Rating + 5 Best Headset Yet!

Pros: Amazing quality! Best headset that I have had so far (out of 3) I have not had one person realize that I was on a Bluetooth headset yet. Simply fantastic.

Rating + 5 Best headset I've tried to date

Pros: Small, good sound quality, works better in windy areas than most.

Cons: the clip does not securely hold the headset on your shirt. I've 'lost' it twice so far because the clip did not hold as it was supposed to. It disappeared from hanging on a net on my sun visor just 2 days ago and is still MIA. I'll likely have to order a new headset. I may just go with a cheap unit incase I loose it again (or in this case the person driving my car looses it.)

Rating + 5 BlueAnt Z9 Review

Pros: I have been using this for 2 months now and am very happy with this headset. I upgraded to the Z9i softwware (google it) and it operates as a brand new z9i for half the price. Stays in the ear well without the loop and the battery seems to hold up. No complaints

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Upgrade this to the Z9i software and you are good to go.

Rating + 1 Don't Buy It! Save you rmoney.

Pros: Looks Cool.

Cons: The sound comes through filled with static and very distorted. I upgraded to firmware 4.0, but the sound through the Z9 still sucks. I have tried this on 3 different cell phones with the same bad result. I contacted BlueAnt and followed their instructions to reset and re-pair my Z9, but it did not improve the sound quality.

Other Thoughts: Save your money and pass on the Z9. Buy another brand.

Rating + 5 Very Good

Pros: Easy setup out of the box. Great voice quality for such a small device. Many options!

Cons: Plastic ear hook

Other Thoughts: I have owned several bluetooth phone earpieces including the jawbone and it is the best so far.

Rating + 2 Disappointed

Pros: Good Appearance, low weight, comfortable to wear, I wear it without the ear hook and it still stays steady. The voice isolation works in noisy environment.

Cons: Hiss noise. Not only during calls, but also when I listen to music. My phones are Nokia 6555 and Sony Ericsson W350.
Small size, small battery. This headset can only stands for 3 hours talk.

Other Thoughts: I received an exchange, but the hiss noise is still there. I noticed the noise seems to be nonlinear to the volume. There is a step/point. At this point, if I turn up the volume, the noise will become very loud. But if I turn down the volume, the noise will become very slight, however the voice now is too low too hear.

Rating + 5 Works well with iPhone 2G and now 3G and Motorola Krazr

Pros: Small size, excellent noise canceling, easy to pair, comfortable fit on ear - feels "confident" when wearing (other devices felt like they wanted to fall off all the time).

Cons: I don't always remember the button controls, so I sometimes set increased noise canceling (it has two settings) when I really want to hang up on a call. No big deal - just me.

Other Thoughts: I have used this quite a while with my previous Apple iPhone 2G phone. I now have the 3G model and the headset still works flawlessly. I have been very impressed with its simple feature set and how well it actually works.

I am sharing this now with my wife as she just lost her Jabra "banana" headset which she really liked. She is using a Motorola Krazr and it works well with that phone as well. Now she wants her own.

Rating + 5 I bought BlueAnt Again

Pros: It's small, compact, really loud (maybe at times a bit too loud when dialing numbers on the Treo it was deafening), stylish (clips on to shirt button/under tie perfectly), good battery life (usu only one charge at night), pairing relatively painless (Treo650-ok and iPhone-great) and automatic. Works well with Belkin Bluetooth key+ Skype and switches automatically between iphone and belkin depending on which one is being used (haven't tried mid skype-call or iphone call switches yet). I bought the V1 since I was so happy with the noise cancellation of the Z9!

Cons: Pairing can be a bit tricky on Treo... if not in direct line of site will frequently need resyncing (painful requiring rediscovery and password syncing)
* need belkin bluetooth key (support up to 330'! I can finally walk around my apt on bluetooth w/o much interference) and belkin bluetooth software to pair on WinXPSP2, built in bluetooth in XP is worthless.
* though rare, if not paired with iphone (rarely loses pairing - i phone bluetooth also powerful -long distance in apartment works) easily re-pairs.
* metalic plastic low quality, dropped 1x on asphalt and made lots of little dings on the surface :(

Other Thoughts: The Z9 is a tank, it SURVIVED one machine wash cycle, and while it was a little glitchy at first, I dried it out immediately over my A/C fan for an evening, by morning time it was usable and sound quality not degraded at all from what I could tell by voicemails, however my friends were complaining more than usu when I was walking on busy NYC street with max isolation activated (thus the V1 purchase). However in apartment on skype after wash it worked perfectly. Belkin key + z9 perfect combo. Only limitation was behind stone wall it did break up a bit.

Rating + 3 Not for sensitive ears

Pros: Callers like the noise cancellation. Comfortable. I like the clothes clip on the back, easily attaches to shirt or pants pockets.

Cons: Buttons are not as sensitive as I would like it to be. Difficult to switch between bluetooth headsets. Does not work well with PS3. High frequency tones while idol.

Other Thoughts: Not everyone can hear those frequency tones. I and one other coworker can, but five others could not. Its enough to bother me. I swapped it out with BlueAnt tech support and the new one also had the same problem.

Rating + 2 It is ok for a light user

Pros: The regular noise cancellation mode is acceptable. It is light on the ear.

Cons: 1) The high cancellation mode is not usable!
2) The earpiece broke after four months of use (I use it everyday)!
3) the buttons do not usually do what you want them to do! They tend to not work sometimes!

Other Thoughts: This is a good beta product at best. You better off trying the next revision of the product or the one after it.

Rating + 5 BlueAnt Z9, love it!

Pros: very light, ease of use, range is great, ability to flash firmware

Cons: Flashing firmware very difficult process, original fw was 3.2 and not as good as today (4.0)

Other Thoughts: Got this headset from newegg about a year ago due to great reviews and awards. First flash to 3.4 was quite good but the 4.0 seems even better. Fast connection to my Mogul PPC6800 and this last firwmware even corrected a connection problem for one of my customers on a Verizon 6700.

Pros: Super Light, Sounds better than the phone, price is AWESOME, blue ant has done it right.

Cons: No option to make it an in the ear headset, but the over the ear is so light it doesn't matter

Other Thoughts: I have seen the guy who got a hissing sound i have noticed that as well for my HTC touch but its not loud enuf to hurt the sound quality. also some back feed is to be expected

Rating + 4 Good Voice Isolation

Pros: Excellent voice isolation, nice and compact, non obtrusive, not terribly uncomfortable to wear. Most people can't tell I'm using a hands-free when it is set to normal voice isolation. On max isolation I've had people definately noticing voice quality difference..almost "robotic" sounding, but still isolating freeway noise with the window down.Battery life is excellent.

