Pros: This little thing heats up my basement really quick, and is MUCH quieter than my old space heater. Great improvement. Cons: No detector to kill the heating element if tipped over. Pros: For as cheap as this little heater is, it did work great for about 1 month. Cons: This looks like a nice little space heater, and for about a month it did work well. After 1 month of nightly use on low heat setting the fan motor has failed. The fan itself will spin freely if the unit is unplugged, but as soon as power is turned on, the fan motor buzzes and will not spin. I believe this is a defective fan motor which is not easily repaired. So there is twenty bucks down the drain. I would send it back to newegg, but it's just not worth the hassle of repacking it and taking it to the nearest UPS store. I'm sorry to say I will never buy another Lasko product. It is small can be moved around easily and doesn't seem to get in the way. Cons: There is one thing about it though, i dont know if mine is defective, but i doubt it. After about, idk, a week and a half it seemed to loose a little power in heating. It still heats my mid sized bedroom fairly well, but i would not suggest this heater if you live anywhere that it gets colder than 10F it still heats, but it's just not as effective beyond that point, it may be due to the size of my room but i think it is to much for this little heater to handle. First one has never failed for last 3 years. Cheap, affordable and will heat a small room in no time! Cons: none Other Thoughts: This is the best little space heater I've ever had, and I've used several over the past 20 years. It has 2 knobs to control the heat and I had to turn this thing down halfway. Full setting was just too hot for me. I use it in the office under my desk to keep a nice pocket of heat going. Cons: The plug melted my surge protector and since the plug itself got melted, I can only plug it into certain outlets. It only has an analog adjustment so it is hard to adjust it to and maintain a precise temperature. And free shipping! This little heater works better than the 5 other units I've tried. Cons: It doesn't have the auto tip over shut off switch. I need higher amperage circuit breakers, I have to turn it off to turn on the micro-wave. Other Thoughts: I'm using this heater at my desk which is in the kitchen and it opens up to the livingroom. That's 2 rooms about 14x25 in total. with a sprinkle of snow outside, and the heater pointed at me on a 45 degree inside morning. I'm comfortable in about 1 minute. it takes a couple hours but right now it's 72 here at my desk and 68 at the far end of the livingroom. Did you find this review helpful? Light to heating element stays on constantly which indicates power to the unit; EXTREMELY unsafe. Spark is visible when connected to wall jack and you turn the unit onl. If it oscillated it would be all that. Of course it would be $15 more also. I am surprised how quiet it is compared to most other ceramics that I have. Cons: Would be nice to have a digital display for the thermostat, but that's asking too much at this price point. Other Thoughts: Here is the but...nothing against the heater but I have bought from the Egg for years and this was a first for me. The unit came with some other items and there was no damage to the shipping box. BUT the heater and the box were damaged. Not enough to affect it's performance, just scuffed up a bit. But the box had a decent size hole in it and the heater + cord + bag was taped with packing tape, so I assume that the warehouse damaged it, taped it back together and sent it out. I didn't think it was worth RMAing it as long as it worked, but it sure surprised me that someone would do that, especially with the Egg's grand reputation to uphold. It does throw quite a bit of heat, but I'm always amazed when the box says whisper quiet modes -- heck of a loud whisper. Within minutes of turning the heater on I was at my desired temperature, sweet relief!!! Cons: The heater has a very long cord (tripping hazard) and no auto-shutoff which could be a formula for destruction. I gave it 4 stars because I wanted to set the temperature of the room not dial the my heat comfort level of the room. I should have looked at the picture closer. So I had to purchase a thermometer. As soon as you turn it on the heat can be felt within 5 seconds. Works much better than a "blackbody radiation" type heater with a cruddy fan because it's heating the air not the closest objects. When it was 10 degrees F outside this morning it was a comfortable 76 in our bedroom with this thing on the first setting. Cons: Smells a bit plasticy for the first couple runs but it goes away. It's a bit noisy compared to a radiator type or blackbody type heater but the noise is work-place tolerable and we sleep through the night with it on. Other Thoughts: The first weekend we brought this home we slept until 3PM that Saturday