it works
Pros: nice TV, at 50" you don't need 1080p unless you are sitting 2 feet from the screen. quick and easy ship. Mounted in a hurry looks great. I'm using this in the rec room and it fills the bill perfectly.
Cons: it hangs on the wall and displays television pictures. It does not wash dishes or clean the house. I think it's lazy!
Other Thoughts: Newegg rocks!

Great TV
Pros: As others have stated, great TV. Also great price. I don't spend every waking moment watching TV so 720p is just fine for me. I like the vivid picture setting. On some live sports stuff you need to dial it down some. Sound seems fine to me. I have really been impressed.
Cons: Again, as others have stated, the only audio out option is optical so if you have an older surround receiver you will not be able to run the sound out to it.

WOW!!
Pros: Excellent picture with very little initial tweeking needed. I have had this TV for 2 weeks & the picture has only gotten better & better. Easy set-up & controls. Did I mention the excellent picture?!? Absolutely no complaints here so far.
Cons: The only con for me is that I waited so long to pull the trigger on this deal.
Other Thoughts: Excellent service & delivery from Newegg. I have spent the better part of a year doing my homework about the new TV's. Comparing many models, sizes,& resolutions just about drove me nuts, but I kept coming back to this TV. My big fear was that I would be sorry I chose 720p instead of 1080p. Fear not, folks! The reviews of this unit are right on the money when they say that there just is NOT a very big difference from 1080p. Save yourself some money...you wont regret it!

Rad.
Pros: 50" TV cheaper than you can get in stores (when it goe on sale). Several HDMI inputs.
Cons: Since it's a plasma I'm constantly worrying about picture burn-in. There is a screen saver that is engaged if the TV stays idle for 6 minutes but I still get nervous.
Other Thoughts: I ordered this on a Sunday and it took almost 2 weeks to get to me. Can't complain because shipping was free. Tracking the package only gives vague details like (package confirmed on board). I don't see why people complain about the built in speaker. My old LCD had speakers that were almost worthless, these are clear at high volumes.

WOW!
Pros: New Egg Shipping was great. Ordered on a Sat processed on a Monday delivered by Thursday. Tracking the order was a brees (sorry big Saints fan can't spell breeze to well anymore). TV is great. Nice and big (wife thinks too big). Picture is awesome. Hooked my laptop to it via the HDMI input and WOW it was clear, shocked me since some review said it would not look good on a plasma. Overall very happy with it and now I look at the price at $799 plus $20 shipping I feel like I stole it at $719 no tax no shipping.
Cons: Wish it had an aduio out other than the optical. My receiver is older and does not have a optical audio in. I guess I could run it through my DVD player. A bit reflective. I have to turn all the lights off but that is how it should be viewed, in complete darkness.
Other Thoughts: Overall I love this TV. Rear projection died last year and been watching movies on the laptop. Great price and great service. What else could you ask for?

cant beat the bang for buck
Pros: Great picture! Sound was more then expected! SD card is a nice feature Plenty of HDMI ins for my needs
Cons: Nneeds to be broken in... the TV at first seemed very dark but after the break in period of a week it got better.
This screen has a green push by default so had to go into the service menu to correct the problem.
Other Thoughts: overall I am overwhelmed by how great this picture is for the price it just cant be beat.

Save money with this 720P
Pros: I waited until I had HD programming before making a true judgement. Before HD programming, piture was very good, but never what I would call Crisp. Nice TV, nothing to brag about. Wow, AFTER HD programming it is truly like looking through glass. The picture quality is outstanding! The picture is so clear you feel like you could just reach through the screen and grab whatever you are looking at. I would simply use the word STUNNING. This TV was tested as a best buy from Consumer Reports. I am very glad I went with this TV instead of paying much more for a 1080. As a general rule from everything I have read, if it is a very good performing TV like this one, you cannot tell the difference between a 720 and a 1080, expecially if you are looking at 50 inch screens or less. I highly recommend this TV.
Cons: Honestly I can't complain about anything.

