts: Buy Access Points not routers to extend your wireless service. Still waiting for delivery of the access points.

Poor customer support
Pros: Worked well for my computer, but not for every computer in our household.
Got to our place in a good amount of time.
Cons: The CD that comes with the product is an .exe file, meaning that the software cannot be installed on OS X.
Poor customer service.
A stringent warranty.
Other Thoughts: It worked very well on my laptop, but my roommate, for some reason, had painfully slow internet. I spent hours with a customer rep on the phone who I had great difficulty understanding. I told him our problem and almost right off the bat he told me that it was my roommate's computer's problem, not the routers (she has connected to plenty of routers before and to other wireless internet and has worked fine for her).
It was deducted that it was not the router but something on her end even though every other router we've ever had has worked well for her computer and the tech support person dismissed me.
I was busy with college and had no money at the time to send the package back--when I got home for Christmas break, it was too late to return it by a few days. Talk about a waste of money! I wish I could get my money back.

Works well
Pros: The thing sits by the washing machine of all places but it has to. Stable connection so far to the 802.11b/g devices. Haven't tested speed yet with the 802.11n yet, but that will have to wait for return from RMA :( WPA works fine.
Cons: none so far

Piece of Junk
Pros: It worked for about 5 weeks.
Cons: The router died after about 5 weeks of use. It has a very limited range for an N router. Customer service is terrible, both on-line and over the phone.
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an old Netgear G router. The netgear router has been working great for several years. I just wanted something inexpensive for N Wireless. Sure won't be buying Trendnet again.

Solid Bang For Your Buck
Pros: Pretty easy to set up and install. I had a little trouble putting a WPA passcode on it when I first got it, but the outsourced customer service representative helped me through it pretty quickly and painlessly. It's also got a pretty good range. At times I will study in my basement while my router is on the 3rd floor of my house and I still get a pretty good reception. It is also pretty reliable...doesn't crash too often or require a reset so it works out pretty well. In terms of performance I will get about 95Mbps while wired in and 15-20Mbps over wireless from about 12 feet away. Might be able to get more out of it with a little tweaking.
Cons: I've had to reset it (cycle the power supply) maybe 5 times since I got it and I have had it for about 5 months now. All in all that isn't too bad and its not too big of a hassle. I had one previously from Linksys that I would have to reset about once every week and a half.
Other Thoughts: All in all...pretty pleased.

Pros: Works great while it works.
Cons: Bought 2 and both of them work fine for the first couple days, then both start dropping Wi-Fi signals like crazy. Had to constantly power cycle the router to get Wi-Fi back. I thought the problem was on the modem, but the routers are connected to different ISP (AT&T, and Time Warner), and the problem went away as I change to a different router from another company. Called Trendnet's tech support, although the tech tried to help but the problem remains. Both are HW Ver:2.1.
Other Thoughts: We used Trendnet's business line of router in our office and it works great, that's why I thought I try out their economic line of product, it turns out you get what you pay for. Price on this item is cheap, so is the performance.

Download new firmware from Trendnet.
Pros: Nice one with good features and characterstics at the price offered. Range is OK .
Cons: Disconnects frequently with the 1.0 (default) firmware. Try downloading the new firmware from Trendnet. It appears the disconnection problem has been resolved as of now. It has been 1 day since I upgrade my firmware to 2.0. Firmware: V2.00.22 Date: November, 2009.

Don't buy this, WiFi cuts out weekly
Pros: I bought the TRENDnet router since it was cheap and my old $40 router died. It is a small Linux-based box that has decent setup and does routing/firewall without problems.
Cons: About once a week, wireless internet will suddenly stop working until the box is reset. This happened on all of my home computers but not my iPhone. As best as I can tell this had something to do with long-lived connections reactivating after the client is idle for a long time. After two months of getting calls from my wife that "the internet is broken", I decided to just buy a new router. Also, it gets very hot due to the small package and no fan.
Other Thoughts: Recommended only if you wireless internet needs are restricted to occasional iPhone use.

