Works well
Pros: Lots of features Stable Wi-Fi connection More than enough range to cover my whole apartment Came with latest firmware out of the box
Cons: Use the web interface to setup the router - the setup program from the CD doesn't really give you any options even when it comes to WiFi security settings etc.
Other Thoughts: Got this router to mostly run WiFi for my Skype phone and it definitely solved all the disconnections / dropped calls issues I was having with my old router.

Best product for this price!!!
Pros: Very stylish design and compact size compare to other brands. High performance and stability!!! User friendly interface and a lot of features.
Cons: Router setup software on manufacturer's CD did not work - "Error message appears" I used clean Windows xp pro (no any soft was installed just winxp).
Other Thoughts: I installed this router manually: 1. In "Internet Explorer" address bar type 192.168.10.1 and press ENTER 2. Enter default user name and password (you can find it in manual) 3 Choose you settings and click save.
If you will not setup the router from manufacturer's CD or manually it not going to work.

WAN PPTP with Encryption
Pros: This is one of the few routers that supports MPPE (VPN Encryption) with PPTP on the WAN port (mostly used in Europe, but useful in many situations in the US). Just about every other router that offers PPTP on the WAN port does not support any type of encryption for the VPN. This router does.
Cons: Several people consider that the 802.11g capability of this router is a con. I believe that is a mis-categorization. It is an 802.11g access point / router, not an 802.11n.
Other Thoughts: If you've ever read a product manual and found it lacking in detail or content, then you haven't read a Zyxel User Manual. The one for this product is 141 page, which is small by Zyxel standards. Lots of detail and information.

Disappointed -
Pros: Great feature set and capabilities
Cons: my 12mb cable became ~3mb when using this router - maybe I had a faulty router?

Great secret!
Pros: It has a GREAT bridge mode! Other WiFi bridges cost a whole lot more, and this one works flawlessly.
Cons: It's only a "G" router.
Other Thoughts: If you don't need an "N" router, this is a very flexible piece of equipment that can help with a lot of tasks.

Solid Router
Pros: Perfect Connectivity ALL the time even in a concrete reinforced building.
Cons: I don't have one for myself!
Other Thoughts: I am a NET+ Certified Network consultant. I had a project where I needed to run a small business wireless network. I got this to hold me over until the new parts router came in. The company loved their new speeds. I left this in place. PERFECT buy on a budget.

2 years old and going strong
Pros: inexpensive, good coverage
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I actually have the P-334, which they don't sell anymore. THis puts out great coverage. I figured out you need to spend money on the wireless adapter that RECIEVES this signal. I had a cheapo Edimax bought at the same time and it never had a decent signal from the next room. Later my work laptop was getting 'excellent' signal everywhere in my house and I bought a Dell true wireless USB adapter and replaced my edimax on the desktop, now I get 100 percent signal, 54 mbs on that desktop with the good wireless adapter. My wireless connection downloads files in excess of 250 kb/s, being 1 floor above and 2 rooms over from this router. I would highly recommend.

Easy setup with DHCP
Pros: Good setup manual and built-in setup wizard.
Cons: Needs a wiring diagram in the Quick Start Guide instead of page 2.
Other Thoughts: For setup with DSL: Be sure to connect to DSL/Cable modem first using WAN socket next to antenna. Then connect on computer to a LAN port. If you have already been using DSL, you can skip to page 7 in the manual. In setup wizard, choose DHCP Client, enter your SSID (for wireless site name), and set channel number to Auto. For easy security setup, choose WPA and enter a WPA-Pre-shared-key password. That's all you need to do. The built-in DHCP will do the rest.

Did not recieve rebate
Pros: Works well, no problems except you have to configure it with IE not firefox :(
Cons: Zyxel did not send me the rebate, no off button
Other Thoughts: overall, its a really good buy for the price
Manufacturer Response:Dear Yem02, Thanks for your recent P330W purchase; I'm sorry to hear you didn't get your submitted rebate check yet. Solid Router
Pros: to the reviewer No Go: please update to the latest Firmware 1.8v since the routers ship with an older firmware. http://us.zyxel.com/web/support_download_list.php?indexflag=20040906164737&ModelIndexflags=0,PDCA2006032
after update router should work as advertized. If still problems contact Zyxel support. This is a very good router for a great price.
Cons: non
Other Thoughts: also if you are on cable you must select respon to WAN ping. I have zero trouble with this router and highly recommend it. Also suppots WDS.

