Small and Reliable
Pros: Small size, reliable scanning, excellent scan quality in color and black and white.
Cons: The output tray is easily broken off if left to close the the edge of the desk, and we have a few without them at this point. The scanners still work great without the tray.
Other Thoughts: These have a very small footprint and fit on most desks well. We have 15 of these and never had one break. Rarely jam, but when it does I almost always find the original was in rough shape. Overall a great scanner.

Worked well on PC/XP x 1.5 yrs, still works on Mac with third party ExactCode driver
Pros: Small space, fast, duplex and color. Great for scanning in large documents and reducing paper clutter.
Cons: Sometime feeds a touch uneven so you get mild geometric distortions. Not so great for photos, but not a problem for scanned text. Sadly, there are no Macintosh drivers in the box.
Other Thoughts: Fabulous for scanning documents. Fair for scanning photos. I get better photo results using a higher DPI (600 rather than 300) to get the slower scanning speed, and then downsampling to the desired resolution. There's less geometric distortion at the slower scanning speed. I've recently switched from XP to MacOSX Snow Leopard, and was pleased to discover I can still use this scanner with the ExactCode / ExactScan drivers. Not free, but I still get to use the scanner. I would definitely buy this again.

Eh, not bad, but not great
Pros: compact, easy to install and works pretty good
Cons: cant change presets, only has 1 roller so allot of your documents are slightly tilted to the side (software included has an "auto-correct" feature, so you KNOW Xerox is aware of the issue
Other Thoughts: We compared this to an HP model that has 3 rollers to grab the paper. The documents are always copied aligned and look great. the quality of the Xerox copies (except for the alignment) are great as well.
As always, feel free to gmail my nickname with questions or comments

Solid performance and well thought through
Pros: Fast, good reliability. This thing was half the cost of my previous duplex scanner (5 or so years old) and out performs it 3 to 1.
Cons: None that effect how I work.
Other Thoughts: I'm not a big fan of the little tray that sticks off the front of most inexpensive scanners, but I LOVE that this one folds neatly up and flush against the body of the scanner when it's not in use.

Got it to work with my XP64
Pros: Here's how to get it to work with XP64. Break open the .msi files found at the manufacturer's website. Use the drivers from XP32, and the software from Vista64. This combo works just fine on my XP64 SP2 system.
This is a decent scanner but overpriced for what you get (I paid $230 new, and I still think it's a bit high). It's decently fast if you use a low setting (I think 300dpi, greyscale is the best compromise on this machine).
Cons: Very small footprint is nice, but it means the feeder tray sits nearly vertical, meaning creased bills and other folded items to not sit flat. Will probably have to build a better tray for it.
Other Thoughts: I've used the Fuijitsu Scansnaps for over 15,000 pages, and they are alot easier to use and better designed. More expensive, but worth it.

Good Scanner
Pros: Compact, small footprint, lightweight, portable and very fast scanning. Overall a nice little scanner for the price.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: I didn't use the included software. Instead I went online and downloaded the One Touch Twain driver ONLY and loaded it onto the computer & laptop. I use Microsoft Document Imaging, which scans to .tif format as this is the software we use at my work and it's fast and simple to use. Newegg did a great job of filling my order. I ordered the morning of 7/15/09 and it was delivered the next day...for FREE.

Nice scanner
Pros: Simple install, simple to use, good user interface, fast, good software, small footprint.
Cons: None so far.
Other Thoughts: Installed for a customer who has to frequently email documents. After several months there have been no complaints, the customer is very happy. I was pleased with the reliability and simplicity of the software and the speed with which documents are scanned. Scanning both sides, often essential, is fast and simple.

The best scanner you will ever get
Pros: Excellent scanner. Super duplex scanning. It does everything extremely well. It does OCR, PDF, Form Typer and alot more. Its small enough to fit on a desk. I think is the best tech investment i have done. Worth every penny belief me.
Cons: Wish it made coffee for me
Other Thoughts: get it, dont fool with with something else

Xerox Documate 152
Pros: Used for monochrome document scanning directly to pdf, usually 25 pgs at a time. Works well, though 50 sheet capacity is not realistic - seems to choke on more than 25 pgs. The different available scanning format choices is excellent.
Cons: On/off buttom at the rear is very inconvenient.
Other Thoughts: Scanner died at 13th month of ownership. However, I own 2 of these, and am about to buy another to replace the one that died.

