Pros: Very nice server is all I can say. It was my first shot at building one and I have since done 3.

Cons: Well none really. Yes the front door is plastic but that didn't bother me. Be advised that the part of the manual that deals with loading the driver for the raid controller is wrong. A quick call to tech support solved that issue and the drives are numbered 1 to 4 from the bottom of the drive bay not the top.

Other Thoughts: I took prev. feedback about overheating to heart and spent money for a good cooler fan. All 3 that I have built have been low gunned units meaning 2 to 2.5 gig cpu's. Two of them are in 5 client sized offices but the third runs 30 desktops and runs the co's main 3rd party software. Great buy love the sata over scsi.

Pros: Hot-swap front drive bays are very nice and work well. The bays combined with the backplane make this case friendly to system admins.

Cons: The door that seals off access to the drive bays sucks. It's ridiculously cheap for such an expensive system.

Little room to mount hard drives interally; if you want to add more drives once the bays are full, you are SOL.

Other Thoughts: I haven't experienced the cooling issues that everyone is talking about. I've got a 2.8ghz Prescott with the stock cooler and it averages about 42C idle and 54C under load with 4 hard drives in front of it! I've got the same processor in my desktop and it rarely drops below 45C (usually close to 60C under load) and that's WITH THE CASE OPEN.

I think the cooling issue is just the CPUs people are using. Prescotts just run hot.

Comments: I still think this "superWorkstation" is a great value after a few months of running. As others have stated the CPU runs hot and using the OEM heat sink is not an option. I had to buy an aftermarket (thanks NEWEGG) cooling solution to keep it from rebooting.

Comments: This barebone server is a very good value with its hot swap SATA Raid drive bays. Very well assembled but the case runs hot. Don't expect to use the OEM intel cooler, it runs too hot.
