Rating + 5 Very nice sound.

Pros: Not being an audiophile, I can tell you that these speakers do the job very well.

I use it to listen to my playlists and gaming, quality for the dollar is very nice if you're looking for an alternate option to the more expensive speakers.

Cons: There's distortion on the bass if you turn it on too loud, but there's also a very nice sweetspot.

Rating + 5 Good Value Speakers

Pros: These speakers produce excellent sound for their price. I am just using my motherboard's on board audio, and they (the speakers) still sound fantastic!

I use the speakers for in-game sound and use my headset for communication over Ventrilo.

Cons: Nothing bad to mention.

Other Thoughts: Save some money and get these speakers.

Rating + 4 Good for the price point

Pros: The satellite speakers of this system have the best sound I've heard at this price point. The system is compact and light: the subwoofer takes up minimal space. The subwoofer has an independent volume knob, allowing you to adjust the LFE level.

Cons: The subwoofer has a relatively high crossover point. The subwoofer itself is fairly small, and thus lacks the true "thump" of the larger subs you find at higher price points, such as that of the Logitech Z-2300.

What this means in simple terms is that the subwoofer tends to give a very boomy sound. Because of the high crossover point of the subwoofer, human voices often fall into the audio range of the subwoofer, which makes dialogue often difficult to understand. This can be remedied by turning the volume of the subwoofer down.

Other Thoughts: My Home Theater system uses the Logitech Z-5500 system. I bought this set to use in my bedroom, on my gaming computer. It fulfills its purpose well as a set for a bedroom - the poor performance of the subwoofer is largely overshadowed by the excellent performance of the satellites in such a small space. If you want excellent, crisp bass, though, consider investing in a more powerful system with a larger subwoofer (that has a lower LFE crossover point). I have not found anything better than this set at this price point, however.

Pros: good looking and great sound for the money.best speakers under $50

Cons: i've had these for 2 years now and the only problem i had was that the cable from right speaker to the sub falls out sometimes and they turn off..also the sub has an ok sound, could be better

Other Thoughts: when im gaming at night and its dark the bright blue light on right speaker is kind of annoying..hehe

Rating + 5 WOW

Pros: ...Where to start? RICH sound, perfect balance. Bass is appropriately louder in deeper tones, but is otherwise a rich, relaxing depth to the sound. The satellite speakers have a crisp sound and don't shreak at the high notes.

Cons: ...it isn't 7.1?

Other Thoughts: For $50, this is the best value for your money

Rating + 3 Great while they work

Pros: Some of the best sounding 2.1 speakers I've heard.

Cons: About half a year after I got them, they started making stack noise every once in a while. The problem remained for a couple of days and then went away. Then about a year later the problem came back, except worse. Now about 2/3 of the time that I turn them on they have the static problem.

Other Thoughts: I have a friend that owns these speakers as well (for about half a year so far). He started having the same problem as I did a year ago. Don't expect these speakes to last.

Tech Level: somewhat high
Ownership: more than 1 year

Rating + 5 Great for the price.

Pros: The sound are crisp and the bass is solid. The satellite speakers have both mid-range speakers and tweeters. They also have the ability to be mounted to a wall or used on a desktop. The bass kicks, more than I thought it would. I don't actually turn the bass up to 100%... it does the job at about 60%.

Cons: The cord lengths are too short. Adding about 4 feet to the satellite speakers would be nice.

The sub-woofer kicks hard enough that it hits the mesh cover (which protects the speaker). This causes the sub-woofer to buzz. The problem can be easily remedied by removing the mesh cover. I did this with a flat head screwdriver with ease. It has standard pegs so it can be put back on if desired.

Other Thoughts: For a $50 price, this is a great product.

Rating + 5 Good enough for an easy chair

Pros: Small and inconspicuous, but still sound good. Easy to adjust balance between sub and sats

Cons: just a nit. The wires to each speaker could be longer, but I'm quibbling as these REALLY are designed for a typical computer desk setup.

