buy in bulk
Pros: I've installed and used 6 of these fans in two of my custom built computers. They are very quiet and push a decent amount of air, but don't feel like they are pushing as much as advertised.
Cons: Of the 6 that I originally installed, 3 have failed, two of them after less than 6 months of service. I felt that they should be pushing more air than can be felt when holding your hand over them while spinning.

Works, but Loud
Pros: Good airflow. Comes with screws and rubber mounts.
Cons: Has a very annoying "drone" (or whine) to it. Even when the speed has been reduced I can still hear it. The color is kind of strange. Very large. You will need plenty of room for this monster. Expensive.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you have room for this fan.

Good, but pricey.
Pros: It is a quiet fan for the amount of air it pushes, but I feel it could be better.
Dropped my CPU temp 5-7ºC in both idle and load temps when paired with the Corsair H50 and Tuniq TX-2 paste. I run an i7 920 @ 3.66 GHz and 1.2 VCore with max temp of 63-64C during a Prime95 stress test. This thing would be like ice if I kept my CPU at stock settings.
Cons: I wish it were quieter.
Other Thoughts: Basically I've got a glorified air cooler with this fan on my radiator. It's a few notches louder than the stock fan the H50 came with, but it also helps to drop the temperature a couple degrees too. Is it worth it...? Not for $20+, no.
If you're looking to turn your PC case into a quiet wind tunnel, then yes, a few of these would be worth it.

quiet
Pros: Quiet and great for moving air.
Cons: The width makes this thing quite large... if you don't have at least an inch width wise, don't get this fan... it's too large for tight spaces, get one of the smaller silenx fans... any one will do, they're all quiet...
Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a very nice fan... it's quiet and can move air if it needs too... so yeah, it's perfect for me... I have 3 in my case, and I can barely hear them until I turn up the fan speed, even at the fastest speed, they're not much louder than a phone vibrating or a light wisper... it's great... I like quiet and these are quiet.

TOO BIG???
Pros: This thing is LARGE!!! It would be almost way to big for anything smaller than a FULL-TOWER... just sayin... it's almost too big for mine. Anyhoo, it's more quiet than the AMD Phenom ii x4 965 stock fan... and it cools anywhere from 2-8c in my case...
Cons: It might be too large? And the fact that the clip for the am3 board is almost too loose... it actually slides around on the processor when it's first put on... you can almost turn the thing a complete 360 degrees... so yeah... would like to see a more secure clip...
Other Thoughts: Other than the size, and the clip holding, this isn't a bad cooler. It comes with the intel mounts too... 1156, 1366 and 775 (or something like that)... so it can support both i5, i7 and the Core 2 line, as well as the latest 965 from amd.

Nice Fan!
Pros: Very nice fan! Massively quite and moves a boat-load of air. I put this on the radiator for my water cooling system and the temps in my case and water dropped.
Cons: It's really tall! No - wait.... REALLY TALL! If you're limited on space, be careful.
Other Thoughts: For me, the height wasn't an issue. My fan is mounted at the top of my case - it's on the outside, the radiator is on the inside. The extra height is meaningless due to the volume of air moved.

Pros: Quiet, really moves the air.
Cons: It is thick. Far thicker that I had anticipated. It didn't make problems for me, it might have in another case.

Works as advertised
Pros: It's quiet and pushes a lot of air. I have an Xclio case with 2x 250mm fans and this 120mm fan can push more air than those two.
Cons: none so far

Terrible life
Pros: Worked for at least 6 months I suppose. They could have only worked for 5 I guess.
Cons: Only worked for 6 months..
When I got the fans (4 x30.99 before they were cheaper) I knew the rated CFM/DB noise was a bit... off.
They worked well for the first 6 months and then bam within a 2 week period, all 4 siezed. I smelled burning from the fans and I was purely irritated.
Other Thoughts: Avoid these, you can find cheaper fans that won't burn out in a few months.

most of the way there...
Pros: As quiet as advertised (measured with a meter) and the rubber mounts are a great idea. Construction quality is good. Æsthetics aren't bad, not that it matters in the slightest since it is a fan not a bloody showpiece.
Cons: Have a hard time believing this fan is really pushing 90 CFM. Colored wires would be nice since I had to pull the pins and stick them in a two pin plug, but a 9V battery is all you need to figure it out if you have doubts.
Other Thoughts: Used this to replace the 53 db 120 CFM fan in a MDD G4. Despite the lower CFM rating, it seems adequate even under heavy processor usage and dropped the noise floor considerably.

