Not for music, not for cinema
Pros: Simple and effective mounting options, centre speaker that sits on LCD monitors comfortably, ascetically pleasing.
Cons: The sound just doesn't measure up. The Bass is sloppy (too high, and changes the sound of the music you love), the highs are mediocre at best. The sound quality is just lacking for music, and cinema, but they are marketed for gaming after all. The speakers cannot be directionally adjusted when mounted.
Other Thoughts: Maybe I am just being picky because I am coming from a THX certified line of speakers that had awesome sound reproduction, and quality all around. They got damaged in moving (they lasted 5 years) so I had to replace them and so far, these Logitechs don't measure up. That's what I get for going cheap.

Great for 2 months
Pros: Great sound when it was working.
Cons: Subwoofer totally died after 2 months. The other speakers were still functional. Logitech support was poor. The first 2 agents told me they were sending an X540 as a replacement and that I did not need to return the G51. The 3rd agent said I had to return the G51 and would refund me money instead. This has gone on for a month now.
Other Thoughts: Logitech no longer makes G51 or anything comparable and has offered a refund.

Decent Pc Surround System
Pros: Delivers Impressive Dts/Ac3/DD5.1 Sound From Dvds More Than Loud Enough For Bedroom/Office Type Install Independent Sub/Ctr/Rear Volume Controls I Like The Ctr Speaker On Top Of The Lcd Monitor Design Quality Seems To Be What I've Come To Expect From Logitech..Good
Cons: Plugging In The Headphone Mutes The Speakers Headhones Should Have A Dedicated(Always On) Setup Rear Speaker Cords Should Be 20' Long Front Speaker Cords Should Be 10' Long Limited Front/Rear Speaker Mounting Positions
Other Thoughts: Gigabyte ep45 Mobo W/Realtek Audio Codec On Board

Good speakers
Pros: I researched here on NewEgg reading reviews and other sites to find the best bargan for the price.these speakers are decent for what you pay for.your not going to get a power house sound out of this system.it is decent at half volume-note its fairly loud-.my old 2.1 Kly... had a harder hit on the base and better satelites.but hey these are worth the price.let me clear a few things up i read in previous reviews that were'nt very clear-Matrix mode is used to define the difference between a 2.1 and 5.1.in gaming select you have your 5.1 sound.unselected, you have the two front speakers and sub working for a 2.1 sound.i have a very good sound card so/gaming or unselcted is all i use.your 5.1 sound only works when in game mode only.i haven't heard a true 5.1.sound come from this set yet.maybe from a more expensive set you should.for the most part i am happy.playing DOOM 3 will scare the .... out of you with this set up..chuckles.i doubt you will find a better deal for the buck!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: Speaker wire length worked fine for me,the speakers ALL adjust so you CAN mount them all on the wall, and the center speaker on the top of your monitor if you like.(i read a previous reviewer claiming these speakes did not wall mount,IGNOR IT).the master controler sits nicely on your desk,(or close by)its cord length is 8'or so ,power on or off from the controller, wich i like ,no more bending over for a hard reach for the power button on my old sub.i deducted 1 egg because i am critical to sound .not very good highs from this system, and not all that powerful.but hey if you want power pay more money.these are worth what your paying for trust me,a good surround sound creep out game like doom3 will prove it to you!hope i helped answer some questions, game on.NEWEGG ROCKS

Pros: You get what you pay for. In this case however this system far exceeded my expectations. Not as nice as my living room surround, but for my PC, this is the ticket. Center speaker rests nicely on top of my new Asus 23.5" monitor.
Cons: Speaker wires could be a little longer, at least the rear channels.
Other Thoughts: I made it work in my office, but I would suggest at least 2 10' extensions for the rear speakers.

Worth EVERY CENT
Pros: The cable to the remote is of a decent size and reaches approx. 6 feet. Very good for controlling the volume while watching a movie without having to get up to change anything. Also the controls allow you to change the volume on each section of the speaker system (master, sub, center, surround). The cable length is good and the sound quality is great. Definitely worth purchasing for a gaming and movie enthusiast.
Cons: Not really any, I wish the remote was wireless, but that's something I was able to get around.

Product is Alright
Pros: Good Bass, good highs but no mids. Good Surround Sound, great for movies and games but not that great for music. My Klipsch 2.1 speakers have clearer sound overall but the klipsch 2.1 bass is poor after about 50% volume.
Cons: No mids, the sound doesn't feel rich, lots of bass though..

OK overall
Pros: Crisp bass, smooth surround sound.. When Matrix is set to gaming, speakers are positioned correctly, and system is hooked up to a game console or tv the surround sound isso superb it makes you feel like your in the game/movie.
Cons: Large, asymetrical speakers and short speaker wires makes satellite positioning very difficult. Be careful with the subwoofer as the actual woofer has no cover over it or protection of any kind When I first picked it up I nearly poked a whole in it with my finger. It is located directly on bottom in center. If you play computer games and listen to music at the same time one or the other will always drown out, there is no happy medium regardless of settings. The matrix mode "music" is uttery useless all the music drowns out any lyrics and the music doesnt even sound right. Gaming matrix makes games sound good but anything else sounds horrific and when settings are set to normal sound is ok at best.
Other Thoughts: The bass is nice and powerful so best results are attained by setting woofer directly on hard floor up against wall. If you are getting this system for surround sound its perfect, but for what I use it for it was one of the worst buys I've made yet. Ended up buying same system I had before *refurbished* and jus use the G51 for my Xbox 360. Not worth the money. Bass does reachwindow rattling levels so be careful. This is a perfect gaming speaker set for everything else its useless.

Best Bang for the Bucks!!!
Pros: PRICE!!! You can't beat the price unless someone give you money to receive a 5.1 system. LOUD n' CLEAR!!! Sounds great. Bass is good enough for me. Mid-range and treble are wonderful SLEEK LOOKING!!! The product looks great. The Sub Woofer is high quality made. Cords are high quality, too. Satellites and the control are beautiful!!!
Cons: No CONS for the price! It's the best out there for this price range!
Other Thoughts: 5 EEGS for NEWEGG!!!

Awesome
Pros: These sound great and they came with free shipping.
Cons: For a small bedroom, they work great. Otherwise you have to spring for a 10 foot extension cable for the back speakers.
Other Thoughts: The control pod is great.

For the price, you can't go wrong
Pros: Sounds good The remote control is excellent Can wall mount the speakers by flipping the base around Mic. jack and headphone jacks are on the remote controller
Cons: As has been mentioned, the cords are a little short for lengthy configurations. You will need to get extensions as needed.
Other Thoughts: The sound is good, for what your paying for. As others have posted, I haven't cranked up the speakers to destructo level, but you can get it loud enough for good listening. The bass in my opinion is good, again look at the price, your getting some good sound for the dollar. Now what puts this over the top for me is the remote controller. My Sound Blaster cards mic. jack is on the back, this remote brings it to my desktop, and it works great, you have the mute, power, mic., surround, gaming/music controls right at your finger tips. Very happy with it, I would buy this again.

Stinks
Pros: Great sound when they worked
Cons: Let's see, where to begin. Within hours after installation, the center channel failed. I believe it's the connection at the back of the subwoofer. The reason why that I say this is because if I plug the center speaker into an older Logitech system, the center speaker works fine, if I plug it into the subwoofer that came with my new system, voices sound very distant and echo. Also can not hear voices in movies, can hear everything else though. I also tried cleaning the plugs and the female connectors also still no dice.
Other Thoughts: I guess I'll with BluTiger, it seems to be a much better system. I wish Logitech would respond to customer comments here on NewEgg like other companies do.

