Honest PS3 Review
Pros: I have the 80GB ps3 but its the same hardware as the 80gb beside the HDD. Anyway some thing that make this system shine is blu-ray, and its amazing upscaling dvd player. The normal dvd's are upscaled so well on the ps3 it looks like its a true hd movie. The system also has free online which is good. Ive had a 60gb ps3 since launch and i also have this one and none of them have died on me. So there build quailty is great. Games being on a 50gb disc help alot when it comes to large games. All ps3's play PS1 games and alot of people don't know that. HDMI is much cleaner and vibrant then my 360 HDMI output. Since this system was built with HDMI in mind its the clear winner. Has some must have games like Uncharted 1/2 which is 2 games i think jusifys buying a ps3. MAG which is gonna be a COD killer is also exclusive. It also has MGS4 which is a great game. This and all other ps3's now come with dualshock3 controllers. Trophies are like 360 achievements but look better.
Cons: The things i dont like is mainly with the Free Online, since its free you dont get any voice messageing and no voice party or private chat which is a real bummer. The controller doesnt have a port for mics and the system is made for bluetooth mics but i find bluetooth mics very annoying and bad quailty. When playing online you will know what i mean because it usally really bad sounding mics. You can use any USB mic and thats what i do but this is annoying since the cord must goto the system itself. Another thing i dont like is how they removed ps2 playback from ps3. While i never use it on my 60gb ps3 its still nice to have? Often times 3rd party games are just ported from 360 to ps3 making the 360 version usally better. Online is left 100% up to the developers so you get sloppy voice chat and unstable servers sometime.
Other Thoughts: With all that said the PS3 is a must have system and have some exclusives that will blow your mind. Games like MAG which have 256 players and no lag is making the online for ps3 look much better. The missing memory card reader and the extra 2 usb slots dont effect the system at all. Ive never used more then 2 usb ports on my old 60gb ps3 that has 4. The card reader are also not needed and seemed pointless. Gave this a 4 out of 5 just because the online isnt as good as it should be. A must buy system.

Worth it
Pros: The prices on the PS3 fell enough to make it feel like a steal. The PS3's hardware won't go obsolete anytime soon, they are saying that developers still have another 2 years before they will max out the system's capabilities. I like the feel of the console a lot better than the 360, to me the ps3 seems like a more finely tuned.
Cons: Because multiplayer for games is free, it doesn't seem to be as developed as many of the 360 online games.

Great Deal
Pros: *Blu-ray player *Free online *Fairly solid reliability (the slim is too new to tell) *Recognizes some PC controllers
Cons: *Generates a lot of heat *Somewhat long loading times *No HDMI or network cable included *PSN charges tax for downloadable games (unsure about downloadable content)
Other Thoughts: I own an Xbox 360 and recently bought this bundle to play Uncharted 2. Overall, the PS3 is not really head and shoulders above the competition in terms of performance. I was expecting to be blown away, but ended up underwhelmed. I compared both exclusive and multiplatform games and honestly, both are better than the other in subtle ways. The PS3 doesn't anti-alias as well as the 360, however the PS3's shadows look smoother than the 360 (look at Batman's shadow on the ground in Arkham Asylum). As for issues such as texture pop-in, it is present in both systems.
I am happy to own a PS3, but it was only for the exclusives such as Killzone 2; which has great animation and a smooth framerate, but the graphics are not as amazing as I thought it'd be. Perhaps viewing what PC's can do graphically has also ruined the "wow" factor that both the PS3 and 360 offer. In general, I wouldn't recommend one over the other. Honestly, exclusives should be the deciding factor in my opinion.