Wrong specs
Pros: Pushes out a lot of air.
Cons: Does not run at the specs shown here. It runs a lot faster and makes a lot of noise.
Other Thoughts: buy a fan controller if you're gonna get this fan

Great radiator fans
Pros: This is the best air flow to fan noise ratio i could find. Lots and lots or airflow!
Cons: Is not silver or black but some dark brownish color. Picture is a little misleading.
Other Thoughts: Had two generic fans on my radiator and was getting around 45 degrees for my CPU. Installed two of these and my temps went down to 38 degrees (idle). Have them on a fan controller but you dont really need a fan controller since they are so quite.

Big fan Little noise
Pros: 1 - Move lot's of air 2 - Quiet
Cons: 1 - Pricey 2 - Fat (wide) 3 - Lots of air noise (duh, each is moving 90cfm)
Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these fans acting as exhaust fans on my CM690 case with 2 IXP-74-14, 1 CM blue LED 120x120x25mm, & 1 IXP-52-11 blowing on the back of my motherboard. I'm moving 180cfm exhaust & ~205cfm intake, makes my tower a great space heater for the room, LOL.
With the Zalman MFC1 Plus, I've got 3 fans at 25% most of the time and the other 3 at about 60% so there is some noise, no big.
All together, yes all my fans can make a bit of noise (<35dB) at full speed, but it's mostly air noise and not fan noise, just the way I like it.

Very Happy
Pros: This fan is great, its very quiet and moves a lot of air.
Cons: Depth is more than standard 120mm fans
Other Thoughts: Best case fans you can get for the money when comparing air flow and noise.

Pretty Good
Pros: Good air flow. When putting mesh-screen and used as intake fan, this fan comes through. Other pricey 25mm fan flow is reducted by 80-90%, but this 38mm still keeps good air flow!!!!
Cons: SilenX db claims are ridicules, multiply by a factor of 2.5 to compare better to other fans.
Other Thoughts: Highly recommend 38mm fan when pushing/pulling through a filter/grill. (Remove exhaust grills where possible!) I found it amazing how much the little wire grills foul up air flow - test it yourself!!!

best fan ever
Pros: Excellent product, at full blast-still very quite and moves lots of air! would buy more/again!
Cons: none yet
Other Thoughts: It was a good replacement for a big fat noisy PAPST fan

Cool & Quiet
Pros: Moves LOTS of air, therefore keeping my computer cool and REALLY quiet, when installed properly. When used in conjunction with the SilenX IXP-52-11 blowing on the back of my motherboard CPU location, the CPU temperature dropped a total of 5C.
Cons: Not really a con so much as I didn't fully read the specifications. This is a 120 x 120 x 38mm fan and I read it as a 25mm, this made it much to fat to be anything but an exhaust fan for me.
When I tried to install it as a top fan in my tower, it either pushed against the IO or the CPU fan plug on the motherboard. I couldn't attach it to my case when it pushed against the IO and when it pushed on the CPU fan plug, it made this awful buzzing noise.
Again my fault for not reading the specifications properly. I meant to get the SilenX IXP-74-14 and not the SilenX IXP-74-18.

This is Junk
Pros: It is quiet
Cons: Its quiet because it barely works if ever and comes with no instructions not that you should really need them but there are people out there. The fan almost never turned on i had to actually use a pencil and start it spinning on its own to get it going.. Very low rpms even with board set to full speed.. died in less than 3 days
Other Thoughts: if it wouldnt have died in such a fast amount of time and worked to specs probably would have bought another btu such a fast failure rate for the most expensive fan on the site ...

Pros: I think it's quite enough with lots of air, I will buy this item again when needed.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: FYI this is not your standard 120mm x 25. This a 38mm it's beefy so guys make sure you have enoough room before buying this one.

Great fans.
Pros: These are very nice fans. From the bearing solution to the sound output. They are capable of making noise , but its not mechanical noise or vibration related. Its simply the air that is being moved. The nice thing is with these is the blade depth and pitch. These will move more air at lower rpms with MUCH less sound output per cfm than say compared to the antec 120's. Currently running 6 of these inside a Coolermaster atcs840. Connected them to a Zalman Mcs1 plus 6 channel and voila! Superior Air Cooling. 3 x 230mm + 6 of these. Whisper Quiet for movie time or the sound of a lot of air keeping my components very happy when game time hits.
Tip o'the day - Dynamat is your friend :) Quiet fans + Quiet vibration/sound dampened chassis = Happy camper.
Cons: None. Possibly price but you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: They have a Titanium paint finish , almost dark pewter. Something to keep in mind if they will be seen.