Pros: -The sound quality was good -On-controller volume leveler, mute, and headphone & mic jacks are really convenient.
Cons: -The cables for the front speakers are way too short. If you have to route your cables in a specific manner you may be out of luck because you won't have much leeway -"Matrix" mode didn't work very well, it seemed to be dropping sound effects from my games while it was enabled -Loud, I had to turn my master volume way down in order to get the volume knob to have any sort of resolution (it is notched, so you can't really get fine adjustments) -Center speaker is asymmetric, which is just poor design aesthetics (nit-picking on this one)
Other Thoughts: It took me a few days to realize what was bugging me about my set: the bottom speaker port on the sub was DOA. Everything else I've ever gotten from Logitech was good, it just figures that the heaviest and most expensive item was the one I'd have to RMA. Note, my egg rating assumes I didn't have that speaker problem.

Good
Pros: Sounds great, clear sound, amazing bass, VERY loud and I love it.
Cons: The front speakers and "precision control center" as the piece of paper calls it(thing with the knobs and buttons) have extremely short wires. I measured them, they are 5 feet. The rear speaker wires are longer though, I didn't want to pull them back out of the tangle I have going on behind my desk but I would say they are around 10 feet.
Other Thoughts: Other than the short wires, this is a great buy!

WOW!!
Pros: These speakers are LOUD, CLEAR and AWESOME!! Easily the best PC speakers I have ever used (unless I count my component stereo system that I used on my PC a while back, but that is not "PC speakers" so shouldn't count!). Get a good sound card and really drive these bad boys!
Cons: Price? But you do get what you pay for, so not really a con.

Amazing system.
Pros: I was upgrading from the old logitech 5.1 speakers and these seem to beat them in many ways. The sound quality is absolutely amazing for the price. I love that they can be very easily mounted on the wall and don't have and internal volume control. The volume control block is amazing and I am very happy that it has a Mic and Headphone input jack. I was sick of having to go in the back of my tower to plug in my mic. It also has great controls on the block. All in all, I would recommend these speakers to anyone!
Cons: Wires aren't long enough but I can deal with that.

Sound really good!
Pros: gotta say it sound great with watch movies on my computer. It's like sounds everywhere compare to my old 2.1 speaker.
Cons: try to hang the speaker up but most the wire didn't came that long.
Other Thoughts: tried messing with the matrix sound then hear like a weird noise. Guess i'll never touch it again.

Best I've Ever Owned
Pros: I've owned these for 15 months now and they are attached to an X-Fi Extreme Gamer. The sound out of this system is exceptional. DVD surround is better on these than the older 5.1 Home Theater system I used to use.
I like playing computer games with all of the lights out except for a small desk lamp and when I first played one of my horror genre games the sound effects literally made my skin crawl.
Everything that I have thrown at these speakers they have handled exceptionally well.
Cons: Couldn't afford the Z-5500 I really wanted but these have done great.
Surround speaker cords are fairly short so be prepared to buy rca jack extensions or do a bit of splicing to lengthen them.
Not loud enough to disturb the neighbors but then again I don't live in an apartment building either.
Other Thoughts: Still running very strong and when combined with the X-Fi the system is very flexible.
If you can't afford the Z-5500's then this is the next best thing.

Great Sound Without Being Excessive
Pros: The satellites produce great sound quality, and the sub, despite it's small size is very capable. These speakers are a noticeable step up from your typical 6 watt RMS per satellite entry level system, but not so powerful as to upset neighbors and roommates.
The control pod is also very good, as it gives you easy control over various speakers, and has a separate volume control for headphones. It is also heavy enough that it doesn't get dragged off the desk by its own cord.
Cons: The cords are ridiculously short, especially the front speakers. the setup I had planned out was severely compromised.
The choice in aesthetics is questionable. The plastic speaker casing is shiny and looks and feels quite cheap.
Other Thoughts: I've used 400 - 500 watt speaker systems that bordered on home theater quality, and I often found myself having to turn them down so low to avoid upsetting neighbors, that I could hardly hear them, and I've used entry level PC speakers that sound okay in a small space, but distort when you crank them up, and I'm glad to have finally found a good compromise.

Pros: 155 watts of power! This system is pretty sweet. I like the fact that control pod is heavy enough that the cables don't drag it off the desk on to the floor (as did my old hockey puck shaped one) The bass is massive and DEEP (not so much loud, but it really rumbles, which tends to irritate everyone in the house even when not on half!) The centre speaker has a nice LCD mounting lip)
Cons: Hmm.. Well the front L/R cables are a tad short, I think they need another foot. The rear cables are pretty long, however my desk is a fair ways from the wall so You'll need an RCA coupler/extender if you want to get them mounted without cables running through the middle of the room.
Other Thoughts: The subwoofer looks sweet, though I wish the speaker itself was larger so it could displace more air. I don't use the matrix modes since my sound card has 7.1 support. Free shipping was great, this sucker is at least 25lbs which would fetch a pretty penny for shipping.

Pros: System is good and strong. Good bass and excellant mids and highs. Look great and remote has a lot of functionality to it.
Cons: Newegg lists these speakers in the search when you look for 'wireless remote' Remote is not wireless. Not Logitech's fault so I will not take an egg away for this. Kind of shoddy though. I purchased these speakers expecting the wireless remote so I was kind of bummed on that one.
Other Thoughts: Too bad they're not loud enough to blow women's clothes off ;)

Great speakers
Pros: Excellent Speakers. The Matrix mode is awesome. Nice bass. Playing FPS are absolutely incredible in these
Cons: cables are short.
Other Thoughts: This was my first surround sound system, and I was satisfied. I will upgrade in the future

Great
Pros: Sound quality is as good as expected, shipping was fast... got mine no tax, free shipping... couldn't beat the price at the time of purchase....
Cons: As mentioned before the volume control settings such as the gaming and music matrix aren't very good, but provided your sound card is decent you can use your own settings... and I do wish the length of the cords were a tad bit longer...
Other Thoughts: perfect for a small area...

Happy with the purchase
Pros: great sound for the price. The matrix feature is great for those of us who dont have a 5.1 sound card and those who are hooking it up to the tv.
Cons: I have a high understanding of speakers and sound, but what i didnt realize, is that these speakers are really just made for computers, and nothing else. they will work fine for a TV or a computer without a 5.1 sound card but not true life surround sound, the matrix feature just pretends to be surround sound (and does a decent job).
the subwoofer speaker itself could be a little bigger, but thats just me, i like heavy heavy bass. the base does sound great and is very responsive. but i think it could just use a size upgrade and a little more juice.
Other Thoughts: If your a computer gamer, get them. i dont think you can find a better speaker set for the price. if your looking for a set of surround sound speakers for your TV, dont go for these, but if this is all you can afford, then deffinately get these they do sound very good, and i am still happy with them. the quality of the speakers is good. and the matrix feature is very nice. so i am happy with spending such a small price.

