Nuvi 750
Pros: I have had this unit for almost a year and it has worked flawlessly. I paid $120 more for this unit when I bought it. Neweggs priced are great. I have a small business and have saved more in fuel then the unit cost.
Cons: Menu navigation could use some improvement. Suction cup does not work as well as it did and will drop off when it heats up. I recommend the dash top mount.
Other Thoughts: The previous reviewer said Garmin wanted $70 for map update. If I'm not mistaken Gamin will give you one free map update for the first year you own it. I updated the map for free when I first registered it.

great
Pros: love this unit. fast processor, accurate maps. Has some issues if you dock without power to the base in the car. Cannot complain at all and I have been using garmin units for 5 years.
Cons: gets confused so far when docking without power to dock. changed language to french and quick talking and default was avoid traffic for some reason on preferences and sent me down dirt roads till I found the setting.

Pros: I returned my TT with the smaller screen to the local store. Ordered this GPS and it arrived two days earlier than expected. This GPS is much better than my older Street Pilot and I like to transmitter option over my car stereo. The unit also has a chargeable battery and I will use it for GeoCaching. Screen is perfect in size and the graphics are crisp. The Touchscreen is doing a great job and I received more than I expected for the price!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Make sure you go to the Garmin Web Site and download some of the free options like custom pointers and voice.

Great Product!
Pros: I have had other brands of GPS units, and this one is the best. The touch screen is very sensitive. It doesn't require much pressure -- unlike the Magellan GPS units. The voices are great, and very clear. Garmin is offering a free maps upgrade for this unit on their website.
Cons: If powered off for a long period of time, it takes this unit a while to scan for satellites.

GARMIN nüvi 750 4.3" GPS Navigation
Pros: This GPS System is good when it comes to showing the route and speaking streat names and de-tours.
Cons: This GPS finds itself lost even after hiting the road, leaving you no where. Most of the time this GPS after switching it On, it stays in Acquiring Satellelite even after you have travelled 1/4th of your route on your own.
Other Thoughts: Especially, if you just couple of blocks out of City limits on your tour, the GPS stops on Poor Satellite Signal. This is a good one, but I'm not happy with this device,

Prefect for the Price
Pros: I was able to get this when newegg had it for $200. It does what I want as far as a GPS. It also is the only source of music in my car since there is now good stations to listen to.
Cons: My only complaint is that I had to go through hell to get the software for the third party software for Japan Maps to be loaded. That was expected though.
Other Thoughts: I wish Garmin had Japan maps available for this product.

A Great Deal GARMIN GPS
Pros: Super price deal @ $189. Fast shipping in 2 days. The unit is ready to go once you charge it. Takes about 4 hours to charge. First Map update is free. The update is very easy but requires connection to the internet. With high speed connection it was done in about 15 min. They have lots of extras if you want to add new voices and cars. Updates are done while the unit is connected to your computer. Everything goes straight to the unit with no hassles of installing. Our first trip was over 3000 miles and covered central to eastern states. We tried to get off route and this unit recalculated a new route every time in just a few seconds. The unit charges while connected to the computer and when connected to your car 12v. From city streets to country roads it works fantastic. A great deal and the best traveling companion you will ever have. This unit takes a short time to get used to but the amount of features are large. Very Large.
Cons: When using the unit in FM modulation mode for the TTS the channels can be fuzzy from stronger stations bleeding over. You may have to adjust the channels while in big city areas. If you have a input jack this will not be a factor at all. This was the only function that I did not like but as I sais it only happened in the really big citys. A quick change of station was all that was needed to fix the problem.
Other Thoughts: The unit takes many size formats of SD cards. MP3 and photo can be stored on the card for viewing and playback. While pluged into the computer the unit acts as a card reader for the SD card. A very nice feature for loading. I created a Picture and a music folder and did a drag and drop to load. Very nice feature. On long roads you can fire up music and a slide show of pictures and never stop your destination route.

