Garmin Nuvi 370
Pros: Worked first time connected. Have loaded MP3 and bluetooth phone and all works great. Understands streets and directions in Chicago, soon to test on interstate to Indy. Bought an 8 GB card, but tech support said 4 GB was max, and that worked. You can load a lot of music and a picture or two for the splash screen. Also, the package is very complete, don't order any extras until after you get it, such as dashboard suction cups, etc.
Cons: Takes time to initialize and load the maps, but then works quickly. However, don't waste your money on the Fodor's Guides as they are incomplete (as far as North America is concerned.)
Other Thoughts: Unit handles North America and Europe and that's where I will be using the Nuvi 370. Also, the AC power rechargers have the 120-240 plug and the European plugs as well. Very nice..!

Excellent GPS
Pros: I am presently in Europe on a 4 week tour de France. I am astounded at how excellent this Garmin product works. I can not imagine traveling through Europe without this kind of technology. I just plug in the destination, or search for a hotel, ATM -- whatever (they are all included) -- and turn when and how told. It has even taken me down dirt roads in the mountains with incredible accuracy. This is a no brainer. The unit and the accessories are very well made. Technical assistance was solid (I had a few learning-curve questions).
Cons: As someone already mentioned, the volume could be a bit louder. I would also pay attetion and be careful how you attach the various electrical plugs. But these are minor concerns.
Other Thoughts: This is the only GPS I have ever owned. So I cannot give any comparative data. But the quality of the product has greatly impressed me. For the money, I don't know how you could beat this unit.

Happy with the purchase
Pros: Works as advertised. Text-to-speech good. Good battery life. Great price and quick delivery from Newegg. Thrilled with the purchase. POI was helpful.
Cons: Even with "fastest route" it still sent us on windy 1-lane roads in Ireland. Speaker saturated at high volume. New construction missing (not surprising).
Other Thoughts: We bought a +Europe model for an Ireland trip (paid for itself there); wife wanted text-to-speech so we got the 370 instead of the 270 and we have appreciated the MP3 player capability. I forgot to pack the automotive power cord but we pretty much got a full day's use out of a nightly charge. Finding B&B's in Ireland was challenging (no fault of GPS); some are advertising lat/lon coordinates which makes it easy.

Good So Far!
Pros: I bought this model for the Europe maps, so far it works fine in the U.S. finds satellites quickly. Very inexpensive it is now $150 more expensive then when I bought it.
Cons: Maps are missing some points that are within the last couple of years

So far so good, but not perfect.
Pros: Works in Europe. Beats Mapquest or Yahoo for the most part. Compact and mobile. Display is very readable.
Cons: Bluetooth quality is not the best. Sometimes it seems to give strange directions, especially in NJ. It's capability is far from flawless, but I must confess to being amazed at just how effective GPS Navigators are, and this one is no exception. Also the database for finding businesses always seems to be 2-3 years out of date, no matter how recent the download.
Other Thoughts: Get the 350 instead, unless you are absolutely sure you are going to use it in Europe. If you are buying it for the Bluetooth option I would avoid that thought. The sound quality is just not that good. Also use some common sense and evaluate the directions it is giving. Use the Zoom out feature and make sure it's not sending you to your destination via the next state.

Nuvi 370
Pros: Good price on Newegg. Both US and Europe maps. Text to Speech is good.
Cons: Bluetooth not compatible with MANY phones. I would not consider this a a bluetooth handsfree device as only older phones work with it. Limited updates or support for the Bluetooth.
Less than a week into purchase I had static in the speakers. Need to send to Garmin for exchange. No damage to boxes so it was most likely a manufacturing flaw.

Exceptional device!
Pros: Ready for action directly from the box (but online updates are strongly recommended, like any good computer); 3-mo POI subscription for some countries included; Easy to unlock the US AND European maps (to update latest updates); have had very little spoofing/ghosting of maps (note: Current European maps are 2006 so new road upgrades may vary from map); FM antennae requires DC current to process traffic Updates, but have found that using a rechargeable starter/charger like the xantrex POWERPACK-300EP from newegg allows one to use the NUVI in virtually any vehicle (like a bus with no power drop/cigarette lighter); Auto switches the background depending on the ambient lighting (day/night) to minimize glare; readable in extreme bright light; allows variance in vehicle size accordingly when setting up mapping (useful when driving a bus or RV and then getting into a car or motorcycle); able to locate nearest fuel point (find nearest ESSO in Germany!)
Cons: Volume maxed is still difficult to hear over the sound of struggling bus engine (unless located closer to driver); needs to have unit clipped into the mount in order to update from the internet, as there is only 1 mini USB slot – the unit needs to be plugged in to AC/DC as well as puter – mount has 2nd mini USB slot; does not understand WMA or ITune content – reads only MP3
Other Thoughts: Have not used this unit in the US yet, but was impressed with my brother's unit when on leave there, hence buying my own. Using the starter/charger combo opens the usage for HMMWV, HEMTT, BlueBird Bus and other vehicles without ready power drops and having MP3’s on the SD card gives a person something to listen to besides the drone of the engine and with the included audible.com, a person can even get some good learning/studying time in while on the road!

Nuvi -
Pros: I really like the light weight, easy use and high accuracy. We bought this for a month long trip to Europe where we were driving for a couple weeks and then taking a 2 week cruise. We used it to find our hotels and gas and then used it on the cruise at each port to find our way to sites and back to the port. After the trip it was perfect for use in our car. This little module is actually better than the navigation that we paid nearly $3000 for in our Mercedes CLK. Love the multiple languages (and voices) and its speed. I even love it's long battery life.
Cons: We couldn't easily figure out the use of the FM traffic.