Exactly what I paid for
Pros: These speakers right out of the box impressed me, they are designed very attractively and futuristic. They Match my Logitech G15 keyboard and G9 mouse. I am using a creative soundblaster x-fi with these and the sound is phenomenal. I can crank these up halfway and hear them clear as day down stairs. The bass hits really loud and at the right times (this could be due to me using Bass redirection on my soundcard). The first time a gas tank exploded in crysis I almost jumped out of my chair!
Cons: These speakers do static at times...this could just be a bad quality mp3, or youtube video so I cannot positively say that its from the speakers themselves, they do not crackle at all during gaming.
Other Thoughts: The cords are long enough for me but some say they are very short. They have Velcro straps attached to the cords so you can wrap up the excess. I dont use matrix mode at all due to the configuration in my X-fi board. For the price these speakers are great! I upgraded from a pair of X-540's and will not look back.

Great bang for the buck
Pros: The speakers offer an incredible bang for buck ratio. The five satalite speakers offer good sound quality, solid construction, and are visually attractive. The system is able to handle highs really well. The included cables feel durable. There are some complaints regarding cable legnth, but I was able to position every speaker where I wanted it with wire to spare. Anywhere within 7 feet of your desk should be fine.
My favorite feature has nothing to do with sound quality--the center speaker attaches to the top of virtually any flat panel monitor. Placing the speaker above the monitor is a great position, getting it out of the way and saving desk space. Attachment is not permanent, and only takes three seconds. There are no screws or glue needed! It feels secure, hasn't bundged, and I doubt that it will fall any time soon.
Cons: Out of the box, the system leaves a lot to be desired with how it handles lows. The bass in general just sounds off.
Other Thoughts: The system's bass performance can be improved with software. Even something as simple as fiddling with your sound card's software can make a world of difference. If spending an afternoon fiddling with software and sound settings to acheive great lows sounds like your idea of a perfect Saturday, then you will be able to squeeze some great sound out of this reasonably-priced rig.

Rear speakers didn't work
Pros: I like the remote. That was very cool. The speakers are good looking and easy to set up
Cons: The two rear speakers did not work. This system not great for music. Might be ok for gaming, but I'm not a gamer. Bought them for music on my pc, and watching music videos. Distort quite a bit at high volume.
Other Thoughts: I would not recommend these because of my probs with them. Called Logitech and got someone who could not help me. They barely spoke English and took forever just to get the basic info like model number, etc. They were not very knowledgeable about product.

Terrible bass
Pros: Got it for $119 with promotional price Nice looking setup
Cons: The bass is terrible and totally off. This is a common issue of this system. Matrix mode is useless as others.
Other Thoughts: I would avoid this system for any price due to the terrible lack of bass.

they may work if i had all the hardware..
Pros: not one i am aware of yet.
Cons: the simplest piece of this is missing, the actual audio cables. they were not in the box which was shipped to me. logitech told me to call newegg, newegg told me to call logitech. 150 bucks rendered completely useless by missing cables worth prolly 3 dolllars. i hope this doesnt happen to anyone else
Other Thoughts: quite possibly an awesome set of speakers. but be aware of this, it would be very (VERY) unlucky for me if mine was literally the only box missing the sub-to-computer cables. these are completely necessary to make it work

Decent Speakers
Pros: The speakers look great, and the control is very helpful. I love how they can twist around to hook onto your monitor or a ledge on the wall. The rear speakers cords are fairly long. Nice to have gaming mode, music mode, and reg mode on controls. Mic / Headphone inputs on the desk control panel.
Cons: On a lot of songs the rear speakers don't seem to pick up much. They will only pick up the very high end and it often sounds weird since it is usually just cymbols and other high pitch noises. When watching movies, the rear speakers often only play the background music which takes away from a true surround sound experience.
Other Thoughts: Good speakers for the price. The software that comes with them has lots of cool things to tweak. Very easy to set up and figure out how to tweak via software.

Wrong Product
Pros: Good power, sound, etc. easy to use. it has mixers/sound controls in case your video card is sub standard. Headphones and microphone have convenient ports on the volume controller so I dont need to keep moving my comuter to plug them into the back. It has sturdy insulated wires on the speakers
Cons: No ground! It has a constant buzz. This noise does not go down when the volume is turned down. It puts out heat that my last computer speaker systems did not.
The next con is more about New Egg and me than it is about the product. I had done a search for wireless speakers. New Egg gives suggestions for similar products and I saw this suggestion and thinking it was a wireless, like my the results of my search, at the price advertised I ordered it. I am not happy with the purchase.
Other Thoughts: All the extra features are unnecessary if one has a good audio card. I recommend using the superior audio card and turning off the "matrix" and other featurs.
I never would have ordered it had I known it wasn't wireless and that it wasn't grounded and has a buzz.

You get what you pay for
Pros: Well to start off Logitech gave me exactly what I paid for. The speakers offer very clean Mids and High frequencies. The sub isn't over powered at all which I'm very thankful for. Don't take it the wrong way you can turn the sub up but on the standard setting it sounds great, good blend of Low hard hits, clean Mids and crisp Highs. This overall is a great sounding speaker system. I have given this product an overall 5 because it was exactly as described and so far I'm very happy with my purchase, not to mention free shipping on a 26lb. product (Thumbs Up). I would suggest this product to anyone looking for a 5.1 system just because I feel it meets the requirements of a good Media/Gaming Pc.
Cons: The Speakers do not pivot at all except for the center speaker. Not really a bad thing but it would have been nice. The rear speakers don't have a flip-able cover so if you have them hanging from the ceiling like myself the Logitech logo is upside down..... Not a huge deal but just would be nice as well.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great 5.1 system and I believe i will be purchasing more from Logitech once I feel i need a new (louder) setup. Thanks Newegg :)

Very Good Speaker set for the Price
Pros: I bought this set not knowing if I would like the 5.1, however, after this set I will never go back. I am now able to hear things coming from behind me I've never heard before. They even work on movies, and some music applications. Also, the headphone jack and mic jack on the control pod is very nice. The control pod in itself is very useful and well designed. In my opinion it has become a fashion statement in itself. Wonderful Bass. (It actually had a bit to much for me so i ended up turning it down a bit!) The bass sounds very nice on music, movies, but really comes alive on games. Which is what it's designed for. The sound in no way sounds tinny. Has a very full sound.
Cons: Really the only one that I can think of is that the sub can overload when put through heavy tympani on some classical music. But it still gets five eggs because it performs well on it if not turned up an insane amount. That and it wasn't designed to play music and the fact it performs that nicely on music is somewhat a miracle from a 5.25 inch driver.
Other Thoughts: It sounds amazing and I'm using an integrated 7.1 card in my motherboard. Garbled sound comes from back speakers on online videos. But I can only hear it when standing right next to them. But once again, the videos aren't encoded for 5.1 so that's why the noises come from them. And if you can hear it, just turn the back speakers down with the control pod. All over, if your looking for a good speaker system for gaming/music on your computer. Go with this one. It's the cheapest and highest quality one I could find!
Once again, five eggs to Newegg!

awesome
Pros: had these for more than a year and they are still kickin great. all the speakers still have the same quality of sound they had the first day i got them. they can get loud enough to hear from my neighbors house and the woofer makes the objects on my desk shake.
Cons: the wires connecting the speakers are a little short to use surround sound.
Other Thoughts: i love them and will use them until they die and get some more just like it. logitech has really delivered on this system. the only bad thing is the shortness of wires on the surround sound but u can buy longer adapters.