After having for three days, wouldn't turn on
Pros: This is a really cool looking TV and was highly ranked by Consumer Reports.
Cons: After having the TV for three days, it would no longer turn on. We're not heavy TV users either (we had watched one movie and played about 6 hours of XBOX games on it). The really frustrating part is that Panasonic seems really slow in having to "research" where a suitable service center might be. It's a big disappointment.

@Awesome TV
Pros: Comment only; see below
Cons: Comment Only See below
Other Thoughts: AwesomeTV metioned that when his Blu-Ray is turned on the screen displays 1080p, Thats becausue the TV is seeing a 1080p signal from the BR player. It cant display at 1080p so it self adjusts to its max resolution and proper aspect ratio.

Great Price
Pros: The picture quality looks great .I have a 1080p and it is hard to tell the difference from a 720p to 1080p from a distance.Occoarse the PC looks better with a 1080P.this is a great price for a 50" plasma.
Cons: IT hard to fine any ,but it does not have THX and it does not have 1080P
Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a big size HDTV,then don't pass up this sale .sure it does not have all the goodies on it ,but what it does have is a great picture with 30,000 to 1 contrast and 2,000,000 to 1 Dynamic contrast. It has a beautful picture and blu-rays look good on it.

Love it!
Pros: Old school trusted technology (plasma has been around for decades). awesome picture, large size, price shipped to the door. Oh yea did I say awesome picture! I don't even miss or notice the lack of 1080p, everyone asks me what resolution it is (they can't tell it's not 1080p).
Cons: taking a chance on shipping a tv, hopeful that nothing will go wrong. lacking in the audio out capabilities.
Other Thoughts: I watch over the air broadcasts, so I watch mostly all HD programing. My living room is dark with no reflective light sources. I used configurations found on most audio/visual web sites to calibrate the TV.

Simply Amazing!
Pros: Beautiful display for the buck. I stood in BB and watched them all and couldn't see much if any improvement in the more expensive models. We also bought a Panasonic blu-ray and it works great with this display. We've gone from 4 controllers to one. With this TV we also got more digital air channels than before and don't have to adjust our indoor antenna anymore. Newegg service was excellent. We ordered on Christmas eve and we were watching football on New Years Day. Shipping was included.
Cons: It takes a fraction of a second longer when changing between channels...not a show stopper. Viera was difficult to set up initially, even for the Panasonic rep. Once I understood how it works its very simple...the Viera instructions could have been more clear.

Awesome TV
Pros: Great picture and colors. Got it out of the box, went to settings and upped the contrast, color, and brightness from 50 to 60 and it's just amazing looking. Blu-rays look outstanding.
There hasn't been any buzzing of speakers or burn-in on the screen.
Cons: The TV gets glare so it's all about where you put it. I have two lamps in the room and depending on where I sit I may turn one of them off. After a few minutes you don't even notice anymore.
Other Thoughts: I got this for $650 and I couldn't be happier. Newegg seems to always have this TV on sale for less than the $1,100. But, I wouldn't wait to buy it.
One thing I noticed is that when I watch a Blu-ray and hit the info button it says it's in 1080p. I assume it's just confused and it's just the same software they use on the 1080p version. I still sit there and wonder if some how it is in 1080p because of how sharp everything is.

Excellent Pic
Pros: Great picture... looked at scores of TV's... this is as good as any TV double the price. 720 vs.1080 is way overrated if you like action/sports/movies plasma is the way to go... [video games LCD] I read negative comments about the sound. the sound on my tv is very good.Best 700 bucks I ever spent.
Cons: I should of bought two.