Excellent Product - Great Price!
Pros: Fast delivery from newegg.com and a great price as well. Has a huge screen, speaks street names, tells you how fast you're going. You can look up restaurants, hospitals and gas stations...and get the telephone numbers for them as well. It's like having free directory assistance! Amazing product and a must buy for anyone interested in a GPS.
Cons: That I didn't buy it sooner!

Good PBS
Pros: Speaka your route and is very accurate. Could not find address down town, but the GPS got me there. Easy to install software and map updates. I really like ease of use too.
Cons: Does not come with carrying case. Also, the directions on use are really bad. Garmin should look into this and give the consumer something - anything. If it were not for the ease of use, I would have given this a 4 rating instead of 5.
Other Thoughts: My a carrying case when you purchase this device. also, so not mount to your windshield. I bough the dash weight for mine and it's great. It will not fall off no matter how you drive. REMEMBER the 750 is no longer produced, but for the price (New Egg 199.00) (RETAIL 399.99) you can't beat it.

Cons: None

Sweet Spot
Pros: as a discontinued model, clearly not the most heavily featured GPS on the market, HOWEVER for the money, this is the sweet spot for buying a car GPS to last 3-4 years. After this, plan on getting one pre-built into your vehicle (with the cool backing up camera + XM radio, etc) Definitely 5 Stars (in its price and feature range)
Cons: just read the specs and compare to other Garmins... this one doesn't do everything, but what it does, it does well.
this one has the option of playing its navigation instructions through FM radio, but I have never seen that work very well, and just stay with the tinny little speaker.
Other Thoughts: My Tech level is probably MAX for a NewEgg customer: years ago I operated the GPS satellites for the Air Force (2ndSOPS!) and later tested GPS field equipment. GARMIN is Always the way to go, for the map quality and tight route calc algorithm alone, then combine that with superior features and great reliability.... I have heard people complain about customer service, yet this is my 5th Garmin GPS unit, and the one time I have ever call Garmin C/S, they bent over backwards to assist. Go Garmin! Go NewEgg! GO Air Force!!!

First GPS...Impressive!!
Pros: Great image at 50% brightness Satellite signal at 5 full bars inside house. Fast satellite recognition Excellent touch screen
Cons: I can't belieive I am writing this after all the reviews I read on menu selection, etc. But I think I actually like TOM TOM menus better.
Other Thoughts: This unit is listed as discontinued on Garmins web site. But, when New Egg dropped this to $199, I placed my order. After 1 hour I felt like I had owned this for weeks. It is very easy to set up. All listed accessories were in the box. (Windshield mount, Dash mount disk, cables (12V. and computer) along with the quick start manual. I had downloaded and printed the full manual while I waited for my unit to arrive so I was able to navigate the menus fairly well right from the start. I updated the map with Garmins free 1x download tonight. The entire process took about 2 1/2 hours on a broadband connection with a Dell XPS400. Map is still not up to date with the road I live on. The road has been here for 5 years. Then again MS streets and trips '08, Google maps, etc. do not have it correct either. I have not tried the FM transmitter yet.

Don't understand the Garmin fuss
Pros: Interface is fine, but not great. Mapping is OK, but not as good as others. Speech is very clear.
Cons: Routing can be good, but much of the time it is just bad. Voice navigation can be off much of the time. Ex. the arrow will show to turn left, but the voice will state to turn right. Touch screen sensitivity could be better. Features for price just plane stink.
Other Thoughts: My issue is not that the Garmin Nuvi 750 is a bad unit. It is that it isn't as good as some of the others I own. It is worse than one unit and better than the other. (per the guidelines I can't "compare to competing brands"). Went on a trip with 2 other car loads of people. They both had the 750. (per my recommendation since I found a sale) and during our trip my favorite Non Garmin got us the fastest. I would follow my route from my Non Garmin and they would follow the garmin. I arrived at our desitination first every time but once. In the end I became the front car and they would just follow me.
I know people who swear by Gramin, but most of those have not tried a "good" alternative (or any alternative). I think we all get use to an interface and it is hard to switch. I would not say to rule out this GPS, but to look at others as well.
If this is a 1st time GPS purchase and you have not used any others than you will probably like this unit.

