Really Nice
Pros: I decided to buy this over the IPOD because it has an AMOLED screen versus the IPOD's TFT screen. The screen is absolutely beautiful.
Cons: It can't surf the web, run apps and play good games. But then again that's what a computer and Nintendo DS are for.
Other Thoughts: A great machine if you want just a machine to play videos and music.

Pros: Nice screen and look. Cheap plastic, sound is ok.
Cons: Since I got it I have problem with connecting it (charging) with my PC. After 2 months of using SPINN stopped working, becauce there charging became impossible! Not WORTH BUYING at all.
Other Thoughts: Look at their support site - really bad. Very few FAQ's and the one firmware update they made available is VERY old. This company is NOT ready to sell in the USA.

Amazing Product
Pros: Amazing screen. Superb Sound Quality. Very good build quality and finish. FLAC/APE support in UMS mode. Good compatibility with DRM. Very customizable.
Cons: 16 bit screen olour depth. But, at it's price range, don't get greedy.
Other Thoughts: I own both Cowon S9 and Iriver SPINN, Here is my comparison.
->SPINN has way better build quality. Period. ->SPINN looks much much sexier. ->SPINN has a better sound chip (If you care to dig into the electronics of both products) ->SPINN sounds much better than the S9 with all "enhancements" turned OFF (due to the superior audio chip) ->S9 has better options for "enhancements" and sound modifications - a plus only if you like modifying your sound output ->S9 has better colour depth, but you pay almost $70 extra for that one advantage. ->SPINN out does S9 in FLAC playback in side-by-side test (I blind tested it on my brother) [All my music is in FLAC, and I do not use enhancements and equalizers... So, SPINN is an obvious winner in this scenario]
I have no idea what people are smoking when saying S9 is better in every way than SPINN. It simply is not true. At $99 for the SPINN, S9 is no where close to this sweet thing. Take my word for it!

Low Quality / Bas support
Pros: Nice interface, screen and look. Cheap plastic, sound is ok.
Cons: After first four days, player refused to play Rhapsody content. Support was terrible - obviously Rhapsody's fault - until I was able to figure out myself that the ONLY way to recover was via the very-hard-to-find SPINN reformat. (Windows and Rhapsody reformats did NOT work.) It turns out the problem stems from the fact that, on my SPINN, the date resets to 2005 when the battery dies. Even though iRiver claims this is not normal, they have refused to repair the still-under-warantee product. After all, why should I ever let the battery die? And if it DOES wear down, what's a couple hours of reformat and reload compared to the time and trouble iRiver would incur actually giving me a product that meets their own spec?
Stay away!
Other Thoughts: Look at their support site - really bad. Very few FAQ's and the one firmware update they made available is VERY old. This company is NOT ready to sell in the USA.

Needs Major Improvements
Pros: A nice color screen. Not much other than that....
Cons: Terrible UI. Case is plastic!!. not magnesium alloy. Horrible SRS EQ mode. The highs are so tinny sounding that you can not listen in this mode and I have a high end pair of earphones connected.
Other Thoughts: Even at the ninety nine dollar price,It's not worth it. A ipod nano for a few bucks more is a better bargain and I am not an Ipod fan.

Good item, at the right price
Pros: Looks great. Great screen.
Good audio quality.
Plays videos reasonably well for class of item. Book reading is extremely rudimentary (text only) but useful if your ebook is formatted well.
Excellent battery life (12-15 hours mostly audio)
Can connect as an external drive, so just copy files over and avoid using the invariably disastrous file management utilities that the manufacturers feel obliged to provide (see "cons" below)
Cons: iRiver software (Plus 3) utter garbage - crashes all the time, messed up my codecs so normal videos did not play properly on Media Player. Had to reinstall my regular video playing software. Zero support from iRiver.
Other Thoughts: Would have been nice if they included a sleeve for this item. I got it at a pretty good price here, considering sale and special 15% Paypal deal. This device is definitely NOT worth the MSRP of $300, but easily worth the roughly 150$ I paid.

works like a charm!
Pros: I was amazed by the fact that putting songs, movies, and any other files on this thing is relatively easy. The design is a nice, sleek aluminum with some plastic parts. The touch sensativity works when i want it too. I got this on sale for 140$, so for that amount i can tell you that if you were thinking about getting this, i would definitely buy it.
Cons: The only flaw I see in this product is that you have to constantly using 2 hands to navigate throughout the system. Other than that, everything else seems pretty good to me

Not ready for prime time yet
Pros: Cool design. Touch screen, Bluetooth. Good sound quality.
Cons: From the specs it sounds like a really cool device. However, Bluetooth functions poorly, interface is clunky at best, PC software is awful, touch screen works when it wants and it locks for no apparent reason - had to reset device a couple of times already. Device Software needs a lot of polishing. And last but not least iRiver's website is of no help at all.
Other Thoughts: This could be a great mp3 player if iRiver takes the time to fix it pronto.