Great deal
Pros: - 50" - Good picture quality - Decent sound (for a tv) - Amazing price!
Honestly, I don't think this tv can be beat for the price. I considered the Samsung B450, but my brother has that TV and after watching Blu Rays and standard definition dvds on it, I concluded the picture quality wasn't really noticeably different in a dim room, which is where all my viewing takes place. The Samsung is also much more expensive on a percentage basis. The nice features that the Samsung has though is the stand swivels about 45º total (from far left to far right) which is kind of nice and I believe it has a standard audio out. The Panasonic only has digital audio out.
Cons: For the price? I'd say none!
For a tv overall?
- 720p resolution. Only an issue for people who sit closer than about 10 feet. - Overly green default settings, but can altered to your taste.
Other Thoughts: A lot of people say the color is overly green, which is true by default settings. You can tweak the settings a bit and get a great picture out of it. Changing the tint and the temp can make a huge impact on the color.
I personally use the Cinema setting for watching tv or movies, and the game setting for playing (most) video games as I like the brighter picture for gaming. I personally don't recommend using the Vivid setting for anything, as I think it looks gross and far too unreal.
Many reviewers say the speakers are awful, but I actually disagree. I have my antenna hooked up straight to the back with a cable and I only get sound from the TV speakers. They get quite loud and are very clear, they simply lack bass. I would not recommend relying on the tv speakers for action movies or music, but for standard tv viewing or even sports, the speakers are acceptable.
I use an amp and 2x sub/midrange/tweeter boxes for video games and movies.

Pros: Great picture and really easy set up. I really only watch sports and it has been great for the Bowl season.
Cons: None so far
Other Thoughts: I ordered this TV on a Tuesday morning and it arrived at my house on Thursday afternoon. I was amazed! Great experience.

Great TV - Great Price
Pros: Outstanding picture quality especially after I followed picture setting recommendations from an online review. Hands down the best TV on the market right now for the money - I paid $699. Compared it, side by side, to the S1 (1080) and couldn't tell that much of a difference. Sounds great to me but will be upgrading to a surround-sound in the future.
Cons: Not recommended for use with a PC but I knew that. No 720 will look very good hooked up to one.
Other Thoughts: First flat screen so anything would be an improvement over what I had (27" RCA). Consumer Reports rated this a Best Buy recently and I can see why. I almost went for the Samsung 650 plasma but couldn't justify the extra $$$ for a minor improvement in picture quality. Buy this TV - you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic TV for the price
Pros: 1. Arrived in perfect condition; no scratches or anything 2. Received the TC-P50X1N version... the N suffix means that it is a newer model fixing the diagonal lines seen in older models 3. HD picture quality for slow motion is excellent 4. Solid construction 5. Possible to access the service menu to adjust the picture setting. Search the AVSForums. 6. Price... can't beat it for a 50" plasma
Cons: 1. A bit on the heavy side 75lbs but nothing the Rosewill wall mount couldn't handle 2. Do get pixelation during fast motion but not bad. 3. Setting high color tends to make everything green and very unnatural... simply dial it down and you'll be fine. Search p50x calibration for helpful settings. 4. Remote control sucks 5. Noticeable buzzing sound if the volume is set low
Other Thoughts: Overall I love this set. For the size and money, it is hard to beat. I have this mounted in my office with a leather sofa and it is an impressive man cave. Hooked up the Xbox 360 to it and it looks beautiful. Watching HD channels is also fantastic. Unless you are going to have a 1080p tv sitting next to this, save yourself some money and stick to 720p because you aren't going to notice.

great tv so far...
Pros: Delivered well. no problems. (Free delivery also!) Nice picture and sound. Great with bluray movies also!
Cons: non-swivel base. Have to manually set source change from menu on remote
Other Thoughts: I was looking around for a strong 50" television that would not cost a fortune. I settled for a 720p and read a ton of reviews on this set. It is really great. I read something about manufacturing dates having problems previous to July 09. When the set came in, it was a June 09 set, so I am crossing my fingers. But so far it has been great and met my expectations! Thanks Newegg!!!

Pros: -One of the best bang for the buck flatscreen tv buys.. -60,000 hr lifespan to HALF-life -SD slot on side -Awesome picture for 720p (especially after 120hr burn in and calibrating) -600hz sub-field -Free shipping at the time
Cons: -Heavy....92.6 lbs -Remote is pretty cheap (don't use it anyways though)
Other Thoughts: Arrived at shipping hub 3 days before delivery, so i picked it up early. Tv by far exceeded our expectations for an entry level plasma! Rock On Newegg!

Cheap Garbage AVOID
Pros: Large screen, low price.
Cons: - Picture horrible - Screen very reflective (far more than the 40' 3 yr old Sceptre LCD it was replacing) - Buzzing sound got louder the more white was on the screen - Plugged into a PC, the screen cut the edges off on any resolution - Very dull brightness, which made the dark scenes all blend together and hard to view
Other Thoughts: - Add a small amount of money and buy and LCD. - The 600 Hz thing is just marketing. - This is a poor TV.