Good performance and value
Pros: Reasonable cost, quiet*, decent airflow (see my stupidity below). Can plug in directly to MB w/ 3 pin plug or use 3 pin to 4 pin molex adapter supplied. Comes w/ 4 screws and 4 silicone dampers.
Newegg rocketed the standard 3 day delivery as usual. Best in the business.
* As noted by others here, you hear the airflow. The fan itself is very quiet. It's much quieter and more powerful than the 80mm unit it replaced.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I bought this with an Evercool 80mm cross flow fan (to fill an empty drive bay) to resurrect an older Windows 98 machine w/ DFI LanParty NF3, Athlon 64 3200+ with a big Zalman cooler, and a 480W Thermaltake adjustable fan PS. I replaced a cheap 80mm side fan with this one after enlarging the intake hole. I also disabled the rear 80mm fan until I can find a better quality unit.
With the Evercool & PS fans on low, my BIOS is showing system temps at idle with 26 degree ambient around 30-31 degrees, which is about a 3 degree drop from the prior setup with a lot less noise.
I was initially disappointed when I plugged it in to the MB to test it w/ the side cover off. It did not seem to be putting out any noticeable airflow. While testing it in place, I realized my BIOS had temperature settings to control the case fan (I had not done anything with this PC in over a year since building a newer one) and once I set these to make it come on, it ran at full speed.

Great Design
Pros: Quiet,,the guys tweaked this one real well with the bearings. Some of the goofs complaining about this fan being loud are complaining about the sound from the TON of air that this fan moves. ( not going to get into a lecture on aerodynamics here)
Cons: None. NO complaints. If you think this is loud, get a li'l bird dingie fan with a 20 CFM rating. It will be quiet i promise!
Other Thoughts: Am an aero engineer. This is the best deal you can get when it comes to a ton of CFM and peace of mind. Mount it with the silicon mounts provided. I've owned nasty fans that sound like a sickening propeller from the 40s...that some goofs might that think were good.

Awesome CFM to noise ratio!
Pros: It moves a tremendous amount of air with little noise. It comes with silicone composite mounts which are quite useful. The fan works as stated.
Cons: N/A
Other Thoughts: Worth every penny I paid for them (bought two). If noise is not important to you, there is no point in buying this fan. Bought them to replace the super loud fans the G4 MDD Mac I recently acquired to familiarize myself with the Mac world. Works just fine and temperatures are within the acceptable range. With these, I was finally able to hear the HD inside the Mac. I am extremely happy with my new fans!

Not bad
Pros: EVERYTHING on this fan is a pro, with the one exception of the color. But I'll be using it on my Swiftech MCR120 radiator which means the color well... Means nothing to me.
Cons: People who say it's too expensive..!
Get with the game people. The package read: "The best CFM to Db sound ratio" and I have to sit here and say I agree with it. I don't know anywhere else you can get 72CFM out of just 14db of noise; or even the 18db of noise for 90CFM on this one! Stop whining; you ARE getting what you paid for!
Other Thoughts: I'm just stating the obvious in the cons section; you seriously can't disagree that it pushes air and it does it quietly. Therefore, it's well worth the $23 I just paid for it.

Decent fan
Pros: a) Good performer, pushes lots of air. Not silent for this reason, but doesn't seem to have a mehcanical noise. b) Silicon mounts are quite useful. c) Right shape of a fan. d) Failure rate not higher than others. For example out of six SlienX fans (set of different models) five still run flawlessly after ~26000 hours of continuous load (I used then not for PC).
Cons: a) Overpriced. b) Non-standard measurement of noise level, which misleads unfamiliar buyer. c) "Chrome" look, which gives nothing but extra add-up to the price.
Other Thoughts: Nothing for now.

Pros: Moves a good amount of air, pretty quiet at 1,000rpm and under, at that point my other 1,000rpm case fans by far drown it out. No LED's, comes with rubber fan rivets.
Cons: Bit loud at full speed, but mine runs at almost 1,700rpm, not the 1,400rpm listed. The "chrome" look I could do without, just give me a good basic black fan someone! Last, and without a doubt not least is PRICE! These things are not gold people, come on!
Other Thoughts: I will be picking up a 2nd for a push/pull set up on my HS, but that's it, far to much for use as case fans, to many other cheaper and just as good fans for use in the case.

Not worth the time of install
Pros: None. Will not buy SilenX product in the future.
Cons: 50% failure rate. 3/6 broke after 9 month. Fan bearing completely stuck so fan won't even move when you try to spin it with your finger.
Other Thoughts: SilenX's manufacture spec is highly suspicious. Fan although quieter than OEM, is even quieter when it broke ;) Scary part is none of our users reported this until we actually open up their cases for another reason. So if you installed one of these check them periodically.