The Garmin nuvi 750
Pros: Great GPS. good features, almost all of the issues I read in these reviews are problems across current GPS models and brands. FM transmitters, even for ipod depend on the radio bandwidth traffic. Larger cities have more problems, nobody has conquered that yet.
Cons: This model has been discontinued by the manufacturer, so beware...although the price can't be beat!
Other Thoughts: Please visit the Garmin website to see what models are current and do a deature comparison, make sure this is the one you want...then come back here to buy it!

I'm impressed
Pros: Is really really easy to use. Don't need to RTM (read the manual). Starts up pretty fast. Gets me to my destinations. Tells the speed limits. Tells the distance to target destination continously. Finds hospitals wherever I am. Recalculates quickly after I alter the route. Tells you when a turn is coming up which helps to get in the correct turn lane. Shows curves and hills. Mount on winshield worked well.
Cons: Doesn't always show the best route to take. But you have to take that with a little grain of salt. It can't know things like if I take that route the road narrows from 2 lanes to one and in the mornings drivers merge in on each other mercilessly creating wrecks. Seems to always take the major route which is I assume is the business routes. It didn't have the wall wart charger. But the one I had for my motorola phone worked fine with it. Uses a usb plug in charger mini socket. Won't work off road well. I would have really appreciated it if it would work off road on hiking trails. I haven't actually tried it but from what I'm reading it won't work off road. If it does I'd appreciate it if someone would pass me the info on how to do it. Thanks.
Other Thoughts: Several times it produced a route that I wouldn't take. On the plus side, it rerouted quickly when I turned and showed me how to get there correctly from that point. Did this almost instantly which impressed me. I've resisted getting one for a long time. Now I'm glad I have this one. I highly recommend it. And the best part is the low price these days.

Great Product
Pros: I have had this product for more than a year, and have used it on numerous extensive trips. Screen size is great, as is the brightness. The features all work - no buggy vaporware. I especially like the ability to "pre-route" my trip, inserting waypoints in the destination so as to instruct the Garmin the direction I want to use to get to my final destination.
Cons: The only gripe I have is that files stored on the SD card cannot be deleted from the Garmin by itself. You will need to connect the Garmin to the PC/laptop, then use Explorer to delete files on the SD card. I have also had a couple occasions where the Garmin map was unaware of major highway construction - even though that construction was completed three years ago.
Other Thoughts: The 750 is now a discontinued model, but it is still a great product.

Nuvi 750
Pros: This unit is great, changable voices, highway speed limits are listed. Has and mp3 player that works pretty darn good and is very loud. Picture viewer seems to be a little faster then my nuvi 255w. says the street names nice and loud, i find the british voice to sound the best, with no chops or pauses between pronouncing words. great unit
Cons: there are a few things i dislike but its not a neweggs problem, i like the nuvi 255w's screen layout more,
when you set it on a destination is gives you the time youll arrive and the directions your going and how long till the next turn. on the 255w, it tells you all that and gives you the speed your traveling. i think its screen layout is designed a little better, it almost makes me want to trade my wife for my 255w back but still, you cant go wrong with either GPS.
Other Thoughts: why do i love bacon so much?

Just what I needed
Pros: ~Insert specs here~
I love the media player, super simple and plugs right into my cars stereo...
Does it's job, works perfectly
Great price!
Cons: Turns out you have to use (TTS) voices for the street names. That's unfortunate... I was really hoping to have GLaDOS lead me... (not really a con though...)
NO bluetooth :'(
I'm only one model number away (available on 760+) ~it's ok though... I didn't really need bluetooth...
Other Thoughts: I'll be moving to a larger town soon and this should get me home every night...