Refering to Decent System, not enough killer titles
Pros: Actually, in a differennt perspective, CPU on PS3 (cell processor) and our general pc are run differently.
In other word (to make this simple) for example, PS3 Cell Runs J++ and PC CPU use C++, 2 CPU are coded instructed to compute differently. If in general comparison, XBOX 360 runs on 3 Cores (Triple core at 3.2GHZ) PS3 are run at 8 SPES, 1 for reserved, in other word, PS3 runs at 8 Core at 3.2ghz Since is not really "8 Core" but coder can use each SPE to a specific usage such as 1 SPE use for Moving character, 1 SPE use for Rendering, 1 SPE use for AI, etc. On Xbox, you can't really do that, all 3 Core are compute simultaneously while PS3 can compute individually in each specific core
PS3 Memory use 256mb XDR remember, may seem low, but this 256mb is acted like 4GB shared memory, XDR memory are fast, you can see article about it
Although Graphic is generally not better, but it does have PhysX included in the PS3 using 7 series architecture (Continue in Other thoughts)
Cons: See Other Thought
Other Thoughts: Remember, This Technology was made in 2000-2005 (Before the official release, and was in a prototype testing phase)
Is remarkable that IBM and Sony able to make an 8 Cores CPU before even i7 or Phenom I or II came out with Quad Core. So you have to look from the day they make this, not compare to present time. Of cause now better CPU better GPU and better Spec on PC, but in 2005, this was a most powerful machine ever builded with the current technology they had for cosumer use.
Back then This kind of technology and feature it had for $599? Is a bargin, imagine you get 8 cores 5 years ago, this itself is aready cost you $1000+
Blue Ray Rom itself 5 years ago $600+ Cell Processor if purchaseable 5 years ago $1000+ XDR Rams if purchaseable 5 years ago, $300
$1900+ for the price of $599? And don't blame Sony for getting rid of BC, cuz is the cosumer fault about too expenive for PS3 when itself is almost worth $1000+
Right now Blu-Rom still around $100.

Decent System, not enough killer titles
Pros: Nice looking system on any entertainment console. Plays Blu-Ray movies. Decent graphics at most times, great in others. Decent library of games. Classic PS controller.
Cons: If your a fanboy of graphics and power like Pr0tOCoL is, then you will hate what I am about to say. Most of the games on the 360 that are also on PS3 look better then PS3 version. Bayonetta, for example, RE5, and even Street Fighter 4. Jaggies in todays generation? No deal. The Ps3 is supposed to be the monster machine, but has yet to amaze me, and most others. I spend most of my time playing my Wii and 360 than PS3. This will change when GOW 3, and Trico comes out, but until then...
Other Thoughts: Pr0tOCoL, look you are the main definition of fanboy. First off, it does not matter if the PS3's Blu-Ray discs hold 50GB, cause so far it has NOT made a difference AT ALL aside from holding a whole game on one disc instead of three. Also, the PS3 is NOT more powerful then Phenom II X4's or i7. Are you mad? My PC which is an AMD Phenom II X4 940, with 8GBram, dual 9800GTX+ Blows the PS3 out of the water. Playing anything on PC/PS3/360 looks leagues better on my PC in DX10. Now with DX11, it will be even better.

awesome
Pros: Simply the best console on the market. Still pricey, but hey, you get a web browser, a media center, printer support, built in wifi, blu-ray player, a gaming machine, and an entire computer for $350. Yes, an entire computer, for those that are unaware, this model (not the new slim version) can indeed install a LINUX-based OS, I've seen Windows installed before, but you can do that at your own discretion. But, for what this console includes out-of-the-box, you can't go wrong. Sure beats paying almost $100 for a 360 wireless adapter. Blu-ray discs can hold 50GB of data, meaning games will and are much more in-depth and immerse. Games will also be much more massive, with open-ended setups, and deep, captivating story-lines because of the extra amount of data able to be put on a single disc.
Cons: None to speak of at the moment, I've never had any issues with it so far. Does get warmer than the 360, but hey, with the power packed inside a relatively small package, you'd expect it to put off some heat. The heat produced is no danger to the system though. As it's been stated to run 24/7 with no ill-effects (though not recommended by Sony to do so).
NOTE: I do not own this console yet (ordered one 10 minutes ago) but my brother does have one, and I've played it countless times in the 2 years he's owned it. So I do know what I'm talking about in this review.
Other Thoughts: To "the triple play" - the 360 is not more graphically powerful. The PS3's nVidia RSX engine is the ONLY console graphics engine capable of rendering 4-D graphics (you know, those used on CAT Scans and MRI's) The PS3 is far more powerful than most computers on the market today. In reality, the PS3's Cell processor is more powerful than a single Core i7 or Phenom II X4. The graphics engine built into this is again far more powerful than the 360's ATI engine. Also, games do indeed look and play MUCH better on the PS3 than on the 360. For an example, I'll use Madden 10. I run into laggy moments on the 360, something I haven't had on the PS3 one time. Also, every game I've played on PS3 that is also on the 360 has looked much better, with much more detail to specifics than the 360 does. Fight Night has looked much more realistic on the PS3 to me than it does on the 360. Simply put, for 350 you can't go wrong with a PS3, especially when you consider the full spectrum of what you're getting.