Where is it?
Pros: don't know yet
Cons: I ordered this 6 days ago and still don't have it. I usually have great service from Newegg when shipping is free.
Other Thoughts: Beware, where ever this is shipping out of, if you live in the mid-atlantic area, not only are you paying roughly ~40% of the retail value in postage but you're going to have to wait an entire week!

Not bad
Pros: I normally use Scythe fans exclusively because they are reliable and relatively noise free. This fan is decent -- it's not silent by any means (it moves a lot of air, so of course it makes some noise) but it doesn't vibrate or seem to have any mechanical noise. Included silicon mounts are pretty nice too.
Cons: dBA is higher than what is listed on the box. Most fan manufacturers lie about it though, so this is no surprise. Fan is expensive for what you get... it's just a plastic fan.
Other Thoughts: Lack of mechanical noise/whine is really good, but long term reliability remains to be seen.

It -IS- quiet
Pros: Quiet, moves tons of air, quiet, moves tons of air.
Cons: Thick
Other Thoughts: For all the people who are complaining of noise, what did you expect this fan to do? It's not the fan that makes the noise, it's the air it pushes. I'm sure we're all familiar with wind, and the sound it makes, that's all this thing is. It's moving so much air that it makes sound, you can't find a silent fan that moves almost 100 CFM of air, it's not physically possible.

Great fan
Pros: Moves a bunch of air. This replaced my old exhaust fan, which was not dumping the hot air fast enough. After replacing the old one, my core temps dropped 4C. If you overclock your machine, you're going to need something like this to push out all the hot air your processor will generate. To the people claiming it's a jet engine, you guys must be trying to achieve 0Db computing. It is not loud at all, considering the amount of air it pushes.
Cons: None for me, it's exactly what I needed it to do. Expensive.
Other Thoughts: If you can afford it, do it. To everyone claiming its loud, trying investing in some sound dampening material and line your case with it. It works wonders.

Whoosh - loud
Pros: Moves a lot of air. Rubber ("silicone") mounting plugs that you can use in place of screws are great - they really do reduce vibration noise - if you could hear any above this racket of the fan itself.
Cons: Super loud. Not suitable for anyone with working ears. Definitely not for any applications with audio considerations. Fan is much thicker than most at 38mm vs 25 for others. This is probably to accommodate the deep scoops that it uses as blades.
Other Thoughts: I could'nt stand the noise of this fan for more than 30minutes. I removed the fan but kept the rubber mounting plugs for use with a different fan. This fan really moves air but best used in a server in a closet away from human hearing. Don't even think of this for an A/V setup.

Good Airflow w/ Decent Noise Level
Pros: High airflow with low noise rating. Come with silicon noise dampening 'screws'.
Cons: I can hear the air moving through my case (Cosmos S). I didn't realize how thick these would be. The Cosmos S is designed so that you can put 3 120mm fans in a nice compartment on top of the case, however these fans were too thick to put there, however they did mount inside the top of the case. This brings me to my next con because the fans were hanging from the top of the case (I believe this is the reason) they make an incredibly annoying vibrating noise. I'm almost certain that this is either caused by the fans vibrating together or the fact that in the Cosmos S the fans were meant to me mounted in the compartment outside the top of the case (Where they are raised off the case) instead of inside the case (Where they touch the case and cause it to vibrate). This is why I gave it a 4 star rating.
Other Thoughts: Fans are much thicker than normal, make sure that they will fit where you want to put them. If you are putting several fans together or if you have several fans pressed up against the case be aware that it may cause and annoying vibrating sound.

Pros: Silence, great airflow.
Cons: Wasn't strong enough for my needs. But it is the quietest you will get atm with its airflow.

Pros: Powerful, quiet enough, looks great.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Many people have been upset with these fans. It seems to me their expectations may be high. These fans work great for me. I spun them up outside of my case as some people complained that they spit oil on first spin. To be honest I couldn't hear anything but a woosh. The fans wouldn't even stand on their own because they kept blowing over. When I set one against my heatsink, they seemed to get louder as the air crashed into the heatsink. Loved them, will buy again.