Must Buy
Pros: Dirt cheap. I paid $699.99 after everything was said and done. I just can't justify spending an additional 200-300 when they aren't even broadcasting in 1080p and I can't even tell the difference. The TV looks gorgeous and looks better than my 42 inch panasonic I bought 3 years ago for $1200.
Cons: As with all Plasmas, this sucker is heavy and more fragile than an LCD. The remote is kind of cheap and I am not a huge fan of the look of the user interface.
Other Thoughts: At this size, plasma is still the way to go. I think the picture quality of plasma exceeds LCD and at this price, this is a steal. This is one of the top TVs on plasmatvbuyinguide list. Panasonic is the best for plasma.

Pros: Very smooth picture, SD slot on the side, ridiculously cheap (699.99 shipped) when I got it. Panasonic's plasmas are top quality, and with 600 Hz, basketball games can't move fast enough to create any pixelation or blur.
Cons: No PIP (Panasonic seems opposed to it for some reason), no analog audio output, only an optical. It's a bare bones TV but it looks great for HD and up-converted DVDs.
Other Thoughts: When my TV arrived, the truck driver was nice enough to help me carry it into my house, and take off and put back on the box when I inspected my TV. I do have some sound delay from my DVD player on the TV. The Surround is synced, but the TV speakers are delayed. I can't fault the TV for this as I have heard that it may be an HDMI cable problem, as it happens on other companies as well. Plus, who uses the built-in speakers anyway?

Pros: Was a little skeptical ordering a plasma TV online, but after researching and reading a lot of reviews from different sites, I took a chance and ordered. Very fast shipping! Hooked it up with standard coaxle cable from dish network and WOW, pleasantly surprised with this low end connection. Can't wait to hook up to HDMI. Excellent price.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of, exceeded our expectations.
Other Thoughts: I was sold on LCDs only and hardly looked at plasmas because of remarks made such as heat generating, which we found not to be true and the other thing was the life span of the plasma...I read that this tv will last 100,000 hours, that's 8 hours a day for 20 years...the other thing was burn in, haven't had it long enough to have comment, we'll update later on that.

wow, NOT!
Pros: None
Cons: Dealing with Newegg's non support Shipping companies that try to deliver damaged goods. Getting a box of broken plastic and glass when I thought I was paying for a TV.
Other Thoughts: Got to love a company that leaves you on hold for over 40 minutes, then hands out canned responses and is no help whatsoever. I thought I was trying to get a hold of Newegg but must have dialed Dell instead.
What has happened to Newegg? They used to be a good company.

A Good Buy
Pros: Good contrast ratio leads to nice picture. Plasma delivers brighter screen than LCD and good viewing from corners. 720P HDTVs are the best bang for the buck.
Cons: At this price, no.
Other Thoughts: Most people only need a 720P HDTV. HD is delivered in 1080i, and unless you are very close to the TV you will not notice the difference between 720P and 1080i. If you plan to watch a lot of Blueray DVDs (1080P), and view close, then perhaps you need to step up.

Good value
Pros: Great color and contrast; not affected by glare much; tremendous value at $700 inc shipping; easy to set up and as far as I am concerned the adjustments to make it to my liking were simple easy.
Cons: Deinterlacing is not great leading to more jiggles than expected on 1080i. Unfortunately I can set the signal down to the 720p native resolution.
Other Thoughts: I am using in the bedroom so not too many devices are connected to it but HDMI can not be set to 720p because I am sharing the signal with the home entertainment center in the Den and it is 1080i.

so good I bought another one
Pros: I am in love with this TV. The screen is huge at 50 inch. makes my 37" LCD sharp aquos look like a toy. I really do understand buy as big as one can afford. Colors are Incredible. 600Hz engine is the best. Love the large remote..BIG buttons for my big hands and simple. Sound system is excellent! Save hundreds and go plasma and get this one. runs very cool.
Cons: None. SO good I bought another one after I had one in the house for a month.