PlayStation 3
Pros: Beautiful gloss finish kept me starring at it for about 5 minutes when I opened the box. Sturdy build and runs cooler than its predecessors. Best Blu-Ray player on the market! Uncharted is one of the best games on PS3 making this a great buy with the 160GB.
Free online play
Better exclusives on PS3 imo
Cons: Expensive Games are slow to be released.
Other Thoughts: If you have to have the gloss finish get this model. Otherwise save some cash and get the slim.
Epic games are on their way! GoWIII 2010, GT5 2010

About PS 3
Pros: Great realiability and flexability.
Cons: Fanboy hatred.
Other Thoughts: 360 is graphically more powerful. The future of the environments will not solely be graphics though. This is were the PS3 will stand out. When you walk on mushy ground or shoot different types of materials now they have generic effects. In the future the Cell (which has 2 or more times the power of 360's core) will give devs the ability to make more realistic effects with games. This is where the 360 will fall behind. So the 360 will be prettier ( a little bit anyway) and the PS3 will give you a more true to life reactive environment. So you decide on the difference based on the minor details or the future of gaming capabilities. Either way you go (if you follow your true desires), you will not be disappointed.

Great system, mediocre game
Pros: Excellent system. Great graphics and plenty of great games. Wifi and 160 gig storage are two big pluses; however, the 160gigs has nothing to do with how smooth and fast the system runs so ignore that from the previous commenter. Blu-ray movies are phenom on 1080p monitors/tvs. I definitely recommend this over the 360, especially now that the price has dropped.
Cons: In my opinion Drake's Fortune was mediocre at best. Some of the game play was good and it looked good, but it left something to be desired. I've bought 13 or 14 games since owning the system and Drake's was the only one I definitely knew I would never play again, thus was the first and only game to be traded in, even for the ridiculously low trade-in return. Consider the game a throw in and not an incentive to buy the bigger system. No cons for the system except that it was $100 more expensive when I bought it. Sony compensation? Would be nice.
Other Thoughts: If you plan on watching many DVDs/Blu-Rays I would invest in a remote. Buy the Sony, not an off-brand, trust me, it's worth it.

NICE!
Pros: WOW, so much to say. You save ALLOT comparing to buying it from Sony or a store. The UnCharted: Drakes Fortune looks weird but it's one of the best games I ever played. 160 GB is allot of memory, makes the whole system run smoother and faster. Built in WI-Fi that finds your wireless uplink in seconds. And if you ever get bored, get some demos on the playstation network or make some friends in Playstation Home, then play or talk online with them. And ALLOT more! Obviously the best system, best games, most memory, and BEST graphics!
Cons: HAH! none
Other Thoughts: Buy a cooler for 15-20 dollars on newegg, cheap and helpful.

Awesome system/bundle
Pros: I was torn between the PS3 and 360, and now I know I have made the right choice. Just the fact that it comes with built in wifi and BD support is great. The games and BD are drop-dead gorgeous.
Cons: I am tempted to say price, but when you look at the fact it comes with built in wifi, and the 360 adapter is $100 it works out.
Other Thoughts: Don't ignore the game bundle. Uncharted is amazing, I didn't think I would like it but when I finally popped it in I was astounded. One of the best games I have ever played.

Was bought for me and love it
Pros: great performance, graphics and a advanced 8 processor cell broadband engine cpu beats everything on the market. and love the fact that i was able to upgrade to a 500Gb Hdd (hard drive)
Cons: If in a hot room it runs a little hot. if u have yours in a hot room beware heat also kills the fan. run a fan test by turning off the ps3 then turn off the power switch in the back of the ps3 hold gown the eject button and turn the switch on the ps3 should power on with the black screen the fan will spin up for full speed and sound like a hair dryer (it also self removes most dust build up from the inside) if your ps3 is silent u have a dead fan. then turn it off by the rear power switch turn it back on using the original touch power button. oh and the fan test will automatically eject the disk do not put it back in during the fan test.
Other Thoughts: y is linux only supported and only use a max of 256Mb of ram and can only use 2 of the 8 processors? windows xp will run better

I am happy with it.
Pros: I personally enjoy the game selection for the ps3, Drake's fortune is pretty fun.
I am mostly pleased with the 160GB hard drive trust me if you plan on playing this more then 2 or 3 times a week it will fill up faster then you would imagine.
Cons: I don't like how you spend that much money and they don't supply HDMI cables, But i found a great deal on newegg :).
Other Thoughts: I don't understand how people put down that its a con that it gets dusty (mine is fine) but you guys must live under a couch.