Cons: Noticable static when paired with a phone that is worn on a belt, or kept in a pants pocket. I have a Razr and a Razr2 and I hear the static with both when either of the above conditions are met, however, leave the phone on a table or desk,( pretty much in line of sight) and the BlueAnt reception is clear at 15' away. I upgraded the firmware immediately after getting the device, after reading prior reviews.
The incoming calls sound somewhat "tinney", seems as if Apple can make decent sounding earbuds the same size as the Z9's , BlueAnt could have done a better job on sound quality.

Other Thoughts: I debated weather or not to keep the Z9, with the static issue, and the weak sound quality, but after reading pros and cons of the other market leaders, I decided to keep it, The devices seem to get better with each new generation, maybe someone will get it all together in one package.

Rating + 3 Not Compatible

Pros: Light, Clear sound when listen to music from phone.

Cons: I have a Nokia E65. Sound is not clear for me and the other. It sound good on my wife Nokia 6100. I think the problem that this bluetooth is a 2.0 bluetooth version, my phone only support the v1.2.

When you tilt your head and look down under a table the headset tend to pop out from ear and come loose.

It hard to find the latest firmware from Blueant website, just type Blueant z9 firmware search, this will take you to the latest firmware web page.

Rating + 3 Voice Isolation??????

Pros: Small, Sleek, Nice charger, Comfortable and light. Good sound clarity and volume control.

Cons: Voice Isolation is worthless. I tried while watching TV and adjusted the volume to different levels, radio in the car, walking through store with cart, main area at movie theater and each time the party on the other end either couldn't hear me or asked if I was walking near a waterfall. I have had Plan*tronics at half this price work just as well. I read alot of reviews and felt confident that this unit would do as the video showed. Not even close.

Other Thoughts: This item as a "Return for refund within: non-refundable"

Rating + 5 The best I've tried

Pros: I've had the Samsung WEP200 and the Plantronics 655 both were supposed to be good. They weren't compared to the Blue Ant. Inside the car or house the other two were okay but going outside in the open it was aweful. The Blue Ant is clear as a bell without crackling outside and very easy to use.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that it's possible to turn the unit off when you are trying to end a call. I did that only once when I first got. BUT, the unit will end the call automatically when the other party hangs up so there's really no need for you to end the call yourself unless of course you never connect a call to begin with.

Other Thoughts: The firware upgrades are easy via the USB connection, it's stylish, it fits well but the ear bud can be uncomfortable for some. I agree with another reviewer that ear buds can be hard to find but I found one and was in stock. No biggie. My ear bud got mangled while in my pants pocket. A case would've been handy but who wants to carry the case around everywhere. Just keep it on your ear and you won't have to worry about it.

Rating + 3 Not bad for the price but the ear bud is another story

Pros: When I first got it it sounded great. I like how fast it charges. Voice isolation seems pretty good the few times I've used it. I like the fact that firmware upgrades seem to fix real problems.

Cons: The voice and signal quality seem to vary as I have upgraded the radio on my phone (Sprint Mogul). The ear buds only lasted 5 months and are very hard to find. The one NA retailer says they are out of stock with no set ETA although they do seem to get replacements in.

Other Thoughts: The firmware upgrades helped but are hard to find on the website. The Z9i looks like it is meant to address the ear bud problem but if it is made the same, it means it's good for about 1 year. Also, I wish it had a carrying case. The ear bud issue keeps it from being rated a 4.

Rating + 3 Meh

Pros: Ok for my first wireless headset. It's nice and small and charges quickly. Fits snugly in ear.

Cons: Small - easy to get lost. The buttons are hard to press and the voice isolation doesn't work. I frequently get the "Oh, you're using your headset." Tech support blames all problems on phone, overusing the "You're phone's become corrupt, reboot it" line. This rarely fixes the issue. I can no longer turn down the volume on my phone.

Other Thoughts: The $5 wired headset that came with my phone is better than this. Since this is my first wireless, I'll grade future headsets against this one. Not bad, though, since Newegg is cheaper than the rest.

Rating + 1 digital distortion

Pros: well constructed, fits the ear very nicely (compared to the last one I had), easy to set up and straightforward to operate

Cons: people I talked to using it complained that my voice sounded digitized and distorted. I recorded it by calling my own answering machine and saw what they meant. It cuts out some of the tonal quality of your voice, thus reducing your ability to communicate. Since this nullifies all the good points and I have to return it, I gave it a 1 since it is zero use to me. If this unit is merely defective my apologies to Blue Ant. It doesn't seem too likely though. even if I don't recall reading this particular complaint before buying. Thought this was high endish

Other Thoughts: the main button doesn't click as it were, so you can't feel when you've pushed it hard enough. also I don't like the bright LED flashing when it's active. what is it with LEDs and manufacturers these days, give it a rest...

Rating + 2 Nice in theory

Pros: Small, lightweight

Cons: Button is confusing, when i want it to hang up it changes the voice isolation mode, oftentimes will be too quiet for me to hear. It doesn't fit in my ear well at all. It has taken me 3 months to finally find a position that won't just fall directly out of my ear. Sound quality is very poor - reminds me of cell phones from the 90's. Range isn't amazing, it will start breaking up if the phone isn't in direct line of sight within 5 feet. I can never tell if my phone is going to use the headset or use the in-phone speaker/receiver, often the headset will not automatically connect to the phone so i have to disable and re-enable bluetooth mode on my phone to get it to connect (takes about 1 minute)

Other Thoughts: Definitely would not buy again. Doesn't stay in my ear or fit me well at all. Sound quality is very poor. Expensive. I'd go with a Jawb0ne over this.

Rating + 5 Awesome

Pros: This thing is amazing! It is light weight (so light and comfortable that I almost got into the shower with it on). I put it on in the morning, wear it all day, and hardly notice it at all. Plus, it is small enough that everyone doesn’t act like you are a cyborg. Charge time is excellent, and it last a couple of days (Friday morning to Sunday night) with moderate talk time, no problem.

