Not User Friendly
Pros: Advertising made it seem like it was a user friendly, simple system to set up. Visually images looked clear and correspond to day and night time.
Cons: NOT USER FRIENDLY. After speaking to the manufacturers and many other experts, it is not a user- friendly, simple GPS. Rather, it's frustrating that you make one command and it does something different. You can't easily enter your address and the address you are seeking and get the gps to guide you. Often times it didn't even know your current location. After using the CD, getting customer support, and speaking with numerous experts, it was rather dissappointing. We are still lost and this was purchased to keep us from getting lost!
Other Thoughts: After taking all the time to find out if this GSP system was working properly or if it was a matter of becoming more technologically advanced, 30 days had passed and newegg was not able to offer a replacement or a refund. Very dissappointing! Maybe someone who is more tech savvy will buy it online. Very very dissappointing!

MAP IS WAY OUTDATED
Pros: Cheap, easy to use, does the job
Cons: Mine came with a Map last updated in 2004. It is missing lots of important new roads such as Dallas' and Austin's new toll roads. Manufacturer has been saying it will release map upgrade "soon" for almost a year.
Other Thoughts: If you live or travel in an area with roads that haven't changed in 5 years it will help you. Otherwise pick one you can keep maps updated such as TomTom's

Excellent for Price
Pros: Excellent software, and with the SIRFStar 3 chip in it, less than two minutes from a cold boot to getting your position. With a little tweaking that is easy to locate online, I was able to get a fully functional media player (MP3, MPG, Divx) and the screen is of much higher quality than most devices in its class. You can watch a movie quality divx file on this thing with no pixelation or "smearing." Was also able to load a few games on it.
Cons: Mio has not returned my emails for a request to get updated maps beyond October of 06. I contacted the map manufacturer directly with the same lack of response.
Has a "dumbed-down" version of Windows CE 5.0.
Other Thoughts: Mio didn't realize the value of what they had. They could easily implement the free mods out there and charge hundreds more. Fantastic value.

mio gps
Pros: I bought this in preparation for a road trip in June. So far it seems well worth the money I paid for it. Touchscreen works well, menu easy to read, and program. In my opinion it is the best bang for your buck! I received it right on schedule, and could track it all the way here. Pleasure doing business with ya NewEgg.
Cons: The only thing I can see personally is that the addresses on my street are backwards, and when I first turn it back on sometimes it takes a few minutes to find a signal... but it could be the window tint on my front window interfering with it. but still well worth the price

Quite Pleased
Pros: Fast, Cheap, and tons of POI's.
Cons: Interface takes learning. If you want simple you may want to consider Garmin.
Other Thoughts: This GPS is can be hacked to extreme depths. I watch video, listen to music, and change skins constantly. I love new toys.

Super price, super service
Pros: This is such a great product. I got it for my son and he really was impressed to have so many features for such a great price. Now I am getting one for myself! Excellent customer service and quick shipping, too.
Cons: No downside

GREAT LITTLE BOX!
Pros: Amazing device for the money! As usual NEWEGG shipped fast. Does as much as higher priced GPS. After playing with menu navaigation for one day it was easy to understand. Read the user manuals on the CD! You'll be amazed at the device capabilities. Good battery life. Nice mobile hardware too!
Cons: None. Larger display would be better.
Other Thoughts: When I took mine out of the box it thought it was in Charlotte, NC. Enter the coordinates for your city and it will work great! I just ordered another one for my daughter in San Diego

82 out of 100
Pros: 1. I love the fact that you can use it as a map or as a navigator. So if the signal is lost, you still have a map that you can pan, zoom in and out. 2. Affordable and it's not some bad, cheap product either. 3. I really liked the software on it. I mean it doesn't have that childish look that some other navigators have. 4. POI database is somewhere between OK and not so great. But, still it's very helpful. 5. Very portable, take it anywhere with you.
Cons: 1. The holder has to stick with a sticky pad onto your dashboard. So if you 2 cars you're in trouble. (or if you sell your car!) 2. Text-to-speech is pretty necessary and this unit doesn't have that. This is my first GPS, and you can live without having your pictures on there, but trust me, after using it for 5 minutes, you start wishing that it were there. The screen shows you the name of the street, but the voice only prompts you to turn left or right. 3. It takes a good 5 minutes for it to acquire satellite image and start working. So if you're in a hurry and it's been turned off, then you'll grow impatient really fast. I'm not sure if this is a problem with all other GPS units, but this definetely takes its time to initialize. 4. On the way to the San Francisco airport, it lost signal so many times that it scared me! I don't know, but to me it seemed like, the unit has trouble locating some trustworthy satellite signal. You may have to ask other users' opinions on this one.
Other Thoughts: This is my first GPS. I bought it because it's one of the few that has a map that I can pan right and left and up and down, then zoom in and out. This was the decision maker for me. But beware, this unit requires a good 1-2 hours of hard-work to fully understand its capabilities and I really mean that. I'm a computer tech and I consider my elf tech-savvy and it took me a while to understand the design of the software. But once I got it up and running, I really liked it because I think it's been designed just like the way I wanted to see it done.