8.5/10
Pros: It plays Blu-Rays. Has built in wi-fi The best graphics processing power available in a console. Great price compared to a computer of relative capabilities Great price compared to you-know-what (factoring in wi-fi and hdd space) Keyboard/mouse support Free online play Allows use of any notebook hdd Allows alternate os
Cons: It's library only contains a dozen good games No included microphone No included hdmi cable PSN lacks compared to it's equivalent on you-know-what Sluggish in-game console menu No ps2 support Many large updates (even for dlc)
Other Thoughts: I own all 3 major systems, and this is absolutely worth the price, but only if you own a hdtv.

a must have
Pros: -best graphics available -great games and soon-to-be-released games -BLU RAY -great controller -free online and built in wi-fi
Cons: the built in wi-fi seems to go in and out on me... but that might just be my out of date modem...
demos arent as good at showing the real game as the 360's
Other Thoughts: when i first got my ps3 i didnt have any games so i just downloaded a bunch of demos. if i had judged the ps3 entirely on the demos i would have given it maybe a 3/5. for some reason, 360's are just better than PS3's. idk y. but then i got littlebigplanet and infamous and my opinion of the ps3 changed entirely. i absolutly love it, and i still have countless other games to buy that look epic. plus i can finally play blu-ray, which looks great in 1080p. if you have a 1080p tv and love video games, id definatly recomend this.

Dust suka
Pros: Very nice graphics fast system. HDMI Blue Ray plays good no problems. Good kids game included.
Cons: Dust trap! Its like magnet for dust. Better outside than inside I believe its how it works. No remote! for the money should be already inside.
Other Thoughts: I play Blue Ray & DVD on my W500 proyector not much of a console gamer but is very nice and I love it.

I own two PS3's and couldn't be happier
Pros: Xbox 360 fanboy complaint: Quality of online gameplay - PS3 is free, 360 is like $10/month. Over a single year that's $120/yr (This is over and above the base cost of the PS3, is the 360 online experience really that much better?) General Gamer complaint: Backwards compatibility- Yes it is nice, but hey I can't play alot of older games on the PC either. Let's face it technology moves forward and we as a gaming community have to move forward as well. Personal comment: File sharing- Let's see 360 owners burn a music disk to their hardrive then copy the files to a thumbdrive to take with them and listen wherever they want to. The current 360 will not let you do it. Personal Comment: Overall cost of ownership- All of the features included with a PS3 far outway the cost of owning a comparable Xbox 360.
Cons: The PS3 web browser could be a little more user friendly. Setting up a true stereo headset with a mic is much harder than it should be. Blue tooth headsets work great, but I would like to be able to immerse myself into whatever game I'm playing.
Other Thoughts: For those wondering, I have played around with the Xbox 360. My brother-in-law and nehpew both own one. So I am familiar with the 360, so don't try to tell me that the 360 graphics are better than the PS3... because they are not.

Meh
Pros: Blue Ray and games in one unit
Cons: Online blows! Yes PSN is free compared to 360 but it shows. 360 has better exclusive titles and quite frankly comparing games back to back 360 looks better as well.
Other Thoughts: If you want a blue ray at least you'll get a game unit as well but seriously if you are a multiplayer gamer you will be dissapointed.

Awesome System
Pros: BlueRay player, Wifi, Free online play, Instal other OS, Great Media Center. Playing games on a 100" 1080p HD Projector is the only way to get immersed into PS3 games.
Cons: Some say that the PS3 is a dust and finger print magnet. I had my unit for over a year and only time I had to touch to casing was to take it out of the box and upgrade the hard drive from 40GB to 320GB. I never use the buttons on front of the unit, never had to.

