The best MP3 player i've ever owned
Pros: Nice screen, durable, gets good battery life, syncs with Xbox 360 nicely, Zune market place works well, Zune software easy to navigate, wireless sync, earphones lasted me longer than any other pair i've ever owned (i've owned Sony, Philips, and a set of iPod earphones and these have lasted me slightly longer than the Sony earphones), easy to use interface on the player itself, Microsoft firmware updates add new features that are actually useful like wireless sync
Cons: like the iPod, the battery isn't user replaceable which is annoying when you have a tendancy to overcharge the battery like if you sync it with the Xbox 360 but this problem has lessened since I have been able to sync it to my PC less by using wireless sync but this problem isn't exclusive to the Zune, the iPod has the same issue
Other Thoughts: This thing is insanely durable, both me and a friend of mine have had our Zunes for over a year and we've both put these things in our pockets with our keys and still, not a single scratch or hint of one after a year whereas my sansa scratched easy from day one and died a horrible death. Do yourself a favour, get it and a set of the premium earphones (the standard earphones are just as good as the iPod stock headphones but that's the issue, they are stock quality, the premium ones are very good for the price and worth your money)

Great deal on zune
Pros: Great size, wife loves it. She will probably never use all 4 gigs, but I'm sure she'll pad it up with pictures. Battery life is excellent. I personally enjoy the larger screen sizes. Zune software recognizes both my 80 and her 4 perfectly.
Cons: The Zune has brought all of the Apple fanboys out of mom's basement to attempt to bash this product.
Other Thoughts: So what - the 30GB Zune went down for a day. I remember seeing plenty of 1st, 2nd, 3rd....Gen iPod come back to the store for worse problems like, the hard drive crashed, or the screen went and stayed blank. I would love to have an iPod touch or an iPhone, but I'm not rich.

Works well, but xp owners beware
Pros: Feels awesome, runs good(so far), very easy to use Zune itself, works great with vista
Cons: Software! If you have vista you should have no(few) problems, but if you have xp you need to have media center which Microsoft no longer has available from what I can see.
Other Thoughts: Going of the con some more. This was a present to my mother and my parents only have windows xp, so this created quite a problem and we could not get it to work. I have vista so I was able to put a bunch of music on it anyway and they are going to upgrade to vista soon, so we did not have "big" problems with this.

Slight disappointment
Pros: Unknown, unit did not work.
Cons: Unit did not work. Bought as a Christmas present for my son.
Other Thoughts: Well, I talked with tech at Zune support, they will send me a box and it will have to get repaired or replaced. As best as I can recall, NewEgg did well with the shipping.

nice little player, annoying software
Pros: The actual device is pretty sweet, lightweight, good tactile feel to the controls
Cons: Software needs to integrate with windows OS, no disk so its download only and it's fussy with firewalls. Unfortunately the error messages are less than helpful and your OS software needs to be up to date in several places that a normal person probably doesn't bother with that are not automatically updated. Expect a 370mb download to update windows before you can get Zune to run. If you run into problems with the install expect to spend a lot of time digging through KB articles and forum posts as the error messages are completely meaningless.
Other Thoughts: If all you want to do is move songs off of cd's or your hard drive onto a player buy an off brand something that comes with minimal software.
Don't buy one as a gift to give to someone with minimal PC skills unless you are prepared to either preload the flash drive or install the software for them

Great stuff
Pros: Works FINE with 64 bit Vista. Doubles great as a digital photo viewer. I personally like the zune software, but then again I've never worked with iTunes.
Cons: I sometimes get sick of shuffling through menus, but that's a small price to pay.
Other Thoughts: I love how people say their tech knowledge level is "High", when they don't even know what software to download. If you have a 32bit OS, d/l the 32bit software. If you have a 64bit OS...you fill in the rest.

I research products
Pros: The Zune can interface with 64bit Vista. I talked to Microsoft support and they assured me it was compatible.
Cons: WIFI only connects you to Microsoft Store and no were else. Only if you are near an unsecure connection.
Other Thoughts: Make OS for Zune with Web brousing capability.

