Impressive Little Speakers
Pros: Great sound for small speakers; nice little semi-rigid case included.
Cons: Speaker connector (where the left speaker connects to the right speaker) is mechanically a little loose internally and I find the left speaker will cut-in/out if the connector isn't positioned just right.
Other Thoughts: USB connector allowed me connect speakers to this PC - as my sound card speaker connectors are used primarily as an interface to Icom amateur radio for digital mode operation.

RE: Good not Great
Pros: Much better sound than laptop speakers. The imaging that you gain from moving the speakers out of the laptop are enough worth it to make them a good choice.
Cons: The cracking noise i reported on earlier is def confirmed to be power related. You can see the light start to flicker as the USB port struggles to feed it enough power to keep up. These speakers could play louder and clearer (maybe an additional 15%) with a better power source. Once the power draw exceeds what the USB port can give the sound cuts in and out with a horrible crackle!
At louder volumes the speakers like to slide around a bit too.
Other Thoughts: I have demoed the Creative N400's as well and they suffer from the exact same problem. Meaning that is the best we are going to get unless USB3.0 offers more volts, i am not sure. It would be great if it does. The n400's though sounded very comparable to the logitechs and share the same cons so it would be worth it in my oppinion to save a little money and go with them instead.

Good not great
Pros: The case is very sturdy and has a nice suede type feel to it. I like the fact that it has a compartment for the cables as well as the speakers unlike the lower V10's or Creative's N400's (The competing product by creative)
They sound good for what they are, but with only creating 2 watts from the 5volts that they are getting from the usb port has its drawbacks.
Cons: The sound tends to crackle when you go anywhere slightly above a normal listening volume. It is not too distracting but it should not be there. It is not the normal cracking that you would hear when a driver is over exerting itself, it is definalty being caused by the driver being underpowered. The media buttons on the top are very hard to press causing me to have to hold the speaker while i am pressing them, hopefully they will break in but i dont think they will.
As i said the case is nice because it has a seperate compartment for the cables but this does lead the case to be a bit larger that will make them more difficult to carry around with you in some laptop bags. Luckily it fits fine in my backpack but it could be a problem with smaller bags.
Other Thoughts: Some people complain about the lengths of the cables but i dont take issue with that, you are going to be using these with your laptop, you should not be placing them that far apart than how wide your screen is for proper imaging.
Some also complain about the stands being unstrudy but i dont find them to be a problem, however the stands on the speakers that i got are different than the ones in the picture so it leads me to think they have rectified this issue.
Overall i am happy with the purchase i just wish they wernt as expensive. I dont think they are worth the 80 bucks they retail at, but they will do me fine. I just wanted something to set up in my hotel room and be able to listen to music and play games on that sounded much better than my internal laptop speakers

Amazing sound
Pros: I loved them instantly. I don't see what you have to set up on the computer at all. I just plugged them in using windows xp and they sound great. I just had to press a button on them to make the sound come out. They crank up to a great volume. I bought them for travel use like in hotels so I don't want to make them too loud, but I am super impressed at the clarity, the crispness, I think base is fine. I listen to some pulsating club music, like goth, industrial and that can sound awful on cheap speakers, but it sounds pretty darn good on these. I LOVE them and they are light and portable. The cord is fine for me and come in travel case. And listen to the highs on these, amazing. I think they rival my much more expensive desktop speakers at home.
Cons: I guess just that the buttons are a little tough to press on them, that's all.
Other Thoughts: GET THESE! U cannot get more bang for the buck I don't think.

Great when adjusted properly
Pros: They are small, come with molded case, responsive bass, can use the volume on the PC, true plug and play (XP, Vista, W7). Red/Blue mute notification light on top.
Cons: Cable is too short, go ahead and order a USB extention cable, it should fit in the molded case if you travel with them. Not real loud, but for 2 Watts, they kick.
Other Thoughts: Bought these for my laptop while working and they are awesome. YOU NEEEEEED TO TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO ADJUST THE SOUND DEVICE OUTPUT PROPERTIES IN THE OS!!!! Otherwise they sound weak. They sound best about 10 inches away from a wall and spread away from eachother as far as they will go.

