Meh, this one works and has done so longer than the first one. It's also quieter so I'm taking this as a good sign. Powers my AMD 4600, 7950GT and enough fans to cause a brown out in LA.
This is my second one. The first one died in a manner that reminded me of an old Hollywood "mad scientist" sort of way. Complete with blue fire, loud scary crackling electrical discharge noises and the smell of lightening.
I can only assume long dead ancestors were watching out for me or something since it didn't take my house with it when it turned into ball lightning...
If it sounds abnormally loud for even a large power supply you might want to test it.
Any backpackers out there that know the smell of a lightning strike too close to you will understand the unique potential joys of this unit.
