Rating + 4 Easy to use

Pros: Easy to use, easy to download, most of all rechargeable batteries. This is also voice recorder, fm radio and a usb flash drive.

Cons: The headphones and the slow download rate

Other Thoughts: I will get another one or two of them.

Rating + 5 ok by me

Pros: It does well in the way i wanted it for. In the car this player communcates very well. It shows all the titles on original CDs snd artist. It competes or beats the strongest FM radio channels for quality. The sound is clear and detailed. I like the pigtail as I feel the straight connnect in the radio is too rigid and iis inviiting disaster.

Media player transfer/syncs seemed fast to me,

The case seems sturdy. It is multifunction.

Cons: The ear phones are actuallly acceptable. The 1/8" minijack plug is the worst i ever saw.

The out of the vehicle navigation is the pits. You need long thumbnail to work it and the direction on how to navgate are sparse - trial and error will be your friend

Other Thoughts: I rated it too high - too bad

I will not hit it for the phones as mine worked with some fidgetting and sounded good enough.

So far it seems sturd and sounds good.

Rating + 1 don't buy it

Pros: I wished I read the review 1st before I purchase them.
one of review said all these features horribly difficult to use. That was so true. I had 3 different MP3. I figured out how to use in 5 min. This things took me half hour still couldn't figure it out. very frustrated.

Cons: The worst was I bought them for my 6 friends. They trusted me because I already had other mp3 and they were good. two of them are philips and even cheaper then Centon but was only 2GB.

Other Thoughts: Read the review first be4 you purchase any item.
I was fulled by seeing 8GB. I thought that was a good buy. Now all of them are sitting in the corner. Useless!
Because my friends don't know how to use.

Rating + 1 Stay Away

Pros: - has lots of memory in a compact size
- offers a good range of features (voice recoding, reads text files, plays music, fm player, etc.) - too bad the user interface makes all these features horribly difficult to use.

Cons: - data started getting corrupt within the first week. It was so bad that their internal program is actually overwriting my files. I now have tons of files where my resume used to be with names like "function(isQueue..." that say they are 98GB in size.
- it is the SLOWEST USB device ever. Seriously, in a USB 2.0 port it took over 35 minutes to transfer 650MB of data. My 4GB Kinston in the same port on the same computer with the same exact data took about 1/3 the time.
- it has no instructions
- it has a non-intuitive interface; as in the worst user interface ever!
- it has a MAGNETIC TOP. Seriously, what genius puts a magnet on a computer device?! Hard drives, floppy drives, etc. all contain magnetic data and if a strong enough magnet comes in contact with them you will have lost that data in conjunction with this normally corrupting USB data stick. Just pure moronic.
- it has an array of user options which it never remembers between power cycles even when the battery is full.
.

Other Thoughts: I got this for $30 after S&H about a month ago and all I can say is you get what you pay for - cheap junk. I got it because I really wanted something like the Sony 2GB gum stick sized mp3 player that my wife has, but with more memory. This was the only thing I could find like it at the time. I should have just bought 2 of the Sony sticks.

Rating + 1 A bad choice.

Pros: Size
Cost

Cons: Horrible Interface
Broken from day 1.
Can't see the control symbols on the click wheel thingie.

Other Thoughts: Mine was broken from the first time I charged it. It resets itself constantly, after 30 seconds or as much as 4 minutes, it just goes back to "initializing...!" and then starts over at the top menu.

I had no difficult loading MP3 files on it though.

The control interface is terrible, and there are no dedicated controls for volume.

Do yourself a favor and pass on this choice. It's just plain awful. Even if mine didn't reset itself constantly, it would be gathering dust now because it's so awkward to use.

Rating + 4 good, but it has several.... foibles

Pros: 4 in 1: radio, mp3, microphone / recording, and easy storage

Cons: Strange menu layout and functionality. takes quite a bit of getting used to. and, data transfers are SLOW. It may even be USB 1 or 1.1 under the hood. Either way, it is slow. i would guess 12 minutes per gig you put on there, and thats on a good day.

Other Thoughts: its cheap, its useful, and its cool. i gave it 4 eggs because of the easy storage aspect of it, otherwise it would have been a three egger. i would get one for my wife if they had a pink one.

Rating + 4 Nice for the price

Pros: Price, small size, aluminum body, holds 8gb, doubles as a flash drive, easy to load music, sound quality is ok, handy magnetic cap, comes with a USB cable extension, has a few equalizer settings.

