Do not buy
Pros: Duplex scanning, one touch interface
Cons: Keeps jamming, does not hold calibration, will not scan consistently.
Other Thoughts: Have had 2 DocketPost scanners from Ambir, thought this was the same, it was not. I have a busy optometric office and this scanner slowed us down with constant mis feeds and blank scans.

Seeing is believing...
Pros: Small footprint, compact design
Cons: Being a long time user of the Strobe product, all the way up to XP 200, I really loved it. however this XP 300 is a major disappointment. it has all the negatives ppl mentioned in the reviews (how naive that I didn't want to believe)--paper jam w/ the feeder, problem w/ adjusting feed delay & paper return, etc. This is a major disappointment to say the lease.
Other Thoughts: I called Newegg and complained about the various issues. THe lady agreed to waive the restocking fee and issued an RMA. there must be too many ppl complaining.

Disappointing
Pros: Scans in color and on both sides of the page. Comes with Paperport software package, an excellent document management program.
Cons: Weak integration with Paperport software makes this a step back from any previous Visioneer sheet-fed scanner. Agree with other reviewers that the poor paper handling is a major impediment, often requiring several tries to get a good scan. Only really works well with full sized pages.
Other Thoughts: This is the worst scanner I have ever owned (including several previous Visioneer sheetfed scanners). Better alternatives are the other Visioneer Strobes or the Plustek OpticSlim M12, all costing less.

A Giant Leap Backwards
Pros: Duplex ability
Cons: Unable to adjust feed delay - causes 'hair trigger' effect and many many misfeeds. Scanning quality to PDF is very poor. Unable to "Stack" items in PDF format. Unlike prior versions of Strobe, only scans to a fixed size, effectively cutting off bottom of document if feed is delayed at all (which it almost always is because of the hair-trigger). Turning on any image manipulation, such as de-skew or crop, causes HUGE delays when scanning. Plus the paper return feature is horrible compared to the previous versions of the Strobe. It ALWAYS makes the paper jam. They shouldn't have monkeyed with it.
Other Thoughts: This is my 4th Strobe scanner. I was excited about the duplex capability, but was so disappointed in the scanner and the new version of the PaperPort software. It is a giant leap backwards. I have uninstalled it and re-installed my old Strobe Pro. Beware that you can not return this item. NewEgg won't return it except for an exchange, and Visioneer won't take it since I didn't purchase it from them. It will sit in my cupboard - that is how bad it is. The duplex feature is neat, but with re-scans because of the items listed, it is SO much slower it just isn't worth it.

Poort paper handling
Pros: Very small footprint. I really like Paperport (which is supplied with this) and have used it for years. Duplex ability. I owned a similar scanner years ago and it worked well. Includes multi oulet adapters for international travel, however useless for the everyday user at home.
Cons: Regardless of the paper being fed, the rollers would not always grip the paper and it would slip causing distorted images. It does come with sheets it enclosed an odd shaped form...I would find it tiresome to use it on many things.
