Just the right size for big monitor
Pros: Good quality, smooth install & works great on Vista system with Photoshop, Lightroom, Autodesk SketchBook Pro 2009, among other apps.
Cons: The touch strip location makes it too easy to activate it accidentally by running hand over it. Being right handed, I had to deactivate the right one. I haven't found much use for the included mouse.
Other Thoughts: I use a 30" widescreen at 2560x1600 resolution for photo editing mostly and this is just the right size form my big moniitor. I wouldn't want to go any smaller.

Perfect Size
Pros: I've got to hand it to Wacom. Don't know how they make such a good product and never really seem to disappoint. The 6x8 area of the tablet is perfect for pretty much any use. I don't honestly see why you'd need more space, other than if you're doing extreme detail work. But for mid-level graphic design, illustration, photo-retouching, pretty much anything, this sizeable tablet is indispensible. Pen is a lot more sturdy than my old Wacom tablet, with the nice addition of a grip. The unit is plug-and-play, and works right out of the box. The additional software is nice too. Already have Photoshop CS3, but the Corel painter essentials was a nice touch, it's pretty handy software for illustration. (and admittedly very fun to just play around with.) No loss of synchronization, no lag. Customizable buttons are a VERY handy tool (Got one button set to open up Photoshop, one button is Ctrl-Z, one button is Print-Screen, etc).
Cons: Absolutely none.
Other Thoughts: You will need to install the driver disc to get the full use of the tablet when using Photoshop or Corel, but even just plugging it in lets you use the mouse or pen to navigate and click objects.

Functional And FUN!!
Pros: Works great vista took this thing like it was made for it. Fun to play with and works great for photo editing. Comes with a stylus and a mouse. The tablet recognizes the difference between the pen and the mouse. The mouse is just like your using it on a mouse pad and the pens curser goes to were ever you place the pen on the tablet
Cons: Getting used to the pen and writing with it.
Other Thoughts: If your profession has anything to do with editing media the free hand tools in this product are un comparable to anything else. If you need a tablet this is the one it get.

Excellent product
Pros: WACOM is a brand that you can trust. I was concerned by the 6"X8" size being too small, however I don't think I would want anything larger. There are a couple of different uses for this pad. I see someone with carpal tunnel being able to enjoy using a computer using this product. I mainly use it for free hand art work but tend to revert back to my old mouse for the point to point clicking.
Cons: None whatsoever
Other Thoughts: I purchased this size because I did a lot of research and many people regretted getting larger ones. I can say that I am happy with this one. I've heard some poor reviews regarding the included mouse. I never used it so can't comment. I have the tablet plugged in and my Logitech mouse plugged in. They don't conflict with each other unless the pen is in contact with the tablet. If the pen is in contact with the tablet the mouse is unusable but the pen seems to work. I am still a mouse guy but love this tablet. Newegg's shipping and cutsomer support rocks as usual.

Unlimited potential
Pros: - 6x8 is perfect size - a little more than a year of use and it works just as good as the day i received it - sleek product design - ambidextrous use with out reprogramming
Cons: - if i have to say something bad about it, it would have to be the price & the cord... i hate cords
Other Thoughts: With the right software and any little bit of artistic knowledge, the tablet can unleash the creativity within. the tablet's potential is limited only by what you can come up with. 6x8 is the ideal size in my opinion. i also own a 9x12 and the stroke seems a little less natural and a little too exaggerated for comfort. if you are torn between sizes i say go with the 6x8, but this is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

A must have
Pros: Solid hardware, very responsive and extremely accurate. The touch keys can be reassigned to anything you want, including "Cntrl Z" which I use a zillion times. It fits perfect on my desk. Its about the size of the bottom half of a notebook pc. The pen feels great. I can't say anything bad about this product. It is a must have for the serious designer or artist. Makes Illustrator and Photoshop so much more fun to use. No more mouse drawing for me!
Cons: That it doesn't replace my girlfriend.
Other Thoughts: For the price, you simply can not beat it. I actually ordered this from my Academic website due to a small price difference, but newegg is definitely the lowest price you can get unless you have some kind of company/academic discount. It's smooth and the zoom slider and hotkeys are perfect. I can't stress how happy i am with this product.