Pros: Beautiful Speakers. Can get very loud and still be very clear. I had a few complaints around campus, and downstairs when I had these at only 1/3 volume. About the only thing I personally have experienced which are better than these are Bose speakers. If you feel like putting in the $500+ dollars for those, then you should get those. Otherwise you should get these.
Cons: After about two months I noticed static from the left side channel, but it is weird because it only happens during some songs when I have the music matrix on. I am Disappointed that there is no digital input. Only an RCA Left/Right and PC audio. No optical or coaxial digital audio. Although all the speakers are digital coaxial connections.
Other Thoughts: The matrices work pretty well. It really did seem like there was surround sound when I was only using two channels like from my Xbox 360 on the gaming matrix, but the music matrix does not seem to do much except make the rear speakers have the same audio as the front.

Fantastic
Pros: Fantastic sound quality, powerful volume, convenient controller. I was completely unaware when I purchased them, but Logitech has a download that lets you print out skins that fit on the speakers. Allows for some nice stylization to fit a room, if you care about that (and I do).
Cons: Not any particular negative points.
Other Thoughts: Some people may mention that the cords are too short, and this may be true depending on your setup. Be prepared for extensions if you're going for a rather wide setup. The speakers were also larger than expected, but it wasn't a bad thing.

6 Months: No Problems
Pros: these speakers sound great, I play Xbox with these along with Crysis for PC. The gaming matrix is nice and sounds great when i grenade blows up next to you. I actually had to turn the subwoofer down to the second notch because it was just to loud. I've read some reviews where people said these speakers wern't loud enough. they are either deaf or can't find the volume nob.
Cons: My Rear speaker cables were a little short but i made it work.
Other Thoughts: Great Purchase. High Recommended. New Egg is great once again

Great, but a few considerations
Pros: Physical qualities: quality construction, clear and loud sound, 5.1 setup. Extras: has 2 possible input sources, one is 5.1, the other is from a red/white audio source (e.g. a Wii). Really well designed wired controller. Has control for Master, Subwoofer, Surround, and Center; power buttons, Matrix mode toggle, mute mic / volume.
Another great feature is you can plug headphones / microphones / a headset into the wired controller. I found this to be very useful, as it's easily accessible and fewer cables to be managed.
Downfacing bass, a natural "groundshaker". Logitech packed the system well.
"Matrix" mode turns 2 channel Stereo into 5.1 surround sound. The results vary by what you play, and ranges from "enjoyable" to "eh." But I'll say that 5.1 with Smash Bros. Brawl is pretty neat.
Cons: Length of the back cables was short. Length of front cables seemed short as well. A review said back cables = 15 ft, front cables = 6 ft; I think it'd been better if both were doubled. -- Note this was easily solved by buying RCA jacks from "mono price.com" (on eword, no space, review spell check problem). I purchased 2 25-ft cables and 2 6-ft cables for around $8. Still, longer cables would've been better.
I don't notice this myself, but several Internet review mentioned the bass seemed "loose". Something to consider.
Other Thoughts: I had problems initially getting the setup to work due the lack of color coding in my soundcard (Audigy 2 Platinum).
Software Setup: Getting this to work in Ubuntu 9.04: in Alsamixer, toggle Audigy Analog / Digital Output Jack.
Hardware Setup: Speakers stands can be rotated (see manual) to be mountable on walls. This requires a wall nail.
Check Wikipedia for schematics on proper 5.1 speaker placements. ---- Thoughts on purchasing this ---- Bought this to have a good 5.1 setup for my computer that I could hear in adjacent rooms. Purchased during a sale on Newegg with a decent discount and free shipping.
The other offerings from Logitech I considered:X-530, Z-5500. I bought the G51 because it was the mid-range between the "cheap" X-530's and the high end Z-5500's. I figured if I wanted a home theater system, I'd splurge on a good TV first. The X-530 were good, but looked fragile compared with the G51.
Overall, I'm happy with buying the G51. "It sounds good."

So Far.... So Great!
Pros: Great look to the speakers! Sound quality is amazing. Great quality for the price! Quick shipping! Thanks Newegg!!!!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: I know what people are saying about the cable lengths, but I don't have a problem with it. Infact, I still have room to work with.

Good for the Price
Pros: If u r looking for 5.1 setup for laptops, these r the best. u can get surround sound 4m the matrix mode this model offers. You can get much better sound if u r using a desktop. Works fine without sound card too.
Cons: my rear speakers blew away after using them for 2 weeks. However, talked to logitech guys and they replaced the unit without much hassle.
Other Thoughts: If you put high volume on the matrix mode and play poor quality audio, u can hear crackling noises in rear speakers and they slowly died out.. so, i think we should be careful with matrix mode. However, u can the most out of them with a sound card (as u wont need the matrix mode then). On the whole, i'm very satisfied. 5.1 movies on this sound amazing. I have been using them for 6 months by now and recommend them to any1 interested in getting decent sound out of their computer.

Good speakers.
Pros: High quality sound, goes nice and loud. Easy set up.
Cons: Not much of a con, but it's only loud if you have more than two speakers set up.
Two back speakers blew a few days after getting them.
Other Thoughts: Other than the back speakers messing up, these are really good speakers. I'd recommend getting the extended warranty though, just in case.

Logitech G51
Pros: Great sound quality. Easy to wall mount or place on a flat surface. Controller pod is nice, non slip rubber pads on bottom. All in all the system sounds great
Cons: Pod speakers are not wireless. Pod speakers do not swivel from left to right when wall mounted. The 3 front speakers have small cords.
Other Thoughts: In order to wall mount these you have to unscrew the bottom screw on the pod speakers and flip the stand around. I love the system and would recommended it to anyone.

Logitech never lets me down.
Pros: Probably one of the best sets of speakers I've ever owned. Sound quality is great, volume is great, love the control pad, and how could you complain with the price?
Cons: I cant think of any, some people have complained about the length of the cables, but they worked perfectly for me, so I can't do the same.
Other Thoughts: I got them like two days before the price drop, so I could have saved some money, but they're well worth what I paid. Can't wait to mess around them a little more. Also, the picture shows three of the speakers uncovered, and two of them with the mesh, I don't recall seeing it in the reviews, but they all come with the mesh on them, but you can remove them. I was a bit worried about stuff getting in it, but Logitech covered their basis. Color also matched my phone, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals, love the lite graphite color. BUY!

Worth Every Cent
Pros: fills my 10'x13' room with perfect, crystal clear sound. Gets awesome surround sound even with my horrible two channel onboard audio. Clear instructions, no annoying software to deal with. I personally like the composite audio inputs [red and white] for the purpose of playing xbox 360/ps3 with these awesome speakers. subwoofer is a beast for the price. Guaranteed to impress anyone who sees and listens to them.
Cons: none so far. the little controller thingie's cable is friggin think BUT not an issue at all.
Other Thoughts: 150 dollars and free shipping on a 26 pound package. Epic Newegg win.

Great volume/sound, no so great quality
Pros: 5.1 is nice. They're very loud, and have excellent sound quality.
Cons: I've broke 2 sets already. First set was within about 6 months. I turned it up past halfway (which, granted, was ear-blasting loud) and blew the speakers. Second time, after another year or so, i had them plugged into a surge protector, power goes out, and all the satellite speakers are now scratchy.
Other Thoughts: Newegg replace the first set no-questions-asked. mailed me a brand new set. AWESOME! the second set, i told logitech what happened, and they have been a dream to work with. They'll be replacing this second set here in about a week. So overall, even though these seem to be a bit prone to breaking, they're backed by excellent warranties, even when newegg's one yr warranty runs out. I would recommend buying these.