NO GO
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Does not hold a DHCP IP address. Can not renew IP address. Works for a few minutes and then must be power cycled. Internet has many other such complaints when using cable modems. Not Recommended.
Manufacturer Response:Dear Mike, Sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting your P330W working smoothly. ZyXEL's standard warranty covers all products for 2 years, with absolutely no charge for parts or labor. I certainly recommend contacting our Tech Support, using the Toll-free number or email listed below, we'd like to work with you getting your P330W up and running. Great for the price
Pros: I don't see why other wireless routers cost up to $80, got this for about half the price with great results. Works flawlessly with my Vista HP laptop. The range is pretty decent too.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Fast delivery, as always from Newegg.

All is well
Pros: I got the dough [rebate] in my pocket!
I wa hesitant on the wireless modem thing entirely, but newegg and ZyXEL made me an offer too good to refuse, er, experiment wirelessly with to refuse, so I got it.
I had super poor QoS with my old network that included a D-Link Gamer's Lounge that wa a few years old so I was motivated to get a new router. I was also hit by many power outages to the old network and was resetting the old stuff onece a week....bad QoS.
So was this router my savior? I can only affirm it was to this date. Will I get long term serivcability from this unit? Only an idiot would go Yes or No.
Ok. This unit is low watt. In my case this is just swell. I am using it upstairs and it is in the basement and I can use it all over this small ranch-style home. I have a bit of trouble on the gazebo in tha back yard but consider that is 50ft away and there is a hottub in between about 1/2 way, the gazebo has a metal frame, and there is a custom iron pipe handrail
Cons: in between as well. So I would say you might need more wattage, BUT I do not and I like the performance. This is not a CON comment I just ran out of characters<<<<<<<I play UT online just as good as with the other router I had as the bandwidth specs is the same.
Other Thoughts: NEWEGG is good. It is like going to the market for any electronics item there is. If I was not in the market and had not scrolled routers here I never would have heard of ZyXEL. I am glad they brough ZyXEL to my attention!!!!

Slows down internet speed
Pros: Small, looks nice
Cons: Ever since I connected it, internet response time has gone down the drain! Pages are loading sloooow... and I don't know why. Trying to figure it out now.
Other Thoughts: Go with a brand name... Linksys, Netgear, Asus.. and so on..

Works Great!
Pros: Am not using as router, just as a switch and access point for a couple iPhones. It works perfectly. Never a dropped connection. Great speeds. Great price with rebate, I'd buy it again without the rebate.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Our house is 100 years old this year and has crazy-thick plaster walls. The router is set up in the living room and we have wireless throughout the house. Also, when I was younger we'd order stuff out of magazines with 4 to 6 weeks delivery time. Now, NewEgg gets it to me in 3 days every time!

Good, Cheap router
Pros: This router works at least as good as my Linksys wireless VOIP router. Same range as Linksys. Easy to use if you know what you're doing.
Cons: ??? Software could be could be more organized but not bad.
Other Thoughts: I paid 9 bucks, shipped after a rebate and sale so it's well worth the price but it's about as good as a Linksys at a lower price

Does not work with Clearwire Service
Pros: It's compact and does not take much space. A very well built router.
Cons: Did not work with Clearwire Internet Service. If you have an Internet Provider with a Dynamic Internet IP Address, it will not work. It will connect and within a couple of minutes it will loose it's Internet IP Address.
Other Thoughts: I recommend buying a D-Link, Netgear, or Belkin router. I know I am going to be buying one of those after knowing that the P-330W does not work with dynamic IP Address providers.

very stable
Pros: stable performance, small footprint
Cons: power supply is huge, heavy and only AC120V, can't use it in travel applications

Good Router
Pros: Easy to use. Full set of features for a router in the lower price range. Has allowed pass through VPN connections with no problems. Worked perfect with DSL.
Cons: When I switched to comc*st cable internet this router started to lose it's internet connectivity every several days (even though the WAN light stays light). Not a big deal just requires a quick power cycle and all is fine again. Has never happened well the router was in use...only when internet is idle.
Other Thoughts: Not going to get a better router for the $$$ so long as the rebate is still available. And I got actually got my rebate check!