Other Thoughts: I placed these around the lazy-boy for those times when I don't need to keep the whole house awake cranking music or catching a movie. Got tired of using headphones

Pros: CHEEEEEP! clean sound, small footprint. Ive had mine for
about a year now and I am very happy with them. I game
with them mostly, but I do play some music and find them to be clean sounding. and so far (1 year) they sound as good as the day I got them

Cons: mid range is just ok as is the bass but cheeeeeeze they
only cost like 50 smacks a year ago.

Rating + 4 Decent Speakers

Pros: I like how this speakers sound. For the price, I knew I wasnt gonna get the quality from my Z-5500, but this speakers didnt dissapoint me. Some cons though

Cons: Subwoofer is kinda small. If you go higher than 50% bass and put any bassy song, the music distorts. Kinda surprised that happened but the overall bass is good for such small speakers/tweeters.

Other Thoughts: Propietary connectors are annoying at some point, but I can live with that.
Wish the subwoofer was a little bigger, oh well. If you need speakers on a computer that will be for your parents or for your kids, this should do the work fine. Oh yeah, they get loud if you want too :) (just not that bassy)

Rating + 5 Great Price

Pros: Great sound for a middle of the road speaker system

Cons: Cables are a little short but still useable

Other Thoughts: I bought these speakers for my Dad's PC which is a basic setup with some multimedia play. I see some here complaining about low bass and such but remember these are "Middle of the road" speakers for around $50.

I myself am a gamer so I use creatives P8000 "High End" which cost over $100 with an XFi card that was over $150. For the average user and average gamers these speakers are great. If your an extream gamer...you'll need more options like 7.1 surround sound..etc...but you'll need to pay extra for that.

These speakers are quite nice for the price.

Rating + 4 Quality Speakers for Their Price

Pros: -Good build quality (look modern, feel sturdy, etc.)
-Produce great sound (music, movies, and gaming)
-Take up little desk space
-Bass is good for the price
-When paired with a discrete sound card, it sounds even better!

Cons: -Some will probably want a deep bass sound, but I found it of good quality for my apartment, but I could see this being a gripe for a few audiophiles.
-Nothing else

Pros: Great Bass, great sound. Fast shipping as always NewEgg!

Cons: Whenever I move my feet under the desk it taps the wire, and every time the wire is tapped no matter how light the motion is...the speakers make a loud annoying sound that sounds like the speakers are going out. Sometimes they even turn on until I move my feet.

Rating + 3 1 works, 1 is broken

Pros: We bought 2 sets and the ones that didn't break work great as the other folks are saying here.

Cons: One of the ones that we bought just broke, after about 5 months of fairly mild use, now I'm hearing ugly crackling.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure what could be causing the crackling, but we do have cats, and the cords the speakers some with are fairly... chewable... so maybe it's the cats.

Rating + 5 Best for TV

Pros: I like the duel volume controls, the range is good, the base is good if its not turned up all the way. The sound very good on the TV.

Cons: Like others have said these speakers would be better if the cords were longer, because they sound better when seperated and they could stand to be seperated farther than the cords will allow.

Other Thoughts: I tried these on the TV for sound and the computer for music. I like them much better for the TV. I will probly buy something else for music. Got these from WalMart on line, $5 cheaper .97c shipping, sorry Newegg, but thought you might like to know.

Pros: I swear im stealing these guys for the price 50$! Clean sound, nice and loud. Bass is Top notch, this is a definate steal, its like having a movie theater sound system in your room. Good for small rooms and apartments.

Cons: Don't Like the cable design, i kinda bent the pins for the right speaker. i wish the bass was on all 3 sides instead of 2 or at least 1 on the right side since my pc is under my desk on my right,

Rating + 5 Good Set

Pros: For the money, this system sounds great. The speakers are decent looking on top of my desk and seem pretty well built. The subwoofer adds a lot of bass to the system and it's decent for playing music. The controls are sturdy and don't feel too cheap. Doesn't have a large AC adapter, just a plug - nice when trying to fit many items on your PDU.

Cons: I don't like the proprietary cable design and no way to change left to right speaker and only right speaker has a volume control. Subwoofer is slightly large for the output it produces.

Other Thoughts: I'm no audiophile and I rarely listen to my music turned up very loud, but overall I think the sound quality is very good for this price.

Rating + 5 Price is amazing for this quality!