What you pay is what you get!
Pros: I have owned this tablet for more than 3 years, and to the record this is the only item I have bought that's cost effective. I use this tablet with Corel Painter X and I love the sensitivity transfering from the pencil (stylus) to the media (Painter). I wish I had the money to by the bigger ones or the one that you can draw (literaly) on it; but I am more than happy with it.
Cons: Price hasn't change that much (correct me if I am wrong) since I bought this item. But then again ...(see title).
Other Thoughts: Yes the strip on both top sides can be anoying specialy if you are working on the top side of the drawing pad. However there are some solutions to it: 1- You can disable them. 2- Change functionality. 3- Input only with the pen. Or 4- Input by tapping.

Gave it a shot, Never looking back
Pros: Very easy to use. Includes a few stylus tips / mouse. A nice fairly large area to work with, its not too big nor is it too small. Very Precise! I was surprized by the level of accuracy you can achieve with this thing...and the pressure sensitivity is great!
Cons: On both the upper corners between the buttons and the drawing surface is a touch sensitive "scroll" area. I notice that if I'm working on the upper right corner of the active area sometimes my hand brushing by it will activate the scroll feature. Slight nuisance, not enough to think the pad is bad in any way.
Other Thoughts: I took a sock and cut the bottom off (where the toes go) and essentually wear it around my hand so that I've got a nice dry surface that glides nicely while I draw. Since working with it for any length of time you can start sticking to it a lil bit (the tablet does warm up a bit). The sock not only makes me feel like a rock star, but also serves a 3rd purpose of keeping the surface clean!

Great product, HORRIBLE mailing
Pros: Great great instrument for drawing. I use this constantly at school for concept art and general graphic design. The intuos 3 reigns over all the other versions of Wacom tablets. I recommend it to anyone that is in special effects, design, game art design, animation, and anything really that focuses on computers to do the designing.
Cons: Nothing, maybe that the surface scratches when drawing on it...
Other Thoughts: Put a sheet of paper over the tablet to have more control and grip when drawing. This is all preference though.
Newegg shipped me Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock instead of the tablet which ticked me off but will refund me free of charge. Also, UPS keeps failing at delivering to the right address, which all ticked me off.

works out of box
Pros: Arrived in pristine condition. Worked right out of box on PowerMac G4 running OS X 10.3.9 works well with several visual programs. Very precise compared to other brands I've personally used.
Cons: Price. but you get what you pay for =)
Other Thoughts: Bought this for my wife to use in her graphic design/animation classes and work. This is the same tablet that is used in some of her classes. the tablets used in her classes show little signs of wear with high volumes of people using them, hope ours works the same =)

WACOM Intuos3 6"x8" USB Tablet
Pros: Stylus acts as mouse Hardware installed with ease 6x8" workspace is surprisingly large Great for illustration, photo editing, graphic applications
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: Before buying this tablet, I read reviews here from other owners. It's been over 2 years since I've invested in this one and I'm quite happy to say that the overall experience with it from my initial purchase to my use as a graphic designer and illustrator.

Excellent Purchase
Pros: This is my first graphical tablet. So far I am very happy with it. It seems well constructed and the pen has multiple tips, although so far I've only used the one it came equiped with. The software it comes bundled with is very nice. I am currently experimenting with corel painter essentials.
Cons: I wish I would have bought one sooner. It's well worth the money.
Other Thoughts: I ordered it on a tuesday and it arrived friday afternoon. It came well packed and in perfect condition. So far, Newegg has never disappointed me.

A wonderful tablet
Pros: This is an excellent tablet, well worth the money. WACOM tablets cost a bit more, but you get what you pay for. The tablet is very precise and well made. Durable, reliable, and accurate.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I have an Intous3 at the office and an older intous2 at home. Both are wonderful tablets, but the pen and the mouse on the Intous3 are definitely an improvement over the Intous2. They both seem much more durable and stable. WACOM tablets are a lasting investment. I've used one daily for 10 years now and I've never had to replace a tablet due to technical issues.