RE: These are nice
Pros: Sound really good for what they are, need no AC plug in, just plug into the usb and go! Still!
Cons: NONE
Other Thoughts: I just had to right another review about these speakers, I see some people don't like them, but seeing that you use these on a laptop..there great I think...they sound really good for what they are...I have some Logitech S120 and these are way better and the Logitech S120 plug in to AC, so for a pair of speakers that plug into the usb only..these got it going on...I like my music and I wanted something that would give me a little sound when I'm on the laptop and these do the trick..If I really want to feel the music I go get on my home computer that I built, (of coarse all the parts came from NEWEGG!) which has a Z-5500...The Z-5500 has got to be the best 300 dollar sound system out there...I know there is better, but not for 300 bucks...yeah get the Logitech V20 2...you'll be glad you did!

Very good, except for static!
Pros: Small size, NO POWER BRICK, decent sound, construction good, nice case...
Cons: What is with the STATIC IN SOME LOCATIONS???? Very irritating. I tried shielding the cables with aluminum foil with no improvement? Because of the static, will have to move on and try more speakers.

These are nice
Pros: Sound really good for what they are, need no AC plug in, just plug into the usb and go!
Cons: none
Other Thoughts: For a pair of speakers you just plug in the usb, they have a real nice sound, now I'm using them on a laptop and as you know most laptop don't have speakers that sound very good, most laptop speakers are junk! as with the sony laptop I have, but if you add these you will be surprised. They come in a nice fold up case, I don't think you will be able to find speakers that sound better unless you find some that run on AC. I have a small pair that you do plug in and these sound alot better. I would buy these again!

Very Nice
Pros: USB Powered, Plug & Play with XP, Nice travel case, Good sound, Volume controls.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I was going to give these four stars but for what they are they are very nice so I gave them five.
Don't expect audiophile quality out of these. They are powered by your USB port and don't have a subwoofer but for travel, not having an outlet handy or just wanting fewer wires around these little speakers sound great.
There's enough bass response that you can feel it if your sitting near your laptop. The volume goes as high as I need it to before the USB port starts clipping the power (which is indicated by the LED); easily enough to fill a room with sound. They seemed just a shade flat at first but just a touch of tweaking on the WMP EQ made them sparkle.
I'd highly recommend these if you're considering them and on the fence.

not worth its price
Pros: it's small and pretty
Cons: the sound quality isn't as good as expected, to be honest actually, i can't use a single word of praise here
Other Thoughts: i just receive this pair of speakers and i'm pretty disappointed now

Great Product
Pros: Very nicely designed. Great sound quality in a small package. Immediately recognized by my MacBook with no driver installation. Foldout legs are cool. Carrying case is very well designed.
Cons: USB cable is too short to use these while you have your laptop in your lap. The cable should be at least 3 feet long and I recommend that Logitech do some testing with various cable lengths. Most people do use a laptop in their lap occasionally.
Other Thoughts: Haven't used the media controls on the top as I don't see the point.

Ok...
Pros: Perfect size, sound quality good...sometimes.
Cons: If I go anywhere past 3/4 volume, it cuts in and out with a terrible cracking noise and has happened ever since I got them...they don't stay in place if you have a song with any kind of bass on (I ended up cutting some squares of the grippy drawer liners and setting the speakers on those)...controls don't necessarily work with my laptop as it's always as a guess as to how loud or soft the sound is going to be because some times the volume bar shows up and other times it doesn't. USB cord too short.

Good Notebook speakers
Pros: Very good sound for speakers at a good price ( I paid $50) Not tinny sounding at all. Good bass which is what I was looking for. I listen to them on the road in hotel rooms so I don't "crank" them so the sound is clear and undistorted at the volume I use without disturbing the neighbors. Very happy with these speakers. Nice carry case.
Cons: A little larger than I was hoping to buy ( I knew this limitation when I purchased them). But some of the smaller ones received reviews that implied inferior sound.