Cons: Sometimes the wind picks up in Texas and no one can hear you, then again, I have never had a headset that works in those conditions. I currently own, 2 Jabras, 3 Motos, 1 Jawbone, and the BlueAnt takes the cake. Furthermore, even my stereo A2DP headsets (moto) are great; but they don’t work well with Texas wind either. Then again, that would be considered a different class of headset.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you go to the website and upgrade your firmware. The one you receive might already be updated and the website will tell you if it has the latest firmware. Mine was V3.2 and updated to V3.4, and it only took about 15 min (from getting on computer to putting it back on my ear).

Rating + 4 Very Good but not easy to use

Pros: small size, voice isolation technology is great, easy to recharge with the USB port, Multiple Bluetooth pairings is a huge help as I pair with my cell phone, a PC at home, and a PC at the office. Very nice to use with Skype.

Cons: not simple to hang up a call and overall the complexity of button depress codes is a bit much, Jabra has that down very good but lacks in other areas, The ear contact piece isn't very comfortable and will degrade and need replaced over time, difficult and pricey to replace

Other Thoughts: After a lot of research I settled on this over the Aliph Jawbone as I didn't like the radiator on my cheek design. But with form also is function and unfortunately the Blue Ant has made use of its buttons an acrobatic feat rather than a comfortable mindless routine. When I'm in the car using the device I don't want to have to concentrate on if my finger is on the right button(s) and if I held it down for x seconds. This was just a huge usability oversight that could be corrected with a firmware update. I'd rather lose options for simpler basic functionality since that is the foundation.

Cons: Does not work with, at least, palm 700p or wx

Pros: relativly comfortable to wear. Light weight. Clear sound if there isnt alot of background noise. I use it for most of my calls now. Its nice to talk hands free.

Pros: Small, looks good, sound clarity and noise reduction very good.

Cons: Power on-off switch not working properly. Blue Ant's customer service advised me to experiment by pressing different location of the switch, I still have a hard time turning the unit on. This is a poor design on their part.

Rating + 2 Wait until the earbud disintegrates...

Pros: Great sound-canceling technology, great that you can upgrade the firmware, very comfortable to wear.

Cons: Inconvenient button presses to redial or even hang up the phone.

The worst thing is that the rubber "balloon" earpiece deteriorated after only four month of use. BluAnt insists that this is not covered by their warranty and wants to charge $10.00 (plus s&h) for a replacement, which they don't even have in stock!

Other Thoughts: I would have recommended this with 5 stars a month ago. Now, because of the poor customer service and this really BAD design flaw (the magically disintegrating ear bud) I can only give it 2 stars and warn you off buying it!

Pros: Great product, people think that I am calling from a land line when driving 60 mph in my car. I love the comfortable fit, does not get crammed in the ear. Very small and light.

Cons: Had to upgrade the firmware, but the instructions were clear.

Other Thoughts: Thanks Newegg for having reviews, I discovered I needed to upgrade the firmware after reading your reviews. The newest firmware is 3.4, my Z9 had 3.1. Accessory wise you get 2 replacement ear loops, usb cable and power cord. Have mine paired to a Moto RAZR Z3 and a Blackberry.

Rating + 5 Great product, dangrous packaging!

Pros: Great design, lightweight, fairly comfortable. Great features, clear sound on both ends.

Cons: Packaging! Though the package was beautifully designed and perfectly shows off the Z9, it can be dangerous if you arent't carefull. My first reaction at the case: "Oh wow, it has metal caps on the box, very nice.", my finger's reaction when trying to pry apart the plastic packaging: an inch wide, deep cut that stiiil hurts... please be careful not to slide your fingers on the sharp metal edge!

The product itself has few cons, but when it comes to updating the firmware, which I've heard greatly improves performance, watch out if you have windows Vista! I couldn't get windows to let me install my own driver so I used an XP pc instead.

Other Thoughts: I just bought this headset to take place of the Motorolla H500 that I had only a few days prior purchased to use while driving, and for at work to free my hands up. I discovered as soon as I put the H500 on that floppiness and volume were quite problematic. Enter, the Z9, I ordered this baby on saturday and it arrived on the day after it was shipped (thanks for the speedy ship newegg!). Right out of the box I adjusted it and it fit on my ear like a glove, I even put on my Motorolla H500 and swung my head around a bit, the H500 went flying whilst the Z9 sat snug as a bug.
I haven't really found anything bad about it yet, it was just a bit annoying to update the firmware, but it seems to have come with the next-to-latest one (3.3, latest at time of this review is 3.4), so if it's too much trouble for you to update, it already has the major bugs worked out (from what I've read). Great headset, I would recommend it to anybody. Just remember to be carefull when opening the neat packaging!

Rating + 5 Giddy as a school girl

Pros: Upgradeable firmware. _Very_ comfortable fit. Sleek, stylish, and ultra light-weight (you forget that it's there). Long battery life. Shirt/Tie clip for keeping safe when not in use. I would like to say that I am trying this after having had a Jawbone for 1.5+ years (dog ate the jawbone... guess he was hungry or thought that it would taste like an actual bone, lol). This had better reviews than the Jawbone (see other thoughts below). FW update makes sure that my product will continue to get better with time (how many other BT headsets can say that? Definitely NOT the jawbone! Great instructions (for everything, including easy-to-follow instructions for FW update). BEST BT HEADSET I'VE EVER OWNED! Call quality is outstanding (both ends)! Loud enough to use in a car with the windows down (huge plus)! Wind reduction (best in class; jawbone sucks in wind redux). Shirt-clip is great idea (but limited in practicality due to small gate and difficulty of sliding onto thicker fabric).

Cons: Other people have stated that they don't like the fact that to hang up on someone you have to hold down the button for 3 seconds. I don't mind as most of the time I just let the call end when the other party hangs up (less work for me; even if the button was a single-click instead of a 3-second hold, I still wouldn't use it, relying on the other party to hang up to end the call). In situations (like being on a conference call) where you may truly want to disconnect prematurely (leaving the call going), I don't mind having to hold down the button for 3 seconds. I seriously cannot find even ONE thing that this unit does not do superbly. BT headsets are not perfected just yet, but this one (as shown by having the absolute highest rating [8.3 out of 10] of ALL BT headsets on CNET) does everything that I need and does it very well (as of FW revision 3.4). The FW update might be hard for newbs, but won't deduct an egg (having FW update future-proofs your investment, which is GREAT).

