Microsoft SideWinder Mouse
  • 1 x Wheel
  • USB Wired

5 out of 5 eggs Wonderful Mouse, Better than G5 12/28/2007

This review is from: Microsoft SideWinder Mouse

Pros:

*Feels Comfortable
*On-the-fly DPI switch that is customizable!
*LCD that shows you customized DPI and Macro settings
*Metal Side Buttons (The two near the thumb) are very accessible and convenient, I no longer hit them accidentally because their placed so well
*Red Glow
*Not a lot of resistance (Moving the mouse is smoother and comfortable.

Cons:

*Wish the DPI settings could be customized in increments of 1. You can only set them at 200,400,800,1000,1600 and 2000 DPI
*Don't expect this to work with a USB Hub. When I pluged it into mine, my PC told me the HUB wasn't supplied with enough power to power the mouse, so be prepared to use a USB slot directly on your computer.

Other Thoughts:

Bought this from Best Buy and thought it was worth it to review since it is such a good mouse. Great Mouse for a Gamer with big hands like me. People with a smaller hand might have difficulty finding it comfortable. "Vista64 Gamer" seems to be reviewing the whole SideWinder line of products instead of just this mouse, but if you goto Microsoft's website, there are XP and Vista 32 and 64 Bit Drivers. Plus, the SideWinder mouse did come out in 2007, and by looking at Microsoft's website is greatly supported. Who knows if it will be supported 3 years from now though. But theres no way to tell this early if Microsoft will abandon it.