Pros: plays music and lil videos super good
Cons: DOES NOT work on any 64 bit OS, or server 2003 32 bit. the mp3 is confusing to use due they keys are super sensible. its hard to add and delete music with the software, comes LOCKED you need to run a setup on a PC in order to start using it.
Other Thoughts: onse u get pass all the setup stuff, the mp3 its a good deal.

Love it
Pros: The interface is great. The desktop software is good too (I am not a fan of iTunes or WMP, this is different enough to make me happy). Battery life seems right on target as well. I had it running for about 10 hours straight and it still had more than half it's charge.
Cons: I haven't found any yet.
Other Thoughts: This thing seems pretty tough. My first day with it, I went for a run on a treadmill and somehow managed to knock the Zune down onto the belt. It landed in front of me, I stepped on it mid jog, and it shot off the back and slid across the floor. It had some scuffs but they rubbed right off. I am very impressed with it's construction and materials.
This was purchased from Newegg for me as a gift. I am told Newegg was amazing as always ;-)

Best Small MP3 Player
Pros: I really don't know where to start this product is just that amazing. Radio gets great reception and I live near mountains and valleys. Zune software can be confusing at first, but when you figure it out it blows itunes out of the water. Headphones that come with produce great sound quality. Navigation is simple yet can be made complex with playlists and specifics if you feel like listening to a certain type of music. Touchpad is sensitive and is a great addition to the zune series. Don't worry about this thing being to quite, when on full blast the music almost blasted my ear drums out!
Cons: Make sure automatic updates is enabled or you will be running in circles trying to install the software. Can't realistically point out any flaws.
Other Thoughts: Bought right before the $10 price drop, and newegg refunded me $30 for the inconvenience! NEWEGG ROCKS!

Awesome
Pros: Easy to use, light weight, fast syncing. I've never had any trouble with it. I've used several other products, and none can match the ease of use. Excellent.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: I've had this for two and a half months, and it's awesome. The only thing I regret is not buying one with a larger capacity.

Typical Microsoft
Pros: This is a great piece of hardware. The menus are easy to navigate and the controls are intuitive. The screen provides great color yet is still easy to see in direct light.
Cons: You have to use the Microsoft Zune Software with your Zune. Being from Microsoft, this software does not work as it should and is incredibly difficult to get up and running.
Other Thoughts: Another great piece of hardware from Microsoft, which unfortunately requires an equally bad piece of software.

Pros: I've tried iPod before and I found Zune is easier to use. Great sound quality. This is my second MP3 player and my first one was iRiver iFP-390T.
Cons: The only con is it does not have an line in option. I was able to record audio using my old mp3 player. This is not important tho.
Other Thoughts: I'll buy another one if this is lost or broken.

Two thumbs up!
Pros: Easy setup. Great display. Sound quality is really good (especially with other head phones ;P) and battery life is as promised. Can transfer from and to any computer with Zune software installed without having to sync delete anything like the iPod.
Cons: None with the device but the software needs alot of work. It takes forever to install and doesnt work well on slower systems (I tried run it on my old P4 but it froze several of times). Also with the Zune software you cant change ID3 tags, that you have to do with any other media player or the WMP itself. The wifi doesnt have much functionality other than sucking battery life, unless your friends have Zune :/ And it doesnt have a clock.
Other Thoughts: After having my zune for a few weeks now I wish I got the 8gb one. But I wanted to try it out and not spend more than necessary to see if it was a great product. Which it is, it is a great product. Although I wish youd be able to chose what songs to sync via wifi from the device as well as videos and podcasts. Cause really, wireless sync right now is just a waste of battery. If you have to sit at your computer to chose what songs to go in you might as well plug it in and let it charge as well. Also MS has to fix up the PC software but other than that I just love it.