Great Little Product
Pros: Very easy to use...small an portable
Cons: Could have a bigger screen
Other Thoughts: The maps are really accurate...like down to a few feet and it's been great on trips so far. Great to have really.

Excellent!!!
Pros: Completely modifiable (if you know what you're doing). Capable of custom voices, skinnable interface, playing video! and audio (with modifications). An excellent buy for the price, but even more valuable if you're a true geek wanting to modify your GPS.
Cons: No text to speech for street names, only "turn left", "turn right". Also doesn't notify you which side of the street when arriving. Will get you within 100ft, but not to the front door.
Other Thoughts: I love the Mio for it's "open" design. A WinCE based system with SD card and USB port. With a few internet searches you can find communities who will help with modification. I will be upgrading to the C520 soon, but the C220 is a nice unit also.

Average GPS for Very Good Price
Pros: Price, accuracy, and performance. Enter a zip code and a street address and this unit will definitely get u there. A large variety of points of interest are accessible from its software. A number of user defined options and set-up features are available.
Cons: I do not think the unit is intuitive to use or program. I found it difficult to program destinations without a zip code, or to enter my own points of interest for future use. At times it took 2, 3, or more tries to get it programmed to do what I wanted or expected it to. I was not comfortable navigating thru the different menu's as I got different results at different times. This was confirmed when my son took control of the unit and experienced the same issues and frustrations. I blame the User's Manual/Operating Instructions as I feel they are lacking and should be more detailed. Also: the voice volume of the unit is low, definitely not able to hear voice with car windows open or radio at medium to high volume.
Other Thoughts: This is my first GPS purchase. I bought this unit to navigate around SO-CAL during a week's vacation. Future use will be for similar personal needs. I bought it based on a friend's recommendation as he has the previous model/version and loves it. I did read the users manual and practiced using it for a week prior to vacation. I plan to continue learning and 'experimenting' with it until I master it (hopefully). Also: Purchase of unit thru NewEgg.com was fast, easy and highly recommended. Received unit in 2 days without issues.

Pros: Works great out of the box and probably the best bang for you buck for under $200. Has not failed me yet on my destinations. Fast rerouting calculations. I'm very satisfied with it. Byebye Yahoo maps.
Cons: Wish there was an option for female voice.

Fantastic GPS For The Price
Pros: I purchased this GPS because of the price and previous research and all of them have made be a happy consumer. Decent sized screen, creates the routes fast. I was at a stoplight and someone next to me asked where something was. I searched within the P.O.I. database (which isn't the biggest out there) found it. routed it and was able to relay quick directions all before the light turned green.
Cons: In Michigan it likes to think that the turnarounds (Michigan lefts) on some of the divided streets, are connecting roads and it will tell you at everyone to keep right. This happens on Telegraph for sure, some of the other road aren't so bad. Also it has tried to send me down a few no left turn, or backwards down some one way streets, to watch out.
Other Thoughts: This is my first GPS and as I've been told, be smart with it. Don't let it be your eyes. You are responsible for your own driving, the GPS just assists you in getting to your destination. And the C220 does just that.

Works Great
Pros: As others have stated, you really can't do any better for the price. It does everything I need it to, and it does it well. Once it locks on to the satellites it holds it very well. I have been indoors and the thing still can find at least 2.
Cons: The scrolling feature in the map mode is a little difficult. Every time you touch a place on the map it selects a point there, and makes it a little hard to scroll around. Sometimes it takes a little long to lock on for the first time that day, but after that it's very quick.
Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with this purchase, and would highly recommend it. There is no reason to spend hundreds extra for a name brand with the same screen size.