Has It's Ups And Downs
Pros: Decently sized widescreen. Shows speed limits in certain areas and highways. Readable text in a full sunny day and not too bright at night. Turn-by-turn navigation in many languages (useful for people who don't understand English). Nice slim design and not like the ones you get at rental cars. Has a speedometer (pretty accurate), trip meter, and odometer. Where Am I Feature is brilliant. Ability to save random locations if you like to go out to a field or something. Detour feature is decent. Capability to continue to your final destination if you were to eat-in at a fast food restaurant or fill up for gas.
Cons: Takes a while to boot up if left in the freezing cold. Takes a while to acquire satellites sometimes. Avoidance system not working completely, took me to a toll road a couple of times in MA. When using the MP3 feature, music gets interrupted when it tells you to turn or when approaching an exit. Fastest route != Fastest (and easily to drive) route sometimes. Gets lost in MA sometimes.
Other Thoughts: Useless in So Cal in the Grid System but brilliant in Boston. Could use a glass screen/better processor to play MP3s and give voice commands at the same time. Doesn't know many places in Boston: -Told it to take me to a gas station, but the gas station was no where in sight and instead took me to a bricked building -Told me to take a left turn thru a one way street -Told me to make a left turn when there was a sign that said "No Left Turn" -Missed a destination by a mile

Garmin 750
Pros: Great unit, fast satellite lock. Easy to put in/remove from the mount, the cable connects to the mount so when you remove the GPS from the mount there are no wires to disconnect. I make much more use out of the multi-point routing features then I ever thought I would.
Cons: I wish the Nuvi line would let you customize what is displayed on the map screen.
Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best for fast delivery and great customer service.

Handy Travel Tool
Pros: Used this on two different business trips already and it works great.
It will show the speed limit for roads it knows of on the left hand side of the screen, very handy for those areas where you are not familiar with the limits.
Cons: Good grief it took me almost 4 hours to get the thing up and running out of the box.
Hooked it up to my PC, registered it and ran the gramin updater. It updated some software and then had me turn it off and connect to the computer again.
After a 2.3 Gigabyte download it tied up my machine for about 35 minutes compiling the update and installing it.
Other Thoughts: You get 60 days from registration (and I actually think it is 60 days from first GPS signal) to get free updates for the maps. So make sure to update it when you get it and mark your calendar to update again before your time is up.

Very Good GPS
Pros: Quick to acquire satellite, good user interface
Cons: FM transmitter not very good...lots of distortion Transmitter overrides radio. You may as well not use this function. Very minimal documentation.
Other Thoughts: I ordered this on a Wed. night and received it on Friday evening. It is easy to use right out of the box. I don't understand complaints I have read about this being slow to acquire a satellite. My average time to acquire satellite is around 1 minute. The fastest so far has been about 10 seconds. This product has exceeded my expectations and I plan on recommending this to all of my friends.

Not a happy camper
Pros: Screen size, thickness, sound level, MP3 player remembers the position and starts about 5 sec before the place it was stopped - great for the mp3 audiobooks, trip planner, "where am I", routing engine, battery life, multidestination rout optimization, 6mil of POIs.
Cons: Accuracy, screen redrawing speed, boot time, FM transmitter is useless, no favorites organization by type, no AC charger, delayed recalculations, no WAAS, no track options, no "easiest routing option", no chime before the driving directions.
Other Thoughts: One of the most annoying for me is the phrase in the beginning of each trip "Drive to the highlighted rout" - if I new how, I might not need a GPS. If the unit were as good in following its routs as it' good in choosing them it would more useful. Sometimes it gives the directions rather late. To bad it's still one of the best on the market.

garmin nuvi 750
Pros: pretty easy to use. it has a large bright screen thats easy to see in sunlight. i use this for work everyday to find clients addresses and for road trips out of town. the mapping software is decent and the updates are good but time consuming to load.
Cons: fm transmitter is a joke, when it does work it will drain the battery within an hour or two and no ac charger included. the battery is my biggest gripe with this product, its pretty much worthless, mine hardly lasted 3 months even with very little battery useage. i bought the ac charger, but the battery wont hold a charge for more than a few minutes anymore and neither the car docking station or usb interface will charge the battery.
Other Thoughts: garmin makes the customer pay for shipping to return the defective product for warranty repairs, then you have to wait 10-14 business days to get it back. i will not buy another product from garmin EVER again, its not a warranty if you have to pay to have it fixed.