90cfm.
Pros: high CFM. low Rpm's 3pin to 4 pin. recyclable lol yes they are...
Cons: a little louder the rated whips air threw blade so they get louder then case says.. too thick edges & fan. bought three all a kaze master panel & one is not running like the other two. :(
Other Thoughts: I'd really like to see someone make counter rotating 120mm case fans but only if they're at 20mm thick would be nice. My panel seem to boost thier speed to above 1,600 rpms. but even at low rpm like 1,000 you can still hear them

A Jet Engine for Your Computer
Pros: Well, it does move a lot of air.
Cons: This fan sounds like a jet engine. This is in no way a 'Silent' fan by any means. 18db rating is by far far far far and away incorrect. Lasted in the computer for less than a day before it was replaced by a different fan.
Other Thoughts: I will not be buying this fan again, and I recommend looking elsewhere for future potential buyers.

Not worth it
Pros: It is very quiet. Moves a lot of air.
Cons: It lasted about a year. The bearing locked up and the fan is dead.
Other Thoughts: This fan is more expensive than comparable fans and quality is lacking. It seems to have a spray paint finish that rubbed off one of the blades. The wire coming from the fan is short. The space between the blades and the housing is vary small, could cause problems. The FDB bearing which they brag about seems to have a short lifespan. Since my fan has no obstruction and the blades are not hitting the sides. I can turn the fan by hand but it is clear the bearing is bad.

I like the concept...
Pros: Moves a LOT of air and is pretty quiet about it.
Cons: It's HUGE!!! I couldn't fit this in my case and was going to send it back, but I used it on my A/V cabinet. It ran nicely for a bit then started making an annoying buzzing noise all the time. I just replaced it with a Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F. It may not move as much air but it's pretty quiet and it won't die on me.
Other Thoughts: I am not the only one to have this problem and if SilenX could ever fix it, they would have a superior product. I feel like a beta tester.....

Great!
Pros: Great Fan, Move a c-r-a-p load of air with almost no noise. Slightly more then my stock coolermaster case fans, but not a big deal.
Cons: Slightly wider then normal fans, no big deal.

Silent? Uh, is it running?
Pros: After I installed the fan, I had to check to be sure it was really running. Very quiet, yet I can feel the airflow. CPU stays at around 30c.
Cons: Thick. had to break off one corner to make it fit in my SFF case, but didn't hurt the functionality.
Other Thoughts: Microfly case, Ultra 500wPS. Diamond 5.1 sound, RS482-M784 mobo AMD 64 3.2g, 2g Corsair XMS, Belkin wireless, Segate Barracuda 500g. 2 12"uv, LiteOn DVDR. Tight quarters, but stays COOL.

Pros: I upgraded the CPU, HDDs, RAM, and PSU when I installed this and the system runs 5-10*F cooler than pre-upgrade. I've been using this in an over clocked box used mostly for video editing--which frequently runs at 110% load for up to 6 hours at a time, and often stays running for days at a time. Also, this fan did *not* add to my over-all noise level at all, and it seems very well built--no scraping or misalignment.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: tl;dr: It may not have all the bells and whistles (or LEDs) but this fan keeps my system cool under sustained high load and at low dBs.

Excellent fans
Pros: Excellent fans, quiet, move a very good amount of air.
Cons: None (especially since they are 10dollars less now)
Other Thoughts: To all the dummies that say they click and on and on...Keep wires and other things out of the way of the blades... Also the blade is close to the housing so if you mount it crooked it will rub. Install the product the RIGHT way....

Loud Tapping Noise
Pros: looks cool
Cons: Running normally it isn't super quiet like they claim. However, after a few hours of being on, the fan blades start to barely hit the edge of the fan casing. Unbearably loud. Also, this is seriously overpriced for a case fan.
Other Thoughts: don't buy this product. i wish i listened to the other reviewers before buying this.

Expensive fans....BUT they don't hold up
Pros: Good design, Good airflow. Good concept. BUT...
Cons: I have had 3 of these fail in customers computers after less than 1 year. The same symptoms.... wobbly shaft - then the blade hits the inner rim....This is unacceptable for the price they cost. I will no longer buy SilenX again until they prove reliable.
Other Thoughts: Not as quiet as they suggest. I think those db ratings are under ideal conditions and optomistic.

Amazing Fan!!
Pros: Where to begin... OK First, properly used these fans are SILENT just like the manufacturer says!! (meaning, using either rubber fan silencers or rubber screws) I even replaced the fans in my Koolance liquid cooler with these due to their silence factor! second...I can FEEL the airflow of these fans! I have 3 as intake and 3 exhaust and SILENCE!!!!
Cons: Absolutely NONE
Other Thoughts: Had 1 fail in the first few months of operation, contacted silenx and got a BRAND NEW replacement THE NEXT DAY!!! and they didn't even request that i sent the broken one in! these fans MUST be mounted PROPERLY or the decibal rating IS higher, don't mount these like any normal fan people!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! also, please pay attention to the specs!!! this is a fatter fan at 38mm compared to the normal 25mm, basically a server-grade fan!