Pros: Crisp sound, Bass extremely good, Quality great even at higher volumes.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This product is amazing for the low price that NewEgg offers. I would recommend this to buyers who do not want to spend a large amount of money on a quality sound system. This system is also great for people who want a quality, compact sound system for their home, apartment, dorm, etc. Overall a great product. Enjoy!

Rating + 4 Very Nice!

Pros: You will hear musical details that you never knew existed. These speakers are excellent for medium and low level listening. Sharp crisp details, small footprint.

Cons: Base connects to the bottom of the speaker poorly, and comes loose if you knock them over. Bass boost adjustment is on the subwoofer (back). Not good choice for bassheads.

Other Thoughts: These speakers play pretty loud but not enough to satisfy someone who likes to turn up the bass. If you want very loud music pass on this set and spend twice as much, but if you just want room filling good clean sound this is a very good choice. I have a Set of 180 watt Cyber Acoustics to satisfy on hardcore beats, and these for general everyday listening. I personnaly was impressed by thier sound. which says a lot from a 45 year old sound junky! My computers are the only thing I listen to that doesnt have at least 1000 wattsand three way speakers.

Pros: While it looks impressive the Creative "Inspire" T3100 does not inspire.

Cons: Sound is middle of the road quality with mid level sound coming in muddled and I found I had to set the volume somewhat high just to hear the sound with the sound clearly. I had better sound from my Logitech speakers that cost about 50.00. If you really want to have good sound try something else otherwise this unit will do for basic sound.

Other Thoughts: Tried these speakers with my Creative X-Fi Xreame card.

Rating + 5 Great setup, but....

Pros: Overall great sound for price. Crisp highs, tight bass response, easy to manage, and great looks.

Cons: Bass level control on Sub (have to dive under desk to adjust), not enough mid-range, volume knob on speaker instead of remote, no RCA cable input/adapter.

Other Thoughts: I have had the T3100 for about 2 years now, and they still sound great, but not enough. I actually bought the T3100 to use with my laptop at work, as I use the old T3000 on my gaming PC, and still do today. Compared to the older T3000, the T3100 is actually rather disappointing. In my opinion, the 3000 is better in every way because of the following: Remote volume & Bass control, 1/8" input on sub allows use for RCA audio from any other source you'd want to hook up, and the biggest issue, THE SOUND itself. The T3100 actually uses smaller drivers than the 3000, and it really shows. I did a side-by-side comparison of the two on my computer, and the difference was very noticeable. That is why I'm still running the 3000 on this computer, and the 3100 is with my laptop, used far less often now. Don't get me wrong, the 3100 is amazing for their price point, but I like the old version a little better.

Rating + 4 Good for the money

Pros: -Low price for a solid 2.1 system
-Good sound quality
-Relatively small footprint, especially for sub
-Fairly clear mids and highs

Cons: -Lacking in low end (sub is a little weak)
-Sound can become a little muddled sometimes

Other Thoughts: I bought these for my mom, and bought the logitech z-2300s for myself. These perform solidly; they deliver good sound quality and are a really great deal for the price. I'm impressed with the satellites, as they deliver a clear, full sound. The sub is a little weak, however. I generally notice a lackluster performance, and the music seems to lack that little bit of kick that a solid sub provides. These pale in comparison to the z-2300s, but that's to be expected from the price difference. Overall a great buy for the price.

Rating + 2 Worked great- when it worked

Pros: Great Sound, easy set up, look great.

Cons: Bought two units of this product, firts one never worked, just made high pitch noise so i went ahead and returned it, I got a new one. The new one worked for about a year and then it just stopped working. It seems like there is some kind of a shortage, it just makes high annoying noise. Everything else works fine on my computer and nothing got broken so its the speakers... again.

Other Thoughts: I had two units of this product and none worked. These speakers have a very good price for a good sound, but in my experience they are very unreliable and i am very hesitant to buy anything from creative again, I did not have much luck with that company.

Rating + 3 Weak bass compared to others

Pros: Looks good. Price

Cons: Bass is relatively weak compared to my Altec Lansing ACS33BW I bought from newegg 3 years ago for $30 shipped although these have higher wattage.