Pros: Great sound and volume, you can really crank out some tunes. Enjoyable listening experience for music/vids...
Cons: None really, except one has a buzz in it, and because the wires are short after a while of sitting at your desk in front of them your eardrums buzz and ring.
Other Thoughts: The $40.00 rebate and my friend turned me on to Logitech is what enticed me to the purchase of these particular speakers for my new system, BUT NEVER RECEIVED THE REBATE! Will think twice before making future purchases that promises a rebate, you never know if your going to get it?

great speakers
Pros: clear sound, easy setup could use longer cables but they are fine for me.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: just remember to set your sound card up and adjust them to speakers, also your speakers are onle as good as your sound card is. if you have a cheap sound card it will not put out what these speakers can handle

Pros: Great sound, easy to set up, volume control panel with mic and headphone jacks, customizable satellite speaker inserts
Cons: Rear surround cables not long enough to reach the other side of a normal-sized room, subwoofer is a bit boomy and will never replace a true 12" or 15" for music and movies
Other Thoughts: This is a great choice for gaming and I love the immersion when playing L4D. For the price paid I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have to buy a 25' cable to actually reach the back wall of a small bedroom.

Too expensive, but good
Pros: - Full, clear, hard-hitting sound from all angles - Slick look and easy setup - Control unit functionality is intelligently designed
Cons: - Cords are too short, especially the L / R front speakers, and the control unit's serial cable - No HD audio input - The mounts on the speakers don't tilt or move to allow you to aim them, only the center channel has something like that, and it's vertical only. - WAY too expensive
Other Thoughts: This is what I would call a "premium basic" speaker system. The only inputs on the sub are that of the standard green / orange / black / pink 1/8 inch headphone jacks, with a red and white RCA input as an auxiliary.
If you're going to buy this, make sure you have a couple of female-to-female RCA adapters to extend the speaker cords, and some extra RCA cords to attach. The front left and right speakers have really short cords. Also plan on placing the control unit within 4 feet of the sub, because the cord isn't much longer than that.
I really like the intelligent design and light behavior of the control unit. When you hit the button on it to select a channel (such as sub or rear) to adjust the volume, it will eventually flip back to overall volume if you just leave it alone.
All in all, without HD audio inputs or speaker mounts that are aimable, this is not worth the One Sixty price tag Newegg has it at, and it's *certainly* not worth the Two Hundred anyone else wants.

Worthwhile Purchase.
Pros: Very crisp clear sound even at higher volumes. Full dynamic sound quality. Speakers can be tuned and adjusted with the control pod, to an extent. Updraded from Logitech X-530 5.1 system. Wow.
Cons: Since speakers can be tuned and adjusted with the control pod (to an extent) its a whole other set of deelies to foober with to make your sound better, or worse, depending on how good you are at it.
Other Thoughts: I am entirely pleased with the product, the price paid, and the shipping time from newegg. New speakers! Yay!
Why not? - everyone else seems to do it...

Solid Buy.
Pros: Nice looking, fantastic sound, plenty loud.
Cons: The wires are a little short.
Other Thoughts: I think I already wrote a review on these, but I've had them much longer now.
This is a nice setup, but you've got to take the time to adjust it to your listening preferences. Buy a six-pack, sit down and mess with the EQ until you get it to where you like it. You'd be surprised how good it can sound when adjusted properly.
Trust me.

Awesomeo sound
Pros: Great price point, great value, and better then 2.1. I got this unit and got it setup within an hour. It sounds awesome and works great for gaming, music and definitely movies.
Cons: wires are kinda short for true surround sound. If you want to mount the speakers in all 4 corners of even a small bedroom like mine, you need extra audio cord.
No optical input for HDTV or Xbox 360.
Other Thoughts: I measured out how much extra wire I would need before I bought it; and bought all the adapters and wire on Newegg.

Great speakers
Pros: Great sound quality go nice and loud and look nice with the filters on or off
Cons: only noticeable con is the wire length i have a fairly small room and had to get extenders to make them look nice when running through the attic and still then barely made it
Other Thoughts: Great value for the money

Amazing Speakers
Pros: For their size they produce amazing sound! The matrix on it is amazing, has both modes for music, and games. I mainly leave it on game for music because it produces heavier bases, I'm a bass guy. I was having problems with my mic on my other speakers, but ever since I have bought these I am able to plug both mic and headset into the speakers without a hiccup. They have yet to distort, even on maxed volume, but keep in mind that will depend on soundcard.
Cons: Sub has no protection shield on the bottom, other than that none.
Other Thoughts: They were really built for mid to smaller size rooms. The rear mounting speaker wire is about 15 feet in length, which is another reason I say mid to small size rooms. You can always buy extensions for them. I mouted two of them for surround sound and that is a good choice if you want true COD5 surround shot echo.

The G51 makes all the difference.
Pros: Firstly, the speakers look great. I keep the subwoofer on my desk because I have the space, and it seems to match this room fine. The sound quality itself is pretty fine, using an integrated 5.1 mother board audio setup and it sounds so much better than my old 2.1 setup.
The speakers come with a "mod" system, where you can print up little graphical skins for the speakers.
The on-desk volume control handles the subwoofer, center, surround, as well as master, and it comes with a mic-in and headphone jack, with a mute button for the speakers and mic as well.
Cons: None that come to mind, kind of hard to balance the center speaker on a Syncmaster monitor.
Other Thoughts: If it's at all avoidable, don't use matrix mode, you will be disappointed, It's not necessary with a 5.1 set up, but if you're getting this for 2.1 system, I reccomend getting a cheap 5.1, 7.1 sound card.

Upgraded From 160watt Kenwood Amp
Pros: This is a great product. Equally loud as my old 160w kenwood 4 channel amp but just sounds so much better. Now I can finally use the surround options on my audio panel. Satellite speaks have base that can be easily unscrewed and turned so they can be placed flat on the wall. Center channel speaker fits nicely on top of my 22" acer flat panel without falling off. External sound panel is easy to access on my desk and the controls are simple and easy to understand. The rear satellite speakers have long cords in case you want to mount them behind you. Setup generally easy. Subwoofer has external RCA jack so you can use the speakers without the computer. Generally a great product. I give the product 5 stars for its price/performance/ease of use.
Cons: If they were wireless it would be sweet but I paid less than half of what Newegg is charging now so I can't complain. The wires can be a bit of a tangle. It was slightly difficult for me to configure the setup the first time. This was due to the fact that my motherboard audio connectors were not the same colors, some were, some were not. Check your motherboard manual so you know where to plug things in properly. It still wasn't hard to do but it took a few moments to find the correct plugs.
Other Thoughts: I didn't get this product from Newegg because it was cheaper elsewhere but I wanted to write a review anyway. These are certainly not the most powerful speakers you can own. For my bedroom they are great and for movies too but I wouldn't recommend them for audio production. Certainly not powerful enough. They were a great buy with the rebate and a good upgrade from my old system. I have owned them over 4 months. I got the rebate back after about 3 months but hey! I ACTUALLY got the rebate. Thanks logitech! Sony tried to scam their way out of my last rebate for a software product but I called them out on it and they sent me one. Woo! Sorry I didn't this product from you Newegg. But as always, Newegg rules! Thanks for everything!