Great value, quality product
Pros: The USB-only connection is, hands down, the BEST feature about these speakers. SUPER handy to avoid using the 3.5mm audio cables that would clutter up my workspace. Handy carrying case, great design, great appearance, very handy to have the controls built in.
Cons: Price may seem a bit high, but you get what you pay for. This is a quality product - well worth the few extra dollars you could save by purchasing another lower-quality brand.
Other Thoughts: I noticed (using Vista) my machine required a restart and fiddling with some Sound settings upon plugging them in. Very simple - after a few minutes, it's good to go.

Top of the line in sound and portability
Pros: I bought these to take with me when I traveled, but I found more and more of a need to keep them with my desktop because of the fantastic sound. Quality is great. Love the included case.
Cons: Because of the size of these speakers, anything with a lot of bass is going to make them move all over the place... I've even had them fall off my desk. Nothing a little tape can't fix though... USB cord is also a little short.
Other Thoughts: Overall great product that I am extremely happy with. I am not a hardcore soundophile, but with size, sound quality, and a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with the Logitech v20s!

logitech r0x0rs my laptop
Pros: *very* impressive sound. two cord design. carry case. very portable. great value for the money. personally, i LIKE the short cords (these are, after all, meant for laptops). 2 year warranty.
Cons: top mounted controls dont make sense for two reasons: 1) they are very hard to press... making them obnoxious to use especially considering their position, and 2) these are meant for laptops, the vast majority of which already have playback/volume controls on the keyboard. the collapsible stand setup worries me about the future, but it seems sturdy for now...
Other Thoughts: even after reading reviews here, i was very skeptical about the sound output from these things until i heard it myself. the highs are reasonably crisp, and they actually have what could be considered decent bass response. now of course... is it going to win over an audiophile? no. is it going to rattle pictures off your wall? no. but they sound amazing given their size. some of the music i listen to is just impossible to enjoy on laptop speakers. these fix that problem - and then some.

These are perfect
Pros: Lightweight for traveling. Way way better than laptop speakers, no comparison. Very nice sound quality, I was very surprised! I don't hear any crackling at full volume on Mp3's or movies at all, just very nice sound quality. Get these, you will be glad you did. I was doubtful that they would sound good at all being USB speakers, but alas, just what the doctor ordered!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Case is compact and built very nice.

Pros: Small, lightweight, doesn't need a power brick. Very portable.

Macbook User
Pros: Comes in nice case. Compact design. Decent Price. Has a blue LED on top indicating it's active, when muted, the LED turns red, which is a nice touch. Virtually no installation process necessary (just plug it in, and select it as the sound output).
Cons: The buttons on the primary speaker are hard and don't depress. The cords are too short for one speaker and too long for the other. The construction isn't quite as solid as I had hoped. Biggest flaw: the Bass distorts at even medium volume levels.
Other Thoughts: While a DRAMATIC improvement over default laptop speakers, you may consider a different option if your shopping around. Macbook users, beware: Macbooks have both their USB ports on the LEFT side, but the short*** USB cord comes from the RIGHT side. Also, I once had to crack open one of the speakers because something came loose inside and it was constantly distorted. Cracking it open, making sure everything was in tight, and closing it up again seemed to fix the problem. 3 Eggs.

Great Speakers
Pros: Great speakers, great sound can't beat the price, these speakers will remember their volume setting when powered down eliminating the need to turn the volume up when you plug them back in.
Cons: None so far

Good Skype Speakers
Pros: Good speakers for having only USB power. Work great in conjunction with a web cam and Skype.
Cons: Media controls on top of speakers are not easy to use.
Other Thoughts: I bought the speakers to use with Skype and they are perfect for that. Music is OK on them, but as everyone else has said, don't expect to host a block party. Would be nice is USB cord was a bit longer, fortunately, I have a port at the back of my computer, so the length didn't affect me too much.

great for my purposes
Pros: The speakers do not distort at higher volumes, and sound clear and crisp. A definite upgrade over my integrated speakers on my laptop
Cons: the included usb cord is short. My laptop does not have many usb ports and this takes up one, permanently.
Other Thoughts: Great for laptops, but if you have a desktop, I'd reccomend a more tradition set of speakers, althought these are really good, just make sure your computer is close.