Cons: Headphones are very low quality, menu is a bit odd but usable, buttons are kind of flimsy, file transfer is a little slow, could not find an equalizer setting that worked for everything, have to push a button to get to the volume control but it is doable by feel, song browsing and switching is slow.

Other Thoughts: I'll admit to never owning a amp3 player before but this player seems nice and functional albeit a little slow. The aluminum case is a nice touch but the buttons feel a little flimsy. You will definitely want to get your own headphones. Not only were the ones included quiet and poorly made, but instead of a left and right earbud the ones I received were both left! The menu is not the best but I didn't expect such a small device to have a great menu. I have my music separated into folders and navigating them is pretty straightforward but if you like to change songs manually a lot you will be disappointed. It will play through a folder to the next one on its own (if you set it to) but I haven't been able to get it to randomize through multiple folders, maybe im just missing something.
As Rip posted earlier, here is the manual http://www.centon.com/documents/user_guides/crazemp3.pdf

Its not the best but for the price its easy to forgive the mostly minor problems.

Rating + 4 A very decent mp3 player!

Pros: The blue color and the brushed aluminum look of the player is kind of cool. The other thing i like, is how it functions just like a USB flash drive. I plug it in, and Windows XP SP2 recognizes it without an issue. Pretty easy.

Cons: The LCD screen is not that big, but i knew that when i was buying it.

The user interface of the player takes a little getting used to - it's kind of cludgey. Sometimes annoying when you are looking for a song. After a few minutes of playing with the buttons you figure it out really quick.

The last thing i can think of, is how slow it takes to move files over to the mp3 player. The transfer rate is a little slow.

Other Thoughts: I really like this little guy. Has enough space for my music, and works with my Auxiliary cable in my car.

If you are looking for an mp3 player that acts just like a flash drive - then i would really consider picking this one up!

Rating + 1 Piece of ****

Pros: Price

Cons: Horrible UI, no manual that came with it, you have to search for the manual online to get it. And even after follow what little directions are on the manual it still continues to error. You have to reset the thing anytime to want to go to another feature. It goes on..

Other Thoughts: It's not even worth the price. You get what you pay for, I was going to settle with a very simple and cheap mp3 player, so I went into this knowing the features would be very limited and I'm still very disappointed. It's not worth the time, money, or hassle.

Pros: Not many pros other than I really liked the design, USB connectivity, and the 4GB storage.

Cons: It is just sitting as I could never properly load music into it. The instructions were in no way applicable to what I was sent. I got the gist of what they were trying to achieve but the user friendliness wore off the first 15 minutes.
The toggle switch was never consistent..I was never able to "toggle" into a folder or even find the ones I uploaded into the thing.
I have tried a dozen times to make it work, but like I said it just "sits"-waiting for a geek friend or two to visit and play with it and see if they can get it to perform.
The low cost was surprisingly the only thing I could justify in my ownership of this device..that has ended up playing "Hey There Little Schoolgirl" by Ten Years After-over and over and over again!

Other Thoughts: I went directly to the internet and searched for a good deal on iPods ..just cut to the chase. Since I am a staunch Mac owner I determined to just NOT look for bargains and get something functional and user friendly. I found an iPod 2nd Gen. Shuffle (Refurbished) for $36.00-free shipping..only 1 GB but what the heck. It works great..perfectly actually-no fuss, no muss...a pleasure to play-240 MP3 songs.

Rating + 4 Pretty good for the price

Pros: Size is decent (especially considering it sports 8 gigs). The blue color wouldn't have been my first choice, but it looks a lot better than the picture shows (ie, less feminine).
The back lighting is available in multiple colors which is cool, and the sound quality is actually pretty decent (once you get some decent phones).
Lots of features available, and all seem to work decently enough.
While the size is larger than you'd expect, it compensates with an optional USB cord in case you can't fit the player into the available slot for whatever reason.

And on top of it all, it works as a fully functional flash drive too.

Cons: First of all, there's no manual. I don't mind figuring things out for myself sometimes, but it'd be nice to have one to fall back on.
While it has a good amount of features, the control scheme is tough to use at times.
The available colors for the unit aren't ideal either (only light blue and pink).

Worst of all though would probably be the transfer time. It takes about twice the time to add songs to the unit than it has in all the other players I've owned.