because we had the thing on full-blast since we had to do that with our old heater. Measures roughly 6.5in x 9in x 5.5in. Puts out a nice flow of heated air. Has a built in handle thing so you can move it without burning yourself. Cons: Sounds like a mini motor. It's louder than my mid tower with 3x 120mm Yate Loons @ 90cfm. Takes a lot of power. Uneven heat distribution; more heat comes out of the left side. Other Thoughts: Be careful, my top floor of my house is all wired to one breaker... When this thing is on high, it goes off. After turning it on it heats up to 100% in about 30 seconds. Heats up my 150sqft bedroom from 60 to 70 in ten minutes. Cons: Front grill gets unbearably hot in just a few seconds. Very effecient at heating up your immediate area. Cons: I have 2 of these and when I had them plugged into the same circuit in the same room and both set to high they overloaded the circuit, so I had to go and throw the breaker back on. Now I just use one at a time or if in the same room I plug them into outlets which are on different circuits and they work fine. Other Thoughts: I am very happy with this purchase! I have had the units for less then 3 months but they work like a charm. Word of advice do not leave them on when you go to sleep. This can be a potential fire hazard. I only use mine while I am awake and place them in my immediate vicinity, works like a charm! Another tip if you have any leaky windows you would be wise to also get some type of weatherstripping and seal the windows, therefore you will not have to use your heater as much, regardless of what type of heater you are using. Cons: Won't do the dishes :/ Other Thoughts: This was able to make my bedroom way too hot, even when it wasn't on max settings. I lowered the settings and it was perfect. In my cement basement it doesnt do too much at all, unless you have it blow right at you. Great for small-medium rooms. It might work in a larger room that has insulated walls. Other Thoughts: This is a really great little heater. The fan works when the heat works. It's not one of those heaters that the fan is runing when the heating element cuts out. I use in my HAM shack. It heats two rooms comfortably that are 8X10 feet. It would be nice if it had more of a lower profile design so I wouldn't be as concerned about it being tipped over. However it does have an outo cutoff in the event it is tipped over so that really isn't and ssue. Newegg has free shipping as added plus so you can't go wrong on the price. Saved $140 bucks on my heating bill with these suckers. This sucker gets the job done Cons: No tilt protection function. This is the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars. Other Thoughts: I bought for $20.00 with free shipping elsewhere. Little spendy on Newegg. Highly recommend the product though!! matthew Tech Level: high Ownership: more than 1 year	3/11/2009 12:49:29 AM I dunno what this other guy is saying this heater is quite Pros: Quite, throws good heat, low or high setting or just fan but I dunno who uses a fan setting on a tiny heater like this..mine looks a tiny bit different (I guess its a older model) I only ever used it on low setting on 2 or 3 circles on the temperature dial and stopped using my wired in base board electric heat in a bedroom, and it kept it toasty warm, and its a decent size room...If i turned it all the way up and leave the room for a little bit, I will walk back into a wall of heat! Like walking from a air conditioned house to outside on a hot summer day, for the price I can't complain one bit, 1000 or 1500 watts vs several thousand watts each time my base board electric heater clicks on? I'd say this heater! has saved me tons of electric too!! BUY IT !!! Cons: Has no switch on the bottom, at least not mine to tell itself if it has fallen over to shut itself off, so be careful if you leave it on at home alone while you have animals or children around...or maybe it shuts off if it is knocked over and gets too hot, I am not sure as I haven't tested it. Other Thoughts: I had mine for almost 1 1/2 years, I used it all this winter, I am thinking of buying a 2nd one just in case this one dies cause I use it alot...If you have a decent size room you'd like to be heated without killing your electric bill, or breaking your ear drums, I would surely tell you to buy this, its $25 and it lasts a long time...to clean it all u do is snap the back plastic piece off and clean the foam like pad thats in there that catchs dust and dirt from getting into its fan. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful. Cons: While I figured a fan that pushes air through a ceramic grate to be noisy, I didn't expect it to be so loud as to almost unusable. The fan is incredibly noisy, even noisier than my tower computer with 8 80mm fans in it. Its about as loud as my dryer when its on. The heat is very directional too. Did you find this review helpful?