Bottom line; Doesn't Work
Pros: Does it have to work for it to have a "pro?"
Well, I guess it's shiny black in color. I like black. It would be very good for keeping paper from flying away outdoors if you place it on top of them. Walnut smasher? It'd be fun to drop it from a considerable height.
Cons: Everything else.
It doesn't work. In the end the only thing that matters is whether or not the product produces the result it advertises.
The minimum for this product is that you can receive the internet. It doesn't do that for long. I've had the same problems with this product that others giving it one and two stars have. It doesn't stay connected.
Tech support runs through it's checklist and then can't get rid of you fast enough. I swear to doG they are getting paid by the call.
Other Thoughts: I really wanted to like this product. I mean I really tried hard to like it. I had a vested interest in making it work (the wife told me not to buy it).
The router had some good reviews here, the price was downright inexpensive, and I like the idea of buying from a smaller company.
But after four or five (I lost track) calls to tech support and a contentious call to "Customer Service" wasting hours of my time, I'm done.
I wanted to try another one but I'm not spending more money to ship it back to them. Throwing good money after bad. I've done that. And the customer service guy who was supposed to email me didn't.
Not a pleasant experience overall.

Could have done better.
Pros: Clearly faster than my old Netgear WGR614v4 and slight improvement in overall range. Its low cost. Runs cooler than the Netgear.
Cons: Its cheap. Needs to be physically unplugged and reset periodically when it looses WiFi, it literally just stops broadcasting once or twice a week. The status light stops blinking or stays constant "when the router function has failed". Router function fails sometimes, too. Like while I'm typing this review! Has been less than functional with iPhone3Gs, only connects 64bit WEP. All other settings fail (WPA, WPA2, WPA-Auto), could be the phone too. Range is mediocre, "Excellent signal strength" fades at less than 60', looses connectivity at about 150'(laptop and iPhone).
Other Thoughts: When it works, it works good. Well, three attempts later I still am unable to reconnect via WiFi with my iPhone or laptop. Ironic how this is happening now while I'm writing this review. Shortly after purchasing this I received a "nomination" letter from NewEgg for this router. Yeah its cheep in cost and quite popular, but the low reviews speak louder. Don't waste your money on this, it's not worth the headaches.

Works Great
Pros: Fast, Great signal, easy setup, wireless works almost flawless. good security too.
Cons: Gets hot to the touch. not the best but great for the price
Other Thoughts: Trendnet Seems to make quality products. I bought it when it was only $25.00 and i cant find a better N router for the price.

Good Router
Pros: The price is great. It drastically increased the speed of the connection in my dorm room. Plenty of security and other options.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I bought this because the $20 g router one of my roommates brought would constantly drop the connection and was slow. This router was a great buy. Not one of my three roommates has had any connection problems, and we all get great download speed. This was a great buy, especially for an N router.

BEST ROUTER
Pros: Easy install, fast, works

Pros: Decent quality, compact and sleek. Conected via hardwired to modem simply and worked right away.
Cons: had issues connecting wireless even though my system said wireless was connected.
Other Thoughts: After an hour of checking/changing settings I gave up and called Trendnet's Tech line. I was on hold for no more than a few minutes, tech support knew what needed to be done right away and I was up and running via wireless within 10 mins!

TRENDNET ROUTER OK
Pros: LOW PRICE WITH FREE SHIPPING, SHOULD WORK WITH N-CARD UPGRADE IN FUTURE. WORKING WELL.
Cons: THE SIGNAL IS MAYBE A LITTLE WEAK, ON THE THIRD FLOOR, THE ROUTER IS IN THE BASEMENT
Other Thoughts: IT IS RUNNING VERY COOL, NO HEAT ISSUES WITH MINE. IT TOOK A MINUTE TO GET IT SET UP, I HAD TO REBOOT MY MODEM TO GET IT GOING. WE ARE USING THE G SIGNAL FOR NOW, AND WE CAN UPGRADE LATER. I SET THE LEASE FOR A WEEK, AND IT IS NOT KICKING US OFF LINE.

intially excited, now DISAPPOINTED!
Pros: inexpensive, good features
Cons: cheap. i was excited at first, got it running very quickly. then after an hour, the thing started losing connection and only unplugging the power cable had an affect and let it connect again. now i have to let it powercycle every 15-30 minutes. this is really disappointing.
Other Thoughts: i am afraid i wasted my money...

Faulty product
Pros: Its a good leg warmer?
Cons: This thing runs extremely hot! You will hurt yourself with it, seriously. Like everyone else here, I have the same issue with the wireless connection, it just won't stay online. I constantly have to reset to have my wirelesss connection back up and running.
Other Thoughts: I took a chance on this company and won't ever again. Serves me right for leaving Linksys whom I never had any issues with.

