Perfect for simple speakers
Pros: Great sound quality, good bass, awesome for watching movies, anime, and playing games.
Cons: middle, front right, and front left speaker cables are to short.
Other Thoughts: wish the sub was bigger and louder, but i just like to cause earthquakes.
9.5 out of 10

Good Sound
Pros: Makes surrond sound editing nice and the bass shakes the walls.
Cons: Irritates my fiance at times :)
Other Thoughts: Was hoping to have SPDI/F connections but oh well, still rocks!

Thesee fine arzze speakers
Pros: I got to admit, this is one fine speaker set-up. I figured I'd get some speakers that would be loud and cranking for a bit, but die after awhile, like most other PC speakers. I got them plugged into a HT Omega Striker, which can do its own number on speakers. So far, these speakers have performed awesome, crisp loud definitive sound, with no probs whatsoever. Probs are for the sound card anyways!!! lol. The thing is, there's a level of quality in these babies too. I have hammered on them here and there, and nada, no blips, booops, or blops. Always straight forward audio quality.
Cons: Well yah, theshipping on these is a bit ridiculous, but I wasn't too busted up about it due to the fact thta the set cost $50 overall, think of it as a $70 speaker set, and you won't need ot bust an egg.
Other Thoughts: I had not known what OEm speakers were.. I read somehwere some numbnuttz thought it would come without the cables and perephriels, noobs!! argh, but anyways, just to let people know, with this set anyways, it comes in plain box! LOL. No labeling, no UPC, etc, just a generic box, like it wa sdestined for Dell or something. And yesy yes Noob-bah-doog, it even comes with a manual.

Amazing Speakers! I can compair them to my Bose system!
Pros: These speakers are worth every penny! For the price you cannot complain, I had my friend birthday party and it was enough for 2 rooms and my living room.
Cons: Wires a bit short.

Great Sound, Great Buy!
Pros: Awesome sound! Turning the bass up and playing some techno vibrates the entire house. You can FEEL the air coming off the subwoofer as its playing, which is a ton more than I can say for most systems.
Cons: No remote, oh well, this system appears to be specifically designed for computer systems.
Only real con is the shipping, which is just about 45% of the product's price, but what can you expect from a heavy duty SS system?
Other Thoughts: Got this for my fathers system that I am building him (still have to get a new Mobo though, the one we got was DOA), sound is great, saving up (slowly) for this system myself, but, as a computer geek without a job, money is hard to come by.
...I need a job....

3 years running, still sound great
Pros: Very portable, small area displacment (yet great sound), have had mine for over three years (they were my first purchase from Newegg), no issues. Sound is very good for any price category.
Cons: No remote but at this price it's no issue. I actually got a remote with my DVD Player software and I use it to do just about everything that a remote does with a receiver. All you need do is set the volume to the loudest you'd want to hear this then use the remote to control the volume overall. Great sound with movies. A good sounding movie is Bad Girls where you can actually hear things in the background walking around. Cables are long enough for most but easily lengthened with RCA cable extensions (pamphlet says not too make the extensions too long). I wish there was a way to control each set of channels other than from the Windows/Linux software.
Other Thoughts: These are definitely loud enough for a kid's room (in fact maybe too loud for a kids room or a dormitory - paired with an older 4-watt boosted soundcard these things can be pretty loud. I have my rear speakers mounted on the suspended cieling here hung with plastic tape I grabbed out of some trash bags, they're that light.

good system
Pros: Great system, I can't even touch the nob on the speakers cause its to loud and the sub-woofer is way to sweet for my house.
Cons: just the stand is a little stupid and no optical.
Other Thoughts: Nice price for this set. I grew up with a home surrond sound system in my house and this beats that. I use it for my Xbox 360 and computer and both are amazing. I dont get any crackling out of it and the sounds are clear as hell. This is also my 5th speaker system. Out of the five i've had this is the best one. The sub woffer has to stay really low in my house cause you could be across the street and still hear the rumbling of the house and the speakers are down pretty low not even a 3rd high cause the sounds are speakers are there great. I've had the cops called on me three times for these so I know there good if the police come knocking on my door to turn them down.

great for price
Pros: Well these sound great for the price I paid, you can hardly buy a good set of 2.1 speakers for this price. The sound is pretty clean, and the bass is great. The speakers have a nice look, and go well with my Acer monitor.
Cons: At high volumes some of the frequencies clip, but for $59, big deal.
Other Thoughts: If you want better sound than these, you will have to spend hundreds more. These will be more than fine for 95% of people.

Suits the purpose
Pros: Sound is adequate. I considered many different speakers and decided not to blow a wad on computer speakers. I am generally happy with the speakers as they have a nice small footprint on my desk. The sound does not bowl me over but when I sit 2 feet from them the sound is just fine. I have the subwoofer turned all the way down and am using a third party bass manager. The bass sounds better than I would have expected.
Cons: Not the most attractive speakers but not ugly. The center channel will occasionally dominate the sound spectrum. Most of the time this is not a problem.
Other Thoughts: I originally purchased the X-540 but I returned it. I did not like the remote as it always got covered with papers. The volume is on the speaker as has been tradition since the old multimedia PCs first included speakers. I like it better. The difference in sound is none. These sound just as good as the 540 but were less expensive. Just wish these had the grilles the 540 had. In conclusion I am happy with the speakers but they are nothing to write home about. I wouldn't recommend them but I also would not discourage someone from buying them. For the money they are perfect!

