Other Thoughts: I run Linux on this machine and it runs smoother than any of my previous computers or my friends'. I've had this since January (9 months now) and couldn't be more pleased.

I had some difficulty finding the drivers for it when I switched to linux, but nothing a few adventurous searches couldn't solve!

Pros: A decently fast computer, for what it costs at least. Vista being on this machine may be it's biggest downfall, aside from the 80 Sony bloatware programs that come preloaded on all their hardware.

Other Thoughts: Probably would not make this same purchase again. Better off to go with a lesser-known brand laptop manufacturer, rather than pay an extra $100-$300 just for the name.

Pros: This notebook is a good unit for the price - it's relatively fast and the display is very bright and color correct, the keyboard is adequate and overall construction and layout are good. Unit is slimline and light enough to carry all day. SONY supports the warranty with excellent service should you need it. This unit does play 1920 x 1080 i Blu Ray HD Video if you stream it to the HD and have the software so the display is fast enough for that.

Cons: NONE if you consider the PRICE relative to the market ... it is NOT as fast as some would have you believe i.e. if you are thinking about doing serious HD Video editing with this forget it - it's way to slow for that - SD Video is no problem - the SATA 250 GB HD is only 5400 RPM and a SATA 350 HD @ 7200 RPM does speed up the video processing. The MS VISTA OS is only 32 Bit. But - Again for the Price this is a good unit.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to do AVCHD Video processing in the field and was disappointed to see how slow this unit is however, adding a 7200 RPM SATA drive and + 1 GB memory was just what I needed to do NLE Editing on this unit - it's slow but works well and very stable. The Video card is marginal for HDV Video but does handle it at the native resolution.

Pros: Fast for a laptop running Vista

Pros: i got this for $599.99 when it was on sale, so that's a pretty good price for all that it comes with. Very fast 3 gb of ram. plenty of hard disk space. lots of movie making software. firewire, which they don't really advertise. webcam built in is cool, lots of fun tools like the mac stuff. the material is actually pretty nice, dont really have to worry too much about scratches. very light. nice screen and built in speakers. overall just a good notebook for normal activity like school work. ah, and lots of usb ports, 4. there are lots of other ports i dont know what you would use for.

Cons: lots of unnecessary software that youll want to delete. some people may not like the material. could use more auxiliary buttons for volume control. i dont think the battery lasts more than 2 hours, but i usually only use it when its plugged in. Other than those things nothing else really.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth the $599.99 price tag. i looked around for a week all over the web and didnt find as good a computer for as good a price. Would definitely buy again.

Pros: I got his for my wife because it was on sale for $600 with free shipping. It got here a day early and my wife loves it. As matter of fact the thing is so great im mad i dident get one lol its fast and runs great once you remove the sony bloatware

Cons: Bloat ware (but all manufacturers do that c rap(i cant belive newegg wont let you say C rap)). I dident give my wife my laptop and take this one haha.

Pros: Very fast! Vista is different, takes just a little getting used to (1 hour). The ram and screen make this computer worth it. Overall, extremely pleased!!

Cons: Loud clicker, but not a big deal.
