Great scanner
Pros: Easy to install. Color reproduction and image resolution is excellent. Very fast scans. Software is usefull and easy to use. Drivers have been stable for me with Windows XP. Buttons work well and provide nice tactile (CLICK) feedback, which is more than I can say for other scanners I've used. Slide scanner works well, though I haven't spent much time with it yet.
Cons: None that I can think of.

It Works
Pros: Small, Light, Easy to use. Software works in Vista 32 and 64 bit without any problems. It is a basic scanner. Exactly what I wanted. The price is pretty good.
Cons: The edges outer edges are a little deceiving, even when using the guides. It is easy to cutoff the edge of a picture. No bells and whistles .. just a basic scanner .. which is what I wanted.
Other Thoughts: My product had been a return. This wasn't noted anywhere on my order. Always makes me a little nervous but everything seems to work fine.

Buyer's Remorse
Pros: Color quality is excellent and the scan is fast.
Cons: Scanner needs to warm up. I don't think the software is that user-friendly, still trying to figure it out. I've had the scanner for about a month and it isn't doing what I needed it to do. I can't figure out how to center the image for printing. It always positions I had an old Visioneer scanner which in my opinion worked better. May sound silly, but the scanner needs to be turned on for the scanner software to locate the device instead turning itself on when the scanner icon is clicked on. Also, can't center image on a page. The image always comes out positioned at the top of a printed page. Some of the original image is cut off.
Other Thoughts: This model has already been replaced by the V300. I also tried downloading what I thought was a new driver and it rendered the scanner inoperable. I had to delete and then reinstall the original driver and software. Wish the Xerox scanner had been available when I purcashed the Epson.

Love it!
Pros: It seems as though it is difficult to find any scanners with good consistent reviews. I read about this scanner for several months and finally got it on sale. I have not been happier. I am using it to scan negatives and it has worked wonderfully. There are plenty of options in the provided software and it has worked perfectly. The quality is good and it is very easy to use.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I am glad I stopped reading reviews and purchased this scanner. I could not be happier.

Perfection
Pros: Had a HP and when I upgraded to Windows Vista, HP had no drivers for it and requested that I replace the scanner. This can scan almost at 3Dimention. Magnification of pictures and closeups unreal. Scanning simplified. Do not have 6 or more buttons to chose from. Simple on, scan, off. You will not be disapointed at this price.
Cons: Have a 7 MP camera, now it doesn't look so good. Scanned pictures look even better.
Other Thoughts: I'm now shopping for a better camera.

Well built Scanner
Pros: Very good scanner for the price. It is fast, was easy to setup and the scanning utility that comes with it is easy to use. The ability to select many different areas in preview and scan them all with one touch is great, makes scanning many small documents easy.
Cons: None

Really Great Scanner
Pros: Easy to use software, GREAT photo quality and even in auto mode the color is perfect. Great feature that I personally found of use was I could set several items on the tray and scan them into Photoshop and it would make that many single pre-cropped pictures. Very crisp and clear photos.
Cons: Won't do my dishes for me.
Other Thoughts: This is a very easy to use scanner and I can't say enough good things about the picture quality. I won't be using it for negitives all the time, and mostly needed it for my website, but every aspect of this scanner is A+ all the way.

I Liiiike it!
Pros: You plug it in and it works with XP64 or Vista64.
Cons: The lid is not removable.
Other Thoughts: I got this to replace my Visioneer 9420 that I was using to replace my Epson 9450. The platten, (the glass where you place your image for scanning), isn't recessed too deeply into the scanner so it doesn't put funny creases into oversized images. It's as fast as the Visioneer with the same color depth (24bitx600dpi) and size (8.5x11.7). If you get over 1800 dpi on the maximum size it'll start to take some time . . . but I expect that.