Disapointed
Pros: Well the main Pros are price, and for me that the sub, front left, right and rear right speakers worked perfectly.
Cons: Well the cons for me on these speakers were that with in the first hours of owning them the center speaker started to go and i have to mess with the the back of the cord to get in to produce sound with out it bleeding to the front speakers. Now the rear left is doing the same. So for both of them i have to mess and tape the cords just to get them to work right.
Other Thoughts: Well at first i thought it was just a bad set no biggy but my friend had the same set that died from the same reason so poor job on Logitech.

sounds good!
Pros: the speakers sound great, they look great, the wire lengths are just about perfect for my situation, and though some have complained about it i kind of like the bass control knob to be on the woofer (its very easy for me to reach)
Cons: i cant really hear the best of what these speakers have to offer because i'm still running on onboard sound, but that will all change this christmas =)

Great budget 5.1 speaker set
Pros: Well, to start off these are very well priced for a 5.1 set They offer surprisingly clear and rich sound for being so cheap. Very easy to setup Sub is very powerful Satellites sound clear and don't distort as far as I'm concerned Speakers can swivel to be wall-mounted which works well
Newegg has very good shipping :-D
Cons: Front speaker cables are short Sub volume is on the back of the woofer Headphone jack doesn't amplify
Other Thoughts: However, these may not have the features that some of the fancier systems do that sure as heck doesn't mean they don't deliver great sound. Don't listen to people who whine about this having no digital inputs because they seem to not understand what they are paying for. If you desperately need optical or coaxial inputs get the Z-5500 which are also great speakers and are very cheap at the moment. The bottom line is they are cheap and give great sound for any user who wants to invest in a 5.1 setup without breaking the bank. These are awesome.

amazing
Pros: Theese are awesome. theyre cheap, loud, and REALLY high quality!
Cons: the control panel is on the speaker. would have been better if there was a separate remote to control sound like on X-540 so that you could put the speakers up on the wall. but dont think this worth the egg off.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy theese if you have older dell PCs(bought in 2006 or earlier) seems like sigmatel doesnt support drivers for their older sound adapters. There are no drivers for vista. If u use XP driver, only 2 out of 5 speakers and woofa will work. middle, and read speakers will not work

Great Speakers! Especially for this price!
Pros: Great sound for the price, thats for sure!
Cons: None I can think of.
Other Thoughts: I'm not an "audiophile" I just want speakers with decent sound for the occassion music and my games, these speakers fulfill that desire EASILY... Great sound on both high and lows, and just the right amount of bass to satisfy even the novice!

Great
Pros: Sub woofer just rocks out loud. The other 5 speakers are great.
Cons: Sometimes sounds like there's a bit too much treble compared to bass. Then i just turn up the woofer. xD
Other Thoughts: Had a computer that didn't support 5.1, but i used the adapter with a plug i had which goes from audio source to a red and white audio cable (like with game systems) It was a weird setup, but worked great. Awesome sound. Now i have a mobo that supports 5.1 and it's still great.

WOW amazing speakers
Pros: THESE SPEAKERS ARE AMAZING!! These are the best bang for the buck, best quality, very inexpensive, if you are looking for some kick*** speakers for a budget, this is the way to go! The subwoofer delivers alot of really good bass and its really balanced and synchronized. For any type of music it kicks so much **! (electro/house/techno plays the best!) For gamers: lets say ur playing counterstrike and ur tired of getting knifed in the back, well with this surround sound u can easily tell where the footsteps are. I tied the rear speakers to my chair, looks kinda ugly (cuz i did it with a rubber band) but it really helps!
also, you know how sometimes wen u turn the volume up real loud and it starts to crackle and pop? well that wont happen with these speakers, they go up pretty loud, last night i played Maurizio Gubellini - Equinoxe on the highest volume and there was no crackling whatsoever, i woke up the neighbors lol
Cons: absolutely none!
Other Thoughts: BUY THEM NOW!!!
keep in mind your motherboard/soundcard needs to support a certain amount of channels to be able to use the rear speakers. my old computer has integrated sound and the back speakers dont work. this is will be the case with every speakers that you buy so dont get frustrated just at these babies. they'll kick your budget speaker's ***!

Not bad for the price
Pros: This is a reasonably priced 5.1 setup. The bass is very decent and the highs are bright. Headphone jack and adjustable bass on the sub are nice features. Good value for the price.
Cons: These are computer speakers, not suited for home theater and not for audiophiles. Also, the cables are relatively short, which reflects the intended use of the system in a small desktop space.

Not as good as reviews show.
Pros: Still working , bought in august 06 from newegg. 5.1 sound. Were pretty cheap.
Cons: Bad sub.
Other Thoughts: The sub on this system is plain weak. I keep my volume at maybe 18% on the knob and about 65% (set by my sound card) The speakers give great sound. And clear. But the sub bottoms out and mostly just humms and gives very distorted thumps that can be felt around the room. During what i would call loud parts of music, it almost does just a str8 up and no rythem to the sub.