I like it
Pros: loud surround and subwoofer great for playing games and listening music
Cons: Not really a con for me bcuz I don’t watch too many dvd movies on my pc I got this speakers for playing games. When I watch a movie everything is loud except the voice chat u can barely hear what the heck they saying, now I know what some ppl meant by these speakers not loud enough, I watch movie about 8 feet away from the front speakers that could be the problem too.
Other Thoughts: I guess you can’t complain when u seat far away from the speakers they were made for pc. these speakers are not home theater surround sound so can’t expect it to be lol

Pros: This setup is AMAZING!! It was worth every penny IMO. Since t's pretty rare that you can place rear speakers directly behind you given the cord length provided, I mounted the rear speakers on the ceiling about 4 feet apart and 4 feet behind my computer chair. the acoustics are AMAZING!
Cons: Only thing I could see making this a better system for me would be longer cables for all the speakers.
Other Thoughts: Came with velcro straps on each cable which made the setup even more clean! All the wires bunlde up very nicely

FROM ALTEC TO LOGITECH
Pros: AWWWWWWWWWSUME SPEAKERS. Out of the box on to the wall every thing is color coded for easy installation. Sound is excellent at full power. nothing like the review I read here at newegg. I went from a 12 watt Altec Lansing 2.1 (model ATP3) system that when I bought it back in 1999 I thought was deafening. for about the same price I just paid for the Logitech G51 5.1 system. I listen to online radio on winamp (station X out of AU.) No pops snaps or crackling. just good pure clear sound. I use alot of Logitech products. So I'm always watching when the come out with something new. and while the G51's have been out for a while I've very impressed.
Cons: The only con I found was the two front satellite speaker only have about a three foot wire. between the amp and the speakers. to set this system up as a true surround sound system each of the 5 satellites in my opinion should have at least 30 feet of wire This would give any one more then enough room for speaker placement.
Other Thoughts: I've lived in the same apartment building for the last six years. and never spoke to any of my neighbors. Well let me tell you, We had words today. funny thing was I couldn't hear any thing they were saying. MMMMMMMM maybe the music was to loud. ROFLMAO!!!!! I bet the babies could wake the dead...

Awesome Product!
Pros: Excellent Base, Good Volume for a normal sized room, crisp sound.
Cons: Cords to rear speakers worked perfect for my setup, but might be a bit short for really large rooms.
Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned the matrix mode is a little wierd. But I would not let that stop you from getting this product. The people that have given this poor reviews, or say that the sub does not put out good base must be running cheap sound cards. I am running this system on a mid to upper level sound card and it sounds AWESOME. I have the base turned up just 1 notch or otherwise the neighbors would be complaining.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat. You cannot beat the performance for the price!

Great Speakers!
Pros: They sound really good!!
Just remember though for the gamers that use all the weird 3d upmixing stuff that, for example. if you have the SB X-FI cards with all the software goodies for sound effects, then you might want to keep the gaming mode off from the speaker controller or visa-versa or it will give you weird sounding results. I personally keep most of my SoundCard software disabled or adjusted very low and use the gaming mode button on the controller from these speakers and its sounds perfect in my opinion. For those that dont understand what Im trying to say here. Think of these speakers being a hardware version of these cool 3d sounding effects for games and a good soundcard being the software version for the same type of affects. Both running on top of each other causes some serious weird reactions and inconsistent behaviors with the sound output. These speakers would be a huge advantage for someone who has a older or cheaper soundcard with no fancy software.
Cons: nothing I can think of.
Other Thoughts: I was debating for the past month if I should get these or the Z series but didnt want to spend the extra $160. I am completely happy with my decision after reading all of the negative reviews. I cant even turn them up 50% of the way before I start disturbing the other roomies.

Great speakers
Pros: Great for the price. The people that say they're not loud enough must be deaf.
Cons: The back are louder than the front which seems a little backwards but I guess that depends on how your setup works.
Other Thoughts: I wish it had optical audio in, but thats what the more expensive speaker set is for.

Great Speakers
Pros: Good Quality for the Price. I love the controller. The surround sound is really good. I get confused sometimes because I hear noises and sounds in a movie and I think it's outside or in another room.
Cons: A/V Cables are a bit short.

Good system
Pros: Good sound, lovely wired remote, stands for the speakers are reversible with a hook on the bottom to allow for wall mounting. All together nice system for less than $200
Cons: Back speakers only have cables that are about 15' and the front speakers are only 5' wouldn't be so bad if you could unplug the cables from the back of the speakers and replace them. Lack of leveling options for surround sound.
Other Thoughts: If you want to have longer cables then you will have to buy a RCA cables and gender changers (female to female) of which newegg stocks both.
It would be nice to see speaker systems for the PC with more inputs and most importantly an IR remote. As more and more people use their computers for home entertainment the more important a wireless remote will become to sell systems like this.

Sounds like a good idea merely just sufficient...not music to my ears
Pros: I bought these for the tiny bedroom I used to live in, so I could have a little surround sound while watching blu-rays played on my pc. The surround sound works and the subwoofer is loud(in fact it's about the only part of this system that is). It's very easy to setup and use. The color coded wires and big volume nob make it easy to use. The big leds make it easy to see the volume level(and turning the nob is quite pleasurable because the whole thing seems to light up in excitement as you make it louder). There also mute button which make it easy to shut off the sound when leaving in a hurry or if any unexpected vistor shows up. Plugging in a mic is also very easy. The best part of this system is that it's sets up easy and it's very very easy to use with a user friendly console.
Cons: ...BIGGEST PROBLEM FRONT NOT LOUD ENOUGH...
The front speaker isn't loud enough, I had to turn the nob for the front up all the way just to hear dialog. There's different functions but they are all sorta useless, I think. There's a gaming and music option but none of them sound right, so I just left it on a normal setting.
Logitech never gave me my rebate either, I sent it to them right after I purchased the system and they had no record of receiving it. I know other people got theirs but I didn't so I had to list this as a con.
On a whole I was just very disappointed with the speakers and the strength of sound. The imagery of a gamer being blown out of their chair on logitech's website is hardly accurate. I've been more blown away by elevator speakers.
*If you are sitting at your PC it's fine, the front speaker and the surround is loud enough(but my no means earth shattering). If you are back a few feet from the front speaker like I was on my bed, its simply isn't loud e
Other Thoughts: It's a novelty system, the speakers look cool and it's polished. I guess the real issue here is that you, the user, the gamer or movie watcher are buying this for sound quality. There's just no getting around the fact that it isn't loud enough, it simply doesn't put music or sound into your ears a level high enough to add to the enjoyment of your activity.
In my case I was in a tiny room where I could not fit anything larger, no amp, no speakers, nothing larger. Point being if I wanted something like surround sound this was the only way. In hind site, I probably would have, that's right would have bought this system again even given how expensive it wass for how limited the sound levels are are because it was the only thing that was going to fit in my room. The next level up is the z-5500, I just question that if you are going to spend that kind of money on something why not get a real surround system you can use for everything?

Very happy
Pros: Plenty of power,Stylish, user friendly, easy set up,High quality,Worth the $200 they ask for from the Logitech.(Thanks to Newegg they are alot cheaper!)
Cons: If you want to set this up in a bigger room the wires my not be long enough.
Other Thoughts: At first I thought the matrix setting had a strange sound to it but after a few days I realized that it was just that I was just used to a crummy system. LOL I would buy these again. But with the quality I believe that this may be the last set of computer speakers I buy. Thanks Logitech!