Other Thoughts: Received in 3 days (newegg rocks). Comes beautifully packaged (though difficult to open). Pictures don't do the Z9 justice; it really is a beauty! Research indicated that the BlueAnt Z9 is pretty much *the* best BT headset (based on reviews). I used to own a Jawbone. Jawbone was nice (had it for over 1 year until my dog ate it) but had its flaws (speaker not loud enough, loose fit on the ear regardless of which ear loop or ear bud used, and moderate to poor reception of the incoming call even though others said I sounded clear). I read over 200 reviews for the BlueAnt Z9 and they say it's loud (101+ dBa), clear on both ends, has wind-reduction (better than my old Jawbone I hope, which hated wind), and is comfortable and stable on the ear (everything I'm looking for). Hope so :) upgrading the firmware right now (I found that people leaving bad reviews for the BlueAnt Z9 did NOT perform the upgrade and nearly all good reviews say that it is a MUST).

Rating + 5 Wireless Employee Review

Pros: I work for a major Wireless company (red and black). I Have used many Bluetooth's in my 6yr career (well bluetooth's haven't been around in the US for 6yrs but you get the idea). I was so impressed with my Father's Z9 he got me one for my Birthday. This by far surpasses any headset I have ever used or sold. I can definitely see why this guy has won awards. Buy it you will not regret it.

Cons: Firmware Version 3.3 Did not work well on my LG vx8600 or vx8500. It paired fine, sounded excellent but after you turned it off it would not pair back on with the device. I updated to firmware 3.4, no issues what so ever. Works perfect... Make sure to update to the latest firmware version if you are having issues. Updating Firmware could be a little easier. (this could be a challenge for a novice computer user)

Other Thoughts: The clarity, responsiveness, and the cool shirt/tie clip makes this the #1 BT headset out there. I wish I could sell these at work. Unfortunately,we don't sell them :(

Rating + 5 Nice Product

Pros: Seems to be very good and does work in cancelling noise.

Cons: I think it is just a step above the rest and not the quantum leap it is portrayed to be.

Other Thoughts: There are times I still get "what did you say ?" but for the most part it had been great. - Realistic opinion of performance here as a user.

Rating + 4 Gets better w/ fw revisions but as of 3.4 a far cry from a JawBone

Pros: Size, features, firmware updates, battery life, auto-level feature (careful, it gets LOUD!).

Cons: Cheesy universal ear loop, poor noise cancellation tech, noise cancellation not max by default (you need to click to max).

Other Thoughts: I bought this to complement/replace a Jawbone. The features of the earpiece are very well thought-out. Pair with 3 devices, connect with a click, very easy. I despise that you have to click to max noise-cancellation every time you turn it on, if there's a way to set max as default I haven't found it. It's tiny & comfortable, but for professional calls I only use it for a backup to my Jawbone.

Rating + 5 BlueAnt Z9 vs Plantronics, and Jawbone

Pros: Blueant Z9 =Comfortable, Small, Awesome hearing volume, NO Echos, FW updates. Plantronics=Comfortable, Great hearing volume, Nice charging unit, easy to pair. Jawbone=Comfortable, lousy hearing volume, USB charging.

Cons: Every single Plantronics I've tried has an ECHO. They hear it, but I don't. Very Annoying!! Jawbone has the Echo as well. I swapped phones, and heard the Echo's myself. Didn't hear Echo's after using all day on the Blueant at all. Blueant is really awesome!! You'll love it!!

Other Thoughts: Blueant is small, but packs the bigger punch of the three. You will hear the person you're talking to much louder on the Blueant as well. Easy buttons to get to. Blueant also wont leave you in the cold after 6 months. They correct any problems by upgrading the Firmware. Very helpful in the future!! Like buying a new device. BlueAnt all the way for me! I'll give it a 10. Get one! You won't regret it.

Rating + 5 Awesome headset!

Pros: Sound quality, Size, Weight, Voice Isolation. Even in busy restaurants people can understand me fine and don't complain or even know I'm using a headset. It's very comfortable to wear and you don't need to use the plastic loop if the ear cushion fits your ear. MAKE SURE TO UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE! They don't always come with the most recent firmware.

Cons: One-size fits all ear cushion

Other Thoughts: I used to own a Motorola flip-style earpiece when BT first came out. It was horrible and unusable unless in a very quiet environment. I tried the Jawbone before the Z9 and hated it. It was way too big and bulky and didn't work nearly as well. I bought myself and my wife a Z9 then my dog ate one so I bought another. My mother-in-law bought one then lost it on a business trip and bought another. That's 5 and all have worked very well after upgrading to the latest firmware.

Rating + 5 Very Good- and getting better

Pros: Very small and lightweight. Looks very nice and not big and clunky. Very comfortable to wear for long period of time.the tie clip on the back is very convenient to help keep from losing it. The firmware upgrades make sure that an already good product keeps getting better

Cons: I wish it used a standar mini usb for charging, but you get a wall charger and a USB in the package so it gives you some options

Other Thoughts: Really like this headset and I have had many others. None are perfect, but this is as close as I have found. Newegg delivery was perfect as always

Rating + 4 Bluetooth Z9 headset

Pros: great headset, very clear and loud. there were some noise issues with software ver 3.1, but since I have upgrade to 3.4, less. One pf the great things about this bluetooth headset is you can upgrade the software on the device via the blueant website and a usb cable, which is great.
also like that it can connect with up to three devices without repairing.

Cons: great with a phone, not so great with skype. may not be optimized for pcs so much.
if you are not a techie, learning all the functionality may take a bit of time, it has only one main button and additional up/down secondary buttons with which through 20 different functions and states can be administered.

Other Thoughts: Great overall headset. Would give it a 5 if it was better looking like the Motopure H12 ;-)

Pros: great speaker, noise canceling works very well, decent battery life, decent signal range, good volume range for deaf people like myself, buttons are easy to find and push, light-weight and comfortable, snug fit. most importantly it looks cool ;)

Cons: mic was a bit muffled sounding at first but it's much better with updated firmware. still not perfect, though. also, for call waiting or to end a call you have to hold the button for 3 seconds - it's kind of annoying but i guess it keeps you from accidentally hanging up when you don't mean to. Also, the provided USB cable is a little short. it get's the job done though.

Other Thoughts: i've been through 4 bluetooth headsets in the last 2 years and this is by far the best all-around. it has all the key features and *no major flaws*, which is highly unusual in my experience.

the upgradeable DSP firmware is one of the best selling points. mine shipped with firmware version 3.1 and there was a very noticeable improvement just upgrading to 3.4 so make sure and update the firmware!

Pros: Its Clear. The Voice Cancellation works. Great Price

Cons: I get a lot of complaints about feed back. I never hear it. The other party says its extremely loud. Sometimes it last for a 1 to 2 seconds but has been longer.