Quality for this Cost is Amazing!
Pros: For how inexpensive these set of speakers were for the cost of it. $54.99 on August 25th, 2008, I am wondering how or WHY Logitech would sell these for so cheap. The quality of these speakers are amazing. Of course, the wattage for the sub-woofer isn't godly amazing, but I don't want to be waking the entire neighborhood up anyways. A 3/4 of max bass setting the woofer makes my entire room shake. So it is definitely overkill for my needs. The small speakers are amazing as well and each have a mesh protecting and covering each one from pressure and/or unwanted dust. 5.1 surround sound works, just popped in a dvd and I am getting 5.1 instantly. The effect is amazing. Almost like my home theatre system downstairs. The black shine on all these speakers give a very clean and professional look, you will not be disappointed on how good these things will look on your desk. Sound is crystal clear and absolutely no hissing when silent. PROS continued on Cons, cuz it's THAT GOOD.
Cons: NO CONS. Didn't even have to think about what to plug in, or what type of sound card to get. Just match green with green, orange with orange and black with black. NO confusion at all. The size of the speakers are great and they are low profile, they can fit almost anywhere. All speakers can swivel their base, for wall mounting. I wish there was a better way for my to manage my speaker cables, as some of these cables are very long :( though people who plan on using this in a large room, might want to reconsider, as they are perfect for a small room, but probably not long enough for a larger room.
Other Thoughts: I have a on-board 7.1 Audio from Realtek and the sound quality is amazing, the two work great together. No problems at all for a solid 2 months. My setup: Asus Z7S WS, 2xIntel Xeon E5430, 8GB Cruical FB-DIMM DDR2-800, 300GB VelociRaptor, 3x500GB Seagate HDD, ASUS 4870x2, Corsair 1000W PSU, Watercooling with EK Supreme and Thermochill PA120.3. OCing @ 2.92Ghz 24/7 rock solid stable. 40 second cinebench10, superpi to 32M in 17 minutes.

GREAT!
Pros: GREAT clarity, 5.1, surround sound, cables are good enough length for me, works with my SB Audigy... VERY loud (:D), and if I turn the volume high enough it tickles my foot from the vibrations on the carpet! :D
Cons: bought at walmart for 75 dollars.. 55 on newegg :(, but add in shipping and wait time... :S
Other Thoughts: ..20 flippin bucks..

Great entry level 5.1's
Pros: The quality of these speakers in comparison to the price is amazing.
Cons: Rear speaker cable is kind of short, even for the small room i have my computer in.

Still good as new
Pros: Have owned these speakers for almost two years now, and will probably continue to use them long into the future. It is great to hear sound wherever I am in my room, and it is hard for me to play a game on a computer the doesn't have a surround sound setup (not really, but I do feel deprived).
Cons: The cables are a little short, but it isn't that hard or expensive to buy some extension cables to make it work
Other Thoughts: Bought these for a little over a hundred brand new two years ago. Don't know how they compare to newer systems, but the value for the quality seems pretty good to me

Great Speakers
Pros: High Quality, pretty beefy, aka you drop them they won't scratch bad or break. They look and sound nice, and they're pretty easy to work with. The center speaker grips tight on top of my big CRT, in my case with a small area, it helps a lot.
Cons: Subwoofer is as big as my monitor?
Other Thoughts: This may be in my setup, but my rear speakers are considerably louder then the fronts, I probably set it up wrong.
Rear cables are a good length, fronts are too, at least for my cramped set up.

Good
Pros: good bass woofer Perfect amount of power for a computer system all in one room Volume to spare easy to set up easy to add other speakers
Cons: As is this system has no High's It is completely all mids it doesnt sound too bad... but for someone that wants good quality sound it can be bothersome. I just switched the center speaker with one i had that has a bass speaker a port and a tweeter and i replaced the two rear's with some old speakers i had NOW it sounds amazing!!! the only problem with how it was was that all the speakers were the same size it came with 10 2 inch speakers no horns
Other Thoughts: I would get if you have some good sounding speakers that you cud replace some of the speakers with
Dont get me wrong they sound good its just in a good system u have a variety of sizes so you get the full range of EQ

Great sound for the price!
Pros: Easy to set up. Inexpensive. They work well. They look nice. They fit on my desk. I bought these mostly for gaming, and all my games sound great. The power and volume controls are convenient for me. It will be easy to wall-mount my rear speakers, I'll do that this weekend.
Cons: I haven't used these with headphones yet, but everyone else has already mentioned the inconvenience of the headphone volume not controlled by the master volume know.
Other Thoughts: I got these to replace some truly cheap and cheesy speakers, I am so much happier with the sound.

Speaker
Pros: Easy to use and VERY easy to set up. Basically a plug and play for me. I even bought a second set to compliment my HDTV and console! The sound is very very crisp and the bass is phenomenal! They're cheap in price, but not in quality
Cons: As with the other Cons people have talked about, the speaker volume isn't controlled by the volume knob. This for me is not a problem at all since I use a USB headset.
Other Thoughts: These speakers easily double as a surround sound for your TV. The chords are long enough for me

Pros: Great sound! All of them are set up and working wonderfully. I don't really need much bass so this is perfect for me.
Cons: The 2 back speaker cables are a little short, but you can get extenders for them so it's not that big of a deal.
Other Thoughts: Great speakers! My last ones were about 10-12 years old so this is a big improvement for me! Very clear sound.

