Great TV all around the board
Pros: I'm using this TV for gaming, blu-ray movies, and also as a computer monitor. It's handled everything I've thrown at it without a single problem. The picture quality is crisp, clear, and smooth. The frame, button layout, and stand for the TV are all well designed and look fantastic.
Also cool is the "audio only" option in the menu for turning off the flat panel when listening to music. I listen to a lot of music using my home theater system so this is a nice thing to have that I wasn't even expecting to see.
Cons: I wouldn't write home about the quality of the speakers, but it's not a detractor for me as I wasn't planning on using the built in speakers in the first place.
On another note, I do wish you could actually write your own labels for the different inputs rather than choosing from a list of pre-set labels. Deviced hooked up via HDMI will try and detect the device and automatically change the channel label, but that's ONLY after the device is turned on and you've already switched to the proper input for the device. This is a very minor gripe however, and does not detract from the quality of the set.
There is very, very slight ghosting, but it is only noticeable when playing extremely fast paced games such as first person shooters. Even so, it's hardly noticeable at all and as such does not effect gameplay.
Other Thoughts: I've read a few complaints saying that this TV does not work well as a computer monitor, which I have to disagree with. I have my main computer hooked up to this set using a DVI-HDMI converter and it is currently running flawlessly in 1080p; no blur to speak of whatsoever, and no need to make adjustments to ClearType in Windows. Now, I DID have to make adjustments to the DPI settings in Windows in order to be able to read the text at a distance, but that has nothing to do with the TV itself, but is rather due to the distance of my couch from the TV. At closer range, normal DPI settings are perfectly adequate.
If you're thinking about using this as a computer monitor, I'd highly recommend using a DVI-HDMI converter so that you can get full 1080p, or straight HDMI if your video card has one.

Great TV but not as good as a monitor.
Pros: Excellent Picture quality. Wide variety of options. Adjustable lighting or OPC. Sound is fine for TV speakers as well. 120hz. No Motion blurring in games when I use this as a monitor.
Cons: As a Computer monitor, it's not as good. I've tried messing around with various settings both on the TV and Win7's ClearType Text tool to reduce blurriness of text but even after many modifications text is still slightly blurred when operating as a monitor in practically all view modes(stretches, dot by dot, zoom). Also in case you're wondering, it wasn't always like this. For some reason it changed after the first couple weeks, the text was actually 100% clear at 1920x1080, but then after changing inputs and so on, it became what it was now. Also using HDMI connection to connect from my computer to this TV.
Other Thoughts: I bought this elsewhere. Still it's an excellent TV. Aside from my gripe about it's text and visibility/blur as a monitor, it's still quite worth getting.

It's not a monitor
Pros: Good price for full HD TV.
Cons: I never used it as a TV, but if you consider using it as a monitor - don't buy it. Simple test - in the pixels to pixel mode try to draw horizontal and vertical GRAY (not black) one pixel thin line - you will see everything. It's because of the pixels alignment of the panel and their size. Analog RGB input doesn't support full HD. With digital input in the pixel to pixel mode full HD picture covers around 80% of the screen.

Superb Quality
Pros: This is one of the most beautiful TV's ever seen. The picture quality is astounding in 1080p, there is absolutely zero ghosting or image tearing/streaking, the 120hz refresh rate with 4ms response works perfectly with high motion video and gaming. Even regular def TV on this looks way better than the majority of HDTVs.
When viewing a video source under 1080P you have many options on how to display the video whether you box it for pixel by pixel playback, zoom it for it to fill the screen and keep the aspect ratio, stretch it where it changes the aspect ratio to fit 16:9 resulting in somewhat noticeably different people and finally smart stretch that allows you to watch 4:3 video full screen and look very good and not have the stretched out people look.
The speakers are also surprisingly good for 20W internal to the TV.
Cons: It takes a few seconds to turn on after you hit power.
... and well that's really about all I can think of.
Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy this TV again, I'm so glad I bought it. This is my first HDTV that I waited 3 years to finally have a Sharp Aquos over 37" with very fast response and refresh rate and still pay under $1000.
There is no better quality than the Sharp Aquos line, don't skip on spending an extra $100-200 and get something cheaper, the quality differences are night and day.

Nice
Pros: I love it. Picture looks good from any angle.
Shipping was great, they called me and were right on time. Bravo to those guys.
Cons: Murphys law: Price dropped significantly a week after I bought it.
PC connected through HDMI is so so. but such is the nature of a HDTV panel vs. an Active Matrix computer panel.
Other Thoughts: To the guy asking about the "illumination": They are referring to the gold color along the bottom bezel...LOL
Hope you are enjoying your TV as much as I am mine.

Sharp Aquos LC-4077U Review
Pros: *Excellent packaging *Zero dead pixels *Very light compared to my Sony XBR 37" CRT TV *Default settings resulted in excellent picture out of the box *Excellent product finish with quality workmanship *Setup with Sharp BD-HP16U BlueRay Player and Sharp Sound Bar was flawless and uneventful *Entire system runs cool in air-ventilated Almoire enclosure *NewEgg ground shipping service from LAX PHX frontdoor was perfect and on time.
Cons: *See "Other thoughts"
Other Thoughts: In all of the photographs of this and other similar Sharp Aquos LC-E77U models, there is wording used that aludes to a picture frame illumination of "bronze" or "champaign" color along the bottom. My particular set does not have this alluded to illumination. Is there a menu option for tuning it on, or is my set defective?

Simple and Great!!!
Pros: Picture Quality for an LCD is superb. Vast array of tweaking options for those of us that like to optimize picture quality, however presets are quite sufficient for the average user. The OPC light sensor works fast and efficiently. Great contrast as well. 120Hz processing.
Cons: None to remove an egg.
Other Thoughts: Although the OPC works well, it is very annoying after a while and most will turn it off. Have Xbox360, DirecTV HD, and PC all connected through HDMI and they all look fantastic. Cant really notice the 120Hz difference, even when watching sports.

Great HDTV!!
Pros: Awesome picture with BlueRay. PS3 games look phenomenal! I highly recommend this TV for PS3 and blueray use.
Cons: Some tweaking of course, but that isnt uncommon for LCD HDTVs.