Other Thoughts: I will give it a few more days to see if issue continues. Not to much of a big deal.

Rating + 5 Excellent

Pros: Light and comfortable. Very loud, good sound quality both ways. I can now listen clearly when driving on the freeway.

Cons: Have to hold button to end calls...ear loop seems easy to break. Firmware upgrade instruction is not that clear but manage to get it done.

Other Thoughts: I had a Jawbone and it was horrible. Noise shield was excellent but volume was very low. I couldnt hear much when driving on the freeway. Ear piece design was very bad which will never work no matter what combination you try. Used Jabra ear gel and it worked but still uncomfortable. Its big and heavy. Its unusable after 8 months. I couldnt hear a thing while i drive. In the trash in goes. Good luck to the reviewer that return Z9 to get a jawbone. He will regret it.

Rating + 2 Definitely do not buy

Pros: Small, light, bluetooth 2.0, upgradable firmware, decent instructions, very comfortable to wear.

Cons: The sound quality is very spotty on both sides. The noise cancellation works in that when you are talking it picks up your voice over the background noise. While you are silent; however, it still picks up the background noise and people on the other side complained. This happened numerous times. There were also several times where my reception seemed very poor and where the audio seemed to cut in and out as if my phone had bad reception (however, on the handset it sounded fine).

Other Thoughts: At the time I bought this it was down to this device and the Jawbone. I'm returning this and buying the jawbone in spite of the restocking charge. I anticipate finding it to be much better.

Rating + 3 flimsy

Pros: basically works
small & light
no wires
fit & stayed in my ear without using plastic hook
firmware is upgradeable (see below)

Cons: Plastic hinge for clip cracked after ~1 mo (got snagged on something). The earpiece only comes in one size (will it fit your ear?) & mine disintegrated after ~1yr & a replacement is ten+S&H and is not currently avail from only US distributor. I can hear slight clicking/buzzing sounds under normal idle conditions. The firmware update process is complicated (but I did eventually do it once). My unit looses connection w/ my phone if I'm standing & my phone is in my pocket. Paid more by not buying it via newegg (I was in too much of a hurry).

Other Thoughts: I hope the distributor gets some new ear pieces in stock, till them I'm using an old wired earpiece. Hard to swallow spending ~$13 on maintenance of a $60 product.

Rating + 5 Very good headset!

Pros: **Upgrade to firmware 3.4** Great noise suppression, LOUD, lightweight, great battery life, stylish. This is my second bluetooth headset and it is really a pleasure to use. After the 3.4 update the sound was much improved along with the volume (As loud as you can handle). Very lightweight. Wearability is much better than most headsets since it is very light. The noise suppression is amazing I am able to drive down the highway at 70mph in my Z with the windows half down and on regular voice isolation the listener can barely hear road noise and on max isolation they cannot hear anything but my voice and the interior noise on this car is very lould. Many user configurable features (If you learn to use them)

Cons: The only minor issue I have with this headset: To end a call you have to hold MF button for 3 secs, IMHO you could switch this with the voice isolation settings which only require a quick push to toggle between normal and max.

Other Thoughts: I have to laugh that some people gave this a bad rating because of the blue flashing light (which can be turned off) Read the instruction manual people! Also this may not be the perfect headset for everyone since body build and ear shape is different.

Rating + 4 Slightly Above Average

Pros: This unit is relatively well made. It has good frequency response and good tone. It is very small and one of the more comfortable units to wear. It is so small that I forgot it was there at times. Another reviewer mentioned that you need to be a linebacker or something like that to get the ear bud into your ear canal. The best I can figure out is that the ear bud of this headset ISN'T supposed to fit inside your ear canal, rather sit on outside.

Cons: The biggest con to this unit is that it is staticy unlike the Jabra BT8010 and BT8040. It does not sound as good as either of these. The pro to the con is that the noise isolation for outgoing voice seems to work well, although my wife said that she could hear her voice echo through it(but that could be problem with her phone). Lastly, the ear hook is nothing more than at a cheap piece of clear plastic, but IT IS fairly comfortable, and they do give you three of them.

Other Thoughts: I am now evaluating the Jabra BT8040, it definately sounds better than this one (at least that is my initial feeling), but if you buy this one from newegg it will be a good deal.

Rating + 5 Great Headset

Pros: Great sound quality. Voice Isolation works really well. I use a lot while traveling and even walking through an airport, people can hear me just fine. It has upgradeable firmware. A previous review make note that you should definitely upgrade the firmware. I agree. There were a few bugs, but the instructions for upgrading the firmware are good. It has lots of hotkeys so you don't always have to get out your phone to use it. Very reliable. Shirt clip built in.

Cons: Older firmware does have some bugs. It could give you an earlier warning when the battery is getting low. It will just cut off if the battery is too low and you only get a short warning.

Other Thoughts: Overall I really like this headset and it's my fifth one. (The speaker phones from them are good too.) I was in a hurry and left this one on my shirt when it went in the wash. It got caught and was washed 3 times. I dried it out and it still works great. Great job BlueAnt.

Rating + 5 BlueAnt Z9

Pros: Extremely well thought out design. Works well with my Motorola Q9c (Sprint). This thing is very light and comfortable. Some reviews claim it is painful??? I'm not sure what kind of ears these people have but I am an average 6 foot 190 lb guy and this thing is great. Much better than the Jawbone that I had to return (Jawbone won't pair with my Q). Good sound on my end and good reviews from all people on the other end. Easy controls and easy to upgrade the firmware. Other reviews complain about holding a button 3 seconds to end a call....who cares? The other caller hangs up and the call ends! The only time this could matter is when calling your voicemail or when leaving someone a message. Not a big deal at all.

Cons: No real cons yet. I could see someone being disappointed in the noise isolation technology....you have to have realistic expectations.

Other Thoughts: Another perfect transaction with Newegg. Received the product in two days as usual. Good product, good price and good support. I would recommend this BT headset to anyone.

Rating + 4 Best I've tried

Pros: Sound is clear. I find it quite comfortable even for long periods. Had some problems upgrading firmware using online instructions. I called customer support and they immediately emailed me more precise instructions. Great service! Girlfriend said activating voice isolation to max is like night and day. Works well. Maybe not as well as Jawbone noise cancellation but I find the voice quality alot better with the Z9. Voice dialing works well also.