Get What You Pay For
Pros: Inexpensive 802.11n router. Prompt response times from TrendNET's support team.
Cons: Questionable reliability.
Other Thoughts: Works great as a simple WAP--decent range and N speed. However, my 2.0R device experienced high packet loss from WAN to LAN as well as random lockups. Tried the latest TrendNET firmware (B16) to no avail. Worked with TrendNET support for a few days until they deemed the hardware defective and suggested return / replacement.

Great Router, even better price
Pros: Great range, easy set up, the wizard makes things a snap for a quick set up but the firmware also allows for you to tweak quite a few things like security settings and what not.
Cons: Every change you make after you hit apply you have to wait 15 sec.
Other Thoughts: Using in big 2 story house, router is upstairs but I get 5 bars even all the way out across the street in the neighbors yard. Newegg is of course great with great shipping, if you are in the market for a Wireless N router look no further, great price for a great router.

Doesn't Work
Pros: Cheap.
Cons: Doesn't work. It provides a connection for a little while, and then it fails. I can't even connect to its management web page over a wired connection. It doesn't feel that hot, so unlike other reviewers I don't know that that's the problem, but it stops working, so is useless.
Other Thoughts: I've got a version 2.1R router, which as of this moment doesn't even show up on the TRENDnet website. Maybe they'll fix whatever problems these have and it will be worth it to purchase a later version.

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Loses connection way too often, sometimes several times a day. Thought it was my card but changing cards revealed the same problem. Changed to my old router and everything was fine. Will think twice before buying Trendnet again.
Other Thoughts: Read other reviews stating same problem before I bought it but took a chance anyway. Will pay more for a better router next time.

Junk and a paper weight now!
Pros: None
Cons: Any device with N wireless capability constantly looses wireless connection. the funny thing is, PCs with G wireless devices work fine on the router. . Product is USELESS.
Other Thoughts: I had to go out of town on a business trip just after buying it and did not get back until it was too late to return this junk to Newegg. I ended up buying a D-Link..again. You get what you buy for!!!

Keeps losing wireless connection
Pros: It was cheap for an "N" router.
Cons: Won't maintain a wireless connection for more than a few hours. Have to reboot every few hours.
Other Thoughts: Seems like most people have this issue, wish I would have known before buying.

Good But..
Pros: Cheapest 300mb/s Wireless N...works well, easy to configure...can use open-wrt firmware
Cons: I was hugely disappointed that the antennas DO NOT detach...Newegg is offering a combo deal with Rosewill 5db gain antennas...but you cant use the new antennas, because trendnet hardwires the antennas on this router. This is Version2 of the router by the way.
Other Thoughts: I would still rate this highly, even though i got burnt to some degree...its not trendnets fault...newegg probably shouldn't offer this combo deal being as though you cant swap the antennas out unless you feel like soldering.

Wireless Connection is Faulty
Pros: The price was good and the form factor is nice and compact. Very light weight.
Cons: The wireless Internet connection is faulty. The connection strength to the router is excellent on my laptop, but the connection just won't go out to the Internet. I would have to reset the router a few times before it reconnects. Once connected, I stay connected for a little less than a 24 hour period, but would get disconnected again. I've set up 5 wireless routers in the past and NEVER had this problem before. It seems that the wireless setting doesn't know how to stay connected or get reconnected to the Internet on it's own. It's real frustrating... AND I even updated the firmware to the latest two days ago! I will have to return this item if I can't figure it out. It's probably defective.

Perfect for Home Users!
Pros: Works well. Simple design. Ordered from NewEgg Sunday afternoon and got it Tuesday morning! NewEgg's prices and free shipping are awesome! I did have an issue that after I set it up it worked perfectly with my MAC but on my Win XP machine the download speeds were 1.5Mbps and upload speeds were 4Mbps! I called TrendNet support and they fixed the problem in < 5 mins. Under the Basic Wireless settings I had Auto Channel selected. She told me to deselect that and manually set it to Ch 6. Also told me to set it to 20MHz and not 20/40MHz. This got it working equally well on the MAC and PC. 15Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds!
Cons: I didn't mind it, but the "Wizard" didn't help set up security settings. That would be nice for basic users. Also couldn't use a pen/pencil to press the reset button... had to find a pin. No biggie.