Other Thoughts: I used to buy all my hardware from newegg but no more. Newegg used to have competitive prices and all around policies that catered to customers. They've gone from a great company to a above average. Newegg still have decent customer service but the prices isn't competitive unless you buy things on sale. I had to buy these elsewhere for $20 cheaper.

I should have spent a little more money and bought the Logitech z-4 or 2300 series.

Rating + 4 good but not great

Pros: Accurate highs and solid base. Volume of headphone jack is controlled directly from the speakers volume knob.
Fairly compact design. They look nice.

Cons: Low buzz which doesn't go away no matter what volume the speakers are at. Only really noticeable at low volumes for the most part, but when I was playing World In Conflict the other day it suddenly got much louder to the point where it was irritating enough that I had to put in headphones. Hopefully this isn't an indicator of further problems to come.

Mids seem to lack power and sometimes get a little distorted and muddled, especially when listening to heavier music with power chords etc...
Bass control knob is located on the right side of the sub, while the sub speaker is on the left side. If you have it in a corner like I do, it's somewhat irritating to adjust.

Other Thoughts: These are fairly inexpensive, and for the price they sound quite good, despite the somewhat lacking mids. However, i'm forced to take an egg off for the buzzing and poorly placed bass knob.
It seems as if the buzzing is a common problem (at least judging from several other reviews which also talk about it) and it's definitely something which creative shouldn't have overlooked.
CONCLUSION: I would recommend these to the average user looking for a solid upgrade from generic computer speakers, but audiophiles might want to look elsewhere.

Pros: Price. Looks.

Cons: These just don't sound great, and that's all there is to it. I'm more of a musician than a gamer and can honestly say that I'm quite disappointed in these. If you don't have the bass on full blast, you don't get ANY bass at all and everything sounds really treble-y. Also, the volume knob sucks... it's impossible to turn the volume down/up a tiny amount. It's either loud or quiet. That's pretty much it.

Other Thoughts: Not recommended at all. Go Logitech.

Pros: Nice sub woofer.
Easy to adjust volume.
Small in size.
Cheap in price.
The sub woofer packs quite a punch and is decent.

Cons: Well I bought these and I just didn't find them all that appealing. The positive reviews here are basically what made me go with these over any other speakers here. I was very disappointed when I plugged these into my computer.

While playing music the sound is not to great and is very distorted especially at mid to high levels. I expected some distortion at higher levels but these speakers sounded distorted at any level I had them at. Watching movies it wasn't much better. The voices just don't come out right.

Other Thoughts: These speakers don't sound much better if any better then the ones that came with my HP computer that I bought 6 years ago. They only have the edge with them being able to produce louder sound not better. The sub woofer is nice addition considering what I you pay for this.

I guess if you are building a computer and need decent set of speakers these will do but if you want crisp sound while playing music or watching movies I would save a little money and go with something else like Creative Gigaworks T20 Series II. They are not 2.1 speakers but the sound quality is like day and night compared to these.

Rating + 5 Great for the price

Pros: They work. Great 2.1 system for the price. Only requires one mini jack. Headphone jack for private gaming. Sleek design. Volume control - everything you would expect in good speakers. They work and have great sound quality as well. Looks nice in my gaming room.

Cons: No microphone Jack - if your headset has the microphone and headphone plugs close together you got to change the jacks connected to your mobo. Not a big deal but kind of a hassle.

Other Thoughts: About one hour after I ordered these the left speaker in my headset stopped working...

Pros: For the size and price of these speakers, I was expecting something *decent.* But I was blown away by the crisp, clear sounds that these speakers deliver.

Cons: It would be more convenient if the bass control wasn't located on the back of the sub.

Other Thoughts: I don't know if it's a standard, but I really like the headphone jack that's located on the speakers themselves.

Rating + 5 Good Quality with a Cheap Price Tag

Pros: Small yet powerful speakers. Good clarity for mid-high and high end sounds. Not really surprising that mid-range doesn't show up well considering the speaker sizes. Listening to it right now and even with a turned up a good amount it puts a good clean sound without distortion.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Seems odd that when it's turned down really quiet, it switches to the right speaker only. Goes back to stereo when turned up, just seemed odd.