Pros: With Blue Ray or HD Cable, the picture is perfect. I don't know how 1080p could be clearer. Standing directly in front of the TV, the picture is awesome. Seated 8 feet away, the picture is awesome. The setup was a breeze. When I tell folks what I payed, they freak out. This was a great buy. Merry Christmas to us!
Cons: Maybe I am too easily pleased, because I can't think of a Con.

Unbelievable deal!
Pros: Stunningly clear picture. If you are watching an uncompressed video like OTA DTV, where there are no artifacts, it's like looking through a window. Colors are vivid, lines are sharp with no jaggies or other irritating artifacts, even when I was sitting 6' from the screen. I compared this to 1080p displays in the store and could not notice the difference in resolution. Colors are wonderful. Blacks are black, and colors are just as rich as an LCD. Dynamic contrast ratio is very high, that's the big advantage to plasma.
Newer plasma TVs also have features to prevent the burn-in problem that older plasmas had.
Cons: The brightest whites look a little dirty compared to LCDs in the store. When you bring this TV home, however, you can't tell. Power consumption is a little higher than LCDs, but not monstrously higher like plasma TVs used to be. They've improved a lot in recent years.
There is no 1:1 pixel mapping. That means if you plug in your computer to this you might notice some of the edges are missing. This TV will "overscan" which is good for movies, because it makes the picture bigger. Not so much for PCs. 1:1 pixel mapping is a hard to find, and expensive, feature in a "TV" rather than a monitor.
Other Thoughts: Unless you are a real snob, this TV can't be beat for price to size ratio. That's the real advantage of this TV - you can't get an LCD this size for this price (when it's on sale - which it has been frequently.) Go look at it in the store if you're not sure, but if the picture is not enough for you, I would recommend paying triple for an LED TV - There's no way a 1080p LCD is going to be worth the price bump - the picture is just not noticably better once you get it home.

Wow!
Pros: Amazing picture, unbeatable price, quick shipping, easy set-up.
Cons: I only bought one
Other Thoughts: TV is better than most HD broadcasts - plug in true HD programming and it is amazing. Don't let 720p scare you - it looks like HD should.

Awesome
Pros: -720p still looks great and cost a few hundred dollars less than a 1080p TV -basic controls with the remote I also like to tweak settings but I love simplicity - colors seem great with slight change in settings looks amazing -inputs are located back left and side left of TV easy to access -style wise looks great
Cons: -Mine had a Dent on the back but did not affect the function of the TV -Didnt buy sooner

This is a great TV, and for the Money it is a steal!!!
Pros: The price is a great pro, and not just because it is cheap but how good it really is. I own two plasmas this and a 50b550 Samsung, and even though my samy has better stats it don't look much better 10ft away.
Cons: Heat, and this is something that is with every Plasma. I would not recommend this TV for a small room with weak AC. It can get the temps up substation ally.
Other Thoughts: Also, there is a comment about pixels. I think this person does not know that you must feed this TV HD signal to get HD picture. If you feed it SD cable you will get SD on a big screen. Gamers, Movie lovers, and casual TV watchers should look into buying this TV. I also recommend the Samsung 50A or B 450 it is the same price range with same specs.

Good TV
Pros: Clear Picture. Vibrant colors. Glossy black finish. Lots of different inputs.
Cons: No VGA input. Barebones adjustment settings for picture quality.
Other Thoughts: I really like this TV especially for the price. It looks good. I have never used the sound on the TV because I have it as part of a home theater. I don't think that TVs twice the price would give me twice the picture quality. I just wish i could tweak the settings for the picture a bit more without having to go into the "secret" menus.

ok
Pros: nice, sleek look. You can connect a laptop or computer to it via a HDMI cable.
Cons: you can see the pixels. I was pretty disappointed. Not as clear as I would have liked.