Great GPS
Pros: I can't say enough about this great GPS unit. The LCD display is very bright and readable in full sunlight. The map graphics make it easy to see your position on the route and upcoming turn locations. The voice speaks street names clearly and the adjustable audio level provides enough volume to here it over road noise. Turn announcements are timed perfectly and are repeated just in advance of the turn. The wording of turn instructions is also clearly understandable. The GPS receiver sensitivity is excellent and I've been able to mount it low on my van's dashboard away from the windshield with no problem acquiring the satellites. The menu system is easy to use and intuitive. Searching for nearest hotels, restaurants and other points of interest is easy to use and works amazingly fast. It's easy to save your own favorite locations, and I've made good use of Garmin's downloadable "Points of Interest Loader" program works great for loading your own special POI's.
Cons: The FM transmitter is usable, but weak and its channel range could be wider. I use the audio jack when playing MP3's.
Other Thoughts: This unit has everything I wanted in a GPS. If you really want to get into it, there is a host of free programs out there for managing and loading special points of interest, talking tours of cities, custom Icons etc.. You can even download special POI databases from the internet and load them to the GPS. but basically the Nuvi 750 works great out of the box with no need for anything else.

Garmin Nuvi 750
Pros: Easy to use right out of the box, finds satellites very quickly, I am up and running in less than 10 seconds. Easy to use touch interface, and a nice wide screen on the unit. The FM feature works great with my radio, with no hissing or pops, and the mp3 player is great on those long trips when you can't find a good radio station to listen to. Overall I am very pleased with this product and would purchase it again in a heart beat.
Cons: Does not come with an AC adapter, had to be purchased separately. Just as others have said here, the suction cup on the windshield base will let loose on some windshields like mine, and will need to use the included sticky base to attach to your dash.
Other Thoughts: Check Garmins website when your receive your product as there may be an update for your unit. The process was very simple to update. Also sometimes you may be eligible for map updates depending on when you bought your product.

it is OK but
Pros: it works, SEEMS to be accurate
Cons: It is not as accurate as the spec says - try to make wrong turn on purpose and watch the little car location, not real, it is animation-like.
Other Thoughts: FM feature - joke, sometimes brain damage,

I love this thing !
Pros: Does well at almost everything, finds a good route, and redirection is good wen you miss a turn.
Cons: Once in a while it goes brain dead and takes you a short route with a lot of traffic or hills.

Like it, but will get different one
Pros: Easy menus, pretty accurate, new maps on garmin website for free, lots of extras. The voice prompts are very good, unless ran through the FM, then it gets worse.
Cons: No traffic receiver build in! I did not research properly and then I found out after I got it that it is not Bluetooth capable nor it has a traffic receiver. Not a con at all, only my mistake. The only con I can think of is that it puts to much of a glare of my car windshield :)
Other Thoughts: I'll be getting the nuvi 780 today. I want a GPS especially for the traffic and because the receivers for this nuvi 750 run about $200 it does not make sense to keep it, I'll just buy a new one. Also I need bluetooth. However, I would definitely recommend this unit. It is simple to use and very reliable. At least where I live. Also it became very cheap. I just did not do my research properly, otherwise i would definitely keep it.