Pros: Functions perfectly. This is essential for graphic design and integrates perfectly with Adobe Master Collection products, especially Photoshop. I'm a digital photographer and I also design T-shirts; what I do just got a whole lot easier.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
Other Thoughts: I only wish I had more space on my desk for this bad boy. You will need arm room unless you intend on using it in your lap like a notepad.

Best Tablet around
Pros: Perfect size (for me, and for most people.) The 4x5 is too small, the 9x12 is too big. Pressure sensitivity is awesome. The pen is really comfortable, which is a huge plus when you're using it for hours. Twice as good as the Graphire, and it's very noticable.
Cons: Sometimes my hand sticks to the area outside the drawing surface. Usually only when I'm warm though. This isn't a huge deal, but it'd be nice if they changed this in the future. Installing new drivers is a pain... it wipes out all your old settings for the buttons and sliders.
Other Thoughts: I never even use the mouse... it's still in the box.

Wacom makes the best no doubt
Pros: I use my friend's tablet, and this thing muuuch bigger than I thought it'd be. -other thoughts
Cons: Doesn't make you a better drawer, duh!
Other Thoughts: I own a graphire3 from years back, but this intuos is a really nice upgrade from the graphire series..
First off, it's better built, and feels a lot more fluid(natural). Second off, it has a much nicer texture, compared to the clear-plastic on my graphire3.
A really nice tablet overall.. I wouldn't mind settling for the 4x6" version.

One of the best things for photoshop
Pros: This is one of the best things that I've spent my money on. Makes things so much easier on photoshop rather than using a mouse. The pressure sensibility is nice also. It only took me a day to get used to. I love it

Best tablet you'll ever use
Pros: This baby can make anybody a digital painting pro. Although I can sketch in pencil very well, I can't paint for beans in real life. With Photoshop and this sucker at my side, however, you'd think I was a seasoned digital art professional. Wow! Easy to use and easy to fall in love with.
Cons: I wouldn't bother with the software it comes with...

Really good buy
Pros: As has been written before this thing has totally changed what I can do in Photoshop and illustrator. Takes some getting used to but a little patience more than pays off. When I first started using it just moving the cursor around without selecting anything was sooo cool. Really makes me feel like I'm doing artwork again.
Cons: no case for the nibs. None of the tutorials are performed my Jessica Biel.
Other Thoughts: Really good investment if you are in the visual communications/arts field.

Excellent Tablet
Pros: VERY nice tablet, I've had this for over two years now, and It's yet to fail me. Good drivers that allow customization of the pen, mouse, and 6 tablet buttons, including for individual commands in individual programs. The pen has two pressure sensitive tips (pen tip, and eraser). The pad itself has almost no wear on it after frequent use. Overall this is the best tablet I've ever used, and using it comes only second to using a tablet monitor (though I prefer this more than direct to screen most of the time).
Cons: Pen eraser seems a bit loose but I'm pretty sure its supposed to be like that, you get used to it after a few hours of using it.
Other Thoughts: Try not to lose your bag of pen replacement tips (though you won't need them for quite a while).

So Much Awesomeness
Pros: This tablet is excellent! Some people might tell you that the pad on which you draw combined with the pen tip leads to difficulty drawing (slippery surface) but I had no issues adjusting to it. The pen has an eraser on the flip side so programs like Corel Painter will switch to an eraser brush when you flip the pen over. Also, the pen has gyroscopes in it or something because if you use a brush in Painter, it can tell which direction the pen is facing.
Cons: One minor issue that I had is that the drawing pad began "peeling" within days of use. That is, I would be drawing, palm slightly sweaty, and when I moved my right hand I noticed that the pad stuck to it. The pad doesn't come off completely, it's bound very well at the top but like I said, with the right suction, it peels up. I called Wacom and they assured me that this is supposed to happen, kinda. Apparently, the pad wears out after lots of usage so they make it semi-easy to remove/replace. They recommended using tape to keep it from peeling if it becomes irritating. I've been using it every day since and it actually hasn't happened again (without applying tape).
Other Thoughts: Like the others, I would love to see this thing released w/o the mouse and all of the bundled software.
Corel Painter is an AWESOME program to use with this pad.

