COMPLETE JUNK...Dont buy this
Pros: It makes delicious coffee...at a price
Cons: When you brew coffee, the steam from the brewing coffee go into where the coffee was just grounded. This creates a incredible mess of coffee paste. Look forward to spending about 5 mins EVERY time you make a pot of coffee to clean it completely. I attempted to see if i can make a second pot without cleaning it and it didnt grind all the coffee beans and the filter overflowed. (yes i cleaned the filter at least). Its worth just getting a regular coffee maker with an external grinder you have to clean once a week. You might be thinking to yourself "hey, 5 mins of cleaning isnt that bad" At first it isnt, but after doing it for a week and realizing that you old coffee maker that you cleaned maybe once a month is starting to look pretty good.

very nice maker
Pros: Coffee from beans or ground, thermal carafe, delay timer, all parts dishwasher safe, and looks nice.
Cons: n/a
Other Thoughts: Wish it came with a clear graduated pitcher for filling the unit with water rather than using the carafe.

Pass on this one and
Pros: Makes great tasting coffee, thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot. Looks great sitting on the countertop.
Cons: -grinder must be cleaned for each use...grrrr
-filter door pops open on random occasions when I'm not in front of the maker creating a pool of piping hot coffee on the counter and floor.....GRRRRRRR, and when you go to make another pot right after that, the bean hopper top won't come off because the heat from the steam makes the plastic expand........GRRRRRRRRRRR
Other Thoughts: take a pass on this model and upgrade to the DGB-900BC (it has a burr grinder and the bean hopper holds a 1/2 lb. of beans). You'll still have to clean the filter assembly for every pot, but you'll only have to clean the grinder and bean holder once a week. The 900BC is the best coffee maker I have ever owned and would buy it again no questions asked.

Excellent Product!
Pros: This coffee maker is awesome! Best one we have ever owned. We bought our first one in 2003 and had to replace it on 2007. We found it lasted a long time since we are serious coffee drinkers! Freshly ground and brewed coffee from right in your home is the best! Cheaper on the wallet too!
Cons: I have no negative remarks at all!!
Other Thoughts: Yes, you do have to clean the reservoir but so what, it takes all of 20 seconds to wipe it out. It you complain about this, you must be a lazy pig so I hope I never get invited to your home!!! :P

Noisy and Messy
Pros: Automatically grinds coffee. Gold coffee filter included.
Cons: -As previously stated, there are many ways for this machine to malfunction, leaving you with coffee all over the counter and floor. We stopped using the timer for fear of waking up to a mess. In order to use the timer I would first hook up an extension cord so I could place it in the sink. -Plus, when it does overflow it is nearly impossible to clean. The plastic pieces don't easily come off so there is no way to get all the grounds cleaned out. -It is hard to clean. We stopped using the automatic grinder because it is such a pain to clean, plus it is extremely noisy when it is grinding.
Other Thoughts: It makes pretty good coffee but, in my personal opinion, not as good as the ZOJIRUSHI it replaced.

Horrible Maintenance
Pros: Grinds beans during cycle. Turns off after coffee is made and keeps it hot in a thermal carafe.
Cons: Probably the highest maintenance coffee maker I have ever owned. Because the reservoir for the beans get moisture in it every time you make coffee, you have to remove the grinder, wash it, and dry it with each pot of coffee. This is untenable and I have decided to toss the unit out.
Other Thoughts: The door to the filter has also been blocked and you cannot buy replacement parts for it.

Very nice coffee maker (while it lasts).
Pros: Attractive unit, great carafe, all-in-one operation. It keeps the coffee warm all day (as to the earlier review about no base plate warmer - it's a CARAFE! You don't heat a carafe, it's dangerous!), and it makes a great pot of coffee. Nicely designed to spread the water across the surface of the grounds basket.
Cons: Longevity of service, very loud when grinding. Clean-up is somewhat messy because it effectively steams the remaining coffee grounds and powder that didn't escape the grinding unit.
Other Thoughts: I owned one of these for about 4.5 years, until it recently died on me.
My biggest problem is the short lifespan. When mine died out of warranty, I (being a geek and an engineer) cracked it open to find the problem. When I removed the baseplate, I observed two hoses to carry the water across the heating element, as well as a couple of resistors and other electronic components. Both hoses were deteriorating, and one had deteriorated enough to cause water loss, resulting in fried electronics. IMO, poor design placing vulnerable electronics in a questionable area, and poor quality that the hoses were able to deteriorate so quickly.
I replaced the unit with my trusty, basic 12+ year old Braun, which has yet to fail. I STILL use that great Cuisinart carafe when we have guests and I need an extra pot of coffee. For the money spent on this Cuisinart, I would expect much longer service. I wish I'd known to check the water hoses periodically, but you know this now.

