Best board I've had - hands down 05/14/2009
This review is from: ASUS M4A79 Deluxe AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
It's the little things that count. Things like the on-board reset and power buttons -- Q-Connect -- Q-Shield (case I/O shield) – and all the other little things that most manufacturers have overlooked.
But it’s the bigger things that will simply blow you away:
*Supports up to 16GB!!! (how many can say that!)
*Phenom II 940 support out of the box (no BIOS update required)
*Crash Free BIOS
*Express Gate - a small OS that allows you to access the internet, chat clients, etc. without booting to your main OS - a must see!
Ultimately it’s the performance of the board itself, when coupled with the CPU, memory, video card and the various input hardware (HDDs, CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, etc.). This one has that in spades.
To really see it shine, be sure to mate it with the Phenom II 940 Black Edition. If you can, get a high end graphics card and I know you won’t be disappointed.
ASUS really outdid themselves with this one.
It doesn't cook or clean, but given time and the right BIOS update ...
I haven’t utilized ASUS boards in quite a few years.
When it was time to upgrade, I decided to take another look at ASUS and I am glad that I did!
The ASUS features and the level of CPU support (not to mention the 16 GB RAM support) are some of the reasons I decided on them and I am not disappointed!
I have recommended this board to others and they are as pleased as I am.
This coupled with the Phenom II 940 and the RAM I have on board is, simply put, a screamer and I have never been happier with a main board upgrade.
Please put this on your short list when the time comes to upgrade your system. You will not be disappointed.