Still Kickin It after all these years
Pros: Great seamless interfacing with Adobe software. Great setup software for customizing to your preferences. Looks good. Lasts forever.
Cons: If I had to do it again I'd go bigger than 6x8. Good enough for most everything but if you're an occasional gamer you might want a wider version
Other Thoughts: I have the Intuos 2. I've had it for almost 7 years now. Except for my mouse being worn to a glossy sheen from daily use this product looks and works like new. Even the felt bottom on the mouse has stood the test of time and crunk. This is the only 'expensive' computer peripheral that I've gotten more than my money's worth out of. I'm a graphic designer. If you do design and dont have this tablet you are selling yourself short.

Nice
Pros: Seems like it's basically the best available by leaps and bounds.
Cons: I would love to see an OEM version of this tablet. I already own the entire CS2, why would I want to pay for Elements? I own Painter, etc. The mouse is terrible.
Other Thoughts: It often boggles my mind how products can be so "off" for so many years. Why include a mouse? Who seriosly needs a junk mouse with your ultra-highend tablet? Ummm, I guess mostly I'm just complaining about wasteful bundling: The mouse and the software are just entirely superfluos to me.

A legitimate replacemet for mouse
Pros: Highly customizable software interface allows you to program side keys to ANY configuration, shortcut, etc. The pressure sensitivity is great to play with, tablet is highly accurate, the profile allows you to tuck it beneath your keyboard and you can rest your hands on it when not drawing.
Cons: The finger slider area is a bit hyper-sensitive, the plastic face scratches FAR too easily, sometimes you get "sweaty" and the tablet needs a good cleaning, and Wacom should bump the price slightly and just include the carrying case.
Other Thoughts: I'm ruined...it's time to buy another one for my computer at home. Mice have their uses, but when you have RSIs like me, sometimes you simply HAVE to change your input method for things like AutoCAD. If you're considering an all-purpose tablet, this is the largest you should get, anything more would eat your desktop! Highly recommend Wacom and they are very polite on the tech support line!

Good size, good accuracy
Pros: Very sensitive to pressure differences, quality pen included
Cons: plastic surface scratches FAR too easily, my installation of Windows XP is having trouble with the tablet driver
Other Thoughts: After 1 hour of use the grey surface that covers the drafting area de-bonded and peeled away. I am sending it in for replacement and hope to get another one of these amazing tablets shortly.

Changed our Business
Pros: This product literally changed our business, more specifically our creation process. Design work that previously had to be painted with oil on canvas and then photographed is now being done in photoshop with the tablet. Many painters and other professional artists despise the idea of painting or drawing with a mouse, this was the answer to our problem.
Cons: The Felt tips are very, very hard to find. Apparently they are the most popular nib for wacom tablets and they are backordered everywhere.
Other Thoughts: Lifelong customer of newegg!

everything I expected and more
Pros: Absolutely a dream with Photoshop. It's much easier to manipulate the tools than with a mouse, not to mention the pen gives you pressure sensitivity with some of the tools. Until I got my tablet I didn't even know that Photoshop (7) had that capability.
Cons: None so far (purchased 6/'06). But I bought direct from Wacom and paid a little bit more.
Other Thoughts: I've stopped using mice altogether; I don't even have one plugged into my tower anymore, and I rarely touch the mouse that came with the tablet. I can do everything faster/easier/better with the pen/tablet combo. As for the extra nibs, they came banded together so I took a small piece of tape and taped them to the side of the pen stand. Not ideal, but it works fine. Overall, this is the best investment I have made when it comes to stuff for my computer.

Pros: The tablet is great, it does everything it's supposed to and more. I would reccommend it to any computer artist, beginner or advanced.
Cons: It doesn't come with a cover, but a case can be ordered for it.