Fair Warning
Pros: Stainless steel carafe is nice to keep coffee hot and fresh for hours. Looks good sitting on the counter.
Cons: Mr. "Worst Purchase Ever" was exactly right about the messes this machine WILL make. (Not that it might make a mess, it WILL make a mess.) The unit I own now is having switch problems. It will sometimes shut off the brewing, but will turn on the grinder! (grrr!) Haven't submitted for warranty repairs because I really am not sure I want to keep it. Grinding your own beans makes a huge mess to clean internally. I stopped grinding months ago.
Other Thoughts: I've owned two of these machines. The first, (which ex-wife now owns), worked fine, but made all the messes previously discussed by other review. My second unit is less than a year old and has problems. I did not buy from NewEgg because they did not have this unit at the time. Just be forewarned that this machine has issues, both electronic and mess-making! I've cleaned up many a major coffee spill. There are other units available that are more dependable.

Worst purchase EVER!!!
Pros: Great concept. All in one bla bla bla.
Cons: Many different ways in which you can end up with a counter full of coffee. Too many beans=counter full of coffee. Forget to put any of the 200 pieces back in=counter full of coffee. Don't clean it often enough=counter full of coffee. Don't clean out old grounds first=counter full of coffee. On and on and on. so if you want to wake up to a counter full of coffee and a 20 minute clean up process instead of a nice freshly ground cup of coffee be my guest. I finally took an axe to mine and bought a cheapy.
Other Thoughts: I know It looks like a great coffee maker. And it's good on paper but i'm telling you, you will want to chuck it out the window at 5:00 AM when your day starts out with yet another counter full of coffee
Oh and you also have to unscrew the top off every time you pour a cup since it seriously drips into your cup. And the base plate does not warm which every $20 maker can do.

Insualted Carafe
Pros: Insulated Carafe is the best. No burnt coffee from sitting on the heat. Built in water filter. I have only had to clean the inside out once. I do filter the water that goes in it to avoid mineral build up. Timer works great
Cons: If the pot is not perfectly centered you will have a huge mess. I will not allow you to make coffed unless the grinder is in place. I would prefer it tell me if I forget the water or putting the pot back in.
Other Thoughts: I no longer use the grinding feature. If you use it you need to clean and dry it everyday. I also prefer a burr grinder to the blade type. It does work flawlessly however if you check everything. I do love the insulated carafe and would never go back.

Great Coffee Maker
Pros: All in one - grinds, brews, programmable. Good tasting coffee, and easy to use. Having a thermos keeps the coffee hot for several hours without making the coffee bitter.
Cons: The clock display is small and hard to read. It appears to be of the quality of $5.00 watch. But it still works, unlike the one on my deep fryer. Cleaning the grinder is not real easy and it MUST be dry before making coffee. It will also overflow if you take too long getting a cup of coffee while brewing. I've quit trying sneak a cup before it's done because of the mess it makes.
Other Thoughts: I am thinking about buying another for my office.

FRESH GRIND MASTER!
Pros: Brews the freshest coffee because the beans are ground immediately before brewing! You don't lose any flavor! Stainless steel looks sharp. Coffee stays hot, pot is very thermal. No burner/warmer, which prevents flavor from deteriorating.
Cons: Occasionally overflows if unit is not well cleaned or if you take the pot out while it is brewing for too long to pour a cup while it is still brewing. (on those days when you need the coffee ASAP). Water and grounds can overflow if the flow is paused from removing the pot or if you dont clean it well. In the unit's defense, It does not recommend taking the pot out while brewing. Also I managed to grind once by accident before placing the filter cup and grounds went everywhere, but that was an operator error.
Other Thoughts: I got my unit as a Refurb, and have not had any problems. Mine did not come with the metal re-usuable filter. I purchased this afterward. I never had any overflow problems with the paper filters, but did not use them very long. I like using the reusable filter because it saves $ and trees.

Not bad for a all in one
Comments: This is not bad if you don't need alot of coffee. 10 cups is more like 5 regular cups but that's ok for me. Some complain that this unit can make a mess but not really for me. just rinse out the grinder with hot water then wipe clean with a paper towel was all I had to do. Just rinse out the filter and carafe let dry and you are ready to go. I have made 4 cups and up to 10 cups and clean up was the same. Coffee was hot enough for me but maybe not enough if you use creamer from the fridge.