Pros: gets good reviews
Cons: My product was stuck in continuous reboots until software updated. No useful troubleshooting info in the box and no weekend tech support
Other Thoughts: Now less than 12 hrs later, it's completely dead. Won't turn on, not recognized by PC. Need to RMA an exchange

Good overall, not perfect
Pros: Loud clear voice, gives street names, and maps are easy to follow. Tons of POIs in every possible category. Lots of features like a music player and tools to help travelers. Large screen is a huge plus.
Cons: Gets confused easily when making a turn off the route. Recomputes to weird locations (like on the other side an intersection then were you actually are). A bit expensive for the feature set.
Other Thoughts: The windshield mount is useless if your windshield is curved. I took the dashboard mount and glued it to my dash and used the suction cup on that for a good study connection.

I'm Amazed
Pros: All the reviews say the 7 series from Garmin is number one. I bought the 750 because I got the best navigation without expensive, questionable features. The screen is big, bright, and easy to see. The menus and operating system are very straight forward. I got the 2009 maps from the Garmin website for free!
Cons: Updating the operating system and maps took hours. TIP: The map program insists on using the C drive. My boot drive is not C so the program got stuck. Thats a software bug. I was able to work around by getting a 4GB memory stick and making sure it was the C drive under Computer Management > Disk Management. The program was okay with that, reading/writing from the memory stick. First problem like this I've ever seen.
Other Thoughts: I'm amazed by what they can stick in this tiny device and make it do. WRT other reviews - Is this device slow acquiring satellites or making computations? Maybe by comparison but I cant tell that it affects usability. It doesnt have an arrow? The top line on the screen always spells out the next turn "Left on Maple....". An arrow appears on the screen when the turn is within the map. Add in the mileage countdown to the next turn indicator and the nagging voice and I dont see how you can miss. If this is all the professional reviewers can find to pick on then this is one terrific device.

Great Product - Like Magic
Pros: I purchased my Garmin nüvi 750 from Amaz0n (sorry, Newegg) in late May 2008. I called Garmin and told them that I had last year's map installed (because, at the time of my purchase, Garmin had released the 2009 map series). They overnighted me the map update! Great product and great support from Garmin. I've used this GPS all over PA, NJ, and NY. This GPS makes driving worry-free whether driving through the back roads of PA or the confusing network of roads in NJ. There are millions of Point of Interest (POI) in this little GPS, and the “Where Am I” feature is great—I used it to find a local hospital in an emergency and the 750 provided the phone number, too! The 750 has a great, wide screen that looks stunning either day or night. Touch screen works very well. Features are deep and rich (if you wish to go that far). I’ve mounted this on my dash using the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount.
Cons: The FM transmitter pops and crackles. This may be typical of FM transmitting, since my Sirius Sportster radio used to do that, too--before I hardwired it to my vehicle's audio system.
Other Thoughts: I've used Garmin products while hunting and during two deployments to Afghanistan. Garmin is the best--no contest. Also, Garmin's website compare feature let me determine that the 750 was my best price-point for features. If you have any questions of problems, call Garmin to speak with someone in the US who speaks fluent English. Garmin has some of the best customer service in the world. Thank you, Garmin!

Nuvi 750
Pros: Works without a problem. Finds the satellites quickly when you are in the same area, if you fly around the country it takes a little bit to get situated but hasn't been more than a minute or two for me. I fly a lot and it is usually ready to go before I'm ready to pull out of the rental car lot.
Cons: Could do a better job rerouting when you miss a turn or if there is a construction detour - it keeps wanting to have you make a u turn for quite a while before it figures out who's the boss.
Other Thoughts: I haven't had any problem with mine and I use it extensively for business travel. I'm in multiple cities per week and I use it religiously. I can only imagine how much easier the beginning of my career would have been with one of these things.