Great Product
Pros: The biggest pro was Newegg's efficiency. The tablet was shipped around 3 hours after I ordered it. I opted for UPS next-day, because I was excited about getting my tablet. I don't understand UPS's logistics though. The tablet went from Memphis, TN to Little Rock to Louisville to south GA and then finally to northwest GA where I'm located. It did it all in one day so I'm not complaining. The tablet is awesome. I spent the entire evening yesterday getting used to it though. I've never used a tablet before so it was different. It is better than I anticipated though. One thing that will surprise you about this tablet is how much better it looks in person. The pictures of the Wacom do not do it justice. It's beautiful. It's also very solid. You can see and feel the quality of this thing.
Cons: If I had to search for something to gripe about it would be that there is no place for me to store the extra nibs that came with the pen. Maybe there is and I just haven't found it yet. Nibs are tiny and would be very easy to lose. Also, like others have mentioned, there needs to be a pen holder on the tablet itself. The pen holder that comes with the tablet is nice and solid but I'd prefer it be attached to the tablet.
Other Thoughts: When I was shopping for a tablet, I thought I would need a bigger area than the 6x8. I also thought I may come out better if I bought a cheaper brand. I read all the reviews and decided on this tablet. I'm very glad I did. The 6x8 is plenty big enough. I use it on a 21" monitor and it feels perfect. This was a big worry of mine when I was shopping. About two years ago I bought another brand of tablet because it was cheap. It was also a refurb. It didn't work at all like it should. Believe everyone when they tell you that you should get a Wacom. This tablet is solid. It's built very well. Nothing about it feels cheap. You get what you pay for and when it comes to tablets, buy Wacom or don't buy a tablet period.

A Graphic Designer's Dream
Pros: Sturdy construction, excellent pressure sensitivity levels and plenty big enough for sweeping line work.
Cons: None with the device really, but see my "Other thoughts".
Other Thoughts: I do a lot of freelance design work, and I'm kicking myself for not having picked up a tablet sooner. As other reviewers have said, this will really revolutionize your work, even if you have modicum of drawing skill.
That said, don't expect your drawing skills to instantly translate to the digital realm. It takes a bit of practice to get used to the different tactile/eye-hand coordination nature of this tablet. Stick with it, though, and it will soon feel completely natural. For myself, I went back to the basics and ran through some standard drawing exercises for a few days to get used to it.

No vista driver as of yet
Pros: Big enough for my work, accurate
Cons: Well.. no vista driver. So im only using it on my work computer as of now.
Other Thoughts: So I bought a wacom tablet because wacom has recently been promoting that it works with vista, right? Its on their front page and everything. So I get home, go to the wacom website to get the driver.. and dont you know, they dont have a driver for THIS particular tablet. So its useless to me. But its good quality otherwise.. I guess..

Excellent product!
Pros: Well, it's got a sleek design, a comfortable stylus, and a very workable active area. Overall, I've been very impressed while using this product for my various hobbies and work.
Cons: The tablet itself, due to it's glossy surface, can get dirty or scratched if you're not careful. Also, I've noticed, while using the stylus, that the thumb button can get in the way at times (and even cause adverse things if you have either of the buttons set to functions in your respective art programs). Personally I find those cons to be hardly detracting from the overall finesse and excellence of this product.

Excellent for any graphics manipulation
Pros: This tablet is the perfect size for most operations, and has a redefinable input area. Because the pen is pressure sensitive, that already places it much higher than a mouse for any graphical text. Not only does the tablet come with software, it automatically integrates and has special features with most graphics manipulation programs (I use GIMP and OpenCanvas usually). The pen can also be used as a mouse would be for other programs.
Cons: The definable sidekeys and scrolls may get in the way sometimes, but these can be disabled. Also, the DEFAULT settings map the whole desktop to the whole tablet, so to move from one end of the desktop to the other, you must make a sweeping movement across the tablet. THIS CAN BE REDEFINED HOWEVER.
Other Thoughts: The Intuos3 comes with its own mouse, but because the pen can be used as a mouse as well, I see no use for it. This pen is quite natural to use (it took me less than an hour to become accustomed to it) and has a two-way button that can be customized for ease of use.