Cons: Although sound is decent it is not as full as my prior Nokia headset. Sometimes when asked, people say I sound like I'm in a tunnel, but they don't complain about it. Other people say I sound really good. (perhaps difference is the cell phone they are using)

Other Thoughts: Definitely upgrade firmware. Came with 2.2 and wasn't bad, updated to 3.4 and alot better. Volume goes alot higher now which is important to someone hard of hearing or while driving on interstate. I am pretty finicky when it comes to bluetooth headsets and I would definitely recommend this one. May not be perfect but none are as of yet.

Pros: None that I can think of. First time writing a review of a product, cause I'm mad.

Cons: Read good reviews on this product, and bought this. Stopped working after a month, now I can't a refund, that's nice. When it worked, it had a lot static. Hurt my ears when wearing it for extended period.

Other Thoughts: I would never buy another product from this company, and do not trust the good reviews of this product, it's all marketing. I'm happy with a replacement headset from Samsung, a company that has been making excellent products for a long time. Not this 'hit and run' product that makes me angry. I guess for some companies they just want to "laugh all the way to bank" with the use of their marketing and leave their customers with empty pockets.

Pros: Okay here we go. Sound is excellent, voice quality is great. I was talking to someone and it sounds like they are on the phone. Pair is easy and so is the functions of the headset.. Would recommend to anyone, BUT there are some draw backs, please Other and Cons...

Cons: The price is not to bad, right up with the Jawbone.. Firmware is a bit confusing at first to someone... Once you get the hang of it its really easy. Also if paired up more then three times, you have to hook it up to the PC and reflash. ( Works better then what they tell you to do)

Other Thoughts: Ok, this part I am confused.. I have the Samsung FlipShot and I had some weird problems.. The issues is everytime I talked i heard static crackling in ear piece, not to bad.. Here is the issue that just ticks me off. And I would say that I am Cell Phone expert. When you end a call it burst a large long static noise in my ear... But for my dad who has my old Samsung SCH-A990 it works great.... So please This product can be touchy.....

Pros: Small, so lightweight you barely notice it's there, will pair with 3 devices, good noise cancellation. It includes 2 ways to charge, the wall charger, and a small USB cable (one end is non-standard). Compared with others I've tried it is better, and I like the features.

Cons: Very annoying hiss, sounds like rain or light wind on both sides of conversation. Sound is clear, but there is no depth to the sound (no bass) regardless or normal or max setting. It just sounds flat or maybe like the person is talking inside a small box or something. My old earpiece had a much broader range of sound. Also loop that fits over ear is cheesy brittle plastic (they actually provide 2 extras), which seems to indicate how easy they can break.

Other Thoughts: I'm still debating on whether to return it. The hissing even when not on a call is *annoying*. I haven't had it long enough to get a good collection of feedback from people I've called about how they think I sound, but the first thing they notice is the hiss.

Rating + 5 Close to Perfect BT headset

Pros: As advertised, it really does remove medium level background noise (walking outside with medium amounts of ambient noise) almost entirely, making me sound very intelligible on the other side.
* COOL clip on back, too heavy for shirt pocket, but perfect for vertical "tie clip" option, you can rotate the earpiece 180 degrees and "hook" a button behind a shirt for a super-secure position and easy access. Haven't tried it UNDERNEATH a tie yet.
* Engineer who designed fit should be given a nobel prize, it is perfectly adjustable, the hook can be tightened for your earsize. Really comfortable!
* Teally good volume adjustment, worked well.
* Super loud on Treo650, dialing numbers way too loud.

Cons: Does LOOK as cool or retro as the Motorola H12. Plastic housing sort of cheap looking, dropped it on concrete and it scratched pretty easily.
* While it removes sounds better than any other BT headset, it's not perfect (am I asking too much for $64?) In bars or on NOISY NYC streets, the noise will still sometimes breakthrough and be noticed by my phone buddy. Voice isolation max makes you sound more "distant and tinny" though probably is more intelligible in these situations.
* The Cool lookin earhook is easily scratched.

Other Thoughts: You must upgrade!!! Upgraded to v3.3 via USB cable, had to read directions and follow them carefully, took 20"+ minutes.
* Sound better quality on v3.3 better. Also when upgrading you will get extra features such as when you switch voice isolation and Z9 says "Voice Isolation Max", or reaching limits of volume, it will finally play with voice incoming instead of OVER it. Also new upgrade allows earpiece to stay on instead of powering down automatically and being unpaired.

Cons: The device showed up immediately needing an flash update to be usable, this was not noted anywhere though...

Rating + 5 Best headset

Pros: This is only my third BT headset, so I am no expert, but I am VERY happy with the Z9. Sound quality on both sides is superb. My other headsets were the HS850, which now gets stuck in the "on" mode, and which never seemed loud enough in the car because the speaker sits outside yuor ear. And the other unit was the Sound ID SM100, which I just returned to Costco. The mic on the Sound ID transmitted fairly muffled speech, and the unit was easy to lose because I couldn't attach it to myself when not in use.

Cons: I would like it if the tie clip could attach to clothing more securely. And while the firmware updates are great, and frequent, they should be easier to implement. Also, the various controls will take some time to learn. Finally, it would be great if you could hang up by holding the button less than 3 seconds.

Other Thoughts: I get the impression that a lot of users are maybe trying to jam the large speaker into their ear canal, which, even if possible, is painful. I fould that the unit stays very secure if I lower it (on the earpiece) enough so that the speaker rests inside the "tabs" (sounds like Dumbo! - I don't know the medical term) at the bottom of my ear. I haven't tried the Jabra suggestion yet.

Pros: Very good sound quality and very loud. Many headsets simply do not get loud enough, this unit gets too loud on max volume. Very good reception, does not crackle and pop like many headsets.

Cons: I wish the voice isolation and hangup functions were reversed, holding to hang up is silly. I'd like to kick the engineer responsible for using a non standard charging port smack in the middle of the groin. Come on, its 2008, use mini-usb. Thanks.

Other Thoughts: Great headset for the money.

Rating + 4 The Best I've Tried

Pros: When I first used this headset, it took me a while to realize that I was getting a pain in my ear from the earhook because I had it too tight. Once I adjusted it, it became a most comfortable to wear headset, and very secure.

I've owned an LG HBM-730 (clarity problems, and the earhook (a coated wire) broke after about two months) and a Jabra BT 250VR (not bad, but (I hate to admit) I have a problem with "personal moisture" and I was afraid it might short out, so I don't use it much.

The voice quality is excellent and the noise-cancelling technology works very well.