Great speakers!
Pros: Great sound, easy to set up. Good length on surround speaker wires. Great bass!! Wall mountable.
Cons: Headphone jack is not controlled by speaker volume knob.
Other Thoughts: This is my second set of these speakers. I also owned the more expensive X-540 set. I think this set sounds better than the X-540. These seem to put out more bass. It could be because the '540 has a remote bass control and the '530's bass control is located on the subwoofer. AS stated above, the only gripe I have with this set is that the headphone volume is not controlled by the speaker volume knob. If you want to adjust the volume, you have to go into the Windows volume control. I find that a little annoying when playing a game. I don't use headphones very much, so this does not detract from the overall score IMO.

watch out
Pros: Great sound. Better than alot of home theatre setups I've heard. INCREDIBLE BASS.
Cons: Short cables. Not alot of wattage.
Other Thoughts: BE CAREFULL!!! The cables were a little short for hooking up to my TV in my apartment. So logically I bought some extension cables. The right front speaker uses D-Sub so I figured I could extend that as well. DO NOT DO THAT. I fried my subwoofer by trying to extend it now I have to get another :(. After frying it I looked at logitech's website and they say you can extend the RCA cabled speakers but not the right front one ( I wonder why *Sigh*). Overall great though.

To the person asking about inputs
Pros: Good sound for the price, great first pair of speakers without overdoing it
Cons: The X-540s beat them
Other Thoughts: These speakers have the standard 3 plug Green, Black, Orange inputs, that's all they have.

Great sound, great price
Pros: Output is great and very loud, with what seems to be a wide range of sound levels... I connected this to my Xbox and heard things I had never heard before with my TV! Bass on the woofer exceeded my expectations and brings my movies and games to life with powerful rumbles jolting throughout the room. It came with an audio adapter so I can switch between plugging this into the 8-channel audio on my PC and using the two audio cables from my Xbox. All the speakers are visually pleasing and sharp looking so it's a compliment to any room where the color black fits in (everywhere?) The price is right for this wonderful system, and I highly recommend it.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: The front center speaker looks like WALL-E.

great deal
Pros: great sound, easy hookup, rear speaker cable length. bass is really strong, can vibrate your desk and floor. really noticeble if goiung from 2.1 speakers.
Cons: short left and right speakers though easily fixed with extentions. also, not every box includes the audio adapter!
Other Thoughts: i bought these from wmart only because of the new tax and high shipping fee. also all the retail boxes come with adapter. would buy from newegg, but only the retail box version.

Excellent!
Pros: Very loud. 5.1. Excellent quality. Wall-mountable. I highly recommend these for anyone wanting their first set of 5.1 speakers, or for someone who is looking for a cheap set of quality speakers. Cable length on the rear speakers is nice.
Cons: My subwoofer will sometimes feedback, but that is expected when I have everything turned up all the way :P The front left speaker cable is a bit short, since the subwoofer is supposed to be kept on the right side of the setup anyway.
Other Thoughts: The difference between 5.1 and 2.1 is like night and day. If you are debating on wither to go with a surround sound system or not, definitely go 5.1.

cannot be beat for the price
Pros: These bad boys get loud, especially if this is for a bedroom or small room like I have. I heard things I never heard before in games and movies, and I stress tested my music (metal/hardcore) on max everything until I couldn't stand it... and there was zero sound tearing/popping/static at all... simply amazing speakers! And they're cheap too!
Cons: The ONLY con I can think of is the front left and front right speaker wire are a LITTLE too short... they worked perfect for me on a standard desk, but I can see how others might be effected by this.
Other Thoughts: I used to use 2.1 speakers, and really really loved their sound, so it was years before I upgraded to these. I was thinking, 'ok, these cant be that much better', and after playing just a stereo MP3 file, was blown away. I then fired up COD4 to test the 5.1 sound... the speakers had me convinced that men were behind me shooting at me. These speakers are hands down a phenomenal deal!

Fantastic
Pros: Excellent sound; music is terrific, especially compared to my old stereo speakers I used to have. Games sound great, just went back and played all the COD games, CoH, and Source-based games (still playing Counterstrike and TF2). Couldn't be happier.
Cons: I paid 70 bucks a year ago for these. My fault though. Didn't have the back two speakers or front middle speakers in use until I got a working sound card. Once again, my fault
Other Thoughts: I have an old dell dimension something (I don't remember the model number, and I've decided the computer is too far away to look at it) and the motherboard in it didn't have onboard sound. It did however have a Creative SB Live! card. Not very good. Just replaced it with a Creative SB Audigy SE and couldn't be happier with the difference. It's huge, trust me.

Crazy
Pros: I've had these speakers when i 1st build my system and they have worked great! The sound is pretty good for the cost and the 4 speakers work well with FPS's as well as almost any other shooter game. Very Loud when you wanna show them off and look great sitting on a desk next to a big 22 inch black monitor =D
Cons: Only thing i can say against these bay boys is the bass control on the side of the sub went out about a year ago. If you move it + / - the sub wont work at all, like i can't turn it all the way to the max, i have to tweak it down just a bit for it to work without cutting out some, But i can't tell if i don't touch the Sub Control.
Other Thoughts: Great For The Price, But Full Blasting Just Isnt The Best.