Limited or No Connectivity!!!
Pros: Good Price
Cons: it seems to drop the internet connection quite frequently on the wired and wireless connections. I have noticed others have had overheating issues not sure if this is the cause of my trouble but I am pretty frustrated with this product so far. Going to upgrade the firmware to see if that helps.

Specs recently changed
Pros: -Decent wireless N-router -Inexpensive -TRENDnet software was easy to navigate and setup -Appears to be regularly supported by manufacturer (recent software update released)
Cons: -Chipset specs different than expected (used to be Atheros now moved to RealTek) -Concerns over heat buildup inside router
Other Thoughts: Based on internet reviews/discussions and newegg reviews, I had concerns over the device overheating. After receiving and looking at the design, I opted to remove the cover completely for the time being and will be modifying the case to improve airflow.
Case is dead simple to disassemble and if you do so, it's very obvious that there is a major design flaw! There are air dams between the vents and the actual heat generating parts with no upward exit for the heated air to create circulation. Nothing that a few exhaust holes on top can't cure though.
If you buy this router and get spotty behavior after it running stable for 10-15 minutes, consider exploring whether heat buildup may be causing the innards to overheat.

Easy setup. Great performance. Cheap N.
Pros: As implied in the title, this unit was very easy to hook up and configure. I'm getting amazingly high throughput though I haven't measured it against a direct wired connection. I also haven't tested a "long-distance" connection, but so far I'm happy with the signal strength and consistency of the signal.
Cons: None observed so far.
Other Thoughts: An amazing price (on sale here at NewEgg) for what seems, so far, to be a very adequate (if not excellent - TBD) home router with N capability.

Cheap is not always a bargain
Pros: Price. was 25 bux., 270 Mbps wireless n (even if for only 5-10 minutes at a time), wired connection seems o.k. shipped quick.
Cons: Wireless connection drops every 5-10 minutes or so. Rebooting the computer restores connectivity. Unacceptable. This is with a Trendnet wireless n card in desktop pc. Laptop suffers from frequently dropped wireless connection as well. Firmware upgrade didn't help. Wireless signal strength reports strong. Google and read about some of the issues this router has.
Other Thoughts: Go for something else that actually works. How many hours would you like to spend rebooting or with tech support trying to get the wireless feature of this "cheap" router to work consistently, like it should out of the box? But if you don't need the wireless that much, maybe its for you.

Cheap router.
Pros: Cheap. Very easy setup.
Cons: Internet cuts in and out. I've had it for a little over a week and I have to restart the thing a few times a day because my computer can't get the signal.
Other Thoughts: It's a REALLY cheap N-Band router. And you're getting what you pay for. The setup process couldn't have been better. There's a wizard for those of you who aren't tech savvy, and those of you who are can ignore that and set it up manually. Be sure to allow popups from the router setup address, or you won't see the wizard come up.

Different Experience from Other Reviewers
Pros: This router works well from the first floor with two basement computers (one XP, one 98SE) and with my two sons' IPOD Touchs anywhere in the house. I have no doubt that it will work well with my daughter's notebook when she returns from college.
Cons: None I can think of.
Other Thoughts: My router is cool as a cucumber even when I don't stand it up. I don't know why others run hot. Mine is version 2.0 though I don't see how that would make any difference in the heat output. I got it for $35 and would have preferred to get it for $25 as some others here have, though not if the ones coming out at that time were all running hot. Maybe Trendnet did some kind of redesign to make the product run cooler. I know that they have monitored this thread and responded to a couple of reviews. Does anyone else who has recently bought this router find that it runs cool rather than hot?

ok while it worked
Pros: Small and affordable.
Cons: Purchased in Mid May died in Mid October, paid $25 for it so it cost $5 a month. Don't think I got my money's worth but close.
Other Thoughts: Next time I will spend a couple more bucks and get something that will last a year or so.

Trendnet Rocks
Pros: Great wireless range, does not over-heat...be sure to remove packing tape on side vents. no re-starts. Price, Price, Price. I run 3 wired desktop PC's 1 wireless Laptop and 1 MacPro all with no problem's.
Cons: User interface is ok.... all the basics are there but you cant control lease times. It's either off or on. I used to control the kids online time.....but I cant with this router. Nothing to really worry about.
Other Thoughts: Hopefully Trendnet will address this with there next firmware update? Buy this router and save your money.

