Corsair Rocks 12/05/2008
Dirt cheap after rebate; quality construction and workmanship, with hefty feel and beautiful DHX heatspreader; runs cool at 1098 5/5/5/15 without problem (didn't even use the enclosed fan, which was also well made); stays cool to the touch.
couldn't run 915 at 12/4/4/4 like my Crucial Ballistix 800 2gb did on the same computer; DDR2 is no longer at the forefront of technology--newer chipsets (e.g. X58) have moved on to DDR3. At identical RAM timing, my Ballistix scores a few percent higher on Sandra mem bandwidth. For most applications and games, there's not a tremendous performance boost going from 2 gb to 4gb, at least on Win XP 32-bit; but did I mention that it's cheap?!
the previous reviewer obviously has misconception about compatibility with 32-bit OS--all RAM's are compatible with both 32- and 64-bit OS's. 32-bit OS is limited to max 4 GB of RAM, and depending on how much VRAM is on the videocard, Windows will report 3-3.5 GB of RAM installed, even though the bios detected 4 GB. There's no such thing as RAM incompatibility with 32-bit OS.
