Causes random crashes under XP when used in a 4Gb config. After crashes, my machine would go into a state of endless restarts. It would fire up, do the initial drive spin up, and then shut down...just to start the process all over again 3 seconds later. Only way to stop the reboot cycle was to unplug the machine.
I'm using a Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6 motherboard. In an attempt to fix the problem I updated just about everything (BIOS, Graphics, etc.), but the only fix was to drop back to my original 2Gb. This was very frustrating for two reasons 1) the memory is not refundable 2) I wasted 4 hours on something that should have taken 15 minutes max!