Overall good speakers
Pros: These speakers sound great! The woofer has booming bass. I really like the headphone jack and the power button on one of the front speakers.
Cons: The cloth that covers the speakers seems a bit fragile. I always feel uneasy when dusting the speakers with a moist cloth. . . . like I might tear the material. I haven't though, but be careful.
Other Thoughts: I've watched movies on my PC with these speakers. To be honest, I'm not into the whole 5.1 speaker system. You have LF and RF speakers, and the the front center speaker, which is never used for music. On DVDs I watch, the sound mainly comes out of the front center speaker more then LF and RF speakers. Not really a fault of these speakers. It's just the whole 5.1 paradigm in general.

Blew Me Away!
Pros: These Speakers are terrific. Coming from monitor speakers these are great. I bought them about 3months ago. They worked great, bass is tremendous. Definitely will make the neighbors cranky. The first set had a mishap with the power but they were replaced for free. Replacements couldn't be better, very easy to set up. Cables are plenty long, wire management is excellent.
Cons: The bass control is on the back of the bass unit :\ These aren't really meant to be blasted at max without some distortion. You will find that mid-high the bass is underpowered to the tremble and is distorted. although the satellites work great mid-high. Center Speaker is abit odd, only speaker not wall mountable, so it will have to sit in front of your monitor. Unless you have a CRT for it to sit atop.
Other Thoughts: Low-Mid these puppies are amazing, bass is perfect if turned up alittle. I would recommend these for anyone who wants better sound quality. When not blasting these you can plug your headphones into the Right-Front speaker, ubt you cannot control the headphone volume that way :\ but you can still plug into them if they are turned off and Jam that way.

Great quality, long lasting
Pros: Amazing speakers. I've had them for almost 4 years now. The quality is great, and there really cheap. The sub produced very good lows, and everything else sounds cyrstal clear with my X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card.
Cons: Primary/Main speaker's (green jack, speaker with the volume knob and power bottom) jack is faulty. Now one of the speakers doesn't work.
Other Thoughts: After getting a nice 4 years out of these, I'm picking up another set.

fantastic!
Pros: Easy Installation. very simple color coded wires. I got these speakers as a replacement for my 2.0 old 90s speakers that were going bad and WOW!. this with a Sound Blaster Audigy is the best combination for the most clear sound you will ever have!. people complain about the bass not being able to take much without buzzing or something but I've maxed mine out with no problems :D.
I recommend this for the budget user. the price cannot be beat
Cons: none. has always been awesome!

Fantastic Speakers
Pros: what is not to like about these , they put out some very good sound with out being muddy. Made my sound card come alive . These realy sound better then a more expensive Altec lansings 2.1s' that cost me 100 bucks, and put out more volume !
Cons: poor placement of the subwolfer volume knob it is located on the back of the subwolfer . UPS is slow 5 days to get these but I cant complain too much with free shipping
Other Thoughts: best bang for the buck .

Pros: These are the only part of my four-year-old PC build which are still relevant (and aren't listed as deactivated items). I have not had any problems with these or replaced them since. These sound great for games, movies, and music, and are fairly portable so that they take up little desk space. The cords are nice and long for the rear speakers. Other convenience options are great as well; for example, the headphone jack on the front-left speaker's bezel is great, and certainly beats plugging headphones directly into a sound card or back of a PC case. Sound quality is excellent for a 70w set, and only barely gets distorted at the extreme high end.
Cons: No remote, so you'll have to bend down to the subwoofer and reach around the back every time you want to adjust the bass balance. Not a big deal, especially if you aren't too finicky about your sound and won't be adjusting it that much.
Also, these tend to aggravate neighbors and roommates. Be courteous and all that and keep the bass turned down :-)
Other Thoughts: Motherboards' built-in audio chipsets tend to be finicky on 5.1 surround performance, and operating surround sound without a dedicated sound card takes a bit of processor load as well. I'd highly recommend an X-Fi card (even one of the cheaper ones) to go with ANY 5.1 sound system instead of integrated motherboard sound. This will improve both sound quality and system performance, as it moves sound-processing off of the main CPU and frees it up for other tasks.
Also, most dedicated sound cards support some sort of stereo scaling (motherboards' integrated sound do not), so you'll be able to use all 6 speakers even with just a stereo source. This has been invaluable to me for listening to music, as the immersion of listening to a song played by 5 speakers all around you is much superior to plain-old stereo sound.
All in all, while a dedicated sound card is certainly not required for a 5.1 setup, the quality and performance gains are very noticeable and worth the buy.

Still working good
Pros: Good sound quality, the setup was easy.
Cons: Rear speakers have poor volume, which saddened me. If you want to actually hear the rear speakers you'll have to turn down the volume of the front speakers to 1/2 way or less.
Other Thoughts: I've had these for a while now, probably 3 years. At least I think so.

Good deal
Pros: Good buy for the money. Easy to setup since everything was clearly labeled. Nice sounding set of speakers.
Cons: Subwoofer can get "thuddy" sometimes. Doesn't get to earsplitting volumes (depending, this may not be a con).
Other Thoughts: Great value. Expensive shipping - had to come separately.

Gorgeous sound
Pros: Amazing sound quality. Huge upgrade from my old Altec-Lansing two-speaker setup (even though those were nice speakers themselves). Setup wasn't too bad, connections are well-labeled. The difference for movies is amazing, as is the difference in games (notably Crysis). Subwoofer is powerful without being overwhelming to the rest of the audio -- i have the level about halfway with the speaker under my desk and it sounds great.
Cons: Rear speaker wires could stand to be about two feet longer for my setup, not a huge deal.
Other Thoughts: Haven't tried using the headphone jack on the front right speaker, so can't comment on that. UPS took decent care of the box. Great prices on Newegg as always. Absolutely glorious sound, well worth the money.