Edit of "Very Disappointed" review
Pros: Very easy to set up. I had trouble keeping a wired internet connection at first. Did some research at my ISP's website. They suggested switching the modem from PPPoE to Bridge mode. Followed the instructions and the router has been working perfectly ever since. Great price and free shipping is a plus.
Cons: I gave 4 eggs for poor documentation.
Other Thoughts: This is a second review

Cons: external antennas Not removable
Other Thoughts: broke 1 antenna trying to remove. Not a problem, will solder in a RP-TNC jack. Just wished I'd known. To be a test/replacement for WRT54, to try for better signal. Using 2 cantennas @ 1/4 mi span. Will edit/add once in use.

N for under 35.00 WOW!
Pros: Resonably Priced for sure....... EASY SETUP........ I think a great value for the money. And Oh Yeah its "N"........
Cons: As others have written, this thig GETS REALLY Hot, even Hot to the touch, I have it sitting on its side and it seems to be running a bit cooler. Usually Heat liek this would concern me but for 35.00 for a Wireless N thats not too bad for the price
Other Thoughts: My mom needed a Router at her house in PA with me being in Ohio I took this back with me and set it up for here and BLAMO she has Wireless, It does Run VERY VERY Hot.

Very Disappointed
Pros: Was easy to setup using the wizard.
Cons: running with wired, haven't tried wireless yet, dropped connection after 5 minutes of use. Reset router and dropped connection again.

Pros: Great price. Great speeds. No major issues.
Cons: The firmware shipped was a bit outdated and buggy. Didn't support port forwarding immediately but was fixed upon upgrading.

Finally!! This things works perfectly!
Pros: Simply awesome price! Small and Sexy! Decent signal range. Works well after you follow the instructions in this review.
Cons: Plagued with reliability issues out-of-the-box. You must download the latest firmware from TrendNet's homepage, and login to the router then goto TOOLS> FIRMWARE> UPGRADE FIRMWARE. This router runs HOT! Find a way to stand it on its side for better cooling, this is VERY important. I also found that specific security settings were causing us to receive the "Limited or no Connectivity" message shortly after a successful connection -causing us to restart the router on a daily basis. >:O
Other Thoughts: After several frustrating attempts during the first week of ownership, I finally found the security settings that have proven reliable with all pcs/macs/ and also our TIVO, Wii, and XBox 360, and we haven't had to restart the router since!
To setup your wireless network security type/password login to your router and go to WIRELESS> SECURITY.
Authentication Type - "WPA-AUTO" <--allows for WPA/WPA2 PSK / EAP - "PSK" <--recommended for home networks Cipher Type - "AUTO"
Enter your desired passphrase. Click apply and allow router to restart.

wireless doesn't work
Pros: when connected directly it seems to work...
Cons: I tried to connect wirelessly the first day, great, it worked. I tried again a few weeks later and it could not stay connected if it could connect at all; sometimes I couldn't even see the SSID being broadcast. Given the shipping time, by this time, the 30 days for a return had lapsed...

Dissapointing
Pros: Fast connect speeds, reasonable coverage, easy upgrade to latest software. Neweggs fast shipping, good product selection, and excellent customer service, have always satisfied me over the past 6 + years.
Cons: It's dead :-( Seemed to run much hotter than any other previous router I have used, or installed for a friend.
Other Thoughts: Guess the odds of something going wrong had to catch up to me :( Time to see if Newegg will replace it. This is one of very few problems with a Newegg product over many years. I don't shop anywhere else for computer/electronics. unless it's (rarely) just not available from Newegg.

HOT ROUTER
Pros: IT LOOKS COOL. IT WORKED GREAT WITH MY LAPTOP
Cons: THIS ROUTER GETS VERY HOT. IT DOES NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS. THIS ROUTER DOES NOT WORK WITH THE TRENDnet WIRELESS ADAPTER I GOT. I THOUGHT THAT SINCE BOTH ROUTER AND ADAPTER WERE TRENDnet IT WOULD WORK WITH NO PROBLEM. THE BOOK SAID JUST PRESS THE WPS BUTTON ON THE ROUTER AND THE ADAPTER, THEY WOULD CONNECT. THAT DID NOT WORK SO I HOOK BOTH TO MY CPU TO SETUP DID NOT WORK. SO I WENT BACK TO MY OLD NETGEAR ROUTER AND EVERYTHING WORKED. THIS ROUTER DOES SUCK.
Other Thoughts: GOOD PRICE BAD ROUTER

Not working with 3 diff wireless cards
Pros: Easy install, sleek design and definate improvement in speed over previous router (slower)
Cons: Have 2 laptops - works with one (integrated) and will not work with any of 3 different wireless cards we have for laptop #2. Downloaded firmware, tech support (fair) options did not resolve. Spent a lot more time trying to resolve than if we sent it back and bought another - that is the gameplan, by the way.