OUSTANDING !
Pros: After you take the time to follow the instructions (!!!!) you will find that this unit can handle a heavy load. We have been sending files of 30 to 120 pages, in excess of 50 times a day to the US gov for three years. It gives us the securtiy, the speed and it has operated with failure-free performance.
Cons: We had to read, AND FOLLOW the instructions.....

Great Scanner
Pros: Crisp, clear images. Very fast scans (after warm up) and software has a lot of features to edit scans.
Cons: Warm up time is standard for this type of device, just annoying

Great Scanner!
Pros: Small & compact. Fast scans. Twain & Acrobat compatible.
Cons: If the paper is not in PERFECT condition it jams alot. It does NOT like to feed anything but 20# paper. Anything like a hard paper front cover will not feed. Had to use my flatbed scanner for front and back covers.
Other Thoughts: Once I figured out how to set up the scanning parameters, I like this unit VERY much. My first project was a 500 page manual @ 300dpi, dble sided. I finished the job in 45 minutes. It just ate up the pages while I worked on other projects. I can see that scanning old manuals where the paper is not in pristine shape may be a problem but...for Joe office worker this will be a fantastic business tool. GET ONE.

Exactly what I needed for the $$$
Pros: Great deal when you look at the softwre bundeled with the little package... OmniPage does a fine job working wit this scanner!
Cons: Downside, I run Vista so it took me a little while to dig around and find all of the correct versions of eveything... once that was done... all goodness..
Some slight page skewing, but it has not effected what i'm working on.. so I could see this as a drawback from some folks.
Other Thoughts: I purchased the item because I have low vision and wanted to convert many of my books for text to speech... so far it is working well for what i've tried.

Great scanner
Pros: Great scanner, especially for the price. It comes with good software and is much cheaper than the comparable models from fujitsu, Canon, etc. BTW- OfficeMax sells this for $600, have to love Newegg!
Cons: There is some not so hot software bundled in with the better software. Without trying it all or knowing which to use, it would be easy to generate a negative opinion of the scanner/sw. Hate it when manuf throw everything & the kitchen sink in there.

Useful desktop scanner
Pros: I have so far purchased three of these scanners for use in my small financial services office, and may purchase one more. With square footage very expensive in New York, and tons of papers every day, it is incredibly useful. We use it with Adobe Acrobat Professional as the scanning drive, not the One Touch software that comes with it, and it works like a charm. When I get a new document and take care of it and am ready to file it, I just open Acrobat, press Alt, then Ctrl-M, then the up or down arrow, and choose where I want to save it. (We have a file naming convention and have setup a mapped and encrypted network drive.). I type in the name of the file, and it works. The PDFs from Acrobat are quite clear, and the dialog box that comes up allows use of the duplex function. I can then drop the actual document into the shredder. The next person who works with that client can see the documents easily.
Cons: I wish the One Touch software would allow an easy adjustment to the resolution and store the scanned document with the name and location that I want rather than to a temp location where I have to rename it to store it where I want it. In that case, I wouldn't have to have Adobe Acrobat Professional for each workstation using the scanner. Fortunately, it works fine with older versions of the Adobe software, so I didn't have to buy updates.