Pros: The sub provides powerful bass. When I tested the speakers with Buckethead's "Night of The Slunk" the bass was heard on the floor above me in my house and neither the bass nor the total volume was at max. I am currently using the play 360 on a LG W2353V-PF 23" monitor and it is prefect. Great booms and great for all music I've played with it.

Cons: Slight distortion at max volume, but max isn't ever needed.

Other Thoughts: Great for a small room, but for a large room get something with more watts. I got mine for a dorm room and they are perfect.

Rating + 4 All in All, Not Bad

Pros: These speakers just arrived today. I tried them out with many different types of music, and I was impressed with the clarity of the upper range; I can hear detail I never heard before. The subwoofer does its job admirably.

Cons: I was just a little disappointed at the satellites' inability to render clearer, fuller mid-range sound. Also, the position of the volume knob for the bass on the subwoofer is awkward. It seems to me that it would have been more appropriate to have it on the front where it is within easier reach.

Other Thoughts: These speakers are very clear and, on the whole, deliver rich sound. I'm glad I chose them. I would especially recommend them to notebook users for their compactness.

Rating + 5 Fantastic System

Pros: You simply can't go wrong with these 2.1 speakers! They perform beautifully for gaming, movies or music. I've owned these since Christmas of 2007 and they were "very good" when used with the SoundMAX on board mobo sound. Then I recently paired them up with the new ASUS Xonar D1 sound card. Now they are close to PERFECT. Talk about fantastic simulated Surround Sound...WOW!!! The effects are outrageous, amazing, unbelieveable!!! There is no reason to buy a 5.1 or 7.1 system for your computer anymore.

Cons: Newegg is selling them way too cheap. :)

Other Thoughts: Speakers should be raised to be inline with the midlevel height of your monitor for the best effect. The subwoofer as a general rule should always be in a corner of the room.

Pros: Transparent sound but with good thumping bite especially if you put the subwoofer in the corner. I'm replacing my Fulton 80 speakers with these. The sound is just as good and they are small and portable.

Cons: To my critical ear, nothing, they compare favorably to JBL, AR, Bose, etc.

Pros: Nice clean highs right out of the box. Used Rock preset with Winamp while playing some Metallica, and it turned it into super clean highs and nice bass, even through the satellite speakers. Compares easily with my Boston Acoustics set of speakers and sub that I had with my Gateway for 8 years at half the price.

Cons: Feels like I had to jiggle the audio input cord a second time to get it to work. Had me second guessing myself for a minute but so far so good. Won't hesitate to report a problem if it arises.

Other Thoughts: Not a big deal but the subwoofer is in a huge box. Twice the size as my old pc speaker system but looks sleek enough.

Pros: very clear and very nice looking. looks great with my setup. its loud and clear what else do you want. the headphone jack is unnecessary for my computer but convenient none the less. and the power/ volume feels solid.

Cons: the sub could be louder with more poundage but that could be said for every system out there. the bass is great it adds to the sound very well but i cannot have a rave in my house with it. not quite that big.

Pros: Looks fantastic, sounds great, was pleased with the price too.

Cons: I wish there was a seperate on/off switch rather than just turning the volume all the way down.

The bass sounds good without being excessive or compromising the sound ranges. Cutting out the speaker sound when you plug in headphones is a nice feature too.

Pros: Very attractive design and happy with wall mountable feature. The subwoofer is very powerful and the sound quality of the speakers is very good. Trusted brand name that I will continue to support.

Cons: It's not a con that would affect me, but if you plan on using these speakers in a huge room or auditorium you will need something with more power.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend downloading a High-Definition audio driver (if your motherboard or sound card supports it) to hear maximum quality output from these speakers.

Pros: The sound is good and the sub isn't too "bassy". All works well with the output, everything can be heard

Cons: Watch out: the knob defaults to the right speaker only at lower volume settings. I didn't read this in any review, nor was it in documentation that came with the speakers. I tool both the satellite apart and the base sub to examine faulty point of solder and contacts. All seemed fine and when I turned the volume up it went to both satellites.

Other Thoughts: I wish these companies would stop using generic documentation and actually send paperwork that explains HOW something works.

Rating + 1 I hate these speakers

Pros: Subwoofer gets one star, otherwise it's a -5 stars for these.