Absolutely Love the PS3
Pros: I absolutely love Sony’s current console generation. I own the older 80GB PS3 (the one that has software emulation). Sony has definitely had some good software updates. I've never had any problems with them and I try to use all the features that the PS3 offers as most of them are really cool. I love that I can expand the HDD space with any laptop HDD w/o voiding any warranties. I currently have a 500GB. I wanted the 7200 RPM but availability was so limited at the time. Haven't been able to successfully install Linux yet, but I haven't really tried that hard. The fact that it is possible is pretty cool. Let's not be coil, but when the PS3 first came out game selection just sucked, however it has definitely gotten a lot better, with more to come. In terms of what I bought it for (gaming) it definitely performs very well.
Cons: What I don't like that Sony has decided is how they manage accounts. If you have a coop or multiplayer game each person needs to have their own PS3 (with the exception of a few select games). For example in COD WaW you can only have 2 people per PlayStation on N@zi zombies (if you wanna play 4 player then you either have to have 2 PS3's on a LAN or 4 PS3's over the internet) however you can only have 1 person signed in. So the other player just reads as "player 2." That player cannot sign in and any trophies that they unlock are just unlocked for the person signed in, not the person who got them. The 360 is nice because I can sign in with my buddies and play gears with 4 people over the internet with 2 consoles. And all the achievements I get during game play get recorded under my account (not "player 2"). Hopefully Sony addresses this.
Other Thoughts: I used to be a Nintendo fan, but after the Wii came out I just completely gave up on them (real gamers know the feeling). When my brother bought a PS3 and brought it home over the holidays it only took me a few days to want one for myself (and that is when the software and game selection was pretty poor). There is definitely a lot of potential with this system. What is really great is that I didn't just get a PS3 but I also got a PS1, PS2 (for the most part), DVD/BD player, and complete media center. I have access to all three systems in my house and I play the 360 quite frequently, but I just personally like the PS3 best.

SONY PS3
Pros: Stylish, Blu-Ray, best graphics of this gen of consoles. I have the 60GB version model CECHA01 which is the one that has the Emotion engine of the slim PS2, this make this machine 100% backward compatible. I love this thing, it raplce your old consoles, DVD player and give u the bonus of a blu-ray can't go wrong with that. The console is not as noisy as the 360 and it runs way cooler also. I have the 3 machines (360, WII and PS3) and I have to admit the PS3 is my favorite. When I first got it I was a little dessapointed for the lack of software for it besides I did not liked the Sixaxis controller, but since, sony have launch the Dual Shock 3 controller and mutiple software updates and more games that has made the machine nearly perfect. I also love the fact that I can use any kind of laptop hard drive on it not having to buy some expensive exclusive stuff (bad MICROSOFT VERY BAD) I have a PS3 with 320 GB HD in my living room and another 60GB PS3 in my room just love this thing.
Cons: The piano black color is a finger prints magnet, and if you clean it up with a normal rag you just get a lot of scratches over your console. Collects dust like nothing else in your living room! The following models are not backward compatible -CECHGxx (40GB) -CECHHxx (40GB) -CECHKxx (80GB) -CECHPxx (160GB) -CECHCxx (60GB SOFTWARE EMULATION ONLY) -CECHExx (80GB SOFTWARE EMULATION ONLY)
I'm really fortunate the have 2 of the firt ones that came out which have the PS2 Emotion engine inside =)
Other Thoughts: I just hope Sony anounce they making every console backward compatible in this year E3 (one can only hope) =)

Runs hot....
Pros: Incredible picture quality and dvd upscaling. quiet running but I'd swap the sound produced with better cooling.
Cons: Had just over 1 month. Locked/froze 2 dozen times or more now. Even while watching a DVD movie. I must put a floor fan on it just to keep it running cool enough to play anything. I don't keep the console in an enclosure of any kind but it still runs very hot.... I'm returning this unit for a replacement. I hope I just got a bum one.....
Other Thoughts: NEWEGG ROCKS!! as usual..... NO HASSLES and ultra quick shipping.

SonyStyle
Pros: SonyStyle has a 100$ credit when you purchase this system through there site. You have to get a Playstation credit card but hell you get 12 months 0% apr. plus you get a second controller for free. Saving you about $150. Plus you get 5 points for every 1$ spent at sonystyle which gives you a bunch of free things.
Cons: This thing is big
Other Thoughts: Great system

PS3 Is a great system after all..
Pros: Well I had been a loyal Sega fan for long long time since the dawn of Sega Genisis, and when Dreamcast went south I became heartbroken; Also when Sega Co. declared no more consoles to be produced it was even more saddening. I had to see which console I liked and took me about 6 years after Sega's decent to find one. I didn't really like Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft so it was a tough choice at the time. I first got an Xbox 360 but had some problems with it that I don't want to get into. I finally took a strange turn toward's the Sony realm by getting a 60 GB PS3, however by the time I decided to get one they were all sold out and not being produced anymore. So I went to this shop where they still had a new ones and bought it from them. I was lucky to get it, I never had a significant problem with the system at all. Unlike the Xbox 360 I owned for just a 7 months, the PS3 hasn't gave me any severe problems. I like the free online feature; especially the Blueray.
Cons: Like most people said before about being online, you get kicked out at random and re-signed in sometimes. There is not many PS3 games available on the market, as I suspected, not a lot to download as in games either. System loads a little faster than my Xbox 360 did with games but I think it was because my Xbox was slowly becoming defective, not a big deal I guess, I am still not a fan of Sony but PS3 is allright with me.
Other Thoughts: Overall, I think I made a good wise decision, I did spend a lot for this console but I guess it is worth it. I can play most PS2, PS1 titles, these old titles I never looked into until now to see what the advantages were for owning a PSOne or a PS2 years back. I never, never had any problems, it is a stable console, and sometimes I worry the drive or something will go out but it never does, I can keep it on for 24 hours which I never could with my Dreamcast, something I couldn't do with my Xbox 360 when I use to have it. I wish Sony didn't make it though lol, oh well they did a good job with PS3, and I think I found a console to call home to. I give the PS3 (8.9/10). Happy 9th Dreamcast!