Get something else..
Pros: Duplex capabilities
Cons: Buggy driver and software
Other Thoughts: The scanner itself is ok, nothing to write home about but it works. However you will need to use a different scanning software than the one included. If you want a good scanner get the Fujitsu fi4120c, we have owned one for sometime and it is a total different animal altogether, we went with xerox because of the price difference. You get what you pay for, buy el cheapo you get el cheapo. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Can use Improvements
Pros: It took less than 15 minutes to set up and install, it's compact, it can be fast(see below) and it has the duplex feature.
Cons: I'll bore you to death. For starters the One Touch driver fails to provide a decent PDF image, if you want to use PDF format, you will have to use the Twain driver, I contacted tech support twice and on both calls they advised to uninstall and reinstall the drivers(quick way to get rid of you), needless to say it didn't fix the problem, tried it on another pc and got the same problem, gave up on it and decided to use TIFF files when using the One Touch function. One Touch feature won't allow you to set a default name for your documents, you have to go back and rename it. It jams about 15% of the time, especially with thin paper, don't leave it unattended if you are scanning important documents. If you use the VRS option included in the One Touch driver it will make the scanning process slower 'cause it has to convert every page it scans, otherwise it is fast. Wake up! am not finished here...PaperPort 11 is slow, I reinstalled ver.9, which is faster and works all the time. The Business
Other Thoughts: If this will be your first and only scanner you may be happy with it, however if you have used other scanners in the same price/features range you will not be happy. I have a Brother simplex flatbed scanner with ADF and it performs much better, better resolution and faster but I purchased this one for the duplex function and that it does well.
I personally believe that if they fix the One Touch driver and include some flexibility in it, this can be a 4 stars scanner.

Fast and Reliable.
Pros: It's super fast and doesn't jam. can do 110 pages in 7 min. @ 200 DPI.
Cons: I wish I could adjust presets from the device itself. Presets are just displayed as numbers.
Other Thoughts: This workgroup scanner has performed well for over a year now. No problems. Believe me, we have scanned hundreds and hundreds of documents. 200 DPI offers the best quality/speed ratio. The OCR software works better then most, but I thought it would work better for the price I paid. If you have to digitize documents for your work, this is a MUST HAVE device.

Easily and Professionally go paperless filing
Pros: Excellent documentation, easy to use software, and fast reliable scanner. Load a small stack of papers and it quickly converts to PDF.
Cons: Expensive. Page loader clip lasts 20,000 pages -- unknown what the consumable parts cost. Windows drivers only, not Mac compatible (have to use a Windows VM).
Other Thoughts: Great scanner if you're looking to convert your small office's file cabinets in to paperless PDFs. Great small foot print design.

Decent for the money
Pros: Does what it says. We have it on a shared desk where anyone who needs to scan can come and use it. Most of the users take advantage of the one button to PDF feature. Quick.
Cons: Only sheet feed options. But I knew that going in.
Other Thoughts: Haven't had any of the mentioned problems. It just works for us.

DO NOT BUY
Pros: It could be a good scanner. When it worked it was fast and easy.
Cons: It eventually created a conflict and would not scan. I called customer support and they told me that I needed a new chipset and that my computer was bad. BOGUS...The truth is that my computer is brand new and I tried it on three other computers. I spent two days trying to get the darn thing to work properly and had to give up.
Other Thoughts: I can not recommend this product based on the software issues and customer support. The rep tried to argue wit me and was stubborn.

Good scanner, one problem
Pros: Fast, flexible, lots of features, lots of software. Good scans if the paper feeds straight.
Cons: Paper guides are too short. Paperport 10 is not the latest version (11), is buggy, and is slower than V. 9.(V. 11 is buggy and slow, too.)
Other Thoughts: I bought it rather than the similarly-priced Fujitsu because the Fujitsu doesn't work with Paperport; and rather than the Canon 2050 because of the extra software. However, the short paper guides makes it difficult to position paper for a straight feed, so often the top portion of a document is skewed while the rest of the document is straight. I switched back to Paperport 9 because some features in 10 don't work, and many operations are slower than with 9 (printing a few Internet pages to PP can take several minutes w/ 10 vs. several seconds w/9.)

Windows Only
Pros: It gives good quality, fast, full duplex scans with a small footprint.
Cons: Only works with Windows, but not 64 bit Windows or Windows server 2003. It's a soft scanner, all the work is done in software on your PC. Sure would be nice to have a TWAIN device instead of a TWAIN software driver. But I guess that is why it is inexpensive.
Other Thoughts: I had hoped TWAIN support meant I could use it with my Linux PC. But for this product "Designed for Windows" means Windows required. But it does save to standard file formats, so at least I can copy the scans to where I want to use them.