Poor choice
Pros: Provides surround sound
Cons: I have other Logitech speaker systems that work well, but the quality of this system is very poor. With the volume control up to tne maximum, we could not hear soft dialog in a commercial dvd movie.
Other Thoughts: Most of what I listen to, such as classical, does not use surround. I was misiformed about its utility.

Nice surround sound for your pc
Pros: These speakers sound great and provide huge enhancement over my last set. They get more then loud enough for me and the bass is deep. If your looking for an affordable surround sound for your pc with a great sound this is the one your looking for.
Cons: The wires aren't very long so I had to go and by extenders to place the speakers in an ideal location.

Nice Product
Pros: For a 70-Watt set of computer speakers these are really decent. I was skeptical at first because quite frankly I was used to bose and their sound quality, but I did not have the money for bose so I went with these. The quality of these speakers for the price is absolutely impressing and the amount of sound they put out is just as impressive. Over all great buy.
Cons: The cords on this product are really short so don't put them in a big room. this problem can be easily fix by buying audio extension cords. (If you live in an apartment the bass will travel through walls no matter how low you turn the sub woofer and if there is more than one person living in your house they could find it annoying. I wouldn't call this a con though.)
Other Thoughts: I am running these speakers with a 24-bit sound blaster audigy and the quality is amazing. The first game I played when I completed the set up was Bf2 and I was constantly, literally, turning around to look behind me because I was not use to surround sound. Same thing happened with the first couple of movies I watched these. I kept thinking some one entered the room.

Great Sound!
Pros: Great sound quality for the price!! This is probably the best quality of sound from a 5.1 system that you are going to get for your money.
Cons: None really
Other Thoughts: It also comes with a Audio RCA adapter/3.5mm plug so you can hook up your PS3's or Xbox 360. While testing the volume yield I was able to turn it to about 95% volume before the sound started to distort.

Very satisfied
Pros: For the price, the sound is superb! I use these for listening to music mostly (HIMH, anyone?), but also for movies and video games. They still sound great even when cranked up. They do kick out the sound pretty well, though not as much as some higher wattage speakers (duh!). That is probably a good thing since my neighbors may not like it if these cranked at 150+ watts. The 70 watts RMS is plenty for me right now. I also really enjoy the surround feature. My other speakers were only 2.1 - the 5.1 surround sounds great if you have the speakers positioned and set up correctly with your onboard sound (or sound card).
Cons: Sound can be distorted sometimes, but it is rare.
Other Thoughts: I relied on the reviews here, as well as listening to a similar model (X-540) at a local store. I had purchased a much less expensive set, and was sorely disappointed by those. I returned the inferior models and ordered these immediately after. I have no regrets for this purchase, or believing the positive reviews here. These speakers are great! If you are on a budget, but want great sound, then do not hesitate - get these. They are well worth the money.

Awesome sound
Pros: Ive had my system for more then 2 years now and it just sounds perfect. Loud, bass bumping, and sexy. It matches my computer and everything.
Cons: Not sure if it was on sale or anything. The only other thing I dont like is that it doesn't have a small control with it. Like most new 5.1 sound system, they come with a extra sound control panel.

Pros: Great speakers have had them over a year and the quality hasn't changed a bit. the sub is great and even though I've blasted it many of times for hours and hours it hasn't died out changed at all.
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: The sub could have more watts but i paid 70$ instead of 200$, for some insane set, so it's a great buy.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME
Pros: These spkrs blow away any others at 2 - 3 times the price. A snap to connect, GREAT bass, virtually no distortion in any range. Good looking. If you're even slightly considering purchasing new spkrs, stop thinking about it & get these. They are truly AWESOME. Best bang for the buck by far.
Cons: If I had to pick a con, there are two, and the addition of these would make these spkrs absolutely PERFECT. I would add a tweeter or a control next to the volume for treble. Due to my configuration, the cords on the front right spkr are a little short. The rear cords could be longer, but that's easily fixed. I had to purchase an extender cable for the main cord to the sub, but I don't care, the sound is well worth that little expense.
Other Thoughts: Logitech & newegg have certainly outdone themselves by offering this set-up. I can't describe how surprised I was when I fired them up. Fantastic sound, can't say enough about it. Buy 'em, Buy 'em now!!! you won't be sorry!

great product
Pros: pure and beautiful sound, they look great (imo, better looking than the x 540's)
bass is clear and there is no distortion to speak of, 5.1 works great in games and movies that support it.
no complaints here
Cons: none

These speakers sound awesome!!
Pros: These speakers were a great price. They sound really great especially in a smaller room. I actually bought them for my DVD player and love them.
Cons: There is no remote.
Other Thoughts: You are not purchasing a several hundred dollar surround sound system. This is a small system, but it has more power than it would appear. If you are looking for a huge sound you probably need a bigger system. If you are just looking for a nice system to fill a small room, these a great option.

excellent worth every single penny
Pros: excellent sound. bass is powerful, full, rich, and crisp. it hits hard too. it is very comparable to high end sound systems you pay 300$ for. speakers ajust for wall-mounting.
Cons: only 2 things i can think of. it uses a d-sub type connector maybe proprietary, to connect to subwoofer. rear speakers dont have enough cord for me but every sound system is like that.
Other Thoughts: i bought a cheap 5.1 from newegg just to get 5.1 sound. cost about 25$. d*t 5.1 picked up interference with a clock radio and had buzzing noise. i only wish i bought this earler and spent 20$ more. it is totally worth it. there should be nothing to stop you from buying this.