ZyXEL P-330W
Pros: Has good coverage, I liked it DHCP Server/Client option. Works well with a game system. Great router for the price!
Cons: Takes a while to get used to the interface.
Other Thoughts: I used to own one of these things and gave it to my step mother because she needed to use it as a DHCP Client (which works amazing!). I was sad to part with it. I bought a Belkin F5D7230-5 to replace it... That was a mistake. I bought two of these a few days ago because I like them so much!

Pros: Setup was easy, worked right out of box.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: The setup for a wireless bridge was not hard, but the reset after each step made it longer than required. I think if you made all the changes in each section (SSID, Mode, etc.) then saved - it might be quicker.

hard to set up
Pros: once it's set up it works great.
Cons: for some reason it was very difficult to set up and i still don't have any idea why. it took almost 2 hours to get it to work the way it was supposed to.
Other Thoughts: once it finally started working, setup would normally take 10 minutes. it wasn't hard once it decided to work.

Pros: cheap
Cons: Unable to maintain DHCP connection to Comcast servers. Looses connection within 2-3 minutes of obtaining IP address. Emailed support (no phone response) and never received a response beyond immediate acknowledgment of request for support. Finally, unable to set up as access point-a capability implied in setup and user blog.

Pros: Was given as a Christmas Gift. Have had it up and running for 6+ months without any errors or need to reboot. Easy setup with my fiber connection. Would recommend for any average user like myself.
Cons: None

Good Inexpensive Cable Modem Router
Pros: Was fairly easy to set up once I figured out how a network goes toegether. The documentation was not very clear on this.
Cons: Had to reboot every week or so. Updated to the latest firmware (1.18) and have not had to reboot since. Suggest that all who have this router update to the latest firmware.
Other Thoughts: I got this on sale last year from another store and it worked fairly well since then except for the infrequent pausing.
Since upgrading to the latest firmware I have not any problems at all. I have 2 computers working wirelessly and 1 wired with a wired print server. Everything works well together on Vista and I have no complaints now.

Pros: It works well and has good security features. The web based configuration pages are very responsive and it reboots quickly. Great range.
Cons: It drops connection at least once a week...sometimes more sometimes less.
Other Thoughts: The dropped connection doesnt bother me that much but my wife would like to stomp on it, lol.

This is how to fix the reset issue
Pros: like I said before, not bad little router. Small foot print, light etc, but its effective
Cons: was having to reset the connection ever couple of days, because it would lose connection with the cable modem
Other Thoughts: This is how to fix this very annoying issue. in settings, go to Advanced --> Wan Port
then on the right side click the Respond to Wan Ping check box. Save the settings and reset the router by unplugging it and plgging it back in after 15 seconds or so. After I did this, my issue disappeared

Not a bad router
Pros: Its steady and its fast, and it allows me to play CNC3 online where as my netgear doesn't. EA stinks.
Cons: For some reason I have to refresh the router every couple of days or it loses its connection to my cable modem. I even switched cable modems and it does the same thing. I have updated the firmware; teh jury is stil out as to whether or not this will fix the issue. Not really a con on the router, but its obvious that the website and manual was written by someone who does not speak english that well.
Other Thoughts: if someone knows of a fix to the dropped connection thing, please post it, because other than that this has been a rock steady router over the last few months. have to disconnect cable modem from wall, and ethernet from modem, power cycle the modem, and hook up ethernet, then wait so modem issues a new ip address to the router. then hook modem up to the wall. router then pops right in. Did I mention EA stinks?