Best Speakers I have owned!!!
Pros: I absolutely love these speakers. I am able to plug my PS3 through the rca connector and run full 5.1 through my computer, at the same time!!! The bass on this is awesome. I have used the z5500 before, and it does beat these, but not worth it since being in an apartment you can't turn the bass up that much. The ability to mount the center channel is genius, and totally useful for me. Overall these speakers are worth it, especially since I got them for $70 after rebate on a website I wish could have been newegg.
Cons: No digital input, if you want that you have to get the Z-series.
Other Thoughts: If you have bad speakers, and want new ones. Get these!!!

Nice but not very loud
Pros: These speakers are made very well, especially the sub unit with a nice amount of mass to it. I did purchase these with the 40 dollar rebate and thought I would not receive it after the original rebate operator went belly up. To my surprise, a new operator came on the scene and I received my 40 dollar check only about 3 weeks later than when originally promised by the first outfit. The system does sound fine but only in a limited environment. See below "other thoughts".
Cons: The cables that came with these speakers were of very good quality but way too short, especially the rear speaker cables. This really made it difficult to layout the system. Be prepared to purchase male/female RCA extension cords of whatever length you need to fit your space properly.
Other Thoughts: The unit is advertised as 155 watts into a 2 ohm load. The reality is when using 4 ohm or 8 ohm speakers, which this unit is made with, the true RMS power is one half to one quarter of the stated 155 watts. So I find this to be a hype to give the appearance that this is a powerful system, which it really isn't. I am disapointed that I can't get high volume out of these speakers, despite using different sources. They are okay for a nook or cubby hole environment only, IMHO. Total system power is no more than about 40 watts RMS into 8 ohms.

Nice Medium Grade 5.1 Speakers
Pros: Very Decent sound for the price Quality ratio,I like the Control unit, and the Matrix option for games,150 watt's..You won't regret these....well thanks to Newegg for my other recent purchase's which were great 5 Egg's !!!
Cons: Rebates Suck !!!I bought these from Tiger but my review never made it to the items reviews page??? And I felt compelled to leave one somewhere.since I also buy a lot here ,then,I hope Newegg..lets me say my piece..I also got an email stating my rebate was received but,2 months later their website says I have none ?..........."For CO's offering rebates" ,If you offer a rebate ,and make us jump through hoops for it,then let us have it,or quit offering it....
Other Thoughts: I would rather pay full price than to fool with rebates that waste my time, when an item offers a rebate I keep looking around till I find one without it......thanks Newegg for all the great item and fast shipping ...

good speakers
Pros: good sound good price highs and vocals can get lost in surround.
Cons: at the time logitech had a 40 dollar rebate I they sent me email telling me it was valid and 2 months later nothing. I email them 2 weeks ago nothing. I would give this product 5 stars if I had paid the money I should have for them.
Other Thoughts: Logitech makes good stuff but I wouldn't count on a rebate.

good solution
Pros: I like the sound. The bass does get a little bit muddy if the volume is too high. My wife like the fact that you could customize the speakers with pictures. Coming from a 2.1 speaker set up this was a big improvement. Surround sound is great with DVDs and streaming video from netflix. The remote sound controller looks intimidating at first but is fairly intuitive.
Cons: rear speaker wires were too short but I was aware of that by reading other reviews and used patch cords from monoprice.com.
Other Thoughts: Hopefully, I will get the rebate from Logitech. That will make a good buy a great buy!

G51
Pros: good value; solid quality; easy setup; back speaker (s)cable length better than i expected; control panel module works well; matrix works fine (movies)
Cons: no digital esp optical; control panel module cable could be longer (very light con)
Other Thoughts: price jumps arround a bit; audiophiles likely wont go for a system like this but the average phile like me should like it; ; individual speaker volume control would be nice

Ok sound system
Pros: Only positive about this system is the surround boost in matrix mode. but I think the quality sounds a little cheesey.
Cons: When in matrix mode some sounds you can not hear but then when you switch it to regular you can hear them Example: Red Alert 3 when you taunt someone you cant hear the voice in matrix mode. Plus I think the subwoofer sounds just ok.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded this for better sound the matrix is cool cause it boosts the surround sound but I think the sound quality cold be better for what your buying

Pros: Great sound even with just 1 channel output and the matrix mode is great to have whan playing games because it allows you to know what is behind you before you see it.
Cons: eveything else i have is full of blue LEDs so the orange on the control pod is not my favorite but that isn't really a con as much as it is preferance
Other Thoughts: LOGITECH IS AWESOME

Pretty good speakers
Pros: These are pretty much the only 5.1 speakers in the price range. They pretty good the bass rly kicks gotta say.
Cons: The highs and mids on this system are not very good. This is a gaming setup NOT MADE FOR MUSIC. The matrix system is a joke never turn that on.
Other Thoughts: If you have a pretty good soundcard and looking for gaming more than music for your speakers go for it if your more into music id suggest spending a bit more money.

As Close to Perfection as Possible for the Price
Pros: Beautifully done. Logitech, from my experiences, have made very top-notch and high quality items for lower prices, and this sound system is no exception. The idea of having the microphone tied into the system is absolutely brilliant, allowing you to plug your microphone into the control pod, which conveniently sits right next to you at your desk, allowing you to control every aspect of your sound (also, note there's a headphone jack too). A really strong subwoofer with pretty good quality speakers to back it up (speaking of speakers, the LCD mountable center speaker works great, even with my rather-thick Acer P243w.) I had a six hour gaming session with it already, played Fable 2, Halo 3, Call of Duty 5, Call of Duty 4, GoW2, and Rock Band 2 and it sounds great.
Cons: This barely counts as a con, but the customizable inserts thing is a joke really. Unless you have a high quality printer with semi-gloss or matte photo paper, it just won't look that good (also the software was cheaply made).
The gold/champagne color is a bit offish but nothing wrong with it, I can live with it.
Other Thoughts: The matrix function for music made my music sound really bad and crackly, but currently I lay the blame on Realtek because their drivers won't work with Windows 7 Beta x64 and that means its trying to up-vert 2 channel garbage to 5.1 channel, but I can confirm the gaming matrix worked with all games and music worked with Rock Band 2 awesomely
The control pod is probably the highlight for me though, it's just a brilliant idea for gamers. Don't pass this up unless you're going with Bose or some extremely high-priced surround sound.

Someone is behind me!
Pros: Hmm where to start, Well the speaker quality is that expected from Logitech. Pure awesome! I researched these before I bought, lots of good reviews so I went with these. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the sub, Has the same look as the older ones with a more"now" look. I also noticed that when I was carrying it, my hand was up the sub underneath, put a huge smile on my face. The speakers are very nice as well, with the option to put custom pictures on the sides are pretty neat. The center one can be EASILY mounted on your monitor (flat screen) and stay on there. The controller is nice if your living in a place where you can't be to loud all the time. I like to have my surround sound and sub cranked during the day (gaming) and just ingore the music mode and go to regular mode when I have to be quiet. Very easy to mute and change everything to your liking.
Cons: Maybe it's just my sound card (ASUS Supreme FX) but some of the songs if you listen very closely, it sounds like a youtube video sound quality. VERY faint though.
Other Thoughts: I tested this out with an acoustic song, heavy metal song, and country song. The only thing I noticed was during the heavy metal song it sounded like the youtube video sound quality. Very little though. I think it is just my sound card so don't click the back button and chose a different one. These are VERY high quality speakers here. Awesome for gaming. Awesome for music, if you have a decent sound card. Even if you don't, still very impressed! I plan on putting a small cathode on the bottom to bring it a little more to life. :D

Nice
Pros: Very crisp sounding speakers... great for gaming.
Controls are very easy to use and allow you to fine tune your setup.
I'm sure it would sound even better with a decent sound card.
Cons: Didnt care for the matrix mode not really a con more of a personal preference.
Other Thoughts: Buy it.
They are great speakers.