Cons: The satellite speakers sound muddled, almost like part of the sound is being left out.

Other Thoughts: I had been using 2 Labtec speakers without a subwoofer and they sound much better compared to these things. Although I like Creative products, they just sound horrible and when listening to a song, it was like you couldn't hear the full range of the music. The subwoofer is the only thing good about it. Sure if you only have a laptop, maybe it's a nice upgrade, but if your like me and like it loud with a fuller richer sound, these speakers aren't for you. Either I will get a refund or sell these, cause they are now packed back in the box so put your money on something else, this isn't it, IMO.

Pros: Excellent, crystal clear sound, even with my motherboard's onboard sound. Has a nice strong bass, and I like that the bass woofer has an adjustment knob. They also look good.

Pros: Very modern and stylish look, compact design, and wall mountable. Full range of sound from tweeter, midrange and subwoofer speakers. An entry level 2.1 system for those wanting good sound on a budget.

Cons: Aesthetically these speakers weakness is the bright blue power LED. It is very distracting in a dark room placed next to your monitor. To my ears, the midranges cover to wide of an audio spectrum and at high volumes become distorted. Also, don't expect a lot of bass from this subwoofer. At loud volumes it becomes overdriven distorting the sound horribly.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this set of speakers for my dorm to supplement my laptop's built in speakers. If on a budget this set of speakers will probably fill your needs. If you have the money, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I have a six year old Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system at home that will blow these away, but they were also three times the price. The power LED will be a future fix for me as the speaker enclosures are fastened together with screws.

Rating + 5 Very Good Speakers for the Price

Pros: This speakers have a great sound range. They really shine on slower instrumental pieces - I can hear things that I never heard in songs before. Plus they work great on Linux Ubuntu without any install or anything!

Cons: They don't seem to have a high volume range - don't get me wrong they go higher than I will ever need - but for the crazy punk kids that blast music from 3 miles away these won't work.

Other Thoughts: I have about 5+ PC's in the house and these speakers sound better than all the rest. I think that they even top our $100+ Sony system in the living room. They sound really good on clean pieces where you can hear every instrument. I am so glad that I didn't settle on some cheap $20 speakers or anything. They even make Last.FM sound great!

I wonder how much better these would sound if I got a good sound card - could it really get any better?

Pros: -Great sound quality from speakers
-Good bass from the sub
-Pretty cheap upgrade at $35 compared to what else I found available

Cons: -No microphone input on the speakers like my old Logitechs

Other Thoughts: I'm not a big audiophile or anything. I just wanted some more bass from my setup. This sub is about twice as big as my old one, and so I get roughly twice as much boom. Sound quality from the speakers is great, very clear, not static or anything like that.

Cons: after a while of owning them i could listen to the lack of the mids most of it went to the subwoofer.

Rating + 5 Great Set

Pros: Great 2.1 set of speakers! They sound great, didn't cost very much, and are compact enough to fit on my desktop (even the sub). Has a sub for bass, small speakers for the mid range, and tweeters for the highs. (Yes the tweeter IS real) Cool blue light that matches my Habu. =)

Cons: Doesn't have an aux input on the set.

If you turn the sub level all the way up and give it some volume the air port on the sub whistles. But turning the sub level all the way up gives you a ridiculous amount of bass and you should never have to set it that high (I have mine set to 1/4).

Other Thoughts: One of the things that I noticed immediately about this set is its wonderful ability to fill a large room with great sound. I have my computer in the living room, which is open to the kitchen and dining room. These speakers sound great siting at the computer, but also sound great anywhere else in the room. (Even all the way in the kitchen!) I expected the bass to be much weaker as I moved further away, but it doesn't drop off very much at all. Even at considerably low volumes. You don't have to crank them up to get great sound throughout the room.

I also love the fact that the volume knob controls the headphone volume. (Seems like some other systems don't have this feature). But it seems like the headphone level is attenuated quite a bit. IE reasonable volume level with the headphones on, then you unplug them and the speakers are very loud. So just make sure you turn it down before unplugging the headphones. =)

Rating + 5 do a little work with these

Pros: For the money these are five stars for me now that I have put a just bit of work into them. Otherwise they might be, oh, two or three stars. But the faults--noted by others--are fixable to the point where I am very pleased, and I am very hard to please when it comes to how my music sounds coming out of speakers. I want it natural and I want good sound at low and high volumes. I am amazed and happy with these now.