Excellent Router
Pros: Can connect to other networks via hard-line or wireless. Very cheap. Better range than my Linksys WRT54G
Cons: Menu system doesn't work well when in client mode
Other Thoughts: These little routers are so cool that I picked a second one up after having the first for three months. The router can be a little quirky at times... such as it doesn't like to report it's own up address in the menu, but it's connected. Also, the router can be put into client mode. For instance, upstairs i have a ZyXEL X-550.. I have the P-330 (the one being reviewed) downstairs in client mode. This means, the router is connected wirelessly to the main router connected to the modem. I then have a hard-line from the p-330 to my computers. This is GREAT if you have multiple pc's but don't want to spend the money for wireless cards for all of them. Some houses require your modem to be in a less than desirable spot.. you can simply put any decent wireless router at the modem, then downstairs have this p330 receiving the signal and connected to the other pc's.

Router needs power-cycle every 3 days
Pros: Reasonably priced, lots of features. However, given the problems I have had with it I must rate it low.
Cons: The router doesn't deal with cable modem service very well - it has to be power-cycled every 3 days to re-establish connection.
See for information on this and other problems.

Cons: First unit was DOA. Have not recieved replacement. Returns are a pain when you mail order products. Cross shipping would be nice, at least for proven good customers. Eating return shipping kinda stinks.
Other Thoughts: From all the positive reviews I'd say my experience is not typical. I'm sure all will be fine in the long run except.

Great Router
Pros: Very simple setup. This one is set as a Wi-Fi Access Point type configuration.
Cons: Had to reset the router maybe twice in 6 months.
Other Thoughts: Would like to see a better antennae, but holds good connection.

P-330w
Pros: Easy setup and works out of the box using DHCP for WAN and LAN.
Functions as a Gateway (most common), Bridge, or Wireless ISP.
Cons: Cannot assign static IP's to specfic host names or MAC addresses. Can be worked around by manually setting a static IP on client PC and changin DHCP scope on router so it doesn't conflict.
Router is dying after two months of use. Now I must reboot the unit every day or so...it just drops the WAN interface.
Unit runs hot, which can't be good to the electronics. It feels like a hot cup of coffee, unconfortable to hold any extended time.
I've emailed their support....twice now... 1st reply was "try flashing the firmware. This was annoying since I clearly stated I had done so...even tried an older firmware.
2nd reply....there wasn't one.
so tomorrow I'm gonna call them....doubt it'll go good.

good but not great
Pros: Excellent range, I get coverage over the entire house. Relatively simple to set up, the web interface is relatively intuitive.
Cons: Doesn't like to do MAC filtering (at least not for me). Set this up with a WEP key and MAC filtering, and I could only get one or two of my four computers to work. Plus with MAC filtering, it wss kinda slow. However, removed MAC filtering, running only WEP now, and speed have increased and all 4 computers now have no problems logging in wirelessly.
Other Thoughts: All in all, nice product. Not terribly concerned with security here, but it would have been nice to have MAC filtering. Oh well.

Pros: Good interface, handles high traffic, good range.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I purchased this router to replace an aging 802.11b router. It has worked great. Despite the size of the antenna on this model, I get better reception. Also, it's built using Linux. There is a webpage to let you explore it if you wish (http://<router LAN address>/syscmd.asp).

Got for free from my cousin.....
Pros: free for me. very small light weight easy to install and configure without software. works well with my psp. been running for 4 months straight no disconnects or low signal strengh.
Cons: my cousin didn't give it to me sooner. i'm not sure if this is a con or not but the unit does run warm...not sure if this is common for all routers but it has been very stable for me.
Other Thoughts: i swapped out the stock antenna for a xterasys 5dbi at newwegg. hooked up to cable modem in my basement 5 computers connected to it wirelessly in a three story brownstone 2 on ground floor(4 bars) 2 on the top floor (4 bars) and 1 in the basement(mine 5 bars). all in all it is a pretty decent router i would recommend this for those looking for their first wireless router. i do game on it as well ut, ut2k4, cod, coduo, cod2 eve online and i don't notice any lag...probably my proximity to the router...less that 6 ft.