Other Thoughts: While there are some cons to contend with, the overall experience is good. The controls are kind of tough to get used to, but with some patience, it's not bad. The transfer time isn't too bad either with a little planning.

If I'd paid a lot more for this, then these problems would be unacceptable, but it's well worth the price I paid.

Pros: Pretty handy. Small size, descent sound, easy to move songs onto it.

Cons: Takes some fiddling to get use to the UI. You will want a better pair of headphones.

Other Thoughts: For those of you having trouble making it work, here is a PDF manual:
http://www.centon.com/documents/user_guides/crazemp3.pdf

It isn't great, but it is better than nothing.

Rating + 3 Does what it needs to

Pros: 1. Lots of space and can function as a USB drive
2. FM Tuner
3. Can record off the FM tuner, so if you hear a song you want to look for later this will come in handy
4. Voice recorder
5. Different color backlights
6. Able to set a sleep mode
7. Pretty small size

Cons: 1. First and foremost, the menu is clunky. It's not too bad to get used to, but I wish there was a way to access songs more quickly.
2. No dedicated volume button. You have to go into a menu, THEN change the volume.
3. FM Tuner doesn't get the BEST reception, it's just okay.
4. It takes a few seconds to go to some options, like the voice recorder.
5. Comes with a bad quality set of headphones, get another pair.

Other Thoughts: Didn't come with an instruction manual so I had to fiddle around with it to figure out how to work it. A few problems I had until I figured it out were:

General
1. Holding the "up" button from any of the things it can do (MP3 player, voice recorder, FM tuner, etc) will send you back to the main menu.

MP3 Player
1. You have to stop/pause the song, then hit the up button and you can access the menu where you can choose folders for your albums.

FM Tuner
1. After setting the stations you want, to jump to them hit the Play/Pause button.

Overall for the price I paid I'm very satisfied with it. As long as it doesn't break in a week (Due to it's metal casing I doubt it would) I'm happy. I'm not sure if I'd buy it again, however, or just pay the extra money and get a better made MP3 player. As for now I'm pleased.

Rating + 2 Good concept, poor execution

Pros: Aluminum body, rechargeable battery, integrated clip, fairly small.

Cons: Horrible menu/controls - don't even think about planning to change songs or folders quickly and easily.

Cheap on/off switch - I don't think it will last more than a few weeks.

Slow transfer rates - took 5 minutes to transfer 100mb of music.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a broken half-working Creative Muvo T100 with no screen and I will probably be going back. Besides being smaller the Creative's logical control scheme makes a screen unnecessary while you absolutely need it on the Centon.

Rating + 4 its a good multi tasker

Pros: small, clip is useful, and all the other things advertised. The power saver mode is nice and the battery lasts a while (aprox 5-8 hrs). easy to transfer files to and from a pc.

Cons: The menu could have been designed better + it takes a while to get used to. Forget about choosing a song on the go. Playlists can be a hassle to select. Poor quality headphones should not have been included and the price should have been adjusted accordingly. + poor sound quality. takes a long time to turn on.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a USB that could also be used as a MP3 on the go and this took care of that nicely. It is rather inexpensive for all the capabilities that it does. In short the Craze is a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Rating + 3 Nice Small and Cheap MP3 Player

Pros: Small, about the size of Apple's new Nano.
Fits 8GiB of music, has the ability to play FM radio, and a voice recorder. Connects as a flash drive, so it works with Linux as well. The cap is magnetic which should keep it on nice and tight. The finish is actually metal, so the unit should hold up nicely. loading music is real simple, just treat it like a flash drive, drag and drop files. The super small size is great for use with exercising or using while working. It has a built in clip for your shirt if you like.

Cons: The headphones are ipod knockoffs. I don't like them, they seem cheaply made and look like they wont last. I will probably use an old Sony pair I have with the player.
The menu's are simple, navigation was a little odd, but easily figured out, but if used while running or in the car the menu is clunky and annoying. Oddly you need to go into a menu to adjust the volume. the included USB extend cable is only USB 1.1 not very handy.

Other Thoughts: I would have given it 4 stars if the volume was easily adjustable. I would have given it 5 stars if the headphones were not made of shoddy plastic and the rest of the menu was super easy to use. I don't expect Apple quality but I do expect headphones that look and feel and work as if they were not build 20 years ago. I mean my old original Gameboy from 1990 had better headphones.