legendary quality
Pros: Being a sketch artists by nature I wasn't expecting this level of sensitivity and physical space! This beats the socks of drawing with any mouse, hands down. A sleek design and lots of customization options make this tablet a winner on many levels. I only had it for a few days now and I'm happy to say I have no problems with it! I'm greatly impressed!
Cons: The mouse is pretty useless, if only I could trade it in for a airbrush or a extra stylus. My only other complaint was its size. Its not really a bad thing; I just thought it would be less bulky, heh.
Other Thoughts: I've ben told digital writing tablets have a steep learning curve. Personally I think its rather easy to use, it really is like you're writing on paper. You just need to train yourself to look at the monitor while drawing. After that it becomes a fun-filled cake walk. As usual, newegg comes through quickly and safely with the shipping!

Awesomeness
Pros: I am a student of Illustration, with background in Graphic design. I must say that this tool has expanded my horizons in ways not possible with a simple mouse... If you can afford it, get it. This size is perfect! It doesn't take long at all to get used to.. Very good job, Wacom.
Cons: None. I third the mouse motion. Noone uses it, but it makes a nice paperweight!
Other Thoughts: Perhaps Wacom could replace the mouse with a secondary pen. I would like to see a pen/attachment with a chisel tip, similar to that on a Prismacolor marker. Emulation of traditional tools would be great. A set of digital paintrburshes would go well with Corel Painter.

The Best, and then some...
Pros: When it comes to Illustrator and Photoshop, don't even try it without a Wacom tablet. To say these devices are 4 to 10 times faster than a mouse isn't complete since there's so much you can't do w/ a mouse. The pen is natural and incredibly intuitive. ME? 25 years in commercial art.
Cons: None: don't be put off by the newness, the transformation to using these devices will revolutionize your work. Oh, yes, Wacom still includes a mouse. Funny, nobody uses it.
Other Thoughts: A 4 to 3 aspect display needs a 4 to 3 aspect tablet. If your display is widescreen, get a widescreen tablet. 6"x8" is fine for up to a 21" display. Being able to FEEL your brushes and the WEIGHT of the file brings the artist closer to the composition than you can imagine. These things rock!

You get what you pay for... really!
Pros: A very sensitive tablet which works well with Adobe and Corel products. Perfect size active area for working on graphics. Also very stylish.
Cons: A bit bulky (overall). The mouse is really not needed (for me at least). Also a bit pricey. Minor compatiblity issues with MX1000 mouse.
Other Thoughts: I had first bought an economy tablet (not carried by Newegg anymore) and had become frustrated with it. This one blew it out of the water. The tablet sensitivity is outstanding, and no issues with graphics software. Slight problem while using an MX1000 mouse, but reinstalled software for both and it seems okay now. I would highly recommend this tablet for anyone that can afford it. It's about as big as I would go, unless you have good amount of workspace to get one of the larger tablets.

Very Impressed... with the tablet and newegg.
Pros: I owned a 12x12 Intuos. It was much too big for me, so I never used it and eventually sold it. The 6x8 size of this tablet is perfect for my grahpic design, 3D and Photoshop work, and probably would be for most other people. The scroll pads are fantastic and this is already becoming familiar to me, and easy to use after only a day. This gets my highest recommendation.
Cons: If you have never used a tablet before, this will take some getting used to. If you find that the cursor moves too slow, or you have to move your arm too much for your comfort, you can resize the active area of the tablet. If your drawing style is large bold strokes, you may want to consider a larger tablet, also if you use dual monitors, you might consider the 6"x11" Intuos 3.
Other Thoughts: As usual, delivery was prompt and in perfect condition. The price was the lowest I have found, even before the $10 rebate, so newegg.com gets a high rating from me again.

