Canon SD 1100 - a good choice 01/02/2009
This review is from: Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Blue 8.0 MP 3X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
The Canon SD line of compact cameras always take good pictures. The picture quality seems to always be better than equivalent competitors in the point and shoot class. The video quality is pretty good for a camera this size. This model has a view finder and a LCD display so if you are running low on batteries you can turn off the display and use the view finder to take pics.
I had the SD 600 model for about 1.5 years, and this model is much slower at actually taking the shot. From the time you press the picture button it takes almost 1 second to actually capture the picture. That makes it difficult to get the shot you want especially with a fast moving target. I have a young daughter who is always on the go and have missed a few shots due to the camera taking a while to complete the shot. This may be due to the new image stabilization features that this model has. The black plastic material that wraps around the sides of the camera feels a little cheap - it would have been nice for it to be aluminum like the rest of the casing.