really nice
Pros: Great Features, awesome screen, awesome price, awesome sound, really good battery life, easy, intuitive controls, Zune Marketplace is easy and for an ignorable fee, if you should choose to use it. Can transfer stuff I download, not limited to Zune Marketplace. software was a snap, no hitches for me.
Cons: No equalizer, fm recorder, or voice recorder. But who honestly cares?
Other Thoughts: I've owned IPods before, and this blows them out of the water. No Ipod is this dependable, good looking, or good sounding. The battery life is pretty amazing, I've had this thing on all night and for most of this morning and it still has more than 3/4 battery left. It's only 4GB, but any normal user who isnt a movie fiend should be fine. If you want movies and other videos, or lots of pictures along with music, get at least the 8GB

Got what I expected
Pros: Neat little device. Plays video, music, radio. Solid-state storage well suited to portable media player. Almost the entire library available for trivial monthly subscription fee.
Cons: PC-side software Microsoft's own UI conventions, has problems signing onto the Zune Marketplace, and doesn't have as flexible playlist support as competing media device software.
Other Thoughts: Decent device, could be better with better software support.

Great Player
Pros: Beautiful screen, attractive interface, decent earphones, good radio, fun touchpad feels really nice to use, ultimately a good sync and software (as of mid January 2008). Wireless sync occasionally is useful.
Cons: Initially frustrated with software trying to sync too much music. "on the fly" conversion of Media Center TV to Zune is too slow. I used a third party free software to auto convert tv to Zune, but the 4GB was too small for my TV, music, and podcasts. I really wish I could delete podcasts from the device as I find myself constantly rewatching the first 30 seconds of old podcasts.
Other Thoughts: Currently 1.8 GB of music, and 1.4 GB of podcasts, no pictures, and occasionally a tv show. No use for the social song sharing.

100% Kickas
Pros: This mp3 player is like no other. It has an easy(i mean easy) interface and has FM radio, Wifi-sync(which you can sync the songs from your computer wireless instead of a usb cable, works nicely) has a nice bright screen. It is just soo great, i was thinking about buying the pod nano..then i just went for the zune to see how it's like and let me tell you it was worth the buy..and the touchpad is awsome. In my opinion it is better than the ipod because of the features..just i cant even explain it buy it you will be impressed of its size, value, and features.
Cons: -limited accesories -BUY it on the zune site if you want a design and your name on it...i regret not doing that its still 149.99 but let me tell you its a steal.
Other Thoughts: I had only wished to buy it through the zune site so i can get a custom design on it and my name.

Great Device, No More Per Song Fees!
Pros: With the monthly subscription to the zune site, you can download as many tracks onto your zune player as you want. Our old (non zune) mp3 player was giving us nothing but problems for months when trying to sync music to 3rd party music service sites using the digital rights management, but this one has been trouble free. Just drag the tracks over to the player icon and they download everytime. Best of all, with their monthly subscription, you can listen to a new album everyday without paying any per song fees like other providers charge. With one monthly subscription, you can listen to music on 3 computers and 3 portable zune devices at the same time.
Another notable feature is the ability to connect via your wireless network at home to sync rather than needing to connect it via USB to sync. With our old (non zune) mp3 player we would need to start up the third party software, and click a sync button, and usually it didn't work. Now, all we need to do is turn the device on.
Cons: No workout/gym type cases for your arm or around your neck come with it or are available at this time that I could find. We bought a small Case Logic case for around the neck and it fit perfectly.
Other Thoughts: My wife loves it! I'll buy another one for myself next.

huge improvement over old zunes
Pros: Small, almost the exact dimensions of the ipod nano before it got fat very light great new firmware and software had my doubts but the zune pad is awesome the pictures do it no justice, it looks great! sound quality is unmatched GUI is amazing podcasts wireless sync fm radio
Cons: editing song info in the software is a pain clicking down on the zune pad is really loud no EQ
Other Thoughts: the 5 star rating system has been replaced with a heart/broken heart/no heart system. Also, i am sure the cons will be addressed in the future as they are being discussed in the new zune forums at zune.net