Pros: nice looking fans, that are indeed quiet while pushing alot of air.
Cons: i'm not sure if they live up to the manufacturer specs, but if they don't they are very close. my only real complaint is that the fan power cable is TINY. if you're not careful, you can easily break the cable. and its so small that you'll have a tough time repairing it.
Other Thoughts: although they have gotten mixed reviews, they work fine for me, and my overclocked, aircooled system runs very cool. i'll check back in a year from now and let you know how well they hold up over time.

AWESOME FAN
Pros: moves massive amounts of air, and is the quietest fan in my case
Cons: only one sorta, this fan is nearly twice as thick as the regular fans...i didnt mind, i have room to spare, but check your case before buying
Other Thoughts: price is a little higher than i liked to pay for a fan..but it was worth it...im gonna buy three more

DARN SKIPPY
Pros: Its worth every penny.. It has massive airflow, (blow my hair around) and I can't hear the motor of the fan...!!
Cons: none that I know of
Other Thoughts: Its FAT (38mm vs 25mm "usual") so watch where you're going to put it. Sleek Design, looks like a turbine, I'm not using a grille because I want to see it!

Pros: Moves a decent amount of air. The rubber posts to mount the fan are a great idea!
Cons: As others have said, this fan isn't 18 decibels at all! Currently one of the loudest fans in my case.
Other Thoughts: I took a gamble at the time I bought this fan, as it didn't have any reviews then. I suppose that's the risk you take when Newegg adds a new product (not so new now). So buyer beware! Don't be fooled by many of SilenX's low decibel ratings.

Noise Level??
Pros: Awesome air flow, it does the job more than expected
Cons: I highly doubt that noise level is 18 dbA. It is more like around 30 dbA. I can hear these fans noise over my cpu "max speed" fan. (zalman 9500 fan is pretty loud, 28 dbA)
Other Thoughts: I would've rated this 5 eggs if they didn't make the false statement on noise levels. Overall, it does it's job really well.

Excellent product
Pros: These are very quiet and efficient fans.
Cons: Even though these newer SilenX 120x38mm fans have higher static pressure ratings than previous models, they still don't seem to measure up to the highest static pressure case/cpu/etc. fans, but they are very good for how quiet they are. I only wish that these could go faster, like 2000+ RPM, because the faster they go, the higher the static pressure.
Be careful when thinking of where to mount these fans: as with any fan that pushes significant amounts of air, if they are very close to large obstacles, it will make much more air-turbulence noise than if they are isolated. Also, vibration from the fan can cause significant noise if not properly mounted, either with silicone screws or rubber grommets, etc., or especially if it is just screwd [sic] in loosely without any rubber/silicone/etc.
Other Thoughts: These fans use fluid dynamic bearings, which have a layer of fluid around them so they don't actually touch metal while the fan is going. Too bad they aren't air bearings, though.
Low static-air pressure fans don't work as well when they have to fight against obstacles close to them or against heavy air pressure, so since these are (I would say) medium static air pressure, to get the full air flow (cfm) you would have to isolate them and have the same air pressure in the case as outside. It may help to have one of these for intake, and one for exhaust, as they will help each other get closer to their full airflow capability. You should try to have neutral (the same as outside PC) air pressure in your PC case, while maintaining good airflow, so your fans don't have to struggle against positive or negative pressure.
P.S.-I purposely misspelled 'screwd' because NewEgg's web page wouldn't let me post with the correctly-spelled version.

Pros: lots of airflow
Cons: Big, is much thicker then most 120mm fans, so it will not install in many spots
Other Thoughts: noise is not that bad, no worse then other large 120mm fans and certainly better than many of them. People who complain about 20dB of noise from a case fan are idiots, IF YOUR EARS ARE THAT SENSITIVE, WATER COOL!

Moves quite a bit of air but louder than stated
Pros: At full RPM this fan moves a lot of air. But it's also LOUD. Like about any other fan though - at lower RPM is very quiet. At around 700 RPM (half speed) it's all but noiseless.
Cons: Over-stated dBA figures make this product useless where low noise level at full RPM is important. 18dBA noise figure is simply not true at 1400 RPM. It's because Silenx uses a non-standard noise measuring technique resulting in artificially low numbers. They measure noise at 1m from each of the 3 axes then take an average. The result is that when set side by side with other fans with much higher rated noise levels - Silenx fans are actually louder.
Other Thoughts: I used this fan for CPU cooling in my HTPC. For this particular application - it works great. Motherboard controls the fan so it shuts down completely at idle. At low load it spins at around 700 RPM which does not generate any perceptible noise. Should the system start heating up however - this fan is capable of plenty of air flow to cool things down. So far - full RPM has yet to be required. There are other fans that would probably do the job just as well but I wanted to try Silnx products for myself. I now know they are essentially not worth the extra cost. They very well may have "industry's best" noise to RPM ratio. But that doesn't make them quiet. Silenx needs to provide real noise figures because false claims will only result in negative reviews from disappointed customers.