Good,more than enough power
Pros: Can do full 5:1,has very nice bass, has worked well for both my TV and my Computers.Sound quality is very good. Can wake up the neighbors now.
Cons: Wires...OF course every 5:1 system has this problem.
Other Thoughts: For those of you who complain about bad quality at higher volume, just turn up on your PC the overall output volume. This can be a setback, because there will be more static at higher exposure unless you set it on a higher output.I have two of those, which were gifts.

Speaker System
Pros: For a $60 sound system, it's worth double what i paid. Great sound , nice base, and doesn't take up alot of room.
Cons: none.
Other Thoughts: If your a serious gamer nerd and you need to hear the footsteps of the enemy 200 yards out, buy a better speaker system.

GREAT VALUE
Pros: These Are AMAZING. For the price, these speakers deliver. The base is great, although there IS a sweet spot. At very high volumes the base gets a little choppy but not for normal volumes. Easy to mount or stand on a desk.
Cons: Rear speaker cables are a bit short for a large room...
Other Thoughts: You (obviously) need a 5.1 sound card to use these. I plugged them into my TV and watched Transformers, sounded AMAZING, the action was vivid and sounded beautiful.

Excellent Speakers
Pros: I have had these speakers for at least 2 years, possibly 3 or 4, my memory fails me here. Just recently (the past week or two) these speakers have started to distort at 3/4+ volume level. Up until then, I never noticed any distortion except at max volume, and most of that distortion was from the sub-woofer. I don't know much about the different levels of sound but I would venture to say these speakers cover all levels very well.
Cons: A couple of weeks ago (somewhere from 2-4 years after purchase) the tube in the sub-woofer that directs air out of the side broke off on the inside and is causing mild distortion/rattling at high volumes. The way the stands rotate makes it difficult to aim the speakers directly at you (they all tilt up a little bit no matter what angle you have them.) But it is not too inconvenient to bother me at all.
Other Thoughts: I wired these into my car for fun once, using my mp3 player instead of the radio, and the sound was at least 5 times higher quality than the car's default speakers. Considering the car has no sound insulation, is a full sized SUV, and has experienced extreme wear and tear, the fact that I can hear these speakers loudly and clearly WITH windows down is amazing...

Great Value
Pros: Best low-cost 5.1 system. Terrific sound quality. Headphone jack on speaker. Easy set-up. Good bass and overall crisp sound.
Cons: Speaker stands are not really adjustable. Bass can get washed out at high volume, but you get what you pay for.
Other Thoughts: My first set's right speaker volume control was smashed inwards and broken. It is poorly packed because the volume control sticks out so pressure on that part of the box will break it. Not really a huge deal. I returned them and Newegg had my new system here in four business days.

Two Years & Still Going Strong
Pros: I've now had these for two years and two months, and I've had no problems with them. I bought them mainly for listening to 5.1 albums, such as Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon, but I also do a lot of home recording, running a number of guitars through a Line 6 PODxt Live through the soundcard's Line In. These speakers handle any volume fine with no distortion. I've also used them for playing EA's Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142, and they simply kick a**.
Cons: The speaker bases are kind of tricky to accomplish a true surround sound setup, but I remedied that by removing the stands on the rear two speakers, and modifying two microphone holders to mount them on mic stands. Also, it can be tricky to balance the volume levels from music software, instrument inputs, and game output, but once you do that and calibrate the surround settings, this setup works flawlessly.
Other Thoughts: If you do hear any additional noise, it's more likely to be something else on your desk rattling from the speakers.

So good, I came back to write a review
Pros: I was just listening to some music, and I love the sound of these speakers so much that I came over here to write a review. I've had these speakers for nearly a year and they're GREAT! The sub volume knob is nice for pumping it up or toning down. I've dropped the speakers many times, and never have had a problem with them. They were packaged well, and as always, newegg made it all easy! The headphone jack on the right front is a plus also.
Cons: The only downside is that the rear speakers could use a little more wiring. Expect to splice 'n dice wires if you plan on setting these up in the far reaches of your room.
Other Thoughts: Buy them now!

I am happy =)
Pros: These speakers are awesome, all my music sounds better, and Counter Strike sounds amazing. For the price, I mean come on, they should blow your mind, especially if you are like me and you were using a 2.1 setup before these.
Cons: The bass of the sub is way too high. I reconfigured it in iTunes, but other things that dont allow you to do that play the Bass way to high for me. if anyone knows of a way to fix that, let me know: animeguy0790@hotmail.com
Other than that, I have no cons, although that is a bit of a headache... I have the sub volume all the way down and it still plays WAY louder than my music.... oh well... itd also be nice if the sub's volume didnt go up along with the other speakers.
Other Thoughts: Overall great buy, I recommend it to my friends, so I do the same to you. ^-^

good product
Pros: Good speakers, the sound is good, using with onboard sound and I like it. Arrived perfect, "egg" delivered fast.
Cons: No cons.
Other Thoughts: Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers are good for average sound, price is good, product is good, nothing else to say, execpt buy it, from Newegg of course.