Awesome!
Pros: This is great with enough space to do anything one could want to do in photoshop. I use it for freehand and 3d galaxy renders! works fantastic!
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: dont do smaller than this unless all your doing is minor photo retouching

Excellent Investment
Pros: For those in graphic design, digital painting, or other forms of computer graphics this is an essential tool. Once you adjust to looking at the screen instead of the pad while you draw, the rest is cake. The pressure sensitivity on this is wonderful, and a noticeable improvement from the graphire series. The side buttons are very useful, and while I have yet to really find a use for the touch-strips in any other application besides photoshop, they work well, also. The build quality is top notch.
Cons: There are very few cons.
The biggest problem I had in buying it was getting enough money to afford it. It _is_ expensive. But I think its worth it.
Occasionally on painting the upper left (I'm left handed) portion of the surface area my hand might hit the touchstrip. Nothing a minor tilt of the hand doesn't fix. Also the mouse works regardless of how its oriented. So if you have the mouse pointed sideways and move it, it works as if the mouse were pointed up always. It doesn't sound like much (if I described it correctly) but it is odd at first.
Other Thoughts: Newegg got it to me exactly when they said they would. I've noticed that for the items I've purchased recently, they hang around at "stage 3" for a while. But they still got this out the door very fast.

AWESOME!
Pros: Excellent! It seemed like it would've been smaller but the area is ginormous!
I use it as my mouse too. Great for gaming also!
Cons: None. Newegg shipped it fast as always.
Other Thoughts: When you flip the tablet to use it as a mousepad(vertical mode), the Scroll Touchpad is in the way so make sure to disable that before you venture further into using this as a mouse replacement because you WILL accidentally hit it and it gets annoying.

Love it.
Pros: If you are already a talented drawer/sketcher, you will get the hang of this tool in about 10 minutes. The learning curve was extremely fast. Also this model recognizes the pen at a pretty good distance, which was one of the factors that made me choose this over the Graphire series.
Cons: It is expensive. Also, the Graphire series is much cheaper and can achieve very similar results.

Just stay away from refurbs
Pros: Nice size, love the quick launch and zoom sliders.
Cons: I bought a refurb directly from Wacom and it's warped. I'm returning it and buying a new one from NewEgg. Customer service has been less than perfect. They are stating the tablet might be within specs, with a NOTICABLE dip in the tablet portion. Right.

Simply Amazing
Pros: The amount of time that I saved retouching and restoring photos after switching to the Wacom tablet (from a mouse) is truly incredible. Its hard to explain how easy it is to use this tool. I had about a 4 hour learning curve before it felt like I had been using it for years. The additional programable buttons and slider are great. I have to use the keyboard very little for photoshop now.
Cons: The worst thing about this product is that it makes you unable to use a mouse at a friends how to show him/her how to do something cool in photoshop.

coolest thing ever
Pros: wow, this is literally the coolest thing i have ever bought. the tablet keys and touch strips are amazing, the functions of the pen are amazing,...the whole thing is just incredible.
Cons: however, i ordered through ups, which i will never do again. i got the "three day select" shipping when i ordered it last tuesday. newegg did their part and got it out the door within hours, but when i would check the shipping progress online, i noticed that it just sat in salt lake for five days. i could understand a one day delay, what with thursday being thanksgiving, but three extra days on the shipping is just unacceptable to me. so if you're going to buy it, spend the extra two dollars for fedex. otherwise, awesome product.