Good for the money
Pros: I first tried a Nextar GPS, which was terrible. I had to reset it about 10x within 24 hours because it kept locking up. The maps were worse than the Mio and the routing was terrible. Then I purchased the Mio C220. It runs about 5x faster than the Nextar (which was more expensive). The Nextar couldn't find a route from my house to my parents and said no streets existed between our two houses. The Mio does it pretty well - not perfect, but pretty close. It works fine in the heavy FL rains, unlike the Nextar. The screen is dim in sunlight but is still somewhat visible. The Nextar screen wasn't visible at all. Most LCD screens are going to be virtually impossible to see in direct sunlight since they're backlit. On the Mio, bump the backlight all the way to the top and find a semi-shady spot to look at it. The mapping software is nice and has lots of features but isn't perfect and is defintely a bit confusing at times. Battery life is exceptional. I can easily use it 4+ hrs.
Cons: The maps are pretty good except it does get exact placement of addresses a little wrong. Last night, it didn't tell me I'd arrived until I'd driven past where I was going. The on-screen zoom and 3-d adjust icons are flakey. It thinks I'm clicking on the map and not the button. This might be due mostly to the small screen. There's no way to change the batteries yourself in this unit (or most other GPS's of this type). I don't know what's inside if you remove all the screws, but there's no battery door. (Think about how Apple charges $99 plus shipping for an iPod battery replacement.) Also, the 3-d modes are a bit frustrating sometimes. I prefer an overhead 2-d view. But the Mio insists on tilting the map at times and making it 3-d even though I have the 3-d option turned off in the settings. There's also no TTS (text to speech) on the Mio. It won't say street names. But don't let that scare you off. On the Nextar, it mispronounced almost every street around my house.
Other Thoughts: The big plus with this unit is that the directories can be viewed from a PC with the right software. I was able to take the stock voices off of it, run them through some audio software to increase their volume, then load them back on it. Out of the box, the voices are quite low. With this little mod, they're plenty loud and can be heard fine in a car at high speed, even with rain beating on the roof. Some of the message boards explain how to run standard Windows CE software on it- DivX player, MP3 players, notepads, etc.
Of the GPS's I've tried, you just can't get a better one at this price point.

Best you can get
Pros: For under around 200 this is the absolute best. Other brands in this price lvl do not have this amount of functionality and ease of use. unless you want to spend over $500 you will not find one better.
Cons: Doesn't get you to the doorstep. Also no built in beverage holder.
Other Thoughts: If you need a GPS for business or just for road trips this is the one to buy. But don't expect it to drive for you; stay alert and watch the road.

Great little unit!
Pros: Small, lightweight, has a built in battery, and multiple modes depending on if you are walking or driving. The 3d mode is nice and updates fast. I would buy this again without any second thoughts. Much more features than most for this price range.
Cons: Like others have said, the max. volume is not that loud, but then again if you really needed it louder to could always hook it up via headphone out to RCA cable to your car stereo.
Other Thoughts: OK, so what the person before means about the unit crashing is not totally wrong. This system has not crashed on me while giving directions or using it in any way except one. This unit will sometimes crash when you press and hold down the power button to TOTALLY TURN OFF the unit. If you press and release the power button it goes into a sleep mode without any issues.
NOT and issue IMHO... and very easily overlooked with the over great features this unit has to offer.

Good bang for the buck
Pros: Price & ease of use. Like most GPS recievers this will put you on a big road. If you know a faster small road this GPS will recalculate quickly to the next best way.
Cons: This unit can be a little hard to hear - not the best choice for a convertable.
Other Thoughts: For less than $200 there is nothing that can touch this GPS. If there is a weakness, I don't see it.

Amazing Value
Pros: Lightning fast off route recalculation. Free updates!!! Runs WinCE5.0, Can be HACKED via a small script on a SD card to allow it to act as an MP3/Video player. Very accurate maps from the OGL map library.
Cons: screen is a little faint in sun light. could have a louder speaker
Other Thoughts: the guy who posted that the unit SUCKED and claimed it crashed daily...needs to get his software updated, I guess. I have had NONE of the problems he described in his review. I would put this unit against any $400-$500 unit any day.

Pros: The map is very accurate. Recaculation is fastest. The interface is user frendly and very easy to use. It looks good, too.
Cons: The screen is not crearly visible in bright sun light. The bettery is not last long enough.
Other Thoughts: Overall, it is worth of every pennies.

Absolutely Horrible
Pros: The user interface is visually appealing. Touchscreen is nice.
Cons: Runs WindowsCE and crashes daily. Map is inaccurate - has roads that don't exist, doesn't have some roads. Thinks some dead-end roads don't dead end. Directions are often simply wrong - sends you a long roundabout way.
Other Thoughts: Just awful. Visually appealing interface, but functionality is terrible. No international maps available. Company said they don't plan to offer any or to update US map. Seems to simply be a turnkey GPS for quick profit by the company.