Good for casual listening
Pros: Ive always thought logitech has made good products, this is no exception. The are good for USB powered speakers and a casual listener. Carrying case was an excellent inclusion.
Cons: Being an audiophile, slight distortion at high volumes drives me crazy. Its most noticeable in classical music with pianos etc. These are great for rock etc tho. For the most part they are very clear.

Good buy
Pros: decent speakers. They plug into a usb port and thats it. Windows detects it and works right of the box, no installation required. No ac cable which is very nice. They highs and mids sound great. Super crisp and clear.
Cons: bass is lacking, but it's not really a con since they are just 2.0 speakers.
Other Thoughts: very portable, sound great, good buy for a laptop

Not Great
Pros: Small Nice Carrying Case Simple
Cons: Extreme distortion at anything above low volume. Button controls are not user friendly.
Other Thoughts: Directions indicate that when not enought power is available through USB, sound quality suffers and the blue light goes off. This happens and even moderate volumes. Maybe I just got a bad set.

Pleasantly surprised - nicely done.
Pros: Great for travel. These don't require an AC adapter, are powered just by the USB cable which keeps things neat and uncluttered. And no audio drivers to install - just plug them in and in a few seconds it shows up as "Logitech USB Speaker" in the list of audio devices, and Windows makes it the default device. The travel case is way better than the cheap vinyl bag you might expect - this one is made of a semi-rigid material with form-fitted dividers for the speakers and wires. The speakers stand upright on little legs that fold back flush into recesses in the case for travel. Nothing to get lost.
Cons: Audio quality is adequate. It's better than typical laptop speakers, not as good as typical amplified speakears. I don't find the media control buttons very useful - the speakers won't be far from the computer they're connected to. But if your computer doesn't have dedicated buttons then they might be handy. And since these speakers create their own audio device in Windows, any special functions your existing audio device may have will probably not be available.
Other Thoughts: I bought these to use with a small cube desktop computer I use while working on-site writing software for theme park attractions. These fit the bill perfectly. Nice to see someone sweat the details.

wow just wow.
Pros: If i can sumerice this speakers in one word it is AMAZING. This speakers even in like 35% volume are PERFECTLY clear, awesome bass. The sound is spectacular. The buttons above the speaker are a HUGE help, love them. Just get these speakers if you are stuck with the horrible speakers that your laptop came with.
Cons: The speakers are bigger than normal, but I was expecting it. So check your space.
Other Thoughts: Get them!! you wont regret it at all.

WOW! I'm impressed
Pros: I was really impressed with the sound quality. It's portable, and all the buttons function correctly. Perfect upgrade from your wimpy laptop speakers!
Cons: Kind of bulky to carry around - you'll need a medium to big laptop case. Buttons are not the easiest to press, but I have same buttons on my laptop, so no big deal.
Other Thoughts: Good value!

OUTSTANDING!
Pros: Allow me first to say, I am not a person that knows alot about computers and the techy this-n-that. After researching, I took a chance on this site as well as this Logitech brand. This was the (MORE THAN EXPECTED) perfect set up! Took less than 30 sec. to be up and running! THE SOUND QUALITY IS OUTSTANDING! And the beautiful case was a total surprise! Logitech once again, along with Newegg.com, is where I will continue to do business with for the OUTSTANDING PRODUCTS! DEFINATELY THE WOW FACTOR WITH THIS PRODUCT!
Cons: Hard to think of one, possibly if the cord distance could be a bit longer in order to be able to separate the speakers might be a future consideration. Being that I have a limited space and that I didn't want to deal with a ton of cables, this is perfect for most of us!
Other Thoughts: YOU WON'T BE SORRY, GET IT!

Perfect Solution
Pros: Overall, these speakers have decent sound. Perfect for taking along with the laptop for watching movies in the hotel room or for gaming. The case is durable and makes them easy to transport. Great laptop speakers.
Cons: -They tend to walk around the table when the volume is high.
Other Thoughts: These are perfect to throw in your laptop bag when you need more than the built-in speakers.