Hopeless
Pros: Cheap, compared to some other 802.11n routers.
Cons: I have this router set up less than 50 feet from my computer (To write this review, I currently have a 50' ethernet cable snaking through the hallways with plenty of slack) and the signal levels are atrocious, no matter what I've tried. I'm using a PCI 802.11n adapter with three antennas, and I can barely get 2 bars in Windows' wifi management control panel, while my old 802.11g router gave me 5 bars. My cable connection gives me 20mbps download and 7mbps upload, with the wifi I'm lucky to get 1mbps either way. The biggest disappointment with this router is that when setting it to 802.11n-only mode, I can't even connect to it! I've tried this on four different computers, 2 PC and 2 Mac, and only ONE can connect while in 802.11n-only mode (and yes, all of them have 802.11n adapters that have connected to other n networks). Using 802.11b/g/n mixed mode only complicates matters - some can connect, some can't, some can connect but drop the signal frequently.
Other Thoughts: I also have to reboot the router occasionally because even the wired connections stop working.

Good but not for N with intel 4965AGN
Pros: Cheap, Works great with G.
Cons: Does not work with my Intel 4965AGN network adapter. ...Neither before or after I updated to latest drivers/firmware of both.
Other Thoughts: Did not test A, do not have other N adapters. Would be interested in others experience with the same or other adapters specifically.

TRENDnet N Router
Pros: Price is good. Performance is better than my somewhat old Lynksys g router. Once setup is done, it maintains pretty stable connection throughout.
Cons: Web based set-up program is not so intuitve and have to wait min 10 sec to save. This router gets pretty hot eventhough it has vent holes on two sides.
Other Thoughts: If you're looking for an economical router that can replace your old router, this could be a good bet. If you're looking for more, then go for other brands.

Great price, - keeps overheating locking up, becoming unresponsive.
Pros: The router was reasonable cheap when I bought it to replace a competitors router that the switch stopped working on. It is a budget model wireless N. Neweggs shipping dept got it here quick..
Cons: The router keeps overheating. (A google search seems to indicate this is a ongoing issue). The overheating is causing the router to become unresponsive [lockup] and /or delay webpages from loading. [What good is it if I can not connect or share web access in a 2 story house?]
Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a replace a competitors router... that was far more reliable.. that was about 5 years old until it stopped worki I believe someone in engineering should check this router to see if would work better with active cooling like a small case fan. {It would very likely prevent quite a few returns due to overheating / dead router problems.} If someone from Trendnet would post a reply, I would be glad to provide feedback / or ideas to improve the product.

Very good
Pros: Easy to set up, easy to configure, easy to use. Great price for a dual antenna N router!
Cons: Set up not as idiot proof as other routers, but not a problem for me and shouldn't be a problem for anyone that has any busniess setting up a router.
Other Thoughts: New egg shipping is great; ordered with 5 day shipping, got here in 4.

Strong signal
Pros: Was able to get full 30 Mbps download thru two walls of an apartment building. Signal was stronger than a D-Link 600 that I also tested, and two antennas for spatial advantage helps that because I have found that when the problem is objects in the way, you can often greatly improve a signal by moving a computer literally inches.
Cons: Ended up getting timeouts, where pings to the router would stop for about 90 seconds before getting undeliverable pings and then a batch of pings with sequence numbers from when the laptop stopped receiving replies from the router... but since the same situation happened with D-Link router, it's probably just something with my network card or the busy wireless environment so it is NOT something wrong with this router. ^^
Other Thoughts: Great price, great value! However, since even a single unannounced two-minute disconnect in a four-hour period was unacceptable for my needs, I've had to go with ethernet.