Quiet, good airflow
Pros: In an anechoic chamber, this is 2 to 3 dB quieter at 6" than any fan I've measured. A frequency analysis showed less midrange and above energy than its competitors, which explains why it sounds quiet and innofensive.
Cons: Measures 3cfm lower than its spec. No big deal as many fans measure 5 or more cfm low.
Other Thoughts: Ovewrpriced but the best quiet high flow fan out.

Don't buy this fan
Pros: Quiet up to 1100RPM. It's loud beyond that.
Cons: 1. There is no way this is 90CFM at max speed. Panaflo 76CFM fan is MUCH stronger.
2. There is no way this is 18db at 1400RPM. It's much louder. I would say it's 25-30db, but didn't measure this.
3. There is alot of turbulence/air choppiness behind the fan when using this for an exhaust fan. Choppiness is on the intake side of the fan, not the exhaust side. I've never encountered this with any other fan in the same physical location, and this seems to indicate fan blade inefficiency (as well as more noise potential). 4. The included rubber fan mounts don't really help. In fact, in my case, these caused some slight vibration sound, because some part of the fan was vibrating against the case due to the tiny gab created by the grommet effect. It seems you need silicon buffer to surround the entire fan surface area for this to work. I ended up just screwing the fan down tightly to the case, without the included rubber mounts -- no fan vibration noise in this case.
Other Thoughts: Most importantly, this fan was inadequate compared to the panaflo when used for the CPU fan in my system. I use a thermalright 120 extreme. Using speedfan, I compared prime95 results of the SilenX vs. the panaflo fan, in my 3.6ghz OC'd q6700. Temps with the panaflo were 63-65C, whereas they were 70-74C with the SilenX (which didn't produce stable prime95 torture test results). The panaflo fan was much better at cooling, and was not noticably louder. There may be even better alternatives than the panaflo now (Scythe?)
Bottom line, don't buy this fan.

Worst fan ever...
Pros: pfff none...
Cons: Bought 4 of these for my case.. running them at anything over 7 volts will make the motor rattle like crazy, creating TONS of noise. I have a 800 rpm Scythe S-Flex fan, that operates at a legitimate 8db push MORE air than this fan at 12v.
Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THESE FANS!
the ratings on these fans are terrible, they take the db from when the fan is at 5v and the cfm from the fan at 12v, and slap that on the packaging.

Not worth the price
Pros: Running at 12 volts with the 4 pin molex adapter, still very quiet.
Cons: Material seems very cheap. Ordered a Scythe Minebea Slient IC fan at the same time with the Silenx. Both seem to blow the same amount of air even know the Scythe is rated for a lot less CFM. The Silenx fan ran about two days now it's dead.
Other Thoughts: Just don't think it's worth the money. Not even near the rated CFM on the box. Only bought this fan because it was 120mm by 38mm which is what I need. I guess spending more doesn't always get you better quality.

Awesome.
Pros: Awesome fan if you want to spend the cash, I have a coolermaster 832? I believe, and I have 3 of these in the side panel (the 4th slot has a cpu heatsink in the way, and 1 in the top, back and front of the case. no problems with noise.
Cons: I recieved 1 DOA, but not a problem RMA'ing it.
Other Thoughts: They are a tad bit thicker than the standard size case fan, but moves more air. They fit fine in my case, but for smaller more compact cases I'd make sure they'll fit.

Looks good on paper..
Pros: The fan's spec sheet looks very impressive almost making it worth the high cost.
Cons: The fan does not perform as advertised. The noise levels, without obstructions, are closer to 30+ dBA and it's airflow is closer to 75 CFM. Several reviews on the web have confirmed my suspicions about their grossly overstated specs.
Other Thoughts: This fan carries a price premium (overpriced) which would be acceptable if it performed as advertised. When you consider the fact that the specs are wrong, you could easily buy a cheaper fan that will perform equal or better than this one.