Cons: Out of the box these are 1) shrill and 2) have a serious dip in the upper mid-range. Yes it's bad, but see "other thoughts" for making lemonade, that is, fixing the problems.

Other Thoughts: Knowing what I did to fix these might be useful to others.
1. Put black plastic electrical tape over the top half of the tweeters.
2. Set the subwoofer volume control to about 11 o'clock.
Those two things make these speakers quite good.
3. In the Foobar2000 equalizer, I've set the 55 Hz slider to 0 dB, 110 and 156 Hz to about -3 dB. 1.8, 2.5, and 3.5 Hz are all at about +3 dB. The sliders from 7 to 20 Hz are at -4 dB. The other sliders are in between, making curves, except the drop from 3.5 to 5 Hz is sharper.
Those adjustments make music through Foobar2000 great. Something like this can probably be done with other music players that have equalizers.

It might be good to put the subwoofer unit against a wall. I don't have a wall close enough. It is near my foot against the side panel of a partially open-backed computer desk located in the middle of my office

Somebody gave me a gift card, so I bought these elsewhere. Generally I would buy from Newegg, though, Newegg bei

Pros: For the price they sound pretty good. Easy set up with separate volume controls for the sub and satellite speakers.

Cons: For some reason the right speaker has humming sound coming from it no matter what I plug into the speakers (ie-computer or my iPod). It's not really noticeable if I'm listening to music because I have the volume up but if I have the volume down while surfing the net or something the buzzing noise is annoying.

Other Thoughts: I have yet to return these speakers, probably just a defect.

Rating + 5 Price / Performance king

Pros: The highs and the bass pumped out of the sub are VERY accurate. On par with many $100 systems I've had. The sub is surprisingly loud and gives the low range justice on any of my rap songs, and is sometimes a little to much for rock. I actually turn the sub down on rock songs!

Cons: I consider myself an audiophile, and the mid's on this system are lacking. They just sound inaccurate and flat... Also this system just doesn't get as loud as my past setups (all around $100). But I have to keep in mind its only 45 bucks.

Other Thoughts: Price / Performance on this system is where its at. But if your like me, and turn your system up and listen to it all around your house, it just isn't loud enough.

Cons: Wish they were 5.1, but hey, can't complain. You also can't hear very well when using Skype, but I'm not sure if that's my fault or on the other end.

Other Thoughts: I bought these speakers in June of 2007, and they're still going strong. The sound is excellent, the volume goes very high, the subwoofer is completely awesome. Worth every cent of the $40+ you spend on it. If you're on a budget and on space constraints, I highly recommend splurging the $40+ to buy this set. You really won't regret it, unless you're a very sensitive audiophile.

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Inexpensive and it sounds that way. The old addage - you get what you pay for - come thru again!

Rating + 5 Near perfect

Pros: 1. Cheap price
2. Good looks
3. Clear highs
4. THUNDEROUS bass
5. Did I mention the excellent price.

Cons: Not to many cons. When I first turned them on I was disappointed because the bass was up so high that that's almost all I could here. Then I remembered there was an adjustment knob on the back of the sub, which is pretty much the only gripe about these speakers. The adjustment knob is on the back of the sub.

Other Thoughts: Got mine from Wally's World with a gift card I got last year for X-mas. By the way they were a $1 cheaper (the first time I've seen New Egg beat at pricing).

I hear things in my music that I didn't know was there, things I couldn't hear in my car even. One track had some talking in the background that I never heard, I got up and walked through my house thinking someone left the TV on or had just come in the door.

These are the best speakers I've had yet. On my next system build I'll be upgrading to the T6100's for 5.1, but that won't be until at least a year.

Rating + 1 DON"T BUY

Pros: At first they sounded really good and i was happy

Cons: After about a week the plug that goes into my computer i had to constantly move around to get a connection. After three weeks the speakers stopped working all together and now i have to send them back to creative to get them repaired... AT MY EXPENSE