Tolerably bad
Pros: Cheap wireless N upgrade. Doesn't run any hotter than my previous wireless router. Seems fairly stable, no reboots required yet after about 2 weeks. Web interface is very easy and surprisingly snappy.
Cons: To enable static DHCP you need to upgrade the firmware, but even then it doesn't seem to work. Port forwarding also does not work.
Other Thoughts: This product met my needs in that it provided 802.11n speeds at an outrageously low price. Things like static DHCP and port forwarding would be nice to have and will probably work with a future firmware upgrade, but it is frustrating not to have those functions available.
Also, in order to enable clients to connect at 802.11n speeds I had to enable the "WMM" feature under the "Wireless>Basic" settings.

Does what it needs to
Pros: Got two of these for $50 They work better than Linksys or Belkin. Reception was what I would expect from an 'N' router. Looks very nice, glossy black.
Cons: Was quirky for a second on the initial setup. Only one out of two though.
GUI leaves something to be desired, but all major functions were there.
Other Thoughts: Should have bought more.

300Mbps wireless, 100Mbps wired?
Pros: It's inexpensive and does what it says.
Cons: Same gripe as everyone else... Configuration is pretty slow.
Other Thoughts: So my media server is connected to the box via CAT5e cable. Max throughput over router's Enet interface theoretically 100Mbs minus overhead. Max throughput over wireless theoretically 300Mbs minus overhead. Seems to me that this thing needs a GigE interface. Am I missing something here?

Attempted FW Upgrade and Bricked Device
Pros: Inexpensive, wireless N, Wired ports on back
Cons: Firmware upgrade went wrong. Connected device with wired lan directly to my laptop, logged into router's web page and attempted to upgrade firmware. Device says through web page that FW was unsuccessful, so tried again, and now can't access the device. I learned later that if you press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds while you power it on that you can get to an emergency restore web page which I was able to do, but I never did find a firmware binary that it would accept. Guess I need to send this back or use it as a $25 paperweight.
Other Thoughts: Gave it three eggs, because I'm assuming it'd be a cool wireless router if I could get it working with the latest firmware.

Great N Router
Pros: N draft for a very low price and it has a 3 year warranty. It has been rock steady, no dropped connections and super fast speeds on the wireless. I bought this because I bought a new lap top that has an N card in it. I am very pleased with this router. I was using the multi award winning Linksys wrt54GL flashed with DD-WRT, but it does not support N.
Cons: It had out dated firmware out of the box, but most all routers have this. The download of the new firmware was simple and easy to install from the trendnet site. I like the small foot print this router has, but this makes for a little crowding of the ports on the back.

Lowest cost N firewall
Pros: The price for this unit is comparable to entry level 802.11g models. Find another 802.11n firewall for $40 ... good luck. This unit follows the old Nissan line, "Everything you need & nothing you don't".
Has excellent range versus 802.11b/g, which is why I like 802.11n. Has good speed delivering about 130Mbps over the wireless connection within reasonable proximity. Maintains a solid connection with very few dropped packets. Overall good network performance.
Once configured, the firewall is stable.
Cons: Even with the latest firmware (v1.10.08), the web configuration menu has some issues (e.g., flaws, typos, etc.) but nothing major.
This firmware occasionally "forgets" you're logged in and displays mis-formed menu pages forcing you to re-login.
As others have commented this unit does run a little warm, so keep it well ventilated.
Other Thoughts: Always upgrade the firmware on any of these devices before putting them into service. This unit is no different.
The configuration menu displays a 10 seconds timer to change a setting ... except for "restart" which takes 120 seconds.
PPPoE works flawlessly on Qwest DSL with DSL modem in bridged mode.
The WAN port is right next to all the LAN ports. Easy to plug in the cable/DSL modem to the wrong port so be careful.
Overall, she's a peach.

Great for the Money
Pros: Cheap, got it for $24.99 & free ship. Wireless N
Cons: somewhat tricky setup
Other Thoughts: Wireless is a little bit of a trick. I couldn't connect with it running the Mixed B, G, N 802.11 broadcast but as soon as I put in on just G or N it was fine.
As for the heat issue, it gets hot because there are no vents in the top, my old linksys would get hot if the vent on top was blocked too. Easy solution, I turned it on its side so one of the side vents is on top now, also putting the bottom vent on the side and allowing heat to flow right out. Worked like a charm, its just a little warm now.
For the price and minor hassle, you can't beat it.