Good Fan...but not as good as claimed...
Pros: It certainly yields a very high airflow as claimed - can feel a pretty big difference compared to my other 120mm fans || It is a very nice looking fan in my opinion
Cons: eye poppin price for a fan... || definitely not as quiet as advertised...you gotta be like 20m away for it to be 18dBa || from where I'm sitting it's probably something more like 24-26 dBa
Other Thoughts: Note: This is a 38mm thick fan rather than the standard 25mm thick | I would recommend the 60cfm version for users desiring quiet operation | This 90cfm one will only do for gamers and power users
This fan probably has one of "The world's best noise-to-airflow ratio" but is certainly a little above my "quiet" range...If you are willing to pay up though and can endure a little bit of noise then this fan should certainly be considered as an option

Pros: Brought my computer down 3-4 degrees celcius. Runs quite even useing standard screws not the rubber mounts that come with the fan.
Cons: none really only a tight fit on my case for the fan.
Other Thoughts: had next day service as normal from new egg.

Pros: Silent, flows more air than any other fan I have found with far less db
Cons: If your case does not free flow air the fan will become very loud (as will any fan), and will not flow muich air (air leaving the case must enter somewhere)
Other Thoughts: My case had very small holes for air to flow through on the fan mount but had many air entrances, I drilled the fan grill holes on my case as large as possible and the fan is silent. No need for fan speed controller!! My internal case temp stays at room temp (74F) not even 1 degF difference internal/external

Quiet
Pros: Quiet fan. I cannot hear it over the CPU fan.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I replace a fan that was running at 2400 rpm and sounded like a plane. At 1600 rpm's this fan doesn't move as much air, but the system is at 31C which is good enough for me.

Pros: This fan moves a lot of air.
Cons: The 18 db claim is not accurate. I ran this fan next to my Antec fan set to the lowest of three settings at 30db. The Antec fan ran quieter then the Silenx fan. I've resorted to a 7v mod to bring the noise level down to a respectable level.
Other Thoughts: Definately not worth the money. I paid top dollar expecting a superior product. This fan is not what I expected. The amount of air it pushes is superb though, hence the 3 rating.

Eh.
Pros: Goes great with a THERMALRIGHT|SI-128. Cools quite well and moves a LOT of air.
Cons: Thing is loud as a chainsaw at full speed. I had to get a speed controller as it is a 3 pin connector and the fan speed could not be controlled by the mobo.
Other Thoughts: Its taller then most standard fans... so keep that in mind and measure your case first.

awesome fan
Pros: blows lots of air, is very quiet, also is neat looking (not that that even matters)
Cons: slightly thick, but it's ok because I've got plenty of room
Other Thoughts: I wish this company made some larger fans to cool off my room

Strong and Quiet Cooling...for a Price
Pros: My review on the IXP-74-14 says all that need be said for my purchase of it and this model of SilenX fans, so I'll be more brief here and say I'm very pleased with the volume of air moved by these fans while being very quiet fans indeed. Silent? I can't tell, because my graphics card fan drowns them out! ha! But yes, they seem to be virtually silent once installed. I use this fan for a case exhaust and the thinner SilenX fan for as a heatsink fan on a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, and am seeing very good cooling results with this combination. I wish I had found these before my initial purchase of an Enlobal fan when I first built my system. The Enlobal is surpremely quiet but careful mounting is needed to avoid any off-balance rattles. For only a slightly louder fan, the SilenX provides much greater airflow than the Enlobal.
Cons: Price. That's really about all, although I'd like to see a better design of vibration-damping mounting plugs provided, akin to what my Gigabyte chassis used with the orignal fan, but which were too short to secure this 38mm thick fan.

Not too good
Pros: It is quiet. Moves a fair amount of air
Cons: Its expensive. It doesn't push the air strait out. For its price it thought it would be much better. My stock fan moves more air than it and is just a little louder

Serious airflow.
Pros: Moves massive amounts of air. Fits fine in my P180 case. Temp dropped about 4-6 degrees celcius.
Cons: Little louder then i thought.
Other Thoughts: THIS IS A 38MM FAN, AVERAGE CASE FANS ARE 25mm, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SPACE!

Glad Newegg finally has SilenX
Pros: Absolutely a pleasure to work with. I have been using these fans for a long time now and I am really glad Newegg has them (saves me a bunch of time hunting for them) These fans Mod beautifully, blow a very good amount of air and are very quiet.
Cons: None

WOW!!
Pros: Put this fan in my tj09 last night as an exhaust fan. Dropped my system temps from 3-5C. Incredible air flow increase, very quiet (18dBA) for the amount of air it moves.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: The only think to consider is this fan is 38mm compared to most fans that are 25mm thick, check first to make sure it fits where you want it.