Cons: As others have stated, the fact that you have to hold the big key down for three seconds to disconnect a call is annoying, as I have shut the set down once or twice doing this. Other than that I can't think of any cons.

Other Thoughts: I like it, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a practical, if not stylish, Bluetooth headset.

Pros: Just like previous reviewers, I have tried several headsets and the Z9 wins hands down. It is comfortable, it fits securely on my ear (unlike the jawbone), you can update the firmware, it comes with a 2 year replacement warranty, it is small and the noise cancellation is excellent. Everyone I have talked to mentioned that they could not hear any road noise and did not even know I was on a headset. I would recommend this headset to anyone who is frustrated with finding the perfect headset.

Cons: The only reason I did not give this product a 5 is because you have to hold the multi-function button down for 3 seconds for it to end the call. This sometimes can power the headset down as well as end the call. Hopefully, Blueant will change this in the future with firmware updates.

Rating + 3 Hoped for Better

Pros: Small size, nice looks, not hard to use, holds well in the ear blocks out other sounds to that ear.It can be charged with the USB or wall unit.
I like that the firm ware can be upgraded, was a little tricky to do, but got done.
It looks like the battery can be serviced via the cover with the screws, that's nice.

Cons: Tight fit in the ear can be uncomfortable. Incoming sounds are a bit muffled. I have better Can be a trick to disconnect call without powering down the unit. Don’t count on the built in clip to hold on very tight.

Other Thoughts: I think this works well in high noise environments. But that's not what I need most of the time. There are better choices for a user like me.

Rating + 4 Best yet...tested 4

Pros: I tested the bluetooth 2.0: Jawbone, Motorola H12, Samsung WEP410 and the Blueant Z9. Z9 WINS! It was the most comfortable and had small conveniences like a built in clip (attach to you pocket or shirt) and the earhook slides up and down making it most comfortable! Overall best sound reported by those I spoke to.

Cons: The Jawbone fell apart. I pulled off the charger and half the unit came with it. The H12 had the worst sound quality to the person on the other end. The Samsung wasn't much better. All 3 had multiple ear fittings yet none were comfortable.

Other Thoughts: z9 is the one I keep. Best of these 4 top notchers!

Pros: - Usb charging capablility (although USB isn't standard size as previously stated.)
- Potential for firmware upgrades

Cons: - Poor sound quality (both sending and receiving) I can't tell you how many people say they can't hear me.
- I used this with an LG VX8300. When I hit the "End" key on the phone, the Z9 ALWAYS disconnects. I spoke with tech support on the phone and they stated it's SUPPOSED to do that!? It's annoying.
- Battery life is garbage.
- Been using this unit since October and already the earpiece (not the plastic ring for around your ear) but the actual ear piece falls off regularly and I have to fish for it at my feet in the car.
- I'm a big guy, with big ears and this thing hurts my ears. I can't leave it in for any extended period of time.
-

Other Thoughts: I bought this product from NewEgg back in October with high hopes. Needless to say I purchased new Plantronics units today and right out of the box they seem superior in build quality and reception. Bottom line, this thing isn't worth the money. I was drawn to it by the promise of upgradeable firmware and I liked the USB charging feature. I'm currently on my fourth bluetooth headset and this is by far the WORST one I've owned. As far as I'm concerned, BlueAnt can stay in Australia.

Rating + 5 Fantastic Headset with N95

Pros: My wife is using the BlueAnt Z9 v3.3 paired with a Nokia N95-3. The sound quality is fantastic and the noise reduction is incredible. During our initial testing the noise reduction cut-out the background noise so completely that I had to ask if she was still there. The voice quality is natural and clear on both the high and low noise reduction setting. Even when she is calling from her very noisy car the low noise reduction setting complete eliminates all sounds except for her voice.

The Z9 is very comfortable to wear. It is small, light, and doesn’t intrude into the ear canal. After we discovered that the sound was great, she wore it all day to see how it felt. She said it is so light and unobtrusive that it seemed to disappear.

Using the Z9 is pretty simple. There is one big multifunction button for on/off, noise reduction high/low and for other functions such as voice dial. There is also a volume up and a volume down button that together function as the LED on/off mode selecto

Cons: USB cable is not a standard mini-USB. So although it charges from USB you need to use the cable provided.

Other Thoughts: I have to note that the Z9 shipped with firmware v1.0, and with v1.0 the sound quality was pretty bad. It was amazing that the firmware upgrade to v3.3 could improve it so much. (It may help that the headset is paired to a very high end phone.) Also the firmware upgrade procedure has excellent instructions but the process is tedious. I am just thankful that BlueAnt incorporated the ability to upgrade the firmware.

Rating + 5 carries many times it weight

Pros: clear sound both for caller and callee. size and weight. Battery life. Volume level

Cons: some discomfort after prolonged hours on the ear. multifunction button can be confusing,

Other Thoughts: has a neat clip to keep this baby on a shirt or cuff. (could use a case for my laptop case and flights) As one reviewer stated, buttons are on bottom when in left ear, and therefore difficult to press both at same time for functions.

Rating + 4 nice headset

Pros: By far best BT earpiece I have owned. So far no problems with functionality and call clarity is very clear for me. I have paired it with Treo 700wx and Motorola A1200 and it works great with both devices.

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: Should have used standard usb-mini. So many combos of buttons to get used to having to switch between phones while on the go. If its used on the left ear, pressing the +/- buttons together is awkward since they will be on the underside.

Rating + 4 Good headset

Pros: Plenty of volume, small size, lightweight, simple design, looks cool too. :D

Cons: Slight comfort issues; my plantronics 510 was more comfortable. I could wear than one all day and would often forget i was wearing it. :p

Other Thoughts: Still a great headset, didn't buy from newegg but yeah.

Rating + 4 Yeah it's ok

Pros: nice size, good weight and balance, fits me well. will not fall out of my ear when i use the ear hook. voice isolation *does* work. and you can actually turn the volume up loud enough to where it hurts (yes, i think this is a good thing, you *can turn it down too.)

Cons: not a whole lot of cons, except, not exactly what i was expecting. of course i was probly expecting about $300 worth for only $75, that's just how i am. oh! almost forgot, the ear hook is kind of tight so it can start to hurt if your ear is too big.

Other Thoughts: it *does* sound exactly like the videos on the blue ant website. so listen closely, you may hear either something you can deal with or something you can't. ... when you turn on the voice isolation, the background drops out to just "under water" noise that eventually becomes just slightly distracting. while when left off, some of the background noise is overwhelming. if you really listen, you can hear this in the videos.