Glad I purchased Epson scanner
Pros: Works perfectly with my Macbook Pro - OS Tiger. Easy to use. Have scanned approximately 200 pictures, slides & negatives in the last couple of weeks for my genealogy project. Love the color restore - would recommend product
Cons: If you have a lot of negatives or slides will take some time to scan them at 4 slides or 6 negatives at a time. My negatives are in strips of 4. Don't think it will take anything to heavy on the glass either.
Other Thoughts: Am very happy with the output of this model scanner. Shipping was extremely fast from Newegg.com

Great Cheap Scanner
Pros: It's fast and the scans are very good. I had an old HP Scanjet 5P from 1995 that was on a SCSI interface and so far I've never been able to find a scanner that was as fast and had as good software but this one is darn close. I love that you can batch scan as many photos as will fit on the glass then highlight each one in the scanner software and the scanner will scan each into a separate file. I've been scanning a box of old photographs and this has absolutely saved me hours of time. The Epson scanner software is excellent and gives you plenty of options in how you want to scan.
Cons: It's noisy but not offensively so. The Abbyy Fineprint software is out of date but it works.
Other Thoughts: It's cheap and I don't know how long it will last. I put this here because it may run fine for years so I can't count it as a con.

Works with linux
Pros: Works with ubuntu 7.10 using drivers/backend (for xsane) from http://www.avasys.jp/english/linux_e/dl_scan.html. Have been scanning slides (50 or so) with no complaints. Scanned a few documents with good results.
Cons: This is with LINUX only: not able to pick all resolutions(300,2400,4800 only), buttons don't work(as of yet), and the unit doesn't shut off(unplug-it).
Other Thoughts: I'm very happy it works with linux and recommend it for anyone needing a good scanner using linux.

Good Basic Scanner
Pros: Small, fairly quiet compared to older models, but still makes the usual scanning noises. Platen is slightly larger than your average sheet of paper which keeps the size down.
I only installed Epson's basic TWAIN software as I'm scanning through Photoshop, and it's pretty self explanatory.
As mentioned elsewhere the use cable port is set at the front, which is fine for me, as I set that up against the wall, so it fall straight down anyway.
Thus far I've had no software nor hardware issues, and from what I've seen don't really expect any.
I've left the device on for the past few days and it enters a "sleep" type mode (or perhaps it's actually shutting itself down, hard to tell) but the warm up period is very short, which is convenient.
Cons: Newegg lowered the price 6 days after I bought it! Ah well, was a bargain even then.
Other Thoughts: The power plug has a rather chunky plug as the transformer is built into the wall socket, so plan for this to be in a wall socket, or at the end of your power strip.
Ultimately if you just want to scan photos, documents, the occasional book or miscellaneous textures this scanner will fit both your needs and your budget.

Decent low cost flat bed scanner
Pros: Works well. Not exceptional but not mediocre either.
Cons: Lots of bloatware with the driver. Just install the TWAIN unless you don't have any good 3rd party graphics programs.
Other Thoughts: Best if you use it with it to your right since the top opens from the side and the end.

It works!...
Pros: Very happy with this scanner. It replaces an old Lide80 non compatible with Vista 64. It works, it's relatively fast and installs without problem.
Cons: It looks more fragile than my old Cannon Lide80 (lasted 8 years)

"EXCELLENT PRODUCT AND NEWEGG SERVICE"
Pros: I just received my new Epson V200 Perfection Scanner on yesterday 1/8/2008..(2) days after I ordered it and that was FAST!!. My exsisting scanner is the HP 3500c Scanjet, which I've had when they first came out 6 or 7 years ago which was $129 or so back then. Well I put both scanner together to make some comparision,,,WOW!! the Epson V200p was seriously "FAST" compared to the HP 3500c in every way!!!...I needed to have a scanner that could scan sheet music using OCR technology with less errors which was needed because of the music scoreing software I just bought... The Epson V200p was so fast that it shocked me!!!...My music scoring software and the the Epson V200p was a perfect match made in Heaven!!!.. The main reason I chose the Epson V200p because it was highly tested with 99% error free results and also Macintosh G5 compatible, which was a important factor in my decision to buy the Epson V200p.... I give it 5 stars!!.....and Newegg 10 for Excellent service!!!!
Cons: NONE!!!!!!
Other Thoughts: WOWW!!!!...What else can I say... Note: I build PC's and also been using Apple Macintosh Computers since 1982!!!...

Pros: This scanner is super easy to set up and use. I have been using it to scan slides. It does an excellent job. Put the 4 slides in - push a button - that is it. Slides scan into seperate files.
Does a good job on all other types of scans also - color copies, magazine, b/w text.
Cons: None yet.