Power for no ends!
Pros: Powerful gaming experience. Has the potential to go further than any console has before. Integrates features that other console require optional expenses to get (hence u already paid for it and its integrated not some rubbish u have to install or leave handing out of it). The Blu-Ray player is worth the added expense as well. The ability to put an OS on is a plus but most will find it useless. The comparable load times of multi-console games is undeniably better on the PS3. Graphics on this thing are becoming better and better as the engines begin to utilize the power of the system. I purchased a backwards compatible system and have no problems with any of my games.
Cons: Where are the many games we are used to with PS's of the past. I can't believe the slow developement or lack of interest in this platform. Network errors seem common place as you are logged out then back in. Not detrimental if you are offline but even then it is annoying to see that while you are playing a game. This thing can collect dust better than a vacuum. Would have liked to seen E-Sata for file swapping speed. USB drives and flash are slow. Internet browser is poor at best, you can use it but it's not optimized for widescreen which is nonsense with HD platform. HDMI should be included and maybe even an optical audio cable.
Other Thoughts: I'm no fanboy as many tend to be so I say this without prejudice. You can buy the MS console or this and have some fun. I believe the future will give this console the edge. Also the Blu-Ray built in can save you as well. If you are not a hard core gamer this can be good here as well due to the lack of games not being your hitch. If you want it all now then don't buy this as it will leave you wanting more. Maybe tomorrow! Plays Elder Scrolls IV with little hitch (mostly code error), this is a big and vast game so the loads should be expected. Hard drive upgrades are promising. Avoid paying an arm and leg for the big drive ones unless other features are your desire as you can swap these with relative affordability. The WD Scorpio Black is looking fantastic and should really pump the load and save times (fyi-have not done this yet). Also if you are like me and want more than pretty used game purchases and rentals may save you some $ and heartache.

Awesome Deal on Open Box
Pros: Everything you could ask for in a home gaming system.
- Still the best blu-ray player on the market. Supports blu-ray 2.0, 7.1 dts, bla bla...for blu-rays...it's the best - Games are awesome, look great - Download-able content, fun games, playstation home is fun - Free online gaming - Awesome looking home screen, wallpapers and themes - If you are reading reviews on new egg to determine if this system is for you, you are nuts. - Drakes fortune is a great game, probably one of the best looking games on the ps3. You can beat in about 18hrs. It's a cenematic adventure where most of the gameplay lies in killing bad dudes. I hated the targeting system that were used for combat. The puzzel solving and climbing around aspects are fun and tomb raider-esque. But there is no replay value to this game. Beat it, sell it to EB-games.
Cons: - The cons for the game are listed above. - The cons for the system are less obvious. Supposedly the graphics aren't as good as the 360. I don't know if I see a difference - The online play is weak because hardly anyone has headsets(speaking to others is my favorite part of online play). I'm told the headsetless users is more because I've been playing team fortress which is an older less hipper game. So I just bought Killzone 2 and Resistance 2, so hopefully I see more interaction on those. -Logoffs and disconnects happen often with the online play because it's free and it's poorly run. -No one uses playstation home and they've made so you can't use your headset on there anymore.
Other Thoughts: I got this from NE, 363 shipped open box was at my place in 3 days. It worked perfectly, it came with everything. It was a great deal. I suggest you wait for a similar one. The ps3 is still covered under a full factory warranty, with the deal. There is really no risk, just a savings. Also, grab some hdmi cables from your favorite online retailer for cheap.

