3 out of 5 eggs noisy pure tone 01/21/2008

This review is from: ENERMAX UC-12EB 120mm Case Fan

Pros:

Relatively quiet and moves a fair amount of air. Unique bearing system.

Cons:

The fan blades seem to resonate at somewhere around 400 hz at any speed over 740rpm. While the fan bearing itself is close to silent the pure tone isn't, and is extremely annoying over the sound of the and ambient noise. It isn't "loud" loud but it's definately noticable. Also the fan never reached the advertised speed of 1000+rpm, the fastest I've seen was around 930. I've tried everything under the sun to get rid of the sound and I've decided to just replace it with something else.