Great for the price
Pros: The output from this scanner is of excellent quality. Has driver for x64 as well as 32 bit versions of Windows.
Cons: Seems a little cheaply made, but for the price it is ok.
Other Thoughts: A nice low cost unit if you don't want to buy an all in one.

Piece of junk
Pros: Nice size/appearance.
Cons: From day one has had persistent connectivity issues where the power/scan button flashes red. Have tried everything. This was a pretty big annoyance when I had to unplug the cord to get the scanner working. Now after three months, it mostly flashes red all the time.
Other Thoughts: I was one of the first to buy this from Newegg, before there were any reviews. I should have got an HP.

Good flatbed scanner, slides/negatives not so much
Pros: Relatively small compact design. Motor noise during scanning is reasonably quiet and not too objectionable.
Makes great scans of documents and photos at up to 4800 dpi. Quick preview scan. Bundled Epson Scan software has some decent colour correction features which are handy sometimes. You can outline a bunch of different areas and batch scan them all at once. Handy for scanning multiple photos at the same time.
Easy to convert for scanning slides and negatives with the supplied adapter. Holds 4 slides or a 22 cm long strip of negatives. Automatically converts the scanned negative into a positive.
Cons: Bundled scanning software seems to be limited to a maximum size of 10.8k by 30k pixels. Small images can be scanned at the max dpi (4800), but large images can't.
For some reason the power and USB are placed at the front right of the scanner, which can make positioning the scanner relative to your computer awkward.
Results from scanning negatives weren't all that impressive compared to the original prints. The negatives I scanned ended up darker and noisier than the prints I had.
Holder does a decent job of keeping a strip of negatives flat except for the very edges where curling can cause an artifact with the scanned image.
Other Thoughts: Price/features makes this scanner a pretty decent value. I wouldn't use it for archival digitization of negatives or slides, but for photos and documents it does an excellent job.

Great Scanner
Pros: Scans are much faster than my older model scanner and the color seems to be more accurate. The software that restores old slides and negatives does a wonderful job of arriving at the proper colors.
Cons: All scanners I have used had the USB and power connections on the very back of the scanner. This one has them on the right hand side almost at the front. This makes it hard to hide the cables from view. Also, the USB cable has a long, straight plug which means you have to allow for more room between the scanner and whatever is on its right side.
Other Thoughts: I am used to placing documents with the top toward the back of the scanner plate, which seems natural. With the V200, the top must be toward you, which seems upside-down. Overall, though, I think it is a great scanner for the price!

Disappointing
Pros: This product is very good when it works.I like the software.
Cons: Worked well for a couple days, then got increasingly noisy with a distorted image. Returned it, got another, then same problem.
Other Thoughts: I have to return the second one. I should have asked for a refund.

Excellent Scanning
Pros: Great color, very fast scans. The transparency adapter is good. Well written driver and features. Excellent bang for the buck. Very clear scans.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I'm using this for business. Mostly to convert paper to PDF's. I use Paperport 11 and Omnipage 16 Pro. Works Excellently with both programs. Was using a Visioneer Strobe 200 sheet scanner; that was a disaster. The only thing about a flatbed scanner versus a sheet feed that I find a small con is that you have to wait 10 or so seconds for the scanner to warm up. Not a biggie. Love this scanner!

Great Scanner
Pros: I read reviews on this scanner and decided to order the scanner from newegg with their very good price. I have an older epson scanner that is still going strong, but this scanner got good reviews and the scans of negatives and slides were stated to be very good. After scanning negatives that I had for many years, I can state that this scanner is worth it's price and then some. I was impressed with the results and have been scanning old negatives to save them digitally. I'm not a professional photographer but have many years of 35mm shots that mean very much to me. For my needs, I am very pleased. The epson software worked well.
Cons: Didn't install the photo editing software and the adobe reader since I have better editing software and I use Fox reader for pdf viewing.
Other Thoughts: For the price, I don't think that you can go wrong with this scanner. If you want a top of the line scanner and performance, get something more expensive, but the results may or may not be that much better.