Fantastic!
Pros: World class black levels, excellent color fidelity and gradation, and lower power consumption compared with previous generations (THIS BARELY GETS WARM!)
Cons: The only shortfall: Two rear and one side HDMI inputs are barely enough. I am forced to downgrade this from a perfect five eggs because I haven't seen Panasonic include more than this HDMI connection count on any of their models.
Other Thoughts: This TV did not win me on price alone, but it sure helps. We carried all sizes of Panasonic plasma TVs since 2003 at the retail store I had worked for. I've seen each generation best the previous generation, all while I thought each one couldn't get any better. I recall selling a college professor a 50PX25U (50", 720p) during the 2005 holiday season. I personally set it up in his home because it was a $5000 sale I didn't want to lose. I am dumbstruck that not only is this TV better in many ways than his, but you can also buy six of them now for what he spent on his four years ago.
I have a bright room where this TV resides, and I'm glad I didn't follow conventional wisdom to buy an LCD. It is on par with LCD during daytime hours, provided you can provide minimal glare aversion; but provides a picture that no LCD can match at nighttime. No manufacturer does plasma better than Panasonic, please encourage them to keep making them with your TV purchasing decision.

Great Plasma
Pros: What a bang for the buck! I have done research for close to a year before pulling the trigger. And boy am I glad I did. This tv has amazing picture. I went to calibrate it barely had to change anything on it. I would recommend that you buy the Rosewell HDMI cables to go with this. Buy the good ones for $16 instead of name brand for $100.
Cons: Didnt buy it sooner

Think twice before you buy Panasonic
Pros: This would be a nice TV if Panasonic would support it -- but they won't.
Cons: The "support" people who answer the phones (after a typical 45 minute wait) don't know anything about the TV. They can only read the manual to you. I did eventually get through to "Team 6" which is their advanced resolutions department. "Team 6" seems to know more about the product, but I have been waiting on a call back from them for almost a month now. There is no way to contact them directly. Here is how the phone support system works. First you wait forever to get through to the technical team (who actually don't have much technical information to share). Once you finally get through to that department, they can forward you on to the "Concierge" team to check on the status of your support ticket. Someone then will tell you that he or she will forward your request to the appropriate department. That is generally the end of phone support. Don't bother to try emailing support either. Here is one response I received back from Panasonic after waiting a week.
Other Thoughts: "Thank you for your response. To obtain additional assistance for your product, please contact our Panasonic Customer Call Center at (800)211-7262. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9AM to 9 PM. Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 7PM Eastern Standard Time. A representative will be available to assist you. Please have your case number, which is listed at the top portion of your email, available at the time of the call. Best of the budget
Pros: This is the best 50" set in it's price range, especially when you factor in Panasonic reliability and picture quality. I researched for a little over a year before purchasing this and of course this model wasn't out when I started. Newegg free shipping got it to my door strapped to it's own pallet standing upright, the proper way, 2 days earlier than expected.
I had a long personal struggle deciding between 720(768)p and 1080p and it came down to the fact that I just couldn't tell the difference at my 8-11' viewing distance. Don't let the 1080p hype fool you, it doesn't necessarily get you a better picture and 720p will still let you thouroughly enjoy the benefits of a 1080p Blu-Ray.
Heat output is VERY low for this plasma. When adjusted properly it runs cooler than many LCD's. The anti-reflective coating on this unit is also very good, much better than lesser quality panels.
PICTURE QUALITY!!! Amazing, very accurate colors after proper adjustments and VERY dark blacks.
Cons: Nothing major. The remote is a little cheezy and simple. There is only a coaxial digital audio out so consider that when planning your connections, I have an Onkyo TX-SR507 handling my switching so it's not a problem. It's slow to retrieve images from an SD card, about 8-10 seconds for most of mine.
Other Thoughts: DO NOT JUDGE PICTURE QUALITY IN THE STORE!! These don't jump out at you when they're next to the LCD's cranked up to 10 billion lumens. They aren't supposed to. They do however provide incredibly accurate colors, picture quality, black level, and brightness in the average home setting. This particular model has slightly excessive green saturation out of the box (many people would never know) but if you search the popular audio/video forums you will find the free easy fix that gets the picture very close to what a $300 calibration would cost you and matches the current top-of-the-line displays. This is the absolute best bang for your buck on the market right now if you are concerned about the difference between a good picture and a great picture. I had my reservations about how an entry level set at this price could compare but I'm completely satisfied.

