Works well
Pros: Easy to understand right out of the box. Got me to where I was going.
Cons: Used the setting, "Use Freeways Most", and it took me a little out of my way (put me on a Route instead of an Interstate), but I still arrived at the destination.
Other Thoughts: Nice looking graphics, quick calculations, and good video settings. Wish the volume could go a little louder, but I'll just have to turn down the stereo.

Pros: This unit is really ready to use right out of the box. It is very easy to use and program your route. Fast signal capture. I called Magellan's toll-free customer service number to ask a question on how large an SD Card the unit could support and I was assisted by a very helpful, English speaking representative who answered all of my questions. BTW the larges SD Card supported is 2 gigs.
Cons: Does not come with an AC charger but these are easy to find at your local radio/electronics house.
Other Thoughts: If you can not find the information you are looking for on the newegg site, the Magellan site might have the answer. The screen can be seen in bright light, if not move it to another location on your windshield or dash. The spoken directions are loud enough to be heard at highway speeds with the radio at a moderate level.

You get what you pay for
Pros: easy to operate, its a GPS, small and portable, fast tracking time.
Cons: 1)doesn't come with AC Adapter 2)bluetooth doesn't connect automaticly and it very unclear
Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for...cloudy weather takes a while for the GPS to get signal

Pros: Bluetooth capability Price AAA POI's
Cons: Must be charged in car. POI Editor can only be used in .mgln format If you buy the ac adaptor from magellan.com make sure you purchase the correct plug to attach...(They are sold seperately!?!?)
Other Thoughts: Good for the Price

Pros: This thing is great. I almost want to take trips just so I can use it. So easy to use that my wife, who has a low understanding of technical things, can program a trip and use it to find her way to a new location and home again.
Cons: Didn't come with an AC adapter. It would be great to keep it charged in the house, but charges while being used in the car. Found out that in order to do firmware upgrade I need an SD card.

Great...once it gets up and running
Pros: The text to speech works great. I love the bluetooth capability. I have no problems with the voice or the volume - it works for me. Screen is clear and large enough for my needs. Touch screen works great. Simple and easy to use. SUPER-fast shipping from Newegg. I received it the day after I ordered it.
Cons: For some reason, the start-up/load time is very slow. If I don't drive my car for a day or two, it will take the unit 2-5 minutes to search for and find the satellites. If I go to the store for an hour or so, and then turn the unit back on again, it will find the satellites immediately. But in the mornings, the 2-5 minute wait is annoying.
Other Thoughts: No mp3 player. That might have been nice. But overall, for the price, I'd reccommend this unit.

Not Bad
Pros: Very easy to just pick up and use. Picks up satellites fast, and route calculations are on the order of about 5 seconds or so. Has text-to-speech, so it'll read off exit numbers and road names. Has bluetooth, so you can pair it with your phone and make calls if you associate a number with your stored addresses. Screen is bright and clear, and touchscreen navigation is snappy. Great price.
Cons: Speaker sounds a little boxy ... you'll have to crank it if you have a loud car. And the text-to-speech isn't the best... road names can be indecipherable sometimes. It tried to get me to turn down a one-way street once, too, but that might be because of outdated maps rather than just stupid routing. Doesn't come with an AC adapter and won't charge over USB. Firmware upgrade is a royal pain, and requires a 16MB SD card.
Other Thoughts: For the price you really can't go wrong. If you're a heavy traveler you might want to go with something a little higher-end. But if the idea of paying a couple bills to never have to look up directions again intrigues you, look no further!

Excellent GPS for Price!
Pros: Very easy to use right out of the box! Very accurate with clear female voice prompts. The Bluetooth interface works fantastic with my cellphone. The sound is very clear and is loud enough to hear with windows down on a busy highway. So far VERY happy with this product!
Cons: Sometimes tells you to make a turn onto a road you can't such as a oneway street. But will recalulate quickly once you pass it and provides alternate route.
Other Thoughts: For those looking for good quality GPS for an affordable price, this is it!

Magellan Maestro 3140
Pros: This GPS is awesome and delivers what a unit worth 2x the price is worth. Out of the box we traveled all over southern Cali, with no problems or stress!!! Love the Text to Speech functionality!!!
Cons: Very little instructions an how to upgrade software, its not easily understood that a smartcard is needed.

Not bad for the price
Pros: Text-to-speech is a nice feature for a unit at this price. It does seem to route fairly well and the Exit ramp POI feature is nice since it won't give you places that would require you to turn around while driving down the highway. The touchscreen is better than the one on my Garmin c330 and the keyboard system is excellent.
Cons: Perhaps I was zoomed in or out too far, but the map did not scroll very smoothly which made it difficult to know exactly where we were on the map when there was not much distance between streets (we had problems in downtown Philadelphia). Also tried to turn us down one way streets a few times. No physical volume control which makes it hard to adjust while driving. Personally, I would like the ac adapter to plug into the mount rather than the unit directly. Handsfree quality is marginal but pairing is simple.
Other Thoughts: Overall, it's not an awful unit. For the price that newegg sells it, it does an ok job. If you want a basic unit at a cheap price, this is a good option. If you have a little more money to spend, I would recommend a Garmin unit.

This thing is excellent!
Pros: Easy to use, easy to read, works right out of the box. The text to speech is clear and the directions it gives are concise. It gave me a heads up at 2 miles, 1 mile and .5 miles out, with the street name. It calculates/recalculates the route quickly. The design of the case is durrable.
Cons: The POI editor on the CD isn't very good.
Other Thoughts: I drive about 90 miles a day all over greater Denver for spa repair. The roads are, for the most part, bumpy and the windshield mount hangs on pretty good. It was the best money I spent on a navigation system so far.

Great Tool!
Pros: Does everything I want it to and more. Over 600 miles of deliveries and it hasn't missed a stop. Right on the money every time. Gives streets by name, multiple stop ability (max 10) that arranges them in order for you. Has trip data totals and hands free phone. Female voice (unchangable) very clear.
Cons: Can't think of any.
Other Thoughts: I really wanted the other top rated brand but could not find one to do all that I needed in my price range. Newegg made my decision for me with the perfect product at a great price. Thank you Newegg!

Excellent Product
Pros: Great resolution, great navigation, great tools, many great features, bluetooth, and has everything you need in a GPS!
Cons: Not much of a con, but 3.5 inch screen bothers me... I would've liked 4.3 inch screen but they are too expensive. Not much of a con for me, but low battery life (about 2-3 hours)
Other Thoughts: GREAT PRODUCT FOR ITS PRICE!!