Buy the Warrenty...
Pros: I got to play Drake's Fortune and passed it in about 4 days. A decent game, I would compare it to Prince of Persia that I have played over at a Friend house. My wife and I also had some fun playing Rockband, the only game she has ever been interested in. It seems to be a good system when it works.
Cons: This is my 6th day of ownership. It is now broken with a "Red screen of death". It says "A Serious Error has occurred please contact Tech Support." All I did was attempt to watch a DVD and it died on me after about 2 minutes of previews. Thank goodness that I purchased the extended plan on this.
Other Thoughts: I spent a considerable amount of money on extra games and accessories after debating for weeks about what platform to get. I got the Playstation because I have 4 friends who have one and when I get other games I can battle them online. My advice would be that if you have a large purchase, buy the extended warrenty. Now I get to find out how well Newegg's customer service is. I hear it is excellent.

Well worth it if you look hard enough
Pros: The controllers connect properly (unless you are a noob)
Included Uncharted game is actually well worth a play through, and it has some pretty humorous dialogue at points. Downloadable pain game is what it is. Retail on these two is around 60-70 for the pair so you aren't paying very much for the hard drive upgrade if these are of any value to you.
You can stream media to any capable device in your house.
Online experience is free (and you get MORE than you pay for in this case)
Bluetooth (soon to be capable with Harmony remotes)
Easily upgradable
Good blu-ray player
Doesn't trip circuit unless you have wiring problems in your house already. (I have used it and t.v. plugged in to same outlet with no problems for full hour of gaming just to verify this in response to a 1 egg post)
Cons: I'm spoiled on Newegg, but it's not a Sony Rewards authorized Sony retailer.
Currently dell has the best deal on this bundle if you search around for the %20 off promo code. You can get it for 430 shipped, just like me.
Other Thoughts: Look into the current Sony credit card/ playstation card offers to get an even better deal on top of a good deal for a new PS3
New games will be pushing the PS3 far beyond the 360 -KillZone 2 -Heavenly Sword -GoWar III -and the elusive new Final Fantasy

SONY Playstation 3 160GB Bundle w/Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Retail
Pros: Arrived in great shape. Shipping took one day longer than expected but worth the savings. UPS does not deliver on Saturday for regular shipping.
Cons: It would be nice to have the warranty/ extended warranty information included with the shipment.

awesome
Pros: its great, got KZ2 for it and it looks almost exactly like its all CG. its quiet, and has alot of memory. the controller has a great range. very user compatible. you can access the internet on there unlike 360.
Cons: you can only install linux, wish you could install java or something else along with linux
Other Thoughts: all the good games are coming out now, this would be a good time to get a PS3 even though the market is bad. PS3 is well worth the $500

Disappointing.
Pros: It looks pretty cool, I like the disc ejection button. Also provides good heat in the winter.
Cons: Everything else, the disc jammed in the console, the controllers won't connect correctly. One controller's joystick is stuck slightly right. has tripped my circuit breaker numerous times even though it is the only unit plugged into the outlet, have tried multiple outlets, even a friends does the same everytime. And above all else, has no attractive games worth buying at $70 a pop.
Other Thoughts: VERY EXPENSIVE.

Really impressive gaming system
Pros: There are many pro's to this system. First it is the most powerful gaming console on the market. I took it out of the box, hooked it up to my tv, attached my internet cable, and within 5 minutes I was watching videos on YouTube! Already I was amazed, but then I popped in the game which came with this bundle. Again, I was very impressed. The graphics were unlike anything I've ever seen on any game console other than on today's high end PC's. It makes me very excited to see what future games will come out using this amazing technology. The game is similar to Tomb Raider, but with much nicer graphics and a male in the leading role.
It plays like a dream... I didnt notice one millisecond of lag, or any glitches while playing.
I love being able to store everything right on the HDD, with no memory chips, and the wireless controller is also a plus as I can sit back on my couch and not worry about someone tripping over the chord.
Looks wise, the ps3 is very sleek. A+
Cons: The web content looks a bit low resolution on my tv screen, but that may be fixable, or just my tv itself.
The controller wire could be a lot longer, but the option to detach it and play wirelessly makes up for it somewhat.
Have owned it for 2 days and so far no complaints other than this :)

Really Great
Pros: Really High graphics, better graphics are commin out with the next gen games of 2009
it even goes on the internet and lets u play the games online for free.
Cons: Havent made blue ray quality games yet but thats only due to them pretty much coppying the multiplatform games.
cant order a pizza for you........ wait you can order pizza online with it >:D
they do need to add a hdmi cable with the consoul.
Other Thoughts: you gotta remember that it has a blue ray player which is valued at $250 so really the system is also $250 but your adding a built in one