4.5
Comments: I would recommend the Intuos3 to anyone who's looking for a high quality tablet. The 6 x 8 size is just right. Pressure sensitivity and overall control is great. This is the best tool an artist or Photoshop user can get. For those who have never used a drawing tablet before, don't be discouraged if it takes a week to feel comfortable using it. Everyone is accustomed to using a mouse, but writing with a pen will never be unnatural, and you will quickly realize what a good investment this piece is. It'll make you wonder how you ever got along without it, and you may even ditch your mouse altogether, although the included optics/ball/wire free mouse is surprisingly good. Also, the fully customizable buttons are a nice bonus, but I would rather have them laid out across the top. As a southpaw, I have to keep the left buttons disabled because I can't draw in the top left corner without pressing them all. There are too many pros to list, so I'll just say that all the praise it gets from the other reviewers is well deserved. Complaints: button placement, dark colored (most pencil-like) nib is wearing down after only 3 months, the drawing surface is a bit too slick, and it's pricey, although NewEgg has the best price and light speed shipping. Overall this has been a great investment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Prime time for a tablet!
Comments: The Wacom tablet has great sensitivity, feels sturdy, is left- or right-handed, and both the pen and mouse work great! But the real victory is in the INCREDIBLE ADJUSTABILITY. First, you can set the buttons to do anything--mode changes like CTRL, keystrokes, clicks, etc. Second, you can set the sensitivity, even the curve of the sensitivity (linear, exponential, etc., like you would an RGB curve in AfterEffects, say). Third, and VITAL!! to making this more than just a drawing tool, you can adjust settings independently for any and every piece of software you use. Overkill? No! Because of this, for example, only for Internet Explorer you can choose to use the bottom right corner, say about a 5x4 square, of the pad to map to the whole screen and set the pen buttons for Click and Alt-BackArrow, thus browsing with out even moving your hand. But as soon as you go back to a graphics app, presto, it's back to a one-to-one mapping and brush/mask-related button settings. Wow! Easy to set up, too, and easy installation. Software worked great on Windows2000Pro. Speaking of which, PhotoShop Elements 3.0 is huge, still didn't crash on an old system, but does layers, REAL red-eye reduction, gradients, typefaces,... It isn't that far behind the professional PhotoShop--if you are a beginner, you can feel proud to master Elements and save the $$$ for later.
One SMALL NEGATIVE: Wacom's website is very weak, and they give you a 15% discount but won't send you a thing if your credit card bills to a PO box. But, you were going to buy from Newegg anyway!!

Comments: Fast shipping as usual. Great device. My best upgrade since dual monitors. I used to work with Logitech MX 1000 mouse and apart from obvious advantage of a pen over a mouse Wacom has better resolution. I work mostly in Photoshop and I don't think I could live with a smaller one. In fact if you have dual monitors I'd probably recommend 9x12. The 8x6 tablet is pretty big though so you need to have table space. It's actual size is like 10x13"

Fantastic Product - The Standard in Drawing Tablets
Comments: Wacom is the standard to meet in drawing tablets. I purchased this for an online art class (Digital Image Manipulation), and the tablet worked perfect. The size was just what I was looking for. Any larger would have been overkill for my use. I previously has used a Graphire tablet, and the drawing surface of this is what caught me by surprise. The Graphire tablet had a hard plastic covering, making it very slick to write on with the stylus. The surface of this tablet has a rubbery feel, creating just enough friction to make it feel as though you were actually using an ink pen on paper. The buttons, which can be fully customized, are a welcome addition, and would definitely increase productivity if I used it more. If you are in need of a drawing tablet, spend the extra $100 and buy the intuos rather than the Graphire. You won't be disappointed.
Newegg is of course, the only place I shop. Outstanding site, outstanding products, outstanding service. Nothing beats Newegg. Period.

Comments: i bought this tablet for myself. for my birthday. i have used it everday 8-10 hours at a time... for 5 months. in a word its by far the best tablet ive used the customizable buttons alone are worth thier weight in gold. even with a dual 19" monitor setup you can configure the tablet to only use a percentage of your resolution. miles and i mean miles above thier previous tablets.

Great Product=Great Investment
Comments: I am a student studying under graphic design. One thing i assure you about this tablet is: this product is amazing. Programs such as Adobe's Photoshop, Illustrator, Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Flash, and very importantly Corel's Painter are programs that can help make any designer's visual ideas come into life. The Intuos3 tablets enhances your work perhaps 1000 times more. How so? Work the traditional way but digitally. Paint using a digital pen to make you feel as if you're doing it by hand. Pressure sentitive and way other features makes it more natural, easier, and much more comfortable than the mouse.Extra keys, a touch panel for zoom in and out, faster access, and even more makes it much better from an aleady excellent equipment. I am a designer, also an illustrator, and let me tell you: my work has been significantly improved thanks to this tablet. The tablet may be expensive, but the work you'll be producing with the tablet are priceless. I was being skeptical at first because of the money, but believe me, if you are a serious designer, artist, or even a photographer or web designer, gett his product for your own good.