Better bass than I expected.
Pros: The bass is way more than I'd expect speakers so small to produce. The sound quite good, I've heard that high volumes make the speakers cut out because of the limited power from USB, but they work fine for me so far, so maybe it depends on the computer's USB port.
Cons: None that i can find, My laptop has usb ports on the left and right sides, none on the back, the right side one is reserved for my mouse. The cable for these speakers isn't long enough to reach from the right speaker to the left side of the computer without being tight, but luckily i had a extra extension cable to fix that.
Other Thoughts: Something I see often in reviews of these speakers is that they jump around on the table at high volumes, they started to move around a bit, but i was prepared. I sat each one on a mousepad since I had some extras. and they seem to stay still now.

Wow
Pros: Extremely clear -- quality is comparable to if not better than many high end amplified desktop speakers. The USB provides a clean signal, unlike desktop speakers that hook up to a sound card and you always get hiss with those.
Cons: Lack of 3D stuff.
Other Thoughts: Be sure to turn on bass boost and AGC in your advanced control options under the Windows volume control.

Perfect for travel..
Pros: They are powered off USB (no bulky power adapter) and come with a great little travel case. Great for watching a DVD or listening to music on a laptop.
Cons: Media controls do not work with a Mac. When there is a lot of bass, the speaker will actually move itself across the table.
Other Thoughts: These won't rattle the windows but they are infinitely better then the built in speakers your laptop came with. A good buy if you watch a lot of movies on the go.

Great sounding speakers...
Pros: Ten times better than my notebook speakers as far as quality of sound and volume are concerned. They can fill a room with music easily. USB powered and a carrying case make these speakers easy to take with you and hook up.
Cons: They add a good amount of weight to carry with a notebook. With all of that weight you would think they would stay in one place when listening to music. As mentioned in other comments, at medium to high volume they vibrate and could easily fall off of a counter or table. Will have to look into some sort of grip padding for the bottom.
Other Thoughts: Overall they are more than I expected from notebook speakers. They get the job done well and if you can deal with the small issues then I suggest you get them.

Very Good For What They Are
Pros: Zero install, quite good sound, excellent volume for USB power (much louder than I had expected at clean volume settings). Great bass response. Good size and storage system, have been able to take with me without pain. Quick setup with one cable. Quality seems very good.
Cons: Can be turned up to point of distortion. If you crank up beyond capacity of USB to power cleanly, sound "tears" and with heavy bass, speakers may walk around, even off a table! But that is at levels beyond what I expect from USB powered speakers.
Other Thoughts: Very good compromise -- the sound is better than I had ever expected USB speakers to sound. Would be happy to use these as desktop speakers for ordinary music liseening, they are MUCH better than the cheap wall-wart powered speakers packaged with many consumer computer systems. Not the ticket for gaming or total immersion DVD viewing but a great portable laptop solution. I take them on the road and like them much better than the laptop's built in sound.

Not worth the price (maybe not even worth 'free')
Pros: Of course, they're portable and come w/ their own carrying case (if that kind of thing is cool for you) and they do NOT require seperate power supply to operate.
Cons: Even w/ the understanding that size isn't everything, these speakers sound only slightly better than the nonpowered set I use for my mp3 player (they were four bucks, and sound like it). While the fold out stands are a nice thought, when the volume is turned up, the stands begin to vibrate as the speaker is so light. Also, the speaker controls on the top seem like a good idea, but are ungainly and difficult to see easily. Music was fair and gaming (my main reason for the speakers) was horrid.
Other Thoughts: With the price tag, you'd expect these speakers to go the distance. They don't. Your money is better spent on an upgraded sound card and/or a nice set of headphones. I don't know about you, but my search for the perfect set of portable speakers continues...

Better then expected
Pros: I wanted a small pair of speakers for my home computer which powered on and off along with my computer, these fit the bill. When I received them I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality.
Cons: Popping sound when turning on and off the computer. And the USB cord is very short, about 2 feet.