Very good, but...
Pros: First of all, this is a good product. Its screen is bright and clear, the touch device works very good, and you don’t need to press twice almost never. The navigation is fast, and despite some previous reviews, the satellite acquisition is very fast.
Cons: Once you get used to a GPS, you have the tendency to believe it from your heart. DON’T DO IT!!! After navigating with it for a couple of weeks in Vermont, it was the end of my long vacation, and I had to go back to NY, to get my plane. I asked for JFK Airport, in NY, and I was sent to the middle of nowhere! I had a plane to get in a few hours and was almost 400 miles away. It took me to the wrong destination. I check it, and re-check it, but the address was correct, the directions were wrong. I turn it off, and asked for direction in a gas station. Finally got there. The guy behind me on the check-in had the same bad experience. Together with the wrong directions, the GPS stopped saying the directions, just showing them on the screen. Had the firm ware update to 2.90 and now everything is back to normal.
Other Thoughts: Again, the product is good, but I think that the firmware update, resolve the problem. The GPS satellite signal, obviously, tend to get weak around big buildings (i.e. Manhattan). Don’t trust your GPS completely. You have to have your direction sense turned on… :o)

Respectable
Pros: Pretty accurate! Quick at recalculating. Pretty easy to set up.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: You can get better features from other companies for about the same price. The little woman in the box gets testy when you make her "Recalculate"!

Nuvi 750 Review
Pros: The 750 finds routes fast and accurately. You will find in areas you are familar with, it may not take the, "short cuts" that you know, but it will get you there in about the same time frame. Refresh is very quick. Updates are quick and fairly easy. I spent a lot of time researching all makes and models. I felt for the money, and what I wanted in a GPS, this was by far the best unit.
Cons: Non replaceable battery. When the battery goes, you can only use it hooked to a power source. But, by the time the batter does go, I will be ready to upgrade anyway.
Other Thoughts: New Egg delivery was exceptional. I wish the company I worked for would take a lesson on delivery to customers from New Egg!

Excellent GPS
Pros: Very clear & Bright screen, Accurate maps & routing, Large (Wide) display, Easy to use right out of the box, great sattelite reception even indoors near a window, fast recalculations, excellent POI database; Good value
Cons: GPS doesn't ask shorter or faster route each time (can only be set for default choice for all routes); FM transmitter has quite a bit of static, suction cup loses suction after a few weeks
Other Thoughts: I have owned several Garmin GPS including the Street Pilot III, 2720 & 250W. This model has the best & quickest satelite reception. The new Garmins no longer prompt for a faster or shorter route on an individual route basis. Glaring ommision. At leaset the Nuvi 7xx series can recalculate to a shorter or faster route after the route started and after clicking through a few screens (the other series can not even not do that). Purchase the bean bag mount; much more convenient and practical than the suction cup.

Gota Get a Garmin
Pros: Extreamally Easy to use Maps updates are current Fast Satellite Signal Acquisition
Cons: FM transmitter is weak No full user manual in box
Other Thoughts: I just got my garmin 750 and must say it is the best GPS I ever owned. I have read other reviews that said the satellite signal takes a long time to acquire, not here. Within 35 seconds I had a full signal. I also read other reviews stating the unit was sluggish when routing and detouring. I am not sure if they are old reviews but my unit rerouted and detoured in mere seconds.
Overall I think this product is a excellent product with the exception of the FM transmitter. The FM transmitter is useless in my area because it is so weak but that is the only downside I can see at this time.
It took over 2 hours to download and update the maps on the gps but well worth it. I live in a new developement, less than 2 years old. It's not even listed on google maps yet but the new garmin 2009 map had it. The first time I saw on development on ANY map! COOL!!

Great Product
Pros: I found the NUVI 750 GPS receiver to have great sensitivity even acquiring satellites well indoors. This was a concern because I like to have the unit mounted on my dashboard, away from the windshield. (If there was a sensetivety problem the unit has an external antenna connector, but it won't be needed.) The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. Audible turn alerts are easy to hear and understand. It provides the name of the street and repeats just before the turn so you don't miss it. It will also let you know if an exit is on the left or right side of the road. If you deviate from the route, the unit quickly recalculates the new route. The screen is bright enough, so I can read it in strong sun light. The map route is hi-lighted and the automobile track symbol is easy to see. When you need to turn, a bold arrow shows the path. The FM transmitter works well and is useful for the built in MP3 player as well as the voice prompts.
Cons: Not many. The media player interface could be better. It uses the mp3 file tag information; song title, album title, artist etc. for song selection which works best if you create play lists. I like to sort my mp3's into album folders, but the NUVI does not use that type of organization. I like to create and save a lot of waypoints, and custom points of interest, and save my favorite destinations. I had to download the Garmin "Points of Interest Loader" software from their site. I'm still working to get the Custom Points of interest to work with the CSV data file import. Of course, this is all optional stuff and you don't really need it.