Just Maybe The Review you Need
Pros: Great System, no doubt, it will eventually be the best there is till the 8th Generation of Consoles are released. (The only problem I can see is just how far off those 8th generation consoles are)
2009 promises to be great in terms of games, because finally we may see game developers beating the learning curve required to make games for the PS3.
Cons: The amount of great games on the PS3 is abysmal....many of them are multiplatform games which can be had with the very same visual clarity found on a cheaper system - don't shirk this I've seen it and it's not that much better.
However, 2009 promises this to no longer be an issue. The reason I mention this as a con is because Killzone 2 and many others are not yet released.
It would be nice to see the PSN allow you talk to those who are on your friends list but not necessarily on the same game...a feature that's currently missing and needs to be added.
Probably the worst con of all, is the lack of backward compatibility...I am willing to accept that I must get new controllers...but now I can't play my PS2 games on the PS3...this is immensely stupid. It was there in the past initial releases of the PS3 *but truth be told the emulation software left much to be desired*.
I really wanted a console that would upconvert my PS2 games to 1080p.
Other Thoughts: Financial Suicide...I'll explain. Currently the BD player is too slow, much slower than a dvd player...as such large quantities of data are really slow to transfer, making for long loading times. PS3 gets around this by installing the data without your choice in the matter. This fine but remember this. Once games get to take up more data, this will be a problem.
Either way you'll be either getting more HDDs, unlikely. Or you'll be required to buy a faster BD player. Which is more likely (because it is unlikely they will never fill up a 25gig disk with this generation of consoles). Kinda of a raw deal considering that the graphics currently aren't better than an XBox360. I'll be more clear, it's better, but it's not 200+ dollars better. Again though 2009 may see these graphic complaints as a non-issue.
If the economy isn't hurting you as much as others. You will like how the PS3 is going to look this year.

Replying to Clark
Pros: See Other Thoughts
Cons: See Other Thoughts
Other Thoughts: I'm sorry, but i need to add egg boost on 160GB PS3 review. You rated 1 egg cuz of No hdmi cable????? you gonna be kidding me. Also, PS3 had many great games such as GTA, MGS3, GT5, Resistance 2 and soon to be release hyped game FFXIII. I don't know what you talking about no good games for PS3. Did i mention Online experiance is free also? What do you expect from free online play? Sony are still working and improving on PSN right now. You can watch Movie in any formats now, Adobe Flash compatible and much much more. Don't buy the system if PS3 game selection is not a choice for you. Don't rate because base on your opinion.

Awesome Console
Pros: Superb Graphical Capabilities, Blue Ray Player, Good Selection of Exclusive Games, Super Silent Operation, Cool Looks
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: This console rocks. With PS3 you are assured that your console wont become obsolete in a year, and with host of exclusive and cross platform games releasing in 2009 the future sure looks bright for PS3.

Too expensive
Pros: Free game.
Cons: HDMI cable still not included. I paid over $500 for a next gen system and a $7 HDMI cable is not included? The included game reminded me of Tomb Raider. It was fun at first but got old real quick.
Other Thoughts: The online experience could greatly be improved. It was hard to navigate thru the menu and find my way around. It definately needs plenty of improvement. There are no must have games for this console that would justify buying it at the moment. Even as a bluray player, it's still too expensive. You can get a stand alone player for a buck sixty nowadays. I'm still thinking about returning this and getting the other white console that has all the great games and online experience. With the money left over I think I'll upgrade the gpu of my pc.

If you can afford it...
Pros: The price may make people back away, but overall it's a good purchase. The game should cost about $20 considering it should be a "Greatest hit" title, and the extra 80GB help if you have a lot of music and video in addition to game saves. The extra HD space is worth it considering most PS3 games now are required to be installed onto the hard drive (mainly because of the slow Bluray read speeds at 2X. My 20GB version filled up after 7 games (had no video or music files either) until I finally replaced the hard drive with a bigger 160GB.
Cons: The overall price is hard to swallow. Not to mention without a HDTV, the graphics look all that great.
Other Thoughts: Too bad Microsoft and Sony can't seem to find one console to stick with. Between the two companies, there has been a total of 11 different configurations. Sony with 6 (20GB, 40GB, 60GB, two different 80GB versions, and now the 160GB. Microsoft had the Core, Arcade, Premium 20GB, Premium 60GB, and the Elite 120GB. Enough is enough.
