Pros:
The unit is attractive and the volume/mute knob works well and a very convenient.
Cons:
When something as standard as general SVM (smart volume management) is absent, things have clearly gone very wrong. Anyone who has played with a standard X-Fi will be appalled at how many features are missing (including existence of multiple modes). That my computer's built-in chip has software that offers more functionality than the X-Fi 5.1 speaks volumes about how bare-bones the piece of hardware is.
I am not sure who this product is made for, but unless Creative updates the 5.1's software to match the rest of the X-Fi line, I would strongly recomend looking for a different sound solution.
A huge dissapointment and money very poorly spent.