Why Spend More?
Pros: This Panasonic TV is an excellent value. I can't think of a reason to spend more if you're looking for an entry level HD set.
Excellent Picture right out of the box. Set up was quick and easy. I have it hooked up to my satellite with HDMI and the picture qualilty is stunning. My son's PS3 looks amazing, and there is a convenient HDMI input right on the left side of the TV, which makes hooking up the PS3 a breeze.
Shipping was excellent and very quick. I placed the order on the 7th, and the set was at my home in WA. on the 11th. Just amazing.
Cons: The remote is not very well designed. The Vieralink buttons are HUGE but the menu button (something I'll actually use) is small and all the way up by the power button. The built in speakers could be better, but most folks, myself included have surround sound systems so its not really an issue.
Other Thoughts: This is my first HD set. I have seen many of my friend's HDTVs and honestly, I cannot see any difference in sharpness between 1080 and this tv. Newegg's Price was the best I could find. Combine that with free shipping and no sales tax and I saved over 350 bucks!
If you are thinking of making the jump to HD, do yourself a favor and order this set. You won't be disappointed.

WOW
Pros: Picture, QAM Tuner... I'm getting HD programming for free right now and it looks better than my main TV in the den (this TV is in the bedroom). I realize this review is a little premature and I will make another in a about a month.
Cons: Only one so far... It's Heavy, I do plan on hanging this sucker but for now it's sitting on a piece of furniture LOL

Fantastic Television
Pros: TV looks breathtaking. Easy to setup and scan for digital channels. Lots of inputs in the back. DVD's even look tremendous with an upscaling player.
Cons: Heavy.... but things get heavy when they are full of awesome.
Other Thoughts: Shipping was much faster than I anticipated. Estimated delivery was the 27th and it arrived on the 21st! I was not expecting that. This tv is a great value... sure it's only 720p but you really would have a hard time telling any difference with this set and a 1080p version. Take the 500 bucks you save and buy a nice home theatre audio system!

Amazing!
Pros: I love this TV! I have been researching for about 4 years, and just couldn't spend the money. Finally I splurged about two weeks ago and couldn't be happier! You will have people argue about 720 vs 1080 but for me, in a large living room, 720p is adequate. Its an amazing picture, really good standard definition picture too! I have Dish and couldn't be happier with all the HD options out there! For me there are more than enough connections for my 5.1 surround system, DVR, and 8 year old DVD player. I still have the ability to plug a few more things in. I haven't tried my N64 yet, but a portable DVD player plugged right in the side with old red, white, and yellow cables and the movie CARS came out just fine!
Cons: The sound is adequate out of the Panasonic speakers, but if you are watching an incredible movie or show in HD, its nice to have the 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. My wife and I are listening to the TV because we have a 2 year old that is in bed by the time we get the tv powered on and can't play it too loud anyway.
Other Thoughts: Again, its an incredible tv and I don't think you will be disappointed unless you are sitting 3 feet from the 50 inch screen to notice the pixels. It won't matter after a couple of minutes because you will be blind!

GREAT TV
Pros: great picture no matter what you are viewing 720 or 1080 or standard tv. PS3 looks great. Screen size a big plus. Better picture than friends sony dlp, philips lcd, and hp lcd all 1080p tvs. Handle fast motion great. Sdcard slot a great positive. TV speakers sound great. Easy to set up
Cons: Some image retension with ps3 wallpaper but goes away quickly post break in period. Not many menu options and remote feels cheap. TV gives off alot of heat like a space heater. The delivery guy was no help getting it into house just left it at doorstep.
Other Thoughts: The best picture quality I have seen anywhere. Very light only 70lbs. The heat it gives off seams scary but have not had any issues. Cannot say enough about PQ i was amazed for the price and lack of settings. Would recommend to anyone. Would of paid more given PQ. Probally my best purchase ever.

So far so good
Pros: It's a big TV with good picture and good volume. I cannot find anything negative about the TV so far except for small issue.
Cons: I cannot find the TV guide for digitally broadcast channels. I can see the current program information but haven't been able to find the guide. The manual doesn't have anything about it so I suspect that it doesn't have this basic feature.