Wonderful sound!! Great looks
Pros: Although I'm not a perfectionist when it comes to sound systems, I know what sounds good to me...this set has GREAT sound!! The connections are all intuitively color-coded to make set-up a breeze. The woofer gives it just the right amount of deep rumble and thump without overwhelming the rest. The finish on all of the speakers is immaculate, they are heavy enough to feel good and solid, the feet on each unit provide good traction so they don't tend to get bumped out of place easily. I feel like I made the best buy for the money on the market with this set; I'm not sure I could have gotten better sound even with a set costing 3 times as much.
Cons: Wish some of the cables were a little longer so they would reach the corners of the room, but that's fixable with a little time and some wire. Otherwise I haven't found anything to complain about.
Other Thoughts: If you want great sound and the best bang for your buck, look no further. This set is it!!

Great Speakers
Pros: Great set of speakers. Completely blow my old 2.1 setup out of the water. The chords are all pretty good length, no problem stretching around a small room.
Cons: Bass can get a bit wobbley if set too loud. Center speaker is impossible to put onto flat screen but not really a problem.
Other Thoughts: When I first set this up, I plugged it into my motherboard sound and all except the front center speaker worked. I tried using my creative soundblaster live! 24bit sound card and that only let 2 speakers work. I tried motherboard sound again, but updated to the latest realtek ac97 drivers and then all the speakers worked. So warning to everybody, update your drivers if you use onboard sound.

Pleased for the most part.
Pros: Good sound quality for the price.
Cons: The front speaker cables are a little short. This is an issue for me when running the cables behind the desk and around to my tower.
Other Thoughts: If you turn the power on and off on the right front speaker along with your PC daily, the speaker mesh starts to tear away a little. Not a con because I turn it on and off every day and I suppose I'd expect it to wear a little. Drives me crazy though.

Great Purchase
Pros: I have owned these speakers going on five years now and I must say I rock them from time to time. They have a clean crisp sound to them that you really can't believe for the price. My friend bought the 2.1 version of these and they are great too.
Cons: If you have a very big desk at all, you'll find the cords just a little to short. You might want to invest in some extentions from a local audio dealer to acheive proper setting of the speakers in the rear surround area.
Other Thoughts: If your wanting to set these on a wall type surface, the stands swivle and have a place to hold a screw that you can slide over once placed. I have a cheap 15 dallor card and these still sound great. Also, another reason I bought them was the headphone jack on the main speaker next to the volume. My case came without a jack on the front to my surprize and this worked out better anyway.

Very high quality speakers!
Pros: These speakers are fantastic, I've been using them for almost a year and a half, probably 4-5 hours per day of music or movies on a medium-loud volume. The sub sounds good for almost everything. Very handy headphones port, and I like how the power switch is not on the volume knob, so you can turn them on and off without changing volume. They look awesome to boot!
Cons: Of course, these aren't going to hit the super low frequencies of hardcore gangster rap, but for any reasonable frequency, they sound great :-)
Other Thoughts: If you plan on just using the front speakers due to limited space, make sure you plug the audio ports on the back of the sub, I just taped over the hole. If you don't, the sub won't sound good and it will sound like it is rattling from the air coming in/out of the RCA port.

great speakers
Pros: These speakers are awesome. For the price these are outstanding. I changed from a 2.1 three Watt system (which had a short of some kind making them crackle if I changed the volume). These however are crisp and clear. I only have a basic Creative surround sound sound card and the audio is amazing. A great value. I like being able to shake the whole house. :)
And of course Newegg was great, as always.
Cons: The cord from the computer to the main speaker is relatively short, this caused problem because my CAT-5 cable is also short so I couldn't place the speakers where I wanted until I got a longer CAT-5 cable.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great product.

Perfect Price/Quality Ratio
Pros: The sound is simply amazing, easy to install, the speakers have a "swivel" stand on them to allow for wall mounting, removing the need to purchase brackets. I got this for my gaming PC, but shortly moved it to my gaming television as the sound was excellent for Rockband.
Cons: Only real con the kept this from getting a 5 star rating was the lack of any real bass. Now, don't get me wrong, it's sounds good and deep, but nothing that's going to reall knock your socks off on the bass end.
Other Thoughts: Getting ready to buy another set.

Excellent Price/Quality Product. on newegg though.
Pros: Quality is really good. Cousin tells me to get a BOSE, since those are elite in speakers, but I'm on a budget. This is perfect for a speaker a casual gamer, music, and movie enthusiasts. Would give it one more star but, most of my daily activities don't really activate the 2 rear speakers and the center speaker.
Cons: Bought it at walmart 3 days ago for 30 bucks more. WHY?! Guess the instruction manual is 27 bucks. Nice. Should of bought it here. But its OEM.
Other Thoughts: Pretty hungry right now because of the sub woofers intensity.

Awesomeness!
Pros: Sounds Great, much better than my previous. Which was just my Monitor, and iHome speakers hooked up. These puppies are easy to set up, Cords are plenty long, this can be a Pro or Con...But This will do wonders for you and your Music. Sound Quality is Superb!
Cons: The bass is alittle heavy, but can be turned down to half, which is about perfect
Other Thoughts: Buy These NOW!