Great
Pros: Absolutely beautiful sound. Makes gaming in 5.1 great, can get kinda scary when you actually hear something creeping from behind you.I like the design of the speakers and the power is amazing.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: Upgraded from their old 70watt 5.1, wasn't an intentional upgrade I actually won this for a screenshot contest in WoW. Figure since i buy all my stuff here, might at well review it.
plenty of special features. i even downloaded the software to make the inserts for the speakers. only actually used to get the cut out, most of the work was done on photoshop.

Nice
Pros: These little speakers make my music pop. They are crisp and still loud. The controller is very easy to use, and the you can fine tune your setup
Cons: This is not a con because the sub puts out all the bass you need. But i wish it was bigger than it is. its only like 4 - 6 inches.
Other Thoughts: I didnt like the Matrix Modes, But not bad enough to put as con. I LOVE these speakers. Makes games and music rock.

Nice 5.1 Speakers
Pros: It produces good sound for all applications such as movies, gaming, music, etc. Matrix modes are actually quite impressive. However...
Cons: The bass can get muddy when subwoofer volume is on too high. Does not have tweeters but still produces fairly clear high pitch sound.
Other Thoughts: If you are an audiophile, you should spend a little more for the Z5500. My girlfriend got me these so I can't really complain. One way to further improve the fidelity of these speakers is to get a excellent sound card such as any HT Omega that newegg is selling. From my experience, this brand produces great sound with the least headaches.

Great Value / Excellent Sound
Pros: Great Sound quality for the money and also great bang for buck. Plenty of sound for a computer system, anything more would be merely obnoxious. The controller is quite handy with its built in ports and easy controls.
Cons: The gold painted covers and plastics for the speakers and controller is kind of a poor choice in color by Logitech. Doesn't match many decors at all. I would have been happier with a simple all black plastic housing or maybe black/silver combo. Not a big deal.

These are great for the price.
Pros: Center speaker clips to the top of your LCD. Everything is color coded and set up is easy. Cables include ties for neat storage. Control module works just fine.
Plenty of watts for gaming.
Cons: Cables for the rear speakers are too short. The cables are color coded, but the speakers should have their position stamped on the back.
I've heard better speakers, but don't get me wrong, the price/performance is great.
No wall mounts. Bases are not adjustable.
Other Thoughts: Watched the James Taylor One Man Band DVD on my PC, it sounded great.
The Z-5500's are too expensive for a PC.
What are the AUX connections for?

Cheap 5.1 Set
Pros: Good quality, decent bass, cheap.
Obviously, if your looking for a setup for a larger room go with the Z5500's.
Cons: Matrix Mode is sometimes needed because Gaming mode is horrible if the source isn't true 5.1
Other Thoughts: Worth the $$$$ No complaints here.

All I can say is 'Wow.' Just 'Wow.'
Pros: Crisp, clear sound. Deep, punchy base. Nice response. The center speaker can hang over the top of your monitor. Control pod is nice. No cracking or popping like others have mentioned. SUPER fast shipping and great value from Newegg, as always.
Cons: I don't really consider this a con, but like everyone else said, the matrix mode makes music and games sound terrible. You're better off just listening to your music, setting the EQ to suit your listening tastes and forgetting about the matrix modes altogether.
Other Thoughts: Switched to these after using an old Aiwa bookshelf stereo, a couple Paradigm speakers and a powered Sony subwoofer though on-board audio. What a world of difference this makes.
I wonder how many people who are complaining of popping and cracking are using these speakers with on-board sound?

Wakes the rents good enough for me
Pros: Like my title says, If it wakes the rents, lol it's good enough for me. I'm coming from the old Logitech surround sound. HUGE difference. I love the control panel very easy to control. Three modes to choose from which are customizable. I didn't do this yet but I think you can take the side paneling off and you can put custom pictures and stuff on the speakers. The center one can be cliped on top of your monitor (flat panel) very nice.
Cons: The only thing is I hear a little crackling but i just switch different mode and it goes away.
Other Thoughts: Me personally, with my old Logitech's they crapped out 2 days after I got them, well the rear and center. After having them on my PS2 and coming on when a huge scary part is coming on.

Buy These Speakers
Pros: These speakers bring my audio quality to all time highs. The Control Pad makes controlling all the separate volumes from the master to subwoofer, surround, and center easy and efficient. The matrix modes work phenomenally. The Gaming Matrix turns all the sound I hear into crystal clear surround sound and the Music mode I never really use because Music actually sounds better to me on Gaming mode. Mounting these satellites on walls is a breeze and is a matter of unscrewing one screw then turning the bottom around 360 degrees, then screwing it tightly. The center channel doesn't fall off your monitor like my previous experiences taught me it might. My monitor is kind off irregularly flat as it will be flat in the back then lumps all of a sudden, but the center channel still is secure and will not fall unless someone smacks it. With the proper sound card for the green, black and orange jacks, you will get perfect sound.
Cons: I've had these speakers for a few days and if anything obvious was going to go wrong, it would have happened the first time these were turned on. I know these are good speakers, because I'm forcing myself to think of cons right now and am having the utmost trouble coming to one. There are no cons.
Other Thoughts: Doesn't come with some extra stuff, which I don't think justifies as a con because extra stuff isn't necessary. But the thing is, is that I wanted to wire the rear channel cables through the wall up and then across the ceiling, back down and then make them come out and plug into the subwoofer. This obviously takes alot of wire, and don't get me wrong, the rear channel satellites both have cables that look me at least 3 times longer than the front and center channels, but it still wasn't enough for what I had in mind. I fixed this easily by buying the extensions myself, but just so that people get an idea of what it kind of takes to make rear channels look nice on the wall if you haven't thought of this already. BUY THESE SPEAKERS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Power House
Pros: Wow do these things hit crisp and hard. I came from a 5.1 surround sound altec lansings which were more powerful but didn't push as hard as these. Gaming has become intense as well thanks to the red and white in the back making it easy to plug my 360 in. Got it for a gift...probably the best gift I got this christmas ^-^
Cons: Rear cords are wayyyyyyyyyyy too short...definetely going to need to get extenders. The matrix mode is crud...makes it all jittery.
Other Thoughts: Best bang for buck

Awesome Speakers
Pros: Very clear, love the separate control unit. Easy to set up. Booming bass when needed. Matrix options add alot to games and music. Very pretty to look at too.
Cons: Short rear cables? Not a problem for me yet.
Other Thoughts: Buy em.

Awesome
Pros: Quality Sound, Matches all my Logitech stuff, great aesthetics, hits hard in-terms of bass.
Cons: Very short rear cords, I have a relatively small room, and I wanted to mount them on the walls. These cords are only 6 feet, and I needed more, so I bought 14 foot rca extension cords.
Other Thoughts: Great system. Decent Pricing. Great Customer Support.