Pros: Bought for a friend. Havent used it myself be he said he loves it and couldn't imageine being without it now.
Cons: None he could think of.
Other Thoughts: Very nice unit. If it is a little two pricy, think of getting the V7 Navigation units. They are around $200. That is the one I eprsonally own and LOVE.

Good but not error proof
Pros: The screen size is great, voice is very loud, the p3 player is very easy to navigate. Many great features.
Cons: This product is not 100 accurate, especially on new developments. For that price I think Garmin could have done more.
Other Thoughts: Battery life is supposed to be five hours but expect about 4 hours max

FANTASTIC!!
Pros: Everything this unit almost does it all, I didn't need or want the bluetooth feature which also boosts the costs of these GPS devices up about 100 dollars or more. It is nice to play mp3s on the unit that way your music pauses for the TTS commands and your music wont drown out the device and keep you from hearing a turn. Tons of POIs I've used this feature to look up phone numbers for places as well and was able to find a bank in seconds in a side of town I am unfamiliar with. Volume is very adequate unless you are playing your radio loudly. Language guide is very nice too if you are traveling in another country although these cost extra.
Cons: The voice commands (TTS) are said often which is a con since I am trying to listen to my mp3s on the unit and they keep pausing for the voice commands and I can't seem to find a way to have the voice commands repeat less frequently.
FM transmitter is not very strong and prone to interference on almost any channel, only useful maybe in the country with less radio stations around.
One final con is lack of a comprehensive owners manual, most of the stuff can be fifured out and the interface is very fluid, not clunky at all.
Other Thoughts: Make sure you get the auxillary hook up cable, don't count on the FM transmitter. Maybe get an SD card for it to hold your mp3 collection.
Otherwise this is an awesome buy and worth every penny.

Love it!
Pros: Advanced routing, gives you an idea of how long it is between your points of interest. Made planning a lot easier. Night time mode. Ease of use.
Cons: A lot of interference when using the FM interface.
Other Thoughts: Can use the additional maps and Language guide from my Nuvi 350.

Garmin is the only name in GPS
Pros: Easy to use, slim design, accurate, GREAT signal in CA even in valleys and inside, its an MP3 player too(w/ headphone jack,) awesome map display... It's easy to find places you are looking for with a tap of the GO TO! feature. Can save destinations and routes. You can edit routes and destinations w/ the GPS off to save power. Has modes for bikes, pedestrians, and auto's. It has a menu of food, gas stations, entertainment, what ever is in the area and with a simple GO! you are on the way. If you miss a turn or don't want to take exactly the route it plans (due to traffic or lights) it recalculates very quickly. Gives me confidence to drive anywhere. (ie. off road/4x4)
Cons: Some (really) new address/streets are not in the maps yet, but i am contacting GARMIN to find out when the 2008 data comes out. Also, Sometimes the route it determines is the fastest; is not the simplest way to get there. (ie. 3 turns instead of 2)
Other Thoughts: I even use this to log the miles i run and in my pocket it still gets perfect reception...RUNNING! I tested out the TOMTOM before i decided to get the GARMIN and the GARMIN is a far better product all around. Best money i ever spent on electronics in 24 years. I would never buy another GPS'; unless its a GARMIN. Also Newegg is the BEST at shipping, keeping stuff in stock, customer service, returns... There credit department is another story. (worthless)