Rating + 5 Best Bluetooth So Far

Pros: I love this headset. First bluetooth that I have ever been able to enjoy while have others be able to hear me clearly. I have owned the Jawbone and it was so uncomfortable but this headset is just great. It is comfortable and very good at delivering a clear conversation.

Cons: Charging port is a weird little one not just regular mini usb.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anyone who has not had good luck with Bluetooth and wants something that really performs.

Rating + 4 Overall Great Product!

Pros: Great design, fits well in your ear (it may take about 2 weeks to get used to), awesome battery life, noise isolation technology, firmware user upgradable, pairs with Moto Rizr Z3 with no problem, good price.

Cons: Firmware upgrade took some time to figure out on Vista, you have to hold the button down for 2-3 seconds to end a call instead of just pushing it,

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a great headset. My only real complaint is how you can't just push a button to end the call (this could be changed in a future firmware upgrade). I drive a flatbed truck and it is very loud in the cab and this headset works very well in high noise applications. I have used a Tekkeon headset in the past and this comletely blows it away. I usually work between 11-15 hour shifts and the battery lasts about 13 hours using it almost all day.

Rating + 5 BlueAnt Z9

Pros: This unit is really light, but well made. The volume buttons are easy to access and use. The dual mic/voice isolation technology works extremely well. The device is also software upgradeable. I tried it while driving putting the windows up/down. In normal mode, it didn't handle wind noise from the driver's side, but did for all other windows. (But neither did the Plantronics Voyager 510) I compared the Z9 to the 510 (highly rated by CNET and others), and was informed by people I called that the Z9 was louder and clearer (ie, sounded closer). I also made numerous calls to my voicemail using both units under various conditions and listened to them. The Max isolation mode cut out 95% of the wind noise created by the open window tests I did. Very impressive results.

Cons: The unit came with v1.0 software, and upgrading it to v3.2 took awhile. The unit is so small, I will have to make sure I do not lose it.

Other Thoughts: I had also purchased the new Plantronics Voyager 520, thinking I would do a real-time side by side comparison, and just pay the restocking fee for one of them. I never opened the 520, and will just keep the Z9.

Rating + 5 Long Useage!

Pros: I use the EnV phone from Viewsonic, VX9000 or something like that. I bought an H9 earpiece that wouldn't make it through a day without dying. The Z9 however went an entire weak without even the low battery indicator flashing. The longevity of this earpiece is astonishing.

Cons: none to date..

Other Thoughts: the LED indicator changes to red when low or charging and blue when running normally...no other earpiece I've seen does that.

Rating + 2 a problem of compatibility with Sony

Pros: Cool design

Cons: I'm using BlueAnt Z9 Firm. 3.1 with Sonyericsson W950I for two days, and during calls I hear hiss. In quiet environment the hiss is annoying. Plus, the other party of the call is complaining that the noise canceling doesn't work and my voice is breaking. I tried BlueAnt and my PC Sony VAIO VGN-FE890 with Skype and also with cell phone SonyEricsson S700i. Problems are remaining the same on both devices: the hiss is intense, and my voice is breaking. I have a reply from BlueAnt customer support that they have had reports of compliance issues with Sony Ericsson phones. I tried BlueAnt with Blackberry 8800. I have no problems at all. The sound is clear, I have no hiss. the other party hears my voice very clear. I'm sorry, but I'm going to return my unit.

Rating + 4 It seems OK

Pros: It connects fine. Fits my ear great and no dropped connections. The software can be updated through your computer.

Cons: Voice quality is OK for the most part. Sometimes callers complain about the background noise. It seems to be better activating the noise cancellation to max. Updating the software can be a real challenge.

Other Thoughts: Since I don't have a lot of experience with bluetooth devices I don't know if this is one of the better ones. Had a Plantronics 340 and returned it.

Rating + 2 Returned it... trying Jawbone next

Pros: Small, able to upgrade firmware

Cons: Earpiece was way too big. I kept trying to push it in to stay put but ended up hitting the multi-function button. The button, by-the-way needs to be held for three seconds to end a call, real annoying. The only way it was staying put was if the ear clip was perfectly adjusted and I didn't move. Also, don't bother using until you upgrade the firmware to the current version. (received mine 9/24/07 and needed an update).

Other Thoughts: I tried to be a maximizer with this purchase, but honestly, you need to it on.

Rating + 4 Very nice headset

Pros: Very attractive. Superbly comfortable! fits so perfectly in my ear you forget its there after a minute. pairs pretty quickly with devices. has excellent INCOMING voice quality. firmware is upgradeable. very simple design with buttons, you have volume up and down, and a multi function. you can completely disable the LED's.

Cons: I own a Jawbone. Having used the Jawbone, hearing the outgoing voice quality on the Z9 sounds muffled. Otherwise the the Z9 compared to other headsets, hands down sounds great. maybe they can improve it in a firmware update. also, the Z9 will only hold memory for 3 devices, if you try and pair it to a 4th, it wont pair. you'll need to reset the Z9. noise cancellation is exactly as advertised by Blue Ant, but still nowhere near the Jawbone.

Other Thoughts: To the guy below that had weird sounds, upgrade the firmware. it should take care of it. i had weird noise too when i first got the Z9, firmware 1.0, then i upgraded to 2.2, and it fixed lots of things. hopefully, the next firmware update will fix the outgoing voice quality so the people you're talking to dont think you're talking into a pillow.

Rating + 4 Very cool --- but there is a catch

Pros: I knew this headset was coming and waited for the announcement. I finally have it and after 2 days, it does what the video says it will do for suppressing noise

Cons: These are minor (so far): 1) there is an faintly audible whine from the unit that you can hear in a quiet room 2) It is slower than former headset at announcing new calls.

Other Thoughts: Still better than many I have tried and I am looking for places where I can test the noise suppression. Walked in a windy area and was told that my voice was hearable.

Rating + 4 an earful

Pros: noise suppression actually works
usb charger, usb cable to charge via laptops etc., upgradeable firmware, firmware that IS new and improved from blueant, teensy-weensy size very cool looking not like a piece of a jewellery at all (for a guy that's cool!)

Cons: it is an earful. You have to have a bigger ear canal to fit this sucker.
not very nice if you are a left-eared person, the ear hook flips but the buttons are now at the bottom.

Other Thoughts: Switching voice isolation modes comes with a voice announcement. While its cool, it momentarily cuts off the sound so you cant hear the caller.
